  1. I like to first and most Thankyou for helping so many families. You guys are awesome.. I'am asking for help . Have a one bedroom trailer from the seventies with a add on . But it isn't big enough for the family. Have three sons one with wife and two children . One with one child . Very small with two bedrooms . One bedroom and living room is the add-on. The father has lung cancer and draws a small amount of ssi the one son works full time and most of his check goes to child support. The children wife and son sllepxlxlldldpelslxlxoldp on the floor in a very small space. When it's warm out they sleep in a tent. The foundation of the trailer is falling in its unleveled because of the ground settling. They really could use the help. Please .

  2. Hello my name is Jacob Harrison. My sister inherited a street from our grandparents, uncle and father. My sister's name is Adrienne Harrison and we have a close friend from school, Whitney Fansler, living with us because she doesn't have anywhere else to live. Our house has been left in disrepair because our family didn't have the money to fix them up and keep up to code. The houses were built in 1975. We have wanted our uncle and father to help repair some of the houses that we currently rent out. We couldn't get our finances situated with our uncle and father before they passed way, late last year. Our uncle passed away due to heart failure and stress, and our father passed away less than two months later due to severe cancer that we didn't have any warning about.. We were wondering if you would be able to seriously help us out because our house needs a full new roof, new walls, insulation, wiring, plumbing. All in all we need basically will need a new inside house.. We are mainly just focused on the current house we are living in. But, we do rent out houses on the street and they all need to be fixed up if at all possible; it's just the house we live on is first priority. If at all you could help us. Please let us know! We desperately need repairs, and we barely have the money to pay the bills with my full time job and my sister's part time job. We weren't left with a lot of financial support and the rent money goes straight to taxes which are taking everything we have.. We also don't know if the past mortgage is going to take away our home! So, please let us know if at any time you'd be able to help us and get this stress and financial burden fixed. Thank you! We really need your aid.

  3. My name is Zanele Msiza,I am 38 years old and was diagnosed with SLE.I was full time employed and taking care of my kids until this unfortunate incident occurred in my life.I am currently unemployed and staying at home full time. The sickness makes it hard for me to get employed again because it has affected my health and caused athritis as well.It would really be nice to stay in a clean, beautiful home where I can be able to relax and take care of my health. My husband tries to do the best he could for us but it is very difficult sometimes.I appreciate his support but I would really appreciate your help with my house.

  4. I'm asking for help for my father, whom as never stopped smilin in spite of everything we have been through. Nearly 10 years ago my mother left my father cleaning out our double-wide trailer taking almost everything he owned. We had a small blessing from God when a firework blew up in my father's face 7 years ago, causing him to lose part of this thumb but because of the percussion for the firework he developed a lump on his tongue, after a few visit's to the doctor, they diagnosed him with tongue cancer. They removed alost half of his tongue in his first surgery and had his second to remove his lymph nodes on the right side of his next, when biopsy came back clear our family got to breath for just a moment until he got hit with the bills. Then my father finally find the love of his life Cathy, and her two kids Merrie and Noah, and despite the cramped living quarter and the 70 hour work weeks he still comes home with a smile on his face. About a year and half ago my newly found mother had to say goodbye for the last time to her parents just 2 month's apart from each other leaving everyone devastated. New issue's has risen with Cathy causingher to be hospital ridden for 4 weeks. We have never seen him more happy then when he is with her, but now more bills are piling up and there is less and less attention going towards the double-wide and is now in desperate need of help. We have been blessed enough to have survived the cancer and now I'm asking if you could please help my father be able to step though the doors and feel like he's home.

  9. Good morning ,
I am Debra Harsch, daughter to Charles Gordon Belzer born 1938.
On Jan 6th of this year I became my Dad's full-time caregiver since he came home from the Hospital and put on hospice.
Whith Dad being a ex-smoker, and 30 year veteran of the Grand Prairie Fire Department /EMT he indured a couple of fires in which he received 3rd degree burns, and severe lung damage.
Having chronic COPD, & onset of Dimentia he is now bed ridden. (Hospice )
My husband (Newlyweds ) and I moved from our dream home and two acres in the country (We were turning out fixer upper into a custom log cabin home) Well those dreams are gone, but if we can at least spruce up my Dad's house this would be a Godsend..
My Dad's home is about 11 years old. Two story, non cluttered diamond in the rough..
I am trying to bring color and life into this home. The original white primer is still on all walls. It needs TLC i just can't domit on my own My husband work's long hours at work and on our home webare still moving out of. He works so hard , but we just cant seem to do it all on our own.
I will gladly go into more detail if anyone intrested in our Family situation.
I knowI am walking out on a limb, but this would impact our Family in such a positive way considering our Heartache and Extreme fatigue from managing all we are now doing.. Plus finding time for all our Grandchildren 🙁

    Thank you
    Debra Harsch

  10. Hi my name is Sarah kallhoff. My friend is a single mother of two. She is in the national guard and deals with PTSD and depression. She has been through a lot including a hard childhood, best friend committing suicide, a divorce, and now having lost her last job due to a deployment at the dapl protest which lasted too long… She lives in a tiny trailer and is very overwhelmed by life right now…She always finds a way to keep on keeping on but I truly believe that with some help she could see that there is hope and there are tons of people that care… We live in north dakota and I live down the street from her. May God bless and keep you!! Thankyou for all the amazing work you guys do!!

