  1. Just need help my husband was diagnosis with NMO Devic's Disease . Can't get in the bathroom with his jazzy chair. He worked all his life and now his not able. I'm still trying to work and take care of him. He has to take treatment that cost 48,0000 dollars every six months right now,but if he has flare up could be more. We live in Swords Creek Va and we need help.

  2. I have always given of myself. I volunteered everywhere I could. I volunteered at local schools through their PTA's as the vice president, the special events coordinator, and the parent representative at the administrative level and helped start, chair, and run an after school program at one of our local elementary schools to help children in a low-income community to assist them with their homework and other school related projects and other enrichment activities. My oldest son and daughter volunteered to help tutor the children also. I volunteered with other organizations to be a help in the community. I was an AmeriCorp Volunteer and I volunteered as a community organizer at a local office that aided community leaders and neighborhood associations with their efforts in their prospective neighborhoods called Neighbors for Better Neighborhoods and provided training for them to be able to do their work. I became a volunteer with Habitat for Humanity where I helped with building homes and would volunteer to help build during a blitz which meant several homes would be built at the same time during a certain weekend. I even was involved with the dedication of the Chris Paul house where the NBA Basketball Player Chris Paul who played for Wake Forest University and now plays for the LA Clippers sponsored a house for a family that Habitat for Humanity built. In fact I served on a committee with Habitat for Humanity during the time Chris Paul sponsored a home for a family. Our purpose was to assist families with the process of going from being a renter to becoming a homeowner and to encourage them not to accrue any more debt while they were waiting for their new home to be built. There also was a group of children I would take to every vacation bible school all summer long from the time school let out for the summer until students returned to school for the next school year and every other youth oriented event held throughout the community. We would go from one church to another and at various times throughout the year and beyond. I would make it a point to include other children in every youth oriented event in the triad area along with my own 5 children.
I watched your program diligently and always admired how you would go out of your way to help each of the families you served by providing them with a safe, beautiful, architecturally creative and fully functional home that meets the desires and expectations of not only the parents but of every family member according to their own interests and gifts, one that others could not help but to admire. I have seen families who's lives were completely changed and almost without anything to call their own who finally gained hope and some sense of contentment because you were willing and able to go that extra mile to help them not only with a house but with a home filled with all the furniture and other amenities that made it truly their own. Besides all of that you would send them on a fabulous and much needed spectacular family vacation. This was just icing on the cake that gave the family a time to enjoy time away with each other without all the constant worries these families no doubt had encountered since they had suffered such loss and devastation.
I have admired what you do for years on end and have always desired to have you come in and provide for my family what I have always longed for, A dream home. A home that exhibits features and characteristics of my family because it was built with love having them in mind. Too often I have been in the habit of doing for others and not taking care of my own needs. Whenever I was needed to take care of anyone who may have been encountering an illness whether it was family or whoever stood in need due to an injury and was unable to work, not only would I go and help take care of them until they were able to do for themselves but I would also go out and seek after assistance in whatever capacity by securing funds whether it was securing donations or whether it was getting sponsors or assisting them in filing for temporary disability so they would not have to struggle so much to get caught up on their bills while they were recovering from their illness or injury. I truly believe you have to help someone and give of yourself, your time, your gifts and talents to see that others needs are met and when it is your turn , your needs will not go unmet. I mean I would go all out for someone else so you could imagine how it was for me to suffer a tragic event in the life of my family and have nowhere to turn until I saw how you help families in my same similar situation.
We had a fire at our home and have been displaced every since, even now. I remember it so vividly. It was late in October when all of a sudden late one Sunday night as I was preparing a plate of food for my husband to eat for when he came in from work later on that night I decided to bake out some biscuits for him to eat with his dinner when I happened to go back and check on the children who were sleeping only to discover there was a fire that had broken out at the entrance to my bedroom and was already 2 feet high once I went to the back of the house. I then had to hurry and wake all of the children and get them out of the house to safety before I could even call for some help. It devastated me so that when I ran next door to call 9-1-1 and they asked me did I get everyone out I had to run to our van and began to count heads over and over again and keep calling each of their names to see if I had been able to get everyone out. Can you imagine what it is like to stand there and see your house burning and there is nothing you can do about it. My husband, daughter, 3 sons and myself were first put into a hotel by our local Red Cross chapter then were placed in temporary housing through a local organization which places families in temporary housing while they seek out permanent safe, affordable housing. With us, it never occurred because in our case my husband found us a place that his employer owned and operated only to be out of there in less than a years time due to the property having some major underground pipe and water leaks which then placed us in a situation where we needed a place to live all over again. During the time of the fire I was placed at bed rest because I had been taken to the hospital because I was hemorrhaging and the doctors could not find out why. One thing after the other kept happening. We had the house fire, my mother got sick and died and before anything could be done about it I lost our unborn child. We suffered so much loss during that time and right after even with the loss of my husband's mother that it seemed that it was going to be hard to come back from. My desire and my only hope is for ABC with it's affiliates and with the help of Ty Pennington and his team of designers and decorators and last but definitely not least the designers, architects, and builders who go all out to allow their creative juices to flow to create a spectacular dwelling and living experience for me and my family. I have never seen any other who can in any way match what you are able to do and it doesn't help that you always have the greatest people who come out and want to help sponsor the home for the family as I hope someone would want to sponsor mine.

    With much love and appreciation,
    Cornella Yvette Furches-Brown

  3. Hi there my name is Renee Wilden. I am writing this in HOPES of getting a miracle. I live in a small town of Coshocton County in the state of Ohio. My husband asked me 5 years ago for to be out of our marriage of 14 years. So started looking for a small place with very little ground. I found this very cute cottage looking house. I loved how it flowed. When I bought this house it stated that it had leak issues and it had been fixed. First month in the home is poured in my kitchen ceiling and in one of the kids bedroom doorway. It even ruined kitchen table and the ceiling know has a long cracked line that spreads across the room. From there anytime we had a hard rain my house leaked. In the years following I tried repairing roof. I had someone come in to put on metal roofing and they never finished it and some community members came together to finish it. Now it has leaked in my closet, in my bedroom doorway, in kitchen, in the den that connects too the kitchen and in the back child bedroom even in the room. I am writing this now, as I hear the water dripping from the ceiling thru a light onto floor in dining room. My step dad and brother came to put rubber roofing under my metal roofing on most of my roof. Have spent over $9,000 on fixing a roof that is still leaking. All due to how house was built (roof is funky). House is old but has had a lot of updates and additions put on before I bought. I thought I was getting a home that wouldn't have any major issues till appliances started breaking down. I have been told by a couple of contractors that my foundation is leaning or falling away from house, but the contractor that first looked at house 10 plus years ago said it hasn't moved any and would be fine. I also have areas of floor that isn't level.
Now a little about me. I have worked full time as an State Tested Nurse Aide all my life. I was currently working at a hospital in Zanesville full time (3 years ago) When I developed a auto-immune disease that causes me to have leg wounds. They still to this day haven't healed. I have gone from full time to part time to on call as a sitter only. So for a parent on a single income I am stuggling. I pay for repairs as I get the money saved. A lot of little things need repaired, but roof comes first. Unfortunalty that comes into the thousands each time. I have months where I am late with some bills, but make sure electric, gas, mortgage and car payment get first dibs on the money that comes in.
To end my story I am a foster parent. I was doing it with my ex-husband. When marriage was over, even though I knew it would be hard I wanted to continue. God didn't grant me kids the normal way. I don't have money to adopt. I am great with kids, especially with teenagers. I currently have two in my home and have room for three. I couldn't see my life without them. I am afraid my house is falling down around us. I need to provide a safe home for them and me as well. I am not asking for a huge house and all the awesome things that I have seen on your shows. I would love to have the same size now. Just a leak proof roof and a foundation and floor that is safe. Or if you can just fix those areas.
I have stuggled all my life and I still keep my head held high. But with this disease I have things aren't getting done like I had hoped for. All because I can't work like I used too. Doctor has said I keep working the way I am I will loose a leg or both. I am no good with no limbs when I am raiseing teen girls and helping them with all there baggage that they are dealing with.
I am not a lucky person. I doubt I will hear from you. I do hope that you read this.
I do not like hand outs I get by, it is just I am at a point I have to do something. Can you please help a 44 year woman out that has a huge heart. Thanks From little town in Ohio Renee:)

