My name is Crystal Favre. My husband and I live on the Mississippi Gulf Coast. Like so many others, we lost our home and all of our belongings to Hurricane Katrina. We were blessed to receive an inheritance from an Aunt after Katrina, which is how we were able to put our lives and home back together. We were elated to move into our home after spending more than 2 1/2 years living in a Fema camper. Six months after moving in to our new home, we discovered that it contained Toxic Chinese Drywall. For the past 7 years, we have been waiting on a class action lawsuit. Unfortunately, the Chinese Co. that manufactured this drywall, refuses to pay. People think that New Orleans La was hit the hardest by Katrina, but this is simply not the case. Our little community will never recover from that hurricane. I work full time but it is all I can do to keep up with electronics that continually go out in my house due to the drywall. It is extremely toxic and is making both me and my husband sick. We really want to get it removed and replaced. I'm really not looking to have a completely remodeled house. I can live without carpet and tile. I can even put my old cabinets back in the house. If we could just get the drywall taken out and replaced, all of the electronics would quit breaking. Thank you for your consideration.
Hi everyone, my name is Samantha! I am writing to you about my aunt Aimee Foster. Aimee is the most incredible woman that I know, who thrives from the joy that she brings to others. Aimee was diagnosed with a strong form of breast cancer around 3 months ago, and her upcoming surgery will determine if the cancer will be gone or not. Aimee is a single mother to my two wonderful cousins Ivy and Cole. Her and her husband just went through a tough separation, and that's what makes this all harder. Their home is falling apart, and it's harder and harder for Aimee to do the common household chores that are to be achieved everyday. Aimee is a daycare teacher, and is a proud advocate for our churches charity, "The House of Hope". Aimee is such a strong faithful woman who deserves a new home, a new start. Please please help our family!!!

Hi my name is Shelby and I'm writing in regards to my aunt Lynette. She isn't my biological aunt but I've known her my whole life. Recently she took in her handicapped disabled sister and her house is a raised ranch and isn't wheelchair accessible. Her mother who was terminally ill passed away just a few days ago and I know this would help make her life a lot easier. They have been through so much and I would love to see them get their spirits lifted. Please consider them for the home improvement opportunity! Thank you.
I am writing about my Neice Lynette McGill. She has a home in Hopkinton Rhode Island. It is a raised ranch. Recently her Mom died and she is caring for her Special Needs sister Lisa. Lisa was born with the fibular bone missing in both legs. She is 32 years old and still walking, but with much difficulty. In fact she crawls or walks on her knees much of the time, which is taking it's toll on her knees and hips. She will most likely be in a wheelchair very soon. She already has been fitted to one. Lynette has been struggling for years just to keep her home and and the upkeep on it. She has opened her home to her handicap sister without hesitation to keep her out of group homes. I would love to see her get a make-over so her home could be wheelchair accessible. God Bless you all for all you do, and thank you for your time reading this.
I nominate my father in law for his dream house, he diserves to have his place fixed he cant live in it because it is unlivable from the floors to the roof. he is special to me because he took my husband in as a youth as his own son (no blood relation) , treats everyone like gold and if you need anything he jumps to help just because he wants to. even in his age of 60 taken on 2 toddlers to live with him and his partner. I wish he could be happy in his home again and have something work out for him. He is described as a solid, caring motorcycle enthusiast.

Hello, my name is Melissa Ganoe. Im 38 yrs old and have lost both of my parents. My mother 19 yrs ago and my father a week ago. When I was 13 yrs old my parent's bought our first house. We lived in a mobile home when I was growing up. My dad was an alcoholic and never really cared about anything but himself. This home they bought was an old farm house that set in a middle of a sub division of brick homes. This was the first home ever built in that sub division. It needed some remodeling done on it. My dad did some minor remodeling to it. My moms wishes was to remodel the whole house, but she never got to do it. My mother got sick and had to be put out on disability where she fought for several yrs to get her Social Security Disability. She passed away 6 yrs after she bought this home in June 1995 when I was 19 yrs old. She never did get to remodel her home like she wanted to. I left home after she passed away, where I was on my own. I had two beautiful daughters in the next few yrs after. My dad was still drinking and my brother was an addict and at 40 yrs old still an addict. My father got sick 3 yrs ago with lung cancer, he had surgery and overcome the cancer. In march of 2013 my father started having mini strokes where he had 8-10 within 3 months. I brought him to my home and he lived with me for several months before leaving and moving in with some friends. I live in a Mobile home with my two daughters 14, and 17 yrs old now. Wasn't much room here to provide my father with the proper housing. my mother and fathers home has been vacant for over a year now. My father got sick two months ago and finally agreed to go to the doctor three weeks ago. The admitted my father into the hospital where he stayed and was being treated for pneumonia in his right lung. They thought his cancer had came back and was spreading fast. They released him from the hospital on Sep 17, 2014 and he passed away at my home on Sep 19 2014. I was bringing him back to my house to take care of him but it was too late. my mom and dads house is still setting there with no one living in it. I want to grant my mothers wishes and get this home remodeled so me and my girls can move in it and keep it in the family. Otherwise I will have to sell it and get rid of my mothers only home she ever had. The house needs a lot of repairs just to be able to live in it. Its needs heating source, electric redone, roof, siding and minor repairs in the inside. I really don't want to loose my father and mothers home, but if I cant get it repaired to live in then it will have to be sold. I would like to be nominated to take part in the Extreme Home Makeover and have something to remember my parents by and grant my mothers wishes of having her only home remodeled the way she always wanted it done. Thanks Melissa

I am writing in hopes of getting my home makeover. I have a wall that is lifting off the floor and it has a space where I can fit my fingers under the wall between the floor and wall and an arched doorway with a crack big enough to fit fingers in. It is not a load bearing wall but to remove it I have to rewire electrical and redo all the flooring between the two rooms. Then I have carpet that is lifting in the bedroom and the dogs have begun chewing it and would like to replace with tile. I am a special education teacher and can't afford on my salary to fix these issues. I work so hard for my students to make their lives better I just want to come home to a house without cracks in ceiling and walls lifting. Please help!
