  2. Hi my name is Latoya Jackson and from the time I was born my dad my grandma and my mom have owned a house in Denver Colorado my mom is currently on oxygen and my dad is the one paying all the bills by itself after my grandma passed away in 2006 from cancer I was contacting because my dad works very hard to take care of his family and do the best he can but the home that they are currently staying in is in need of repair from every room in the house the plumbing the outside of it needs to be redone my dad tries his best to try to keep up with the house but bills are piling up due to my mom not being able to work and he's just not able to get the home repairs that is needed I was contacting you due to the simple fact that my dad has always been there for all of his kids and not once has he ever told us no and helping us achieve our dreams or get to where we need to be and I would so much appreciate it if my dad was able to get repairs on the home so he can enjoy his family and we won't have to worry about my Moms Oxygen and her health concerns with all the Asbestos and stuff in the home.

  3. We live in a home that was built in 1900. It's a nice neighborhood, but our home is one of the older homes in the neighborhood. There are multiple issues associated with the home. The architecture of the home is very outdated. Crooked floors, low ceilings, and tight spaces. The reason for reaching out to HGTV is because no matter what repairs/renovations are done to the home there is an unbalanced result. The house has been slowly falling apart and rotting, and much like others seeking help we try to make our contributions based on a low income. There are no industries in our area therefore making it difficult to find decent work with an income that meets the cost of living. My father is the owner of the home and has lived by himself since his wife, my mother, passed away due to cardiac arrest, which was a result of her fight with COPD and fibrosis attacking her lungs. She was the sole earner of income, and although ill she worked to meet the expectations of income to maintain the home and property. My father was the sole earner of income before he retired from his illness, which started with Parkinson's Disease and Diabetes. Since the passing of my mother I have moved in with my father to take care of him. Over these couple of years he was diagnosed with Hodgkins lymphoma, so now I am the sole earner of income, but I am unable to balance repairs, renovations, and maintenance of the home due to exceeding cost of hospital bills, which accumulate on a monthly basis due to the constant treatments for my father from hospitalizations. I am worried that eventually the house will not be able to withhold the damage associated with it, and although we attempt to fix these issues the same issues occur due to the odd architecture of the home. This isn't an outstanding home, but it is my childhood home, and it's very heart breaking to watch it slowly deteriorate with the passing of time. Contractors have even refused to come back to fix these issues because they claim that it can not be helped due to the odd architecture of the house. Basically one contractor claims it's nothing they've done wrong, but insists that it'd cost three times over what they originally charged. Some property insurances won't even insure the house due to the age of the house and it's lack of updated renovations, which can't be done because our income is going towards all bills, and the same issues being fixed consistently. I understand that this isn't the most critical condition that one has to deal with, but it is an issue that will only accumulate over the years to come, and unfortunately there is no way to move forward from here. God forbid what I'm about to say, but if my father were to pass away I wouldn't be able to afford all the bills and maintain this home, and with its condition no one would want to buy the home unless auctioned at an extremely low rate.

  6. Hi! I know it's a shot in the dark but I'm hoping and praying you guys would consider helping my friend, Debbie, who's in a wheelchair and has an amputated leg from a terrible motorcycle accident. She's got an amazing story if you'd consider listening to it! I think this would be so life-changing for her to have your help building an amazing home to accommodate her needs.

  8. Hi I am a family friend of a very heart Waring and loving family who is in desperate need of new home. This wonderful family helps anyone in need no matter what. The mother and father work hard everyday to stay afloat. They struggle with bills and health on a daily basis. Their son now 18, has cervial palisia and autistic which means he needs someone to help him in almost all his daily routines. He cant walk on his own or do harldy anything for himself. They manage to take care of him everyday between his needs his schooling and help him be a boy and enjoy life as much as possible. These parents work hard everyday and help and love people with everything they have. Their house is very old. Falling apart they try to keep in together with every last dime they have. These people may not help everyone but they make an impact on every person they have ever met. Their son may be 18 but to him he's just a boy who loves to play. And they are a family of love and happiness. They are in desperate need of a new home. It would change this wonderful family's lives forever.

  9. I am not more deserving then anyone else.

I am sharing my story as I don't know what else to do. I am a single mom of the most amazing 9 year old daughter. She is my life and I just want to provide in every possible way for her. I do have a boyfriend but we live separate (together 4 kids 1 mine 1 his 2 his step kids) am currently renting and can never make ends meet. My daughter's dad has made it very difficult for me to stay a float when he is doing well for himself. I am currently laid off as I work in the trades and with the economy I can't find work. I do not have the option to go out of town because I would have to leave my daughter.

I have anxiety but it is under control iy took a lot of self work but its better. I can't say its perfect I do get panic attacks randomly sometimes. This is a big reason that my ex is trying to take my daughter away from me. I am paying A lawyer an arm and a leg fighting for my daughter. While I was working I was giving half my cheque to the lawyer. I'm laid off I can't pay him now and scared I'm going to lose the lawyer and then my daughter.

