Hey there! My name is Jordon and I would like to tell you my mother's story. She is 41 years old and a survivor of multiple heart diseases. She is going on her third year of having a heart transplant. She had dialated cardiomyopathy, an enlarged heart, and congestive heart failure. She has been on life support many times where the doctors have prepared the whole family for the worse. She always makes it out better than ever. She is now on SSI and only gets around 750 a month and her check barely covers all her living costs. The house She lives in has many problems that she can not afford to fix. It would be a huge burden off her shoulders if you could help. She is not able to work to be able to afford the home renovations she so desperately needs. Please consider my mom when you pick out the families to help. She really needs and deserves this. Thank you so much for taking the time to read my post. Have a blessed day and happy thanksgiving!
Mr. Pennington, I am not sure if you will read this or if you can even help. Moreover I am not even sure how to ask or where to go from here. My family lost my Grandmother in a tragic house fire this past weekend. As tragic and heartbreaking as her loss is to us the loss of our family home is more than we can handle. The Home was built in 1834 and sits on a historic street of other Victorian homes. Our insurance company has stated that it would take one million to repair the home and the most our policy will pay us for the home and contents is five hundred thousand. This loss is made more tragic due to the time of year. This home was the hub of all family holidays for the last four generations. The memories of good times around the dining room table of strangers off the street invited in for thanksgiving, fourth of July any reason for a party all were welcome and knew the Hogg family was the place to go. The tears, joy and love of an entire family up in flames. I am heartbroken mostly because I feel I have failed my family. I have always been groomed as the replacement to my grandfather who passed back in 2002 I was supposed to be the new hub… My family has no one else with the education and means to do so. My mother has only a h.s. education my aunt is handicapped. My failure to become the man I should have been should not punish my family. I served in the Marine Corps and upon return made some good and some bad choices long story short I am finally on the cusp of success at AFLAC but not soon enough to save our family. I have reached out to the Ohio historical society and am looking at grants for historic homes from other sources I am willing to take out a loan for whatever I can qualify for however I fear none of this will be enough. I know you no longer do the makeover show I know this is not your responsibility or problem its mine but I am hoping you can at least point me in the right direction or give me some contacts and help me save my families most cherished thing we have left….it's not about the money or even the house its the glue that this place provided us our hub our lynch pin that has kept our family together in good times and bad. I fear the loss of it will have our family drift apart which was probably the one thing that my grandmother would not want. Again I don't know if this is something you will see or can help with if you do I just know that watching the show in years prior and seeing you tear up and me along with you and what you did for families in the past tells me you are a good man who wants to help. I just did not want to leave any stone unturned and I guess to some degree just wanted to get my feelings out.

Hello Ty,
On a whim I have decided to take a chance. My family lives in a small town in Texas, you have actually been a few miles away on another project. I am desperately needing assistance in every aspect of my family's life. With my husbands injury unable to get fixed until some kind of insurance replies earning money to pay the bills has been my responsibility. With this economy living in a small town jobs are unlikely. We have two amazingly understanding children. Times are hard these days and it breaks my heart that my 10 ur old daughter understands how it is to struggle. Our two bedroom mobile home is far from finished. With no income the bills are lucky to be paid. When we first stepped foot on this property we knew this is where our home was. Lie has caused both my husband and I to make poor choices. I am proud to say that together we have battled addiction, rejection, isolation, and poverty. The two of us that are addults can overcome those conditions, however my 10 ur old daughter and 8 year old son should not have to be willing to sleep on the couch some nights to allow us to have the chance to sleep beside one another. If we could just fix our home it would eliminate so much stress from our lives and I hope that it would motivate my husband to recognize and use his many qualities. Every one needs a break now and then, I am praying that its our turn.
Keeping high spirits,
The Hass family (April is my name)