  4. I used to love the rain and the peace it seemed to bring with it….now, I've been in retraining each time I hear the sound because I truly feel like a hurricane victim every time. For the rain brings basement flooding and has ruined furniture I can’t afford to replace, created the inability to enjoy my already small home, and I sit in water, even now, as I write this letter. The misery of this house goes beyond anything I could possibly put into words. But I am going to make an attempt at it at least. My story is this… I met a single father some years back and began this painful journey with my depressing dwelling. The man and I dated for nine years and lived together in his grandmother’s home that he owned for much of it. During this time, his construction job didn't allow for assisting, but on occasion, with finances; so the burden of him and his son (my son in my heart) and also my own son was solely on me. Luckily, but also unfortunate as I would find out in later lessons, I had fantastic credit. So as I delved more deeply into believing I had a family to put first; which included some of his family members living in the household as well when they hit hard times, I kept giving beyond my means. I maxed out old and new credit cards for home repairs for the old home he owned and worked extra hard to make it a livable dwelling. This included finishing the basement, some upstairs termite repair, new roof, extended deck, refurbishing hard wood floors, tiling the bathroom, new retaining walls, and replacing old doors, windows, and a staircase. The home was slowly beginning to feel comfortable for everyone. But as I struggled to pay the upkeep to it all, he could not help with his mortgage payments and I began having difficulties doing this for him. He decided the best thing would be for me to buy the home so that I could get the payments down to a more manageable amount and just keep his name on the title so that it is “our” home. It is probably obvious at this point that I am not the type of woman that puts her heart in front of her intellect…. Right? Well, as it turns out, I did, in fact, purchase the home (I actually didn't want to own) but did manage to get a great deal on lowering the mortgage. And actually, since he wanted gifts such as guns, 4 wheeler, camping popup tent, etc….. I spent the overage on exactly that! He paid ~$60,000 years ago and I paid ~$98,000; not including the credit cards that got it to appraise at this amount. What a bargain! We broke our relationship off a few times during our venture and I moved out because he had an “emotional” attachment to the home. But each time he could never pay the mortgage so I paid it; though I didn't live there. The final time this happened, I decided I was not moving out if I had to continue paying for the home… so he moved and made it clear that he was glad due to the home being worth more if it burnt down than if it was salvaged. Wow… I’m such a sucker! I was then stuck with the home so I resolved myself to having big hopes and dreams for it. The relationship has been over now for almost three years and thinking of the hell I went through with the home during the relationship is nothing compared to after the final curtain call. Come to find out, the basement that I spent around $18,000 to have him finish had raised flooring with wood braces that had deteriorated over the span of many years and the space underneath the flooring was filled with black mold from years of leaks. I was wondering why my health and my son’s health had been progressively going downhill…. Now I knew. I know you and I both realize by now that my intellect is on the highest level in some areas… so as you can guess… I proceeded to strip the basement of all flooring and drywall and cleaned out the mold on my own. As this happened, there were other issues arising; old wiring and many areas of live wires that are freely open and hanging, the breaker box and wiring to the home not at the right capacity (in fact, one was arcing because it was the wrong size), the plumbing leaks from the upstairs bathroom, the tub surround tile coming off the wall due to rot and mold, ventilation system broken, pipes from the washer and sump pump exposed across the middle of the floor (this was under the floor before I tore it out), asbestos siding with a lot missing, gaps between the concrete and the home, we continue to be sick and rack up doctor bills from the mold, and unsure what else may be lurking for my home ownership pleasure. Unfortunately my home still sits as it is for these years trying to drain all the hope right out of me. But I fight back! I love trying to hang on to pieces of hope by way of watching home renovations and I cry right along with the ones you help! I don’t want to take away from anyone else who may need you more than I do but I was just wondering…
    Will you consider rescuing us?

  5. My cousin and his wife have 3 children and have adopted 3 more foster children for a total of 8 counting the two of them. Each one of the adopted children has, in their short lives, lived through unspeakable situations. My cousin hurt his back a few years ago and they have been struggling ever since. They have a small 4 bedroom home that is literally busting at the seams and in desperate need of repair. They have given so much of themselves, as has the only son they have together, by opening their hearts and home to 3 children who had nothing. If anyone is deserving and in need, it is this family. Please feel free to contact me to discuss their circumstance in detail. I think this situation is most worthy or your consideration. Thank you!

  6. Hello, My name is Janette Smith, I am 58 years, old. I am going through a 2nd Modification, don't know if I will get it. I lost my full time job five years ago, working for a non-profit..I kept up my house payments for ten years, but last year my son moved out. I am working part-time as a caregiver for my disabled older sister. I have been looking for another part-time job, but to no avail. My son is in college and he wants to move back with his best friend, my foster son who just got back from Afghanistan. My son is working a seasonal job right now, only three days a week, three hours a day plus college..The friend is in the Army guard and is working full time at 10.00 an hour. My house was built in the 70's..Its a homemade home. I say that because it has no drywall, and is tongue and grove, all wood throughout..It has potential..but I cannot afford to fix it up. My washer and dryer are in the kitchen..open kitchen, it is three bedrooms, is one story..the bathroom needs plenty of work..plumbing is good, but needs new shower frame, and linoleum.I think it is pretty unique. You would have to see it to understand. I think it is worth saving if I can get my payments lowered. Thank you for your time. I appreciate it.

    Yours Truly,

    Janette Smith

  7. Hi my name is Mandy, I am married and have 2 children (Amber,14) and (Logan,10). I was diagnosed with Crohn's in 1997 shortly after we were married. Since then I have also been diagnosed with fibromyalgia, severe migraines and hypothyroidism. Things have been rough but we've been making it. We found a small affordable house to live on our limited funds. Now we are needing to move because a Dollar General just opened up in our little (quiet) neighborhood. If there is any way you can help us it would be greatly appreciated. We're hoping to find some land near here to build. I'm not sure if we afford to have it all done. This store is going to cause or property values to decrease, which will make things harder and frustrating. Thank you for reading this and helping any way you can.

