  8. I'm writing you all in hopes that you would consider a new friend of mine and her family. I met my friend a year ago because her two daughters are in my son's pre-k class. She is truly an angel. She and her husband became foster parents that lead to adopting 5 precious children. She is the most amazing mother to all five children. She and her husband do what they can to provide over and beyond for their children but with that their expenses don't allow for them to fix, finish, and update the projects needed at their home. i can't think of a more wonderful gift it would be to them as a family to actually have the house they deserve. Their is a huge lists of reasons they are amazing parents and people. I would love to share more with you. Please consider them! Thanks!

Now we have 8 people living in a 3 bedroom single wide trailer, me, my wife and kids have to sleep on the livingroom floor since the bedrooms are taken up. Is there any way you can help me, my wife and kids? Hope to hear from you soon…. Thank you and Godbless.

  10. Hello, My name is Kaitlyn. I live in Winamac, Indiana.I am a 19 year old high school student and engaged to an amazing Soldier. Im not writing for myself. Actually, I am writing to try to help my mother and little brother. They live in Star City, Indiana, only about 20 minutes from me. My mother was married to a great man who took on my mothers 5 children. They had a son togetyer after a miscarriage of their child. Kyle was born and we lived in a one bedroom home. Granted Justin and Jacob were staying with their fathera but Breana, Kyle, and myself along with my stepdad and mother, all lived in this tiny one bedroom home. Kyle had just turned 4 when suddenly his father passed away 9 days later. We were devastated. Everything was taken from us. My stepfathers family kicked us out of the house. His daughter from a previous marriage called child protective services on my mother who had took a wrong turn down the wrong path after my stepdads passing. Breana was 18 so she was safe. Jacob and Justin stayed with their fathers. Kyle and I, on the other hand, had nowhere to go. We were put into the states care where we went from a group home to a foster home. Our foster family decided they wanted to adopt Kyle, but not me. I was moved to 6 different foster homes. I was in the states care until I turned 18 at which time I left on my own terms. I went and found my mother who was doing so much better. She was working and had everything she needed. One day while she was at work i decided to visit her. We began talking about needing our own house rather than living with my aunt. Just as we finished discussing it, a man entered the restaurant and just so happend to mention having a home for rent. I couldnt resist, i had to check it out. He took me to the house and I just knew we were going to be set. Thats until we moved in. The home is a rent to own. Its a decent looking house on the outside. The inside is falling apart. When we moved in, we had no fridge, no stove, no bathroom sink or washer and dryer. Matter of fact, when the last people moved out, they took ALL of the gas wall mounted heaters with them. The house is 2 stories. Two bedrooms upstairs and one downstairs. Floor paanels are falling apart upstairs and the stairs are so narrow and steep you can hardly get up and down them. Downstairs, the floors are pretty tore up. My mother and brother are living in this home with small space heaters which are hiking up the nipsco bill so much. When we first moved into the home everything seemed okay, until my mother began feeling terrible pains in her abdomin. I took her to the emergency room and she was told she had to have emergency surgery. Scar tissue from previous surgeries had began wrapping around her intestines and cutting them in two. The doctor stated had she waited one more day, she would have died. After her surgery she was told she needed 6 weeks of recovery and went back to work 2 weeks later. She went to work on her first day back and was fired. She was never told why. So she had nothing… As time has went by, my mothers rent is normally late or half paid here and half paid there. Her landlord Paul has been great but a man can only be leiniant so far. Its getting colder and my mother has decided that my brother has to sleep in the living room to avoiding freezing in his bedroom because they have no heat. If the winter gets too bad, they will be moving into my fiance and my home. Dont get me wrong, i love my mother but she has been so proud of this home that i couldnt stand to see her lose it because other bills are too high. Recently my grandfather passed away, he was a veteran and had just applied for SSI and his first mission was to buy my mother some gas wall mounts so she had heat. And then he passed. My mom also was working as a bartender at ther time of my grandfathers death. We were out of town with family for his ceremony for a week. When we returned home, my mother called her boss only to find out that apparently they were closing the bar for good. So here is my mother, jobless again. She has to worry about making sure my brother has clothes and supplies for school while also making sure she has the rent money and nipsco bill paid. She also has 3 dogs. The backyard isnt suitable to just let the dogs run due to the town law being if animals are not in a fence they must be tied up. Their arent many places to tied the dogs up so my mother has to put the three dogs on the front porch which has a makeshift gate of plywood to keep them on the porch. The nicest room of the house would probably be the bathroom. Considering the tile in the laundry room is coming up and the water heater and water softener are totally exposed. My mother has a stove but the oven doesnt work at all. My mother deserves this home make over extremely. If everyone knew our life story they would understand home much she has turned her life around. This would mean the world to her and my family. Please help us in this time of need. God Bless and I hope to hear back. Thank you for taking your time to read this.