Can anyone tell me how I can get help for my son. He's a Veteran, He came back from Iraq and has PTSD. His house caught on fire two months ago. He is trying to put it back together and nothing is being done right. And a very big struggle for him. Some boards are even rotten and should be replaced. Insurance was useless. His house in not livable. He has two children that this is starting to effect emotionally also. He and his family have to stay away from their home till he can get it fixed. its been so hard on him to get things done. To think about it has effected me too, I've been praying for God to help them. No one seems to have time to help out. There is no shower there that is working and no kitchen and no beds to sleep on. I have pictures and video but don't know how to get them to anyone that can come and volunteer to help us put this puzzle back together before Christmas. Will someone respond please? Where can we go to help this family?
Hi my name is celeste and I wanted to share my story with you. I am 24 yrs old and am living with my bf and his family. This family has brought me in like I was their own. This family deserves a beautiful home. This family has been through a lot. This family has suffered for their kids , the mom is most sweetest lady I have met she took me in as her own daughter and does so much for each of her kids and for other kids she takes care of. His dad works in janitoral in swing shift . My bfs parents are co pastors to a church near by and they have helped so many people spiritually. They have also suffered from alcoholism in the family and still pray for those you seek it. This house we live in needs a lot of Renovation done. It has been hard to even do because our incomes it's just my bf and his dad taking care of bills and morgage. I help out with rent and food. We also have two dogs that we love very much. I believe with in my heart that this family deserves so much more ! It's hard but what makes us close is being a family. The parents have sacrificed so much for their kids before they moved to this condo. Before they did love in a one bedroom apt with 7 -8 people in it until 2005-6 I believe. They have come a long way but I really want a miracle for them. Thank you for reading my story . I'm praying and hoping that we make it . God bless you !
My name I katlynn I sent yall a letter to that address yall should be getting it soon it's under the watson and carlisle please help we need ur help please and thank you
I am writing about my daughter Valerie, She is such an amazing person with such a big heart. Valerie is a single mom working 2 jobs raising 4 kids. My daughter has always gone above and beyond for others. She volunteers at the women shelter always find money to donate at least 2 toys to toys4tots at Christmas and is currently coaching her daughter U12 soccer team which she also volunteered for. My daughter has been raising her nephew for eleven years now and just took in his oldest brother whom was kicked out of foster care 3weeks before his 18th birthday. I know it may seem right to kick a young adult out at 18 but he hasn't yet turned 18 and he is still just a junior in high school. Valerie has so much on her plate she can never just turn a child away or anyone whom may need help; her whole belief is "we go be ok", "nobody will be without", "if I got it so do you". She helps feed others when they are in need of food knowing she does not have enough but you wouldn't know that cause that's her. She works minimum wage and has been passed over for promotion several times due to her attendance but it wasn't her fault her be so sick. Her daughters suffer from emotional issues after they dad left, her nephews also struggle with anger and emotional issues but she hasn't given up she still fights making sure they are all making there appointments on time and receiving all the emotional and loving help that they need. Her youngest daughter suffers from sleep apnea and asthma she often goes into work late or has to leave earl due to a flare up at or before school or work. Valerie often neglects her own self due to the children's needs my daughter also suffers from severe anxiety, absent seizures, and migraines. I'm afraid that one day she may go to sleep and not wake up. It's hard for her but yet she manages to keep a smile on her face at least around people who do not her. Raising 4 kids is hard especially when 2 of those kids you didn't give birth to but you can not tell her different cause nobody is ever left out and she treats the all the same. My daughter is currently living in a very small cramped 3 bedroom apt that has a lot of issues. Her kids have no room to play outside, the vents in her apt are always full of dust, she lives on the main floor so bugs get in very easily and yes her youngest daughter is highly allergic to bugs(she swells up) due to her daughter severe asthma her apt has to always be cool or it could cause a flare up. I just wish and pray that she will get the help that she deserves and can use due to her pride she refuses to ask for any type of help so I am asking please help me help my amazing beautiful daughter who deserves the world.

