  1. Hello, WOW! I never thought that I would be writing to one of my favorites shows. Which by the way makes me cry, because its so touching, and so nice of what everyone at ABC Extreme Home Editions along with many of the volunteers and supporters do for many families. I always watched and counted my blessings. Because everything and everyone in my family and home were ok.

Now, like I first started to say. I never imagined that I would be writing to my favorite show. To compliment them yes. But for myself?
Actually its for my daughter, that has been battling leukemia since she was diagnosed at age of 11 years old. The leukemia she has is very rare. Because its also a chrosome lyer chromosome. Its Leukemia All – B Philadelphia Like Chromosome.

My husband and I moved from Rochester New York with our two boys, little did we know that our plans were going to take a turn around where we became foster parents, we fostered for about 5 in a half years. But there were 3 special little girls that really never had the chance to go into a home that would adopt them.
But we had already fallen in love with them. We adopted the girls December 9, 2009 what a joyful Day! Then December 17th My husband came down with a very rare humane disorder, called ANCA that doctors gave him a very fine line to live, he went under kidney dialysis and chemotherapy. He was a hard working man, faithful attendee to his job. Made sure everything was up to date in our home. He is still with us. Still trying to hold up everyday the Lord gives him. He suffers from diabetes, and depression. But takes his medication daily faithfully
Now as for our daughter who is now 14 and battling the rare Leukemia. We fostered her when she was 4 and adored her. She was diagnosed September 17 2013 at the age of 11,

She battlted and she was on

    January 17, 2015
She then relapsed May 27, 2016. She was admitted immediately from her usual monthly check up from the clinic on that day of
    May 27th 2016

she then has had realm intense back to back chemotherapy, intense weight loss, many blood transfusions and 3 times into the intensive care unit. Where there was one night I just looked at her and she was just so pale, her eyes hardly open trying to look at me to speak and tell me with big years drop rolling down her eyes, but also trying to keep her beautiful smile, hiding something from and tells me "Mai (mommy) I'm tired of this I dont want to do this anymore") the nurse that was there near my little girls bed, I believe saw my reaction to Te words that came out of my daughters words. I got up from the recliner that was I was sitting on. I hopped into the bed with my daughter, cradled her into my arms and chest, and spike with her softly, and reminded her what her words were to me when the results came to us from her regular monthly clinic check ups. She said to me after we both cried and held each each other tight she we looked at each and she said "I GOT THIS! I smiled and said we GOT THIS because we have the Lord on our side! All I could do is hold her in my arms, comfort her and ask our Lord to please, please, heal my daughter. She then cleared and went on remission once again this July 12, 2016. she is now admitted at the Methodist hospital for a bone marrow transplant for October 3rd 2016. I pray that everything again goes well. She will be admitted for 4-6 weeks. We have been trying to fix everything little by little, due to our fixed income. But time and money is really against us

When it gets time for her to come home I am so worried, because our home really needs to be up to standards for her. When she was on remission the first time, we took had took a vacation so that our families in Rochester New York could meet out daughter's. For the very first time. Very very happy time for all of us. When we returned to our home. We returned to a disaster of water damage. It seems like as soon as we closed the gates to our property. The day we left for vacation, That's when it all began. There were pipes that busted under our double wide mobile home. It totally destroyed the main bedroom bathroom walls where the shower once was. I no longer have a shower, the double sink counter in the same bathroom under that cabinet sink is destroyed by water damage, bathroom floor, backroom walls and floor behind master bathroom, electrical plug for my freezer water damaged, I have a long cord running from the freezer in the back. Onto my kitchen counter, I am so terrified everytime my washer spins, the back entrance door also has water damage and not sure how far back the floor is weak. Then comes my three girls bedroom. They never had separate bedrooms since they entered our home. We tried that once and they cried for weeks. now when My daughter comes home from the hospital in 4 to 6 weeks, she has to be separated from her sisters because they have outgrown their bedroom they are a little too crowded for them. So I will have to try to convert the toyroom into a bedroom for at 1 year.. Which will leave my 8 year old and my 5 grandchildren without a toyroom. Which three of my grandchildren have a special story too. I live on 2and 1/2 acres of land. It is really nice its flat land. And a pool that make wish granted to our daughter. But she has not been really able to get in because when she was feeling ok to get in, we had so much , rain that, on top of everything that has happened our robotics Septic tank wall has tilted to the side and sometimes the water from the sprinklers yuck. Not healthy. I've tried applying for programs that the state and county offer. Weatherization program, everything I can think of. I'm out if ideas. Until I watched you guys and thought about it and thought about it. Can you consider our story, a true story of a woman that all she wants is to continue to give my daughter a healthy and happy life. I look at her when she is having a bad day and Say to myself, since the minute she entered this world she has suffered entering, into different homes the first 4 years of her little life, remembering every cruel and awful, disappointing moment that recorded into her mind. The abuse cold hearted people that tried to destroy her. But then she entered my home, counseling, therapy, above all trust, love and compassion. Then this awful illness strikes her! But this l, this, she will not fight the upccoming weeks months or year alone! We will try everthing possible to keep her healthy and happy. She has us, and I ask you ABC EXTREME MAKEOVER HOME EDITION. Will you help us, make our home a healthier envoiorment for our daughter ?

  2. Hi,

I live with my parents with my wife and his brother and my daughter on a corrugated iron house. Its been six years now and my mother is vey sickly and most of the time we don't usually have any space in the house to sleep because of my mother who is very sick and needs attention but we don't have any finances to help her. So please help us and come to Fiji. As our house does not have a proper toilet and kitchen and most of the time when it rains the roof is leaking. Please we need your help.