  9. This is one of the hardest challenges I've had to face! Asking for help is super hard for me! But, I need to, so here's my story!! My husband and I baught a house that has been in the family for a very long time! At the time I was pregnant with our first child! We live in a small town in New Hampshire! There are not many job opportunities here! We both work at the same company! They have cut our hours back to the point that we just can't make ends meet! Our house is literally falling down around us! With these short hours at work we just can't fix anymore! We have managed to fix a few things that we could, but without the money coming in, it's impossible to continue! I have two children 9 & 11!! They still believe in Santa!! This is holiday season is not going to be so great! It's my husbands birthday today, and our main bathroom is now ready to fall threw the floor, one of our enclosed porch is falling in and the floor is giving way also! We have mold in that room! The cold and water is just leaking through! We have recently replaced our main door, but ran out of money to finish it! There is no insulation and the cold is just poring in! There are so many more problems with this house we love! And to top it off we don't have money for our children's Christmas presents! Please, please, help!

  10. My name is shanon. I am sharing this story for ABC extreme make over. I purchased my first home in 2006 a 2 bedroom 1 bath 900 sq ft because it was only me. They told me for years I would never have kids in 2007 they wanted to do a hysterectomy. I didn't want to lose any time at work so in 2011 I had to offer to adopt a child.2 months before she was born I found out that I was 8 weeks pregnant.with the adoption and having my second daughter at 27 weeks and 3 days weighing 2 pounds 6 ounces she spent 59 days in an ICU. So they are 91 days apart. in 2013 I got pregnant with my son and he was born August 9 2014 with the steroids shots he was born full term. I am currently in a situation with 2 two and a half yr olds and a 4 month old in a home with 2 bedrooms. I work 40 hours a week at Walmart to provide for my children although there are no extra expenses to add on to my home. so please if there is a chance to be on your program I would be so appreciative of everything

  12. My grandmother is 87 years old. And she. As laid off from a job about 4years ago that she worked at for 20+years. Shes a very caring and sweet old lady. My brother,my daughter(1yr) and I live with her. She opens her doors to anyone that needs shelter and can't seem to get anyone to help them. I love her with all my heart and I want so much for her to be happy and get a chance to be in a nice home. The house we live in is very old, her father built it and she doesn't want to get rid of it but the house is completely unsafe for her And others as well. I Dont want her health to deteriorate because of the house not being up to par. She really deserves this opportunity, she's raised 5 generations of children in this house but it really needs work. I pray that you guys can help her with her home.

  13. This request is not for me, but for my son and his family. Brad and Jaimi have 3 little boys. James is 9 and has autism, epilepsy and cerebral palsy. Jed is in first grade and extremely bright. Jason is 3 and following in Jed's footsteps. Brad and Jaimi have had only minimum wage jobs since they married. A few months ago, Brad was trying to fix one of his vehicles, when the blocks slipped and the car came down on him. He is now facing a double fusion in his back on December 17th. Needless to say he had been out of work since October due to the accident.

Jaimi and Brad have tried so hard but just can't move forward with home repairs and just keeping up. James requires a great deal of assistance and is wheelchair bound periodically, requires assistance walking, can not talk and even though he has a brain stent is still uncontrolled with his epilepsy. Medical bills have really prevented any improvement in their home.

The children's bedrooms are cold. The furnace is not working right. The roof is leaking, attempts to make the bathroom handicap accessible have had to be put on hold and the house is very dysfunctional. We are retired as are Jaimi's parents and not able to help a great deal financially other than with food and occasionally some money.

If they could just have a helping hand to get them functional, I am certain their whole outlook on life would change. They both seem so depressed all the time. They try so hard.
Thank you in advance for your consideration of Brad and Jaimi's family dire need of a makeover

  14. Hello my name is Jaime Mariscal, a year ago my mother in law lost her home. She had to move in with myself, wife and three young children. We were renting a small home in Burbank. Since the rent was going to be the same as a mortgage, we bought a home in Canyon Country. WE were so excited to be approved for a home, we bought the first home we looked at. Big mistake! this home needs a lot of repairs. The yard is just dirt front and back. It sits on a 16,000 sqr ft. lot. Not much to look at though. My kids are always getting hurt while playing in the dirt yard. The outside of the home is on the border line of EXTINCTION. The inside is the same. Needs more work than we thought. Work is getting really slow and I do not have any extra money to make any upgrades. PLEASE Help!. I know there may be other homes in need, but my home is just as important to me and my family. Thank you and Good luck to us I guess.

  15. Hello,

I have three (3) disabled women in my family. Sister Kim age 56 with primary progressive MS that hasn't walked in over 7 years. My niece Lauren (her daughter) 27 diagnosed with SMA a muscular degenerative disease who is now relegated to a wheelchair and their 95 year old mother in law (grandmother) who was recently discharged from the nursing home for lack of affordability. There are currently three(3) hospital beds, four(4)wheelchairs, and other medical equipment lift chairs, etc.. in approximately 700 sf of living space. They have no ramp into/out of the home and the front door has to be removed in order for them to leave the house. The main caretakers for these women are my 65 year old brother in law and my 36 year old nephew who also maintain full time jobs. There is no nursing staff to offer assistance except for the hospice nurses who come every morning to check on the grandmother. Three out of five people in this home cannot walk or stand. . There is no space in this house for all this medical equipment and with two hospital beds in the living room they cannot even put up a Christmas tree this year. My nephew now has 2 crushed vertebra and my brother in law needs knee replacements due to lifting the women in/out of bed, wheelchairs, showers, bathrooms, etc.. The caretakers never complain. My sister tries to maintain a happy faithful attitude even though she hasn't been out in months. My niece is working through it every day trying to make the most of it. Our hearts are broken for them and we have no where else to go.
My sister was a nurse for many years. My brother in law is an aid in a state mental hospital and my nephew is a dispatcher for our local 911 center as well as assisting on the local ambulance crew. My niece recently finished college but is not able to work due to her condition. This is a good and deserving family who could certainly use an "Extreme Makeover" due to these sad and "Extreme Circumstances". Their home sits on a double lot with plenty of room for additions and expansion. Thank you for considering my request.

  16. I never thought I was ask for such help, but my younger brother who is 60 years old and is in severe joint pain in his knees and is currently waiting for surgery. Without being able to work,he is in danger of losing his home and just about everything else he has including his pride. He is not what most people would call a pillar of the community and he has very few friends. But he performs a service that very few people do. He loves to play Santa Claus and does so without asking for payment. His home is in horrible condition and should be destroyed, but it is all he has. Any kind of a structure would be a million times better than what he has. I am the only relative he has that cares about him and am not able to help him financially. Please give him a chance to live in a home he can be proud of.