Hello Extreme Makeover Team. This is hard for me to do because I do not want anyone to think I am complaining. I am 31 years old and I am married to the most amazing man. He works for months at a time away from home in the oil field to take care of all of the people in our home. He is a disabled American Veteran as well. Six years ago, his father passed away and then six months later his mother had a stroke that left her completely paralyzed in her right arm and partially paralyzed in her right leg, leaving her wheelchair bound. She also lost her ability to speak. I quit my job, that I had at the time, to take care of her. In the last six years, we have also taken in his Aunt, who found that she has severe arthritis in her arm, both legs and a twisted pelvis, and a long time family friend who has peripheral neuropathy in her legs, leaving her dependent on a walker, and a compromised immune system which makes it very easy for her to get infections. While we appreciate that there are places for the elderly to get care, we also feel that it is our job to care for them as they took care of us, until we are no longer needed. With combining so many households, we also have quite a few pets (9 cats and 2 dogs) that we are not willing to part with. We were doing very well for a while, living as we are, and recently began to purchase a 5-acre parcel of land that we had hoped to build on. Unfortunately, circumstances have arisen that require a couple of years to correct and we thought that we would have a couple of years where we are currently living to get those circumstances taken care of. We were told last week that the owner of the house we are renting is unable to keep paying her mortgage and this house will go up for auction or sale fairly soon. There are few places that allow for even a single pet, let alone 11 pets, with enough space for all of us to live in. Our land has a house on it but it has been gutted making it completely unlivable, and we cannot afford to fix it up and we don't have the time, now, to do so. We are exploring our options at the moment and trying to figure out just how much time we do have and what we can do to find a home for our family, including the furry ones that our hearts cannot part with. I have designed our dream home already but, like I said, it is going to take several years to be able to accomplish this and I have absolutely no idea what the future holds and that scares me. I don't want anyone to feel sorry for me or to pity me because I chose to give my life and my time to this family and I do not regret it. I only regret not being able to provide all that I should and all that I promised to them. I would absolutely appreciate any help that you could be or any suggestions that you could make that would help our circumstances. Thanks so much for providing the services that you do for all of the people who need help. I love to watch your show and often shed a few tears for the families myself wishing that there was some way that I could help also. Thanks so much again.
Hi, My name is Dee Anna Howard , I am writing your show on the behalf of my mother, Louise Charlton! She has presently inherited my grandma's house! And it needs alot of work done to it! I came back to take care of my mom and dad because they both are really sick! My mom is suffering from MS, slowly loosing her ability to walk, slowly getting dementia, has seizures and takes meds totaling over 400.00! They are on a set income and really can't afford the up keep of the house!!!! By the time she pay the bills she has no money. The bathroom in the house is so bad that there is a bad odor all threw the house 🙂 I think it's making the whole house smell! I am asking to please my parents. I would like for my mother to not have to worry about anything, cuz that can cause the seizures and could possibly speed up the dementia! Thank you for your time
My name is Keishanna Hughes and I am a Program Director at St. Georges Community Center in Louisville Kentucky which is labeled one of the most vital neighborhoods in Louisville Westend. We serve at risk youth from grades 4th through 12th and provide food to at least 5000 families a year through our food pantry. St. George's reopened it's doors in 1964 due to the repetitive break ins it encountered from the youth because they just wanted a place to play basketball and feel safe. So A Cathedral Chapter and some Episcopal church members got together and agreed to oversee the property for the remainder of the year, and the doors have been opened every since. There has been no renovation to the building it still is in very old conditions with roofs leaking, walls cracking, mold growing great space that can't be used based on the reconstruction that needs to be done, old computers. But we still happily operate for the community Monday-Friday by serving hot meals to our youth daily, offering mentor programs, tutoring services, college readiness, and leadership development with only a small lobby area and a gym that still looks as if it could be in the magazine from 1964.I am a single mother of four teenagers ages 15,16,17 and 18 and I came into the community a lost high school dropout with no hope for myself and if it wasn't for the support, training, and empowerment that was given to me through community organizations I don't know where I would be. I've only been here since April 2014 but I am proud to finally find a place that is truly passionate and safe for our kids and that is helping them become sufficient adults. St. Georges is a diamond in the ruff and it has all the right staff on board now all we need is help to enhance the facility so we can continue the work the God has called us to do and give the community what it needs. EXTREME Makeover we desperately need your help to continue this very important and vital initiative.

Hello, my name is Adam Malone. I am an elementary SRO that serves the children of North Charleston and Ladson and would like to request the help from you. On July 23, 2008 a wonderful boy named Tyler Capers who at the time was 9 yrs old while crossing the busy street of Ladson Rd. was struck by a car killing him as the motorist continued to drive away. The suspect in this hit and run is still at large. This tragedy has flipped this family upside down as it would anyone in this situation. Another young girl was hit near the same spot but thankfully survived. Tylers mother Lucille Capers has been since her son was killed trying to raising money to build a community center for their neighborhood as they do not have one. She feels that if Tyler had a community center to hang out at or play basketball at he would not have been trying to cross the street that day as and the same for the young girl as well. She would like to see this community center become the gathering place for the youth and families. It would also serve as a center for youth summer camps, mentoring programs, team leaderships, and afterschool programs for parents that cant afford traditional after school care. This neighborhood is in a real need for change. It is a lower income area and I think that a community center would breathe life back into this area. My division in the police department is all about working with kids and giving them the chances that they would otherwise not have. I really want this for this family and for the community. Please help anyway you can.