  3. I am writing this in hopes you will pick my childhood best friend, Julia Gonzales. She has three dependent kids and a disabled husband. Her husband had a stroke and hit his head while four-wheeling with his kids a year ago around Thanksgiving. He was told he wouldn't make it past a few months but has miraculously recovered. However, he is extremely disabled and requires 24/7 in-home care. He can no longer communicate and has to be fed. Julia works 40+ hours a week trying to support her three kids and husband. At the end of the day, she comes home to a 1990's 3 bedroom 2 bathroom house. The ceiling is falling, the floors are uneven, and her home is not up to federal construction codes. It needs a COMPLETE transformation. She gets little to no help from any of her family and is struggling financially. She is drowning in her husband's medical and physical therapy bills and lives paycheck to paycheck. Even then, she can't buy simple things for her kids. She is so deserving of this makeover. Julia never complains about her desperately unfortunate situation and has always been a good friend. Please choose Julia and her family and make a miracle happen!

  5. To whom it may concern, hi my name is kathleen and i dont know if this is real but i dont know where else to turn to for help. My Dad Richie O'Shea was a well know Irish singer and made albums and cd of Irish americsn music that spread all over the radio tv and through houses. He has been all over the world and very popular in the Irish community. He recently passed away and we lost a very special person that gave so much to people. He gave his heart and helped so many people throughout his life. Whether it was donations or fundraising my Dad always participated. When he retired from singing which he had a hit song "one day at a time" he opened an irish import store which was open for 21years. My family and I would love to continue his legacy and need help to remodel and give a frsh new start to the store. I would love for you to meet my loving family and 10 nieces and nephews who are all on board at keeping this legacy going. We eould appreciate anything you can help us with. Come to this small Irish community and you will fall in love with us and the people who want our store to remain open. We have full support of the town and we have people thst will also chip in. Please consider us for this makeover and i promise you this mom and pop store will not disappoint. Manor Irish Gift Shoppe.

  6. My name is Jaymi and me and my finace were recently asked to move into his grandfathers with him due to his health problems but the house is falling apart on the inside and out. His grandfather is 70 years old and recently lost his wife in January and his health has majorly declined since. My fiancé has many health problems himself ranging from having had brain surgery to having CHRON's disease(he's had brain, lung, and knee surgery, his heart is backwards and as a result is weak and many more things). I really want to give them both a healthy place to live but they have but grown up in this house and don't want to live anywhere else but caring for his grandfather is rather challenging in this house. I'm currently going to college to be a nurse so trying to repair the house and take care of everyone and work is rather difficult and would be great to have help! Thanks!

  7. Hello. my name is Erika Yesenia Garcia. There so many familes that need your help. I don't know if me and my host home perovder quilfly for the pergram.

  8. To begin, I see there are so many people who need help and I hope God does help them, but my family also needs help. Hello, my name is Carmen Smith. I am 17 years old. I am posting this about me and my family. We have a household of 7 people. We only have 4 bedrooms and we are looking to get two more children that we've had before. First off, I'd like to describe the condition of our home; Our home is falling apart. We have leaks in so many places, and the roof has caved in in one part of our home so we have a big hole in our ceiling, installation is all out, there are holes in our walls, windows need replacing, we just had to redo our floor because it was dry rotting, the other day while me and my brother were on the porch we were going to walk down the stairs and a place in the porch dry rotted and broke off, and just a lot more. Now, I will tell you our story. My family does not have a lot of money. We live in a Small town called Gordon, Georgia. My dad was in a wreck a few years ago aMD was put of work for 6 months so now we sre constantly backed up on bills and things so we can never put things toward our home because we do not have the money for it. He just got a new job a little over a year ago, but he is not making much more than he was so we still struggle with bills. My mom also has a disease called Edometrious. Everyone in my house constantly stays sick and we think it may be due to the installation and dust. We contantly dust and stuff but it never fails that it's there again the next day. My mom is constantly running me to the hospital and doctors for test because I'm ill and the doctors are trying to figure out what's wrong with me. I just went through a surgery bavk in December having my Gallbladder removed and recently had a endoscopy, colonoscopy, amd pill cam completed to see if we can determine the problem. I also have horrible asthma and stomach ulcers like my dad. My grandma suffers from chronic COPD. We always try to help everyone who comes out way. We let them stay with us, give them money, etc. I also give blood. We really need help fixing our home because it has so much family value. My great grandma and my grandpa who passed away lived in this home and itd mean so much to us to fix it up the way it should be and add some rooms so rhat we can help our health, ourselves, and get those 2 kids I mentioned before because our home didn't pass inspection to get them. It'd mean so much to me and my family. We are a huge fan of the show and have continuously watched for years. God bless.

