  1. Hello! Wow everyone's stories are amazing. Sending love and prayers to everyone who has commented.
My name is Tarah and my family lives in Snohomish, Wa just North of Seattle. We were recently thrilled to be able to purchase the home we had been renting for 5 1/2 years as we were having trouble finding a one story home in our budget in the same area. We have a 12 year old Daughter and needed to keep her in the same school with the same support system. I have MS (dx 13 years ago) and rely heavily on family and community to help out when I am not feeling well.
I do not work outside the home. When I am feeling well I meditateand practice reiki (energy healing) Rob works as an appliance salesperson and supports us 100%. Did I mention I was a single Mom, with MS when we met!? Yeah.. he's AMAZING!!
So now we have this house. It's great! But it needs work. He works constantly and I'm not exactly cut out for manual labor 😉 it's a bit overwhelming. He acts like it isn't stressful but I know it is. That's a lot on one persons shoulder's. He works, does the grocery shopping, helps with homework, sports, carpool, pets, whatever I need, you name it… including pushing me up a huge hill in a wheelchair when I'm not feeling well so I get the best view of a waterfall!
But we need drainage dug (it's a mud bog here) and new floors, new chimney, fireplace, furnace, new windows, new insulation in the attic, new showers, walls maybe (water damage) wider hallway would be nice (w/c accessible), open floor plan… I'd love more space for the cats! Yes we have 4 cats including 2 Bengals and a Sphynx ! I call them my therapy animals, they help me enough rough days (and everyday!). They need a catio.
My dream is to have a yurt out back for a meditation space and to host retreats.
Rob's dream is a big shop for his garage stuff and quads. Kaiya's dream is a pasture for a (maybe someday horse) we currently have chickens.
Other than all that we are really just a typical family shuffeling work, volleyball, vet appts, laundry, camping trips, infusions and staying positive through all of life's ups and downs. Humor is how we get through most everything.

  2. I'm actually asking on behalf of a family whom are close to my heart. Both parents suffered from cancer in the past whilst their two gorgeous girls were young, however they both survived and are thankfully here today. Following this trauma, they encountered some incredible financial difficulties in which left one of them unemployed, and the other desperately trying to keep her dream shoe shop open. Sadly after hitting an indestroyable wall, the shop was closed leaving her unemployed, however that is the least of her worries. The eldest daughter, a close friend of mine has been self harming since she was 9..she is now 17 turning 18. She had to leave school, has been in and out of various hospitals and facilities over the years and it breaks my heart to say after a year of being clean from suicide attempts, a week ago she tried to take her own life. In addition to this, since the recent death of her grandma followed by their beloved dog, whom lived with them in their little house, seemed to be the cherry on the cake for the younger sister (11) as she has now been admitted to a unit for several, severe, attempted suicides. Two days ago, both girls who are extremely close to me and whom I love dearly, tried to take their own lives on the same day, fortunately they received help in time and are now in different hospital facilities. I can't help but feel useless in trying to help and support the parents whom have ALWAYS been a second family to my sister and I, however I am CERTAIN that being able to allow them to return to a home which is warm, clean, un cluttered, safe and homely would make the world of a difference in not only being an escape for them, but in helping the girls relax in a place which they should ALWAYS be feeling safe and relaxed in. I can't express to you how much this would mean to me, and to them, and I know this is a huge ask, but I cannot imagine a family who have been through as much as this one, and for so long, yet are still somehow surviving as a unit. They don't know I've sent in for this, but I know this would mean more than the world to them, as they would never be able to do anything like this for themselves, no holidays, no weekends away, not even a comfortable, functioning home.
    Please.
    Thank you.

  3. Hi, my name is Dana and I'm from the Czech Republic. I'm following your show and I thought I'd try to write. There is no such show in our country or elsewhere in Europe, unfortunately. I do not know if this is possible, but could not you try to do a special piece and come to help outside of America? I would like to write something about myself and I apologize in advance for my English, with Google translation help with your translation. My name is Dana, I'm 29 years old, I live with a friend and two children. Adel is 8 years old and has autism. The younger daughter is 17 months old and is named Gabriela Kristýna. After her birth my doctors diagnosed acute leukemia and all our savings went to my treatment, we had to sell the car. My friend is 50 and after the heart attack, he has a heart and the doctor does not let him go. Before we started living together, I lived with a husband who drank a lot of alcohol, and I was struck by my daughter. My current friend gave me the strength to leave him. We had a beautiful family house, my friend owned a car painting shop and everything was amazing. But then my husband decided to take revenge and scammed us about both the car painting and the house. Now we live in a panel house, where we have to pay monthly 8100 Czech Crowns, but my monthly income is only 3800 Czech Crowns and the rest we always have to borrow somewhere. We are in a terrible situation, and nobody cares about it in our state, no one cares. Now we are threatening to end up with children on the street. Please feel free to try and help us.

  4. I am writing to you about my brother-in-law and sister-in-law, this Feb. they got custody of their 5 grandchildren. They have a daughter living at home, she is disabled. The house is 1365 sq. ft. a small house for 8 people. They were told they need to add bedrooms and a bathroom to the house. Along with that the house needs repairs done to it. My brother-in-law has back problems and had been out of work for years because of it. He has just started back working, he is in pain all the time, but he is trying to do his best for the five children.

  6. Good morning . I am writing you in regards to my aunt. She and my uncle have a house that is a 3 bedroom two car garage. They have made the den in to a room. They have two of their daughter's living with them as well as 5 grandchildren. A total of 9 people , three of which have disabilities. My uncle and one of their daughter's work to pay all their bills. Their home is too small for all of them and it is falling apart. Their are holes in the roof, air conditioning leaks, mold and mildew. The house is way too cramped up and they could desperately use your help. My aunt has 1 car that she shares with another daughter that lives in her own with 4 children. So she is always stranded at home. Please help them and make what they love in a home to come to every night. I don't know if anyone who deserves this more then her.

  7. Hi, my names are Polinah Palesa Poane. Im a 29 year old mom of four beautiful boys aged 10, 8, 5 and 20months, based in Botswana , Africa. Im also married to an amazing guy. Im struggling to get the financial aid i need to start my project. Two years ago, my now 10 nd 8yr old boys csme up with the idea to build a recreational park in our city, Gaborone, which is the capital city of our country. It will be the first of its kind, as we do not have rec parks here. I have been unemployed for 6years now and so this project would be our family business. My husband works, but now keeping the family going has been a struggle since he now has to pay medical bills. A little more than a year ago he was diagnosed with stage5 chronic renal failure. Which means his kidneys no longer function, so he immediately started dialysis which has been very difficult for all of us. My heart now aches as i see how much difficult its is for us and i feel that as a wife i am failing my husband and kids. I should also be able to help provide for the house. I understand that what i am asking for is too much, especially that i reside in a different continent but your help will be highly appreciated. Construction of this project its almost impossible without your help. Thank you in advance.

  8. Hi my name is Jennifer, my husband's name Daniel. We have 4 children aged 16, 15, 9 and 4. My husband has been diagnosed with stage 4 salivary cancer and has a hard time doing normal everyday things. I try my hardest to help out but have been working two jobs so he doesn't have to worry about having to work and concentrate on his health. It is hard to do a lot of the repairs needed around the house because of the medical bills and just not having the time. We would greatly appreciate a home makeover to alleviate some of the stress with the repairs needed.

  9. Hi my name is Samantha, and i'm writing this comment in hopes for my mother to at least see one day of happniess before god calls her home. My mother has always put myself, and my sister first. After her divorce, she never had a boy friend in replacement of our dad, and now that i am older i realize that she has never been happy. She is now 67 years old, and has numerous medical problems that are pretty much incurable, but the biggest concern of mine is her mobility being limited, and her always being in her home, that is infested uncontrollably with roaches. She has an extreme loss of oxygen to her brain, so what she inhales in very crucial. I've never seen happiness in her other than when her grandbabies are around. Unfortuneately, we cannot afford to move into another home, and i'm scared that if we don't do something soon, she will never see a day of happiness before her time her is done. She has never done wrong to anyone, has the biggest heart, but yet still seems to suffer in the oddest ways. Please help me at least make what she worked for, her comfortable and safe place to live. She has the beginning stages of damentia, and she just begins to care less and less. I'm asking for your help. Please give my mother an extreme makeover of a lifetime, that she will never forget.