  17. My husband and I dream of really being able to call a place "home." We have lived in 13 homes in our 15 years of marriage. We've moved many times due to being in full time Christian camping ministry and have had several long term times being out of work. We have had to borrow $ to feed our 4 children over the years. We have had two homeless summers, where everything is stored in someone's garage and we "float" around visiting family members. We try to present it to the kids as a fun adventure, but it's pretty stressful. In order to have jobs, we have had to live apart numerous times, the most recent being 10 months apart where my husband was able to visit us on weekends. This kind of instability is so tough for the kids. He is now home, with a consistent job, but we're getting deeper into debt and it is just snowballing; we have one car and it seems to always be in the shop. My husband is working in heating and cooling and has had his builder's licence in the past, so he can officially fix just about everything…except all the electrical problems in our car. He would love to open up his own heating/cooling and snow plow business, as our town does not have an HVAC company. (And he would like to buy a snow plow because of the high demand for that service in Michigan.) We have often discussed the possibility of taking in and adopting kids who need a home, but we haven't had the stability of circumstances to do it. I'm especially interested in adopting a child/children with hemophilia, since many potential parents are probably scared away by this disease. My 9-year-old boy Eli is a severe hemophiliac, so we are all intimately familiar with how to care for a child with this condition. We also have 3 girls, 12, 10 and 7 with lots of love to give. My oldest has been in 6 schools and she's in the 6th grade, so we are desperately trying to stay in our current small town school district. This is her 4th year in the same school; she's so happy:) We are renting a very small house with 3 tiny bedrooms, so my husband I sleep in the living room. There is no room for a washer/dryer; the limited closet space is packed to capacity. A neighbor (who's house we're watching while he vacations in Florida all winter) has kindly granted us permission to cart our laundry to his house while he's gone, which has been so helpful. Our kids are sad that we have had to keep their cats at Grandma's in Ohio, since our landlord doesn't allow them. We were only allowed to bring our small dog. Grandma would be even happier than us to be able to give the cats back:) She has helped us with so much over these difficult years. She took us in when my dad died suddenly on Jan 1, 2010. It happened to be just as we were homeless again. I think it helped us both to be living there at that time as we were heartbroken. Between running out of propane at 3AM after stretching it over as many months as possible to the constant car issues, we feel a bit like we're drowning. Our rental house is also up for sale, so we could be out at any time if someone decides to purchase. We would be so happy to have a place to settle, space to bring in more kids and serve the community and a garage to park in during these icy winters. Thank you for your consideration and thank you for what you do and have done for so many throughout the years!

  18. helloo my name is tomas I willn not write my story in here because all community can see this I rather email you my storry

  19. I am 38 years old. I have three children. Back in February 2013 I gave birth to my daughter at 24 weeks gestation. She weighed 1 lb 6 OSS. She spent 5 months in the NICU. While in the NICU she had to have a emergency tracheostomy. At 5 months old she came home on a ventilator. We we're suppose to have 24 hour nursing care. That has never worked out. We do have nursing while we work during the day. At night we would take shifts. Averi was doing well and was thriving. She was being weaned off the vent Nd only on it at night. She was beginning to about walk. On August 28 2014. Averi suffered an anoxic brain injury. We were told our child would never be the same. She may never even know who we are. We brought her home and have lots of therapy appointments. She has improved slightly. We have a hose with one full bathroom, upstairs. Averi's room is downstairs with a half bath. Once she reaches a certain age. It will be difficult for us to get her upstairs. We have lots of medical equipment in a little space. Averi's sisters have had to adjust to a life change as well. It is not easy having a special needs sibling. They need room updates. They need a nice place in house to call their own. Our house is older and does need some work. But it is hard to find time to do anything to it.

  20. Hi, my name is kaylie and i'm 12, I am doing this for a christmas gift for my parents, because they have gave everything they could to me, because they love me.Now I want to repay them. I live in a duplex, with my mom, dad, little sister, little brother and our cute and lovable animals. Our house is, well , not so great and my family deserves better for what they sacrafised for me. Our landlord doesn't do much, but says "I'll get to it". But doesn't do anything. My house looks like a den for wild bears. Its trashed from the inside and out. There are holes in our walls, holes and litarlly pieces taken out of our doors. Our sink clogs up. The fernace is broken so there is a machine in the middle of our kitchen, to warm the house. Our floors are coming apart slowly, from animal urin. My mother works all the time, just to keep a roof over our heads in food in our mouths. My father broke his ankle so he can't work to pay the massive builded up bills. And I know this was a little while ago, but there was a man wanted by the feds who lived right below me in my basement!! When we were gone or sleeping he came up and ate all our food . Money is tight right now i know, they tell me not to worry but we are in need of serious help. Any day now, we won'tbe able to catch up with the bills, and soon we will be living one the streets. Please help. This would be the biggest christmas miracle anyone could receive. And my family would forever be in your dept.
    -kaylie loving daughter

  21. My name is Molly Snowberger. I’m 23 years old, married, and have a beautiful Chihuahua named Penny. My husband, Matt, and I just celebrated our 3-year wedding anniversary. Life has not always been easy for us, though. After eight months of being married, Matt lost his job and we had to move out of our rental and into my parents’ house. I found out that I was pregnant and decided to get approved for a home loan. Since it was just me with an income, we only got approved for a $60K house. I purchased a fixer upper for $57k in April 2013, and we moved in. A few weeks later, we suffered from a miscarriage. It was devastating news. Matt decided that it was time for a change and started a lawn care business. He has had his business for 9 months now, and things have drastically changed for the better since. Unfortunately, we are still playing catch up from the two years of debt that we accrued. Our house was built in the 1950’s, so it is very outdated. Living in Florida, we also have come across some major roof and ceiling damage due to rain. I’m afraid that if this doesn’t get fixed soon our house will be ruined. We have been trying to get pregnant again over the past year, and I want our house to be baby-ready when the time comes. It would be my dream come true to modernize this house and have it live up to its full potential. I know that this could be our perfect first-time home with just a little TLC. Being on Extreme Makeover: Home Edition would not only help us with our major financial struggles, but also help us to start a new chapter in our life on the right path.

  22. I am pleading that you help my mother who has been struggling since my senior year in high school. My mother is an outstanding woman that doesn't mind helping anyone in need. After graduating high school it became very hard for her because she was taking care of 7 children. My eldest sister died and she took on the responsibility of my niece and nephew. She was still taking care of me and my two other siblings. My sister and I both had a child that she took on the responsibility for. My mother eventually stopped working and only had limited funds to live off of. We then began to stay in extended stay hotels to keep us all together. My younger brother and sister went off to college which meant me and my mother took on the responsibility of raising my niece. Years went by and I got a place for us to stay that was more comfortable. My mom was going to take over the house expenses and I move into my own apartment with my 3 children. My mother got her a part time job in the evening to add to her income. She suddenly became ill and I had to take on the responsibility of my niece as well as my kids. My mother was so very sick that we didn't know if she was going to make it through the year. She found out that her kidneys were shutting down on her. She under went numerous surgeries, but that didn't stop her from attending church when she was able to go back. She only has one kidney working for both sides but it is weak as well. In 2011 my mother and niece came to live with me in a two bedroom apartment. It was not much but we had a roof over our head. In April of 2014 there was a terrible flood in Pensacola, Fl. I lost everything that I had worked so hard for. Since that day we have all been homeless. My children, my mom, and my niece are staying with my sister temporarily until I can find something for them. I am not looking for the help, but if you could find it in your heart to give my mother the opportunity to own her first house it would mean the world to me. My mom has attended Zion Hope Primitive Baptist Church all of her life. My entire family started out in this church and most of us are still there. She used to be over the children's choir which gave her joy to see the kids praise God. Our pastor Elder Bernard C. Yates is all about getting the young people in our community off the streets. The church has different programs set up to keep the kids occupied in a positive way. Each year the church family raises money to assist high school graduates get a college education. I pray that you find it in your heart to choose my mother Wanda White and niece Malainna White to receive a house to call their own. She is my niece and son's number 1 fan in everything they do. They are both freshman in high school. My son is on the Varsity football team and my niece is on the varsity basketball team. She attends every game despite either of us having transportation of our own. Please help my mom

  23. My name is Taylor and I am 15. For my 16th birthday I would love nothing more than for my family to get the house we have always wanted. We have 4 sometimes 5 people living in our house plus 4 dogs, a cat, and a turtle. Our little house is so crowded and needs so many repairs. Our foundation is crooked and cracking and the wall outside my bedroom is in such bad condition that I'd not fixed soon the whole wall could cave in. I especially want more room for my parents because they work so hard to make my life better and I just want to help make there's better.