  9. I recently just purchased a home for myself, girlfriend Randi (soon to be fiancé), and her son Bryson. Randi had a massive stroke and brain infection on Dec. 6th of 2015 and has had many physical and mental effects. She has one more surgery to replace her bone flap on her skull. I am in need of some upgrades to my new home so I can have it handicap accessible for Randi. On top of that, I enjoy wood working and also could use some upgrades to help clean up my space to do my work. The house is a cute little rambler on .25 acres with a detached 2 car garage. We have had many struggles in the past year and could really use some help to do some upgrades sooner than my salary will allow. We are reaching out to your show for a few specific reasons. First reason, Randi is a huge fan of home improvement shows, it is where she gets a lot of her awesome ideas. Secondly, as the woman I love so much, I couldn't imagine a better of bigger way of showing her just how much I love her. This stroke has left her confidence, self image, and hope at an extremely low level. I love her so much and still find her to be the most beautiful woman in the world. I know she knows how I feel but she has a hard time wondering why. I want to put her story and our story out there to help with her self doubt as well as raise stroke awareness and give others hope. The doctor's said she wouldn't walk again, and though it isn't fully functional, she is walking. She is amazing, strong, and deserves something like this show to help us with our new life. Thank you

  10. Hey I don't really do stuff like this but for some reason I had this random thought pop up in my head and So here I am. I don't really have this dramatic sad story To make its more heart warming so that my odds of being on the show are better but this is my story ?❤ my name is amber and I'm from good ole Alabama I'm not looking for help for me but for my mother she is just an amazing women an a blessing to be in my life So my mom and dad bout a house that was kind of a fixer upper. My dad was a handy man so he loved projects like this he's always been the go to guy the man in the family if anything was broken better believe he can fix it house and macanic wise. Well in 2013 my dad passed away leaving my mom all alone in this house well I swear it seemed like when he died the house died to EVERYTHING started going bad and wrong from electrical wiring problems to the roof an floors falling in. When he died my mom kinda threw herself into work so now she a work aholic I think it's her way of grieving an keeping her mind off things. My moms always so busy helping and making sure everybody else is okay an straight that she forgets to make sure that she okay so its like who gonna be there for her so I'm always telling her to just forget about the house leave it like it is an just go get an apartment or something but she always says no imma fix the house up because if anything every happens to you girls or if you need a place to stay I'll have room you can always have here to come (she has 5 daughters and and 8 grand kids ) which it would be a nice house it's 5 bed rooms 3 bath it just needs alot of work done so basically I'm doing this because my moms been such A blessing to me an my sister's life's and has always been there for us helped us financially an never turned her back on us an I just feel like she should get the house of her dreams An if I could do it I would .!!! So I fig this was worth a try ??

  11. I am not sure if this is the correct way to contact the show, but I am going to give it a shot. I have a very differnt story then most here. I am not right for myself, or even my family. I am writing for a very special group of children that are in need of desperate help. You see my husband and I have been living in Thailand for the past 10 years and have had the opportunity to see some amazing people doing amazing things. we have also, sadly, seen some really horrible things People would never believe the conditions that are normal living in the villages here.
during our time here we have meet many people who operate children's homes where orphans and abandon children are given a second chance at life. One of these homes is very dear to our hearts. there are currently 18 children in the home living in two houses. Because of lacks of funds one of the houses is going to have to be closed, meaning all 18 kids will be living in one house. Of courses this is not going to work. there are not enough rooms 4 or bath rooms (only 2). The house it's self is in terrible repair. The bathrooms are a disaster, there is one working toilet and one squaty potty and no hot water. the kids shower from a bucket. None of the children have any private space or personal articles. everything is shared. The founders have tried so hard, but are dealing with cancer and having to fly back and forth to their home country for medical treatments. They have given their lives for these children . they love each and everyone and it shows in the children. Yet now if something isn't done FAST the government is going to force them to send the children back to the villages. which means a live of child brides, slavery or prostitution for many of them. Please please please help!

  12. Dear Ty and the Extreme Makeover crew,
I would like to apply to get my Grandma Ruby Burroughs on the show. I honestly don't even know where to begin she's been through a lot the past 87 years. She is the most selfless person I have ever met. She has helped me a lot over the years, she is always giving to others instead of helping herself. She was born into The Great Depression in August 1929. Growing up she didn't even have much of a childhood she's always lived with the bare minimum. She had one outfit for Sunday or special events and one for weekdays and two pairs of shoes. As soon as she could work she did. She started babysitting for a mere 50 cents a day, and gave every dime to her parents except money to buy shoes to walk to work. As she got older she worked for a shoe store she got the money to pay bills and buy a brand new living room and bedroom set for her parents. As a child she bought her siblings clothes and other necessities. She worked her whole life, her husband, my grandpa was a WW2 veteran who passed away in 2002. She got injured in 1997 and up until then she worked 80+ hours a week just to help her family out. Her home isn't anywhere near livable but she make $77 over the limit for help in her city, yet most months can't afford to buy groceries or her medicine after space rent and utilities are paid. In 2009 my uncle was going to put flooring in her room so I took the carpet up and saw black mold. He said he didn't have time to do it he would do it the following weekend to put it back down, that day never came. She has a really hard time breathing in her own home among other health issues and I know if there wasn't mold everywhere in her mobile home she would be able to breath easier and live a better life. I really wish I could help her but financially I can't right now but this isn't how she should spend her last years on Earth. Since about 2005 my uncle across the street moved himself in since his house was falling apart and just crowded her house and she can hardly even walk in it, since his stuff is litterally in every room including hers. She used to have a guest room where grandkids could come and visit but her son is basically using it as a storage and sleeps on her couch so if she wants to visit we have to bring her to our house or visit while he is gone to work. Her bathroom was done a few years ago by the city but they pretty much just laid a shell cap over the tub so essentially the mold is still there, her kitchen has mold under the sink and the ceiling is starting to ruin during the last big rain her roof started leaking so she patched it with toothpaste. She is struggling to make ends meet so there is no budget to repair her house yet she still will go without if anyone needs anything. Moving on to the outside, she has fallen down her porch stairs more times then I can remember, her shed is falling apart and other things need to be done as well. She was given a notice recently her home needs to be painted and the outside patio and stairs need to be done among other things or she faces eviction. She owns her mobile home just not the space and has no where to go if this happens. In a nutshell, her whole house needs to be done for her to live a healthier mold free life. I am begging for you to help her Nothing fancy needed but I would love her to be able to breath clean air and walk around the inside and outside of her own home safely without falling. Also the manager of the trailer park is talking about removing the laundry mat so she will have no where to wash clothes so if you could do a stackable washer and dryer that would be amazing. Thank you for the opportunity to apply and help my grandma the only way I know how. See you in Norwalk, California soon.