  13. My husband and I are both disabled veterans have served 6 years in the USAF each, different times. I am 60% disabled and still suffering from back issues. My husband is 100% disabled, confined to a power chair when not in bed, and in constant pain. We bought our first house together in 2012 knowing there was work to be done on it. We had asked his siblings for help and they have but more issues are arising and his siblings are passing away sooner than expected, lost 2 in 2016 alone. I have been forced to go back to work since our disability checks are no longer sufficient enough to pay bills and credit card debts. We tried to refinance the home but it was appraised for less than what we owed so we could not get any extra funds for remodeling. We now have 9 dogs, which is why we had to move into a bigger home with a bigger yard, and the fence is falling over due to age and rotting. The toilet upstairs leaks badly into the bathroom downstairs and his bedroom. His chair is too big for most of the doorways so they have been scratched up badly. The basement is very humid, even with the dehumidifier on 24/7, and probably has mold in it. In the summer we get bugs and in the winter we get mice. We don't have the money or capabilities to fix all the problems so the house is comfortable for us to live in. Please, we need help.

  14. Ok, this is probably the hardest thing I have done. I will start by stating that both myself and my husband are disabled, and we had a house fire in May of 2012, that did not burn the house to the ground but did extensive damage that made the house unlivable. We were trying to get the funds together to upgrade the house so that my brother, a disabled vet, could come and stay with us rather than the VA nursing home. We would have had to widen the doors, add a batheroom that would have been accessible to him as he has a power chair. He medical condition have caused him to lose the use of his legs other than long enough to move from the bed to his chair. If you could help us in this endeavor we would be extremely grateful. Thank you for your consideration.

  15. My name is Maddie and I live in a house of 11 people. My parents have adopted 10 of us and all 11 of us have special needs including our dogs. 18. Hi it's 4am in the morning and I'm up and can't sleep because I'm so worried about my mom and her health because of her home. My mother was in a bad car accident on the highway where she was thrown out of the truck and the truck landed on top of her. My mom is blessed to be alive enemy though her body is still healing she can't work again and she has daily struggles she face. Her spine be lungs will be healing for the remainder of her life. My mom has been in her 3 bedroom home for over 11 years. Its 3 bedroom with 2 bathrooms. The house is old and she has not been able to clean it out or de clutter the home because of her accident. My mom has grandkids she keep in the home with her and it's not safe for them but she don't see the problem with all the clutter in the home. There is no where to sit when you enter the home the walls are stained and dirty. It's just helpless and unsafe. Please help her. Please. The family have tried to help her for years but she will not accept the help from us. I'm so worried she will end up hurting herself in her home and I would just love for her to be able to get in a clean bed and have a good nights rest.

  19. Hi my name is Lisa Marry and me and my husband took over my mother in-laws house and it needs new pipes, floor's, rough, wiring and the Foundation. We have a 6 year old daughter and a 5 year old granddaughter and 4 chihuahuas. Please help us out. Thank you and God bless you.

  20. I am entering my mother in for a home makeover. All her life she has sacrificed doing things for herself to make sure everyone else in the family were taken care of. She has always worked hard and kept our family going. She has tried several times to fix her house up, but with limited funds it never is what she really wanted, even though she acts like it is. My dream for her is that she could have her dream home and everything she has ever wanted. She has sacrificed so much for our family she deserves it all. I think she has had the same clothes since I was 10 and I'm 36 now. My children and I would have never made it if it wasn't for her. I love her so much and hope you could help me make her dream come true by redoing her home into her dream home.

  21. Hello my name is Susan I am from Missouri. My husband and I have raised our 5 kids and now it's just us we leave in an old farm house on 10 acres. The house I call the halfway house is half done on everything because my husband starts a project and it never gets finished. I was diagnosed with head and neck cancer in May 2016 during this time it really bothered me my house being a disaster. I have 5 kids and 10 grandkids and would love to have them spend time with me but I don't like visitors the way everything looks.

  22. Hello my name is Tanna and I'm writing to you about my brother and his family. About 3 to 4 years ago my brother Jeffrey was diagnose with m.s. and he had lost his eye site for about a week during that week he had got married and did really get to see it. Then on top of that on June 13 2016 his oldest son was diagnose with osteosarcoma at the age of ten devin has very high spirit and is doing well with his chemotherapy. He did have to get rotionplasty surgery. Now his ankle joint its his knee joint. They have a 2 story home that the stairs are falling apart and the house is just old. They need a one story home in case my brother ends up in a wheel chair and for devin to get around with his new leg. They are the most sweetest family who helps everybody before themselves. The more stress on Jeff the more his ms attacks him. With a new home that would take a lot of weight off him. Please help us.

  23. Hello!
My name is Wendy Bolton. my husband and I have recently taken on the adventure of foster parenting. we are making this our ministry to help children in the foster care system and help with reunification of children with parents. we have one problem…..our home is not big enough! we have a 3 bedroom 2 bath home. that sounds like it would be big enough right? wrong. the rooms are so small we would barely be able to fit one to a room. This is a service that has been on our hearts for awhile and just need help getting there . In the state of Texas we can foster up to 6 children at a time and would love the opportunity to do so but can't unfortunately due to the size of our home. Please consider us as you go to pick out a winner . I know there are probably some pretty deserving people out there more so than us . We just need help making this dream a reality.

  24. Hi i was wondering how my fiance which bought a house and he works so hard hard to provide for us but he never have time nor the funds to fix up his house he try so hard to get it together but between bills and the family he never have time for his house. I think this would be a great gift or wish to fix up the house. We was wondering what we need to do to be able to have a chance to get the help. Thank you so much.

