  2. Well hello and good day. Im seeking to become a candidate for the EXTREEEEME Home makeover recipient. I have owned my home since 2001, In my name. BUT I was literally born and raised in this house. My grandparents house. It was sold to me in an open mortgage and we have cleared everything up 2011. My grandmother is 90 1/2 and I entertain just as she did for my 50 years. This is the 50th year here. My grandfather never upgraded A THING, band aided it up. He passed in 1990 and 'MOMA" band aided things too. So now Im stuck with major issues that I cant fulfill..Im not ever selling this house, ever!!!!I love this home, its me and Edward and memories for my family. I just want to get this to where we are comfortable and not worrying. I willing to let you all do what you do best. MAKEOVER.. I have brilliant ideas for my home but cant execute them. Its weeds and no closets, no central air, and im almost 50 for God sake, IM HOTTT.
So if you can please check my home out and give me a chance, I bet you I will qualify. For my Family!!!! and Me!!!! Thanks for reading. Lauren

She now lives with me at my fathers house which is being forclosed upon within thw next few months. My dad grew up here, so did his dad, and so on and so on. My great- grandmother lived here before us and raise all of her 9 children here. My great-grandmother died and left the house to us. This house is very old and is decaying as we speak. However, this house means a lot to our family. My father is trying to keep the house im good condition but it's a struggle. I'm only a sophmore in high school that is trying to help my family and my house. Thank you for listening…..

  7. Hello, My name is Kimberly Draeger I'm 44 years of age. I'm a single parent of 3 wonderful boys. Karter and Kyler who are 9 identical twins and Konner 6. We live in Scio, Oregon.
About 3 years ago my husband of 24 years of marriage fell and hit his head. It changed him so much he let go of the life we had and he no longer lives with us.
I went back to work trying to keep the children and i going. I had to move out of are home to try and rent it out to make the house payment. But was not abel to get renters to rent the large home so the home is up for sale.
In this the 3 boys and I haves moved out to the family land in Scio where there is a 2 bed room trailer on the land. This trailer was movers here to keep the land title open for a home to be on the property the trailer is a 1972 model double wide. It was not meant to be lived in. It has mold and rats and I have been very sick from this home. The twins have had breathing problems asthma Konner who never has had asthma has started getting it . This only happens in the winter. If you could help my children and I please.
I moved the boys here for the school. it is a wonderful small town of 790 population. With a loving community. The town boys and girls club is in need of a make over. The spots program is what the town has going for it but need more the kids go to a trailer in town for the boy and girls club. The town of Scio, Oregon is very small. There is Main Street we have one store and one strip of businesses the building is over 100 years old. The community wants to keep it as a old western town or Logging town. It's a beautiful town.
    Thank you. Kimberly Draeger

  9. Hi! My name is Stacee and I am submitting for two the most deserving people I know! My mom and dad. Todi and James O'Dell have been together for more that 26 years. They have me and my step brother. (moms son from previous relationship).
So why am I submitting them? Well, they both work so hard but never seem to make leeway on bills, life, and their dream home. They have building their dream home for well over 9 years. All's that there is basement walls….
Lack of money and people always screwing my dad over. He is one of the nicest people you'll ever meet and peopletake advantage of that. 3 steps ahead, 2 steps behind it feels.
They always but others first before themselves, even their dream of New house…
Now if you were to come to help give my family their dream home. It would me the world to me. Please help me give them the opportunity live this dream. Please and thank for reading this and for at least considering.
    Stacee , Mi

  10. Hi,my name is Chamir Little.I am applying for my mom and two young children. The current living situation is HORRIBLE.The electrical system is terrible. The sewer is just as bad.My mom for years had taken care of her mother whom had a stroke seven years ago.She spent her days going to work and trying to care for her mom.She just could make ends meet to help care for her grandchildren. It has been hard for my mom.She recently was hit with the terrible strike of losing her mother on August 22,2014.Whose dying wish was for my mom to have a better home for her and the kids.
It would mean so much if you could help my mom with a home. The house is literally ran by extension cords. The wiring is very faughlty and dangerous.I fear for her and the kids.We are using fans to try to keep cool in this sweltering heat. And will do the best to stay warm using kerosene when the harsh winter does arrive. While my mom is working very hard, she still cant afford to do better. So please please will you find it in your heart to help my mom and fulfill my grandmothers final wish for a new home. You are our last resort. Please be our earth angels and help us.Thanks so much for all I know you are able to do.
    Sincerely Chamir Little.