  24. I bought this house with my wife with the knowledge it would need repaired. What we didn't know is I would soon be disabled to the point of not being able to do anything. My heart is extremely bad and requires a transplant. Our home is falling down around or ears and I'm not able to work anymore to be able to fix it up. My wife has her hands full taking care of me and her uncle we just had to place in a nursing home. We have 5 daughters. I know the odds of this actually being read is astronomical however I hope and pray someone can help. Even if it's not with much thank you. Robert Raymond

  27. Hi there! My boyfriends father in law has been in the hospital for over 2 months now with a flesh eating bacteria. He also has extremely bad diabetes that they are trying to get under control but his number are through the roof somedays. He's had mutiple surgeries on the infections in his wounds and is continuing to have more. Whenever he's finally able to get out he honestly will not be able to go home due to the black mold and disgusting household he was living in. He has not heater or air continuing, and living in Louisiana that's just causing the mold to grow. He's a 53 year old who looks more like at 65-70 year old due to the diabetes. He doesn't have a working washer and dryer or a stove. There is so much work that needs to be done to the house that it honestly needs to be completely remodeled! It's the house he grew up in and ever since his mom died a few years ago he just let it go completely. He has always been the person to give to everyone even when he has had nothing. He has never taken a single vacation day from work and because of that it's his only source of any kind of income now. He's been in such a servile environment for so long that even if he wanted to go home he couldn't due to becoming sick and infected all over again. Please help us! We are left with no other options! Thank you!

  30. My name is Tameka Williams jennings, I live in Greensboro NC, my friend that I am currently dating her name is tabitha mcneil, she has a aunt by the name of Caroyn Gardin, who has lost two sons, she has and older son that is survived with two sisters. One of the surviving sisters is total care, by the name of melly girl. Aunt Carol has been taking care of her kids through out birth, she recently just had a heart attack that led to severe heart surgery. In the midst of the family we try to help her out with the melly girl who is total care . But being that we live in the country , her house space is not good at all . We was going to try to apply for a home makeover being that we have orange water but instead we felt that aunt carol needed the help herself. She has raised and took care of her home the best way she could and god knows that since she had the heart attack it has really caused the family to come together to assist with the care of them both. If you feel in your heart that we can help aunt carol and rebuild her home instead of ours, it will truly bless her as well as the care of her daughter melly girl.

  31. Hi my name is Megan Hults. I am 20 years old from Shelton, WA. My family doesn't have any major sad backstories, but our current situation is hard. My mom works as a CNA at Mason General Hospital, and my father has recently been fired from his job. I just recently got a job, but my mother and I have just enough money to pay bills and get necessities. The real struggle is in our house. Our house was built in the 70's but is falling apart around us. The electricity is a fired hazard and we just recovered from a lighting storm. There is almost no insolation in the house and the windows are paper thin. We have to cover out windows and back doors every winter with plastic just to keep warm. I try to save up to help my mom, but unexpected bills pop up everywhere. I wanted to move out when I graduated to start off on my own, but my mom needs my income and I can't afford to move out. Please help us. I know none of us are dealing with medical issues, but our house is just unsafe. We will keep our heads held high. Thank you.

  35. My mother was just diagnosed with ALS (Lou Gehrigs Disease). Her current house is literally falling down. The house does not have central air or heat. There are so many things wrong with the house that it is too much to list. In my opinion…the house just needs to be bulldozed and a new one put up. My dad passed away in 2010 and we are trying to help maintain the best we can for mom. Don't need anything fancy…just need something that will provide better living conditions and will be functional…this disease will eventually lead to her having to have full time care. She currently has trouble with her speech, swallowing, and breathing and already has a hard time getting around. I would just really like for her to be comfortable for whatever time the Lord allows her to be here. Prayers are definitely needed. Thanks so much for the consideration.

  36. Hello. My name is Amanda Sunderland. I am a a single mother with 3 children, one of which is disabled. He has Arthrogryposis Multiplex Congenita. This condition makes him unable to perform basic tasks such as dressing and toileting. I also have twin 12 year old daughters who are Tomboys! Our home is livable, but not suited to our needs. My son needs to have modifications in order to reach cabinets, cook, bathe, open and close doors, and store his belongings. I currently am paying a mortgage and cannot afford the changes needed for our home. We live on a one acre lot, so there is room for improvement. I would really love for my son to be able to have an accessible shower and the ability to help with daily tasks around the house without having to ask for help to do them.
    Thank you for your consideration.

    Amanda

  38. Hi,
My name is Tania. I'm 19 years old and I live in American Canyon California. My best friend Ashley lives here in American Canyon as well with her father and two younger siblings. They live in a 3 bedroom home that has been deteriorating around them for last 10 years. Ashely's father is legally blind and he's a type 1 diabetic trying his hardest to provide the life his children need. Things took a turn for the worst when Ashley's grandfather lost his life from an aggressive form of caner in the year 2012, taking a huge part of there income and support. Her grandfather was slowly trying to remodel the home before he passed away but didn't have the time to finish it because he became severely ill. The house that they live in now is falling apart water heaters shutting on and off, severe mold issues, and it isn't safe for her handicapped father. I would love for My best friend and her family to have a home that is tailored to her fathers needs. Her grandfathers death took a toll on there entire family. Leaving the younger kids to constantly worry about how they will make it another day. Ashley helps her father as much as she can working two jobs and she's even trying to go to school but doesn't have the time or funds. She has had to step up and be the father her dad no longer has.

  39. Hello, my name is Theresa , and my daughter and I are in desperate need of a home makeover. For over 4 years we have lived in an over 100 year old house. On the front door there is a slight hole, which lets in extreme drafts of cold air. Right as you enter there is the first room, there was carpet before we moved in, but they ripped it out, so there are certain pieces of carpet still remaining. If you look to the right, it is the "living room". On the living room wall there is a bigger spot on the wall that is missing paint. If you continue straight, right as you enter the door is a huge gas floor furnace which is a fire hazard and has burnt our feet multiple times. If you continue walking forward, it's my daughters room, which is not closed off at all, so she has no privacy whatsoever to do homework. This room is supposed to be a dining room.To the left of my daughters room is a closet/ entrance to the attic (huge potential) / carport door.I forgot to mention, there is a window in my daughters room looking into the bathroom area. The bathroom was added on and is uneaven. Our sink is green and shaped like a shell, there is a step up to the sink. The floors are terrible. If you come back into my daughters room, and turn to the right, it's the kitchen, in the kichen, there is little to no kitchen space, which stinks because my daughter loves cook.Let's just say it's horrifying. On the back porch there is no ceiling. We are in desperate need of your help, it'd be an honor.