I'm Angel Kistler and I am putting in a request to have one of our hometown bowling alleys rebuilt. Last November Kokomo Indiana health was hit by 3 tornadoes on the mid south of town. My daughters bowling ally was hit along with the neighborhood next to it, in which her friend's house was one in the same area. My daughter and her some of her friends have been bowling there since they were young. Kokomo Sport Bowl has been a home away from home for many of the kids I know who bowl there. After the tornado damage the kids went back in and helped clean up debris as soon it was safe to let them. Kristin is my daughter she is 16 now but I am proud of what she and her friends did too help. The news casted live here and here for several weeks showing the devistation these tornadoes caused. I work at Chrysler and our UAW hall is still being rebuilt due to being destroyed. So everywhere around the areas hit are slowly either being rebuilt or torndown. My sister works at Moore title company and they were finally able to move back in over the summer.Due to unknown financial reasons the roof has not been able to be fixed, nor has some of the mechanisms and interior things been able to be replaced. I hope that you read this story, because right now my children's place of recreation is in dire need of a miracle to stay open. My daughter bowls for Kokomo HS. She and my 6year old son bowl on the Saturday league there. My oldest son Micah who has high functioning Aspergers Syndrome bowled there from the age of 6 to the age of 17. He's now 23. It helped him become more social with others throughout those years. There's no judgment among kids in bowling because it's their own personal best that counts along with their team. Once again this place has been a lifesaver for my children and others as well, who may not be great at the normal sports, baseball, basketball, and football, etc. Thank you.

Hello my name is Shalandria (Shay) Im writing this for my mother and her sisters an brother. My grandfather was raised in this house. It was built in 1954. When my grandfather, grandmother passed she left him this house. Which my mother and her siblings were raised in the house. I myself was raised in my grandfather house as well me and my siblings. We had have so many great memories of this house. Alot of the other houses on my grandfather street were torn down. However, my grandfather home is still holding on. This home kept our father together. Until 2 years ago my grandfather passed and left to my mom and her siblings. Ever since then our family have falling apart. My mother and her siblings have debated on selling the house but could never come to an agreement. I know if my grandfather was still leaving he would want to fix this house up and have family gatherings every week. AGAIN, this house has kept us together. I hate to see my mom cry because all she want it her siblings to keep this house, and fix the house up for her siblings and all the kids and grandchildren. I feel like this something we have left from our generation and it should be kept for a lifetime. We have tried to fix the house, but, there has been alot of mold, the house isnt leveled, no vents in the house, the whole house is terrible now. I pray that God can help first bring our family back together and get this house fixed so we can all be a family again, because this what my grandfather would want. He didn't want the house to be sold, he wanted us to keep this house..this is all we have to share as a family. Please help us bring our family together by fixing up our HOUSE…

I am Marcie, I watch your show all the time, and think that the families that you help are so lucky!! I am writing for your HELP….well really for MY SISTER. I think she's one of the strongest women that I know, she's been through some really hard times. She was born with ' Neurofibromatosis', and she has had many surgeries for this. She was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2008, she pulled through it, and thought she was free from it, and in 2011 it came back and metastasised to STAGE IV. She went through chemo and radiation treatments ,(they looked like 3rd degree burns on her shoulder and that looked so bad it scared me!), it was hard for her but she never let me see that it was, last year she had a PET SCAN, it showed NO cancer but she's still taking chemo treatments. She just had surgery on her right foot to remove a fibroid, she has been so DEPRESSED because she CAN'T WALK on her foot, she actually was already suffering from depression,(she goes to a senior program, and it helps), but lately, she hasn't been able to go because of her foot. I told her to hang in there, she doesn't know that I'm writing to you, we have put so much into our house and it seems like the more we do the worser it gets. You can actually see outside in my sister's shower, and it rains in her closets, the house is sinking in the back yard,(foundation unleveled), cracks are running across the ceiling and OPENING, and the floor is developing humps in it…….PLEASE HELP US!
My mom and dad have a house well a double wide and they are all by there selves and they are hurting for money the ceilings are falling in and the floors need to be replaced the plumbing needs to be replaced as well it would be a godsend to have their house remade where it's livable and don't have to worry about the floors caving in and the ceilings dropping on them

I am so afraid that these windows are going to come down on one of their little hands. My basement leaks water everywhere.. My garage is dirt floor and is so small. My husband likes to build things. I would love for him to be able to have his own space. We have had a lot of ups and downs but we get through because we are a strong family. Please Help!!!

Dear awesome people from extreme home makeover,
My name is angel Torres I'm 22 years old an living a hard life right now. The life that I never thought would fall in place from also leaving my past behind. I'm here to ask for the biggest blessing ever, I'm from pasadena, Texas and staying with my grandparents my grandma being age 73 and my grandfather being age of 72 we are living in a house that is falling apart. It's slowly going down an been needing the help. Need the help because it's been a while for me to get my life on track but now I have finally made that change and I would love to show my grandparents a beautiful home where they don't have to argue no more just because where we are staying at and what we are staying in, yes it's a home but it's not a loved home when it's falling apart. It's to much for me to afford or repair. I'm trying my best to get into college to better myself an give them the happy life so they can enjoy while they can. My grandmother has fought breast-cancer an my grandfather has fought kidney-cancer an now fighting diabetes. Our home is not happy, when I seen your show on tv I thought to myself maybe this is it, so here I am is just asking for a change in my life, please if you could give us that help to live a happier life. I'm about to go star school soon hopefully we are just living off what we have. Thank you if you paid attention to my help cause it could change part of our life. God bless you all for the impacts on others! Prayers
Hello our names are Natasha and Cristhian. This message is in regards to an investment property that my fiance and I recently purchased. There are 4 units, all of them had major issues regarding sanitation, bugs for days especially units a and c and very mean tenants in units b and c whom we evicted which took us 4 months to do and which was also very scary at times because they were not good people who lived in the property for 4 months without paying rent. There is mold inside the cabinets that we did our best to remove. There was a break in today at unit d thank God no one was hurt. My fiance and I have been doing everything we can to make this property liveable and safe for our tenants. We have been behind on our mortgage since we obtained the property and are still in debt $7,000 plus. It is frustrating to have more and more issues arise when all we want to do is be able to pay our bills and take care of all remaining issues for our tenants to live comfortably. As of right now unit a has a very bad bed bug and roach infestation that our tenant said has been going on for 3 years now and we've only had the property for 8 months. We can't even stand to walk into our tenants house because we are concerned we will bring bugs back to our car and home. We are 23 and 25 years old and want our dreams to come true of being self employed and owning many other homes because we feel that we can be the best and most caring landlords ever. We have done so many improvements such as change bathroom floor in 3 of the units that were rotten and wreaked with mold and water leakage. There's many more things that we fixed as well. We fortunately have all 4 units rented but our tenants call us with problems arising at least twice a month. We would not only be thankful if our property was chosen for a makeover but like we mentioned above, we would be the happiest and best landlords ever! We look forward to meeting you!