    Sincerely,
    Candice LaPointe, Ruby Burroughs' granddaughter

  13. Real life "The Notebook" story… My boyfriend and I met when I was 14. He was my first love. I always knew that one day we were going to be a family. However due to families that didn't want us to be together are time was cut short after just 4 years. After 10 years apart we finally reunited and decided to start a family together. I had an 8 year old from a previous relationship. On December 9 2014 we were blessed with a son names Austin. Our family was growing and new we needed space. We currently reside in a 1 bedroom duplex that is falling apart! My 8 year old Nicholas doesn't have a bedroom right now for he is sleeping on the couch in the living room, carpet is torn apart, our front door is broken, bathroom is crumbling because of mold. I want our family to be able to be together however this house is no place for children 🙁 Due to finances we are unable to move. I love the area we live in, its a beautiful place with amazing schools. I hope someone hears my story and can help my family so we can stay in our home.

  16. Hello, my name is Rebecca Smith. I am 17 years old. I have 2 sisters. My mom and dad have been together for a very long time. We also have my uncle living with us. Yet we only have 3 bedrooms, and the house is falling apart. There is mold inside the windows. Our sink recently completely broke but we managed to fix it. We no longer have a downstairs bathroom because our toilet ruptured. My uncle sleeps in the dining room/living room, he basically turned it into his room. I share a room with my 18 year old sister Katie since she was 13 and I was 12. We need our own space. We currently do not own the house, but our landlord is okay with this. We have been renting to own since '11. We cannot afford or even have the credit to move into a new home. Please help us. Thank you so much

  17. Hello my name is mariah, my fiancé and I have five kids and one on the way which four of them live with us. So to start off we have recently found out our daughter who was due November 28th has a birth defect called gastroschisis (hole in abdominal wall-intestines are out). We are now due for a induction for labor no later than 37 weeks and im now 30 weeks so now she'll be here even sooner! Also due to the birth defect she will go for surgery as soon as she arrives, she could be in the hospital from anywhere between 4 weeks to several months. On top of all this stress our home is literally falling apart! My fiancé owns a trailer in Napoleon MI a wonderful small town perfect for our children to grow up in but our home is horrifying! So ill start the list of problems first is our roof, we have two added on rooms which leak everywhere causing mold, one of which currently has no window so the room isn't being used, kitchen floor is falling through due to a leak under trailer, bathroom floor has mold, front door has boards over due to broken windows, side door will not shut all the way (swelled), back door is metal and is ruined it has no window doesn't lock and metal is sharp and torn on different parts, several windows are missing or leak, lastly we have lots of trash in our back yard from past tenets and our back porch leaks and floor is falling due to water damage! Unfortunately my fiancé is the only one able to work currently which is our only income other than SNAP bennifits, so trying to fix these problems on our own is not working and just adding stress to all of us! Also we haven't had time to fix anything he works and when hes not we have doctors appointments, I alone have to be at U of M (1hr away from home) twice a week for non-stress test for our unborn daughter so our schedule is pretty much always busy! I would be overly grateful forever if we could have any help to improve our home, rebuild, or even a new one anything to help our family would be appreciated and truly a blessing and miracle! Thank you for taking your time out of your day to read this it means a lot to my family and I. God bless.

My mother in law has gotten very sick in the last year fighting type 2 diabetes, losing vision in right eye all together having to stop working and being able to assist my father in law pay bills. We are from Miami Fl, where cost of living is very high and one person paying all the bills is jot enough. If her gettig rapidly sick wasnt enough, 1 year ago August 2015, this family suffered deeply when they lost their oldest daughtet and sister causing my mother in-law to go into a deep depression as well because her daughter was in their home country of Guatemala when she passed away in her sleep of a seisure, leaving behind 2 little girls age 10 and 15 wiyh nobody watching over them my in-laws are paying their bills here as well as paying bills their ajd sending money for them to be able to eat, while we await for their citenships to be approved. Once their citizenships are approved it will still be a struggle bringing them to another country where they have nobody not even their mother, and wouldnt even have their own rooms because all my in-laws can afford is a 1 bedroom. I am asking you please help my in-laws to recieve a new home that will be comfortable for them and these 2 little girls. I believe they deserve it so much because my in-laws work hard everyday and do for others before they think to do for themselves.

  21. Hey, my name is Dalton. I'm 21 years old and recently just got married to this beautiful woman named Chelsea ? . This woman means everything to me especially her smile, we bought a trailer houses and it didn't need much work, well it does and we just don't have the help or the money to do it. We both work..she works at the bank of Montgomery and I work at a mill..only making 9 dollars a hour. Yea its hard on us.. Especially when we have bill and loans,it makes it so difficult to fix our house. We had bought this house from a older couple and the house was in okay shape, the only thing we could afford was to put a piece of plywood in one room and we have a 3 bedroom two bath trailer. Only one bathroom Is in okay shape…the other..well, is terrible..its hard for me and my wife to sleep and have all our clothes in one small room.. I'm sorry for this long message but I'm just a small town boy just trying to make it with my wife. If you just even look at this message just please let me know at least…we live in campti Louisiana…we would love for some help at least..