I am not someone who asks for help but I have hit a hard wall that I dont know how to back out for my daughter sake. I need help and I don't even know if I'm asking the right people. I dont own my home you help people by building their dream home I don't have one. I just need help and don't have support other then my boyfriend…

I need help so I can focus and afford taking care of my girl and somehow afford the lawyer while keeping a roof over our head and food in her belly… Staying sane is a bonus but I'm sure I lost my sanity months ago

  11. My name is Angelina and I am putting this up for my mother Laura. Our home that is located in a beautiful small town on the Chesapeake Bay has sheltered us and others for 20 years now. It is a 2,957 SQ foot Dutch Colonial built in 1978 with about 6 acres of land and partial commercial property.
My mother has poured her blood sweat and tears into this home yet it seems to continue fall apart around us. Over the years that we've spent here, my mother has opened her home to multiple Foster Children, a single mom of 3 who was battling cancer, and young patients when she worked as a Registered Nurse in pediatrics.

Her original goal was to remodel the small potential apartment over the garage for my grandparents (her mom and dad) as they were getting up there in age. Sadly that came to a screeching halt when both of my grandparents died in a head on collision on Easter 2009. My family was never the same after that. They were the glue that held us together and our home only has deafening silence now.

Recently we lost my father to Leukemia. He had 6 tumors in his brain and passed away before his chemotherapy medicine was approved by insurance.

My mother continues to work as a Registered Nurse for 32 years and has never truely done anything for herself….except buy this house so we could raise our family here. With multiple hardships, my mother always kept her head up even though people would take her gentle kindness for granted. She deserves the help to salvage this home that is full of character yet still has so much potential with your help. Our home is falling apart around us as our lives crumbled over the years, please bless her with a gift of a lifetime.

  12. Hello! My mother just lost her home in the Oct. 2017 California Wildfires in Sonoma County. The home was built in the 1950's by her father. He built this home, from the ground up, entirely by himself. Unfortunately, all that is left of it is a single brick chimney…her house was completely destroyed. An opportunity such as this would change her life!

  16. Living in an apartment, that was loaded with mold, left this family, to lose so much. The mother raising two children, on her own, was left with sad news, that her personal belongings were not to be kept. Can we help, to repair, the happiness that should be. Please help.

  18. Hi, my family are the Bradshaw's we live in Madison, Tn. We have struggled a lot. My family ahs had a series of family blood clot issues, which caused a lot of debt. My mom has struggled over the years, and so we moved in with her dad, but that still didn't help. It is getting a little cramped, me my mom and my sister have to share one small bathroom, we have water spots on the kitchen ceiling, and the floor is coming up in the kitchen. Me and my sister room is getting a little too cramped, for a teenager and a preteen, even though we live so close to our neighbors I think this could be a good change and benefit for my family. Also, we live away from our family, so it would be nice to have space for them when they do come. Thank you soo much.

  21. My name is Michelle Gray, our kids are grown and it's just me and my hubby. We had recent disaster from Irma which caved in our septic tank and drain fill which at the time I thought we had insurance but once I swapped over the deed I was no longer covered. I've been without sanitation in my home since September and we are renting a portable toilet and using a outside shower. We had bathroom problems inside and decided to gut the bathroom and it was pretty bad on what we found. Lots of old termite damage. So right now we are living paycheck to paycheck trying to afford to do all this work but keeping finding more issues. Currently I have a tarp on backside of my home until we can afford to fix it. I can't afford to stay somewhere else and fix this too. Its starting to cool down here in florida and we could really use a knight in shining armor right now.

  22. I am a single mom with 2 wonderful children I recently bought a 3 bedroom 2 bath home built in 1975 with the hopes of fixing it up one day it needs a lot of work it needs a new roof new windows but my little sister had a baby and fell on hard time so her and her new born baby had to move in which means it will be a long while before I will ever be able to afford to fix this place up regardless it’s our home just wish it was a place my kids where proud to call home.

  23. Good day?am from Namibia, southern Africa. I wanted to find out how can I come up with such an initiative to help my community?I have started with only one project but it did not materialise becausr of lack of funds,I really want to start this in my country and be able to help my community that are suffering,i grew up being rejected by my mother and grew up most of the time on the street, the pain of not having a house to live inn is bad,am still renting a small place but I am more into helping my people then myself,I want to start such a project.build a centre for orphans and for people with disability. Create for them even a project of agricultural to take care of the centre. How do I go abput this passion and idea? How do I get help to start up? I am really in love with this type of projects.

  24. Hi my name is Annin Mendoza
The reason why I am writing to you , is my father; Elmer Roland Pugh,
Is living in a run down 2 bedroom 1 bath trailer home.
It can't be fix it is completely rotted floors bees has a nest in the ceiling, and mold everywhere.
I wish someone could please help my 81 year old dad.
I wish I could help him, but I can barely afford my own bills.