  25. Hi! We would be so honored if we were picked for a make over…..our family really needs this. You see we are a family of 5 living in our dream home…..well almost. We bought this fixer upper farm almost 5 years ago. It is was perfect. We bought it in the fall, and it was scheduled to be torn down the following spring. There was Soooo Much work to be done before we could even move in! For starters there wasn't even water ran into the home. The cabinets and doors and many other fixtures were removed. We basically bought a shell of a house. We worked hard for several months before it was even livable. After living out here in farm country for a short time, something very serious happened….i developed a severe allergy to some of the chemicals that the farmers spray on their crops to control pests and fungus. I have spent several weeks in the hospital, just trying to heal my lungs……we have asked many of the farmers who work the fields around our home to be considerate and call before they spray, and for the most part a majority of them do. But, what's scary is that this home is nowhere near air tight. We were looking into moving to a new area up north where farming isnt so prevalent, but we have ultimately decided that this is our home and we cant leave it. So, this is me begging you to help us restore this old home. We need it made into a beautiful and SAFE place for me and our family to enjoy for the rest of our lives…thank you.

  31. Hi, my name is Rebecca Puckett, and in 2012 we had a house fire which made the home unlivable and the insurance was just enough to pay off the mortgage. I have been disabled since 2000, and my husband, Roger, is fighting to get his disability. We we were in the house we had rescued 8 cats that had been dumped as kittens or would have been if we hadn't taken them in, in the course of the house fire, we lost 6 of them to smoke inhalation and we also lost 1 dog. At the same time we had a large feral colony of cats that we took care of that has now got down to just one outside cat. We have tried everything we can to figure out how to repair this home as we both would like to get into the fostering of cats/kittens so that they can be adopted rather than having to be put down.

At the present time we are living in a small 8 x 30 travel type trailer with all of the items we were able to salvage from the fire in storage. The house did not burn to the ground but it is extensive. I do not have any want to send you a video of the house and us, so if there is another way to do so, please let me know and I would be more than happy to get pictures to you.

    Thank you for your consideration.

  36. Hello ! My name is Abby, I am a single mother to two little boys . I have been working my hind end off even before my first son was born just to provide for him the best life that I can possibly give him. That being said, I recently had purchased a home, and actual home for my children ! I thought it'd be a wonderful upgrade from the tiny apartments we had been stuck in for years. Unfortunately, not much longer after we moved in my house began to slowly fall apart. The foundation, the water pipes, I've had flooding which in turn has completely ruined my garage which the previous owner turned into a mudroom. I am fighting tooth and nail to work as much overtime as I can just to replace one thing at a time but it's hard to do with my income being the only one. I would be so appreciative and grateful if my boys and I won a makeover . I know everyone must work for a living and I stand by that but I feel as if I can never catch up to just have quality time with my children, they mean more than anything to me so if I could give them this dream come true I would be overjoyed!

  37. Hi, my name is donna and I am taking my chances on this. I am married to my disabled vetern husband for almost 32 years and we have been thru alot, almost 6 years ago he lost his leg due to diabetes and a failed surgery that left him with major ulcer on the bottom of his foot for years and still worked even after he got a prosthetic leg, which btw still doesn't fit properly. Then last summer due to not having the the right diabetic shoes got a blister which broke got infected, he had to get his pinky toe knuckle taken out, a pick line in his arm for us to administer antibiotics every day, finally gone, also a wound vac on his foot. From july til dec. We went thru that. He is still trying to finally heal the callous left. But he is overweight, bad back, always in pain but he worked with the prosthetic leg as a painter for 2 to 3 years before retiring, doing all the high work. He has been retired for almost 2 years now on top of that we are raising our 10 year old aspberger grandson, who is available such a big hearted little man. I now work come home and take care of them both. I have to help my husband everyday with getting dressed (he also had a small stroke at one time) putting on his leg and shower time I get his walker out take off his shoes and put on his rubber thing that goes over his leg, put down towels over our old rugs so he doesn't get any more infections dry his feet and toes and get him dressed can nd there for a long while dress his wound every day. Right now we live in a single wide home that is small and falling apart. Master bath is so small we can't both fit in there and the toilet floor is rotting so we keep the water off and pour water in it to flush because of the leak one day if we lean the wrong way we will be sitting under the house. Our bedroom is also very small my husband trips all over this house because it is so small and he can't move his foot too well. He has fallin many times which scares me especially if I am not at home and my grandson being at school or at home to see it. The ceiling fan is hanging out the ceiling fro when my little guy was small he hung on it. Then my kitchen floor is also rotted from a leak under our kitchen we didn't know about for a year. The scariest is the electrical system is all messed up my grandsons room the light blinks off and on and in the kitchen we smelled wires burning in the ceiling because I would use a spatula to hit it for it to stay on. There is not enough windows or lighting. I have been plumber many times having to try and unblock our pipes under the house many times for many reasons sometimes pulling out toys at one point, lol. We don't own the land and for 3 years we couldn't get him to put in a new septic because our tree was collapsing the septic, so the overflow in the yard was terrible, flooded and stinky. Finally fixed but still the same dirt that soaked in feces. Just so many things and now my son is gonna have to move backhome for awhile but this as house is so small and dangeros for us all. And my grandson wants a dog, which I would like to be a service dog for him, but due to no room we can't. And my daughter (grandsons mom) just got married and might have kids someday confuses my grandson a little bit because he lives with us. And next year he will be going to middle school and it scares me cause even tho he is outgoing he is different and he doesn't have any friends and our house is so bad it is embarrassing to have anyone over. All we want is a house completely ours with room to walk and windows for lighting, a yard, and not be scared of an electrical fire and lose everything or our lives. I just want safety and happiness for us all. Thanks for reading and god bless. I understand there are alot of people with problems so good luck everybody. And thanks to all our veterans out there for our freedom and hope none of them go thru what we have. My story could go on and on but enough for now. Again thanks

  39. I recently escaped an abusive marriage, moving across the country to Missouri where a good friend lives. I'm disabled with a fixed income from social security, so I couldn't afford much and jumped on a fixer upper house that has really low rent. Unfortunately, it needs alot of work. But fortunately, my friend cleaned it up best he could and also has been helping me by fixing what he can. My friend can do alot of things, but he's no professional. Another unfortunate situation is that the previous tenant totally wrecked the place! Plumbing didn't work, electric is sketchy and missing parts, not to mention the holes in the walls! We could really use your help getting my new house and in turn, my new life, on the right track.