    Love,
    Chelsea & Dalton Mcquillin

  22. My Mother-In-Law is the world to me and my Husband and Monica is always there to give a helping hand to her family when in need. My Sister-In-Law had a very rear stroke in 2011 and my Mother-In-Law (Monica) does all that she can do to help and forgets about herself, she is getting older and she has a bathroom upstairs and she is needing one down stairs for her the foundation in the front of the house is dropping she loves to have her grand kids over at night during the summer and weekends when school is in. She has lost my Father-In-Law back in 2007. I would love for something that she does not have to worry about in the long run and can stay in her own house. Monica is a wonder full woman and Mother-In-Law that anyone could ever have. Please Help Her.

  24. Good morning. Im unsure of how to tell this story or if my story will even be heard. But, I will do what I can expecting the worst but praying for the best. I am reaching out to Ty and the crew to help my inlaws with an extreme home makeover. The two of them have done so much for others neglecting themselves. Theyve lived in their home for almost 20 years. Their home is slowly falling apart but they simply do not make enough money to repair it. My mother inlaw is diabetic and was forced to resign from her job of 14 years to work a job that offered benefits. She eventually was forced to stay home because of other health reasons. My father in law worked for a gas company for about the same amount of time but was laid off because he couldnt pass an English exam. For a few years the two were unemployed because he was diagnosed with cancer and undergone surgery. Multiple trips to the hospital for chemotherapy and radiation hindered him from working. He now works for a construction company and the two do what they can. Unfortunately, it is not enough. The homes air condition has completely gone out and they have used window units for the past 4 years. Theyve done research to get it fixed but do not have enough income to repair the entire system. The roof has water damage from multiple leaks. Theyve tried to repair the leaks themselves because they are unable to afford someone to come out. My husband and his siblings have tried to assist but are able to do very little because we all have families of our own to care for and unfortunately havent won the lottery. There was a water leak underneath the home and now the floors are warped. Cabinets are falling apart and so much more. I just wish there was something I could do. They work so hard and are well deserving of a beautiful home. My mother in law has raised her children and her sisters children in this home. It is the heart of the family. My inlaws do not know Im sending this message but its all I can think of to try and get help for the two of them. Im praying that whoever reads this…the Lord touches their heart and brings about a change for my inlaws. Theyre getting old, health is not its best, and it burdens me to see the home in the condition its in; living the way that they live and cannot do anything about. They work so hard. Please help them.

  25. Hello,
My name is Coralee Soloview. I love with my parents with my two children and boyfriend. My parents are two amazing people! My father was diagnosed with Diabetes at the age of 30, shortly after that he had his first heart attack causing him to have quadruple bypass surgery on his heart. A couple years after that he had yet another heart attack which the doctors then decided he needed a defibrillator surgically implanted in him. To he struggles to keep his health at bay. A few years ago he was diagnosed with spinal stenosis and early on set Parkinson's disease and things just seem to be going down hill for him. He is a good man that will do whatever he can for his friends and family! Know let me tell you about my mother she is absolutely amazing she would do anything for anybody! Right now there are 8 of us living in a 4 bedroom run down house with an unfinished basement and appliances breaking down left right and centre. Yet my mom continues to move forward. She helps other who are in need in pretty well that same boat we are but puts everyone before herself! They have no money with tons of debt and things that need to be fix that are hazardous. She continues to give what she has to other even though they could use it! They're driveway even needs to be fixed and they're vehicles need lots of fixing as well! They both have done so much for their friends and family and their church community. It's time they get something done for them!! I know many people that would feel the same way about them. They are one of many people that could use an Extreme Makeover Home Edition!

Thank you for letting me share their story!

  26. Hi, my name is Morgan Jones and I live in a small town of Anderson Indiana. I live in a family of 5 and we are having a hard time with our home. We are living in a 3-4 bedroom home and we don't have alot of room for our family. We have a hard time at school with people telling us that our home smells bad and we do EVERYTHING we can to keep it clean. My mother works everyday long hours and whatnot. An comes home late at night. My mother and father are both disabled and we have a 1 year old living with us. We have not enough room and not everyone has there own room. We have leaks in at least every room in the house and we have broken floors and ceilings, and walls. When it rains we had very bad leaking and we have to put pots in every room. And towels on the floor. We don't have the kind of money to prepare it ourselves. We also live on a very steep hill close to the rode and we can't let the 1 year old out to play cause we think its fangerous. We do have animals both dogs and cats and it gets hard to have a small one with a lot of people and a couple of oets. Also when it leaks it will usually flood our basement too. We are asking geatley for your help thank you!!

  27. The state of KY is has an obesity rate of 35%. Child obesity is 18%. Health problems are high and income is low. In our town of Elizabethtown, there is a gym run by a great guy and his wife, Mike and Melissa Duwe. He has started in the gym business a few years ago, working with other gyms…but his style did not fit the 'normal' gym ways. He went bankrupt, he lost his job, but he did not lose his dream to help others. He knew he had the key, but had to find the place. Mike has his own style which is being outspoken, truthful, in-your-face, but the most effective method, drawing so many people that normally would not stick to a gym routine, if there life depended on it. Well, we all know that there life does depend on it! TEAM DUWE is growing rapidly. In one year he went from 20 people a day to now over 100 people a day. He is inspiring "US" to be inspired to stick to it. We have become this 'TEAM' that gets through his tough work outs, do not give up, sweating and grunting but we are changing the world, changing our lives, CHANGING! Each one of us has a story to tell. He now has outgrown his small place. Has found a place next door that requires a lot of work before we can move into it. Many of us are willing to pitch in because this move is a community affair. This expansion is vital for the lives of so many people. This reno would allow for so many more Kentuckianas to come and be a part of our magic. I, myself, have been helped immensely by him. Let it suffice to say that I learned to say "F CANCER" and I survived stage IV colon cancer. Now I have a wonderful place to get stronger (and be ready for my next battle), AND watch as others come in with so many medical issues, many stemming from over weight, losing inches, getting stronger mentally and physically. Learning to exercise and Eat Healthy. TEAM DUWE has big dreams and we need a big push to get in our big space.