  11. Hello. My name is Heathers mclean. My nephew Aidan crookshank was diagnosed with the rare ALEXANDER DISEASE.
    He is 2 1/2.
He has had symptoms since birth but beings it's so rare it took a long time to figure out what has exactly going on. He has a form of ataxia that at 2 1/2 he still can not walk even with leg brace assistance and has many delays.
His progress isn't great and I just want him to have the best life possible while he can

Axd is a neurodegenerative fatal disease. It is a genetic disorder affecting the central nervous system. It causes delays in development of physical, psychological and behavioural skill and a gradual loss of bodily functions.

Axd belongs to a group of diseases known as leukodystrophies. These affect the growth and development of the myelin sheath (the fatty, white substance surrounding our nerve cells.) Consequently, the white matter of the brain is gradually destroyed. In Axd fibrous, eosinophilic deposits also form in the astrocytes of the brain. These are known as rosenthal fibres. The build up of these can form gliomas/tumours, which can vary in being low grade and slow growing, to more rapid, resulting in a need to use therapy or surgery.

Currently statistics suggest that approximately 500 cases of Alexander’s disease are reported. Most of these cases are of infantile and juvenile onset, with adult onset being less common. There is no cure at present, with prognosis being poor. Generally an early onset of death is expected, usually within 10 years from the onset. Typically, the earlier in life the onset occurs, the quicker its course will run.

His mother, my sister is a single mother working 40+ hours a week. They live with my mother and father who are also some of his main care givers taking him to specialist and his daily needs.
They all live in a run down mobile home that we all grew up in.
I've since moved out and have my own little family but they are still there.
This place is not handicap friendly.
It is small and falling apart.
Aidan will undoubtedly need the use of all wheelchair in only all matter of time and is is not possible in their tiny mobile home. Nor is is disabled friendly for him.
I'm reaching out so that hopefully someone can help for aidan so he may have the best life he can, in the short time that he can as there is no cure, no treatment.
    Please help.

  12. Hi! My name is Samantha. I am asking for help for my aunt. She is in her 60s and has lupus. And she doesn't have the money but we believe she has some type of bone cancer. She has taken chemo therapy but she had to stop taking it bc she couldn't afford to pay for the treatments. She works at a little breakfast burrito shop. The owner is her friend and has known her for over 20+ years. She has worked at the burrito shop for the 20+ years bc that is the only place she could work at because of her condition. She could be working and all of a sudden her bones start to cringe. Like her fingers stay folded. And her body stays stiff. The lady from the burrito shop had to let her go bc of her condition. She's tried to get gov. Help but she doesn't qualify. Her husband is the only one who is working. And he tries to fix up there house but never can because his checks go to bills. There house an over about to collapse. There bathroom has a hole on the ground. Near the bathtub. Sometime I am scared to shower bc I'm scared the bathtub will fall. My aunt would really appreciate this if she was picked. She gives to everyone and nobody ever want to help her when she needs it. She also takes care of her grandkids bc there is time when their own mom will dump them on her to go party.

    Please help my sick aunt!

  14. hi everyone, so I have a huge huge favor to ask of everyone. my brother Dylan was in a really bad car wreck on March 7 2017. him his fiancee and her father were hit head on by a full size dodge 250 and by a dump truck.(they were in a Toyota Camry) his fiancee was killed on impact. When paramedics for there he was DOES and he flat lines again when they reached the hospital and once again on the operating table. Broke every bone in his body, internal bleeding and 3 brain bleeds. Was on life support for 14 days.. his liver went through his diaphragm. He has already under gone 12 surgerys and has many more ahead.he has brain damage and sometimes doesn't even remember who we are. The trauma surgeons at Grady Memorial Hospital did a procedure on him they only started doing 3 months ago and on only two other people my brother Dylan is the only surviver. He is a miracle. A 23 year old marine due to get married in September 16, 2017 (5 months and 9 days from the accident) he is a son and a brother to 8 and an uncle. He loves hunting and fishing and everything outdoors. Now All because of a 17 year old decided to cross the double yellow line, going between 80- 90 mph in 35 mph zone he will never do any of those things again. The 17 year old has killed the love of dylans life and trust me she was his queen. Dylan put her on a pedestal. my brother has no insurance and as of today his hospital bill is over 1 million dollars not including they 5 surgeons bill, radiology bill and many more we have yet to receive. As of yesterday they have moved him to a rehabilitation center and grady so kindly has agreed to pay for two weeks of rehab after that he comes home to us although he will need a lot more rehab we cannot afford it. It is about 2000 a day and they want the money up front. Our house is handicap-accessible already it was built in the 1920s it is 100 years old and has had no reminding done to it. With us living in Hapeville (atlanta) we do have so critters and bugs. About two years ago our nebighors house cought fire and spred to ours causing our grauge to catch fire the insurance company would not fix it because it was "an act of god" the roof is routed and caving in. My mom a single mother of five ages 23 22 21 10 and 8 would do anything for us and she has/is doing an amazing job. Life has thrown some curve balls at her and she is standing strong. Her and I a mother of two ages 2 and 1 have been at the hospital for 35 days straight and now trying to figure out how we are going to pay for the rehab he needs and the home improvement that needs to be done in the short amount of time we have. the donations have stopped. I can only pray to good and leave it in his hands to make everything right. I want to say thank you to those who have took the time to read this and to this of you who have donated. Please share my story to everyone my brother needs your help. He wasn't afraid to risk his life so that yours was safe. I think it's time to return the favor and show that he's not alone. Thank you

  16. Hello my story is about my friend/niece her name is hayleigh Brazwell and her mom stormi smith.hayleigh is 16 and born w Cystic fibrosis. Stormi has raised hayleigh, two sisters as well as three children she took in to her home to keep them from going into family and children Services and did this as a single parent. The oldest child is in college now and two graduating high school in May this year. Stormi works 60/80 hrs a week as a waitress at a local restaurant to support her family. With Halley having c.f. she is in and out of hospital at 14 days at least every stay which is extremely hard for stormi to stretch time and energy having to work as well as take care of hayleigh five others and be at hospital. Their home is a three bdrm old home that is extremely unhealthy for hayleigh to live safely due to age of home and condition its in, with six children their belongings etc things pretty stuffie, dusty hayleigh can't get hot or breath pollen as well as germs their not able to open windows to allow fresh flowing air in of course makes air stail and hard to breath as well. Storm is doing all and some for her family, myself as well as any and all that needs help. This past year hayleigh was hospitalized 6 or more times 14day stays one of which she was placed on life support for the first time to help her breath to keep her body from shutting down on its own having to work extremely hard to get air. In March Stormi lost her mom who was not only her support emotionally but hayleigh's best friend. Christy and myself took hayleigh to atl the day she was put on life support Stormi was out of state trying to say goodbye to her brother that past of cancer we had to contact her e the awful news that hayleigh was being admitted and placed on life support. Stormi also has had a stroke prior all this which shut down one side of her but with her being only one working and six kids she stayed focused and gained movement back on that side of her body. But back to 2016 she lost her mom ,brother, and almost lost hayleigh, had a daughter go off to college, had to still work, take care of the kids at home,as well as having to go be w hayleigh at egleston hospital which is hour and 20min from home. With this said she isn't emotionally, finacially, nor does she have time to spare to find another place to live. Hayleigh gets better while in the hospital but when she comes home she imidiatly starts going down causing her to be placed back in hospital with in a month or two at most I don't like to say it's her home that is causing the relapse I'm hayleigh's health but it has got to be. Hayleigh could be placed on lung transplant list but with her health not being up to par as Drs say they gotta be for transplant she not able be on transplant list. To have transplant hayleigh and her family would have to move to Texas for at least a year after transplant leaving behind her family and friends who wants to do that not knowing if you live to see them again. When grandma died hayleigh had told us she wasn't scared to die anymore because grandma would be there waiting for her. My daughter and hayleigh are extremely close I was reading the messages to each other hayleigh said that she just wanted to go to sleep and never wake up because she was tired and her body was tired that's not something a 16 should have to say, she also had stop taking her meds about two years ago hiding them but Stormi happen to find them hid in closet asked her why she wasn't taking them that she has to have her meds to live hayleigh replied with I don't won't be sick anymore I won't be normal like everyone else. She only goes to School Half a day and doesn't spend night off w friends or get to enjoy things most kids get to do due to meds breathing treatments and feeding line she has so her life is inside her home which is causing her to feel worse and keeping her health down. We are asking extreme makeover to help hayleigh and Stormi to be able to enjoy their time together in a place that isn't bad for both of their health Stormi is a great mother that is extremely strong but pulled between life and he'll you never know what time we have but knowing for sure your child may not be here tomorrow and you can't spend anytime with her having be pulled in every direction work 60/80 hrs to support family, pay bills she only gets short time w not just hayleigh but any of her kids if you and your cast can help them in anyway to help get them a healthy environment so that maybe hayleigh will not be in hospital as much and not being stuffed in her home because of time and financial situations it would be greatly appreciated and God sent blessing to this family if Stormi had the time, money, energy that she shares with everyone Lord knows I wouldn't be sending you this message. With six kids going to school, concealing, drs, after School activities, church, taking care of her family and friends and being the best aunt ever etc I believe Stormi is the best strongest person besides hayleigh i know and there would be nothing better than to see them get a blessing for all the blessings theyve been to others and we thought we would ask yall if you could help us give them this blessing. Thanks for your time and effort to read this comment. Hope you find this to be one of the many people that would be greatly needed and appreciated thanks