  11. Hello, My name is April. We come from a very small town and dont really have any money to do anything. We have worked hard and gotten nowhere. We have four children in our home ages 6, 12, 14, &17. I went back to college and got my CNA but it hasnt helped our family much my husband has two replaced diskes in he back and works though temp agances just for us to get by. Our home is in real need of repair. our home is actually 2 trailors bolted together to make a homemade doublewide. the place wasnt put together correctly so it does have some leaks. We save enough money for a tin roof but had to put it on ourself. with my husbands back the tin roof is up there but not complete. The floors are bad, some of the ceilings are missing and most of the walls need repaired. We need new duck work under this place because the old doesnt work, so at this time we have one small ac and a small wood stove for the winter, but its just not enough. We are just a typical family but really need help that we cant seem to find. The plus in all this is that we do own the property.. As long as we can keep up the property tax, lol. We just want a nice home for our kids to call home.. thank you for hearing us..

  12. Hi there. My name is zach and I'm from a family of 3 brothers. It's been rough in our family the last 5 months. I had just recently gotten out of the United States Army. And came home to my family in ruins. My dad had gotten into a really bad motorcycle wreck in Tennessee. And has been in the hospital for going on 5 months. He is therapy now and regaining his abilities to walk slowly but surely. My dad was the primary income in there house and now we have came across a monster delima in the road between hospital expenses and trying to make our house handicap abled there is no affording it. The longer we keep my dad in a therapeutic hospital the more we pay and it's just a down word spiral. My mom and dad home is in complete disorder they had the septic tank back up into the house and distoryed one of the bathrooms. Between my dads work load that he had n now isn't able to keep track of there are tools of every trade in our house wall to wall. It's gotten to be to much for my mom to up keep and my middle brother Jon had moved in to help out but the major stressor is. Is that there is just no way to afford the upkeep of the house ontop of making it handicap accessable for my dad so he can finally return home. One of the major accomplishments of my dads life is he is a major influence in the handy man industry around here. And a member of the Christian motorcycles accosiation. He is now out of the loop and can't get back in. The wreckage of my dads beloved motorcycle is nothing but destroyed. My poor mom is taking the grunt of the storm and I'm trying to help as much as I can. My oldest brother is trying to help as much as he can as well. But any way we look at it there is no simple way about it. My parents house is just not the fit. And of which this is the house my father built with his own hands. And he takes pride in. But like I said between the hospital expenses and upkeep there is getting to the point that in do time there may be no more house. There is help that is needed very badly.

  13. My name is Elizabeth. My husband, Shea, my father, Toby and my daughter Sarah are in need of a miracle. We were once proud homeowners, however our home has fallen into disrepair. We clipped coupons, pinched pennies and cut out any extras in our budget to save up to repair and renovate our home. We had saved enough money and began the long arduous task of DIY roofing. Our chief problem was our roof. We were sold a coating for our roof to save on energy and to better insulate our home, we ended up with a rotten roof. The salesman who duped up was never seen again. Due to all the ailments and illness that have befallen our family, our home is no longer a source of pride, just simply a source of sadness.

In September of 2013, my husband was bitten my a cottonmouth water moccasin. He was bit twice and a fang pierced his vein, essentially driving the venom straight to his heart and organs. As he battled for his life, I battled to protect our home. His recovery was hard, as he went into organ failure and distress several times. As he battled to reclaim his life, he was struck with serum sickness, a deadly reaction from receiving so much anti-venom. Between lost work and mounting hospital bills, our savings was quickly wiped out. My husband overcame insurmountable odds, I hate that I can't provide his the home he deserves. I thought everything was over and life could resume. Little did we know what was in store for us just a short time later.

In July of this year, our baby, Sarah, was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer. She is only 22 months old. Everyday brings something new, but through everything I am so thankful to be her mother. Despite aggressive chemotherapy and hospital stays, she is my source of strength. Shea and I try to stay in the moment when she is feeling good, we cherish those kisses and tea parties. We live to see the light return to her eyes. However, we are forced to stay with relatives between hospital stays. One of the hardest parts for Sarah is being seperated from her Grandpa. He has had to stay behind to tend to our home and our pets. Sarah's immune system has been so drastically weakened that we fear our home could make her ill. I would never be able to forgive myself is my child feel ill or worse because of my shortcomings and personal failures.

I ask anyone who is able to help us. However, I do know how blessed truly am just being Sarah's mother. I don't know where this journey will take us, but I hope we land back in our home. Thank you in advance.

    -Elizabeth

We live in our families home after my father passed away in January it was just easier for my daughter and I to live in the house The house is old suffers from water damage in the basement which build up the mold and mildew do my daughter is sick every month from the smell of mildew and mold I am a single mother and try to do the best that I can is hearing hard to make it on one income would love to have help for my daughters not all the time and missing school

  16. I would love to surprise my parents with a home makeover. I know they would be completely thrilled to walk into a home with a kitchen and bathroom that works all the time and not try to figure out where is the electronic shortage is coming from. My parents do everything in their power and strength to serve the community 3 times a week. Its been like that for 6 years now and still going strong. Theres so much more to see than how im writing this, my only request in life before they die is for them to enjoy a home that frels like a home and not a half constructed house. Lets put it this wa, 12 ppl, 3 dogs , 3200 sq ft home, electric shortage, and many more that would just be hreat to fix so they can enjoy their retirement.