    Thank you

  31. Hi! My name is Desiree and I am asking for help to fix up my dads house. He has started many projects throughout the house but has not time and money to complete any of them. My whole life my dad has had to work three jobs just to keep a roof over our head and put food on the table. Along with working three jobs he also makes time to raise money for Toys for Tots every year with the 501st Legion. If you don't know what that is, it is a group of people who dress up in Star Wars costumes and raise money for different charities throughout the world. Even when things weren't going so great at home, my dad would gather up the kids and we would go raise money for others in need. Seeing a smile on a child's face because they just met Darth Vader is what brings my dad joy. My dad has always put others before himself and now it's his turn. Come on out to Provo, UT to meet to the local Darth Vader. Please help my dad fulfill his dreams for the house that I grew up in.
    Thanks,
    Desiree "aka Aayla Secura (Jedi)"

  36. Hi, extreme makeover crew I'm asking for this amazing home makeover because, I have a sister who has tracheostomy. Its very hard for my mother saying that she has 4 other kids to take care of with only one job. I feel like you'll be a blessing to my family because, my mom has been really stressing lately about finding us a better place to stay. I forgot to mention my sister Kennedy has a twin brother named Kayden and they were both born at 24 weeks, way before there due date. When they first was born Kennedy was doing fine and they weren't sure if Kayden twin A was going to pull through, but god has a plan for everybody on this earth. In the long run, Kennedy started getting really sick by sick I mean she had a lot of air in her stomach so, the only way for her to live was if they putted a trachea in her neck. My sister and brother pulled through a lot of operation's they are a true blessing to me and my family. Currently my mom is concerned about how she going to pay $900 dollars for rent to own house every month and buy us clothes and food. Its been a very hard year for me and family missing school some days because, my sisters has to got to the hospital and my mom a single parent so, its very hard on her. My sister has been through 30 operations and its very tough so, please help me and family have place that we can call our own and don't have to stress about how were going to pay the next bill.

  41. I need help. I am a DAV who is mobility challenged and deteriorating. My family and I retired from Ft.Bragg NC and being from this state we are centrally located for our parents. Anyway we bought this home, it's an old dairy farm house built in 1870. It was and is my dream home, I even have a white pocket fence. Once we moved in more and more issues have surfaced anywhere from hidden termite damage to faulty electrical. I have the desire to fix this place up but I don't have the ability. I'm unable to work due to PTSD and physical injuries. Im in the process of being checked for TBI due to short term memory loss. My wife needs to get a job but I can't be left alone because I fall often. My kids are embarrassed to bring friends over because of the shape the house is in and that's not what I wanted for them. I only have a few years left with them at home and I want them to be good years that I don't have to spend the day trying to do tho,vs to make my home a home not a burden. I really need your help. I don't have much money after bills and everything but I 'll do what ever it takes to help you guys. I did 20 yrs in the Army and have it 100% and I 'll do the same to help you guys.

  49. Hello, My name Is Garry. I have a very close friend of mine who needs your help desperately!
He has a place to live but recently found mold in his house, a lot of mold. and since he has no where else to go he sleeps and lives there. He has a daughter he hasn't seen in over a year, He is desperately trying to get his life together so he can see his daughter more often. But, with a very low income a nasty divorce and mold flooding his home and no help from anyone, he is in bad shape. I can only do so much. He loves his daughter more than life itself but can't bring her home because of the condition of his home. I've been with them when she ask why she can't go with her daddy to his home and all he can do is cry. and to see a grown man cry that in return makes another grown man cry (me) is the most heartbreaking site a grown man can ever sit by and watch. Please take this into consideration. let your heart and his prayers be the answer he is praying for. Thank you!
    and God Bless!

  50. Hi, my name is Jennifer I'm contact you to please help my Uncle and his family they have been through hell and back lets start about thirteen years ago my Uncles youngest daughter Jessica was diagnosed with Hydrocephalus which is water on the brain… At three months old she had her first brain surgery no one knew that she was sick like that and now thirteen years later she had 10 brain surgeries besides that my dear uncle had health issues, He also was in and out of hospitals but the hospital always said their isn't anything wrong with him. I want to say about 3years back my other family member may she rest in piece died in the shower of a massive heart at age 46, so my uncle in now like let me go and get my heart checked out maybe this is way I'm never feeling well. So he proceeded to go to the doctors and said he was living off of 10% life and he would of died not even 2months later. He had open heart surgery broke open his chest, then had so many blood transfusions then not even a year later had foot amputation due to everything that's going on to him because he had bad circulation and developed 5 bacteria's in his big toe from getting an ulcer on his big toe due to diabetes. Then after that he was in the hospital had two heart attacks and a blood clot two centimeters away from his heart and could of died. So now to get to the point he owned his own business he got sick lost everything had nothing no one to help him couldn't keep up with the house things went down hill with the house things falling apart everything when I say everything coming to a crumble. He is a Husband, a father of 3 and a wonderful brother/uncle that has helped anyone he could a brother a sister a niece a nephew and friend even a stranger with open heart to help before he ever got sick like this in our family and still trying to support his family with all these problem and still going through all these problem with a home falling apart so I am asking you please help him and his family with a home that they deserve may god bless you… And please god please help them they really need it its hard seeing some one have nothing with a home falling apart, thank you sincerely your Jennifer….. 🙂