  11. I was wondering if your crew could help me and my family. I have three foster children and one child of my own. I've been fostering for almost 9 years now. Why I'm posting a comment is because my home is not big enough and its starting to run down. My husband and I started a new home about five years ago when we realize we didn't a bigger home and a better home. We have a home that's closed in 40 x 70, new windows, new siding, we need the inside completed but can't get it done due to financial issues. We both work but try to do so much at a time. Three of the foster children have health issues. I do have a little girl who is precious who is suffering from a liver disease. Also 2 boys who is almost 10 and the other who is 11. They are brothers and both suffer from asthma. We have had 2 episodes where one of them stopped breathing and had to be medivaced to a better health care facility. We do live in Nfld Canada. We started to build our new home next to our old home. Our plan is to destroy the old one once we completed the new home. We are desperate need because afraid our old home is not going to last this winter. Our heaves on the house is starting to go to piesces another word rotten/spoil. Is there any way you could help us financially. I know you only do this in the states but I always watch our show on tv. Love to watch it and many times my heart is touched and tears ran down my cheeks from your beautiful stories. I forgot to mention one of my foster kids suffer from allergies too dust and dust mites, cats, dogs, and I always have to clean his room constantly to keep the dust away because it affects his breathing. Please help the Clements Thank you!

  12. Hello, my name is Danielle I'm 16 years of age and I'm typing you this because I'm praying for your help. My grandmother is a wonderful woman, anytime anyone is in need shes there no matter what. My grandma lives in a beat down 5 bedroom house with two bathrooms, but only one bathroom works. There are 7 people living in this house during week days and on weekends on grandma babysits all the grandchildren. As the days past by it's getting harder for er to do things and still try so hard to help everyone else out when she's starting to have troubles herself. I hate to see such an amazing, giving woman struggle. As being someone she helped out by taking me in her home i thought i'd give back by As a Christmas surprise to her from me i was praying for your help. Thank you for taking time out of your day to read this. It's well appreciated.
    sincerely Danielle.

  13. Hi I'm Kaila Miller. I'm putting in a request for my Mother in law. About 3 years ago my bro in law (David Miller)had a diving accident and broke his neck. The doc said he could never walk again. But by the grace of God he can walk! And in those 3 years Davd's wife left him and their 2 lovely boys! And David had to move in with his mother. And my mother in law only has a 2 bedroom and 1 bath and it's really hard for my mother I'm law to cook and clean with 5 people living in the 2 bedroom home. Please come and help my mother in law out with 4 bedroom and 2 bath and a play area for my nephews! Thank you so much. May God bless you in all y'all do!

  14. My name is Monique. I'm 16 and I have three brothers, three sisters, my niece, and my two parents that live in one house together. There's just not a lot of room in the house. My younger sister has trisomy 18 and I stay up with her through the night to help out. My mom tries to help everyone and I can see how stressed she gets. I just wish that this one thing could happen to our family. With a bigger house I know that we would highly appreciate it. I'm really speechless for what else to say. I know I should hope for this, but it just seems like nothing good is going our way. I guess Ali can do is wait and see if I get a response from this. If not then thank you for reading it I guess. Thank you for your time.

  15. Hello my name is destiny caudill I am a 19 year old mother to my 4 month old son. My fiancee, son and I live in small 2 bedroom house along with my fiancees grandmother and grandfather. My fiancees uncle also lives here. This house is so old the roof is literally caving. We have spots on the ceiling patched with ducted tape because the roof leaks and rots the ceiling from inside the attic. I do all I can but I can't do much. I stay home and take care of the baby while my fiancee works. Everyone else in the house draws ssi, so we basically live paycheck to paycheck. Our grandparents are so special to us and everyone of our neighbors. They will give our last peice of bread to someone that's hungry. Whenever its time to mow the lawn, half our neighbors on our street gets mowed by our grandad. Some of them pay him but even if they didn't he'd do it anyway. He even rakes the leaves in the fall for most of them. If our grandmother had the last 2 dollars shed put it in gas to go to church. She believes highly that god will take care of everything. Our uncle would give the shirt off his back for anyone who needed it. If My fiancee had all the money in the world he'd take anybody where they needed to go no matter how far. If there's anyway that I can prove this, just to have a chance. This house will not last much longer! That is a fact!

  16. I wish this could sum up everything when it comes to describing what my little family goes through daily. My Daughter (the only one)and her Husband have been through hard times in this last year. Actually experienced homelessness. They had 7 children an a 16 year old dog with them. This January, the family pet has been gone a year. She ran off and we could never find her. They all work hard together but having a home which could fit them all is the problem. They sleep in tight quarters in a 4 bedroom rented house. Which of course, they don't own. She's not able to work, just stay home and take care of the kids. He works hard to make ends meet. If they were working towards what they own, it would be worth all of it. But, for now…I worry they will outgrow where they are now. Living hard in Nebraska….JoAnn

  17. My husband and I are requesting your help in Southern New Hampshire. We have 4 children, one of which has very special needs. Connor has Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy and Autism. His Muscular Dystrophy will cause our 6 year old to be in a wheelchair between 10-12 and fatality in his 20s. Right now he shares a bedroom upstairs with his 2 other brothers. We want to add a bedroom on our main floor making it wheelchair accessible but the cost is astronomical after having plans drawn out. He qualifies for an experience with the High Hopes Foundation but even with their help, we just don't have the money for the modification. The more we look for grants and help, the less probable it seems to be that we will be able to do this for our son. Any help would be appreciated.

  19. Hello. I have worked all my life and raised my son alone, which made it difficult to save for myself. I went back to school to get my bachelors degree after I was denied employment. With this said, my little cottage house is in need of repairs for safety, old electrical, windows and furnace. I have been put on total disability shortly after I graduated. This has been a disappointment, because now I can't use my degree for employment, and unable to work in a full time job. I'm not even sure I can handle a part time job. My fear is my little dog being trapped in the house and burns down, not to mention my own safety. I'm not one to take hand outs, but if you could help me out, I would be forever grateful. I'm a single, 56 year old female, Maria.