  25. Hi my name is Elaine Schuster and I'm from Samoa a small island country in the Pacific. I am not completely sure whether I am eligible to enter my plea for help with our home but I am sending it still, because I have no where else to turn to for help. I've been praying to God to show me someone or even show me a way so I can get some help to rebuild our worn down home, even if it's just to repair the leakages and the roofing which is really bad. Anyways here is my story:
I am a mother of 4 lovely children (2) boys & (2) girls unfortunately I lost my other son in 2007 due to cancer. I have 15 brothers & sisters in total and 6 are deceased, my parents both have passed away. All my brothers and sisters have gone and live their own lives with their children in their own homes. Right now I am living in our family home with my children, one of my brother and his 2 sons, one of my sisters, Patricia who is retard/handicap and she is the true reason for my plea for your help because lately she's been sick and complains of and aching back and body joints and I've been taking her to see the doctor many times, right now I'm the only one taking care of her with the help of my children and because I have a job at one of the supermarkets here I have to get up early every morning fix her breakfast and tell her to remember to eat first before she takes her bills. In the evening I have to fix our dinner and give her a shower. Most of the time especially at night she can't get a good sleep most probably because the bed she's using is worn out and the mattress she's using I think it's 50 years old and I can't afford to buy her a new one because my budget can't cover one we don't even have any good bedrooms to sleep in, the one my daughters are using has a leaking ceiling even the one my son is using, my poor sick sister has to sleep out in the open area because there's no bedroom for her and I have to sleep on the sofa with my legs hanging out because it's too short sometimes I get to sleep on the floor just so I can have more space to lie down. My poor daughter, Suliana who goes to school doesn't have enough space to do her school work and she gets to use the kitchen area to do it and so she can get some light because the electricity wiring is so bad most of the lights upstairs and downstairs don't work anymore. the woodwork upstairs is decomposing you can't walk up there because it'll break. So you see I am really seeking so hard for anyone out there who can help with the rebuilding of our home so my poor sister and children can live in a better and cleaner home especially my sister. The money I get from my job can only cover our weeks needs for food and for other daily needs. I've been praying and crying to God for help so when I came across your blog on the internet, I said to myself, "I'll just give it a try, maybe just maybe this is the Lord's answer to my prayers"…so here I am with my story…if ever my story reach your shores, your office and with luck it is accepted, and if needed by your organisation for proof, I can even send you a video of our home and showing everything that I've mentioned above. God please guide my request so that it leads to the good Samaritans out there wherever they are. Please, we really need your help so we can have a better place to live in, please. I have been under tremendous stress because of our living conditions and the worse things is I just can't afford to buy anything at all even a good bed for my sister. Please I'm giving you my mobile number just in case my plea get's answered..this is my number and my email at work is noted below. I Thank you so much from the bottom of my heart for your precious time. God Bless.

  26. August 6, 2017 not only forever changed my life, it has left me with ptsd and impaired my day to day life. On August 6th we found that my father had unexpectedly passed away in his home in Lynchburg, TN….ten days prior. My ten-year-old daughter is autistic(very high functioning thru many therapies and tears) and her Pa hung the moon in her eyes. Being his only child and him being recently divorced a court deemed me sole heir in law….but the house in its current state is uninhabitable and causes me major anxiety. I would love nothing more than to be able to make this property everything he envisioned it could be and also make it an inhabitable place to raise my daughter with my fiance. A place to make new, wonderful memories instead of nightmares and terror.

  27. We flooded during Hurricane Harvey only after relocating to Houston a year ago. We have three kids, our home is gutted, our street is a ghost town, our oldest is a senior in high school.

    Cannot access application.

  28. My story is a little different from others. My family is not originally from the U.S. I am but I married a man who is not and neither are the children. Well I purchased a home in haste in order to have a place for us to live. The home is a nice starter home. Since 2015 after moving into the home so much has gone we Rong with the home. The electrical is shit, the appliances are old and worn, the toilets and bathrooms are not working properly. We are able to make it work for us but we never invite anyone over because of the condition of the home. The children who's ages are 17,15,12,and 10 are not able to enjoy the simple things in life that typical children can enjoy. My husband works out of town and works hard to provide for the family. The needed repairs to the home and the needs of the children along the bills are too much for my husband. He tries so hard but this is really too much him. We need help!!!

  29. Hello
I live in the small town of Hampton CT. On the night of October 26 there was a tragic fire where Judy Noel lost her home and entire contents of all of her belongings while she was at work. Coming home to the loss she also had to endure the loss of her only child-Dakota -age 16. He did not make it out of the home. Judy has worked at the local Elementary School for years and is loved in our small town as a kind, caring, giving Single Mom who would do anything for anyone and she loved her boy more than life itself. I wish there was some way to help her out in this terrible time with this unimaginable loss. Trying to make ends meet she let her Homeowners Insurance lapse and nothing is covered. I do not know how she can go on-losing EVERYTHING. Please help us help this poor Woman. A go fund me page has raised $22,000.00 yet no where near enough. Thank you for considering her.