  18. Hello I am applying to receive help for my cousin Wendy Paulson. Wendy lost her husband(my cousin) just over a year ago leaving her a widow and their children without a father. She has a 25 year old son who depends on her for everything as he battles addiction and mental health issues and a set of twin girls that just completed high school last year. Wendy suffers from fibromyalgia, anxiety, and depression that prevents her from being able to work, she does receive SSD but it is not enough to cover the monthly expenses let alone complete any repairs on their home. This past year has been one of the roughest years for her and her children, they have had to learn to live without their father, husband, care giver, and supporter. My wish is to give them a fresh start on life and a safe and happy home. I try my best to help when I can with minor repairs but it is overwhelming with the amount of work that is needed on their home. Everyday is a battle for them to overcome and Wendy tries her best to keep her kids happy but I can tell it is hard on her. Most days she cries all day long and late into the night not only for her loss but also for the loss her children are experiencing. Wendy is currently sleeping on a twin mattress on her living room floor so that her children can have their own room. She really needs a room of her own that could be a sanctuary for her to retreat to at the end of the day. She does so much for everyone else and volunteers for SWAN(Stuff We All Need) and a local food giveaway but never asks anyone for help. Please find it in your heart to help this amazing family to start over after a heart wrenching loss.

  19. My name is Cynthia Humphrey, I am a single mother of two minor children. Their names are Logan and Gage. I am 37yrs of age. I've always been dependent and worked to support myself and my boys. I had a good job and a nice home that was almost paid for. Until about 6yrs ago I became very ill. I was admitted into the hospital for about a year, where I was diagnosed with a rare blood disease and received plasma exchange daily. The doctors didn't expect me to live, everyday I heard over and over that my body was dying. During my stay in the hospital I lost my home and everything the kids and I owned. I fought everyday so I could live for my children. My health was deteriorating faster and faster, but I wouldn't give up. I was eventually released without a immune system, congestive heart failure and renal failure. I only weighed 53lbs when I left the hospital. My children and I moved in with my mother and a few months later she died with lung cancer. She left the boys and I her home, but it's very old and needs work. I do not have a bedroom, so I sleep in the living room on the couch. I am in end renal stage and currently receive dialysis three times a week to sustain life. As of right now I am not a good candidate for a kidney transplant. The home is small and for the five years I've been here I've received multiple blood infections. If the home were sterilized and in better shape and I had a bedroom I could do at home dialysis. I'm not the type to ask for help and I've always been very independent. We used to go on vacation every year and I was involved in any of my children's activities, but now I'm too sick. I'm constantly weak and unable to work. This is one time I need help , my kids deserve a nice home as much as we have been through. Please consider us for a home make over. We've been through so much. I've always helped anyone I could when I was able and now I can't even help myself or my boys. I don't know if anyone will ever read this, but hope is all we have and maybe our prayers will pay off and be answered through this site. Thank you for listening to our story and I hope to hear from you soon.
    Cynthia Humphrey-Santa Fe,TN

  21. My name is Shalita Calhoun and I have 4 kids I tried to adopt kids but I lost my home because my landlord stole we have been living in a hotel for 9, months now and I need help. I have been working all of my life and struggling. Please me and my family need a home. Please

  22. I am writing again asking for help for a friend and her son, Bonni and Justin Hipp, in need. This is her and Justin's Story:

In October of 1994 Justin Hipp was a normal four year old playing in his own back yard when tragedy hit. His dad was cleaning out a big wooden toy storage box that was filled with leaves and was getting it ready to store the yard toys for the winter. After he sprayed it with the hose he rested it on a Little Tikes table and let it drain. His little brother was wet from the water and his dad went inside to change his little brothers clothes. While his dad and brother were inside Justin climbed under the storage box and it came down on him. It was too heavy for him to push off. When he dad returned to the backyard all he saw was Justin legs sticking out of the box. He panicked and threw the box off of Justin and saw his lifeless body. He picked him up and ran across the street to the neighbors house screaming for help. The neighbor called 911 and tried to do CPR. The ambulance arrived and took him to the hospital where they gave him a shot of adrenalin to the heart and started him on life support. No one knows how long Justin was without oxygen. He wasn't supposed to live through the night, but he did. 3 weeks went by and the family was faced with a horrible decision. The choice was to keep him on life support forever or pull life support and let him pass. Since the family was told by 3 doctors that there was no brain activity the family made the choice to let him pass on. Funeral arrangement were made and the family gathered at Justins side to say goodbye. As his mom held his hand and life support was shut down…Justin took a deep breath on his own.

Unfortunately Justin suffers from a severe brain injury that has also left him with a seizure disorder. Its been a long road for the family to adjust to such tragedy. Justin has made many changes through the years. He can eat and drink by mouth, sit in a wheel chair, make sounds that are his way of communicating, smile at appropriate things and make eye contact. It might not sound like anything impressive but when you are told there is nothing and then you get something, there remains that sense of hope.

There are many things that are not covered under insurance that a disabled person needs. Over the years, Justin has been in and out of the hospital many times. Just recently, contracting pneumonia, which led to his Mom having to (once again) make the decision to put him on life support. As in true Justin fashion, he fought! After almost 3 weeks he was sent home, but not to have to soon return.
Bonni's home is in desperate need of major renovations! There is mold all over which hinders Justin's breathing. I have tried to contact numerous local agencies for assistance but to no avail. PLEASE consider helping this ver deserving single Mom. She has faced every obstacle with grace and dignity, but she desperately needs help!!! Thank you for your consideration.
    A friend,
    Francine

  25. Dear Ty Pennington, I would like to nominate my eighty three old parents. My Dad was a United States Army Vet whom he served in the Korean War. His wife of 62 years was on the "front line," raising eight kids, arranging from forty-six to sixty one years old. You think with that many children, there would be more than one bathroom. (NO) We improvised! My parents are so full of life, but it is the smaller (things) to us that is bringing them down. They walk to the bathroom, it isn't wide enough, the eight steps to get up into their house is like walking a marathon. They occasionally walk with canes very independent, and when they do, they move inch by inch just to get into the kitchen to get themselves something to eat. If something goes wrong with the hot water heater, my Dad usually goes down the fourteen steps to check on it. The bags of salt (extremely heavy) dumps in there which has become too much of a pain for him. When one of us are around, we will help him. Our concern he had open head surgery to release a blood clot. Both my Mom and Dad have had a lot of heath concerns. But, they are fighters, they love the little things of life. My Dad was recenty diagnosed with Parkinsons Disease and it has taken a toll on him. When he has had an episode, there is so much my MOM can't do as much for him, because she has had a hip replaced and back surgery. I know it bothers her tremendously because that is the love of her life! My parents are proud Grandparents of twenty grandchildren, twenty eight grandchildren, give or take a two. Love them all! In 2012 we lost our first brother Ruben at the age of 49, hit us all like a ton of bricks. Sometimes it takes a lifetime to recovery. Then in 2015 we lost another brother Roger at the age of 49. Too good guys lost way too soon. Roger wanted to help my parents get their place together because he knew a little bit about carpentry. Shingles, septic, roof, carpet, kitchen window so Mom can air out the kitchen. Install a second toilet (lord we need one), with Mom's condition. Even out the driveway so no cars hit each other trying to park or back out. Too many side windows busted!