  20. Hello my name is Christina Lewis. I am 20 years old. My family and I have have been struggling for years. I have a 5 month old healthy daughter. She was premature, born 2 months early and her due date was on july 20th. In June of this year my house was caught on fire. My dad woke up barely in time to get my 2 nephews my little brother and himself out of my house. They had no shoes on and thankfully my oldest brother came and took then to his home. We all grew up in that house and lived there for 23 years. That was what I called "home". It wasnt in good condition but I was blessed to have it. The fire in my home made me really sad and brought back alot of memories. We had no gas and no electricty and sometimes we had no food. My father and brother went to fpod pantries every week for food for our family. Every year my parents wasnt able to pay for all of the bills so there were more than a dozen of times when we had no gas in our house. I hated living in those situations but I was happy at least I had a roof over my familys head. On christmas we couldnt afford presents and barely food. My faher was a hardworking man, who I look up to. We didnt have much but It was better than not having anything at all. Recently my older brother was murdered early morning on Aug.25,2014 leaving our family full of pain nd tears. He was on his way to work. He read the bible and the night before he past he did a rosary. He had just turned 23 years old a month prior to his death, and was starting to get his life together. His death was extremely hard for us and we had no money to bury him. My father, family and friends were trying there hardest to get money. My father went to church to get donations. My sister and I collected some money from friends on facebook, and some family helped aswell. After a month we all finally collected money. We were hurt that in a time we were suppose to be grieving we were doing all we could to raise money. Loosing my brother was the worsest thing my famiky has been through. Two days before my brothers funeral my Grandma who had cancer past away. She was a very strong woman and she didnt stop working until she was 70 years old. My family was and still now are going through so much pain. We've lost two people close to us within a month. It hurts soo much. My family has nothing, no money, no home and no happiness. My father goes to food pantries and receives donations of food and clothes. Im sharing my story because Im desperate and in need of help not only for me but for my family. I watched your show so many times and love the fact that yous help people in need. I always cried and prayed that one day that would be my family getting the help we need. I always wonder when will all the tears stop and my family and I will be happy. My daughter is the best thing that has happened to me and Im Truly Blessed to have her. I plan to be a nurse. I love helping people. I pray my daughter and my family wont have to live this way anymore. I want nothing but the best and happiness. I beg for help. And everyone who post there story I Pray yous get help also. Everyone deserves a Happy Life. Extreme makeover home edition I hope you read my story and see the pain Me and My Family have been through. Thank You.

  21. HI,

It's extremely important, if you can help my cousin and his family to rebuild his home that is in very poor and not healthy conditions for his wife and their two boys, one 5 years old and the other 7 years old. The 5 year old suffers from Autism and for the reason his wife is at home caring for both boys, make it harder for her to have a stable job to provide economically. Being my cousin the only one working in the family, he has to work 6-7 days a week (14-16hours shifts) at Panera Bread having very little time to spend with the kids. He bought his house like 3 years ago as a fixer rapper hoping that he will be able to rebuilt it, but he was only able to rebuild the first floor to some extend to make it livable for the kids. But basement reminds unfinished and moldy which makes it hard for the kids to be healthy in daily basis. Unfortunately, my cousin's Dad passed away this year who was his right hand in many things and also, his mom (my sister) was diagnosed with Breast Cancer, who is now in remission. For these reasons, I feel that this year has been very tough on him and his family. This is reason to write you and I would like for him a miracle to happen and what can be the best for him to happen that getting his little home finish that the kids and family can have a healthy and descent place to grow up.
Thank you so much and God Bless You for what you all do for the families in need in the US.

  22. hi my name is shonte I know that you guys have gotten a lot of heartfelt request for help. but in the last fours years I have been apart of a family with one particular person that have stolen my heart. this lady is a mother grandmother great grandmother mother of the neighborhood she has helped everybody in need no matter who it is and has opened her heart and home to many but hasn't gotten any of that love in return except for what I am dong at this moment I consider this lady as my very own grandmother she has excepted me not only because I am the mother of her great grandchild but because she has a big heart and it seems like nobody takes it into consideration except for her second to the oldest daughter and her children and of course me anyways the reason I am sending you this comment is because I wish to make my grandmothers last years of her life memorable and comfortable my grandmother lives in a house that was given to her years ago by her sister and at a point was a beautiful house but in years of time people came and went out of the house and destroyed it with no mercy on their soul now the house floods the plumbing is bad windows are gone the walls are horrible there's cobwebs everywhere….I would have to show you better than I can tell you because words can be prettier than the actual sight my grandmothers health is at stake if I didn't care this comment wouldn't mean so much im in desperate help for my grandmother because if this doesn't help her I don't know what will please with all the tears ive cried for this woman she wiped everyone of them

