  1. RUNNING OUT OF TIME! My sister Jeanette, has just gone through her 2nd open heart, valve replacement surgery (22 years after her first) A nurse of over 25 years has always cared for others is now having a slow and painful recovery. Her surgeon advised she was a 'high risk' patient…. family members drove from near and far to be with her the day before her surgery only 2 short weeks ago. Since surviving the first 24 hrs, Jeanette has been suffering with her recovery process. Her long term partner has been diagnosed with a brain tumour and now only has approx. 1-3 months to live. Jeanette had been caring for Kev, working full time and helping with her grandchildren, leading up to this surgery. Jeanette would never ask for such a request and of course, does not know that I am writing to you. They both have been so so strong the past year, their house is not in the best condition! Home renovations were not done properly, the bath in particular is a major hurdle to get in and out. It is not a practical set up. With both of them having a horrible time, the house, yard and other material type things have been the least of their worries. Please please consider looking at this application for a complete house makeover… to, for the short time they have left together, make their home a safe practical and comfortable one. Thank you for your time.

  2. In January 2018 my dream of becoming a home owner came true. I just bought my first home, which was a very exciting yet stressful experience. The house did need some work, but I was confident I can tackle it. After I moved in the stress grew as I realize how extensive the damage is. For the first couple weeks every day I found something new that needed to be fixed or replaced or redone. The home was previously owned by a company that constantly rented it out, so it was a revolving door of renter's that cared little about the maintenance and upkeep. I am over my head and need help. Home has significant dry rot damage to the outside, I'm afraid it will fall apart before I can save enough money to repair it. I am single so it will take years. Please help

  3. I am a mother of 5 children biologically and 5 step children. Sometimes all the kids are under one roof sometimes just my 5. I'm also an autism mom. In need of more space for all the people in my home. Also need the holes fixed in the walls an the floor is starting to cave in. We try to start fixing on our house but financially we aren't able. We are grateful for what we do have but I would love to surprise my kids father with an EXTREME MAKEOVER so he doesn't have to stress about providing. us with a decent home! He does so much for the community we stay in and is well known in our small town. It would be such a blessing to give our kids a better living situation!! You guys are such a blessing and I love your show and especially the heart you have for less fortunate.

  4. I am a disabled veteran who lost my home to foreclosure in 2016. Fortunately for me, I had family in Iowa that had a house I could move into. Not all veterans are as fortunate. While driving down the road shortly after moving I passed an old nursing home that had closed and was for sale. My first thought was; "that would be perfect for homeless veterans". I mentioned my thoughts to a friend and she gave me the contact information for the county Veteran Service Officer (VSO). She said they had been talking about putting together a Veterans Resource Center for several years and he might be interested in my ideas. When I called the VSO, I started telling him about the vacant nursing home but he cut me off and told me the nursing home had sold the day before. What he said next floored me. He said the building had been bought by a man who wanted to turn it into a Veterans Resource Center. He recommended I contact the new owner. Long story short, I started volunteering for the new owners non-profit organization in less than a month and 2 months later I started volunteering full time. Over the past year, we have met with Legislators, Senators, other veteran organizations in an attempt to get funding for this building's modification. We have applied for several grants but have had minimal success because we are such a young organization (gained 501c3 status in Aug 2015) and do not meet a lot of the requirements for many of the state and federal grants that are out there. We do have another house that was donated to us, and through generous funding from the Trump Foundation were able to remodel it. We currently have 3 veterans in the home. One of the veterans will be "graduating" from our program in April. We are so proud of his success and would love to be able to provide these same services on a larger scale. I would love for you to join us on our journey and be a part of something much bigger than any of us. I do not believe God gave the same vision/mission to two people who knew nothing of each other for the same building without a reason. We would be grateful and humbled if we could be a part of your next extreme home makeover. Thank you so much for your consideration.

  5. I work for a great grocery chain in Texas. All of us get along and know each other. Recently (News Years Eve night) one of our employees lost her home due to a fire. Everything was lost. Our store has been helping as much as we can but we just don't have the funds to rebuild and she was without insurance. They all curently living in a motel but our funds to help have been exhausted and they will have to find somewhere else next week. Through all of this she and her son have still been coming to work and have tried to keep hoping. We are currently trying to get electrical to a spot near the destroyed home so they can live in a 10 x 12 temporary building. They are going to try to rebuild on their own, a little at a time as funds permit. This structure won't have water and will be working off of a single 110 power line (if we can manage to get enough donations and we are able to trench the ground to lay the line.
These are really good, kind people that just don't know what to do and are not the kind to ask for help. She was employee of the month in our store last year and her son is a very upstanding young man trying to do his best to help his mom.
They have land but that is all and it looks pretty bleak that they will ever really overcome this tragedy. All they have now is each other; even the family pet dog was killed in the fire. If there were anyone in this world that really need your help it would be them. They don't need much but a true shelter with running water and power would be a mansion to them right now.