  26. Hello, my name is angelica vidal. I am 19 years old,I know i am just one of millions of very deserving individuals but i thought it would be worth a try. I have 9 month old daughter and a husband, my husband suffers from epilepsy an has now been laid off from his job, we are currently living with my grandparents and my aunt, my grandmother has horrible panic attacks and everything comes down to my grandfather, it is very hard to take care of 5 other people plus yourself on just one income. It is getting very difficult to maintain our home, we are on the edge and i am begging for help, it would make my grandparents so incredibly happy, and would honestly save our lives. i pray to hear back from you all. Thankyou so much even just for listening.

  27. HI my name is Autumn and I am a mother of a 2 year old right now. I have a husband named Eric, we're going on 7 years. We live in a 1920s built home. It's very cozy and lovely, but there's so much work that needs to be done. I have tons of photos that I can upload to the site to vote or however this extreme makeover wants to do it. Thsee past couple years have been so hard. First, we unexpectedly got pregnant with our son nick, but he brings so much joy into our lives, it just sucks because our house isn't up to date on anything and we can't get insurance on our home. We could lose it at any moment of nature's chosing. I pray that it doesn't but I want to have a home for my son to really get to grow up in. We also have an acre of land surrounding it that also got inherited to my husband but it's all hill. There's barely any flat areas in our yard for our child to play in. I'd love to be able to enjoy my home again and feel at peace. We still have the old window's that came with the house, most of them are broken out but we have plexiglass up. They definitely still have led paint in them, we called a window company and its gonna cost 12,000 to replace our windows. We will never see that much money in a lifetime.
Second thing that happened was I lost my brother and sister within a month apart while I was pregnant, it was so hard to stay strong at times, but I pulled through for the sake of my baby. Also being able to get to share my family and I experiences would make one heck of a show. We also lost my dad 9 years ago. My dad and my brother both committed suicide, so it would be good for the public to hear about suicide awareness as well.
I inherited a business from my mom after she lost her children. She moved to Florida that following November, I had taken over a family business that had been around since 1999, but the way the economy is nowadays, I failed to succeed and decided to go out of business. I wasn't making any profit and I was spending so much time being creative with my digital artwork for my clients, to no get paid anything in return. January 2017, I shut it's doors in my life. I just recently started a cupcake business that might do well. I love to be able to work from home with my little monster, and baking makes everything better in my world. I'm hoping to start it off on Facebook and go from there. I absolutely love the TV show extreme home makeover. I loved watching it as I grew older. It was so sad to see it go, but now it's back 🙂 ♡ had to give it a try and submit this. I hope and pray I get a call back to be on the extreme makeover show. Thanks in advance guys, and thanks for reading my long comment.
    Best, Autumn

  28. My name is Genevieve and I am 12 years old. I am writing in for my grandmom Carmen. Her trailer is falling apart. We think it has a mold too. My dad tries to help his mom and he doesn't make a lot of money to help her and take care of me too. My grandmom is a really good person and cooks for everyone. She never complains but I see her crying a lot and it makes me very sad. I would like her to have a kitchen and a bedroom and a bathroom that are new and not falling apart. My dad is afraid they are going to take her trailer away and she won't have anywhere to live. I live in a small apartment with my Dad and we can't take her with us and she won't leave her trailer. Can someone please help her she is a really good grandmom and mom to my Dad.

  29. Hello makeover crew! My name is Katie, I am from West Virginia and I am 20 years old and currently in college majoring in nursing. But this story isn't about me, it's about my disabled mom. When I was 2 years old my mother was diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer. It soon spread to her liver, lungs, and brain. It reached her brain stem.. as you know there isn't much to do after that; but she fought and fought. They eventually lazered off the tumor and when she woke up, she wasn't able to use the left side of her body.. she isn't able to walk or use her left hand normally.. she constantly fell in our old home. So we thought to build a handy capt home, but we didn't know who we were dealing with. The man who built our home stole from us, making my mom pay her whole life savings for a regular modular home with no handy cap benefits, so now she can't take a shower on her own, she was to wait until I come home on the weekends. She has bruises and bumps all over her body because of all the falling she does, and there is nothing we can do about it. But when I heard your crew makes over houses I thought it would be the perfect prayer. So I am coming to your crew to help my family and mom out, she fought so much to live a good life but she can't enjoy it without falling.

  30. Hi ABC! I'm applying for Extreme Home Makeover as a surprise to my husband if we win. We have been together now for almost 13 years, 7 of which we have been married. We got married young, he was 20 and I was 19. For the first 4 years of our marriage we spent trying to serve our church in many different outreaches and hosting studies. In 2014 we bought our first home while I was pregnant with our first daughter Kora. He has been such a great father and husband to us, and last year we made the decision that it would be smarter to have me be a stay at home mom instead of trying to pay for daycare but because of that we live on a tight income and cannot afford to fix up our home. In the couple years being in our home renovations have been a dream, but not a reality. Since I'm the more handy of the two of us growing up doing construction with my step dad, the first year we were in our house I was pregnant and not able to do much, except pull out hundreds of black berry bush roots that were consuming our side yard. The second year I would try to go outside to work on the yard but my daughter was afraid of grass with a passion haha. The third year my husband's work sent us to California for the spring and summer time and we allowed friends to stay in our home since they being newly wed was not able to find a place and while we were gone, however because the wife had surgery and the husband was working they did not take the best care of our home. All our plants died in the summer heat and our carpets got really dirty because of their dog. And this year I am pregnant with our second daughter Olivia and we have been helping out another family while they have been in-between jobs so they have been staying with us for 2 months now. I want to win the makeover for my husband because he is such a great guy and he deserves a relaxing place to come home to. He has never been to handy but he tries hard to improve our home for us and tries to put us before his own wants. We are planning to homeschool our children since my husbands work often sends us places, but while we are home I would love a place that would help them learn, play and grow!

  31. Hello, I writing you because my heart truly goes out to a dear friend of mine.. I know everyone has hard times, but my friend can't catch a break. Her husband has past away and she had been trying to cope with that but has not been given an opportunity to grieve for the love of her l life.. She has taken on the responsibility to raise her two grandchildren. The reason she is raising her grandkids is because her son which is their father had been incarcerated and the mother of her grand daughter has past away and the mother her grandson isn't involved in his life much.. she is getting ready to lose her house because she can't afford it since her husband past away because she doesn't make enough money.. she had tried to work something out with mortgage company and they won't talk to her, so she is scared won't be able to keep a roof over her grandchild's head.. The horse also needs work done to it.. One bathroom has limited running water…It is super sad.. if there is anyway you can help it works be great.

    Thank you in advance!!

  35. My mother who is currently 87 years old battling dementia and ailing was a very strong and determined woman in her younger day. She was someone that I honestly believed individuals respected her highly and loved her dearly. I remember my mother telling me when I was able to comprehend that she planned the year of her graduation from High School to pack her suitcase and move to New York. I asked her why and her response was “If I stayed in Statesville, NC I only had two choices of an occupation and I was not going to do either.”

Literally, the day of her graduation from High School; my mother bought a one way Greyhound bus ticket to New York and began her career. During those years it wasn't easy but she said she was determined to make a life for herself. She was able to finally land a career working for the Social Security Administration Department all of her life and she enjoyed it. My mother was literally a hard worker all of her life. Again, everyone who met my mother loved and adored her. Everyone loves Alice!