  24. On June 21, 2012 our town was devastated by a massive flood that made national news Every house was affected by 6 feet of water either in the basements or on the first floor of the homes. Some people were forced financially to sell their homes to the state to be demolished because they had no means of replacing the destroyed homes. Others demolished their damaged homes and replaced them with modular homes. We are not financially able to do either. The day before the flood hit, we had just moved into the shell of our house (that we built) to finish it ourselves. All of our building supplies, insulation, sheet rock, siding, appliances, electronics, and furniture were stored in our basement along with our daughter's furniture, computer, and personal belongings that we stored for her. Only to see it all destroyed by the flood. We are now surviving in an uninsulated shell of a house, full of mold and unfinished due to loss of materials, and making mortgage payments. We financially have no choice but to live like this,or be homeless. Our only child a daughter is married to an active marine and they are stationed in Japan.
We haven't seen them since 2010. We have a grand daughter (whom we've never met) who will be three in January 2015. We can't afford to finish our house, much less travel to Okinawa, Japan to meet our only grand child. We spent our life savings of 35 years to build the shell of our house. We secured a loan in the amount of one hundred forty thousand dollars to purchase the balance of the building supplies, insulation, sheet rock, wall coverings, flooring, water heater, furnace, water softener, appliances and furniture only to have a flood destroy it all. To add insult to injury, in 2013, three days before Thanksgiving, our garage burned. We lost everything in it. Because we are insured under a construction loan, we did not receive any insurance payments for the flood or the fire. I'm writing to ask for help to finish our house inside and out, and to rebuild our garage. Our son-in-law has one more year left in Japan then they will return back to the U.S. They are hoping to stay with us(for financial reasons)until he gets his next set of orders.
We desperately need your help to finish our house and rebuild our garage so we can make it possible for them to live here with us.
Due to health issues, I work a part time job that pays for my diabetic, hypertension, and asthma medications and medical visits.
My husband works full time and makes enough to cover the mortgage and other monthly bills when he's not laid off and collecting unemployment. After the bills are paid, we have no disposable income left to replace the lost materials to finish our home. I've written to our Senate, but never heard back. I've contacted every organization available, only to be told they are unable to help us. You are my last prayer for help.
    PLEASE HELP US!

  25. HELLO WE ARE THE GILLIAM FAMILY!!!!!. All 8 of us!!! Our family admires the work that you do with Home Make Overs all over the world!! We live in a home that was built in the 1950s. My husband and I bought this home for my kids so we would have enough room inside the home, play out side by the lake as we are an extreme blended family. We love our home, but dread when it pours down rains. Water rushes in the back of the house, in the bathroom on the 2nd story, middle living room and we soak it up with towels then wash them. Dry wall is pealing off on the walls and the ceiling. (yes, we have gone through 7 washers)… The water leaks through our roof. We have lost furniture and computers due to the rain. We have very minimum insurance because it was built in the 1950s. I have two kids in college, 10 yr old girl, 8 yr old girl (have legal custody.. she is our niece that has been through a lot of life traumas), a 4 yr old boy and we take care of my mother. The house needs about 50k worth of repairs to be up to date. Would love to just tear house down and start over, but that is too expensive. We are a very loving and unique (yes different) family!! We love sports, swimming, and nature hiking behind our house. Please consider our home and we will cook dinner!!!! Hope you love enchiladas!!

  26. Hi my name is Shamesha but friends call me Shae. I am 19 years old and have been brought up by my grandmother who passed away in July. The home we live in caught fire years ago and the contractors that were supposed to finish the house have left it undone. My grandmother was still fighting with them to finish it when she got sick and passed. they have left us holes in the ceiling, and leaks from pipes that cause the basement to flood. The radiators don't get very warm so here in Il the house gets very cold. Now that she's gone I have no way to get it finished. I am still in high school and have just acquired my first job. I would like to have my grandmother's wish of her home being finished complete. Any help would be greatly appreciated.I would consider it a great blessing! Thank you for your consideration.

  27. I would like to nominate a very special family Teresa, Donnie, and Ty Storm. Ty is an amazing 8 year old boy who had a brain injury at birth causing him to have Cerebral palsy. Ty is the happies boy in the world and has so much try. His mother stays home with full time as his appointments, school, and therapy prevent her from being able to work. Hi is father works alot of hours to try an provide for them. They live in a small trailer house that is not "Ty friendly." Teresa is still trying to raise her show horses and give Ty the chance to enjoy the life of an equestrian. They have had a special saddle made that helps keep him upright and stable on the horse. He is so happy when he rides. This family has always been willing to help people in need even when they don't have much of their own. There are many people that would love to see this family get some help.

  28. I am sending this request for a family in SC that has been through so much I would love to see their life made easier. They deserve a break. Jessica, a 28 year old young woman has a spinal cord injury from a boating accident leaving her paralyzed from the neck, down. She needs 24/7 care, which is primarily given by her father, Jeff. He has very limited help and had to quit his job to take care of her. 6 weeks ago, Jessica was able to receive an upgraded wheelchair. She fell forward on the controller and fell off of their porch, breaking both legs.
3 days ago, Jessica's mother, Jackie, who is legally blind (Jeff takes care of her, too),fell off the same porch. She is hospitalized with a compound fracture to her leg. Jeff is now having to find a full time rehabilitation facility for his wife, Jackie because he can't take care of both her and Jessica. I believe they need a home that is more conducive to their needs. Jackie is so scared and Jeff has no choice. It is heartbreaking.