  51. Hello my name is Tia Gilliard,

I am sending in a request for help for my 62 year old mother Lorraine Gilliard, my aunt Loretta Gilliard whom are twins, and her son 33 year old son who is mentally challenged Demario Gilliard. Here recently there was a bad rain storm, that caused a tree to fail in on the two-bedroom duplex they occupied. They have been displaced since then, and desperately need a place to live. They have a home which was left to them by their mother when she passed in 2005, but cannot live in the home because of the repairs that’s needed to be done. They are on a fixed income and cannot afford to have these problems fixed. The house in question has not been occupied since 2005 when my grandmother died. At the time there were repairs that needed to be done but of course there was no money to do so. The house they own has foundation problem as well as plumbing and ceiling work that needs to be done. I would love for the house to be repaired so they can live in this house worry free, feeling safe and sound in their own place. At this time, they all are sleeping on blow up bed on the floor at someone home which is on government assistance and should not have anyone living with them. I would let them come with me but I am also displaced. These two women have been together their whole life and have never been apart from each other and it hurts me they have to sleep on blow up beds on a floor at their age. Please if you can, help me to help them go home. Thank you in advance.

  52. Hi HGTV, my name is Felicia and I'm writing to you on the behalf of my mother. She is a grandmother of 6 grand kids and works Monday through Saturday to take of the house and family. She is 3rd generation of family living in the house located in Compton, Ca. She has made small renovations in the house but unable to finish the projects because of financial hardship. She has unselfishly taken care of famliy and friends along with feeding the neighborhood who ever is hungry. She deals with the stress and violence of the neighborhood everyday. I would love to do something for her for a change and to be able to come home to a peaceful oasis. Thank you for your time and consideration.

  60. Hi,
My name is April Dixon & I am 24 years old & I'm from Stem North Carolina. My father had started building a log cabin a few years prior to me being born. Til this day the log house is still not complete. Here is my story. It all started when I was in 2nd grade back in 2000. We lived in a single wide trailer so it wasn't extravagant but it was our home. It was an ordinary day until on the way home we seen fire trucks near our house & that's when my life along with my family's life had changed forever. The closer we got the more scared I became. Our house was on fire! I remember that day just like it was yesterday. We lost everything except the clothes we had on our backs & each other. That night I remember my mom and dad with my brother & I sitting in our drive way looking as the coals still burning wondering what we were going to do & where we were going to go. We had to live with my grandmother for a few months until my parents thought it would be a good idea for us to buy a camper to park beside the log cabin my father had started building so we could go out to work on it nightly. That never happened; with the stress of loosing everything we had to 4 of us living in a 24 foot long camper to my fathers health going down hill. My father, mother, brother & I lived in the camper for 8 years until my father & mother decided it would be best that they separate due to the living situation. My father is still living in the 24ft long camper all alone at the age of 67 & I would love for him to see the log house he started many years ago be complete. I am now a mother of 2 beautiful girls & happily married. It would be an absolute dream come true to get my parents dream home completed for them! Maybe we could all come together again in one household & be a happy family like we use to be. As a little girl & now as an adult this would be an absolute gift from God & we would be forever greatful.

  63. Hello,
My name is Yolanda. I am writing to you in reference to a dear family member of mine by the name of Tonia B. She is in a great need of a home makeover. Her current living space is a house built around the 1930s. She is living in deplorable conditions. Her porch has fallen in her entire living space is rodent infested and the roof could cave in on her any day.

My family member is disabled! She just under went two corrective eye surgeries, she is in pain management, and has spinal stenosis, just to name a few things. She is considering her options for back surgery at this time.

Tonia B also is a dog lover. She has two large dogs that are like her children. One stays inside currently. I forgot their breeds and they will need a living space as well.

Her home which is located on approximately one acre of land paid for. She desperately needs your help. I fear for her safety not only because she is my relative but because she wants better and don't know what means as to which she may go about that. Please help her get suitable living.

    Sincerely,
    A cry for help!

  65. In a little town in Ohio a boys life was changed. September 1, 2015 Kay Perry was preparing to leave to see her father who was in hospice care. While packing her 16 yr old son came home from school asked his mom for a few dollars so he could go wash his four wheeler at the near by car wash. He first went to the convenient store to get a few things. As he was leaving the store he was struck by a truck. A shop owner near witnessed the accident and ran to the boys aide as he was lying there kicking in pain. The man who ran to his aide kept his head up trying to help him. He was life flighted to the hospital doctors said he would never make it, He wouldn't be anything, he would never be able to do anything, basically he would be in a vegetative state for the rest of his life. They removed his skull, placed a shunt, coils in his spleen, busted jaw and collar bone, left lung deflated, right lung was punctured, right eye had sever damage and losts of nerve damage. They told his mom let him go, don't make him live like this. She asked God to give her a sign that shes doing the right thing by fighting for her son that night she laid her head down on the bed beside him and he placed his hand on hers. She smiled and said God if that's the sign please send me another. The next morning the she was woke by nurses letting her know he was breathing on his own. That's when she knew she did the right thing for sure. Vaughn is now 17 yrs old he is doing much better but still needs a lot of help with everything. Their house is small and doesn't really accommodate his needs. Their bathroom is so small his mom can't give him a proper bath. His wheel chair is really to big for their house. Please help this family