I don't normally do things like this without telling my mom but is told Vince I was going to write something because my mom does deserve this makeover for her health reason and just because of all of her hard work trying to feed anyone she could but especially young kids from other towns . I hear her pray for someone to come and help them and me and my brother decide that the house was to bad even for us so weave out but we are close by to check on her , we are so thankful for Vince yes he's been in our lives forever and his kids which we all call ourselves sisters & brother and I don't have any kids but there are six grand kids all together, God has blessed our family with lots of love and we are pray everyday for the day when mom's transplant surgery is scheduled . We know she will be fine , she keeps herself busy taking care of her mom and family or she thinks she taking care of everyone she funny but I love her so much and I or we and I cannot count how many but we all hope they mommy & Vincent get this makeover and the reason there is no video yet is bc I borrowed the recorder for an outing with my friends and by the end of the day one of my so called friends had stolen my moms recorder so I hope that doesn't hurt their chances . I don't know If I said that she is ( mom ) allergic to her house and the medicine are starting not to work anymore . Thank you Ty…..
My name is Alicia O'Shea, I have no way to send a video. But I have someone who is VERY deserving of your guys help. My mother was a single mother of 4 kids for 8 years, working 60+ hours a week, plus going to school full time and still had to selling her blood to put food on the table. She remarried and found out her husband was an alcoholic after putting him into rehab 4 times paying for everything because he kept losing his jobs, she got sick. Dealing with 4 kids, drunken husband, working full time, family stressors, everything being on her shoulders & Struggling with depression, anxiety, & bipolar. She broke, and hasn't been the same person I knew all my life since…she hasn't been able to work in 2 years, & her husband left her as soon as he heard she wouldn't be able to support him anymore ( her job paid more than him working 2 jobs) and he didn't want to live off disability. She is about to lose her house and live in my grandparents 1 bedroom house with my 3 brothers and herself in the basement. Her life fell apart all at once with the getting sick, losing her job, getting a divorce and she isn't able to pick up the pieces. Please, if your reading this take my mother into consideration. This is someone who built herself up from nothing and fell back down. She doesn't know how to build herself up again because she put everyone before herself and is never going to be the same because of it. There is no one more deserving of her, she's worked her ass off all her life. Just to have nothing to show for it… Please! In some way help my mother
My name is Katrina, I live in southeast michigan with my mother who is 65 years old and I am 22 still living here to take care of her needs. I was born in Russia and she adopted me when I was 8 months old. 4 years later she got multiple sclerosis which has stopped her from being able to take care of our home due to all of her disability finances. Disability charged her money this year that she now has to pay them back for wheelchairs and other things she has needed over the past year. I'm going back to school in January and I just want her to have a better home. The roof has been leaking and the basement is over flooding with junk that she can't physically walk down the stairs to see, and she doesn't have enough money to pay a company to repair our roof. She hired a cleaning service to help clean out home and they never cleaned anything that needed to be cleaned. She still works full time at wayne state university and I work 4 days a week at a bar. I do what I can to help get things organized around the house but there isn't enough space for everything. She has never been married either so when I'm not around the house doesn't have enough room for her to organize her belongings. She adopted me and have me a roof over my head and I would do anything to give something back to her. Watching her struggle everyday is hard. I just want to see her happy and not have to worry about her home falling apart because out family does not want to send her to a nursing home later down the road. I would really love to hear back from you please and thank you
Hi my name is Amanda and I would like to have extreme home makeover fix my sister Bethany's house because she is having a really tough time right now because her husband died from cancer and she is having to work double shift to be able to pay for her house and other essentials and really just needs better living conditions to help get her mind off of her husbands death. So please consider helping her out it would mean a lot to her and the family.
For the past four years my family has lived in a home that is falling apart, literally. About four years ago the ceiling in our kitchen colasped and has been gone since, we have a clear tarp holding the installation into place but it is all still visible as well as the beams that run across the ceiling. Our oven, bathtub and washer machine are all falling into the floor. They all are just on the other side of the wall from one an other and due to foundation problems the floor is crumbling underneath them all. I have grown up in this house my entire life, it is home. We have five people in my family, my two older brothers, myself and my parents. My mom refuses to leave this house because she doesn't want to move away from her children. Unfortunately we are able to finance the renovation that we need to fix all of these issues. Ten years ago my mother had brain surgery to correct a dysfunctional valve that is used by the brain to drain fluid, the doctor gave her five years to live.. She made it seven years but unfortunately had to have the surgery again to replace the vavle that was put in place the first time. During the second surgery the doctors found a tumor. Due to the location of the tumor the doctors cannot do anything to address it. Since then the medical bills have crippled my family to its core. She has continued to keep moving and still works full time to help bring in money but it's never enough. My dad even took a job as a USA truck driver in order to help with our financial situation and has been gone for the majority of the four years. But the bills continued to pile up and we have never been able to get our feet back on the ground. We need help. We need extreme home makeover to save us! Please help us!
Hello. I would like to nominate my best friend Cheri Duncan. On November 20th, 2014, a fire destroyed Cheri's home and claimed the life of her 18 year old daughter, and my friend, Morgan Duncan. Cheri has another daughter, Melissa White, who lost her only sister and has opened her home to her mother as they try to rebuild everything that they lost. And search for a way to live on without their daughter and sister. Please, please select my friends, they need all the help they can get, they couldn't afford home owners insurance and Morgan didn't have life insurance. Anything would help. Please. Thank you for your consideration.
Hello,
My name is Laura I'm from Brevard North Carolina. I have a friend that is in dire emergency of getting her house fixed she has four or five grandchildren that she has gotten custody of and their aunt was with them to help. the roof is caving in the porch is caving in the water pump is bad these children have been through a lot with their mom up and leaving them. The state will not give her any help and it makes me very sad to see her in this situation. She doesn't know that I am trying to apply for some help for her. I would love for it to be a surprise. Pleas, I am begging you, help this lady and her grandchildren!!
This request is not for me but for a family I know that I believe is more deserving. There names are Arnold and Harriet Hamilton and they live in Bakersfield, Ca. They have an adult retarded son living with them which necessitates a very high maintenance. They also have adopted their daughters 12 year old son, which includes another member of the household that requires some additional high maintenance. Arnold is a hard working auto mechanic and always includs repair work, aside from his job with church members and friends on the week-end. He has such a willing and helpful way about him. Last year his home was burglarized and many things were stolen. Not that the items were of great value but they were things that were hard for them to replace. The income in this family is extremely hard to live with but Arnold always has a smile. Their home is very old and in terrible shape–no a/c and re-mortgaged to the limit. If this family could be considered it would bless not only their hearts and put immense joy into their lives but it additionally bless me. Thank You
I decided to take a chance and try this. I see all these comments and am not sure why I will even try as so many are heart retching. But I figured it couldn't hurt.
I am posting to nominate my sister and her husband. They live in Texas. They have 4 kids and going on 9 grandchildren. They both work and are very hard workers. They own their home. My brother-in-law travels to NM as often as he can to even help his parents in their home. His dad suffers from Alzheimer's but his mom is trying to keep him at home for as long as possible and their 8 year old grand daughter lives with them and helps watch out for him. My sister and my brother-in-law have opened up their home to many people in need, including my husband and myself when we became homeless after my mother passed after a month of traveling back and forth to see her as she was slowly dying. Because of all they have done for everyone else, they have not been able to keep up on the up keep of their home. The roof is leaking badly, to the point their is a major waterfall in the living room whenever it rains. There is leaks all over the house, at least one in each room. The kitchen needs many improvements as do the bedrooms. They have given so much to so many. They have blessed many in need when they have had very little. They have gone without so others could have much. My sister had to cash in her retirement funds to help cover funeral expenses for our mom as well as take out a loan from her boss to help. She is a strong Christian and reaches out to so many people on so many levels. Upon the death of my mom I had lost faith in so much but my sister still continues to believe God is taking care of them. I know I am probably one of the very least of these requests, by far, but as I said, I figured I would just try. Thank you and God bless!

My husband and I recently bought a new home in Stafford, VA. However there are a lot of things that we were trying to get done throughout. My husband has been beyond busy while serving as an active duty Marine. However, he had to cut his career short due to medical issues. Which he stresses really bad about. We now worry about him landing a job after he separates in October of 2015. Until then he has been doing the whole Marine thing, working at another job on the weekends, going to college, being a husband/dad, and lastly attempting to be Mr. Fix it. With all of this on his plate we as a family feel he deserves a break and something good to go his way.
Hi I am writing this on behalf of a great friend of mine his names jerry he has given so much to friends and family that now he has nothing he has had three heart attacks and is now disabled he used what back pay he got to build a little cabin on some land he found he has no one to help him and is trying to do this all on his own his health is poor and I am so afraid that if he don't get some kind of help this will be the death of him but he is so hard headed that he keeps trying I am asking you for help to make His dream come true thank you
Hi my name is Brittani and i am a mother of 2 children my husband is unemployed and our home needs some remodeling we live with my parents and my mom and dad do everything to take care of us our home is really small myself my husband and my two children are all in one bedroom and every time my newborn son cry's my daughter wakes up so its difficult we do not have enough room for all 7 of our family in our 3 bedroom double wide i work a minimum wage job and i have not had any luck with more money Christmas this year is already slim and all i would want for Christmas is for my family to not be so cluttered and have more room for our children to sleep at night my daughter is 2 years old and my son is 2 month old my little brother is 11 years old and my mother and father both work to help my husband and i get on our feet so our children can have there own home or at least there own bedrooms and not have to live cluttered with 4 people in one bedroom its so rough but it would defiantly be a blessing to have a chance to have a Christmas for once where my children are not cluttered and have there own bedroom to put there toys instead of them being piled in the living room.