  9. Hello abc!
My family and I live in the Santa Cruz Mountains (Felton), California. We own a 100 year old cabin home that was added onto by the SAME family until we bought it in 2014. We started out thinking it was manageable, but with every floor, wall etc that we peeled back, there were additional issues at hand. My husband works full time for the Monterey Bay Aquarium and I recently gave up my company to homeschool our autistic 9 year old daughter. With the commute & full time care our ability to renovate this old has has come to a screeching halt. 🙂 We live in the middle of "summer camp" up at Mount Hermon and I'm hoping someone is interested in our story. We love where we live and love your show. I am so happy to see you are going to be back on the air! Kindly, Stephanie

  10. I am a single mother of two children and have one on the way. I am living with my parents to help them out as much as possible. My dad had a surgery that went wrong in December of 2016 and he is still trying to recover from this. He also died on us in 2009, he had caught a deadly virus. Since then he has not been able to do anything to our house to make it more livable for us. My brother and I have done some work but we are not able to afford to fix the house like it needs. These last few years our house has started to fall apart and almost to the point to were we have to replace everything, or it's going to fall in in some parts of the house. There are 6 people ( 2 children and 4 adults) living in a three bedroom house and plus 2 animals. We are not ones to ask for help because when we do we don't get the help we need. I am writing today hoping and praying that someone will help us with our situation. Thank you for reading this and seeing what my family and I have been through and that we need help.

  11. Hello I am trying to help my cousin her name is morgan. Morgan has a little boy that is 2 his name is Lochlan. Lochlan was born with infantile spasms which means he has uncontrollable seizures. He has spent many of months in the hospital. I have put together a benefit for them the last 2 year. Lochlan has up to six dr pats a wk. Morgan is unable to work a full-time job due to all the appointments and also she can only make a small amount of income or her medical insurance will be cancelled. Morgan is the best mother a child could ask for the father is not in the picture at all so she has her hands full. Morgan and lochlan live with Morgan's mother and sister. They are the best. Morgan's mom works 2 jobs to keep a roof over their heads she is also a single parent. This family has pulled so close together and have so much love for everyone. However they live in a rental home that is not at all equipped for a handicap child they probably will never have the money for this. We all live in a community that is awesome. The donations that I have received for lochlans benefits have been absolutely great. However we are a very small community and we will never raise enough money for a handicap equipped house for this amazing family if you can help in anyway it would mean the world to this family.

  12. Hello my name is Cary. I live with my family in a house that was built in 1900. We moved in in 2003 and was renting until I purchased the home from the landlord in 2008. I knew it wasn't in the best condition but it was the only thing I could afford at the time. I have repaired some of the things but others I haven't had the money to do living paycheck to paycheck. It is in need of some more repairs. I would be so grateful to have the Extreme Makeover team help me to restore this house. Thank you for your consideration.

  15. Recently an employee of our construction company was severely injured in a head on collision while on his way to work when another driver was in the wrong lane. He sustained severe injuries to his back and legs, both legs being severely crushed, and numerous facial injuries. He has spent the last 4 months in the hospital battling severe infection in his legs resulting in having one of them amputated. He had back surgery as well due to a broken back. He is facing more amputation of his leg once infection is under control. The house he currently rents and lives in is not built to allow a wheelchair to go down the hall way or turn into a room. The hallway is too narrow, as well as, all of the door ways. He is confined to his living room 24 hours a day. Joel was always a very dependable employee. He was always happy and smiling when you would see him. We would like to see Joel have a home where he could move freely from one room to another because this is a life changing event that he will live with the rest of his life. He and his wife are not financially able to build a wheelchair accessible home although he well deserves and needs one.

    Thank you

  16. I am a mother of 3 boys a one year old , and 8 year old and a 10 year old. Our 8 year old son has multiple medical issues he has a trache and is on life support but he is mobile and able to talk. I also take care of my mother who has dementia. In our small town not many places are handicap accessible and to make things accessible it is out of our financial reach. We need a bigger house that has room for him to do his Pysical therapy and to store all his medical equipment ways for him to get in out of the bath tub independently and his bed. To where he is as independent as he can be bc I will not be here forever. Medical equipment is expensive. Insurance does not cover it all. I need a house That has enough room for me and my husband our kids his equipment and therapy and my mom and things handicap accessible for him and her. Most places here don’t have wheelchair ramps and even at the moment we don’t have a wheelchair mg son can use that can hold all of his equipment bc they got us a push one and we can’t use so we cram it all into a double stroller with my other son. We would be more than grateful for help we cannot afford to do the things we need to do for our son and my mother.

