Christian Bale is set to star in the upcoming film “Hostiles” and casting directors are holding an open call audition for Native American actors. Set in 1892, Hostile “tells the story of a legendary Army captain, who agrees to escort a dying Cheyenne war chief and his family back to tribal lands. Making the harrowing and perilous journey from an isolated Army outpost in New Mexico to the grasslands of Montana, the former rivals encounter a young widow whose family was murdered on the plains. Together, they must join forces to overcome the punishing landscape and hostile Comanche tribes that they encounter along the way” According to Variety
Bale won an Academy Award in 2011 for Best Performance by an Actor in a Motion Picutre- Comedy or Musical for his role in “The Fighter”. He was nominated in the same Best Actor category in 2014 for American Hustle and this year for “The Big Short”.
Hostiles will be filming in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Producers are currently looking for Native American men, women and children of all ages along with Native American horse riders to appear in the upcoming movie. Elizabeth Gabel Casting is holding an open casting call next week. Auditions are being held on June 24th from 3:00 pm to 7:00pm at the Southwestern Indian Polytechnic Institute, 9169 Coors Blvd. NW Albuquerque, NM 87120 in the Science and Technology Auditorium. Anyone who fits the roles and would like to be considered may just attend the auditions.