Good afternoon! My husband and I are both combat veterans. We've been married almost 5 years and have two beautiful children, ages 3 and 1. We purchased our home while we were still in Iraq, knowing this was a fixer upper, we were eager to get started. Soon after we got home, my husband broke his foot when he feel through a Celieng and was unable to work for almost a year. During that time we became pregnant with our daughter. We re-did our flooring (sub and surface) shortly after she was born. Since then, my husband has been diagnosed with PTSD and bipolar. He had a episode about two years ago resulting in another broken foot, and out of work for almost 6 months. During that time, was the goveent shut down, I was among the furloughed government employees. Our floors are again sagging and separation from the walls. We've re done the floors a total of 3 times and we know our foundation is the issue. With everything that has happened, we can not even begin to fix our home. It stays hot and cold, resulting in high electricity bills. We would greatly appreciate your help. Thank you!

I am a North Dakota woman nominating a family for a Home Makeover. The family includes mom, dad and two children. This past summer the dad at no charge cut our tree. I was very impressed
Today his father, Wayne, informed me that he stayed at the house. Wayne said the house is so cold that the furnace made it up to maybe 50 degrees this week! They have very very poor insulation. The electrical is bad also. The insulation is almost nonexistant. Wayne bought them oil heaters but every time they use them they blow fuses.
The family lives in Wyoming. During this Thanksgiving season, I know from the bottom of my heart that they would be very, very appreciative of a home makeover! Thank you!

Hi my name is Sarah Morse we live in Grand Junction Colorado. I want to help my uncle Bobby for the show. He runs a farm out here mostly by himself. Our family helps out a few times of year with doing the corn field and slottering chickens cows and pigs. They sell the meat to keep the farm going. His farm could use a lot of help. Over the years I have watched patch job after patch job he can't afford to fix what needs fixed. He also helps us out a lot with giving us meat because there is extras most the time. He's ran this farm for as long as I can remember and he helps when and where he can. He is also diabetic and could stand to have it a little bit easier. I have pictures of everything. It's greatly appreciated if he could get the help he needs. The farm has been handed down through the family and I'd hate to see it go to waste.

Oh my. I had my comment all typed and lost it somewhere so I will start over. My name is Bonnie McConnell. I am not one to ask for handouts but my father truly needs a miracle. He spends everyday sitting in his pickup truck on his property looking at his burnt home. His mibile home burnt in 2013. He and my stepmom are currently staying at my stepsisters home. And although they are very grateful to have a place to sleep eat and bathe it isnt an ideal situation. My stepsister has had numerous strokes and that has left her unable to work or live a normal life like th rest of us do. I am asking you to please help my dad. He has aleays been a hard worker, a great father, a wonderful provider and a true believer in God. He fell off his roof in 2008 while trying to remove ice from his roof. We almost lost him several times during the year he spent in the hospital. His injuries have left him not able to do physically what he once was. He cant mow his grass or work in his yard. He cant even tear down his own home to start to rebuild. Noe it is winter anf im just not sure how he will fair. He loves to go into town every morning and get his donut and coffee then he drives over to his property and sits in his truck with his laptop. His life is so idle now anf it breaks my heart. He has always been a working man. He worked the steel mills most of his life. When they shut down he went to school and became an airline mechanic. That took him to San Francisco for years and we rarely got to see him. I love my dad so much and wish I was fiancially able to help him but I am not. His medical bills have left him strapped. He is forever the optimist. 🙂 He always tells me God will take care of him. Please consider helping my dad. Thank you so much for your time and consideration