Hi, my name is Rachel Davis. About a year and a half ago my husband started suffering from mental illness, we have 2 boys one just turned 18 and one just turned 5. We have been remodelling our house to make it our home, but with everything that has happened I live in a home with unfinished projects, and with medical bills that are piling up no money to finish them. I have struggled to keep my boys safe and trying to help doctors figure out what mental illness my hysband is suffering from, it just hit him rather quickly. I am not one to ask for help in any kind of way, I always try to figure it out on my own. If you can help in any way please I need it. Thanks
Hi, I am writing on behalf of my father. He just turned 55 and is a proud retired Vet. He is such a strong man and a very hard worker. He came into our lives 22 years ago and took on the responsibility of raising my brother and I plus his 2 children. He has taught me everything I know in life including how to be strong like him. He was recently diagnosed with COPD a week ago and today just found out his lungs are in the severe stages. He is worried because since he is a pipe fitter and can no longer work due to the environment how he is going to maintain his house. There are several risks with his house that can cause his lungs to flare up including mold. They are at risk for losing the house if they don't get these issues resolved. My dad has been my encouragement throughout my life, and has worked so hard to give us this home. We are in desperate need of help, even if it is a prayer or blessing we would rally appreciate anything at this point! Thanks so much

Hello, I am asking for a miracle for my brother, Joey a single father raising his 4 year old son. Joey bought a couple beautiful treed acres with what I've been told is a sturdy home on 2 acres for himself and his now 4 year old son, Jonas, to fix and live in after he was able to "fix" it. At this point it's down to the studs inside but is still unlivable. Joey and Jonas live in a 32 ft trailer on the property when weather permits, otherwise they spend nights with limited family members in the Atlanta area…and when they can not reach them they have resorted to going to a warming shelter. Brother Joe has worked hard on the property to get it to the point it is. He has also worked extremely hard in other peoples lives, he and his son have been involved in volunteer work in the cancer and heart wards of children's hospitals for a couple of years now, providing friendship, fun and laughter to some very sick children. Joey has always been a fun loving, live life to the fullest, big hearted and generous person. Right now he is now the one in need of extended brotherhood…Joey was recently diagnosed with stage 4 Lymphoma Cancer (non-hodgkins) and started his treatment a couple of weeks ago. Joey will not be able to continue working at his own concrete company, nor be able to continue work on the home he so hoped to provide for Jonas. There have been a couple of benefits for him in the Atlanta area and massive amounts 200+ people each event has turned out to support him, if we all could touch the lives of 1/2 that many people we would be so lucky. I assure you to have an incredibly fun, touching and worthy experience working with Joey and his friends and family. In addition, you will have plenty of muscle round the clock to help with whatever needs you have. Please consider my baby brother and little Jonas for your show…he would give his last breath (we don't want him to do that) trying to provide a place where he and his son could just "be home" and a place where they can just "relax" for once. We know that he's not the kind of person to give up and stop trying to provide this home for Jonas and hope you guys can help him so he can relax and kick cancers butt instead of his own. I told him I was going to do this and he and I both thought we could totally see this happening in his life and we hope we are right. Thank you and we hope Ty Pennington can come to his home town area and perform his magic, which would be a miracle for us and we hope a lifesaver for brother Joe.
Hi my name Rachel. I'm writing this for Carla May, my Memaw. she is not my biological grandmother, but she is an angel, she has always taken me in and clothed me when she had no clothes to give, and fed me when I was hungry though she had no food to give, I'm only one of many many people she has taken in over many yrs. Right now she has 6 of her grandchildren. Amelia, Jacee, Benjamin, Niysah, Jacob, and Isaiah. Niysah is the middle child and is autistic. Niysah will never graduate from school, or go to collage. She will never get married and have children, or be able to live on her own. Because of the time and cost of taking care of these 6 kids and all of niysah's medical expenses, she cannot fix her home. The floors are sinking and have holes in them. They all have to share the same bathroom the bathroom sink does not work anymore and the floor is giving way. The sceptic is backing up into the yard. The kitchen sink leaks. The knobs on the tub are broken, so when someone needs a shower or bath, memaw has to get the plyers. These kids are my brothers and sisters. They need their home remodeled. Will you please do this for them.