  29. Hi, my name is Kendyll Kowalski. I am 16 years old and I am writing, because I would really appreciate your help. I live with my mother, step dad, brother, and two dogs. We live in a house with 3 bedrooms, 2.5 baths. My step father is a nonfunctioning alcoholic who has been in and out of the hospital. In 2009, my step dad was in a really bad car accident and broke his neck and back. My mother has been working her entire life and we can never seem to get caught up on bills. Well, just a month ago, our only vehicle was stolen and we had no way of transportation for a while. We are not on food stamps anymore. Our house is falling apart, because we cannot afford to pay to have things fixed, such as 2 of our bathrooms do not have a working toilet and only one working shower, our front door does not have a handle on it. We really need your help..We cannot afford renovations ourselves. We are 5 house payments behind. My mom has never asked for anything in her life, except to be happy.. Please help us..

  30. I am writing to ask for some help for the church where I teach preschool. This church has had the preschool for fours years and we are very small. Unlike most of the daycares in our town we do take special needs children with no questions asked. this is hard for most parents as they have to wait until the child is school age to get them out in the world. everyone where I work is Christian and God fearing and we love all our children, even the ones that are a challenge. I am asking for some help with our playground. It is very small and in need of some new equipment. We do fund raisers but playgrounds seem to cost more than we ever raise. I know there are so many people in need of help in these trying times but you never know unless you ask, so here goes! Please help us with our playground so we can give ours children a much needed outside play time that is safe and fun. The kids love outside and the social experience it gives all the children is a blessing to watch. God is so good to us and we can only hope that maybe, just maybe, we can be considered for your program. The church is Prattville Wesleyan and the preschool is Prattville Wesleyan Preschool. We are located in Prattville Alabama and hope to grow in the coming years. Our enrollment at this time is 28 children, (three are special needs)but all our children are special gifts from God. The building we are in is old, but we do fine! What we need is a safe and fun playground for our kids.
    Thank you for your consideration!

  31. to whom this may concern, My name is E Vautour and i live in Cap-Pele, New Brunswick CANADA. I received some bad news earlier this week, (november 2014). A family of four, two small boys and their parents are going to be homeless soon if they don't get help soon. They all live in a mini home that is not suitable for a healthy life. It is full of mold and it is not fixable. They are really nice people and they both work at minimum wadge because there is not a lot o work in our community. They cannot afford day care for the kid.
Financially they cannot afford a new house. The woman is trying her best to have a good spirit for the kids. At Halloween she dresses up with the children and tries to have fun, at Christmas she tries her best so they have a good holiday. She always have a smile on her face even tho with realty times are hard. She Works from 6am to 2pm and then walks home, to make sure she is at the bus stop for her kids. Especially with the holidays near, it breaks this small communities heart to see in 2014 people still have hard times. I am writing this letter to try my best to help them through this tough time. With extreme makeover Home additions help I would like to make them smile and have a chance to a good life with a happy home to raise their children. And i know if someone can help, Extreme Makeover Home addition can!
    Thank you. Sincerely E Vautour

  32. Hello, my name is Chasity. I have a husband and 3 young children ages 1,7, and soon to be a 9 year old. We live in an extremely small 3 bed room trailer, which is falling a part. The ceiling leaks the floor needs to be fixed and we have no room to move around. We need a bigger home. My kids are always taking about wanting a bigger room designed the way they want but we can't afford it. My baby was born 2 months early with a 30 percent of survival and he is now one. My middle child has a lot of health issues. I just want to be able to give my children what they deserve. Our whole family has been threw so much the past couple of years. I just want our luck to look up. Our power bill was 2000.00 dollars last winter at one time. I am really not looking forward to see what its going to be this winter. We struggle pay check by pay check every week. I am to the point to where I really don't want to do any more.

    thank you,
    Chasity Ewing

  33. I am hoping you can help our family our with a home makeover. You see I (once married for 17 yrs with spouce deceased) and mother of 3 children from that marriage ages 7 14 and 16 have been remarried now for two years in April. We live in a home owned by my new husband and it is in need of repairs and maintence to meet a larger family. My new husband since our marriage has had to focus on taking care of us and he himself is a war veteran with PTSD. while dealing with his own medical issues last year in our marriage I went totally blind for six months. I give glory to God for my eyesight returning back for that was to never happen but during it all he took on the lead role taking care of me and our kids . He has also since our marriage been faced with the death of his mother of which he took care of in in home. I myself and my kids went through a six month CCU illness with my late husband and the two older kids being teenagers at this time are drastically effected by the loss of their birth dad and that being said is playing a hardship role on Davids PTSD. David loves them as his own and would do anything for them but sometimes it gets hard and I believe that a home makeover with room for the kids to have their space and david to have his might be just what this family needs. I pray you will consider our family for your show. Thank you and many blessings for what you do.

  37. Hello Extreme Makeover Team
I am an avid fan of your show. It warms the cockles of my heart. This is something that would work so well in South Africa and I would love to know how to go about getting your team to either bring it here, or advise on how to start it here.
The main reason for my email is to find out whether you could do this for someone who is soooo deserving of a better home (I looked and couldn't find any reference to whether you had a specific)
She is an elderly lady looking after her 2 children and 2 grandchildren. Her son and her grandson as mentally disabled. Her daughter, a divorcee, has a substance abuse. Her home is falling to pieces. I have, along with a dear friend, tried to do as much as I can to make her environment "beautiful" but it is very difficult when so much of her home is in need to TLC.
This lady has been a mother figure to me and it breaks my heart to see the conditions she has to endure daily. Not just in her home, but within hostility of her family.
She is also ill and has overcome cancer.
I do not know how much longer she can endure her circumstances.
Please help! It would be amazing to bring your compassion and energy to South Africa and you would change a life of a beautiful person.
I would appreciate a response … No matter what it is. I will at least know that someone has read this plea.
    Blessings
    Janita