  17. Hello, my name is Katherine. I want to nominate my mom for the Extreme Makeover Home Edition. My mom, Pat, is one of the best people I know, she is currently 72 years old and she has been raising children for at least 45 years, and for the past 18 years she's been doing it as a single mom. I am one of 10 children, the majority of us children were adopted. My mom didn't have to take us in but she did and our lives are better for it. Not only has she raised me and my nine siblings she has also been an influence to children in other areas. She's a retired teacher who has never stopped going, as she still teaches as a GED teacher at our local college. One year she even won Best Teacher of the Year for all she has done as an educator. Our house is just falling down around her ears and it's sad because I know she doesn't deserve that. The cabinets in our kitchen are falling off of the wall (the dishes now sit on the kitchen table), many of the room have broken doors, some off of the hinges, and some just don't have doors. The rugs (though she tries to get them cleaned when she can) just reek because of some pets we've had. (Mom doesn't really like pets she just keeps them because they make us happy). She recently had to file bankruptcy, there's just so much going on and she just doesn't have the money for it all. She always talks about if she just had the money for this or if she just had the money for that. I only want the best for her, she deserves so much more then I, or any of my siblings, can give her. I love her so much ,please consider her. She really needs this, thanks!

  18. We moved from nova scotia to alberta in hopes of a great life with better employment options to be able to give our newly born daughter a great life. We wasnt even living in alberta for a year when our 18 month old daughter was diagnosed with stage 3 neuroblastoma aka cancer. One doctors appointment led to a mri and right away taken to oncology ward before we knew what oncology was. Our lives stopped then. Its been almost a year since she was diagnosed and she has had all treatment known for her cancer and nothing has worked. She was sent home march 2014 with nothing leftfor treatment. We rent our home and we could truly use a new clean home up to code with proper air control so we can make everything clean and natural for her to help her heal naturally. We need help so her dad doesnt have to work work work just to make sure she has what she needed instead of spending the time we desperately need with out daughter

  19. I am writing in for my mom. She needs a lot of work done on her house but is only concerned with getting the roof fixed before the winter season. Whatever you all are able to do is appreciated.

  20. I'm no one special. I was diagnosed with a life-threatening very rare auto immune deficiency when I was two. I had a bone marrow transplant at age 14 which did well till about 4 years ago. I was a full time math teacher with many hobbies. I have been ordered not to go back to work because it makes me ill. I average about 3 to 4 hospital visits a year. I can't pay any of my 50 plus medical bills or other debt that continually increase. I frustrated with life because I am going no where. I have an apartment but don't how long. Even if I can't teach math which is my passion or pull off any job, I would like to do something with my life. My teaching career only lasted five and a half years and I am only thirty one years old. I would love to volunteer tutor and volunteer at church, scrapbook, do art and the things I love when I am able. I don't know if I fit the bill but I thought I would give it a shot anyway.

  30. Hello my name is zynaida I just moved to jackson Mississippi a year ago and I have become good friends with my neighbor. She is a single mother of 3 wonderful kids age 15,13and 10 even tho she has plenty of responsibility she still give the last that she has to help others. her fiance who she has been with for 5 years just recently lost his mother from a sckness and has moved back in to take care of his father who is also sick.
My friend keisha does all tjat she can to take care of her kids her fiance and his father as well and puts herself last. The house that they are living in has been overrun by termite. It has gotten so bad that the walls and floors have holes in them. Its a three bedroom house and its just falling apart. I would love for my friends be on the show because they are such giving young people who are trying so hard just to make it. There children deserve to enjoy a home and not have to worry about if the floor will cave in on them. Times are hard and only working part time is not cutting it. I hope they make it. They deserve to get something back for all the good they have done for others.

  31. I am applying for my mom. She is 62 years old. She is a foster parent. She opens up to any child in need. The house has gotten to a point where it is almost unliveable. The roof leaks. The ceiling is dropping. There is no heating or air. The floors are weak. On the roof there are actually black trash bags to help the rain fall off instead of soaking in. There are numerous other problems and ill be more than happy to submit a video or pictures if you need them.

They been theough so much, they deserve it and I wish I could give it to them. Thanks for your time.

  33. I'm 14 years old living with my grandma and 4 cousins. My mother is deceased she died when I was 12 and my dad moved down the street I was raised by my grandma. Our house is not in the best condition we have mice and cockroach problems and it's not completely level we have been working on this house forever spending all our money only to fix it again in a year. All I ask is that you consider my plea we also go dumpster diving to get furniture when our other furniture wears out and almost everyone's clothes are hand me downs. Please consider I want to surprise them and be able to live safer.