  40. Hello, my name is Gabriel Melendez and I live and work in Paterson, NJ. Paterson, NJ right now is the third worst city to live in the United States right now. After I graduated from college, I needed to look for work. I reached out to my friend from junior college, Kimberly Arias and she suggested to me to take a job with AmeriCorps, a non profit agency developed by President Bill Clinton while he was in office. I currently work at St. Paul's Episcopal Church in their food pantry. St. Paul's food pantry is one of the oldest pantries in the city serving up to 75 clients daily. Our food pantry is in need of a serious overhaul as we have limited space for all the food we receive on a daily basis. Our AmeriCorps director is Eva Grote and our meeting room is directly across the street and is desperate need for a makeover. We would like to have the AmeriCorps meeting room up to date so when new members begin their yearly commitment they feel welcome and that they matter. St Pauls Community Development Corporation is a non profit organization and we serve Paterson to the best of our ability. Extreme Home Makeover is a great show and I think that St Pauls Community Development Corporation is a prime candidate for consideration.

  41. Hello my name is Alisa and I'm applying for my Aunt Mavis and her two young kids. Our family lives in Navarre Florida where all the Hurricanes seem to hit from the gulf of Mexico. My aunt's single wide trailers roof got damaged in the aftermath but she didn't have home owners insurance to replace the roof, which FEMA helped but it was not permanent and got torn to pieces by the next hurricane. By this time it had grown a dangerous black mold in the ceiling and the roof could cave totally at any given time with only 2×4's holding the remaining ceiling up. She is a loving and caring single mother to her children. The oldest child has Austism and numerous other mental health issues. My aunt Mavis just found out she has Stage 2 triple negative ductal carcinoma a very aggressive breast cancer and is going thru radiation and chemo. She also has an upcoming surgery for a double mastectomy soon. She has no where else to live and owns the trailer with the falling, moldy roof and no money to fix it since she only has a fixed income, barely scraping by to keep the bills paid. If anyone deserves a blessing it's her. Thanks for your time, hope to hear from someone soon I pray. – Alisa

  42. About 3 weeks ago we lost our home to a fire, we had just bought the house in October 2016 and was waiting on income tax money to come so we could get insurance on it but that didn't come in time. We have 5 daughter's ages 6, 5, 2, 1, & a 12 day old newborn. We don't have the money to repair the home or to get another home, we spent EVERYTHING we had purchasing this home, it was 4 bedroom 2 bath home. We desperately need some type of help getting our home fixed not rebuilt but jus fixed from the damage so we can have a home to take our kids to again. I'm praying you all can help us in some type away because we don't know of anybody else to reach out to and we're running out of luck and hope. Thank you and God bless!

  43. Hello! My name is Joy, I am writing to you for my mom Judith. My mom is on a fixed income and does the best she can to take care of herself. Mom raised 4 children (three boys and I) as a single parent after my dad passed away. My mom has a small home that she keeps spotless…however, it is in desperate need of repairs. The floors are falling in, the roof leaks when there is a heavy rain and on more than one occasion she has had opossums come in her home from under the kitchen cabinets (there was a hole there). My mom is known and loved by the entire city of Hattiesburg, we would forever be thankful if we could get some help for her. Thank you for listening, have a good day.

  44. Hi! My name is Lauren. I am writing this post not for myself, but for my dad; Tony. He has spent his whole life sacrificing his time for his family and country. He got married and joined the Military when he was 19 years old. We have moved all over the US and even lived overseas for 3 years. I have never lived in one place for more than 4 years. In 2002 my dad was medically discharged due to his asthma and we moved back to the States. We have moved so much and my parents had always wanted to slow down and find a " forever home " so In 2010 my family moved to Tennessee we bought land with a old log home on it, with plans to remodel and move into. My family of five lived in a camper for 4 years while my dad, two brothers, mother and I tour down and rebuilt our house ourselves out of pocket. We are still not even close to being finished, but have moved in anyways to keen my mothers sanity due to how hard it was living in a small camper for such an extended period of time. My dad started college classes 2 years ago (I believe) to help support my family. Between working a full time job, online college, church and building a house… he is literally working himself to death at age 41. I just turned 20 years old on Feb 2 and don't plan on being home much longer, but I worry about my family and the stress on my dad. We have taken in a family of 7 the beginning of this year and my dad has been supporting my family and theirs all on his own, I do what I can to help but i'm afraid it is not enough. I know there are so many people out there with stories that will melt your heart. I am just trying to help my dad. His birthday is in a few week and I really wanted to do something special for him and my family. I have a younger brother who is only 15 and is so smart and can build just about anything after this experience I am so proud of him!

  45. Hello all, iv been amongst care for about 6 years now. My most recent job being within a care home , the environment is always busy but enjoyable. From the minute I wake up my thoughts are with them all there continuously thinking of ways to better their lives or continue independence. I'm currently standing as dementia lead within our home, and although we have many activities etc going on we lack a sensory/games room where they could ideally enjoy individually or as a group. Amongst our home we have a lot of advanced dementia residents of which need constant brain activity to encourage assisted living. We all work so hard with our residents but to have somewhere for all of us to enjoy would be the heart of our home, we would welcome any help you could offer and think it would be something of a challenge to try and develop a room around so many different minded individuals. Good luck to all you lovely people applying. We are based in a small town called Chippenham in wiltshire, our home is called Seymour House please feel free to look into this further online.