  17. Hi. I want to nominate myself for an extreme home make over. I lost my job from a stroke. I'm homeless. I'm currently in college studying music/ entertainment studies.

  18. We live in a small town with a lot of section 8 housing. People don't have extra to keep their homes looking nice. This breaks my heart, because 50 years our town was a lovely well taken care of community we were proud of. Today it's a eye sore! Please help restore our pride in this town.

  19. I would like to nominate my brother and his wife for a home makeover. The reasons are many. Most recently they were victimized by frozen pipes in their trailer home and then further victimized by inept plumbers and carpenters. They ended up living in a motel room on the second floor with 2 pets for some 6 or 7 weeks. Their life is just now getting back to normal. My brother has early-onset Parkinsons, has trouble climbing stairs and loses his balance easily. He is exhausted by 2 in the afternoon. He recently fell and broke his knee cap. But the story doesn't end there: He has sought employment and is often told that there is equal-opportunity employment available and yet he either doesn't get hired or he is let go fairly quickly. He has tried. His wife is the hardest working gal I know. She does everything right and gets VERY little respect as a manager of various convenience stores. Most recently a Dollar store where she did everything including unloading trucks where a year ago she threw out her back in a very serious way, leaving her hospitalized with a serious back injury. She spent over a month in the hospital where between rehabilitation sessions she was fighting officials for her workman's comp. which they wanted to deny her. She is an amazingly upright gal who has a very abusive past as well as her ex abused her and she managed to escape his violent anger with just the shirt on her back many years ago… You cannot make this stuff up. She is now walking meekly with a cane and has been fixing up their recently flooded trailer home for the return of my brother who is being released from the hospital as I write this. She, with her bad back, will be helping him with his Parkinsons and his broken knee because he needs nursing care like being turned over in bed, etc. My brother studied horticulture at Cornell but fate was not kind to him and he never went beyond a BA and ended up in a vicious cycle of sales jobs in failing businesses, which led to alcohol abuse and his entering AA many years ago and he has managed to stay clean for many years now. The 2 of them also take care of my 94 year-old mom who has Alzheimers. She is in a home but also requires a lot of care from them. This is not the way we imagined they would wind down their years of employment as my brother turns 60 this March. They have a long future ahead of them of living on the margins of low-paid employment and barely affordable health care. I hope this story reaches your producers. Every summer I help them around the house and imagine better insulation, newer carpet, more room, a home more laid out for someone with Alzheimers but other than cleaning up I do not have the means to help much. I have dreamed about them being chosen for your show. Thank you for your kind consideration. They live in a very depressed area of Upstate New York so employment ops are minimal. For some of her jobs she's had to drive 45 minutes to an hour over back roads to get to a 60-hr/week job where her dignity was challenged daily as she worked in a Dollar store outside a prison and had to deal with a certain level of disrespect every day… Anyway, thank you for your time. It, at the very least, sat me down to finally write down the short version of their tale. Thanks.

  20. I too am asking for someone else to have a home makeover. Feb 3rd, 2018 an 12 year old girl came knocking at my door. She had a wagon filled with 13 empty 2 gallon water containers. She said they did not have water. So we filled the jugs up with water and she pulled the 26 gallons of water home in her wagon in the snow. She refused any help pulling it home. The next day she came back with her 14 year old brother(Christian) and 8 year old sister(Mylia). They asked if they could shower at my house. Come to find out they have not had heat for 3 months, their water flowing 3 weeks earlier and only half of the house had electricity. A wonderful plumber came and reset the breaker for free and now they have water. I am working on getting their heat back on. Eventually I went over to see what was going on and the first thing that came to my mind was, "Oh my, these children deserve a better environment than this…and if wishes came true I know Extreme Home Makeover would transform their house into a place that they would be happy to call home." Their grandmother takes care of them, their father lives with them, but Skylar says he has been a different person since their mother left them. Through the works of God I have had to have the strength to plunge ahead in helping where other neighbors kept telling me to call social services and child protective services. These 3 children are a tight knit trio and when asked if they were happy at home they said "Yes". I dream for a healthy warm environment for these children, one that makes it easy for their grandmother to take care of them. For what they are going through they are so well mannered and caring. Skylar wants to me a chef or vet, Christian aspires to be a police officer, I hope to coach them along the way and have no intentions of turning my back on them once the church gets their heat back on, but I have no way of doing home remodeling. I am also looking into the county funding a remodel so perhaps they can fund your team.