  34. I & my wife Marcia own the home my daughter lives in in Enfield CT. It is in bad need of updating and I cannot afford to do it as much as is needed. I built a ramp many years ago for my granddaughter as she has never been able to walk or talk since birth due to water on the brain, which she was only expected to live for less then a year. Now she is 23 years old and it is real hard on my daughter to get her around on the worn out wheelchair and vehicles that are rusting out completely. Her husband left her last year and it is going to be a real problem getting through the next winter with only one income and 24 hour care for Kirsten my granddaughter. She has 2 other boys (my grandson's also) in the house, which is a 3 bedroom ranch with no garage and on a 1/4 acre lot. I have upgraded the water heater system and replaced the electrical power input to the house from the street, but cannot do what is necessary in the bathroom or kitchen. my daughter desperately needs a wheelchair van so she does not get hurt moving Kirsten into and out of a normal car as she has to now for any time they go out anywhere, rain, snow, or any other weather type problems. My wife and I are retired and on a fixed income I served in the USAF & Air National Guard for 34 years & my wife has health problems with her legs. Any assistance would be appreciated even if it is assisting us in speeding up her handicap van from the state, which she has been on the list for many years, or helping out with fuel oil for the winter if possible.

  35. My name is Roger Grand-Pierre and I am writing this letter to ABC Studios and Extreme Home Makeover on behalf of the Cantone family. I am a 24 year-old life coach for their daughter Dina Cantone 44, who is severely autistic, suffers from intermittent behavior disorder and is deaf. I am writing you this letter because the Cantones are such a caring and loving family, but unfortunately have been going through a rough time. The Mother of Dina Teresa Cantone 72, is suffering from lung cancer (adenocarcinoma) and her condition is inoperable. She was diagnosed in 2012 and has been fighting it ever since. She is a brave and strong woman despite her illness and financial pressure from her medical bills and other debts. Every day as I work with her daughter, Teresa always maintains a great smile and a happy heart. Her husband, Ralph Cantone 82, is an army Veteran who served in Korea. Each day, I witness him always going out getting groceries, supplies and cooking dinner nightly for his family at his old age. With the huge pile of bills, I can see the stress and fatigue on his face. Their house is in bad shape due to the fact that they can’t maintain it as much as they would like to. Their situation gets even worse: their son Stephen Cantone, 40, who doesn’t reside with the family is threatening to evict the entire family out of their home and send them in the street. The family that resides in the home maintains the home to the best of their ability as well as pay the mortgage, but due to their credit in the past, has had their son who they love and trusted put his name on the house. It really breaks my heart to see them go through all of this, so I am writing this letter in high hopes that ABC and Extreme Home Makeover can help this family live the rest of their lives in peace and harmony. Thank you for your time in reading this letter. God Bless.

  39. Hello my name is jennifer Wiley and I'm applying for my Mom who is in need of a complete remodel on her trailer, she works all the time and tries to do what she can for repairs but they just seem to not do much ever since my Dad passed a year and a half ago everything has been falling apart one thing after another. She has lived in this trailer for over twenty seven years and it's about to the point of just caving in, just before my dad had passed their water well went dry and now she is struggling more with not having the income she did when he were alive to be able to get a loan just to get a new well put in, please help her we're located in central valley California. I would highly appreciate your help and I know she would as well thank you

  40. Hello. My Name is Christina. I have a friend of mine that their mother really needs this. She and her family lived in this really old home in the town of Camden Wyoming Delaware. Just this Saturday the house caught on fire and half the house was destroyed. She came from the Phillipines with her husband several years ago with her 7 children. A lot of them have moved off but she is now with someone else but her 2 sons and boyfriend live with her. Her son was sadly incarcerated and killed himself and sometimes it seemed like one thing after another. I am sad because now they are out of house and home and it's going to be hard to replace all the memories in my friends childhood home. Just wanting to give her something to make new memories in with the feel of something familiar.

  41. After reading some of the stories I'm embarrassed to write to you, but I feel all alone in what to do, in April this year my husband was diagnose with small cells terminal cancer, it metastasized en three parts of his body so far. As a result of the chemotherapy he is getting weaker and weaker.
My problem is that I own a house that is multiple levels and I don't have a bathroom in the main level, I'm very concern how I will manage when he is weaker to take him to treatment, having so many stairs. We were in the process of finding a one level house because we are getting older (my husband is 67 and I'm 63) and I have bursitis on my knee. We are both retired and we have no extra money to make any changes in our house. I can see myself selling the house, buying a new one and do the moving in the middle of his treatment and knowing he is going to get worse. If you can please help me I don't expect a big job. My main worry is the stairs, I have 3 bedrooms on the top floor and two bathrooms, 8 steps down to the main area: living room, kitchen/dining area, 5 steps down to the family room, 8 steps down to the basement where we have bedroom, a bathroom and the laundry room. I have five steps down to the garage and about 7 steps to get in the house thru the front door. We are still making payments on the house, we were both working after retired and know that extra income stopped.
Thank you for what you do.