  41. Hello Everyone at Extreme Makeover. My story is different and possible not a qualifying one, but you never know unless you try. I am the treasurer of our local little league in Burney California. We run on a shoestring budget with many expenses. Our town has about 3000 people, most medium to low income. This is the community we serve. Unlike most little leagues out there, we don't charge very much for signing up to play; about $35-$45. We have donations to help get us by for the season, barely. The reason I am telling this story is because we are in desperate need of a new field that is beautiful and not something that looks like "The Sandlot". We are limited by what we are allowed to fix, renovate, replace, etc. due to funds. Grants have helped in the past, however we need much more help than the amount of those grants could give. We are solely in this for the kids and for their future baseball/softball experiences. Thank you for your time. ~Kim

  42. Me and my mom dad and sister live in a house that has been in our family since it was made and there is a poisones isolation in the walls it is so bad when can not enter our attic and my room is so small because it is on the side of the room so my ceiling is slanted steep I can't even sand up in some parts we had a closet taped shut and our building have saggy floors and in the winter th ground freezes and then the ground is higher then the door so sometimes we can't get things we need my dad is a lobster fisherman and we have no building to put traps in and another building has the foundation slanted so the bundling could fall over

  48. I would like to nominate my family. Due to the terrible economy, and neither my parents attended college, our living situation has declined over the past few years. Our trailer home is in a dilapdilapidated state. Water damage, thus creating mold. A bad rat infestation, as well as the floor sinking in. Also, just not enough room for the four of us. With myself and my father working with minimum wage currently, we cannot afford to make repairs or facelift things ourselves. The home itself is around twenty years old now. Please. This would be a miracle we need.

  49. Dear Ty,
my name is lillian, I am a single parent with 2 boys,we just recently lost my mom whom I've taken care of for the past 7 yrs.and we are in need of a place that we can call home, and not worry about if we are going to be homeless or not. It would mean the world to me and also my mom.even though she is no longer with us, it's been really hard for me especially since the holidays are coming up.I feel that since I've lost not only my mom, but my best friend, that the next thing I will lose is the home that we are in.so if there is any way you can make a miracle happen for me that would be great.I have never asked for anything my whole life, until now.and I've always put everyone that has been a part of my life first, and myself last.I would really appreciate it if you can do anything to help me out.

  50. First of all me and my father love your show!! Me and my father share this old farm house. Was built in 1895 and is in need of lots of repair and it's very expensive to heat and cool. The roof is in bad shape and has a few leaks. My father is 86 years old and I'm 41 and disabled. We can't make ends meet and don't have enough money to make it thru the month. We have sold about all we can sell to help pay the bills and put food on the table. Is there any way that u all could help me and my father?? I lost my mother may 6 2013 and she use to help us out when we were short on funds and now that she's passed we have no one to give us a hand with some extra money for bills and such. We need help. Plz help me and my father. Plz help us save or home. God bless u all for what u do. P.S. Me and my father have always loved to help others and when someone is in need have always tried to find a way to help. And now we are the ones that need some help. Plz help us. We live just outside of a small Iowa town called Earlham. We love it here and want to stay. A tornado or a straight line wind took our big barn a few years ago and our old cattle shed is falling apart. The was wall has fell in and the roof is really bad. We love u all and what u do for others. Plz help us save our home. God Bless Erin Thomas U can reach me by email.

  53. Hello and Thank you for reading this. My name is Maria Edwards
To give you a little bit of our story I'll start from the beginning.
My mother Lillian Hulse was a teenage mother. She was only fourteen years old when she gave birth to me. My father was abusive so she left him when I was four years old only to protect me. My mother has struggled all her life to keep a roof over our head and clothes on our back. She has worked two jobs her whole life while going to school to better herself. I was a rebellious teenager. I struggled with depression and addiction. I put my mom through a lot and she still always there for me. After several failed relationships, when I was seventeen years old my mom met a man that she fell in love with. They got engaged to be married. Shortly after my mom found out she was pregnant with my sister Savanah. Her and her fiancée bought a house in Jackson NJ. It is a three bedroom ranch on almost a acre of land. When my Savanah was just an infant my mom found out her fiancée was cheating. She left him and was left with this house. My has struggled to keep the house. She has never been late on a payment. She has maintained this house for about twenty years. My mom has not married but done everything by herself. Since then she has become a hoarder. She suffers with depression and anxiety. I am now thirty-nine years old and have been sober for many years now. Savanah is nineteen years old, my mom is fifty three. She moved to Maryland because there were no jobs in NJ in her industry. My mom paid my cousin $1500 and a twenty foot truck to pack up the house and bring it to her in Maryland. My cousin filled it half way and most of the stuff was left here. Again taking advantage of her. I think she possibly might have Cancer that she is not taking care of; she uses work as an excuse. She told me not to tell anyone but how can I not worry about her and her well-being. She has struggled so hard to be successful in life. She has put off finishing her degree because she takes care of everyone else. Most of my relatives have lived here only for them to take advantage of her and her kindness to them. Since our home was condemned after hurricane Sandy and my husband Shawn lost his job. I was laid off from my job. We have struggled to keep a home and stability for our family. My husband and I along with our three children have moved into the house in hopes of cleaning it up, making it livable and making it our home. Its been a such a big struggle to maintain. My husband and I are struggling to gut the house out, work and take care of the children. I guess I put my mother through so much when I tell her "I love you" she says "no you don't you hate me." But she still stands right by my side through all my struggles. Right now my mother is paying for the mortgage for this house. We live here for free in exchange to clean out the house and do all the up keep. I do not want to take advantage of her. I want to show her I love her. I want her to see that all of this life struggle was worth it. I feel like it is a never ending battle with this house. We put everything down in the basement in big contractor bags so that we could clear space up stairs to live. My husband and I sleep on the couch so the kids can have their own beds in their room. The room that we are suppose to have is filled with my moms stuff. Along with that there is stuff down there that my mother saved for twenty years. We can not even afford a dumpster. This house has so much potential. We even have a slab of concrete outside that could have a garage on it but it just sits there vacant. We can not afford to pay my mother for the mortgage. My mother has worked since she was fourteen years old. She is worn down. I love my mother so much for everything that she has done. She still sacrifices. She still struggles. I want to reward her for all the sacrifices that she has made for the last thirty-nine years. I want my mother to be able to take care of herself for once. I want her to know that I love her and appreciate everything that she has done and is doing for me and her grand kids.
I dream of giving her a gift of fixing up this house up and possibly help her with the mortgage. This is summing up the story. There is much more to it. I think this is a win win situation for all of us. Its heart warming story. There are more struggles than I could possibly fit into this letter. Please help me give such a great woman, a great mother and grand mother an unbelievable gift of gratitude and appreciation. She deserves this!
    Thank you very much,

    Maria Edwards

  57. I am writing on behalf of my sister and her family. My sister used to manage a radio station, but two years ago she suffered a bleed on her brain and was later found to have a cavernoma brain tumor. She has a lot of neuroligical defecits which has prevented her from returning to work. She now uses a walker to get around and suffers from headaches daily. My sister was always taking people in that needed help and now she is the one who desperately needs help. Her husband is on disability from having cancer. They currently live in a FEMA trailer that the heat has gone out in and the refridgerator isn't working all the time. She has four children that live with her. They are sleeping in the living room and one bedroom using two borrowed electric heaters to keep warm right now. Their house was damaged in hurricane Katrina. My sister was working then and hired a contractor who didn't do the repairs, but disappeared with the money. My sister and her family currently live on less than $600 dollars a month. There is no money to even replace the refrigerator much less fix the heat. This family lives in a rural area of Mississippi. My sister and her family desperately need a helping hand and a decent place to live with heat and a working refridgerator. Please consider choosing them. Your help would greatly impact their future and show them that when things are the darkest don't give up hope.