  22. Good Afternoon,
I will more than greatful and thankful whether just reads my story of my grandparents who are just the proudest people who have migrated to this country and have set forth a path for their children grandchildren and great grandchildren. My grand father has what is known a Retinitis pigmentosa – to which he is completely blind and my grandmother who has been his sole caregiver for more than over 40yrs and still counting. They live in NY and our family tries so hard in helping to maintain the house . but when I say that they are set in their ways it is so. This house is the Matriarch of the family as my grandparents.. The Gist of it is that their house needs so much repairs for all the underlying conditions with their health. Just to make if better accessible for my grandfather and my grandmother and more secure.. I am of course not looking for much changes to be done. just to help to give the home and refreshing makeover and some helpful adjustments like her have a better laundry room to have a dryer and a better 2nd shower that my grandfather installed himself years before his disease captured his eyesight. I just pray that someone will be able to help us to help them. No rewards. Just Sacrifices that they have made and something I would love to give back to them.

  30. We are a family of NINE! We have seven children ranging in ages from 18 to 7 months old. As I hear our bathroom toilet gurgle I decide to sit down and write you and tell you why we would be the PERFECT family for your show. My husband is the beloved neighborhood PE teacher of 12 years years. We were married twenty years ago this year shortly after he began his teaching.

  31. The House of Refuge (THOR), open as of May 2010, is a nonprofit Christian transitional living facility for women. It is designed to foster positive growth and development in a structured environment that will offer healing, hope, and restoration.
THOR is a passage way for women to leave negative lifestyle behaviors and re-establish them in their lives and into society. THOR provides residential arrangements, inclusive of counseling, educational, and life-skills training programs.
While taking in new women we had to find a different location and the house that we are currently in is a fixer upper and we need you help.

  32. I am writing to you about a good friend of mine. She lives in Schaffertown,Pennsylvania and lives in a house that is literally falling down around her. She has many health problems and is on oxygen all the time. She also has a very hard time walking. She also takes care of her brother in law who has retardation. In the winter time she freezes a lot because all she heats her house with is pellet stove. Her roofs leaks and actually has come thru her upstairs down to her kitchen. I fear she has mold in her home.

  33. As a child of a single parent growing up living in a home that was an embarrassment I couldn’t invite people over especially when it was raining. The roof leaks were horrible and we had to use an umbrella to go to the bathroom . Having a home to be proud of has been my dream as long as I can remember and as a child I would walk down the streets near my junior high school and admire the architecture of old grand homes as I walked home from school . I am now 53 and I have worked hard at making my home something to be proud of. When we couldn’t afford sheet rock I used sheet rock mud over the old panels. I have so much more to do but what drives me is a desire to have space for mentoring teens. I couldn’t go to college. I want to be a mom to kids who need stability. I have thee girls ages 21,18 and 11. College is a struggle for middle class families like ourselves. and I know kids who desperately need a hand up to be able to afford college .My husband and I have been married for 32 years and my dream of adding additional space to our home and also adding onto to our little two story treehouse to provide free housing for students who need a hand up would make my dream come true in so many ways. We live near Arkansas State University and would love to be considered for this extreme home makeover. There is great opportunities in my back yard redoing an old pool or changing it into a basement? Your ideas of what it could be would be be such a blessing.

  34. I'm a single mother of 5 we currently live in a 3 bedroom 2 bath it has a lot that needs to fixed paint, new floors, bathrooms redone, kids bedrooms done etc. I've had to recently file for bankruptcy due to the time i was out having my last baby i fell a little behind. If i could find a program i would love for us to have a bigger house built because i know as the kids get older they are going to want some space. When you don't have the funds what do you do be happy with what you have and trust in god that one day i might be able to build our own house for my kids anything to make them happy and smile.

  35. A few years ago, before I married my husband, I was scammed both by a mortgage company and by the contractors they referred me to. I became permanently disabled (severe fibromyalgia, scoliosis, degenerative disc, bulging discs in neck and lower back, bursitis and arthritis) and have to look at the 'mess' these people left behind. Now my brother, who has liver disease and cancer of the liver has had to move in with us. Pleeeeease, we need a bathtub and so many updates due to what the other contractors left behind and what I and my brother need to be comfortable in the home and ability to go in back yard and outside. My husband, sweet man, works and does not complain, but he deserves a home he can relax in when he comes home. I'm hoping we will be considered for your awesome show! Thank you!