Her desire was to financially save, move back to North Carolina, purchase a home and enjoy the rest of her life with her family. My mother happened to be one of the fortunate ones who was able to retire as an employee of the Government with the age and not the years. She retired at the age of 55. She purchased a home in Charlotte, NC and was ready to enjoy her life.

Unfortunately, upon returning to North Carolina; life took a whirlwind and my mother found herself taking care of my grandmother who had Alzheimer. My mother moved my grandmother in with her. It was definitely a struggle and challenge for my mother even though she had siblings who should have shared in taking care of my grandmother. My grandmother passed away and my mother now found herself ready to enjoy life.

At this moment, my mother found herself not doing too well. Currently, my mother has been diagnosed with the dementia. My husband and I moved out of our home and moved in with my mother. It has been definitely been more of a struggle for me because it hurts to see the woman that I depended on all of my life;; needs me and I am literally lost, scared, confused and petrified. I truly admire my husband because he is the one who literally attends to my mother’s needs. He has no idea of my emotions but I know without him I would be truly lost. I love this man!

Since moving in with my mother I am finding out that her finances are horrific. Her Credit Card, Mortgage, Utilities Debt and even Home Improvement is atrocious. We are drowning in debt so Home Improvement can’t be completed. My husband is disabled so he stays home and attends to my mother. 

I am asking for advice and/or help on how I get all three of us out of this debt? I am definitely a hard worker but I am needing something that will allow me to get first my mother out of this debt she is in which she has no knowledge she is in.

I am a open book at this point to you and your Staff, whatever it is you need to know in order for me to receive advice and/or help from you. I will do it.

  36. My name is Micki. Im 23 years old.My grandmother has been living in her house since 1930. She's 80 years old. The house is falling apart and she has no where else to go. If it falls apart I'm scared that she will be in that house. We have no where else to go. It would really mean the world to use if someone could help us.
    Thanks,
    Micki

  37. Helll my name is Nora Hall… I really don't even know where to start I have three kids ages 12 11 and 9 all boys we are living in a 2 bed room trailer which needs alot of work. On March 1 2017 the roof blow off our trailer do to the storms we didn't have the money to fix it so a few of our close friends took their own money and paid to have a roof put on our trailer. Now the inside needs alot of repairs from the water damage but we dont have the money to fix it…. I work 4 days a week doing community service for Ktap which is just 383 a month which doesn't even cover the bill's. I have tried to help everyone I can and would love to have some one please help me fix my home for my kids. Did I say that my boys are all sharing one room.

  38. Hi there, my name is Denise and I am writing this not for myself, but for my in-laws. I would love to have a makeover on my home because believe me it needs it. I know there are so many people so much worse off. This story is for my mother and father in-law. It all starts with them well basically always having a tough time. They had a baby who passed away in bed with them at 11 months old. Then my husband's other sister died in a car accident when she was 25 leaving her 2 children who were 2 and 5 years of age. My father in-law had been a special education teacher his whole life, and they are so loving and giving. They unselfishly took on raising the kids. My husband Eric was the only child left, and he almost died in a car accident at the age of 16. It was really bad, but he survived thank God. When my father in-law had to retire money was short, but they made it. My husband married a women named Norma who ended up having an affair and leaving him, but not before losing family land and a home because she didn't pay the house payments. She put him $267,000 dollars in debt as well. When my husband lost all that property that was going to be his inheritance my in-laws George and Zelma lost their whole retirement that was invested in that property. Over the years the home they love has declined, and is in total disrepair. They are struggling very hard. George almost died about 5 months ago when he fell and got a hematoma in his brain. They found that he has a tumor on his pituitary gland. I love them so much. All they have ever done is give, give, give, and get nothing back. It breaks my heart to see. I would love to see them in a home they deserve to have in their later years. If you met them you would fall in love with them like I did. Thank you so much for listening. God bless all who need help.

  39. I'm doing this for my best friend. She's a mother of 6 kids. She is about to go into her 30's. She does the best job that she can in raising her kids. As everyone knows, every child is different and needs room to grow. She has a one bedroom home that now looks like just a place to sleep. Her plumbing is in the worst condition ever. She really can't run water in her home because of the many busted pipes underneath the home. My fiance and I was going to be homeless after my surgery. I didn't want to ask her to take us in, however, I gain the courage to ask and she took us in. She works so hard to keep food on the table, clothes on their back and makes sure they get as education. She goes out her way to please people that it's time for her to shine.

  40. Hello my name is paula. My fiance just bought a house in august of 2016. Since weve moved in in has been left amd right fix this fix that. We had a droo ceiling fall right down and destroy almost everything in our living room. My fiance works so hard to keep up with all the bills and support our family. We have three kids ages 13 and 11. My thirteen year old son has adhd and requires so much counceling and many dr appointments. Because so much of my attention is on him it makes it very hard for me to work a full time job. With the repairs we have to make in the house and my low income it gets very stressful for my fiance. Im not asking for a fancy house. Just one that needs no repairs done and safer for my family. Please help my family with these daily struggles. Im very nervouse cause after my fiance works a full nine hour day than have to come home amd repair things in the home shes very tired and is fighting thyroid disease. She has had graves disease but is in remission. Please help us extreme makeover. Thank you and god bless you for what you all do to help otherz in need.

  41. I'm writing in behalf of my freinds. The Hasenkamf family. He is a Captain with the Baton Rouge Fire Department and does painting part time for supplemental money, she works at a nursery part time. They together bought their dream home, a small two story house in the country in Port Vincent, Louisiana,. The house and property were beautiful. The home was built in 1836, in the front yard is a White Oak tree said to be over 500 years old. They have kept it all original. The yard was landscaped around a small pond in the backyard.
Then on August 12th 2017 everything changed. The rains came. The Amite River broke it's banks and backwater soon flooded almost all of South Louisiana. Their home's entire first floor was submerged by flood waters. It was two weeks before the water had subsided enough for them to return, by then the mold had already set in. They began removal of the damage wood immediately. They are currently back living in the upstairs portion of the house while trying to make repairs to the first floor, but have exhausted all of their resources. Tim, the husband has made a temporary stove top out of plywood and saw horses with the range set in so Missy can cook for the family. They are now at a stop, there is no more money, the house is just a wreck.
This home used to be a stop for people to take pictures. Brides would use the tree as a back drop for portraits. But not anymore. So please for a hard working public servant and his family, please consider their home for your show. I have pictures availble

  42. My neighborhood pool area and club house were all built by donations long long ago. Lots of 70+ residents and now more families moving in. We are in Crystal Springs by the Grand Cascade Lodge Hamburg, NJ we really need an update and lots of us would be willing to work with the team to get it done. I was at an Extreme Makeover in upstate NY and had the best time donating my time to help another family would appreciate if we could be next. Love the show and the positive energy it sends. We could really use that positive energy and renewed pool area. Please consider The Cedars at Crystal Springs. Thanks so much. Maurene