  46. We are from sunbury pennsylvania. Friends of ours are in need and i thought i'd take achance and send you the story. They are a married couple in their early 50's she works at a state school helping the handicapped people every day for those who cant help themselves or have anyone else to. He did carpentry work and ended up being diagnosed with copd. After he started a new job with my husband, he wasnt there long before they put him on oxygen and it's that bad he can no longer work or even leave the house much. He was also a drummer in a country rock band that enjoyed bringing entertainment to everyone everywhere but it all stopped abruptly. These people would do anything for anyone. I have grown up with betty and met her husband jeff.
They had to readjust their lives for the best . Not having vacations and such between work and the band on weekends. Betty learn how to deal with close calls with jeffs copd on more than one occassion. Thank god hes got an angel watching over him. He has to be on his death bed before hes available for a lung transplant. They just take one day at a time.
This past year was a close call for jeff and betty saved his life. They called 911 and in the process of cpr they broke his collar bone. Hes recovered from that. A few days ago betty came back from getting groceries and parked their car under the porch just to unload. When she turned the car off, smoke came from under the hood. So when she finished unloading she tried to start the car but it would not.
Above the car on the front porch were jeffs oxygen tanks. The car caught the house on fire the oxygen tanks started exploding like missles, it shook the neighbors houses. Jeff and Betty were safe but they sat in the back of a police cruiser and watch everything go up in flames including the vehicle. I feel so bad like i should be doing something to help. Since i've always watched ty's show, thats the first thing that came to mind. If anyone deserves help, it would be Jeff and Betty bless their hearts. They lost everything but each other. 570-495-3511
Thanx ever so much for taking time to read this.

  47. Hello my name is Tracy lipari

My cousin was just diagnosed with cancer and unfortunately it is through his whole body. Just last year they had a fire in there house and it caused a lot of damage. They also have a daughter with down syndrome and the mother has had to stay home to take care of there child around the clock. At this time he is fighting for his life and there is still work to be done with the house and he did not have house insurance at the time. Before he was diagnosed he was able to get half the work completed but now can not perform the changes that are still needed. This deeply saddens my heart and I can only wish and pray they could get the help they so desperately need that I can not provide. I'm hoping there is a way to help this family in need. What a gift you could give to this family, heck they would not ask for a new house just some help to fix what's left not done. I and my family are ready to get our hands ready to work and to help you to help this family in need.

  53. Hello! My co-worker is a Physical Therapist who spends everyday caring for and helping others. He does not ask for anything in return! Not only does he run a program to assist injured people with return to work, he runs sled hockey clinics to support adults and children with disabilities. The clinic involvement can stretch him literally across the state of NY from City to City as he maintains contact between the community and major sport teams/wounded warriors. His son has had multiple leg surgeries which involve stressful travel from NY to Florida, not to mention the daily worries about healing and his meeting current daily/future goals, activities, and endeavors. Work and community involvement have superseeded the needs of his own regarding having time to keep up with the house and spend quality time with family. My co-worker arrives to work with a smile everyday although he is hurting himself from having to physically lift, push, pull, and carry his son due to home and transportation inefficiencies. I am sending an application on his behalf as his son requires more surgeries, and he is getting older and he would benefit from your most thoughtful home modifications. Thank you for this opportunity!

  54. Hi my name is Jamie and my family and I been through hell and back. I read everyone's stories and I know my family and I won't be able get the help we need because all those families stories needs it more than us and we are fine with that but it doesn't hurt to tell our story. First off let me tell u about myself. I'm 25 years old and I'm adopted from Russia. Me and my birth sister got adopted by the same family, I was 18 months old and my birth sister was a newborn when we came to America and we both got adopted I was 5 years old and she was 4 years old. Two years later my adopted parents daughter's husband and his friends rapped me. No one believed me when I told someone. My adopted parents would beat me with spoons and a belt. I would go to school with new bruises. When teachers asked my adopted parents about my bruises they would tell them I had a seizure and I hurt myself. Which is some what true I do have seizures I'm Epileptic but I would not hurt myself while having a seizure. I was being abused Physically and mentally in that home. They would keep me away from the other kids in the family because no one liked me and I didn't belong. A lot of times after school they would lock me in my room. My birth sister was the favorite of the family like they treated her like blood family. At age 8 they put me in group homes, shelters, and Residential Treatment Facility (RTF). I lived at those places until i was 18 years old and i went off to college. While living at those places i was still get rapped by the staffs. The staffs at this one group home are horrible drivers i was in 4 car accidents in 2010 so bad that the doctors told me that i couldnt have any children. It was a horrible place for kids. The only good thing tht happend to me while living there was i got to got to a public school for the first time and it was 12th grade. I got to go to prom and walk down with my class at graduation. I even met my high school sweet heart at my school who is now my husband and father of my two beautiful girls age 4 and 2. I went to Penn State Beaver and after 3 months of living in the dorms and taking the classes the school board told me that I couldn't attend to this school anymore because my Guardian which was CYS didn't pay the full year. So I had to pack up and leave. With no friends or family to go to for help I lived under the Freeport bridge for a month in the winter. Then I found my way to Apollo and got two jobs and an apartment. With not transportation I walked to and from my jobs in the winter. I lived in the apartment for 3 months and one day coming home from work I got a letter that the apartment building was being condemned so I was forced to leave. I chatted with my husband on Facebook who at the time we were just boyfriend and girlfriend and he had me move in with him and his mom and siblings. Then lived in a half trail while being 3 months pregnant with my oldest daughter and then we lived in an apartment. When I was 9 months pregnant with my oldest three days before my due date we got kicked out of our apartment for no reason at all so we moved into a shelter and on my due date the day after my husbands birthday on memorial day my oldest daughter was born. With no car and my husband walking to his part time job was hard. After 4 months my husband and I were fighting a lot and we took a break for a month and half. Then when we got back together his mom fought custody for our oldest daughter. We were back and forth with two days of seeing out daughter and a week not seeing her. I was so depressed I couldn't take it anymore. So my husband and I fought with his mom and had her drop the case and give use our child back. We all started to get alone. So me and my husband and my oldest daughter were always moving in and out of apartments. My husband having different part time jobs. He even had to work 3 part time jobs jus so we can pay the bills and stuff for our daughter and we were still broke. In 2014 I was pregnant with my second daughter and the apartment we were living in was infested with bed bugs. I was getting bit all over my body I have scares. My oldest daughter had to live with my mother in law for a month and I cried every night because I missed her. So 2 months before I gave birth to my second daughter we moved into a duplex then a year later we moved into a house that we are currently still in and renting. We like this house but needs a lot of work. Landlord is willing to sell the house to us but we don't think this is the house for us. We need a house that we can make memories in and that is safe for our kids. My kitchen is way to small, my bathroom is so small that my husbands legs touches the tub when he sits on the toilet, ext. Pretty much everything is to small. My kids have to share a bedroom and I can't fit two full size beds in that room. Our attic is half finished and half not. Our basement leaks and we can't use our drive way cuz other people uses it also and it messes up the bottom of my husbands car. If u can help us please we greatly appreciate it. If not we understand. God bless u all in what you do for others.