  36. I want to get my gramdmothers house remodeled she is the rock of our family she is always there for everyone she will give her last ….her house could really use a extreme makeover

  37. I would like my Mom's house made over. She &I are both young widows with no help on fixing stuff. The house is beautiful from the outside but old and worn on the inside. My mom keeps telling me that she wants to keep the house but doesn't like how run down it looks. After my sister died my Mom stopped trying to redecorate the house.
She gives so much to help my six year old that I want to do this for her but I can't afford it. Please consider her. It would mean so much to her to have a house she is proud of.

  38. I have always loved your tv show. I use to watch it as a child on regular tv but it is no longer aired on it. You all do a wonderful job helping people in need of help. And you have changed so many lives by doing so.
I never thought I'd have to ask if help but iam Ian now doing so.
My father Randy Is a retired veteran he served this country at the age of 17 and was a sargent at the age of 17 for the Korean war. He was also born with spineobiffia and he didn't know he had it till he was in a car accident on his way to work when he was in his 50's he was hit by a dump truck that hit him from behind at a red light. He has a metal plate and 4 screws in his neck from the accadent as well. He also had to take a early retirement because the factory he worked in called Electrolux had moved to Mexico. For a little while he was recovering benefit pay fir surging our country but when govner Granhome came in to play she took his veterans pay away saying he made to much from his disability pay and his early retirement and now because of that he brings in way below poverty pay in.
My father is an amazing kind man he helps out any and every one that he can by taking people in to his home who need help and he never asks them for any help with bills or any thing to do with the house he just asks them to make sure that they can take care of them selfs.
My 3 children and i have been living with him this whole time all but 3 years because there are a lot of things he can not do because of his health and he needs my help. This past summer in August of 2017 i almost lost my father he was sick for months and months he couldn't get out of bed he couldn't eat or drink any thing or he was puking finally i got tired of of him not wantiwanting to go to the doctor so I called for help and it turns out his doctor had him on meds that was slowly killing him and it caused his magnesium to be 0.06 which is almost non existing that it broke my heart seeing him go threw that and almost losing him.
But now to get to the point my dad's home is a small 3 bedroom trailer and all the Windows leak to the point to where it is non fixable, my dad's bathroom the floor is caving in where the toilet was and the bathtub is so old it is cracking. We have put plywood down threw out the whole trailer because of holes in the floor caused from the Windows leaking the walls threw out it have tape along the floor to try and keep it warm. In the kitchen we have some electrical problems to where we can't use the outlet behind the stove. The laundry room has no lighting in it because of electrical problems and there are many other problems as well. My father is 67 years old and he can't afford to get any thing fixed and neither can I bring a single mother of 3. Please any kid of help would be a blessing.

  42. Good day. My name is James Shamp and my family and I have a huge dilemma. We need a suitable home for us to live in. I served 13 years in the military before I was medically retireed for PTSD and other minor injuries. We attempted several times now to purchase a home but because of my low income and increasing costs of living no one is bale to help us. So I went back to school learning a trade that I would one enjoy and two make money. Unfortunately I was involved in a motorcycle accident that rendered me a paraplegic. So not only can I not do the trade I used my college money for but now housing is an even larger issue. My wife (Crystal) and three daughters Cariah(09), Zoie (08), and Eden(01) currently live in separate house holds because of the lack of wheelchair accessible houses where we are. Not even Renters are willing to help make reasonable accommodations. We have made due with vehicles and healthcare but having to do such has dwindled all of our savings that was for a home purchase. I have always enjoyed watching this show and it is one of two that have never failed made me cry happy tears.

  43. I am working on something different as to help homeless veterans have a home. Here in Kentucky we want to build multiple small homes to house veterans until they can get back on their feet. The only problem with this is we don't have the funds to make this organization become something real. This operation is gonna be called vets reborn as it works to help multiple veterans that have gone through hardships and are working to make something happen for themselves have a new beginning(hints the name vets reborn). All were asking is for a little help in making this operation a reality as it would help many veterans in having a fresh start.

