She is a widow who has had multiple surgerys and has limited movement in her arms. She has taken 3 cats even through she hates them. 8. My name is Michelle and I'm putting this in on behalf of my sister, mom, and nephew. This is our story.

My dad was a 35 year firefighter, retired, when he bought this property for my family. It was to be our legacy. Mom has MS, and for most of my life, I have been taking care of her. Since the age of 12, actually. My dad purchased this property in August of 2013. One month later, he was diagnosed with Stage 4 esophageal lymphoma. Dad tried everything to stay alive and help us, but when the insurance company MetLife abandoned him and us, he went pretty fast. He died on June 10, five days before Father's Day. One month and 6 days later, my grandmother died at the ripe age of 93. I brought my nephew down south with me so he could have a break from the rest of the grieving family. On Thursday, July 31, I received a phone call from my sister saying that the house had burned down, and everything with it. Mom, my sister and my nephew survived, but they are now homeless. My mom can't move without a motorized wheelchair, and that has melted. My sister can't go to work without having a reliable, trustworthy person around to take care of mom. We are well and truly stuck. Please help us! It would be a blessing from God if you picked us. Thank you so much for reading our story.

  9. I've been living with my grandma since last year when I came here to help my grandma with papa, he had a brain tumor and it had taken him down and I arrived to find both of them sick. Grandma had pneumonia from trying to do it all by her self just basically over doing it.papa was bedridden and didn't even speak for a week. By that following Sunday we had a routine and papa was able to help me shower him. Grandma was on medication and got better and was talking and joking smiling and even knew me most the time I could not leave them so I moved home permanently papa died July 13 @ home and grandma was okay we thought considering she mourned herself into congested heart failure (they call it the broken heart) when she came home a month later she was blind in one eye and lost a lot of weight. Slowly we determined that she didn't remember hardly anything before besides papa dying and fragments of time. She had basically been in shock since before I arrived. We've been back to the hospital 3 time s and she really gotten a lot better.but she can't live here anymore. Not without papa. So she found a manufactured home a street over from her sister who's been driving back and forth all this time helping as well as my boyfriend who took it upon himself to take over maintenance and yard work so my grandmas yard and home stayed nice and safe and she feels safe. They live in creswell oregon we are twenty minutes one way. She found the house and we all supported her in starting again in a new home and yes she wants us with her so the ball got rolling she was smart enough to get an inspection and was devastated by the results it's just to many things that cost a lot of money and contractors ,when she was already gonna get new carpet but that was shattered by the inspection.we were devastated and the house is packed now her anxiety is back and she was crying yesterday I'm afraid it's gonna drag her down again. Typically if it's possible you could help so we can get this house it would be a miracle at this point I'm calling or writing in desperation, her and papa worked so hard all their live papa only took one day off in 38 years and that was to Mary my grandma who was a nurse at sacred heart hospital for the same or more time. I just can't bear to see all that life to go down with an inspection.thank u for it time.diane

  10. Hello I really don't want to give my na me because I would like this to be a suprise. I have a beautiful girlfriend of two years and the way she lives at home is not right. She has a total of 10 siblings, ages ranging from 6-22 and they live in a 2 bedroom ranch home. The father is never home because he is the only provider for the family. I hate having the feeling of her and her family living in these conditions. A lot of the siblings share a bed on the floor or room and so on. Notany people ever have been inside do to the fact of you cannot walk inside. Please ABC contact me back it would be a great help. Thank you!

  11. Hi my name is Robert E. Woodward. In 2008 my father was working on a roof with my uncle. The scaffolding they were standing on gave out and my dad fell 20 ft. And landed on his feet. Unfortunately he broke both bones at the ankle and fractured the other knee. Well after 13 years of working at his job he had this accident and in 2009 they let him go because he was Unable to come back to work. He has been on disability since then and I even moved in with him and we still are barely paying the bills and barely have enough to eat on. On top of that me and my wife are expecting a child in January. The conditions of the house we are having to rent due to the fact we can't buy are unexceptional for a child. I am working 12 and 14 hours a day to barely put food on the table for the 3 of us soon to be 4 of us. It's just alot to bare for just one person. And if we could get this it would be the greatest thing that could ever happen to us. I know we don't have it as bad as some people but we are on the verge of loosing everything we have. Thank you for your time..God bless

  12. We live in a town that know one will recognize. You won't get any publicity in Abilene, TX, but isn't that what it's really all about? Helping someone who is truly in need, and gives back? This woman lost her father a few years after they had reunited. At first he wasn't a part of her life. That didn't stop her, however, from being a constant caretaker for so many two year olds in this town. She has a magic way with children, and she has dedicated her life to taking care of others. However, when her father died she was quite young and bought a Lemmon of a house. The floors are turning in, the water heater is busting, the foundation is falling apart. The plumbing keeps busting and flowing through the rotting floors of the bathroom. This woman has managed to make her way despite all of her set backs and I believe that for once she deserves to have someone fight for her. She takes care of the children of our future, can we please take care of her?