  55. we moved into my great aunt house because we could not make it on the farm. there was so much to do to this house that was over 100 years old. we could only do what we could to try and make it a home. I had 6 children which I lost one in 1989 in a accident so there 7 which included 5 children. we done the best we could with the little money we had. The older kids that married eventually moved in for a brief time until they had a place of their own. 5 years ago my spouse had minor knee surgery which had a lack of oxygen to the brain and is now in a nursing home. I have two boys that work everyday and stay with me making sure I will be fine and meet the bills. I feel like they cant get on with their life because of me. I miss the farm they was raised on but could not continue to stay there because of the economy. I love my family dearly and they would do anything for me but they have their own families to contend with. I don't know if you do this anymore but I sure wish there was a chance. I have put up a lot of my family including relatives because I don't want anyone to think there is no place to go. My home is there home. Please consider me for the makeover I know you have lots of applicants to consider and I understand, but please keep a place in your heart. Sincerely Vickie

  56. Hello, My name is Katrina Bryant. I am writing to you in hopes that we can receive this amazing blessing of a new home. Here is our story-
On December 1st, my mother, Beth suffered a massive hemorrhagic stroke. We had just finished laying to rest my moms brother, Everett and went out to my Uncles ranch to eat. It was at this point the stroke occurred. Mom is a volunteer EMT and has served her small community for 24 years on the ambulance and fire truck. She is also the Emergency Manager for Dewey County. I am also an EMT and I knew what was happening to mom when the stroke occurred. Myself along with my daughters and cousins took care of mom till the ambulance arrived, I then got on the ambulance with them to continue to care for her while we waited for AirEvac to arrive. When we finally made it to Oklahoma City, the Neurologist called and said that mom was very critical and that he would try to keep her alive until we arrived. When we got there, we were told that she had a bleed that was about a 45 cc bleed located very deep within the brain in the basil ganglia area. The Dr told us that he didn't know if she would live from this type of bleed. The first 48 hours were up and down. Our families faith is very strong and we immediately had the prayer chains going, I truly believe that all of northwest Oklahoma was praying for mom. Each day was a struggle, but each day also showed her gaining a little at a time. It was hard to watch mom laying there, but she is very stubborn and a fighter! My mom is amazing, her and dad were on the ambulance the night my bother had his wreck. They didn't realize that the call they were dispatched for was there own son. Wayne was very critical, they kept it together and took care of him. My brother later passed away from his injuries sustained from the wreck. When my dad passed away, mom awoke to hear the last breath leaving him, she immediately started CPR and called for help. My mom has endured great heartache but always kept a smile on her face, and would help anyone in need.
After being in ICU for 24 days mom was moved to a room and then later released to rehab and a skilled nursing facility. She can talk and move her right side, but her left side has no movement. Her memory is intact and she is still making progress everyday. My husband, daughters and myself want to bring mom home with us to take care of her when she is through with the rehab, only we can not due to our home being an older solitaire doublewide. Moms allergies are so severe now that I am afraid to bring her home, but with that being said our home is not handicapped accessible. Given the age of our home, we are afraid to start remodeling because we do not have the money available to fix what we find wrong with the house due to age and previous water leaks. I am not asking for anything "extreme", in fact we found a modular home at Palm Harbor that is handicapped accessible, but due to the price it will be a struggle to afford. I am the director of our local ambulance service, and my husband, who has had three back surgeries, and I volunteer on the fire department. We have full time jobs, 1 daughter in college, 1 daughter in high school and we run cattle, so money is very tight at our house. We are a proud family, and it is very hard to ask for help. Normally we are the ones dropping everything when the pager go's off to assist someone in need. This time we are the ones who need help. The fact that mom is alive and doing as good as she is, is a blessing from God. He is the reason she is still here with us. If you need to research my story, moms name is Beth Morrison from Taloga Oklahoma. I am Katrina Bryant, Camargo Oklahoma. Thank You