  60. Hello my name is Yareth but my family and friends call me Yari.
Iam writing to you today because my girlfriend is from San Antonio and her parents are in need of a new safe home to live in. Jacqueline Garcia, my girlfriend was raised in a home in which was falling apart and as of now still is falling apart. Mr. and Mrs. Garcia are unaware of me doing this because they are the type of people who give and give, but somehow they never get anything in return. Her mother and father Anita and Mario Garcia live there and im afraid theat one day while they are sleeping the roof will fall on them or when they are in the restroom the toilet will fall through the floor. The walls and floors are falling apart, they are hard working people who need a safe an nice home to live in for retirement. Anita hasnt retired yet, but her husband Mario Garcia has. Mr. Garcia picks up summer jobs so that he can be of use for the bills and for little extra money. There are many other people who apply to this and all i hope for is for the best candidate to get chosen. Thank you for your time and god bless you.

  62. I recently consulted with my younger sister about the humility our mother displays despite fierce and unforgiving living conditions a pillar of her community and a constant support to those around her to family's near and far there's almost no limit to which she will go dispite limitations she has been an inspiration to me and countless others her only fault seems she will not ascribe to the help she needs help we cannot provide her home has and is all ways been a sanctuary to those in need and refuge but I fear the means of which she survive the harsh winters is in short supply as is the means for which others can help and provide her devotion is to those in need whether it be clothing shelter gifts spiritual support a friend to awake to in the midst of tragedy her long suffering devotion to be at the hospital bedside to offer moral support and a gentle touch amidst the pain of ones suffering and her soothing laughter so contagious when heard.her living conditions are terrible and she gets through each day saying God will provide and we are to pray for things to get better hearing her positivity and hope is inspiring and you are easy to forget that she lives in a trailer that has been fashioned together with another and an addition added with roof and ceiling fallen in and the cold and snow wind and rain a constant unwelcome guest which is threatening her stored up gifts of clothing literature and all sorts of Christian blessings along with the last of our family's photos and memories as the eldest of several children and a mother of seven grandmother of to many to name right now and graceful host of a community who can testify to her overwhelming kindness and love and lover of animals I nominate Wanda Jean Waters as a Recepient of candidacy and your prayers at least I just learned this thanks giving day that among the troubles of not having a working toilet half a house with no electricity and heat only from an ancient woodstove she now has no running water as the pipes under the trailer have burst I have no I idea the cost of repairs but I am willing to give my social security Ssi check and the security it provides but that's yet days away and she needs the warmth of security now pleAse help my poor mothers blessed heart and pray for her out side her house is the house now a shed she grew up in there is none more deserving and is worse off probably than any other recipient I've seen on your show. sincerely Richard Sheppard. 63. Hello, I am 15 years old and my family has been going through a very bad situation. We come from Colombia a we have lived in the US fro 8 years and a half. About 4 years ago my father got deported. He had lived here longer than my siblings and I. He was the one that maintained us and the household. We lived a pretty decent life. Since then, my mom has done her best to keep up with the bills and our needs. I have a family of 7 now and we live in a 3 bedroom house. Our baseman is flooded and it's very toxic to go down there. Our door hasn't had a doorknob for a year now. We have no heat and no money to pay the oil. Sometimes it gets overwhelming not having a decent space to live in. I think my mom would stress a whole lot less if she had a home to arrive to, knowing that we are okay. It would just be amazing.

  64. Hello Ty,

My name is Yee Vang, I am 34 yrs old, I live in St. Paul, MN with my husband and we have a 12 yr old son name Allizay who we all live in a one bedroom apartment for over 5 yrs now. I recently loss my job due to a back injury. Since losing my job, I've been on unemployment and have been seeking for employment since March 2014. I was so devastated that I decide to go back to school through one of Century College's course for Pharmacy Technician. I finished my study in August 2014 and decided it would help with my current stuggles if I volunteer while giving a little back to my community. So, I am currently a Volunteer for Bethesda Hospital for the pharmacy department which I enjoy and love that each time I am volunteering, I'm giving back and making someone else's job a little easier. I have not yet taken my PTCB exam but with help from my dislocated worker through unemployment for the payment process, I will hear from the PTCB on when I can expect to take my exam. While it is a challenge with all thats going on, I am hopeful that once I take the exam and pass, it will get better. I have so much things going on in my life that the loss of my job and worrying about providing for my child has given me so much depression. As for my husband Sai, he is currently working as a machine operater through a temp agency and everyday I am so worried that he will lose his job or there won't be any work and we'll have to cramp in with family who struggles themselves. I feel so helpless everyday he gets up tired to go to work not getting enough sleep and as soon as he comes home, he gets on his computer and starts working on his bussiness posting ads online trying to make our "American Dream" become a reality. And that is his cycle everyday of the week for the past 8-9yrs. It breaks my heart that I can't be that supportive spouse like before I lost my job. As for my son being 12 yrs old, and living in a one bed room apartment gives him no privacy to nor us the privacy we all need. My husband works second shift so he sleeps during the day so we don't even sleep in the same bed together. Instead my son and I sleep on my bed and when morning comes, my husband will sleep on my son's mattress we lay on the floor by our bed because he also has back pain. Everyday I wake up and realize we could be homeless anyday and that really scares me because I have a child who I am responsible for who deserves better then this.
Before I lost my job, my husband and I always talked about buying a home and bringing both our moms to live with us. My mother is the most caring person, kind, loving, and very special to me. After losing my Dad to kidney failar, she used all the insurance money on my Dad's funeral. Whatever money she received from our relatives in support of our father's death, she used it to pay for my younger brother's wedding. She has done so much for all of us and she recieves so little back. Before my Father's death, my younger brother also died of a heart diease. He was born with a hole in his heart and sadly he died at very young age of only 21. My older brother died when I was only 12 yrs old from a gun accident. My mother has been through so, so, so much and cried so many tears and after losing so many family members, she is still here with us. I always dreamed that one day, I would be able to fullfill one of her dreams by buying a home and she'll live with me for free and happy for the rest of her life.
Growing up, my family was always on food stamps, we had very little and my parents provided the best they could for ten kids.It has been a hard life for my family but I know there are much more people who is in a far worse position then myself so if I am picked I would be lucky and greatful. I thank you for taking time to read my story and please help me make my dream become a reality. Thanks so much!