  43. Hello my name is Jasmine, and I would like to apply for my aunt/mom. My mother got sick and was no longer able to take care of me and my sister my aunt adopted us. She took in a lot of other children in this small two bedroom house. Now that we are older the basement has always leak or gotten really wet and the moisture from the wetness has started mold my aunt has had some complication losing all of her hair. It would mean the world to have our home made over. Down through the years she has done a lot of work herself. In addition my aunt still cares for my mother who now lives in a developmental home and my grandmother who has suffered a stroke. Thanks for your time I'm so looking forward to hearing back from you.

  44. Hi, my name is Kimberely Franklin and I'm applying for my family. My parents just got their divorce finalized leaving me and my 2 sisters switching between houses every week. It can get very stressful! On my dads weeks it is my father, his girlfriend, my 2 younger sisters, me, our dog, fish, and my guinea pig that live in a 3 bedroom 2 bathroom house. It is not a very big house but we make due with what we have. In the basement water gets in due to melting snow or heavy rain. One of the walls is caving in. There was a leak in my father's closet from the chimney which was repaired but there are still occasional leaks. I always have the worry in my mind that someday the basement wall will concave or the roof will cave in and someone will get hurt. There are 2 bedrooms upstairs that my sisters share. They are ages 9 and 6. They do not get along at all! Now I know that it is expected for young girls not to get along but they get physical. My 9 year old sister Kaitlyn will punch, kick, etc my 6 year old sister Kelsey. Kaitlyn will complain about anything and everything from Kelsey breathing too loud, to her sniffling, or that she is looking at her in the car or at the dinner table. Kelsey just got her tonsils out which we hope will help her excessive sniffling. Kaitlyn has visited a psychologist but it doesnt seem like it has helped. I think that maybe them having the ability to have their own rooms will allow them to be able to play with eachother but also get their alone time as well. Now over at my mom's house she lives with her mother and step father. During the divorce my mother got pregnant with a baby girl which is my half sister. We were living paycheck to paycheck in a small apartment but once my mom got pregnant my grandparents took us into their relatively small home. There are 7 of us that are living in a 4 bedroom house. My grandparents share a room, Kaitlyn and Kelsey have their own room but the rooms are next to each other, and lastly me, my mom, and my baby half sister share a room in the basement. At first everything was okay but then things started to get out of control. My mom kept switching jobs, Kaitlyn was missing a lot of school, and Kelsey was left out of a lot of things. Eventually my grandparents started getting annoyed with my sisters constant arguing and me and my mom arguing. Unfortunatly me and my mother don't have a very good relationship. I really wish that was different but I am not sure how that will be able to change but I want it to! I have been wanting to move out of this house and into one of our own but my mom cannot offord any houses in our city and my grandpa really doesnt want us moving out of the city because me and my sisters go to school here. I understand what he is saying but I am not sure where we will go then. That is why I am reaching out to you! I need help in getting my lift back in order and I believe that 2 new homes will help start the process. I hope you read this and concider my family for this show!

    Thanks so much,
    Kimberely Franklin

  45. JALENE is 3 years old and was diagnosed with brain cancer on 4-14-2014. A malignant PNET tumor was removed but this little angel is still fighting for her life. Our community in San Antonio, TX has come together to support her and her family by way of following her journey on facebook at Jalene's Journey. There have been several fundraisers and the family has received some online donations but nothing comes close to what they need by way of home repairs. THEY HAVE BEEN INSTRUCTED TO TEAR DOWN JALENE'S BEDROOM AND TO REPLACE IT WITH NEW MATERIALS AS TO AVOID ANY TYPE OF CONTAMINATION. Jalene is rarely at home as she has spent most of her time in the hospital. Since April, she has gone through brain surgery, blood transfusions, platelet transfusions, agressive chemotherapy and stem cell transplants. They will be traveling to Houston for 6 weeks where she will receive proton radiation. Her mom is Jennifer Salinas. You can find out more information by way of wwwgiveforward.com/jalenes brain cancer fund. Jalene has 3 other siblings whose lives have been turned upside down. The whole family would benefit from an extreme homemaker. Wouldn't it be nice to not only make Jalene's bedroom safer but to remodel the entire house as well. Please take a moment to look at FACEBOOK & JALENE'S JOURNEY. I guarantee you will fall in love with this brave little girl and be inspired by the courage, faith and strength of her mom. The amount of virtual support she has received by people all around the world is heartwarming. Please consider Jalene for a extreme homemaker ! My name is Paula Lindsey and I am a cancer survivor. I am nominating this family, with the permission of Jennifer Salinas, Jalene's Mom. I would be happy to help Extreme Home Makeover Magicians in any way needed in order to make a family's dream come true.