  47. My 39 year old wife has permanent brain damage and dementia caused by cardiac arrest, while at home, 6 days after we came home from the hospital with our new born son. While sitting on the couch with my wife, our new born 6 day old son, and 4 year old daughter next to us, my wife collapsed with no pulse. Before she fell to the floor, i caught her in my arms. I was quick to realize what was happening and began CPR and Mouth to Mouth breathing for over 10 minutes until the ambulance arrived. It took the paramedics another 10 minutes or so, shocking her heart several times until they finally got a heart rhythm, yet she was still not breathing on her own. I was able to keep my wife alive for those 10 horrifying minutes. A day later in ICU, my wife began having seizures (due to the anoxic brain injuries caused from lack of oxygen to her brain.) My wife suffered approx 3000 back to back, endless and relentless seizures for THREE days. These seizures caused more brain damage. I have cared for my wife daily and raised my two kids pretty much on my own for the last 6 years with minimal to no help. Two years ago I was able to buy us a home in Northern California. Its a modest small home that needed minor repairs, until my wife flooded half of the house by an overflowing bathtub. Now my home has half of the carpet torn out. I started to remodel our kitchen, but cant find the time or money to complete the job, since i can no longer work being the full time care provider to my wife. My wife had recently graduated from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, CA with an animal science degree, yet her education has been lost due to the brain injuries…..as my wife thinks she is a Doctor now. Its been a very hard 6 years for me. I feel like I have no lifeline and very little support. I do feel that I have been lucky to be able to keep us happy in this home, and have a positive outlook on our future. But, daily I look around and see that what I am faced with is an impossibility to complete this home before my kids grow up. I dont have the energy or the money to hire anyone to do the work, let alone get it done by myself as the needs of my young children and wife are constant during the day, as every parent would know. To engage myself in any project to benefit my family is so difficult. I have tried so hard for my family and I will never give up….but its coming at the expense of my life, not being able to pursue my career, losing out on a retirement fund, my spirit and sense of humor has all suffered immensely. Most people wouldnt know how bad this hurts inside to struggle with this ongoing family tragedy. My wife and I were on a career oriented path. We had so much ahead of us. It all fell apart instantly when the cardiac arrest hit. I remember giving my wife CPR and seeing her lips turn blue and feeling her skin get cold to the touch…..I remember my life flashing through my mind as I count 1-2-3-4 with the chest compression's i was giving my wife to keep her alive. My wife and I have been together for 18 years. She was a starbucks employee for over 8 years while attending college. You would have thought all of her friends would be there to help her, yet every single friend my wife ever had has turned their back on her, as one friend said it was too hard to see my wife with brain damage, so he decided it was easier for him to act as if my wife had died. Our story is real and tragic. I have championed our existence thru love and patience. I just cant believe that no one has offered any significant help, let alone ever ask me how I am holding up through all of this, and sometimes I find myself helping others without ever letting them know of my need for help or my situation at home. My family could use some help. My children are so amazing, you wouldnt realize the issues at home existed just by knowing them, as I have done my very best to give them a normal outlook and experience in life. Good luck to all of those who could use the help from this Tv Show. Stay strong and consistent. We will all get there sooner or later. Just breathe.

  50. Hi i live in a home that used to be a convent built in 1934. There were some bad tenants that destroyed the place and put holes in every wall made of the old horsehair and generally messed it up pretty badly. My mother was so heartbroken as she owned it at that time and i tried to clean it up but I have a fractured back and arm injuries plus PTSD and find i am unable to do it all. The convent has 12 rooms all up and it now belongs to me. Not 1 room is a finished room. My bed is in what should be the lounge ,the toilet outside, ceilings falling down in 2 rooms ,walls half started where help had started a year ago then stopped , no oven or kitchen so i cook on a camp gas oven, no proper laundry and my location is a problem apparently. This old convent is so beautiful tho and i love it. I just need some help please. I live here alone and i want to be able to care for my mum here when that time comes and it really would be nice to live in a home that doesn't make me feel like I'm glamping inside and is functional.

  51. I am a single mother of five kids living in a three bedroom trailer with lots of issues. I worked but have developed nerve issues and have had a few surgeries on my hands and arms. My oldest has bilateral colobomas in his eyes. My next youngest has a bad heart and also had eye surgery. My youngest was born hearing impaired. I would love nothing more than a room added onto my trailer to allow my oldest to have his own bedroom.

  52. help our community site. Faith based – positive interaction supplied for the lost kids. High drop out rate, sucide rate, teen pregnancy, one of the highest poverty counties in Kansas. Our little center needs a renovation- it would impact the entire community if we were chosen

  53. I'm writing you about my best friend (Melissa Bruckman) and her 3 kids, (Justin) 15, (Alexia) 12 and (Lilly) 2. Her husband was murdered on May 24th, 2017 by a career criminal who stole an Oklahoma natural gas truck, led 3 different police agency's on a high speed chase all through Tulsa and busted through the gates at the Tulsa international air port, ran down the tarmac almost hitting a plane full passengers before driving through the fence continuing the high speed chase through red lights and eventually getting on highway 75 off ramp going the wrong direction (going south in the northbound lane) the chase ended with him hitting my best friends husband head on taking his life instantly. He was an amazing husband and father to his wife, daughter and 2 step children. He was doing what he did every morning, just driving to work to provide for his family. He was a very talented singer, he was on the worship team at their church. (We have an amazing video of him singing I Am Redeemed) he sang that song (his testimony song) just that Easter at church. Their dream was to purchase a home and had been saving for over a year when the accident happened. She has done everything she can to honor him including buying a home. Unfortunately she could only afford a home that is way to small for them (1043 sq feet) there are no cabinets in the kitchen at all and now she has found out their is a large mold issue under the home in the crawl space so they can't even move in. Even in her darkest hour she held her faith close and continued to help others in their tiny community (Berryhill) by providing food and clothing to children in need. Her community and church were amazing in rallying around her. She hasn't really been able to find the strength to return to work ( The Tulsa World BH Media Group) but they has been very understand and caring. I would love to to see her have a home for her and her kids that is suitable for them. I'm attaching a link to the news story on her husband's death as well as her email so you can contact her. Thank you so much for taking the time to read her story.