    Thanks
    Vaughns home health aide

  66. Hello!
    We would love your help!
Our home was always my family home. And in 2012 when I was 22 my parents passed away, 3 months apart.
I was left to deal with my parents will and sort out all finances.
My lovely boyfriend moved into my family home to ensure I wasn't alone. We've been trying so so hard to make this home our own but to no avail!
My dad thought himself to be a handy man….unfortunately this wasn't the case. We're now looking at having to have our all our plumbing and electerics re done, an extension needs to be knocked down and re built. There are many internal problems too. The list without a doubt goes on.
We struggle so much with work and looking after our one year old that we simply cannot afford the work needed to be carried out. It's not the safest environment for our little boy and now we worry it may just be better for us to sell our home. I'm not ready to lose our family home. It's all we have left of mum and dad.

  67. Dear Extreme Home Makeover,

My name is Molly Engle. My husband and I live with my family in a neighborhood just outside of Detroit, Mi. We have been married three years. We have a son, Everett, who is 2years old, and I’m due with our daughter this November. My husband is a Detroit Firefighter. It’s a risky and dangerous job, both physically and emotionally demanding. He works in 24hr shifts. His schedule, continually changing between days on and off each week, rotating on what they call a Kelly schedule, is very taxing for both of us. On his off days he’s either sleeping/recuperating, or working hard at his other job cutting down trees. I am proud of my hardworking man. Firefighting has always been a calling of his. It’s sometimes a daily struggle financially and emotionally, but there is peace and joy in knowing that you are doing exactly what you were meant to do, in a city that you love, and that needs dedicated firefighters. He works with a great crew at Engine 1 in the heart of downtown. He is excited to be a part of the groundbreaking restoration and hope that is quickly renovating Detroit. Not getting paid what your job is worth is a constant battle for firefighters, but none of them are in it for the money; they love to serve, and they love to help. I am proud of my husband for following his passion.
I am a current author and former nanny. After finding out we were pregnant with our son, we made the difficult decision to have me stay at home to raise our kids. After years of loving and raising so many other children as a nanny, it was time for me to focus on my writing again and raise my own family. With Andy gone overnight at his job, and balancing his rotating schedule, my consistent and organized presence in the home helps keeps our life ship afloat.
For the past two and half years we were living in a cozy apt in Lake Orion, trying to save money for a house of our own someday. Our dream has always been to own some property, have a barn, a couple dogs, and a cabin in the woods. This is not realistic with our current budget, and being practical people who need to be closer to the city and Andy’s job, we don’t ask for much but a house of our own that we can fix up. That’s about all that we can afford. The current house budget in Oakland County is astronomically out of our budget. We have been looking at all foreclosure and fixer upper opportunities.
With my current pregnancy, I am suffering greatly from Hyperemesis Gravidarum (What Princess Kate made famous during her pregnancy with George). This debilitating sickness caused our family to make the difficult decision to give up our apt lease and move in with my parents in the city of Clawson. I desperately need their support and full-time help as I take care of Everett and Andy continues to work. It has been a blessing, and a challenge. A lot of our dreams and plans have been put on hold. But this is also giving us the opportunity to not go into debt while paying for my new medical expenses. My parent’s house is a small bungalow, and with a babe on the way, the necessity for our own space is increasing. But as I struggle with illness this pregnancy, and understand the challenges of having two children under the age of three very soon, the desire to live close to family has also increased. The opportunity to purchase my Grandmother’s house, 2 blocks away from my parents, suddenly arose. To own a home in this neighborhood would be a huge blessing. The caveat being the amount of work that needs to go into the home to make it livable. With Andy needing to do most of the work himself, the renovations could take years. My Grandmother was a hoarder. My Grandfather passed away in ’99 and her mental struggles with cleanliness and upkeep continued to decrease, while her body remained active. She is now 98 and living at my Uncle’s home. Her house was beautiful in its day. We have a vision for it. But we need help. The home needs updating. With a moldy basement that leaks every time it rains, mountains of paper and trash throughout, a non-functional garage, a dirty and outdated kitchen, and one bedroom shy of our need for our growing family, this house is far from perfect. BUT, with your expert guidance, in coming along-side my husband, offering him the help and support he so desperately needs, we know this house will be perfect for us.
Thank you for considering our plea. Thank you for being a show that we love. Thank you for being a show that offers families like ours hope.

    Molly Engle

Hello my name is Rick my brothers name is Ron him and his wife Eva have have two grandchildren that they are raising and are in school his wife had a stroke A while back now she is paralyzed on her left side and can't do any thing for her self. Thursday night their house burnt thank God no one was injured but there are left without a home and need some help rebuilding The house that they had was not suitable for handicap but the insurance company wants to just remodel it. I would I would like for them to have a house that would be more suitable to the handicap and easier to heat and better for the children. The insurance company said that they could rebuild the house instead of replacing it because it was not totaled they want to strip it completely to the outside walls and redo the whole house but the thing of is that the house was not suitable for handicap and it was hard for my brother to maneuver his wife in and out of the bathrooms and it was a two-story house so he could not get her up to the bedrooms upstairs so he had to make a bedroom downstairs that would be suitable for her condition The house had no air conditioning and and that he cost a fortune in the winter time.