  30. Hi there Ty (and everybody else) xx
This request comes from me all the way from South Africa, on behalf of a friend who stays in Edinburgh, Scottland. I have none of the details you're asking for in the application form as I don't have these details and I don't want to ask her unless I get word from you that you might consider helping her. My friend also does not know that I am writing to you. My heart broke when she told me her life story, and I immediately thought of you guys. I would like to copy and paste our entire facebook message dialogue for you here, but before I can submit that, I need a solemn promise from you that what I'm about to share with you will NOT be made public, unless my friend gives permission, should you decide to considder helping her. Needless to say, there is VERY VERY private and confidential information included in this conversation. Looking forward to hearing from you.
Warm regards (and a little bit of love :P)

  34. Hi: After a short visit to my sister-in-law's dilapidated five acre horse farm located in Palm City, FL, it dawned on me that the only chance of my teenage nephew has living in a decent house would be to call in the experts at Extreme Home Makeover. My brother tragically passed away 15 years ago from cancer and the property has gradually eroded into a place where even a $100,000 investment would only elevate it to "a piece of crap." Being void of a man's presence for 15 years, most everything is "broken" or "busted," no air conditioning and weak water pressure are just a few of the problems that plague this once great property. 35. So the Wallace family downfall began in 2008. I was in 5th grade when my mother, Valerie Wallace, had her first migraine. It was bad, to say the least, she had to remain bedridden, in the dark, and with zero stimuli until the pain in her head subsided. We thought it wouldn't happen again, but we were terribly mistaken. My mom eventually lost her job because day after day she would be bedridden and in the dark because of her migraines. To this day they still come and go, but for the most part, they are under control due to botox treatment. But it took us all those years to finally find something that works. I had to watch my mom be a guinea pig for multiple types of new migraine treatments. And just when we thought things couldn't get worse, we discovered my Mom has stage four colorectal cancer that had spread to her liver. Fortunately, chemotherapy has kept her cancer under control, and at the moment there is no new evidence of disease. But now among migraines that still pop up, she has seizures semi-frequently. Not epileptic seizures, but rather seizures where she basically "blacks out". She'll say nonsensical things as well as do things she doesn't remember. It's very sad, there are lapses in the day that she just doesn't remember because of these seizures. And the woman has never wronged anyone in her life. Fortunately enough I remember what she was like before she got so sick. She was a behavior analysist for a company named Glenwood. She worked with kids and adults with autism and worked to help them adapt to day to day situations as well as develop behavioral plans of actions for their relatives. Not to mention she was a faithful member of Prince of Peace Catholic Church in Hoover, AL. Unfortunately now she is too sick most Sundays to attend mass.

I write today in the hopes that someone out there can help out my family. Recently my father, Bill Wallace (The only working member of our family), lost a large sales client and it's already starting to affect us financially. We have no savings and have to scrape to get by month to month. To whom it may concern, please help us.

  36. My name is Kathy Mustar. I am writing you for my sister Darlene Cole. They live in Newcomerstown, Ohio. They have had a very rough year and rougher years to come. They lost there daughter last year who had 4 young children. There father is in jail for molesting one of their daughters. They live in a very small house and my sister is now raising the four children and taking care of our mother who is 94. Her husband is disabled and she can no longer work due to the fact that she has all these people to take care of. She is 65 years old and it is taking a toll on her. Because the father of the 4 children is in jail, she only gets $ .01 monthly for child support, and they take that for the processing fees! It would be such a blessing if you could help her out.

  37. My name is Sara McLuckie.
A week before I was to begin my senior year of college my Mom & I had just gotten off a city bus, when we were struck by a Ford Mustang traveling at over highway speed. The ambulance crew were expecting to find 2 dead bodies, but we were barely alive. My Mom was rushed to the hospital, and Life Flight flew me to a Trauma Center that was equipped to handle head injuries. This accident left me in varying stages of a coma for almost five years. My disabilities are getting progressively worse the older I get. I am now getting to a point that, in order to maintain my independence and not to be a burden to my family or society, I am needing a condo. near a rail stop on a light-rail or commuter -rail line. This will allow me to NOT be a burden on my family or society. I have heard of a six-unit net-zero condo in Canada. There is not enough Disabled Housing anywhere in America. If you could build a net-zero disabled apartment complex NEAR mass transit it would be such a blessing!