  47. Im applying for my 13 year old daughter she's disabled and needs help for everything. She just had a trachea put in for her breathing we live in Allentown Pa. Me and my husband work hard but the house needs better living and more room for my daughter's equipment she has a wheelchair, kid walk, stander, and alot more. 48. Hi, my name is Zoe. I am 20 years old, with a 2 week old baby and a fiancé. I moved in with him after last year in college. He's lived in the same place for years. The problem is we want to be able to provide a safe house for our baby and a clean one. The house he lives in (we live in..) has a ceiling that has mold, so do the floors. We try to do what we can to keep it clean. It's a small house. Two bedrooms, one bathroom, a small laundry room, small kitchen, and a living room area. It has a furnace that is pretty old. My fiancé works really hard to make ends meat. He volunteers at the local church for sound. So between work and sound for church, it's hard for him to relax. He's had to pawn stuff off to help with financial money concerns, as well as sell his drums since we are borrowing my parent's car for the time being and the one he uses to get to work and all broke down recently. He's been having a hard time labely and he knows it's important for us to move. But he also does not want to move in a way because we are in a place/location he loves, it's just the house that is the problem. We want to move, but financially it's just not possible – fixing up the place is just not doing it. I know getting help to fix and make this a house we can stay in without worries is a long shot, but we would greatly appreciate it! Thank you!

    Sincerely,
    Zoe

  49. My name is Rebecca, I'm 19 years old

My mum died around three years ago from lung cancer and my dad died a year ago from two rare types of cancer from the brain.

Ever since I've been living with my younger sister who is 17 and has a severe OCD disorder, she is now living with lodgers through family care.

Me and my sister has been inherited a six bedroom house which still has mortgage to pay and is in dept, we are currently trying to sell the house so me and my sister can try find a secure place to live, this has been difficult as the house is half decorated and is out dated.

  50. Hi – my name is Karen. I am a widow of 3 wonderful boys. My oldest son has the same heart condition that killed my husband just 6 days after buying a new house. My middle son has a rare genetic condition called XXXXY syndrome. He is a sweet kid that functions on a second or 3 rd grade level. My youngest son was witness to his father collapsing and dying on our front patio. I have struggled to keep the house that my husband and I dreamed of owning. My house now has plumbing issues, needs a new roof is the foreclosure proceedings. I have tried to get a loan modification worked with a HUD counselor but have not had any luck. I want to keep my house. It is in a nice neighborhood where my special need son drives his 3 wheel trike on the side walk, my neighbors look out for him. My house is close for my older son to commute to Rutger's university , he is entering his senior year. I want to keep the house and make it something my son's can be proud of. They have been thru so much and I don't know where I can go if they foreclose on my home. Thank you for your consideration. – Karen Geist

  51. My name is Kristi Chasteen and I want to tell you a little bit about my family. My grandmother who passed away April 1st, 2014 she was the hardest working woman I knew. She worked until she was 86 years old and had to retire because of health problems that started about two years ago. She has two daughters, my mother Glenda, and my aunt Brenda and one son named Len. Len was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer that had spread to the liver. He put up a courageous fight until he passed away June 1st, 2014. Len wasn't able to work since he was first diagnosed with cancer. When my granny past away Len inherited her home and some acreage beside the house. Our family, kids, grandchildren and great grandchildren, plus two great great grandchildren got together at Granny's every Sunday for lunch and spent the day together. We were a close nit family and still are but it will never be the same without granny. She was the glue that held us all together. Len decided to sell the house and land due to his health problems and he knew he would not be around much longer, so my mom and dad purchased it and since my grandmother has been gone my parents have left Granny's house just the way it has all ways been. They have continued to pay all the bills and keep it up for the whole family so we can still get together like we always have at Granny's and continue the tradition. My parents are the most amazing people I know, they are always giving and doing things for others and put their self last. They raised their oldest grandson and have provided for him. They have helped me out so many times I wouldn't even know were to start. My dad is retired but does still farm with my brother. My parents have talked about redoing their house for years but they are always help everyone else. My dad and both my grandfather's built my parent's home back in 1974 and they haven't done anything sincerely the ceiling in the living room is cracked and falling, half the windows are cracked, the floor in the kitchen is very damaged, a lot of the lighting in the house does not work The home has two bathrooms, one of which does not work (shower)and the other one with a toilet that does not flush right and a lot of the tiles are falling off. The bath tub works but is very small and is hard to get in and out of. My parents are getting older and it breaks my heart that they choose to put everyone else before themselves. They have worked hard all their lives and still continue to do so. I would really appreciate it and be forever grateful if you would consider this request and help me give them something back in return for all they do for others and not themselves.