My name is Fred Settle. I am a 30-year old husband and father of 6 children, as well as a Veteran of the United States Air Force. I know there are people that are always worse off, and I always do what I can to help others, even if I am in need. I bought a house in 2012, and although it's a pretty big house, six children fill it up very quickly. I am a very proud individual, and I don't like to have to ask for help…so this is a big step for me. I tried to open my own business earlier this year, and it's going o.k., but it takes time to get to the point of financial stability. In the mean time, the little income that my business is producing pays the mortgage, utilities and groceries…and that's about it. My three older children live in the attic, which was converted into a bedroom so we'd have enough room. A big problem is that the house is so old that the duct work doesn't keep it heated well in the winter, and it gets so hot in the summer, that the girls can't even sleep up there. Also, the attic has knob and tube wiring, and if I could afford new insulation I would be afraid to put it in because of the fire hazard that could create.
On the second floor, my other three kids, including our 6-month old baby, and my wife and I live in the other bedrooms. They are small, and only two rooms have a closet, which are almost too small to hang clothes in them. The walls are all plaster, which is cracking. We tried to paint the walls but because of the severe temperature fluctuations from winter to summer, the wall just keep cracking. The upstairs bathroom actually leaked down through the dining room about 3 months after we bought the house, and we couldn't afford to fix the problem, so we shut the water off in the upstairs bathroom, and now only have one bathroom. The one bathroom is on the main floor, and only has a tub, no shower. One bathroom for eight people (six of them being my wife and five daughters) is rough…and will only get harder as they get older. The dining room ceiling still wears the water stains from the leaking upstairs bathroom because we couldn't afford to replace the drywall. The dining room is actually the only room in the house that has drywall in it, and it is actually ruined! The kitchen is very outdated with an old stove, refrigerator and cabinets. My wife, God Bless her heart, painted the cabinets and walls and put up laminate tile on the walls to serve as backsplash. It looks a million times better and that honestly made her year! It's hard for her to cook for all of the kids with one range top and oven, and our fridge is so old and small that we run out of room. The foundation is sandstone, which is crumbling and has many holes in it. I worry about it because the walls in the basement are starting to bubble inward some. We get water in the basement too, which concerns me because of the risk of mold. Our back yard is empty, minus a small burn pit area where we sometimes have a fire with marshmallows for the kids. It just doesn't look like the back yard of a house with six kids. The back porch is starting to dry rot, and that's bad for two reasons: it's obviously unsafe, and I store the push mower and a few tools under there. Our living room is so small and we have a really old, hand-me-down couch and chair that doesn't even fit all of the family for our family movie nights. Most people would probably say that we have too many kids for our means, but we had started growing this family when our financial situation was far greater than this, and we couldn't afford to build a new house big enough at that time, so we bought the biggest house we could afford and we just give it to God and get by.
Aside from all of this, my wife and kids never complain about the house, aside from it being too hot in the summer and certain rooms get really cold in the winter. This isn't for me. As a former military member, I can get by in harsh conditions. But with all of the support and love that my wife and kids bring to our family…they just deserve better. I work so many hours and try so hard to get ahead and make things better for them and it just seems like every time I get to a point where I can do something to try to improve the house, something else comes up. It's stressful, and it sometimes interferes with my ability to be a better husband and father because I get worn down from working so much.
I said earlier that I know there are always people worse off than my family and I are. I understand that it's a long shot, considering how many applications you receive. Having said that, I want to say thank you for taking the time to review my comment, and for even considering me for this blessing that you all provide to families everywhere. Thank you for what you do!
Need your help!
Hi!
My name is Brittany Aldridge. I live in a small community called Ingrams Mill right outside of Olive Branch Mississippi. I live here with my husband, four year old son, 4 month old daughter, and my mother also lives with us. We live in a barely three bedroom house with four people so our youngest Lyla doesn't have a room because my
Mom had no where to go so we opened our home to her. The house was built in the 60's by my husbands great grandparents. The floors in multiple spots are falling in, and the ceiling in the bathrooms are caving in also. The house does not have central heat and air so we use window units and space heaters. We also can't put silver wear in the drawers because the mice are so bad. There was mold in the back of the house also.
I am a teachers assistant at Chickasaw Elementary in Olive Branch and want to become a teacher someday. I don't make a lot of money there but LOVE what I do because I've literally helped kids learn to read. It's just so fulfilling. I really just want to not have to worry about my floors caving in, or the ceiling falling down on one of my kids. I don't want to have to worry about mold or gas leaks like we had last year. I want my kids to all have their own room and my mom to not feel like she's in the way. I want to put my silver wear in a drawer where they belong. Just the little things like people taken for granted. If you would please give us a chance we would appreciate it.
-the teacher that just wants a chance.
The structure that my partner is currently living in,IS NOT livable any more her MOM tried &tried she left it to her I won't shower there the house is sinking there IS BLACK MOLD…VARMITS in the roof. Tree that ha fallen on back porch dead tree that is about to fall foundation that is BAD …
. She won't let me move stuff. Makes her more depressed. PLEASE HELP‼‼‼‼❗❗❗❗
I am from small town in Texas. Early around 7 am Sunday the 21st our only Elementary school caught fire. We have a total of 460 children in our elementary prek thru 5th grades. This fire was so hard to put out because our firefighters have never had this kind of craziness before. They had to tear down a wing of our school 3rd through 5th to stop the flames. The rest of our school is still severely damaged with smoke and water. To the point that it may not be salvageable. There are so many memories in this small town elementary school. No one was hurt, thank u Jesus, but years and years of teachers and students things were destroyed. This school has been here since my dad attended. My kids go here and so did I when I was younger. It is very devastating and is really hurting us. But as a community we have all gotten together to try and fix this. This town is so God loving that we believe out of the ashes will come beauty. God is still allowed in our schools and will be. I didn't know where to go or who to ask. This fire only destroyed material things but this is our kids future. As of now school is out the rest of the week to figure out what were going to do. Please if you can help our small town or even let us know someone who can would also be great. Was worth a try. I am not teacher but am a parent who hurts for all the faculty. Thanks for listening and we have tons of pictures if you would like to see. Thank you and God bless!