  38. Hello, I am writing in today to hopefully spark interest in my story. I am a single dad with two beautiful daughters ages 9 and 13. After my divorce in 2012, I was left with a house that was in need of work, an empty bank account, and my two daughters 4 nights a week. I always said that going throught the divorce was the hardest thing I ever had to endure, but at least I had my two girls most of the time. During the two year divorce I would go to auctions because i enjoyed it and it got my mind off everything. I felt it was better than going to therapy and at least I was getting thing that i could sell and maske money to fix up the house. I was starting to make the repairs when my youngest daughter, age 7, was diagnosed with lukimiea. The date was August 2015. This is why the divorce turned out to be not the worst thing i have ever been through. I am living it now. At first i thought sorry for my self and my family. It is so hard watching your daughter go through all the treatments and get down to 40lbs. To see your child that have long blonde hair that feel out as I would hold her. And see all her hair on your shoulder where her head rested. To see her sister in a battle for her life, but also feel pushed aside and not be able to visit other family members because her sister had cancer. To not be able to do the things we use too due to the lack of funds. To see your savings dwindled down to care for your daughter.
I now have realized that My family is very fortunate. We have a children's hospital in Columbia SC. As I had said before, I was really feeling sorry for myself and fa much until I meet other family members who also had children with cancer. One family had lost one child already and had a son in treatment now; however, they did not feel sorry for themselves. It was at that point that I realized I should be greatful for what I do have.
My daughter is now 9 and is scheduled to ring the bell in Jan of 2018. She is still getting chemo and other medications on a daily basis, but is now able to go back to school. I have watched her have to grow up way too fast with her battle, but could not be more proud. It has also been very draining and I have not had the time or strength to start back on all the projects I started and had to drop in 2015. And get overwhelmed by all that needs to be done; pool repaired, laandscaping, roof leaking, sheet rock repair, and out dated kitchen, bathrooms leaking tub, water stains on ceiling, etc. My daughter's are asking me to fix up the house but i just do not know where to start. If anyone is interested in my story or know of any programs that could be intetested, please contact me at jdunavant@aol.com. Thanks James.

  39. Hello there my name is Sarah and I’m writing you this letter in the hopes you can help my parents. My mom has struggled her whole life. she is now 52 and has many health problems that make it very difficult for her to work and even be able to pay the bills for that matter. 4 years ago my mom was at her full time job and slipped on some grease an employee spilled and failed to clean up. My mom slipped broke her neck and cracked her shoulder bone. She has suffered a great deal, was also diagnosed with fibromyalgia due to that. 6 months after this accident happened she blacked out in her hallway at her home, and broke her right leg and ankle she needed surgery immediately and had a large medal pin put in her ankle. A year after her surgery she was always in pain with her ankle and found out the pin was not working and her body was rejecting it. She needed the surgery all over again. She slowly recovered from her second surgery. In the mean time my dad was working full time to try and get the bills payed and take care of my mom all at the same time. Their vehicle broke down and now they drive this real beater car that has problems everyday. Their home they love but it’s literally falling apart their back room the roof is caving. Their back deck the wood has holes all over they can’t even sit and enjoy their back yard anymore. The electrical in the entire home is falty. I worry one day the house will go up in flames it’s very dangerous. Their washer and dryer broke and have not been able to get one in years. It’s been a real struggle for them both. They are wonderful people and only deserve something nice. In which I can’t even help them out myself. My mom always keep a smile on and always helps everyone else but herself. She is a very selfless woman she is my hero. I love her very much and only want the best for her. In the midst of all this I was in a terrible head on car accident and was in alot of pain myself and my mom was right by my side even with her problems she never stopped to help me. A year ago I got a bad call saying my mom had a bad heart attack and was in the hospital. It was another close call for her. She has not had any good luck. I took 2 years off stopped my entire life, quit college to be with my mom and take care of her. She is now working a few hours here and there to just get out of the house and be around other people. She suffers everyday with Stress and things falling apart and not having any money to be able to get things for the house and fix things up that need to be delt with badly. Now on thanksgiving we all found out my grandpa her father was diagnosed with colon cancer so it’s not good we have all banded together to get him healthy and be in good spirits. When it rains it pours.
I can only wish and pray to god this letter I have written gets to good hands and can help out my mom and dad and family!!!!!
This has been a tough road for us all.

  44. Hello, My name is Nikki. I am a proud granddaughter of a 97 year old WWII Veteran that has been living alone up until Monday, October 23, 2017. He was placed in the hospital for 3 days and is now in a rehab facility to help overcome his illness. We are hoping he will be strong enough to come home. My grandfather has fallen in the past few months due to decreased mobility and the layout of the home. His appetite has decreased and he has lost wt as well. I pray that we can find someone to help show their appreciation to my grandfather and our family and help to remodel or makeover his house he calls "home"

Ramps, walk in tub, wider doorways and everything he would need to have the quality of life after fighting for our country. He loves to sit in his lounge chair with his "WWII" hat on sharing the war stories with his loved ones. He is proud of his country. Grandpa is a proud father of Military sons and grandsons, yet also has great grand children to enjoy as well.

Please take in consideration, this man I call a HERO that fought for our country and make his home a "healthy and safe home" for him to continue his life after he is released for rehab.

