I am a single mother of two and needless to say, if it weren't for the Lord I do not know where I would be (don't want to know either!) I know that everyone has a story and a song, so I am not going to talk about the struggles and different things we have been thru because thru it all, we are still blessed. I would rather look at what we have than what we dont have. I feel that God has put a calling on my life, and whatever path opens to fulfill that is up to Him. Ive tried to do things my way..and that hasnt worked so well. Been in and out of college, job to job, nothing really lasting, and all the while feeling empty. So I am at a place in my life where I am giving it all to God and am ready for Him to use me to serve His purpose and part of that is thru praising Him in song. Whether thru Sunday's Best or some other way, I will give God the glory!
I believe I shud be one of the 2012 Sunday best contestants, because { have been singing in my church choir since I was 6 years old. I now play a saxaphone in my church band too. I play alto, soprano and tenor. I'm originally from Kenya, God blessed me with a wonderful husband whom we serve God together, in our praise, worship and singing. To God be the glory for it all.
I 19 years old. I have been ministering in song since the age of seven. I have won talent shows, as well as scholarships. Now that I am older, I realize the call God has placed apon the ,my life. Singing and moving people and bringing them out of situations. I believe the competition is for me. It will make me believe in myself, for 3 years i have been putting auditions off, but 2012 I will make my way to the auditions whether by bus or cab, because i believe this is where God is leading me to be.
I guess you could say that I'm tired of running. I know that God can use this gift He's blessed me with to bless others and I want to just completely surrender everything in me to Him.
I am writing regarding my sister, Tarnisha Dry. This is a woman who is constantly thinking of others. She is a true genuine person. She tries not to let the weight of the world get her down; at least she will not show it. She never let it stop her from doing the work of GOD. This is someone who will be in church all day singing to the glory of God. Singing is one of her greatest loves. She sings from her soul and makes you feel it. For years I have reached out and helped so many people in my family and sphere of influence financially and spiritually. I have always been called upon to sing hymns at funerals of key matriarchs and siblings in my family for the past 30 years. I have sang gospel and secular music off and on for years and would like to use my God given talent to help others. I have recorded music years ago and the music basically was given to others in my family and to those that were ill and just needed a word of encouragement. Both of my parents are aging and my dad of all people has been my greatest fan. He has lost his vision and I see life taking a toll on the family in general. I would like to do something to make my parents, siblings and children smile once again. I have a very humble beginning: single parent, married and divorce within one year 30 years ago, completed a Bachelors in Psychology, Masters in Administration and will soon complete my PhD. My story is a story of inspiration to some young mother that feels she can not make it in this world. God has blessed me with 5 beautiful grandchildren, 2 children, a daughter and son in law. I am writing on behalf of my daughter, Rashana "Brie" Riley. This girl can't sing but she can SANG!! Everywhere she goes she is asked to sing on the spot and was until recently she started singing when put on the spot. Everyone wanted to know why she was not comfortable singing and she would reply, " I don't think I can sing that good". You have to hear her, she has a voice like you've never heard before. Brie has her own style and I have not heard anyone with a voice like hers. This child can sing Daryl Coley's songs and will make your hair stand up on your whole body. One of my favorites that she sings is Beyond the Veil. God has really gifted her in a lot of areas but this singing gift will remove burdens and destroy yokes. God Gets the Glory!!!!!

Hello, my name is Patrick Hatch from Durham,NC. I live because God is. When I sing, I feel close to God, and inspire others to feel the same. My greatest desire is to please God and to encourage others who have felt as though there is no place for them in this world or in God's family. I have felt that way, but God is faithful, he didn't let the devices of the enemy work. I know that because God is for me,that no weapon that is formed against me will prosper. I want to encourage those who feel rejected, who feel lonely, who feel lost, that when you come to God as you are, with all that you are, that he will lift you up, heal you, and bring beautiful things into your life. When I wanted to give up on life, I would listen to Jesus You're the Center of My Joy, and got a little more strength. When I felt like giving up, and was listening to a secular station, and heart Stomp, it spoke to the pain and lost feeling that I had. It gave me a little more strength to keep believing in God because He is so real that I cannot and will not let go of my faith. That's what Gospel Music has done for me. The pastor of Greater Mount Olive Baptist Church #2, he has been pastoring for 27 years and has been preaching for over 45 years. My grandfather has been singing throughout his life, and has had the opportunity to be the leader of several gospel groups. Currently managing and the lead singer of his own gospel group, Reverend Hubert Baker and The Believers, my grandfather has made a name for himself. Well known in the community as “the little preacher with the strong voice” many people enjoy hearing him sing the gospel. I would like to do what I love doing which is singing. As a child I can remember asking God to anoint my voice so that lost souls would give their life to Christ.
I love to sing Gospel songs and grow up singing in the church choir with my mother and sisters years ago. I was afeard to sing for reason I must say in person but as I grow and life started getting rough. The saying goes “Call on Jesus and He will see you thought” and tries your best to do what is right and don’t be tempted to do what is wrong; if so, ask God’s forgiveness and get back on track. Hello,My name is Shuntay Carter.I’m from Orlando,Florida.I’m a praise-n-worship leader at “In His Face Deliverance Ministries”…And I’m excited about auditioning for Sunday’s Best!!!The reason why I should be considered in 2012 audition is because I never knew I could sing until I got saved in 1999.And I couldn’t believe what god put into my spirit.I never knew i can carry or hold notes,but god is awesome and amazing.I can remember in 1999,when I discovered I can sing and I love to feel what i’m singing,because I’ve been through many of storms…I’ve always wanted to be on the praise-n-worship team,but the church i use to go to before i joined,In His Face Ministries. The pastor told me that he had to look over my life and i’ve been attending his church for two or three years.Everyone that just joined the church they was the ones that got picked on the praise team.Oh my gosh, did that hurt me to my heart. I always cried but i still had a smile on my face no matter how bad it hurted.God said,he save the best for last,even though it took 8-10years for god to come through for me. He say have faith little as a mustard seed and god gave me double for my troubles.Just because i wanted to be on the “praise team” so bad,My pastor told me that god told her that i’m the praise-n-worship leader,you get it i just wanted to be on the worship team,not a worship leader!But to god be the glory then a year or two later,i got ordained to be an evangelist!!!”Gloryyyy”