My name is Lori I am 42 , My husband is Chris and he is 47. We are the parents of two wonderful teenagers, both with special needs. My daughter, Sarah who is 19 was born with Erb's Palsy due to a traumatic birth injury,She has very limited mobility of her left arm and hand and is unable to preform some daily tasky others would do with out thought. At age 8 she was later diagnosed with Wolff parkinson white syndrome which meant she had an extra pathway in her heart. She underwent surgery for this. In her early teen years she also developed a few mental issues as well. We work though of these things and adapt whenever possible but she struggles day to day with how hard her life had been and continues to be. She has extreme seperation anxiety and phobias that she cannot control. This leaves her living full time at home and in pretty much constant contact with me. She doesn't do well to be left home alone. To add to that I have really bad knees and cannot stand or walk for long periods of time , cannot kneel at all and find stairs difficult to climb and descend. so I have found it extremely difficult to maintain work. My son, Christopher, was diagnosed with ADHD as a small boy and was also dealing with sensory issues that made him difficult to handle. he struggled in school for many years but has as a teenager learned to control himself much better. My husband tries his hardest to make enough money to support our family. he is a full time mechanic at a local ski resort. He ensures that the public is safe at all times. He services and repairs all of the ski lifts, snow groomers and service vehicles that keep the public safe and having fun. His job can be very dangerous and stressful at times. To add to this, his poor body is wearing out, he is in pretty much constant pain in his hips and back, I worry about his all the time, When he is not working at his job he is assisting friends or relatives with their own repairs. He is truly stretched very thin. My husband is the only one working at this time and our annual income is below the poverty line for a family of 4. He is a mechanic not a carpenter and the place we own in very run down and in desperate need of repair! We live in a 1995 mobile home that has a leaky roof, spongy floors, counter tops that are broken and falling apart. Our oven works when it wants, there are holes in our floors, our linoleum is ripped in multiple places. Our windows leak air and are single pane windows. We live in Upstate NY and our winters are very difficult to get through. we have an addition on the back of the trailer that was never built correctly and the roof accumulated ice and water build up over the winter and leaks. we don't have any kind of walls in the addition inside.. just studs and insulation with housewrap on the inside and outside.as well as the ceilings, the floors are all chipboard. To say that it is in rough shape would be a serious understatement. I am truly ashamed to allow people to come into my home because of the state of it.
Even though we would by most people's standards be considered poor, I feel there are always those who are worse off than us and need my help so i will give and go without. It is better to have a giving spirit than to have a selfish one and worry about noone but yourself. I have dedicated myself for years to helping those in need. My family agrees with this as well. I like to anonamously donate bags of groceries to struggling single moms. I have filled a station wagon floor to roof, front to back with blankets, pillows, personal hygien items, water etc for hurricane relief efforts. We have gathered and collected winter wear care packages for the homeless including warm socks, hats, gloves, hand warmers, blankets, instant coffee and powdered milk, snack foods and personal hygien items. I gathered enough items to give 50 care packages and that same day, we delivered a meal of goulash , roll, butter, and a drink for 100 to the homeless day shelter on Christmas eve, I started a facebook page: http://facebook.com/HelpWheneverPossible encouraging others to give generously of their time, and help those in need. This year I started a "giving tree" that I started purchasing Christmas gifts for small children who would otherwise not have a great Christmas because their parents struggle from day to day like we do. These are just a few of the things we do to help out our fellow man. We encourage our children to be involved to pass on the concept of giving to those who need a hand up. Are there more deserving families out there? I'm sure there are. It is my hope that those families are helped out first and if there is then anything left over, your show could come find my family and bring some much needed help into our lives as well. Thank you for your consideration,
The Beach Family
Hey my name is Chasity, I'm writing about my mother. She is 39 years old she just recently had her 5th back surgery about 2 weeks ago. She has a metal bar in place of her spine from her tail bone all the way up to just below her neck. She was released from the hospital 2 weeks after this surgery because she dosnt have medical insurance. She can't even walk yet let alone care for my 7 year old brother and 8 year old sister. Since she was in the hospital her house has been destroyed, trash every where, the neighbors dogs have used the bathroom all over her house. She hasn't been able to work in a long time due to these surgeries and is waiting for disability. I live about an hour away from her and am not able to help her the way she needs. She lives in a 3 bedroom trailer on 10 acres of land in marlow Oklahoma. The house is in such a wreck she can barley move around in her wheel chair. The worst part of her situation is her bathroom. She can not fit through the hallway to get into there let alone fit in the bathroom it's self. She can't get to the bathroom so she has been using bowls. I worry most about my little brother and sister because they are helpless. They have no one to help them. My grandpa who use to help take care of them died a few months ago from stage 4 brain cancer. The rest of our family lives out of the state. I've seen the show and see how you guys help so many people!! I think my mom really needs this, And mostly my brother and sister. Please help my family!
Hi, my name is Angienette Charles and I am writing in for my mom, who is a 67 year old widow that is helping to take care of my 42 year old sister who has an incurable disease called Fredrick's Ataxia and her son. My mother's home is old. There is no installation in the home. There are holes everywhere. Parts of the house was just put together. The home has a festation in the attic which is being covered by a heavy piece of plastic. The house itself is stressed. It is tearing at the seams and is a major fire hazard. I am a single mother of 3 and my mother is my world and all I want to do is my best for her and by her. Ever since my father died in 2003, she has not had anyone or have not been able to financially fix her home to the proper standards. When it is cold outside, it is cold in the house. She warms her home with the stove. And when it is hot, it is hot in the house as well. I know there may be people out there with a more severe story but I don't know how long my sister will be able to keep up her independenc with her disease because it takes over the nervous system and soon we will have to make the home suitable for her. This will be truly God sent and a wonderful blessing if my mother was chosen. She is a Christian woman and will be truly grateful. I will be truly grateful. When my mother closes her eyes and is not here for me to hug anymore, I want to be able to smile and know that I did good by her. God Bless!!!!!!
My name is Jody Musselman and I live in a small, close-knit community in Northern Michigan. This week we were devastated by a tragic and senseless act of violence. A childhood friend, and mother of four was murdered in front of her children by her estranged husband who then took them to her parents home and murdered her step-father and tried to kill her mother. The children were able to escape and flee to the local neighbor, who is also a sheriff deputy. Tiffany Eckler-Ferguson was a beautiful person inside and out. Everything she did was for her children, family, friends, and community. Her step-father, Jim Webber, was the same. A quiet, giving man. always willing to help others. This family now has two homes filled with horror and plans are underway to build a new home on family property. Our community is in the process of raising money for Tiffany and Jim's burial and then to build a new home for Shirley and Tiffany's four beautiful children. I have attached a link to her memorial page and the media page FB Tiffany Eckler Ferguson Memorial Page memberscu.com

If there was ever a need for an Extreme Makeover and a new start this family needs one. They can no longer live in either of these homes. Shirley has lost her husband and daughter and taken on the task of raising four children age 3 to 13 who have been traumatized by this horrific event. Our town will never be the same and we will miss these two people forever. As we rally behind this family and surround them in love and support, I am asking if you would consider them for one of your make over events.
Sincerely,
Jody Musselman
I love love love the show and would also love to be on the show. The home we live needs some work and we need another bedroom. We are all sick and disabled and on fixed incomes that very much limits our abilities. I have cancer and undergoing treatments currently and need a better home to live in that would be healthier. Keep up the really great shows!