  68. Hey, I'm Cynthia and I'm really not sure where to start. My mother died in 2010 and she made the mortage payment which has been unreal anyway but we struggled to make it just barely. We never had extra money to do anything fun but we always made sure keep the lights on and had a roof over our head. My house has been in the family for over 100 years and of course it needs a lot of work but it has housed a lot of people. My parents taught me when I was a child to open your home and heart up to people in need and give them a home. This all started for me when I started kindergarden and has continued until now. My parents were foster parents, took in grown ups, kids who had parents that just didn't care, and they taught me to do the same. I've had I don't know how many of my own children to bring home kids that needed a place to live and have lived with me for several years and feel like my own. I've even taken in grown ups as well and had custody of my grandchildren until my child could get their health issues under control. I lost my job in 2012 and in the city in which i live there are not many job opportunities as well as I was raising two small children. Now I am going to school to futher my education but I am losing my farm and have been told that my house basically is not really suitable to live in. My ex-husband whom I let live with me for 7 years because he had no where to live decided to take my central unit out of my house and sell for scrap. He put me a new front door up and you can see outside he left so much room where he cut the door so short so I have to take a beach towel and stuff under the door to help keep out the cold and heat. My roof leaks and is falling in in my living room, half of my wiring doesn't work in part of the house, I have 2 bathrooms in which both of them only half work in each. The back half of the house is colder inside than outside and I'm fixing to be forced to move out because I can't pay the mortage and have nowhere to go. I have a cousin who is willing to buy the farm to keep it in the family and sell my son some of the land back and the lot where the house is but like I sd it needs so much work. I would really like it if you would consider helping me so I can continue to help others like I always have. My son is away and will be home in 2016 and his wife was just killed in a car wreck in October. When he gets home he will get his son back and they will come home to me but they can't come to that house in the shape it's in. I have 7 grandchildren that are my life and they know that Nana's house is there house and always has been. They want to know where they are going to call home now when they are used to that being their home as well and 4 of them have been brought home from the hospital there and raised somewhat of their life there. I'm trying to find a place to live now but I'm not having much luck. Thank God for my son who lives next door and is letting me sleep on his couch. He has a family of his own and I don't want to intrude on their life and be a burden to them. I really feel like I have failed as a mother and a Nana because of what I'm going thru. Thank you for your time and consideration.

  69. iv recently moved in with friends.i was in a very bad accident and lost everything i worked so hard to get. this family let my daughter and i move in even tho they to have been having a hard time.she has become disabled, she has something that turns her tendents into taffy. she has had her arms put back into place 3 times and now she is looking to have them fused. he was doing work on the roof over a year and half ago and fell off and shatterd his foot. he has had maltiple procedures on it, it got to the point they just put a cadaver bones in it,he just 2 weeks ago has been able to take a few steps without his cruches. he has also been fired from his job of over 15 yrs do to him being out for over a yr.all this and they still let me move in, however i can only do so much to help. the house is rotting around them and theres nothing they can do to fix it. there mold everywhere, the roof is shot it has moss growing all over it,the whole front side is bowing and leaks, the floors are falling apart, the windows are so bad, it gets so cold and moist in here theres always someone sick one way or another, whether its being caused by mold or the dampness or both.iv never seen 2 people so deserving of help than these 2 people and there daughter. they are always helping everybody else whether hes fixing there cars, trucks, anything really, hes really good with his hands and knows what hes doing but he dose it extremely cheep conpaired to others cause he wants to help the people. they also do woodworking for people, again cheeper than they should, but again thats the kind of people they are. i dont know what to say to get you to give these people a look so please please give them a chance for something they so much need and deserve. theres tons of friends and family that will help, i know it. the only thing they dont have anymore is the ability or the money to do it them self. it has been an extremely hard 2yrs for them and they saved my daughter and i from being homeless.i want this for them. sincerly just a friend, sarah kirkpatrick

  70. Hi we are the Norfleets and we are in dire need of one of your angelic homemakeovers. We have a small old 4bedroom house in tacoma, wa. My mother in law took over when her mother passed follwed by 2 of her adult kids loosing their homes and moving in with her along with their family. We have a household of 9, 4 adults and 5 small kids ranging from 5-9 years old. My mother in law has her own bedroom my sister in law shares a tiny bedroom with her 9 year old son and my 4 boys share 1 room with mattresses lined up on the floor. Our 4th bedroom is so small it can only be used as a closet, so my husband and i sleep on a mattress downstairs in the open den.Our house is soo old most of the wall sockets have stopped workinh along with our oven and heater, forcing us to light candles at night to keep warm. Most of the piping is old and leakes water when we take showers upstairs to where anyday now the roof could fall down on us at anytime. My mother in law was a longtime chaplain at pierce county jail followed by a chaplain and counselor at the tacoma rescue mission until politics got in the way and she was forced to resign. My husband was a forklift driver at a well known warehouse until our living situation got the best of him and he suffered a mental breakdown causing him to loose his job. My mother in law and husband struggle everyday to find a job just to keep the roof over our heads and has had no luck yet. My sister in law works ay a daycare full-time which helps the bills tremendously. I work a part time job which i struggle with everyday. Ive been at my job for 4 years and last year while i was the manager on duty i was robbed at gunpoin. The effects of that was me being diagnosed with ptsd severe anxiety and depression. Out of fear i stepped down in my position as a full time manager to a part time cashier. The struggles we face everyday are that much greater and rougher having kids who depend on us for everyday necessities that we too often are unable to supply for them. We cant afford to fix the things that need fixing. Were not even asking for a new cosmetic look. Sincerely a family in need of heat through the storm.

  71. I have a neighbor, aged 28+/-, who's confined to a wheelchair. I have seen him out in his yard cleaning up trash and piling it in heaps which friends have taken away to the dump. He can't walk but has managed, through physical therapy, to learn to stand. He's always cheerful, courteous and pleasant when I see him. He has a dog named Dog.

The City has told him his house is virtually uninhabitable and he agrees with that. But where should he go? We get subzero temperatures here in the winter and I know he is cold. He owns the land the current mobile home stands on, I believe. He needs a decent place to live. I think that neighbors and residents would help with new construction.

  72. Hello my name is Terry. I am doing this for my aunt. My aunt is 61 and unemployed. The house we live in is in very bad shape. The foundation is sinking and the roof needs to be replaced. There is about a 9 inch space between the floor and the baseboard in one part of the house. The front door does not close all the way so, whatever weather there is outside you feel all of that in the living room. In the kitchen and the bathroom, there are holes in the ceiling in both rooms. When it rains we have to put out buckets and bowls to catch the rain. The original house was built in 1957 and is a single family home with 2 bedrooms downstairs, a kitchen, a bathroom, a living room and a small dining area. There was an addition added to the back of the house in 1993 and this is the part that is currently falling down. I know the house is unsafe to live in but the house has a lot of memories in it. My grandmother passed in 2007 and left the house to my aunt. Also my daughter was born in this very house. It would be greatly appreciated if you would take into consideration my situation. I am employed at a hotel that Ty Pennington stayed at when the were redoing a house in Salisbury Maryland. I was just going out on a limb and doing this because I know you get quite a few applications such as this one every day. Thank you in advance for at least looking at my application.

  73. My grandparents house has always been home for me. But right now it's barely able to even be lived in. My grandma passed away about 10 years ago and my grandpa got really sick. We almost lost him about 5 years ago, but God spared him. Now he's got dementia so bad my mom had to quit her job to take care of him. Right now it's my mom, grandpa, and brother living in the house and it is falling apart. The walls are shifting the floor is falling in. There are parts of the floor where you can look through into the basement. They get rats and snakes that move in, and last year were infested with squirrels. There isn't enough insulation to keep it warm in the winter and it's just no longer a safe place for my grandpa. It's only a matter of time before the place falls in. It breaks my heart to see my family living like this. My mom is a single mother who raised me and my brother and sister by herself waiting tables. She has always worked to take care of us and she is so stressed it out about all of this that she has been diagnosed with depression. Please consider helping my family. Without this house they have nothing. Thank you for reading my story and please help.