But she taught me to sing and love singing, because it brings healing to the hurt, lost,and to people that are going through in there life. I ministry to myself in the word and singing. I love My Jesus because that is what got me through fough times.It a passion to sing for GOD.I know that I have the gift to sing.Anointing God bring my voice out even.
I should be considered because i have the gift of singing for god. i was in the youth choir. i do praise n worship at my church as well. all i can say is i just let the lord use me.

Hello, my name is Kynnesha. I am a 25yr old wife and mother of 6. I reside in Atlanta, Ga. Recently I loss one of the greatest gifts in the world to me. On June 23 my grandmother Rev. Judy Wilson was called home. I never in a million years would think I would be able to sing at her homegoing. I sang her favorite song “Yes” and I couldnt think of anything else besides telling God YES. Two young ladies gave their lives to Christ that day. I promised myself that I would see my grandmother again. I never questioned God but I plan on spreading his word to as many as I can and what better way than becoming the next “Sunday’s Best” God Bless -Kynnesha

Hi, I’m over thirty years of age and I don’t wish to go to my grave without my dream (of Singing for The Lord on a broader scale) being realized. I was told of a woman who was gifted with an operatic voice. She wanted to sing opera, however, her mother & herself prevented that dream from coming true. It’s been many years later and the woman, now living in a nursing home sings opera from her bed or chair (the only place she ever got to perform). This story has motivated me to take these steps in order to see my dream come to fruition. And so I hope I’ll be selected as a contestant for Sunday Best.

My name is Marjorie Howard and I have been singing since I became old enough for my grandmother to stand me on her kitchen table and I sang with the Voices of Alexander Youth in elementary school. I love being a part of God’s body and like many others we all have testimonies. I held a life of hopeless failures with the little I did know, I held on refusing to let go. I was strangled by fatigue and burden, and my body unable to stand, it left me a broken woman. He told me to come to Him with broken wings and watch how his love heals everything.
I feel I should be Sunday’s Best, because God told me to be what I was meant to be and that means singing for His Glory. Blessings

I have come to accept that what I have been given is a gift from God and that my calling is bring people to Christ through song. It took me a while to accept this, but I’ve embraced it now and I’m ready to show the world what God has done for me.
Being 43, you don’t get a chance to try out for American Idol. Also singing Gospel is what I love to do. I feel that the annointing in on my life and that God had given me a gift to minister wnen singing. I feel what the song is saying that I choose. I let it heal me first. Me and my 2 kids are in ATL and the rest of My family lives in Miami. It would be a blessing to tell them I will be on the show.
Along with Jesus and this air that i breathe, God has blessd me with a few gifts, but i like to think of them as many. 1 of the gifts i shared with the devil for a very long time. It didn’t last, n i kud have died. Two more gifts that i have, i use them to make sure my mind isn’t idle. Singing is sumthing i’ve always had in my heart, but it never felt right unless i was doing it for Jesus. Ive tried and shared everything in and with the world, except my singing. I would love to be selected; as an opportunity to share the singing ministry that the LORD has blessed and preserved my life to help to preserve the lives of so many others. For the anointing truly does break and destroys yolks. As an example of the Miracle working power of Jesus Christ. Born with Cerbal Palsy, both of my feet were clubbed,both eyes were crossed, was told I was not going to live to be six years old, was told I was going to be mentally retared, was told I would not talk or walk, the doctors were going to break my legs and reset them correct the feet. But they did not have to because the LORD himself straigthened them out.