Dear extreme home makeover people. I was wondering if I could apply for one of the home makeover episodes. The reason I wanted to apply is because of the house I am living at is at a very bad state. The hole house is basically falling apart and we dont have the money to fix it. We have a few parts in the sealing that have holes in them with plastic to hold up whats left of that part of the sealing which isn't much longer til they fall as well. Half of the floor is falling apart and slot of the tile is gotten taken away. Almost every window in the house has been broken and there are a ton of holes in the walls. The front and back porch weren't properly build when the house was build. We're just saying is that we would like you're help on our house because I live with 4 other people and before the house falls apart.
I am a 16 year old girl and I have a daughter. I am currently living with my grandmother. We live in a single wide trailer. And it is in bad condition. The trailer is a 2 bed 1 bath but the trailer is only made for 1 person. In the winter it gets really gold and in the summer it gets really hot. We live on a dirt road also. We have 2 dogs and 1 cat. We just need a bigger house.
ive lived in a small town called Lyon Mountain in upstate NY for most of my life.it was a small mining town back in the early 1900"s until around 1960. My parents raised 6 children and then raised 4 more of their grandchildren. They live in a big old house that is not only way too big for them but is also in need of repairs. The house was built in the late 1800's. My mom is on oxygen 24/7 and has been very sick over the past few years. My dad has fallen many times in the past few years resulting in many broken bones and almost freezing to death because he had fallen outside getting the newspaper and no-one could hear him screaming for help! Thjey are both retired and can not afford to update this house so that they can live safely..I understand that there are a lot of people that deserve to have this, but not only do my parents deserve this but there are a lot of older people in this little town that could really use some help! Please consider my story, we really need some help
Hey my name is Brittney I'm 18 years old. I just moved with my dad about four years ago and our house is falling apart my dad wife left him 6 years ago with this huge house and my dad let the house go down hill he's a single parent taking care of 3 kids and two that has new born and a 1 year old baby.. The basement walls is pealing so bad it's so scary to even going down there. Mold all over the walls , water leakage..old belongings , water pipes always breaking because everything is so old the wood is so breakable it's ridiculous..they first got the house when I was 1 years old. My dad haven't even took the time out to fix it by being a single parent and working his butt off everyday for us. The carpet is really dirty even a carpet cleaner couldn't help it , all the walls in the house are not breaking through due to the raining the back room, my room , my brother room and also the attic me and my little brother has huge holes in the top wall. Everytime it rains it falls through so I use little buckets to hold it.Mostly all the windows are old and dusty you can barley see out of them they all cracked so it makes the house even more colder , the tub grows mold. The bathroom wall leaks while taking a shower so it's like two showers , we had a huge back porch but due to the rain storms made it tear apart and the wood isn't safe..the gutters are falling down outside the house even the porch was leaving water before my dad fixed it. I work two jobs also going to school I try my best to help him. I hate seeing my dad struggling paying all the utility's by him self and we're not on welfare..I just want somebody to helps us! We can't move because my dad has like $25,000-30,000 more to pay off the house and it's not worth it at all. I'm tired of living like this and embarrassed of letting people even step a foot in here , I never been ungrateful I'm happy for everything I have because other people don't have a roof over there head I just wanna hand I can't do it by myself! I hope you get this message..I just wanna have atleast a comfrontable house!!
God bless <3 hope to hear back from you soon..
Hello my name is Altra I am a preachers kid. Every one might think that being a pk is everything they have everything not in this family. We are a family of 6 with 3 bedrooms and a basement. My dad is a pastor but he doesn't do it to get paid he does it because he was called to do it. My mom is a banker and she has been in banking for 17 years. I have 3 siblings 2 brother (24,17) 1 sister (22).
My two brother share a pull out couch in the basement and me and my sister have a room next to my mom.
My father hordes paper every where you look it paper in the kitchen, basement floor, bedrooms everywhere. He think it doesn't matter because he is going to need it in the future but he is not going to find it with everything that's piked on top of it (you should see it). It makes the kids upset because we cant have company because his paper is every where we have to clean it up. He gets mad when we bother it its crazy. Our basement ceilings are gone and u can see mold and the pipes all through the ceiling. The water leaks from upstairs to downstairs so it has a smell. Our utility room is dangerous it has bikes , paper and everything that he hordes. I often go to my friends house and i look and think to myself why cant our house be this way. I become down alot of times. Im just tired of living like this i should feel comfortable with my friends coming over and not embarrassed. I don't want a house we want a home a comfortable home to live in. Can you please help us. This would be a blessing to us .

Hello. I know you receive a lot of applications and comments and might not have time to read them all. Hopefully you're able to read mine. My name is Amy and I am from MI. I would like to nominate my mother in-law, Ethel, and my father in-law, Floyd. They live in the thumb of MI. Within the past few years, Floyd found out he had bone cancer. The did treatments, medicine, etc., but nothing worked. This year, 2014, it spread so bad into his leg that he had to have surgery. He would come home from work and be in so much pain and his leg would be swollen. This is the first year he hasn't worked and he just got approved disability a few months ago. He got the surgery in the summer and a month or so after, they actually thought the cancer came back and were going to have to amputate his leg. It was a false alarm. So far, they haven't had to amputate. Just about a month ago, Ethel, went into the ER because she was screaming in pain. Her BP was over 200 and a few hours of not being able to get it down, she got transferred to Covenant in Saginaw, MI. She ended up having to have emergency surgery and had 8 ft of her intestine removed. She was in ICU for about 2-3 days. All together, she was in the hospital for almost 2 weeks. She is now off work as well and she just started her new job not even 1 month before the incident. They have lived in their house for about 27 years. They have 6 kids and 16 grandchildren. Their youngest child is about 24 and she still lives with them. They have a very old farmhouse with a Michigan Basement. It is literally infested with fleas/ticks, mice and rats. When it's quiet in the house, you can here the rodents in the walls, running across the floors. I have seen multiple rats in the basement. The basement always is flooding and the windows and doors aren't sealed so they always leak and it is very cold in there during the winter, especially upstairs. There is 2 bedrooms upstairs, 1 bedroom downstairs, and the laundry room. It is small and hard for Floyd to maneuver around. Floyd sleeps in the living on a hospital bed because he can't even get into his own room or use his bed because he has trouble getting out of bed. About 3 years ago, they had a house fire and lost everything and had to sleep in a trailer. It took about a year before they could get back into their house. Honestly, their house isn't even worth what they are paying for it. It literally should just be bulldozed or condemned. Their daughter has helped them pay the bills because it's so bad right now. They have been through so much, the past 3-5 years and they deserve a chance to have a nice home that's open and easy to get around. With holidays and when the family gets together, the house is way overcrowded. They give what they can but they are always talking about how they can't give their kids/grandchildren more or what they need. They are very hurt by it. They could be down to their last $40 and if somebody asked to borrow $40, they would give it. This would be the best thing to have happened to them in a long time. They deserve a place to call home and not have to worry about all the rodents and fleas/ticks, the coldness during the winter, etc. Please give them the opportunity! Thank you!!!!
Hi my name is shalbi. im 15 years old.. ive never had a home really that i could rely on. or even feel content. i live with my grandparents as of now. a houshold of 5. ive always been in and out of homes because my moms never been able to provide that for me and my little sister. i just really wish i could actually have a place i can call home. and not only for me. but my mom. it's always been her dream. she's been a single mom for the two of us for years. my dad past away when i was 7.. but before then.. he didnt want anything to do with me.. evebtually he came into my life and i was agains going home to home. the most ive ever lived in was an apartment. as of my grandparents home. we're lucky to stay in their home.im asking for help because we'll never be able to afford that and although my mothers going back to school.. it could take years till she could ever get her own.. and i'd already be grown and gone. i dont want to rely on other people any more. when a home will always be there. i dont even have my own bed.

Hello I'm writing this on behalf of friends of mine. They are a young couple madly in love with each other and it shows when you see them with each other. They bought a home together abut 5 years ago and it did wonders for them when they started. They are now living in a home that doesn't have a working furnace appliances are falling apart and the roof looks as if it will fall in any day if a heavy snow comes through there region. His wife was just diagnosed with Fibromyalgia and it's really brought her spirits down. He tries so hard and supports them both on what he makes while she suggested to find a job. To him this is his queen and he treats her as such. I don't know any other deserving people who would give thE shirt off of there backs for you or there last bit of food if you were starving and they could help.