  43. We were a normal family of 4. Hard working mom and dad raising a son and a daughter. Giving back to our community by helping to raise funds for those in need and fostering 8 children with special needs. We never asked for help or hand outs. Then our family suffered a life changing event and without the help of others we don't know what we would have done. It's not a good feeling asking for help. We have learned that it's not a hand out but a hand up so that we can pick up the pieces and continue to give back as we can. Contributing to fund raising events for families in need is just something that we always did hoping to help in some way until the fundraiser we worked was for us. This was surreal. Our son was a senior at Seminole ridge high school and played in the band. Great kid with a huge heart with plans on leaving for college. Our daughter was 13 with such a passion for life. She had it all figured out at 13. She decided she was going to rehab a stallion horse (which she did right before the incident) and become a world renowned horse trainer. She was just inducted into the National Junior Honor Society through Western Pines Middle School. She is an animal lover who volunteered at community horse shows. She was an artist and writer from a very young age. She loved reading! Everything she learned was from reading. Her plans were to go to horse training college in Ireland when she grew up. On Thursday Dec 4th, 2014 we all went to a local vendor to buy a Christmas tree. It was an annual family event to pick out a fresh tree together. The kids NEVER agreed but always compromised to reach a verdict on the perfect family tree. We brought it home and planned on decorating it together that Saturday. Our daughter had plans to see a friend at dinner time the next evening, Friday Dec 5, 2014. When I arrived home from work my husband said our daughter was lying down. She had a horrible headache. I took one look at her and knew something was horribly wrong. She had sweat everywhere and was unresponsive then vomiting and started seizing as I called 911. Our local Firefighters and EMT's were our angels (and continue to be)!!! They immediately knew she suffered something with her brain. She had suffered a ruptured AVM which was a massive bleed on her brain (from a malformation we never knew existed) from birth. One minute she was a healthy, happy 13 year old and the next clinging to life. Long story short, she had brain surgery to remove the AVM and the left portion of her brain that had died from the blood. During surgery she suffered 2 strokes on the right side. Her prognosis was not good. Her brain continued to swell and she spent 2 months in the hospital. We struggled to decorate the tree on Christmas Eve without her. On Christmas day she opened her eyes. Her road would not be easy. Her skull remained off until the swelling went down (1 year and another surgery to put it back on). The swelling caused additional brain damage and we were told she would be vegetative. We brought her home to give her the best we could. Today, 2 ½ years later she is not vegetative and is now 15 years old. However she is 24/7 medically fragile total care and requires round the clock nursing. She is responding to us and occasionally eating by mouth and is moving her left hand but suffers terrible daily seizures and we are desperate to help her be as mobile as possible. We bought a house to accommodate her and her medical equipment but the house while it has a living room to accommodate her hospital bed (we couldn't afford or take care of a bigger house) we could use help to make some very necessary adjustments. She needs doorways bigger to move room to room easier and we need to renovate the bathroom so she can roll into a shower. At the time of this incident we were renting a house with a pool. She began aqua therapy (3 times) before we moved into our new home which has no pool. In those 3 sessions of being in the pool she actually for the first time simulating walking with her legs in the water. Since moving (almost a year) we have not been able to get her in a pool. It has been our goal to figure out a way to get her a pool with a hot tub at our new home so that we can get her a mobile as possible and relax her muscles. She cannot go to any local aqua therapy pools since she is incontinent they will not allow her in their pools. Additionally this event has left a huge financial impact on our family so we haven't been able to figure out a way to achieve these improvements. Our community has been so wonderful in helping us. The band instructor waived our band fees for our son the rest of his senior year and I have continued to help with concessions as I can to help replace those funds for the next family in need. This band program is unlike any other. I know they can use some help too so I would like to find a way to get them what they need to keep this program helping kids and the community! Our daughter's nurses have helped beyond providing her great care. They care about her not just care for her. I would like to find a way to give back to them. They are round the clock nurses that help us with all of our daughter’s daily needs while we work to help pay our bills. Our son is going to local community college but has been devastated by this event. We hope to be able to make over our home so that we can have a place that our daughter can access fully with equipment that will help her achieve as much as she can and a space for all of us to enjoy. We have tried to remain strong and united as a family but this stress has definitely taken a toll on all of us. We are so very blessed to have her with us and could use some help to provide a better environment for her condition not just for her health but all of ours. It's overwhelming to think of all the adjustments that are needed and how to make them happen. Everything has to be kept so sanitary since any cold or illness could be life threatening for her. We are willing to help with any renovations and also help others with renovations. We have been so blessed already that we feel guilty seeking this help. She is proof that miracles happen every day and while we are grateful for every single one. We live for the miracles each day and pray for others to have their miracles!
God Bless you all for all you do to help others!

  44. I nominate Darrel Roth of Independence Missouri. Born and raised a Christian, he devoted his life to helping others and as an adult, he mentored and guided many youths in troubled times and lent his ear out to hear their problems, always giving the best advice he knew. As a Deacon of his church, he went the extra mile to also make sure the grounds where kept up, the maintenence work was done, and all was kept in check as needed at his church. At home, he took any many lost young souls with no parents around d to help them and fed and sheltered them and gave them transportation without question or ever asking for gas money or anything else in return. Now, he is the one in need of a miracle. He had a stroke a few years ago and can no longer do the things he used to be able to do. His knees are need of surgery that he can't get done and still managed to keep his house functional. His ceiling in his kitchen is about to come down do to leaks from the roof, he can't get up and down the stairs to the basement for his laundry, his chimney collapsed in the attic. His floor in his bathroom is falling through and he can't get In and out of his tub as needed. He has asbestos and lead paint through out and his plumbing is way out dated giving him problems. His car we wrecked and out of commission leaving him limited to leaving his house to get things updated. But he is a trooper and still keeps pushing forward each day with full faith that the Lord will provide him with the answers.

  45. Hi my name's Angel Gipson I am not afraid to share my information nor do
I have no desire to ask for a handout. But I am writing on behalf for my parents. (Tim Clements & Carla Durbin)
They have 4 children me i am 28 & married the one writing the story. My brother Zach the one that lives with them he is 26.
    Tabatha is 24 she's married.
    Harley is 20 & he's married.
The grand children they have are
    Isiah 8
    Tessalyn 5
    Alivia 5
    Jersey 15mths
One in the oven(my sister's baby)!
They live on a based month to month income & that's all that they get to make ends meat. My mother is considered disabled because she's such a slow learner & doesn't comprehend things that are said or understand much. My father has had multiple surgeries & has a pacemaker with a defibrillator because his hearts not in great condition.
His health is fair condition but honestly it's slowly fading.
My parents have been helping a young lady who is a single mother of 4 babies she just had a newborn & they have opened their door to anyone that's just how my father is!
I hate to face this but its life & they are getting older so I must. Here they was paying off their trailer that caught fire just on March 26 2017 in small town Dawson Springs Ky, while not at home & at a friend's the young lady they had been helping with the children. They had absolutely no kinds of insurances at all so they lost Everything including our FAMILY DOG SIMBA who was loved so much & he was my dads best friend & he was almost 6 years old. Now this isn't the first house fire they've had to experience it struck once before on July 23 2011. They had no insurance because they was just renters & once again total loss. We started completely over!
I can't say that's the only tragedy because my family just hasn't had a break in January 16 2016 my brother's love of his life was killed in a serious car accident & it hasn't been easy for him. He moved away from home a few months after it happened to try & move on but it was just not what he could live with & so he decided to come back to mom & dads last year around December & he's been there since. He helps out when he can but he has his bills too.
My parents car that they drive is what my husband & I gave them pretty much the only thing that they pay is the small lean that's owed on it by us but other than that my husband And I help my parents more than we help ourselves we struggle too but I can't see my parents struggle the way that they do. It hurts my heart so much to know now that they HAVE NOTHING ABSOULTELY NOTHING TO LIVE IN!! THEY LOST EVERYTHING AGAIN FOR THE SECOND TIME & THERE'S NOTHING THAT CAN BE DONE THEY HAVE NO MONEY OR NO HELP!! PLEASEE HELP MY FAMILY THEY REALLY NEED A BLESSING MIRACLE! I JUST WANNA SAY THIS IT DOESN'T HAVE TO BE A BRAND SPANKING NEW PLACE IT CAN BE JUST ANOTHER HOME BUT THEY NEED SOMEWHERE TO LIVE & CALL HOME AGAIN!

  47. Hi my name is Skylar Ray Stratton and man do I have a heart grabber. I'm 19 years old now but when I turned 14 my grandma, dad and step mom all planned to get a house. Do to the fact of having a big family and not enough room. My grandma pay 75k for this place to get to where it is now. When I was 16 we stopped building because I left. I was tired of being abused verbally physically and mentally. When I was away I took the knowledge I learned and carried it to new level. I became an arborist, landscaper, general contractor and more, but being 19 it's hard to find work with customers who will trust in my ability and my skills. Due to all the work I managed to Not Pass High School with one and a half credits behind. Enough about me back to what was going on at the house. My dad went to jail with 5 accounts of child abuse. My step mom never wanted to see me unless I have money. I went in a big Circle because now I'm back at the house just my girlfriend, my grandma and I. When I moved back in I found out half the stuff I did was destroyed. My grandma has a big heart. Here in Washington many homeless people were dying due to the cold weather, most were getting frostbite on their fingers and losing fingers I've seen it myself. My grandma let some people to rent a room. They never paid rent and destroyed stuffed in the process of being here. They took credit cards from my grandma stole money least her other house without her knowing and took the money. She is now fixing the taxes and trying so hard to keep her houses and she will succeed with my help. The house being destroyed it's hard to live in. Does electrical problems the furnace is broken downstairs there is a bathroom so it needs a sump pump to pump it up into the main sewage line and that's broken some of the plumbing is broken and the whole downstairs basement is unfinished. I'm scared each night that I will wake up to the house on fire or worse. There are major electrical problems, and I can't do it by my self. Please help and thank for all the help you have done to clean this cruel world.