  54. My best friends husband was murdered on May 24th, 2017. He was a young husband and father murdered by a career criminal who stole an Oklahoma natural gas vehicle, led 3 different police agency's on a hide speed chase all through Tulsa and busted through the gates at the Tulsa international air port. When he went through the fence leaving the airport he continued to lead police on a high speed chase through red lights even running on the wrong side of the road. 60. It pains me to even consider having to search for help – but I am at a loss without someone like Ty and the gang to help me. I reside in Canada, but my sister is in Biloxi Mississippi. She has been a devoted military wife, moving from place to place to be with her husband who has served in the US military throughout their entire marriage. He has served his country in many places including Iraq and Afghanistan. During his service he was given a purple heart for his bravery in the line of duty and he suffers from PTSD. They finally bought their first house and had plans to finally put down their roots and have a nest of their own as Brian has just retired. They bought this house which appears lovely on the exterior, and despite going through the inspection system prior to final purchase, SOMEONE neglected to detect, or admit, this home had a severe black mold issue throughout – and within 1 day of occupancy, both my sister and Brian became deathly ill and had to evacuate the home. They spent Christmas in a borrowed camper and well to say the least, they are now homeless, scared, and stuck in this situation they definitely did not deserve, as they now own a home that has been deemed deadly to reside in. It seems like a cruel joke to me, as the previous owner or seller, was a retired Air Force Col. who knowingly sold this home to another soldier while being well aware that it was to be deemed inhabitable. I have no funds to hep them, and I am reaching out where I can. I have been a dedicated fan of this program ever since it aired and thought of your wonderful team right away – if there is any chance I can help make this right for my sister and her beloved husband, who has done nothing short of putting his life on the line by serving his country his entire life, I just have to try. I beg of you to please consider this request in your search for upcoming shows. I thank you in advance for taking a minute to reflect on this cry for help – as it would mean the world to me to have my baby sister safe and sound with her one and only for the first time in her marriage to this wonderful man. With love faith and hope, I say – thank you advance for your consideration – YOu cannot blame a gal for trying – Sincerely – Carol