Hello my name is tilisa (: .
I'm an 14 year old and I live with my mom and two older brothers. We've never really had a stable house hold. Its always been hard for my mom, raising three kids on her own wasn't her attentions. We live in a trailer that's located in the country that again isn't very stable. We moved here about two years ago and its most defently not the best house in the world . we moved here because at the time we had an affordable deal to work with. As we've been living here our rent has gone up twice . we pay an percent of money every month to pay off our house (witch we are not close to paying off ). The house is very damaged . I'm not sure how long its been up but you can tell its been awhile . this house has holes , cracks ,rodents . this house is falling apart . as it gets cold we have a variety of heaters . we constantly are patching up welts and holes and ext. We are also always bombing our house to get ride of rodants and bugs. (Country) Our house is falling apart and we most decently need help. We all try our best to keep smiles on our face . but after awhile pretending to like this nasty old house begins to be to much . we would all LOVE to have a new house , to be comfortable and just love life and not have to worry about this house collapsing when ever it wants . all I want for Christmas is my family to be happy . and again to be comfortable and stable. I now can only pray that they choose us. And think about my one and only Christmas wish.
Hello! My youth group is looking for a new retreat house. The house that we have right now is functional, but we would love to expand and make the space available for other groups and programs. For years, this "retreat" house has been connected to our church, at once quite literally. When the house was first built, our ministers were living in it.The house was attached to our church! After a while, those ministers retired and so the house, still attached, became Sunday school rooms for adults. After a while, the church decided to expand by building a bigger, better sanctuary right where the house was. So, the church literally picked up the house and moved it over to the back of our church's property. Today we use the house for our youth groups's Sunday school and regular youth group meetings. While it is useful for staying warm in the winter and having a place for us to be, it is not livable for other groups that we want to come, visit, and stay in the house. Our kitchen is almost completely unusable. The only thing that works well is the sink. Our fridge works, but every once in a while the freezer doesn't. The stove just flat out doesn't work, and all of our cabinets are outdated and moldy. There are two bedrooms, however one is much larger than the other. The large one functions well with a small bathroom. The bathroom in this room is very small, just big enough for a toilet and sink. Like the kitchen, this bathroom is outdated as well. The smaller of the two bedrooms is almost too small to function for anything. In fact, we have barely managed to squeeze anything larger than a couch in there, and with that in the room, there's almost no room for people to move around comfortably. Our main bathroom for the house is very outdated. The shower/bathtub is not functioning properly, and we have to fix the toilet quite often. Lastly, our living room. This is where we have the majority of our meetings. It is a good space, but very plain. Big windows occupy the front of the room, however our curtains do not close. There is a small dining space apart from the kitchen, and it only sits six people. This can be a problem, considering we have up to sometimes 20 people eating in the house at a time. All of the floors in the house are extremely outdated and need to be fixed, as well. Now, why does my youth group deserve this makeover? We may not have any terminal sicknesses in the group, but we sure do a lot of good in not only our community, but in some across the country and one even in Africa. This past summer, some of us went on a mission trip to help those affected by hurricane Katrina in Slidell, LA. We have also in past years gone on a mission trip to Texas. We are constantly raising money to go towards schools in the Democratic Republic of the Congo in Africa. When the devastating earthquake hit in Haiti, a group from our church went to to Conaspeh to help rebuild their churches. Every year, around the time of the Super Bowl, we have our own fundraiser called the "Souper" Bowl. The purpose of this is to raise money for the homeless by selling soup packets to members of the congregation. A couple times a year, our church hosts 3-4 homeless families that are in need of a place to stay. The youth group comes in and plays with all of the children and eats with the families. We also participate in our city's crop walk, which is a 5k walk around the campus of Butler University to raise money for the hungry children in foreign countries. As you can see, my youth group is a deserving group of young people that would love to expand into not only a bigger group but a bigger house. Housing other youth groups that visit and helping host events in this house would be a great opportunity for all of us. Meeting all of our expectations and needs would not be possible with the budget that our church allows. With your help we could this dream into a reality. Thank you for your consideration.