  52. My four children and I do not have severe or terminal illness which I thank the Lord for.But I desire with all my heart to have a nice comfortable home for them that is why I have been attending college for over 4 years to become a teacher and get them that home they deserve.i now have an associates degree so this year iam working on my bachelors to get a decent salary and make our dream come true and live in a comfortable home for them

  53. Hi, my name is Lynette, I am 40 years old and live in RI. (my fiance and his 7 year old son also live with me). Last year (2013) my Mother was complaining of horrible stomach aches. She finally went to the doctors and November 4th 2013 she was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer and given 1 month to live – 6 months if she was lucky. They told her with chemo she may be able to get 18 months. Well, she told the doctors where to go, went home and never went back to doctors. Instead she did every all natural remedy we could research – and she is still here today! (10 months later). She is not dancing in the streets or anything – she is weak, but she is here and still enjoys company.
The problem is, I have a mentally ill brother and a special needs sister who were both living with Mom. I was appointed conservator for my brother, he is now out of the house and getting treatment. But, I am now in charge of my special needs sister – for the rest of her life. She has moved in with me because Mom can't do it anymore. My sister Lisa has never been properly diagnosed. She is 32 years old now. She was born missing the fibula in both legs. When she was a baby, a big named hospital tried casting both arms and legs in order to make them stronger. They casted her out of joint and made more handicapped problems for her. She wears leg braces everyday, but she will not be able to walk on her own for much longer. I already have a wheelchair for her for when we have to do a lot of walking. She has limited speech so she can't communicate that well with people who don't know her. She can be cooperative or she can throw the worst 2 year old temper tantrum you have ever seen.

Back to the problem …. Lisa is now living with me, and won't be able to walk on her own very much longer. I live in a raised ranch – there is no way for me to make it handicapped accessible. I leave her wheelchair at the front door and she crawls up the stairs – most times continues to crawl through the house if her legs are tired of walking. Not only is my house a raised ranch, it was built in the 70's and has never been properly updated and the rooms are so small that even if I could get the wheelchair upstairs, she wouldn't be able to use it in the house. I have given her my bedroom as it is upstairs and across from the 1 bathroom in the house. I have moved my bedroom to the basement.

I would absolutely appreciate being picked for your show and get a handicapped accessible house, with 1 main level with open floor plan suitable for a wheelchair. A handicapped accessible tub which would make bathing Lisa a lot easier on me and my back! I don't care about the family vacation – we can all stay with a family member for the week for all I care … all I really desperately need is a handicapped accessible house to make life easier for my sister and myself.

    Thank you!

    Sincerely,
    Lynette McGill

  54. Hello, my name is April Turner and I'm applying for my mother and father-in-law. We live in Lenoir, NC. There are 7 of us living in a 3 bedroom house and our family is continuing to grow. The appliances in our home barely work as the fridge is going out and our air conditioning works only half of the time. My father-in-law and brother-in-law work for a temporary service which doesn't lead to a full time job. We are trying to make ends meet but with no jobs available it's a struggle. We are even struggling to pay the house payment. My 6 year old nephew who lives with us has autism, epilepsy, asthma, ADHD, allergies, and is legally blind in one eye. With his condition and special needs it's difficult for him to function normally. My sister-in-law had to quit her job just so she can take care of her son. If you could please help us out, I know my family would be greatly appreciated in doing so. Thank you so much!

  55. This is the most heartfelt situation I have ever encountered. I am a nurse and was hired to care for Jason. He is a complete total care patient do to a tragic mistake at the hands of a doctor! He was left with brain damage after going in for elective surgery to help improve his condition of allergies and sleep apnea. Little did everyone know that Jason would never be the same. Jason walked in that morning in 2001, carrying his 1 year old son on his hip, but he was never able to walk out the same as he walked in. He died in surgery that day after an anesthesiologist pulled his breathing/oxygen tube too soon, depriving Jason's body of oxygen for 10 minutes. He was resuscitated but left with hypoxic brain damage.
Jason lives at home with his mom, dad, and his two sons. Jason's wife left and divorced him early in the days following the event. Jason's mom was left with caring for him in every way. The tiny house they lived in was remolding in order to accommodate Jason and his illness. The boys now 14 and 11 share a very small bedroom that in some homes would be considered the size of a closet. Jason has his room and bathroom containing his things needed in order to care for him. It is also small as is the house itself. His wheelchair along with a lot of his things now are wearing and showing signs of needing to be replaced. Jason's mom takes care of all his needs, such as maintaining nurses, ordering medicines and supplies, etc. she also raises Jason's sons. I've worked as Jason's nurse for a short time but I can't think of a better family that desperately needs and deserves an extreme makeover.

  58. Hi. My name is Rayanna and I am 17 years old. I live in Lufkin, Tx with my seven person family. We live in a two bedroom trailer that we have had since I was a baby. The trailer is so old, it is literally falling apart! We have a one year old baby in the house and it's not a safe environment at all. My mother and two others work to try and support everyone, but they don't make near enough. It is a very small space to have seven people in. It is very hard to keep the house in order she to these things. I want to say thank-you for your time and have a great day!