  48. 50. The past year has been very difficult. My sister, who was a mother of 3 children, passed away suddenly. The older two children's father also passed so they no longer have parents. The youngest, she's 2 1/2, has AML leukemia and the doctors said they can't do anything more for her and have given us about 3 months. We have many people praying for a miracle but I know that it's in God's hands now. I have a beautiful 12 year old daughter of my own who adores her cousins. For now my parents have guardianship of my nephew, 5, and niece, 6. The thing is, they aren't young so it's up to me to raise these amazing children. I love them with all my heart and would never let anything happen to them, but my house is a tiny 2 bedroom. Thankfully, my father owns the property we live on and it's a decent size lot so we have the room to grow, but don't have the money. Also, the house is old and needs lots of updates. I want the absolute best for my sister's children and I hope you can help us create a new home so we can start rebuilding their young lives.

  51. hi my name is khadijah.. I have 7 children.. I have three that live with me now… I am a single poor mom… I live here in sc in my grandmothers house.. I cant afford a home for my children. I am currently out of work. I am going for my disability due to current illness… I live in a 2 bedroom houde.. it roach infested cant even sllep in peace… The pipes are all messed up… The electric wiring could cause a fire one day, the floors are very week… the bathroom floor could cave in att any given moment.. the toilet is going through the wall and floor.. This house is very old.. My children and I watch the show on occasions..We always hope and pray that our dreams will come true one day… We will have a home like other people and live a normal life instead of being ashamed to have company due to the conditions of this house…. Bugs are so bad my kids have to shake their bookbags out before school… Ipray that this will be our dream and blessing that God keeps promising me,

  52. No one knows the difficulties of moving like my family, we've moved every year for well over a decade! We had a house fire in 2007 and lost all our possessions and since had two children ages 8 1/2 and two years old who are blessings and are very different from each other. We did have our own house in 2012 but I was wrongfully forced to the streets and over the years we've never been able to live in one place for long because my husband is the only one with a job plus I've stayed home since I was 18 to take care of children and my late great-grandmother. We were supposed to have a suitable basement to live in but after I got pregnant with my first a fire sent us moving year after year as we couldn't afford the repairs and keep the post-fire (black) mold problem at bay. I spent my entire second pregnancy living in the mold stricken basement and became ill and reluctantly spent two weeks in the hospital. I've been sharing a bedroom with my children but I have no where to go from here to give my kids the space and safety they need. We live in Wisconsin, I could have to go back to Mexico to live in a place of our own, the only reason I came back to America after we went to Mexico when we lost our house was because of court dates. Now its been three years here and I've reached the end the limb…. This spells disaster for my family because my husband can't be around my [maternal] family who were giving us a room last year (I wasn't raised knowing my fathers side), my son wants to stay close to his paternal grandparents and I need privacy for me and my daughter.
My husband held the same job for 14+ years and recently got a better paying job. We wanted to buy the house next to my parent-in-laws so none of us would separate but the neighbor decided that he just put too much money into his latest house renovations and now would loose too much selling. We have the best neighbors and the whole group of us would benefit greatly with a bit of help! I have no where to go and don't want to leave the country for a house, please consider us for an Extreme Home Makeover!

  53. My friend is being evicted from her home of 5 years, they have only 30 days to be out. Her family has been through a lot this past year of 2016. Her 9 year old daughter was diagnosed with a rare brain tumor and has been undergoing chemo and radiation for the entire year of 2016. She has been unable to work, the daily care of her child is overwhelming and nearly every day she has doctor appointments to go to. For more information on my friend, email me. I want you to chose them for an Extreme Home Make Over.

  54. My wife has had a heart transplant, bone marrow transplant and will need a kidney transplant, she's on dialysis 3x per week. We are homeowners with a mortgage. House is old built in the early 50's. My wife would be more than ok to have our old home made over. Thanks.

  55. My mom is the beat person I know. She will go above and beyond for any single person she knows. She has lived a rough but great life and still continues to make others happy. She had two sons who passed away one was 5 and the other wasn't even an hour old. Before they passed she had my brother and then after they passed decided to adopt me. She couldn't have anymore kids and wanted another so she gave me life when my biological parents couldn't. She has done her best to give me and my brother the best life we could live and still to this day is always trying to make sure we are OK. She is the secretary at a local church and has been for over 30 years. She loves her job and the people she works with and for. She has had some issues with her home you know things needed to be replaced and fixed. Most of it can be handled by my brother or my boyfriend as my dad isn't in the best of health. He had to quit his job because he has bad discs in his back and possibly needs surgery, so my mom has been the only one working out of the two. I feel she is so deserving of getting her house completely remodeled. She is seriously the nicest and best person I know. Please think about this and get back to me I would love to surprise her with this as she is so very deserving and wouldn't accept it any other way. Thank you so very much for reading my moms story.

P.S we are located in Baltimore Maryland. Thanks again!

    Abbey.

  56. Good day,
I am posting this for my retired parents. They live in a small bungalow in Ottawa, Ontario Canada, that is full of mold. My sister, her husband and two babies under the age of two all live with them and it is making them sick. My mom was a stay at home mom, caring for my grandmother, then my aunt who suffers from Parkinson's, depression and is now in a wheelchair in a nursing home. My dad is recently retired from the construction field, in cement work, in is now on a waiting list for hip surgery as his body has had enough of the rough work he's done for decades. The roof is falling apart, there is an old in-ground pool that hasn't worked in decades just sitting there in the backyard and my parents don't have the money or physical means to repair anything. I have advised them to sell the house as is, full disclosure, take a loss and move on, but they can't afford to. At the same time their health is suffering. Your help is much appreciated as they are stuck in a rock and a hard place. Merci.

  57. My name is Kris, my dad is retired Air Force and has work hard for many years to give us the best he could, I want to repay him for that sacrifice. I want to win a remodel for his wood working shop, the one he has now is very small and its tough for him. He has all of the tools he needs for his wood working, his shop is just too small. Please help me repay his 25 years in the Air Force.

  61. my name is tish. , I'm 17 years old. i don't live with my grandmother but I'm moving in with her this summer to finish my last year here where i live. my grandmother is 58 years old currently. she'll be 59 in may. all my life I've watched my grandmother struggle with her bills all by herself. her overgrown son stays with her but he doesn't contribute. Her house is falling apart: her kitchen is caving in, her bathroom is a mess, everything is just falling apart. i have a job and I'm trying to get a second one to help her fix her house up but we can't do this alone and i need your help.

  64. My fiancé sister was killed in a horrible motorcycle accident on 2/19/17 leaving behind two beautiful children Jason 12 and Alissa, 6. Their father has really stepped up to the plate and become even a better Dad than he was before. His girlfriend Heather without blinking, became a full time mother of his two children with all her heart. One problem Doug (their Dad) and Heather along with her 17 year old daughter have now become a full time family of 5. The house is a decent house but its being worked on and still has a ways to go. Doug and Heather gave up their room so that the kids can all have their own room and now they sleep on a air mattress on the living room floor. We will do our best to help in anyway we can but, we are having living arrangement issues and may have no home in two months , that on the other hand is nobody's issue but mine. Anyway my fiancé and I are looking into the cost of fixing up the kids rooms on our dime but my issue is them on the floor. We have tried to think of where we could make a bed room for them , that's were I really think not only would we be way over our heads but drowning. This is a amazing family that has lost so much and sacrificed so much. I know that a new home wont bring Angela back but maybe a cool dirt bike room for Jason or princess room for Alli or maybe, if you just help put a bed room on for Doug and Heather that would be amazing and we would be so grateful. I, as someone who picked up another job to help here and there (shhhh that's a secret its at a waterpark and I get discount tickets so I got a job so I can bring all the kids ) would appreciate with all my soul anything you could do to help out this family who have lost and given so much.