  57. Hello Ty,
My name is Tony Sawyer. I am sending this message in regards to Bill Twine of Onesimus Ministries. This man has dedicated his life to helping others for over 30 years. He has worked for the Virginia Department of Corrections for his entire professional career. His journey started with volunteering for the Gideon’s. He used to minister to the inmates in the Norfolk City Jail in 1982. He then felt compelled to start Onesimus Training center the same year. He started with 3 residents and actually lived here for two years. His mission statement comes from the book of Philemon. The story is as follows, Paul encouraged Philemon to accept Onesimus into his home, and made the declaration that although Onesimus was once unprofitable to him, he was now a profit to Paul. He stated that he would also be of profit to Philemon. Bill Twine has selflessly opened his arms to the men of Onesimus when no one else would. He created an opportunity for these men to change their lives and become productive members of society. He provides a home for them, but not only that, he provides a family unit for the men to hold one another accountable. Society has a tendency to turn its back on ex-offenders out of fear and distrust. Bill Twine recognized a need to help us see that shunning these men caused an environment of new offenses and a rise in recidivism. He took a leap of faith and has been successful in this endeavor for over 30 years. He provides the men transportation to and from work, rides to legal appointments, community based self-help organizations, and regular attendance to church/Bible based services. Several community based organizations are involved in the men`s lives. Regular functions with the community enables the men to recognize they have the ability to succeed with the encouragement of others. I do not know if others realize the impact this man has had on the lives of hundreds of men over the years. I can only speculate on the number of people spared from return to prison, because of the chance he gives the men. He has in turn helped the community by showing these men another option.
The ministry is located in the Dismal Swamp in Chesapeake, Va. The house is in livable condition, but has a long list of issues that a band aid will not fix. Just to name a few. The water is not drinkable; we get our water from outside sources. The house is infested with rodents and bed bugs. There are electrical issues with the houses wiring. The septic lacks a water softener and turns the white cloths washed in the machines yellow. The house has settled over the years and is not level, causing the drywall to crack. There is an issue with mold. Every time there is a heavy storm the place floods and the house loses power. The heating system is outdated and there is no central climate control in the hot summer months. These are the major items that require attention.
I came to Onesimus 18 months ago as a volunteer/staff. The men`s needs at the training center motivated me to return to college at the age of 47 to get certified as a substance abuse counselor. I saw the need to become better equipped to serve them. I attend Tidewater Community College and intend on transferring to Old Dominion University when I complete my Associates degree. I am not only a staff member here at Onesimus, but in 1997 I was a resident. I have experienced the love of Bill Twine and Onesimus first hand. I will have you know I never intended on my stay lasting this long, but here I am just the same. I am committed to the vision of Twine and would love seeing this ministry succeed for another 30 years. We thank you for any consideration you deem suitable.
    Sincerely
    Tony Sawyer

  58. I am writing in hopes to get a home makeover for my home. I live in a old home and have had 6 children and 10 grandchildren. Each one of my kids and their families have lived with me until they get into their home. and I am more than happy to do so. 5 years ago my spouse went under a minor operations and came out with mental problems that put him in a permanent nursing home. I would love to have my home updated. My whole house is paneled and would love to see it updated. I have also had a lot of medical problems and sleep in a recliner. Just am depressed because I would love to have a lovely home for my family to come home to. Please consider me for the makeover, I would really appreciate it and God Bless you!!!!

  59. My mother's home is really unlivable but she lives in it. I feel so bad for my mom. I wish I had the funds to buy and rebuild what her home needs. I even tried getting my mom to live with me but she loves her home. I wish my mom could be chosen to be on the show for home makeover in Shreveport, La. She is one deserving person.

  60. My name is Andria. I am a 31 year old who has two daughters. We live with my mom and my step dad. The house they bought needed a lot of work and we have done some of the repairs ourselves. But money only goes so far. We live in a very small town, Cedar, Kansas. Most of the houses here in Cedar are run down. My step dad is on disability due to him losing his arm in a work related accident. We used his settlement money to by the house and make repairs. My mom has to work full-time and her health is not the best. She is a diabetic. My oldest daughter is also a diabetic. Our foundation is falling down. Our septic system doesn't work well. Our well is in bad shape. The house could collapse. It is a two story house my children and I sleep upstairs. We do not have central air and heat upstairs. During the winter and most of the summer my girls sleep with me because we can only run one heater or the breaker will trip. We have a window AC unit upstairs and that is the only way to cool it down in the summer. We are in desperate need of help. I am not able to work at the moment. I wish I was able to to help them out but due to some medical issues it has made it not possible at the moment. Our roof leaks and is falling in. Our bathroom downstairs is in horrible shape. It is caving in due to the foundation. My family means so much to me. I want to make it where my parents and I can feel safe and not have to worry about my kids getting sick. Money is tight and resources are very slim. We need help.

  61. Hello, my name is David. Me & my mom have lived in this house for 16 years. Since then, we've added on a laundry room addition, and a bigger living room. Both of her ex boyfriends were supposed to help out, but they ended up only doing half the work, then leaving us. My mom works around the clock to keep bills up, and she struggles due to her ex boyfriends using her for money. They left us with a roof that leaks bad in the laundry room to where the roof looks like it's about to cave in, and the roof in the living room leaks as well. Please help us, I worry about her health, and I want to do everything I can to help her.

  62. Hello.
My Name is Carla and I'm writing this for my friend. He has worked hard all his life and he and his wife took on their grandkids to raise after the untimely death of her son. They have been barely making ends meet. He worked over the road doing industrial construction till he found out he has ALS has is now slowly getting worse. He was given 9 mo.ths to live back in Sept. 2016. All they want is to get moved back home to Pennsylvania. Problem is they have land but no house. I was hoping that you guys would be able to help them get a house built on their property and get moved before this horrible disease takes him from them. It would be a dream come true to get them home.
    Praying for a miracle.
    Carla Stanfill