    Thank you in advance.

  45. Hi , I'm looking to get some help for my aunt and her family. My aunt is the type of person that would give the shirt off her back to help any one in need. Well now its her turn to receive off. Her trailer needs major repair or demolished. Her electric wiring needs to be repaired and her well is in need of repair. Floors need to be repaired. She is disable and her Husband cannot work due to medical problems. Her yard looks like a junk yard and is need of major help. I wished I could financially help her but unfortunately I'm unable. I'm hoping that Extreme makeover will help my aunt and uncle.

  46. My name is Sarah. My husband, Eric and I moved to northern Wisconsin 12 years ago to raise our family in this beautiful area. We have been so blessed to live in such a beautiful rural land. Our children have grown up hiking in the woods, seeing waterfalls, and all the glory this area has to offer. While we have had many wonderful times here, we have also experienced tragedy. In May of 2006, I was in a motor vehicle accident, with my mother, my daughter, and myself. Unfortunately, my mother was killed in this accident. I was severely injured and air lifted to another hospital and spent time in a nursing facility. Once physically healed, we went about our life again. We have struggled financially for many years since the accident, and were barely scraping by. During the last few years, we also lost a couple family members, one to suicide, and one to natural causes, which were difficult for our families to go through. I made the decision to go back to school to get my Master's degree in order to hopefully contribute financially for my family. On August 27th, 2017, we were going out of town for a last hurrah before the kids went back to school, and we received a call stating that our beautiful log home, was fully engulfed in flames. We turned back on the highway to return to our home, and watched our life go down in flames. The home where our children have lived in was no more. The pets we all loved, were no more. The once happy, easy going children, are now filled with a loss that no child should have to experience. Everything we owned, loved, and treasured, is gone. Our home had been a log home that reminded us of a home you would see in movies. It was a warm, inviting, log home that was filled with laughter and love. It was a home family loved coming to. It was a home that our children cherished and knew. That security is no more. We have a home to go to in six months, but it requires much more work than we are capable of doing and providing for. We want so very much to provide our children with another home that they will feel secure, happy, and will once again be filled with laughter, and of course a dog and a cat. This new home can not ever replace the one we lost, but we want nothing more than to help make our children know that while we lost everything, we can once again be happy and make this new place our home. Our family has experienced a tragedy I wish no other person would have to go through. I hope our family will no longer feel the heaviness of the loss of our home, and I wish for nothing more than the burden of the financial aspect of the "new" home projects, and the physical aspect of the work to be alleviated for my husband. He has worked so hard for years to provide for our family, but he is one person and the expenses of the improvements is immense. We would appreciate having someone be our shining light during this difficult time.

  47. Two country girls trying to do better with our lives . Me , my 6 month old baby and sister live together and it’s been pretty rough on us , our family members do not support us whatsoever , all we have is each other . We REALLY need the help !

My name is Queen Jackson, my grandmother is 68 and has 5 extra bodies living with her which would be 6 people living in a 3 bedroom 1 bath house. Two of the extra people that live in the house are my uncles 1 who has special needs and has to be taken care of and 1 who was born with leg problem. As for the other 3 people that live with her that would be my aunt and her 2 kids, my aunt stays there to make sure that my uncles and grandma are okay and to make sure someone is there if anything was to happen. We have a big family and love to all go to my grandmas to celebrate holidays and birthdays, but it gets hard when there isnt enough space for everyone. I would love to get a house make over for my grandma because i know how much she stresses over her house and bills and paying for her medication although she wont say it i can tell.

  51. Hi, a few years ago y wife and I bought a small farm in San Antonio TX. In 2016 we were married and moved to TN to be with my elderly parents. We rented the farm to a couple who owned a cleaning business even though they fully admitted that their credit was not so good. Long story short, we took a 500 per month loss on the mortgage payment in exchange for upkeep of the house property and animals. The couple said they'd like to purchase the farm in a few years and that they would treat it as their own home… needless to say, the only thing that went as arranged was our taking a loss each month while they ended up destroying much of the property, (voided the well warranty by replacing and reworking a 6 month old well and rerouting the pipes from city water) the home, and a truck, tractor, and riding mower to name a few things.
I am a retired military servicewoman who is obviously too kind and trusting. I can't afford to rebuild in TX while living and working in TN, nor can I do any of the repairs myself. I've never asked for assistance from others, especially something like this, but I need to fix the house and situation immediately! Thank you.

  52. My name is Kenneth James and me and my wife got married in Nov of last year. We are very excited to start a new life with our growing family. We have a 2 year old girl, and another girl on the way due in a couple of months. THe reason we are contacting you guys is cause the house we are staying in now is a health hazard, and is falling apart and isnt safe for me and my kids. My mother and father both passed within the last five years and we took over the house. We have been trying to keep the house in good shape but its costing way to much. We have mold growing in the walls water damage leaks everywhere, plus we think the foundation of the back of the house is starting to shift a tad bit. We also now have a huge pest problem. With cracks all in tje house bugs and even mice are getting in, plus it gets really cold in the winter. We are promised a better life by a family member who revently came across some money, but it turns out he was feeding us false hopes. I still care for my family but i want something better for my wife and children. It tears me apart that I cant give it to them, so I ask to please help us. Its my wifes dream come true to not only get a new home, but to be able to help build one.