  65. My dad is on oxygen for his congestive heart failure that we found out about your years ago he also has dibeties that we found out at the same time. My mom lost her job of 20 years after being sick for a long time she has had a head ache going on 24/7 that the doctors can not figure out after almost three years she found out she has fibromyalgia cronic migraines and has all the disc in her back buldging from her neck down. We live in a house that is two story that needs alot of work they are buying it on contract and it takes most of my dad's sis to pay for it. My parents can not go up stairs because the steps are just not possible for them and my brother and me still at home. I am a freshman in college and my brother is mild retardation. My mom has been trying to get her social security since she found out she can not work ever again. I just want my mom and dad to have a safe house they don't have to worry about when they get older that they can get in. Both my parents are on cains and my dad is afraid at sometime they will have to cut his feet off because of poor circulation.

I take care of my 90 year old blind elderly dad that lives with me so he doesn't have to go to the Nursing Home. He uses a wheelchair because on his 87 birthday he fell and broke his hip. We live in a single wide mobile home the floor is not the best in it. But I thank God for what we have.

  69. Good morning,
First and foremost thank you for what you do! Because of people like you, prayers and hope for people like me become reality. Answered prayers. Miracles. Let me begin by telling you a little about myself. A little over 3 years ago addiction about took everything away from me. My husband was walking away before I realized what I was giving up. I decided from that day forward I would live for God. Whatever it took I was going to be the woman I was created to be. I began with full focus on my being a mother and wife. By the grace of God I was ready to take on the next step. I would never be ashamed of my story, in fact I would share my testimony and live for Jesus Christ every single day. I was a waitress and had been for many years. I loved it and the variety off people I was meeting. A social butterfly, you either LOVED me or did not like me at all. I encountered a woman one evening that stood out from everyone else. She didn't get personal, not did she act as if I were trash. I felt more of a challenge. She didn't give her heart easily. Or her name for that matter. I was intrigued by the new challenge set before me, and even whispered, "challenge accepted, LORD." – now 3 years later I have one of the greatest souls in my life! She is loving, generous, uplifting, wise, caring, hard working, and if Im having a bad day she is the first to send a card or quick text of encouragement. Her husband recently had surgery of his aorta. It was over 99% blockage, and took what was supposed to be less than 2 hours – four hours to perform. The surgeon named this particular surgery his hardest ever. Here we are five days later, he's been discharged and sent home. Most would sing hallelujah and praise. Home for them is a 98 year old home. His mother's original house. Her has buried his mom, as well as a son. The emotional attachment is very real. The rat problem is also very real. Hearts were broken and one after another a pile became a mountain. Not knowing where to begin, and too ashamed to ask for help. Let alone allow anyone over. I pray that you please consider, as I know each story must tug at your heart. I love these two people, and to see their world lighten up on the burdens would fill me and so many others with joy! He's a survivor from a long line of tragedies. His hope is falling apart, but I know all he needs is a little watering of the spirit inside of him. God bless you all, and may his grace fall upon each and every home and family you inspire.
    Thank you!

  70. I read so many comments with so many people that really need a home that i got kind of scare to leave a comment regards my situation. Well I live in Puerto Rico i believe that i can also get an opportunity to change my life and live happy at least at once, I used to live in Massachusetts where i struggled with my past domestic violence, sickness and at some point i tried to change my life around and I started to get some seminars to have foster kids at that point i was focus on that, because i never couldnt have a kid on my own but God gave the chance to help other kids and young children, enjoyed but at the point they grew up and i stayed by myself again moving back to Puerto Rico, where i being struggling with my health and financial situations, i had a open heart surgery, and my house is not in good condition its not safe to live a healthy life, but i dont have another choice i dont have nobody to help me, i really wish i can have the opportunity to see my dreams come through for once and have a place to adopted a child and give all my love to a child that really needs a mom. Thanks so much to give a lot of people their dreams and help them to live the right life and put a smile on their face. God bless you all

  71. Dear Extreme Hom Makeover,

We are in desperate need of finishing our 2200 sq. Ft. Basement & renovations on our existing home. My husband is a Police Sergeant & on the SWAT Team so his schedule is very hectic. I work at a local hospital & Orthopaedic clinic. I am home a lot with the boys by myself & trying to juggle so many schedules. We do a lot for people & enjoy taking care of our family. My parenys are older & we want to be able to support them by having them live with us soon. My Mom had cancer in her spine that was inoperable & my step dad had a heart attack & a stroke so neither are able to work. We have 2 young sons that need a place to play. Their rooms are very small on the main level & they are taking over. We have worked so hard to pay things off to make these changes to our home & better our lives to be in a situation to serve others. We want to be debt free & not have anything over our heads before proceeding futher. We have recently paid off both vehicles, & several credit cards. Talk about sacrife & determination! We are on our last one now but fear we will run out of time. I know there are so many people that need help & we have never asked anyone for it before so this is a big stretch for us. We are just two middle class people trying to better our lives so we have the ability to help others. I would love to explain more in detail, send pictures of our home, etc. Please, Please consider reaching out to us to obtain more information. God Bless!

  72. I am in need of a new home but not just for me but for me family . We have land with several run down trailers we live in but it's gotten real bad to live out there in the country where we want to be. My brother currently resides there in one section in a run down place. We are all disabled but he tries to fix it up. He has a thirteen year old whom the department of family services has now taken into custody because of the shape of trailer. My dad whom is 74 and can't do much for himself has a trailer out there also but it is not livable either and was forced into town in an low income apartment as was I when my trailer became unlivable and lost my daughter to family services if I did not move. Since this we have lost my mom and my dad won't go out to the trailer at all . The water leaks bad and it gets a high bill and finally my brother couldn't keep it up and it was over $1000 and the came and locked it. Now he is forced to run a water hose and pump from a tank into home for water. Which froze when cold out. We are currently still trying to get my nephew back home. I got my daughter back and now she is married with a baby of her own but has no place to live to call home they go from friend to friends house. My apartment is low income an in shambles they hardly fix things and we go months with out a landlord or msintence man to even reach for help. Now they are trying to throw me out because in these places you get roaches alot. My father can not see good enough to drive and my aunt down the street does not drive so I am the driver of out old van for all of them and my daughter too. My request to you is a family home where we can have like different wings or different areas where we can still have privacy just like separate home but yet all together . Please I am asking Ng for your help tye and friends. We never get a break it seams we always get in the whole. Can you help us. So all together it would be five branches of family under one unit of some kind. My aunt wants her own area. My daughter and her husband and baby need there own area. And my dad and I need an area and then my brother and his son need an area. This would be a big challenge would keep a family together. We are all on disability except my daughter and her husband does different jobs. My aunt is on a pension and my father has a small pension. But we all seam to need each other to keep our family going. I am asking if you would accept this challenge. I would entail several bathrooms several kitchens and a lot of bedrooms. Please can you help tye. Thank you for listening to me request. I hope this is considered.

And we have three sons one with two children and one who has visitation with his son . Tim has lung cancer and decieved a small SSI CK once a month . Eddie works full time and has to pay most of his CK out to child support. Son two babes and girlfriend sleep in a very small space on the floor in the living room add-on. Warm weather they sleep outside in a tent. The bathroom door needs replaced the door is uneven due to ground settling after all the years it's been sitting on ground no cement underneath it . All dirt ground . It's really not liveable but it's all we got . Tim dad bought it and passed it to us before he died. It's up the road from the cataract falls . Camp Otto road. Country road. 75. Hi there. I'm writing about a coworker. She's in her 60s, very hard working nurse. She's honestly our grandma or auntie at work! She was married, had a daughter. Her daughter got married and had two kids. Her daughter husband died and the daughter took a turn for the worst. When social services came in my coworker took her grandchildren in and her husband left her. Alone she's worked full time, put all her needs behind her for her grand children.. her health is now starting to fail, she's been off work for medical appointments unable to pay her bills… her house is full of mold, it's very unsafe for her and he grandchildren but she has no extras to put towards it. Please help her.. Everyone in our community loves her and would do anything to give a helping hand.