Hey,
I'm a 15 year old girl trying to help my single dad of 4 children, my little sister is 11,my little brother is 9, & my older sister is 18, but she no longer lives with us. & the reason why I believe he deserves a new home for his family is because, he's been a single dad for almost 4 year. The reason why my mom is not spoken of is because she tried to kill my dad in a house fire in 2011 & on Apr 26 my mom was taken to jail, & she's still not out. & the house that we're certainly live at in is another house my mom has attempted to set on fire the same night she has burnt my grams house down, (that's where my dad was staying at the time.) & I feel this hour is making me depressed because sometimes I can still smell the smoke from the basement, because that where my mom has tried to set the fire, but gratefully the water pipes have broke that we're in the basement & put the fire out. The kitchen floor has spots of black on them from the fire that was below.
On top of all that I have tried to comment suicide on 5/14/14,because of the stuff with my mom that has happened & I just felt so alone ever since she's been gone, it's just I felt like I was so young to be dealing with all this & I felt like it would be so much earlier for my dad to only raise 2 kids instead of 3, because at that time my dad has lost his job an I nee how much it is to raise 1, & to raise 3 kids on you're own must be too much, & I want my dad to know that I have not tried to do that because of him, it's just so much has happened on almost the past 4 year of my life I think we just need a beginning, & if you guys do this for us this will be the New begging we've been asking & praying for, for such a long time.
I'd love this to also be a big surprise to my father.
Please return to this. Thanks Ty!
Hello, I'm writing in the hopes for a home make over, my home was built in 1919 and is made of stucco, The stucco is falling off the back, ceiling's are cracking and falling out all plaster, the basement leaks. I'm 39 and have worked since I was 15 providing for my family, now I've hurt my back and can't afford to get anything done or even pay the bills. It's hard day to day knowing you can't do anything like you use to. I pray everyday for the hope to get my back surgery done been almost a year and I hate I can't do the things with my daughter's that I use to. Please help me to make this home a HOME. I struggled to get this house in 2006 and I pray I don't lose it, my fiance works hard to pay the bills but him alone doesn't quite get it. It's hard. Everything is falling apart, the shed out back is rotting away and the fence is falling down around my house…PLEASE HELP…Thanks. and God Bless!

Hi. My name is Stacie. I am a 31 year old wife and mother of three. I am submitting this application on behalf of my family. After reading numerous applications from many deserving people, I realize that there are people who have it worst than me and I am blessed. We live in Memphis, TN in a rental. We have moved three times in the past three years; downsizing each time. We have done away with luxuries such as cable in order to save money for a home. My husband is 60 years and he is the hardest working person that I have ever met. He works in construction. When work became scarce here in Memphis a year ago he was forced to follow the work. He ended up St Louis, MO. He is four hours away from the family and it is rough not having him with me, but I know he is doing what he has to do. I am disabled, but I do what I can to help. All of our sacrifice paid off! We saved enough to buy a home! The house is in Jackson, TN. That is 1 hour 15 minutes away from Memphis. We knew the house would need repairs, but its worth it considering we paid cash and own it free and clear. As we began our repairs four months ago we realized there was more work than we had anticipated. Some of the floors were rotten and needed to be replaced. After pulling up carpet we noticed that some if the flooring is uneven. There was a water leak in the basement and some electrical issues. There is a good amount of wood that needs to be replaced. I got a part-time job at a hotel in Jackson, thinking we would be living there soon. It is obvious to us that we will not be able to live in our home for quite some time. I drive 1 hr 15 min to work two days a week. This defeats the purpose of working because I use a good bit of my check for gas money. Property tax time is around the corner. It has been a real test for us. We relished in the thought of not having to pay rent. We figured we could use that money to pay off our vehicles and fix the house even more. Now we not only have rent to worry about; but home insurance, property taxes, utilities for the home we live in, utilities for the home we own and partial utilities and rent for the apartment in St Louis that my husband share with roommates. It would be so wonderful to finally be able to live in the home that we have dreamed about. If you could help us to finally make this house a home it would be greatly appreciated.
My family and I really need help to get back on our feet and need help to get my grandmothers house improvement really hope that you can help us.
May 2014 my home of 26 years caught fire and i lost everything i owned. Been having to move around staying here and there with others. I feel so out of place and don't have any help. Can you help me?
This is about a double Blue Star Mom who uses a Service Dog. Her trailer isn't in that great shape she has 3 Irish wolfhound service dogs and a few others. Kathy was a USAF wife, and now has 2 sons in the Air Force. She has a barn to house the larger dogs, but it too needs repair. Kathy is the founder of Salute of Service, to help Veterans train their own Service dogs. The numbers are are too high. 22 a day doesn't sound like much, but just counting from post 9/11 that adds to over 102,700. Since 9/11. Service dogs save lives. Kathy is a wonderful trainer a cross of your favorite Aunt and a Drill Instructor. She cares and has wept tears of joy and sorrow, helping our Veterans. Which she has been doing all out of pocket. Fundraising is difficult, I do what I can but I have no experience in that. But if I can help Kathy by having her live in a solid home, and a couple out buildings to have safe space for the dogs in her care, and a safe space to hold classes for our Vets in inclement weather then my mission had been accomplished. My Erin saves my life everyday. I hope you can help Kathy and SOS save more Veterans.
