The Mortal Instruments novel series has sold millions of copies around the world and has been adapted into one feature film and now the version that audiences have been waiting for is here. ABC Family’s Shadowhunters will be rolling in front of cameras and auditions for roles in this outstanding production are set to take place soon.
Shadowhunters will tell the phenomenal supernatural stories of Clary Fray, an 18 year old who discovers that she comes from a long line of human/angel hybrids who hunt down demons, from the debut novel City of Bones through the most recent City of Heavenly Fire and beyond. The series will follow Clary as she learns more about her power and how to harness it as she battles a host of vampires, werewolves and other creatures of the dark.
Katherine McNamara (R.L. Hello my name is Megan and I am 15 years old from Wales. The character I would love to audition for is Cecily Herondale (that is if you ever do The Infernal Devices as a show). I've always loved Will and Cecily and one big reason is that they are both Welsh characters. I am Welsh (I can also speak the language) and it's very rare when two major characters in a NY bestseller are Welsh, and also use the language; so you can image how ecstatic I was when I read the Welsh dialogue. I feel as though no one can play a Welsh character properly unless they are Welsh themselves; as pretty much every Welsh person has a mad, stubborn nature to themselves, which is shown quite clearly through Will and Cecily.
So far I have been in two shows run by my school's drama department that were shown in our local theatre. Because of one of the shows I was allowed to take part in the opening Ceremony of the Eisteddfod ( this big competition in wales that takes place every year. Search it up, it's a pretty big deal here in wales). I also play the piano and the clarinet which I play in the school band.