  66. Hi extreme makeover team. We are in need of a serious miracle. It all started 10 months ago when my fiancé's grandmother passed away of stage 4 cancer which spread throughout her body when she was diagnosed with breast cancer years ago. Last thanksgiving what we thought was the start of her cold ended up being the cancer taking over her body. As we all stood by knowing it was too late to do anything to help her she passed in March of 2016. Now her daughter is going down the same road. My fiancé's aunt has been fighting COPD for 8 years. As they don't have a stable place to call home, they now live in a trailer because their home before was filled with mold. With all the hospitial bills coming in they are not able to afford and able to have a stable house. As they now are finding things wrong with their trailer they are in serious trouble. She has been in and out of the hospitial ever two weeks for last last 3 months. As her kids are still living at home in this unstable environment and when she comes home from the hospitial her unstable home is putting her right back into the hospitial. It is an ongoing battle, as yesterday she was put back in the hospitial because of gaining 6 pound of fluid overnight and now has a very mild state of congestive heart failure. With her family trying to be there to support her as well as living their life at home it is becoming really hard on all of us and we are hoping that you will be able to help us. We need a miracle. GOD BLESS.

  67. Hello! My name is Marcela Williams and I am from Glenwood, Iowa. I am a single mom of three wonderful and busy kids. Two girls, ages 14 and 12 and one boy who is 9. I am also a survivor of domestic abuse. I have been divorced for over 7 years. My kids and I stay pretty busy with their activities and we like to play card games, mostly slap jack! My oldest daughter has been diagnosed with ADHD, OCD, and a mood disorder. She has extreme anxiety and has been bullied at school numerous times. Her mood disorders can complicate things at home and when she is hurt or angry, she can lash out and become violent. She currently takes medication and we have therapy sessions once a week. In the last four years, I have had to admit her to the hospital twice due to her depression. In the meantime, I completed my bachelors degree this last year all while begin granted full custody of my kids (we had joint custody prior to). My other two kids have endured just as much stress in going through countless episodes with their sister who suffers from mental illness.
I was able to keep my house when I divorced and it has been difficult keeping up and making payments. My house is a 1960's ranch and I bought it from the original owners with little updates made. The most significant concerns I have is the basement bathroom where our only shower is. There is not a ventilation system when we shower and black mold has developed. The shower is falling apart and the drain constantly clogs. My kitchen has never been updated and I have no dishwasher! With three kids, working all day and running to after school activities, it is difficult to keep up with dishes. They usually pile up until the weekend. My basement is partially finished and it is space we could utilize more often. The funds to update my house is lacking and although I have finished my bachelors degree, I have student loans to repay and I cannot save much monthly.
I am hoping to be considered by ABC for an updated, functional home where our family can continue to grow.
    Thank you!

  68. To whom it may concern,
My name is Carl Hillis and just cpl days ago my twin brother's wife had passed. It's been a rollercoaster of emotions for him and his 3 girls. I really don't know what to say,or how to go about it but they could really use your help and support and make the house he was so hoping to fix up and buy. He's my Big brother and I've always wanted the best for him and his family.
But,it seems that he can't get a break. Having now the responsibility of raising the girls by himself and still trying to keep the roof over their heads pains me so much. He's doing all he can working up to 6 days a week and sometimes 12 hr shifts.
Please, if you and your crew can find it in your hearts to consider my brother Craig Hillis and his three girls as recipients…..
I thank you so very much and hope to hear from you soon…. God Bless

  69. I know this family that took on 4 kids that needed a home. And had 2 of there own already. And Jessie is pregnant with there third. They live in Hamlin West Virginia in a little two bedroom trailer. They are good people that's had a hard life and deserves this home and space. Jessie and Billy is all about these kids getting a education and they need space to do that in. Please give these babies a room to study in. I've raised 5 of my own and struggled. But me and my husband did it. But it breaks my heart to see this family struggling and living in a tight space. Thank You so very much. Tye

  70. Hi my name is Shanna and I'm from San Angelo, TX. I wanted to share something with y'all. My mom is disabled, in a wheelchair, and bed bound. She is so wonderful and we're trying to get her into a house that's handicapped accessible for her. My sister and my fiance work for her but we all take care of her. Back in October of 2016, she had tripped and fell from getting out of bed to go to the bathroom. She laid there for about 5 hours and couldn't reach her phone to call for help. She was admitted into the hospital where the Dr diagnosed her having a stroke. She has hardly no feeling on her right side. She used to be able to drive, walk, etc but now that she had this stroke, it has limited her daily activities. She is a great mom and raised 3 kids working 4 jobs just to help pay bills. My fiance and I are currently living with her because she has to have 24/7 care. We live in an apartment at the moment. We're trying to find a place that's bigger. God has blessed this family with everything that we need.

  71. This is not for myself or a makeover home but a makeover RV that would be used for a mobile business for my sister. Her and her co-worker came up with the idea to remodel an RV for a mobile business but tragedy has stuck their plans and have brought the project to a screeching halt as my sister has lost her husband unexpectedly. He was basically the one who had all the blueprints so to speak and it's pretty much 80% complete. I'm reaching out to you in hopes to help complete their project and help her to continue to be financially self sufficient since the loss of her husband. Thank you in advance.
    Sincerely,
    Shannon

  73. Hi my name is Courtney, growing up I never had anything. Family has no money. And I've always wanted a better life for my kids than the life i had. We were always moving and never had anything or a place to call home. I am now 24 years old and I have a husband who works very hard for what we have. I have 4 kids and a 3 bedroom 1 bath home that was giving to us by my mother in law. My 3 boys share a small bedroom and hardly have no room to play. Can't afford outside toys or even to make the house any bigger. My boys share a closet that is so little their clothes don't fit. The walls are falling apart because the roof leaked for so long and have no money to fix it. My husband check only covers the bills. Please if you have it in your hearts to pick us. We really need a bigger home, we would be blessed by all measures. Thank you for the opportunity and goodluck to all that has applied to win the home makeover! -Courtney kelems