Thank you for all you do.

Hi, my name is Shondria and I'm sending this to seek assistance for my family. Our family home has been in our family for quite sometime now. The 3 bedroom 1 bath home was built by my great grandfather and my uncle for my great grandmother who was the mother of children 11 children. Not only was some of her children birthed in the home, but some grandchildren and great grand children as well. This is the home where everyone gathered on all Holidays sleeping over one another in beds, on pallets on the floor, throughout the living room as well as the dining room. My mom not only inherited the home, but the taxes as well. My dad has served his country and due to his health is now on a fixed income. My mom left her fulltime job to care after an elderly family member and neighbor. When family members are going through tough times in their life she always open the door and take them in. There's 8 of us in the home now. My parents and my family of 6. The home is not stable to live in, bathroom caving in, floors through out the home has already caved in, leaks inside when it rains and in certain areas you're on the inside looking out. If there's anything that you can do to help out, please do so……..

Hello everyone,
My name is Anthony King. I'm a 23 year old vet. I'm not asking for you guys to help me. I am not even sure you can help with what I'm asking, but my church need your help. United Church of the Valley in Murrieta, California is a barely surviving church. They were a thriving church at the end of 2007. They bought a huge space of land to build a new permanent place for the church, and even broke ground on it but then the contractors price kept going up. The budget just went through the roof and the church lost everything. The still own the land, but there is no building. THey lost the rental space they had and are now borrowing a space for services. The plan came crashing down when the crash happened in 2008. Since then they have lost much of the people that went to the church. They went from almost 200 attendees on sundays to about 60. There is just no enough space in the building they are borrowing to hold that many people on sunday. We need a new space to worship. United Church of the Valley is a progressive christian community. They dont care what color you are, if you are gay straight or still figuring it out. No matter what religion and where you are on lifes journey you are welcome. They are a wonderful bunch of people who have never asked for anything. I would love to see this church thrive again. Please if you can help my church. Thank you so much!!
Sincerely,
Anthony King
Hello, I'm janae wilson I am 16 years old and am asking if you could help my family finish our house. We have 1 room in the entire house which is the bathroom which all five of the us use.We live on my mom's family land on the reservation in navajo,NM.We originally lived in Gallup, NM but moved due to bankruptcy and the for closure of our house so we decided to move into our current house which was given to my mom by her uncle. We've been be struggling for 5 years to get the house finished. But we simply can't afford it. So we've kinda stopped trying, even though it's such a struggle every day to get dressed with the lack of privacy and no rooms. We have sheet rock dividing our "spaces" and have been living like this for a while. My dad which has been our carpenter and builder of everything has recently been hsving worsening back pain due to his surgery 16 years ago and find ourselves having to pay another surgery and probably not getting our house done.I wasn't going to apply cuz my mom always told me there are people with worse problems than us and we should be thankful and God I am but it gets difficult and hard to get around with no rooms and room…it's so crowded in our house and find it so hard to keep it clean. And My also mom watches these makeover shows 24/7 and says how she wishes she could give us that. And I have given up a lot on hoping every year we might actually start working on it but financially we aren't able to and things keep coming up its been 5 years sense I had a room and wish so much that I could again .I have 2 more years till college and I don't think I'll have a room before then but if you guys could help us just maybe I could have a finished house and my parents wouldn't have to worry because they try so hard and want us to have our own rooms but we just can't and aren't able to make it happen they've worked hard and I don't want to see them struggling anymore so with your help xtremehome you could help me and my family, the wilsons. I pray so much to have our house done and to have this dream come true would be so great and wonderful, it would be my prayers answered and would be such a miracle so please xtremehome consider my family we've gone through a lot and I'm just so tired of not having a home i can finally say home. Please and thank you so much for taking the time to read my comment and thank you for your consideration
Sincerely janae wilson
Hello, xtremehome makeover I'm 16 years old and am facing difficulties with living with my house that has 1 bathroom which is the only room in my house…my family moved to my families land on the reservation in navajo new Mexico 5 years ago due to bankruptcy. we were forced to leave basically and so we decided to move to this old house one of my grandpa's had given my mom and we had plans to work on it year after year but not being able to afford to finish it let alone put rooms up has led to 5 years of still not having a room of my own…I had to leave my only home i grew up in and in hopes of a new start ….however my parents haven't been able to finish our house and I know it's hard for them because they try hard and they just want to give us a home to call our own with rooms of our own…my dad also has struggled with his back due to a major back surgery which is affecting him now 16 years later and it would be too much of a risk to work on anything which is another thing my parents have to worry about….I've always thought of trying this and just thought that we were blessed with what we had and that others with bigger needs deserved this but I'm fed up with the struggle, the stress it puts on my family and I know my mom of all people wants her house finished and it sucks cuz she is always watching makeover shows and is always talking about how she wished she had our house like the ones on TV…anyways I just would really love and pray that we could receive some help I've given up on all hopes that we could have our house done with actual walls and doors and not just sheetrock dividing our spaces up and this is kind of our/ my only hope I want my parents to have one less thing to worry about because they have gone through so much and have been trying so hard to make us happy…I hope you can consider us the wilson family because we would so much appreciate this…it would be our prayers answered and it would be quite frankly a miracle I just ask you so much to consider us please and thank you so much for taking the time to read my story.
Sincerely janae wilson