  38. Hello, my name is Danielle Starling.I am 20 years old and I would love to help my grandmother out. She has had it rough since we lost my grandfather in 2012. She lives in a very old home that is falling apart slowly and she does not have the money to fix it. She helps everyone else out and never ask for it. I know she needs it bad. My grandfather tried to fix it the best he could I would help him when he would work on the house. He did that til he got really sick and could not do it anymore. He loved to fish I would always go with him. I lived with my grandmother after he passed away and helped her out with bills and everything else that she needed. I moved out and in with my dad a year ago so she could have her own space and she loves it. I still go and visit with her every week. The house is in horrible shape. The bath tub in the bathroom is about to fall through the floor. Her church is trying to help but she will not let them cause she thinks it will put them all in a bind she hates asking for help. She is 58 years old and has COPD.

  40. I honestly thought about writing into this show because my family has many of the problems that all of yours do. After reading your posts all I have it in my heart to do is pray that you ALL get selected. We all have our stories, our losses, our heartbreaks, loss of family and death traps around every corner yet we do the best we can.
Haley, a sweet young child, I know how you feel, I grew up just like you. I hope you get help. I'm 40 with 6 kids and working with hundreds of youth each year and life goes up and down. Remember to always keep your head up even when life is down.
God Bless You All! I hope your wishes come true!

  41. Hi my name is Phil, and I would like to have my moms home made over. Last year she was force to leave work due to the store going out of business and before that they had to file for bankruptcy. Money was always tight growing up but me and brothers had a great childhood. My grandmother also live there with my parents upstairs and my grandpa died about a year and half ago. I no longer live there but my brothers do and probly will forever due to that they cannot work due to disability and they are twins in there early twenties. The house need work ,driveways falling apart and when we do get something fixed , it either a hack job or just not quality. My mom really deserve to be catered to, she helps me and everybody else from lending money she doesn't have or food, clthes ,etc. She never takes care of herself and if she does its not what she really wanted. She takes care of everyone else. I have a good job but work isn't consistent otherwise I would save up and pay but its not realistic. My father does alright but like I said my parent always take care of my moms family back in the Philippines. The house need help and I would love to see my mom happy. Thank you

  42. Ty, my daughter and her husband have just found out they are going to lose their house in Athens Tennessee due to black mold. They have gone thru 4 miscarriages in the last few years. The last was at 4 months along. This has taken a tol on them to say the least. My daughter Jodi recently planted a memorial garden for her baby. They have never asked for help from anyone. They have been thru a lot and now with the house situation they are at the end of their rope. They are devastated at the prospect of losing everything they have. They have 2 beautiful girls 4 and 5. I am on disability due to an accident at work keeps me in constant pain and has drained me financially. I am in the process of losing my home that is in Tennessee also. I currently live in florida and my wife and I take care of my 81 year old mother who is in early stages of dementia. I hope you are able to help my daughter or give me advice on what to do for her. Thank you for taking the time to listen to me. Brian Davis

  43. Hello my name is Emily and we have been in need ever since my parents and I moved to u.s. I am the oldest of my my six siblings. I have a brother who is turning 14 in nov. A sister who is 9, another sister who is 8, sister who is 5, another sister who is 3, and another sister coming up in December. We are going to be 10 siblings living in our hose hold, my brother and sisters, both of my parents, and my uncle. We rent a small trailer. 3 rooms for, 1 for both of my parents and my 3 year old sister. Since my mom is pregnant my dad sleeps on the floor. The secound room is where my 9 and 8 yr old sisters share a room with me. The other room is for my uncle. My brother and my 5 yr old sister sleeps in the living room in the couches. We have been renting the trailer for about 5 or 6 years. Almost $700 a month. We share two bathrooms that we have. And when we want to go out somewhere we wait our turn to use the bathrooms. My dad works hard for us every day for almost 14 hrs in construction. He comes home very very exhausted and tired and tells us later that his back hurts or his legs. And my mom we'll she hasent been working ever since she was pregnant with my brother. And when my dad gets his check the money goes for paying the rent, or the car ($400 a month), insurance, gas, food, and work supplies. Or there is not even enough to pay the rent and we are a few weeks late due to pay the rent. Our laundry hasent worked since a year ago or 2 and we have to go do the laundry every 2 or 3 weeks and a $50 goes also. My dad build a little porch, using used woods from his work, so that the cold won't come in the house during the winter. But we can still fill the freezing cold from the outside. Since it's a small trailer it gets hot easily in the rooms during the winters because we turn on the heat and when we turn it off we freeze. During the summer, of course it gets hot, we don't have the cold air system. So we have to deal with level one fan wich is barley nothing. We have a leak in the middle where a window goes when it rains. One of the bathrooms leaks water sometimes where my uncles room is. And when it rains, we turn on the sinks or flush the toilets and dirty water comes for some reason. We don't have closets for everybody so they use these type of used boxes. Also since we don't have space to place our shoes inside we place them outside the porch. We don't have enough room inside that we have to put extra furniture (table, chairs, sofas, and my dad's work supplies) outside. The floors are now getting old that we have some ditches ( I think that's how you call it). Our back stairs are old and wobbly that when we go out back there sometimes my sisters and I fall. Since we don't have keys to lock the trailer we leave it open risking ourselves from robbers who can come and just take away anything. It's really tough for me and my family because even though we brought a new car we still don't fit and we are not going to fit even more because my sister is coming up. We have been living in trailers for about 12 years. Since we can't go out to parks or rivers or go hiking we build two swings out of rope and wood. My dad loves to grill out side when he can. But we don't use the $80-700 fancy ones. We use 3 bricks, twigs and a little metal thing that holds the pots or food. My mom loves flowers and planting vegetables. Since we can't afford her garden dream we made it out of bricks, were the old neighbors used to have, and big sticks. My sisters, in my opinion, are so cute that they make me cry. The way how the play just wakes me to find help for better lives for them. If they want to play princess they use cloths and rags. If they want to be teachers they use pencils and card boards. There is are so much More also more need that I even thought about graduating early, and getting a job to help my family deserve a life that they should have. It breaks my heart and tears come every word I type. It just hurts seeing my dad kill his back to sustain us. It was to a point where we had to ask for help and get food and clothes. We had been using the same clothes for years. My mom and dad too. I just pray to God everyday to help us escape of this nightmare misery and to help us. This is not the end of story there is still more. But with this simple and hopefully tochful words you can help us. May God bless y'all alot for blessing other families.