  55. I am a 25 yr old single mother. I bought my first house on my own, I went through the entire loan process and everything. 3 weeks of owning and there was a water leak. I had experts come in to kill all of the mold and such, which my insurance paid for, but they left my new home gutted and in shambles so now I have a house I cannot live in because the 'experts' left it a wreck. I wanted to show my son that just because his father and I are not together, I can still make a life for us and we can still have all the things that normal families have. But I failed him because we cannot even live in our house.

  57. Hi Ty,
I'm Hazel and a big fan of your show. I know it's quite impossible but I'm from the Philippines.
I'm writing this with high hopes that you can help me for my new beginning. I'm a nurse but i don't have luck to be employed in my country so i went to other country to work. When I had my first salary and it wasn't much, I sent it straight to my mother to start fixing 1 part of our house. Before I left my country, I only want to fix and finish our house. But I got pregnant, so i stopped working and the little money may family had is what I used to nurture my baby because I didn't receive any help from the father of my baby. With strong heart I left the country again when my baby was only 1 year old to work because I didn't have any money to buy her needs. It was very heartbreaking to be away from her wherein I used to talk to the moon and stars to spark as a kiss to my daughter. I suffered depression due to infidelity of the father of my child plus stressful work. I had fatigue, low blood results, bruising and severe dizziness that i cannot perform my job well. I don't have enough savings either because my child is always sick and in the hospital. When I had my holiday from work I realized that what is more important is that I will be with my child raising her well and not to over stress myself because she needs me. I started to do small business but my earning is not enough for me to save to continue my dream to finish our house because I have to prioritize the necessities. I was broken again when the father of my child finally left us and i have nothing. Our roof is rusty, our door is broken with metal stick only as the lock, our toilet bowl is not working well, our walls are dripping wet when it rains because it's not polish, our comfort room has it's second shower because when it rains it goes inside like a shower and most especially my daughter is always sick because of her environment and I don't have spare money for fixing the house. I cannot pursue my clinical nurse profession because of my health. And it's terrible to throw away my profession but I have to be well to take care of my child. Now I'm a single mother still living with my parents and my sister and her husband.
Now I'm experiencing again depression as I always look back my old self with those high dreams but now I got nothing and more important to me now is that I'm with my daughter and I will never leave her again because I'm her mother and father. Realizing that before I wanted to be a great nurse but now i want to be a good mom. It's not my dreams anymore but it's my daughter's wellness is more important to me. I wanted to continue our lives and i need help to do it. I'm not expecting but please consider my story of being broken and trying to fix my life and start again. Help me build our house to build the hopes i had before and eventually good things will happen.Thank you.

  61. Please see link below related to the gofundme page my sister set up for our family after the recent loss of our mother. It tells a small part of our story.
My stepdad is left raising the three grandchildren he and my mom adopted years ago by himself since moms recent passing. The boys ages 13, 8, and 7. The house they live in they have been in for 14+ years. It is a very small 3 bdrm home with 1 bathroom and a very small living room. So small the whole family cannot all sit in there together at one time. The house needs a lot of work but there is no money. My stepdad is not working as he had to leave his job when mom became hospitalized. With all that my family has been through, getting this makeover would be a dream come true. My mom and stepdad are 2 of the most generous, selfless, caring people and this would help in a big way. Living in the very small house is my sister, 3 nephews, my stepdad and 2 dogs. I too, am falling on hard times and may at some point need to move back home to this same house and add myself and my 3 children. Please if possible help make this one thing possible for my wonderful family who give so much to others and have been through so much lately. Thank you.

  63. There is a Wildlife Rehabilitator in Iowa. Her name is Tracy. She lives on a farm and cares for hundreds of critters every year. Her life is dedicated to saving animals. She spends her own money trying to pay for expensive medical care and food and equipment for the animals. She is the kindest and most selfless person I have ever known. Please consider helping her build a sanctuary and clinic for the injured and abandoned babies she saves.

  66. This past year has been a hard one for this family. First we lost out grandfather last year due to cancer. Than, they lost their son in June at the age of 23 to cancer, and suddenly lost their father/husband/papa this past October in a tragic car accident. Their house is extremely unsafe, the father was working on it, it was his dream, and I would love to be able to honor that for them. His wife is now a widow of 3 teenagers and taking care of her 1 and 3 year old grandsons. This has been a devastating year and I would absolutely love to see this family get what they need and love to see their fathers/husband dreams come true. I've watched your show since I was a little girl and always said if I knew I could help someone I would, so please from the bottom of my heart please help them. Thank you

  67. Hi my family are really in need of a place to call home we have a new born who is forced to sleep on the floor because we don't have anywhere to put him. We are struggling to make ends meet and even eat. We have termites, mold and a big leak in the roof. We have only bathroom. My mom has taken in a lot of people who don't have anything to try and help them and now she's getting to an age where she's going to stop working soon and we are afraid of how she will pay the bills. Hopefully you guys can help us . Please we need you.