  67. Hello,

My name is Kim. I am writing in hopes & prayers that my family will be chosen to be the next family to receive the next Extreme Home Makeover. We are a family of 5. My Mother, Myself, My Brother and My 2 Boys. My dad was diagnosed with Lung Cancer due to Asbestosis in the early part of 2000 it was a rare form of cancer and he lost his battle not much longer after his diagnosis on July 27, 2000. Leaving my mom to raise there 4 kids on her own. It was hard but we made through being that my mom is a firm believer in GOD and by His Grace and Mercy we made it through. I must say she raised us well. On July 21, 2017 the worst happened to us we lost our house in a house fire due to an electrical problem with the stove. My mom and dad got our house built in May of 1999. We lost everything. It was my Mom, Myself, my Brother and my 2 boys that were living in our home. I moved back with my mom about 2 years ago because she had to have 2 hip replacements, she has Crohn's Disease and Seizures and I also have Crohn's Disease it was easier for the both of us to be able take care of each other. My Mom OMG she's the best Mom neighbor friend in the entire city of Pearl, MS. she is 1 of 18 children by the same mother and father. She is the go to sister friend aunt neighbor etc.. When I tell you that my mother takes care of everyone she does so even before taking care of herself. She helps all the elders in the community she decorates their house for Christmas she cuts their grass hedges and she even trims their grass around the edges with scissors yes scissors. lol she gives her last to anyone. Her house is the place where everyone has lived at some point in their life when they were down bad and had no where to go. She is the lady that everyone calls on in their time of need. When someone or someone in their is sick she's right there doing whatever she can to help make them better. When she takes care of someone who gets sick she's at their house every morning getting them dressed making their breakfast lunch and dinner waiting on them hand and foot; taking care of them day in and out putting them to bed and doesn't get paid a dime because she feels like that is what GOD would want her to do. People always stopping me when I'm out in the stores or wherever I am & tell me I have the sweetest and best mom that GOD could have created and that I'm just like her. We had a tornado that came through Pearl, MS about 3 years ago. It was a hard time for everyone with power outages no money to feed their families. So I borrowed my friend's truck for 3 days I went to the store and got 50 cases of water cases of snacks buckets of chicken & tons of pizza to feed all the kids and the elderly people until Red Cross could get to us. When Red Cross came the 4th night it had just got dark I took them around to everyone's house and help them give each family a meal water and emergency kits. The local church honored me one Sunday after power was restored to everyone. I didn't do it for recognition I did because I was able and because it's the Golden Rule. Which my mom taught me to live by and that would cause a mass of blessing throughout my life as long as I obeyed GOD & treated everyone with the Golden Rule. My mom is a praying woman when the house caught on fire she was inside asleep. And once she finally woke up bc she didn't smell anything at first because it started in the wall; and went into the ceiling she got to the door and opened it by that time the fire had gained power from the air that was let in by her opening the door at that knocked her out the door to her knees. She busted out the windows in the back of the house to get my brother out luckily me and my boys had not made it home yet. I'm so grateful that she got out safe because she's all we got. Since the fire were staying in hotels and now were staying with a friend because we couldn't afford to continue to pay for a hotel nor can we afford to rebuild with a fixed income. My mom was sure that she had insurance and that was being included and being paid for with her mortag payments. I know that the mortage company had FPI (forced placed insurance) but I don't think she had insurance and the mortage company has given us the hardest time and have yet come out to inspect nor have they even acknowledged that they had insurance but it was being taken out of her mortage and it was also being paid for by her escrow. So I hired an attorney and the house was paid off. Now we are free to rebuild. She hasn't looked into her mortage payments the company or anything that was something that my dad handled and lets just say shes not computer literate nor does she know a lot about anything that was going on with her house. I started looking into it once I moved back in because the mortage company was sending letters stating that she was behind and they were going to forclose on her house. But the 2 things that my mom pays faithfully every month since my dad passed in 2000 is her mortage and life insurance. When my dad got down sick they filled for bankruptcy and my mom paid that off and received a satisfaction of deed. I don't know of anyone else that deserves to be the receipent of the next Extreme Home Makeovern other than her. Being homless has been the hardest thing that we have had to deal with. But u know what it hasn't stopped her from being their for others when they need her. I admire her strength because when we lost the house I was devasted but my mom's faith in GOD and his power to overcome anything she believes that something greater is on the way. I would cry everytime I think about losing the house and she would just hug me and tell me that it's going to be ok and that it's all apart of GOD's plan because HE has something better in store for us. She asked me to contact you guys when it happened because this was her favorite tv show and she loves watching HGTV. I was nervous so I didn't when it first happened because she would always ask me to contact you all and I would say mom we have house and it's in pretty decent shape I think lol she it needs a lot of work but to be honest I was scraed of being rejected. I told her a few years ago I was going to extend her house and make it bigger since she was always taken in someone and their kids and that's something she's always wanted. She thinks that the fire was all apart of GOD's plan so that she could rebuild bigger. Our house wasn't big at all but it was the go to house that all the holidays were celebrated at with her 17 sibilings her 4 kids and 8 grands and their kids and grands. talking bout a tight space humph but not only was it the house for the holiday celebrations it was the houe that they all would come to and sit everyday once they got off work the house all the kids got off the bus at and the house that they made Sunday dinner at everyday of the week.. lol pretty close family to be so big. and everyone gets along. yea I know kind of hard to believe but that's how they were raised I guess you can say my grandpaents didn't play the fighting thing in no kind of way they all have to look out for one another. This woman is phenominal she's full of love she's caring and to know her is to love her. She has started decorating all the peoples in the neighborhood Christmss décor, putting up Christmas trees and ard decorations which she usually starts on the day of Thanksgiving. And she's good at what she does. this is what she likes to do. She is the most kind-hearted human being that you will ever meet. Everyone that knows her loves her and she ain't never met a stranger lol. I was kind of nervous to write you all because my biggest fear is rejection but I prayed on this for sometime now and GOD lead me straight to this page. I didn't think Extreme Home Makeovers was still a thing since we haven't been able to find the show on tv which made my mom sad but I hope that you guys are still a thing and still in the blessing busines and I pray that you consider my family and that we are one of the chosen one's to receive such a wonderful blessing. GOD Bless everyone who has left comment and who is going through tough times and GOD Bless the entire Extreme Home Makeover team that make these kind of heart warming blessing come to be for those in need.

    Sincerely,
    The McBride family