  47. Hi, My name is Charity and I am writing because I think my parents deserve to be on Extreme Makeover: Home Edition. My mom has COPD and Congestive Heart Failure and is on Hospice Care. The doctors are not looking for her to be around very much longer and I want to know that my dad will have a home that is safe and paid for. Right now the home is not in very good condition. They live in a small trailer with a leaky roof and mold issues. Half of the house is closed off with plastic and thick blankets because water just pours in when it rains. Parents have a load of doctor bills and have went through several bankruptcies….I just want to know that they will be in a safe home and I want my mom to know that my dad will be ok.

  49. Hi, I am a freelance artist who just moved from the hustle and bustle of LA to my hometown in southern Illinois. I was shocked to see that a major monument to my childhood has fallen into despair. Our art deco single screen theater is falling apart and no one seems to know how to save it. It opened in 1941 and many of us would do anything to save it! It sold for auction in 2004 but was found to have extensive mold, so it has been left to sit. If you could use our theater as an episode or even a short series, our entire town would be forever grateful!

  55. I'm hoping that you might be able to help. My fiancée russell lehr was in a tragic diving accident while we were out on a hot day in July of 2014 with our children. The accident left him a Tetraplegic which means he can not feel or move anything from chest down. It has been incredibly rough. He had no health insurance and we are in the process of fighting to get him disability. He was in a trauma unit from July 2 till the first week in August then was transferred to Magee rehab in philadelphia. He was recently released to come home but was only here with us a few short days and is back in the hospital battling pneumonia. The hardest thing is about half a year before the accident he bought a home in as needed condition. Basically a fixer upper. It was abandoned and had leaks in pipes. Leaks in the roof, termite damage and the list goes on. He was starting on all this when the accident happened. Now on top of the house needing repairs we also need modifications done to it to accommodate him. Ramps, bathroom remodeled, lifts and it's hard because we don't have the money to do it. I have a 10 year old daughter and Russ has a 14 year old daughter and a 5 year old son. I'm trying to work just to get some of our utilities turned on. Almost everything was shut off because they couldn't be paid for. I hate to ask for anyone's help but this family truly needs it. I'm trying so hard to make things as normal as possible for this family but really need all the help I can get. We would forever be in your debt with anything that you could help with. Even if it were to just get our story out there then that would mean the world to me. I don't know how much time we will even have left with Russ but all I know is that I want to give him the happiest life possible. If you are interested in helping any way I can be reached. My name is Kristine Moore. Thank you for taking the time to hear my story and why this family could benefit from your shows help.

  59. As you noticed, there are two family names. It started with Cheryl Tensfeld, and Clyde Ruska, my dad. As long as he can remember, it has been a long road for him and his fiancee. Always moving from place to place to be with and help family members. There were times when they lived with no electricity or running water, but they still put others before themselves. About 2010, while living in Arizona, they found themselves again, Cheryl, her daughter Sara, and my dad, homeless while helping a cousin. May 18th, 2010 Cheryl was diagnosed with a massive blood clot in her left leg. Sara was told to find relatives to live with, because the doctors did not think Cheryl was going to make it through the night. They moved to Washington, and Cheryl was diagnosed with yet another blood clot in October. The home they moved into was left vacant for five years, yet there was something still missing. I, Jonathan Ruska, haven't seen my dad, Clyde, in over ten years. After I graduated high school in Colorado, we were finally reunited, and our home was complete. The following problems with our home are: 1) the roof leaks in three different rooms. 2) the furnace has not worked for two years, thus making us use multiple space heaters. Which in turn overload the electrical panel. Meaning if we need to do laundry, we must turn off the heaters. 3) Everytime we need to wash dishes or take a shower, we must go to the basement and reset the water heater. 4)The roof and floor to the back porch are rotting due to leakage. 5) It's a daily struggle to save what we know can be a beautiful home. Three of the four are disabled, thus making it a financial struggle to keep our home running. By watching your show, we have seen the miracles you guys perform. We are writing you because two nights ago after my dad said his prayers, it came to him to reach out for help, and ask for one more miracle. Please consider us Cheryl Tensfeld, Sara Tensfeld, Clyde Ruska, and Jonathan Ruska. God bless you all!