  59. My name is Lorynn, and I am writing on behalf of my parents. Five years ago my father suffered a stroke, and fortunately it didn't cause much permanent damage. He has an extremely rare condition that causes multiple aneurysms throughout his body. He had surgery to help correct this issue, but two years later he suffered a second stroke. He is still able to walk, talk, etc., but he has some vision issues. Because of all the medical leave from his employer he was eventually "let go." Now, my parents can no longer afford yo live in what was their dream home. The roof is falling in around them and they do not have the means of fixing it. My brothers, my husband, and I have done all we can to help, but the financial burden has become to much to bear. They are going to be forced to leave their home, and move in with my husband and I. Our house isn't big enough to comfortably fit everyone. I am not writing to have my house remodeled because I believe that it is selfish to ask for favors that aren't necessary. I am writing because I believe that my parents deserve better. They provided my brothers and I with a wonderful childhood, and I am heart broken to see their own dreams come crashing down around them. I do believe there are others who deserve this more, because everyone deserves a chance. There are families that live with a lot less than what my family has, and they derseve all the happiness the world can bring. I'm just asking for a chance to give my parents the life they want and deserve. I am asking for a little hope for the future.

  60. Hi, my name is Aaron, I am 13 years old, I live in Florida with my mom and 2 brothers, one who is 19 and is Bipolar and schizophrenic, and the other who is 17 and Autistic, we live in an old 950 sq feet house that is falling apart, My mom is always working because we dont have our dads help, he does not visit or pay his child support, we have seen my mom cry at night cause she cant pay the light bill or the car, she is always saying that one day she will be bless enough to move out of this small infected house to a better house, but honestly I dont see that happening anytime soon, she loves to help people so much that when she needs the help they all walk away from her, she volunteers at the school everyday for 2 hours and then at church but no one knows the situation we are in she says it is no ones business, so we go along with that, she loves watching your show and she even cries after hearing the stories. i would love to give my mom a surprise like this. Thanks

  66. I am applying for my mother, Margaret Simpkins, of Brandon, Mississippi . Her home has been falling apart for some time now- water heater has fell completely through floor, water leaks in roof, floors are ruined, etc. She recently gained custody of her grand-daughter. She was doing fine with a little help from neighbors and I recently replaced her appliances because NOTHING in house worked. The house is sooo bad that she recently became sick and almost lost her life from an infection. I recently had to sell my home because of economy effecting my job. This house is in good community and she recently received a note on her door saying what a eyesore it is and if she comply with the city's ordinances that they would fine her. Since she had her surgery she is not able to work. I have been to help her many times even though my family needs help. My mother and niece are living in a home crumbling around them. It breaks my heart to see this. They deserve so much better. I know this house is effecting their health in a BAD way! My niece is a sophomore at Brandon High School and has never had a friend stay over because of house. I would like to thank you ALL for what you do for people in need -you are true heroes!!!! Please give this application a chance . My mother and niece are in desperate need of help and I'm exhausting all my resources just to keep them going. Thanks to your whole crew for all your hard work. Please help!!!!!! Thank you , Jimmy Dickerson Jr.

  67. My dad left my mom about 15 years ago now. She was a stay at home mom to her three kids. She had to immediately go and get a job to support us. She has been working 60 plus hours a week for over 10 years. She just recently bought a mobile home with three bedrooms. The mobile home is falling apart. It needs a new roof, the furnace is broken, and we just recently discovered that the water heater is leaking and has molded the entire back side of her home. On top of all the issues with the house she has taken my grandparents into her home. My sister has three kids all under the age of 4 and just got herself out of an abusive relationship. My mom has taken them into her home. She is the only person working and is so exhausted all the time. She makes ends meet penny to penny every month while supporting 8 people in her 3 bedroom home. She does not have any extra time or money to pay for the repairs to the house. I love her very much and wish I could fix everything that is breaking. Thank you for your time. Jessica Mikek

  68. Hello Crew, I'm a mother with a great husband and five wonderful children. All seven of us live in a 2 bedroom home. My husband and I are full time students plus he works 70+ hours a week. Trying his hardest to provide for our family, my part-time job barely makes a dent. Were blessed that their is no mortgage on our home or their would've been times we may have been evicted otherwise. We sleep in the living room on a hide away bed and the children share the rooms. My husband is also Co-Pastor at a new church recently started in our town. So local ministry is our passion. Please help us become stable so that we can continue to help the community through the ministry which is also mid-construction due to lack of funding. Having the presence of your team in our town would unite the community and bring unity. Wanting to minister to youth through community activities helping to complete the makeover would help many currently and in the future. Thank You all in advanced and Have a Blessed Day

  73. Hello am responding cause I need help for me, my granddaughter and my brother. I live in a old home for about twenty years now. Down through the years I develop breast cancer. I've been running back and forth to the doctors for my treatments. My home is really falling apart due to needing to be remodeled. Keep in mind I've also raised a granddaughter with cerebral palsy not being able to get around and take care of herself. So Ijust been taking It one day at a time thanking GOD that me and my family are still alive. My brother moved in with me when he became ill. He had to have his leggs amputated off because he got burned on top off a building trying to paint a house for a living. We all are disable in my house hold. So with the little income I do get,I just try to use that to work on my house. So who ever read this am praying that you understand where am coming from. Some of these words not spell right but I done the best that I could do. Am a 69 year old female thats been in a battle with cancer. I will stand and survive through anything wiyj the help of the good LORD.