  68. My name is Melissa. I am hoping to find the help to better my parents' living. Raising 7 kids; my step mom Debbie used to work in a nursing home as a CNA and as a janitor at a local doctor's office. In the past 10 years she has faced knee replacements, multiple kidney stone surgeries which she is currently in the hospital from having one kidney removed. She is also the main caregiver for my dad. My dad is in a wheelchair due to only having one leg. Before the start of many infections in his leg a couple years ago, he was ministering at correctional facilities and helping those in the community fighting addictions through AA meetings. Over the last fee years he has spent probably more time in the hospital than not. Dealing with pnuemonia, bronchitus, numerous infections, and kidney failure. In 2008 they had to move due to not being able to afford their previous home. The house they live in needed some work done from the beginning but it seemed like their circumstances just kept getting worse by the day and have been unable to fix things. This has caused them to have a big amount of their possessions still in boxes taking up 1 of the 2 bedrooms and in storage that are slowly being ruined by weather. I would like to help in making their house more liveable and handicap accessible for them. Somewhere they dont have to worry about the space of medical supplies or having the dining room usable. A space for their 20 grandchildren to enjoy.

  69. Extreme Makeover would be a gift for my family from heaven; in the past year and half my mother has almost died 4 times. She has been in and out of the hospital with sepsis and kidney dialysis and pulmonary embolyisms and has just recently started walking again after being in a wheel chair for over 8 months. I know there are plenty of other stories out there but i want this one to be something special a gift from me to my parents. I was adopted by them in 2008 along with my younger sister. me and my younger sister both have autism and at the age of 4 i was delivering newspapers and not being paid and i was going door to door asking for food and was taking care of a diabetic grandmother and a 2 year old. This would make my parents dream a reality. And would be much appreciated. I am now a senior and would like to surprise my parents with a thank you gift that really hits home for us and would last a life time. Thank you.

  72. Hi my name is Stacie McBee, I just moved back in with my mom. I'm sick with astmah, bronchitis and CG heart failed. She really needs a home makeover. She had a heart of gold and gives too much of herself for her family. She may have mold in her home and she has astmah and allegories herself. She work s her but off at nursing home, and also makes cakes for sale. Has two bathrooms that seriously needs fixing, by being higher toilets due to arthritis. She helps me my two brothers and her husband selfishly without thinking of her first. I'm sure I'm going to be here til I get a little better, unless she could have a extreme home makeover. If anyone deserve it she does. I think we both would be a little better if we at least get walls and floors redone for mold check. Thanks for reading my story.

  73. Hello,
My father has a lung disease, is on continuous oxygen and has lost approximately 50 lbs. His partner suffers with back pain from an accident but does all she can to care for him. They currently live in a two-story home with a considerable mortgage. The stairs will soon make it impossible for them to continue living there. My father also has a an old rental home that he has rented out for years. It has been his backup plan to move in to the home with his partner when he could no longer go up and down the stairs. However, he was recently unlucky with a renter that destroyed his home own with help from squatters he could not get off the property without the help of the media and the police. (See story below by clicking on link and ). The home is badly in need of an extreme makeover. It would be a dream come true and a life saver if he were to be selected for the next extreme makeover! I am his daughter and am doing all I am able to help my father.

Title: Saskatoon landlord prepared for lengthy eviction battle

A Saskatoon landlord and his daughter say they could be in for a lengthy eviction battle with a tenant.

Debora Senger and her father, who owns the home on the 400 block of Avenue R South, served an eviction notice Sept. 16 but say the tenant doesn’t want to leave.

“She hasn’t paid full rent in four months. In addition, she hasn’t paid any of the utilities to the point at which the water was cut off about a month and a half ago,” Senger said.

Debris sits in a yard on Saskatoon's Avenue R South. The landlord and his daughter say they served an eviction notice to the home's tenant Sept. 16 but that the tenant doesn't want to leave. (supplied)

Senger’s father is 72 years old and on continuous oxygen, so she helps him manage the property.

She said last week debris and needles were strewn across the yard and that she believes other people have begun squatting on the property.

She recently boarded up the windows in an attempt to keep out would-be squatters and hired a crew to remove some of the debris over the weekend.

Senger is still waiting to set up a hearing to retake possession of the home.

“Our hope is to have the tenant ultimately vacate the premises,” she said.

Senger said she and her father believe the best-case scenario, at this point, is for the tenant to be out by late October.