  60. I'm applying to help one of my moms friends, they love in a small trailer and they have had multiple problems while living in the trailer from bathroom problems to kitchen problems. 61. MURDERED! I am writing on behalf of my Uncle Vern and Aunt Deb. Their son Trent Mallory was murdered by his girlfriend on March 6, 2014. She was just found guilty of 1st degree murder on October 18, 2014. Trent has a 5 year old names Carson. My Uncle and Aunt were making plans for retirement, that has all changed now that they have a 5 year old boy to raise. Not only are they raising their own grandson but they are also raising HER (the murderer's) 6 year old son because she is going to prison. My Uncle and Aunt are the greatest people in the world. They live in an OLD 2 story farm house that costs a fortune to heat and is very run down. Normally, the upstairs is closed off but with the boys living there now the open stairs must be heated as well. They are in the process of putting in a new drain field as we speak because the system can't keep up with the extra laundry, baths, dishes, etc..
They need help!!! Plain and simple. Not only are they grieving the loss of their only son but they are trying to cope with the fact of raising two young boys at retirement age. Please help them if you can.

Sincerely, Susie a very caring niece. My heart is breaking for them. Thank You

  62. I have a friend/neighbor who deserves some help. Her whole life has been the sort that would cause anyone to feel like "why me", but never has. Abusive parents (emancipated at 16). She moved to New Orleans and married young. First son was born premature and has cerebral palsy, second one has immune order. After 1st son was born they found she had nasopharyngeal carcinoma and used both radiation and chemo at full force. She survived but with no help at all from her cheating husband. She moved across the street from me in N.O. so she could get her boys into a good school and be close by. I was always impressed by her upbeat personality and devotion to her kids (3). They started to have health problems and found stachybotrys. They moved out, lost the house relocated. She divorced horrible husband and received NO child support. She didn't push it because she wanted her kids to have the possibility of a relationship with him some day. He was so vindictive, she didn't want him to take it out on them. She also felt she had so much radiation/chemo damage, she wouldn't live to reach old age (40 yrs now). We moved to Covington at different times and she bought a house down the street from me. She took a job at the local high school so she could be there for her boys. Things were going well for her and she was happy. Then she was kicked in the throat by a special needs student.Drs misdiagnosed her for a long time. She now has a trach and a feeding tube. She and her boyfriend were renovating this large home and he left when she needed him. Now she I trying to finish the home. Living with sawdust is bad for her trach and she is overwhelmed. She also can no longer work and has to live on a very tight budget. She is trying to keep her boys in college. She is a very beautiful woman inside and out. With a son with a wheelchair (or support) and other with health problems, and her issues, she could use a stroke of good fortune.

  65. My Mom has been suffering to keep our house after My Dad, died in July,2007. My Moms health has been getting worse, she found out this past December,2013 that she has Osteoporosis besides her disc are deteriorating in her lower back, neck, with having other problems with her health. My Mom always kept our house so clean but she just can't do it anymore. Our house has so many problems walls and floors are cracking, besides needing walls painted, and carpet torn up. Bathroom has so many leaks from the plumbing, bathtub, my Mom can't even get in and out of it, anyway with her legs with the neuropathy that she has of not having the feeling in her legs all the time. Bedrooms are in need of carpet ripped out, walls need to be painted, ceiling needs to be fixed, because of the water coming in from the roof in all 3 bedrooms. Basement has flooded about 4 times in the past couple of years, carpet is dirty, I think there might be mold under the carpet, but, I am afraid to look, walls are with black like mold on them. There are probably more things that are wrong with our house but, I don't know for sure. Besides we might loose our home……. I Pray To God, Each And Every Day That We Don't Loose Our House and That Someone Will Help Us……..Please, Please Help Us…….Aaron Davis from KY

  66. Hi, my name is Brenda Ramirez I live with my mom who is a single mother of seven children. Lesli who is 18, me who is 16, elias who is 9, Berenice who is 8, Ismael who is 6, and twin sisters who are 3. We are living in a shelter for about three years and can't get a home because of certain things. One my mom doesn't know how to speak inglesh so it's really hard for her to communicate with people who only speak inglesh and second she doesn't know how to read or write. Sometimes we don't have anything to eat and she would go down to her friends asking for food just to feed us. I can't stand seeing my mom struggling and crying in the night thinking about what she is going to give is to eat the next day if we don't have money. We practically live out off food stamps i im trying to get a part time job after school to at least bring in some money into our "home" to eat. I don't consider a shelter my home because I don't find peace in this place everytime I go to school I don't want to go home because all of our problems just stands there and waits for us. We started living in a shelter because of a situation that happen to me and my sister with our step father. From the moment that we started living in a shelter we don't find out way out. Nobody want to help us in any way to be able to move out of the shelter. I can't do this anymore I can't even invite friends over because people who live in the shelter could only enter and they will laugh at me knowing I'm living in a shelter. This place brings problems to our family my mom and sister are constantly fighting about trying to get a place that is not another shelter im afraid that because of this my sister could leave the house and not come back. We have been in so many shelters around New York we have verbs in the Bronx to Brooklyn then back to the bronx. I can't see my family suffer no more we have been going through so many struggles that I will love for you to help us not only me but to my mom that's so inspiring because she is racing seven kids and is still standing strong. Please abc help us get a home not only a home but a new beginning . Thank you
    Sincerely brenda