Ty,
I am writing on behalf of My Sister. My Brother and I moved out of state years ago but my Sister remained at home with her family living with my parents and took care of them. We have always been a close family and my brother and I go home quite a few times and year and financially do what we can to help. My Sister and her husband bought a house to move my parents into so there would be more room for them all but it was an older house and needed work. Shortly after they moved my brother in law had to go out on disability due to a back injury and the work on the house has never been able to get done. A year and half ago we lost my Dad a retired veteran to COPD which also meant that my Mom lost all his benefits as well so emotionally and finically things have just been going downhill. My sister is an amazing person , a wonderful daughter, wife, mother and friend who is working so hard to try and keep it all together. She works full time at Target while taking care of a Disabled husband, Our Mom and her teenage daughter. Having some work done on the house would mean the world to her and would help her feel like the mortgage payment that she is killing herself to pay is all worth it. She never asks for anything and usually goes without so that she can do for everyone else. She has not had a vacation in years and my Niece who is 16 has never really been on one. The last year has been rough on all of us as my Dad was such a huge part of who we all are and this would ease a lot of the worry and burden of what she is going through.
I am writing in for my sister who has been through hell and is one of the most deserving persons I can think of. She has lost 3 children and have 3 children left, one of them being a teenager lost a few years ago. She is 42 years old. Her husband left her a little over a year ago with her 3 living children and a grandchild. She has since got another grandchild. She has done her best to raise those kids on her own, without much help from him. She got a low paying job, but had some health problems and is currently unemployed. She had to move in with one of our other sisters because she did not have the money to pay the electric bill last winter and has been living with her ever since. We went in to try to do some repairs on her home recently so she and the 5 kids could move back in, but the house is in complete disarray. They own the house and land, but the floors are falling in and the pipes need to be replaced and she has never had gas or heat in that house since they've lived there. She would heat the house with electric heaters and her bills were always high. The roof is also bad and needs to be replaced. There's broken windows, and from what we could tell from tearing out one of the floors and part of a wall, the electrical wiring does not look up to code either. The house has 4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and a kitchen/dining combo & living room. We have asked friends and family for help, but are not having much luck, especially this time of year, when everyone is struggling themselves. She wanted to be back in her home for the holidays, but unfortunately, we haven't been able to gather up enough material. Her name is Teresa and what a great gift to give a family,to be able to be back in their home without worrying about things falling down around them and I can't think of anyone more deserving!
Tina
Posting for my best friends family. A family of god and a ton of love. If anyone deserves this, they do!
Hello, and welcome. My name is Adam Shapiro son of Heather and Simon Shapiro. What you are about to read is the tragic, and painful tale of
this family.
The money raised is to help the Shapiro family still have a home to live in. Its to repair the cracked floors and split beams. To fix the caving
sinks, and the bathrooms from collapsing. Its to pay for doctors, and operations, and dental work that medicaid cant,or wont cover. Its to make sure
that my father Simon, can leave this world in peace when its his time knowing his wife, and daughters wont be living on the streets,or split apart in
foster care. Its to help my sisters not suffer by getting the medical treatment they need to receive. Its to save their lives.
My fathers is extremely sick and,he is unable to work, and while he does earn social security,it is insubstantial to meet the needs of my family. Not
only is my father critically ill but so are the rest of my sisters. With so much illness and money funneling into medical expenses, many other things
have fallen to the way side. My parents home is in a state of critical damage. Some time ago my parents home suffered extensive water damage
due to cracked pipes during the winter one year. While I was able to repair it,the damage was done. Many points in the house are about to fallen
in on themselves. The floors are split, and weakened both bathroom floors are about to cave in on themselves, and the kitchen floor, and sink are
about to cave into the floor below. The money I am raising is to help pay for the repairs my family needs in the home,or when it all comes crashing
down be forced without a home. I have spent all my means to fix what I can,but my expertise only extends so far. Many of the repairs needed
require a professional to do,which costs money my parents do not have.
A few years ago my father became stricken with severe diabetes. Though things did not stop with diabetes, neuropathy, heart disease, and lastly
cancer. Six months ago Simon was diagnosed with bladder cancer, and under went surgery to remove the tumor which had all but completely
obstructed his bladder. While the operation was a success Simon ever six weeks undergoes BCG Treatments as they pump in a form of kemo
into his bladder, and drain it. Repeating this process for several hours. When finished Simon spends days recovering from the symptoms that
come with such an intensive treatment suffering from tuberculosis like symptoms for two weeks,in addition to the host of other pains, and
sufferings he already has.
My fathers mind, memory, and mentally faculties have been severely damaged due to his medicines, pain, and treatments. Often he can not
remember my name,or may even repeat things he has already spoken right after another. Many nights are filled with him howling in
pain, struggling to breathe,or filled with horrible panic attacks. Unfortunately my father has very little time left with us,and all he wants is to know
that when he dies his wife, and children will be taken care of.
In the picture you see a sweet brown haired girl, with a dark complexion. This is Kailee-Anna my loving sister of fourteen. Who is as sick,if not
worse off than my father. Kailee has three brain tumors located at the base and center of her brain. Each tumor is right over,or next to a vein or
artery making their removal not possible. As my younger sister had enough trauma to deal with knowing that she can not have her tumors
removed she is plagued with other illnesses. She is emaciated from some unknown sickness that no doctor we have taken her to can identify.
Her body is simply not processing nutrition as is should, and as such is losing weight as an accelerated rate to the point of crippling her body. She
barely sustains on certain fruits, and cereals that she is able to keep down, because eating anything else causes her to vomit. Lastly,we are
waiting for results to know if my sister has Chiari Syndrome a condition in which the brain begins to seep into the spinal cord. My sister is only
fourteen, and is suffering in ways no person should ever, let alone a fourteen year old. A girl who wants to,and deserves like any child to enjoy life
live it to its fullest.
One of my other sisters was omitted from the picture, due to her delicate emotional state. Because of the illness, sickness, and overall
bleak state of my families poverty it took a toll on my sister Noelle. Living in such extreme poverty can make anyone depressed, saddened,or
feeling low. My families situation struck Noelle like a wrecking ball, driving her to the point of suicide. In January my sister Chelsea,my third sister
found her lying in bed unable to breathe, choking on her own tongue. I rushed into the room upon hearing her screams. Dragging her from the
bed,I began CPR. For over ten minutes I continued to keep her alive, and following EMT instruction over the phone as my brother dialed 911. I
fought trying to keep her from dying until the EMT arrived, and took control of the situation. As of now Noelle is okay, the cause of her near
demise, was an overdose on certain prescription medications. While Noelle has physically recovered with no permanent damage we continue to
dance with her on an emotional level. Noelle also has four impacted molars in her mouth, and medicaid will not cover the removal of them, and
even needs to have a jaw surgery too because her teeth grew in so crooked. Once again medicaid will not cover these things.
Lastly we have Chelsey the sandy blonde my other sister who is thirteen.. Chelsey has a sever case of carpal tunnel syndrome, and needs a
surgery and medicaid will not cover this operation and in the mean time Chelsey keeps wrist braces on 24/7 trying to stave off the pain of her
wrists,and hands.
At the end of all things,my family has been broken, beaten and battered by the tides, and storms of life. They have weathered them well but there
comes a time when we need an arm to pull us out of the tide. I have given everything to help my parents, and continue to do so. I work multiple
jobs, and contribute to anything I can,but there is so much I can not do. I have to accept the fact that I alone can not rescue them from this. I want
my sister Kailee to be able to eat,and savor food without suffering gut wrenching debilitating pain from it. To see Noelle burst from the bands of
darkness that have entangled her,and soar in the light of the day. For Chelsey to be able to pick up a pencil and draw, write, and type without
crying from it.
When my dad dies, if Chelsey is 16 all Social Security stops, leaving my mom at 53 who has been a house mom since her marriage to somehow
find herself in school and find a career to still support her daughters. I myself continue to juggle work, and trying to find myself a career to better
help them. As each of my sisters draws closer to 18 there ability to be covered by medicaid becomes a diminishing window.
So,this is my plight, and the plight of my family I have truly poured my soul into this, expressed the truth with the utmost of my abilities, and turn to you the reader for your contribution to help Save the Shapiros and if you can not contribute, please spread the word.
Thank you so Much for your time, and your help.
Adam Shapiro
Please help! My Grandma has been through so much in life and her home needs work. She has had and raised 5 children of her own and fostered others. She has lost her son 5 years ago (my Dad) and he was their only son. Her Husband (My Grandpa) recently past a few weeks ago. The loss of her son and Husband are very hard on her. She does charity through her church and is always offering her home, love, and kindness to others in need. She also donates her time at the church with my Grandpa who just past. My cousin recently found that the floor by the tub is rotting under the mat yesterday. Also, her washing machine empties right outside the house by the foundation for the last 25+ years. I don't know what is all wrong with it but it is not good and she really deserves better for all that she does and has been through.

My name is Morgan , and I am the middle child of three ,and I have a family of five.i am 13 years old , and I share a room with my sister , and my moms office is in my brothers room , so my brother shares a small room with an office.my sister has a brain tumor , and just got finished with proton radiation , so they stayed in st.louis for eight weeks while me , my brother , and my dad stayed here in Tennessee while they were there, we got to see them a few times while they were there ,but we weren't that close.we have a messed up basement that has tons of junk in it , but we never find the time to clean it up and have a makeover , and we don't have enough money to fix the whole thing ,and make my mom an office , and get me my own room ,so we really just need a new house , but I don't think we will ever move , so all we need is a home makeover!!!
Ty,
Getting our house redone would touch not only mine but my whole families lives in more ways than you can imagine. Two years ago, my mom was diagnosed with breast cancer and she had to put up the fight of her life. She luckily survived but paying off all the medical bills along with making a living for my family has been very difficult for my parents. There are six of us altogether and each person has various expenses that need to be paid for. My oldest sister is also in her first year of college and she currently attends a community college because we can't afford a university. My parents do so much for my sisters and I to try to make sure we have a good life/childhood so it would mean the world to me to pay it all back with a new house and fresh start. It would alleviate so much stress for them especially because we live in a cramped house with 6 people and it's very tough. They are so stressed as it is with worrying about expenses and the house that taking the house out of the equation would be so great. On top of this we think my mom's cancer might have been brought on by stress so I'm concerned for both my parents health, I can't bare to experience one of them get diagnosed with an illness again. If you picked my family it would mean the absolute world to me. Thank you so much for your time and consideration.
To Whom It May Concern:
My Name is Eva F. Parker I am writing this letter to let you know about the problem that my mother is having with her 41 year old home, My mother (Eva V.) and father (Claude who passed away in 2006) built this house when I was 17 years old they worked hard to be able to build a house now we are homeless. We were forced out of our home on May 7th 2014 because of a terrible toxic flood in our basement, the town of Milford told us that we had to leave our home because it is dangerous to our health, we were told that everything that is in the basement has to be thrown out and replaced including the furnace, hot water heater, walls, steps doors, and flooring, all of the bath room fixtures have to be permanently removed. It is very costly, not only does the basement need work, on the main floor she needs new paint and inside doors and locks throughout the house, the kitchen needs new appliances, doors and windows and locks throughout the whole house, because someone broke in and stole our 73 in. 3D TV, my grandsons trampoline, and bike. It is hard enough without people stealing from us.
I have been fighting to raise the money and failed to do so. We can barley pay our mortgage because both of us are on a fixed income, my mother (Eva V.) is too old (86 years old) not to be in her own home that she/we fault so hard to keep. I wanted to someday get the basement finished and make a big kitchen so I could start my own catering business to bring money into the home so that my family could have everything that they need. Not only that I wanted to help other people in need as well, who may not be able to cook their own food, like the elderly and disabled, and a family room so the children could have a place to watch TV and a place to sit when other family members from out of town could sit and enjoy themselves. Now I can’t even help myself.
It is so hard on this family to be separated sleeping on the floor, and people’s living room furniture. I am taking care of my mother (Eva V.) the best way that I can, I bathe her, dress her, give her, her medicine, take her back and forth to the doctor and feed her, it is very hard when she does not want to eat, from worrying about going back home she is growing weaker as the days go by, I also take care of my grandson (Tae’Quan) because his mother (my daughter Cachet’) is very ill, and is on the kidney list, and legally blind she cannot see out of her left eye at all always feeling bad or in pain, my grandson is sick too, he has a brain tumor, and has seizures. My son (Raylond) has a mental disability, my son’s future wife (Brooke) and two kids (Jaydah & Raylond Jr.) Live with us as well, because they have where to really go, she and the children stay with her mother sleeping on the living room furniture as well.
Everything falls on my shoulders, I am at the end of my rope; I do not know what to do, I am doing my best to take care of my family, now on top of all of that our house is not livable.
I have prayed, about it and do trust in God and I believe that he will provide help for us. I pray that someone can help us in some kind of way.
Sincerely,
Eva F. Parker

Hi I have a house I want to sell in Las Vegas in a country club. Unfortunately because I am single mom and recently had a set back financially due to a neck injury. Doctors diagnosed me in July with a bulging disc and that I needed surgery. Unable to work long hours in the hair salon doing my trade, I have been seeking alternative healing as to avoid a 2 month leave completely from work for surgery recovery. I have picked up loose end jobs in California to support my son and put him through college with the help of scholarships he earned. He is very dedicated and helps me as much as he can. I have had my house as a rental property. Recently the tenants left the property leaving it in a bad state. The value of the home has gone down while other homes in the area have gone up because of my lack of funds to maintain upgrades and tenants who did not care for it properly. Last month I listed it to sell and People are excited to come to the location to buy it to only leave with a look of disgust that this home is out dated and have said things such as "this home looks old", "how many animals lived in this house" I wish I could afford to put in new cabinets and counter tops I know this alone will help me sell it for a value it should be worth. Also there is a large dead tree in the backyard and an old shed that seems to also have a negative affect as far as this house being attractive to future buyers or tenants. My income being a single mom and recent set back with neck injury I am only able to replace the carpet and even this will have to go on my charge card, but I can't even get a renter in it as they say the carpets are old, damaged and have animal scent from my last tenants. SOS. This house needs a makeover. I will be happy to supply you with pictures.

I currently live in Olive Branch, MS about 6 hrs. away from my 82 year old mother. I spent the entire weekend working on my mothers house trying to replace rotted wood facia and removing debris from her yard. My brother and I spend a lot of time replacing rotted wood on her deck and added a hand rail this past summer. She was out on her deck and fell through where one of the ends of the boards was rotted. The board flipped up and almost hit her in the head. She told my brother and I she was stuck there for over two hours and finally broke herself free right before nightfall. She receives a $1163 per month from social security. This is her only income and does not have a retirement account. Believe it or not, she receives too much money to receive and sort of subsidies. She has macular degeneration and has a little bit of a hard time getting around. She will not go out in public because of this. Her house was built in 1972 with a tongue and groove ceiling. Her roof consists of roll roofing and leaks in places. Her drains are made of the older metal piping that are built up with corrosion and sludge. This makes all her drains slow and causes her dish washer to back up at times. There is no insulation to speak of between the roll roofing and the tongue and groove ceiling (unless you want to count the black backer board in-between the ceiling and roll roofing). Her appliances work half the time with the microwave being a fire hazard. She told me over this past weekend that her microwave sometimes sparks while using it. I offered to bring up a counter top version she has in the basement, but she always says she will get by with this one. Her stove top stays hot sometimes (at least that is what she tells me) after she turns it off. I think all these issues are making her an unhappy angry person as she ages. I was wondering if this would qualify for a makeover on your show or do you have any suggestions to get some repairs done for less money. I would give the money back to the show from the repairs and upgrades when she passes away so that someone else could be helped. I could get the money from the sale of the home after probate.