  14. I know we all have a story, and this is mine. As of May 24th, 2013 I was a married woman with 3 children and 1 grandchild and as of today I am a widow with 3 children and 2 grandchildren. On May 24th, 2013 my husband suddenly passed away. My story is long and complicated but here is a short run down. I met my husband Tom years ago but we finally became a couple around October of 1998. The September before we became official I had given birth to my son from a previous relationship. I was not involved with this person when my son was born nor have I been involved with him since. When Tom and I finally became a couple he fell in love with my son and from day one he claimed him as his own. The only father my son knows is Tom. A year later in 1999 I gave birth to our daughter and in December df 2000 Tom and I married. As with any marriage we had our ups and downs but we always came through it. We were always struggling in one way or another but again we pulled through. Through the years Tom suffered 2 heart attacks but all came out fine and our lives continued on. In 2012 our lives became a little more rocky and we ended up separating. I moved into my mothers with the kids and he into his moms to take care of her. She suffered from severe dementia. Through this we were trying to work on our problems and remained married. I remember the day like it was yesterday. It was May 24th, 2013 and I had to take our sons dog to the vet. I had our granddaughter so I dropped her off with Tom and went to do what I needed to do. He was going to bring her to me later that evening and BBQ . Around 4:30 I received a call from our daughter telling me that dad was asleep on the floor and she couldn't wake him up. I could hear something in her voice and I told her to yell and him and wake him up. By this time I was in the car driving over there. The phone rings again and she says, "mom he won't get up, he is cold and hard." I told her to hang up and call 911. She told me she couldn't she was scared. I told her to take my granddaughter outside and I would be right there. I called 911 while driving and stayed on the phone with them until help arrived. Of course there was nothing they could do, Tom had been gone for several hours. What I'm guessing is that he had another heart attack shortly after I dropped off our granddaughter. When my daughter came home from school my granddaughter was laying on the floor with my husband taking a nap with him, she had no idea he had passed away. When my daughter saw him she too had no idea he was gone. This was her first experience with death and he literally looked as though he was sleeping. My daughter took my granddaughter back to her room and left her dad to finish his nap. It wasn't until about an hour later that my daughter realized something was wrong. I can't imagine what my daughter feels. I think she feels like if she would have done something sooner he would be here but that is not the case, he had been gone for hours. 4 days after my husband passed our grandson was born and then 6 months after that my mother in law passed away. After all of this we found out that my mother in laws house was left to my youngest daughter. The house was and is in very bad shape. My dad has started remodeling the house and has done a lot of work but nothing has been finished. This has been a year and we are still not living in the house. I would love to be able to have the house finished and made safe for me and my family. I feel like this house is my husbands way of providing for us even in death. If you could help make this house into our home our prayers would be answered. I would love to talk to someone further about this. Thanks Angela

  15. Hello, my name is Audrey I was born in philadelphia and raised in Florida around 14 yrs old left home went to live in a third world country simply running away from another type of hardship only to find myself stuck in a foriegn country. I was pretty much forced to stay there washing clothes in the river and cooking with wood. Basically your restrooms was the mountains after many yrs an american missionary found me and decided to take me out of that country along with my children. I came back to USA. I cried when I first saw myself in full length mirror and 98 lbs my children were afraid to use the flushable restrooms. The first time my kids recieved crayons and a coloring book was the best gift ever for them living in a foriegn third world country makes you appreciate the little things in life. I was hungry to get ahead I came to shelter for women and children started highschool at the age of 23 and actually had to learn English all over again. I then went to technical school for Medical Assisting and graduated and also went to college and got AA degree. In the year 2009 I met brandon he worked in the Emergency Room as Ed tech saving lives and he also is a firefighter and I was a Phlebotomist at the time. When we met we dated for a yr and little did I know he would ask to marry me. The women with 7 kids has just been honored. We married with all the children as maid of honor an groomsmen 🙂 the happiest moment of my life. Now we have 9 beautiful children that are our life, since then we purchased a home on a 2 acre lot that used to be a fire station the home has alot of potential but we are both currently trying to go to nursing school and are unable to do the remaining repairs I know we already have been blessed. I know there may be more need out there in the world and I dont want to seem selfish I just thought to give extreme home makeover a try to see if We could get some help in home repairs. So if this is possible We really would not know what do, we are grateful for the opportunity.

  16. hi my name is Angelica I am sending this on behalf of my mother all here life shed gave to her family and grandchildren she been diagnosed with vasculor demetia and is on disability her house and two rental propertied are going to go to bank because they cant be rented due to needing repairs shes getting ready to lose ever

  17. I am going to tell my story, I am 38 Years old and work really hard to support my family I make decent money but in 2010 my mom was diagoised with cancer and she is currently a survivor but I have to help support through the years with certain things and in 2011 my husband was diagised with End Stage Renal Failure and he had to retire from the car business, it is extremely hard on me sometimes but I know that God helps me through I don't even have a working over or dishwasher the small things. My pipes burst under my house last year and it was fixed but it is doing again. It would the greatest gift to me to be able to have the plumbing working correctly and a oven and dishwasher. Thanks for taking the time to listen to my story. I have really struggled working and taking care of mom and husband the last several years.

  18. My grandmother bore 7 children and Raised them all on her own, on top of that she raised many of her grandchildren as well including my brother and I. My grandmother kept me on track all of my life and I feel as though I owe her everything because if it was not for her I could be on the streets or in a gang or worse, dead. For as long as I have known my grandmother she has always been tough, always provided for her family and seldom would she ask for help. Now at the age of 79 my grandma is still raising children all the while her house is falling apart. My grandma deserves something nice for herself for once. When I was younger she would always watch the show hoping that someone would come and fix up her house like they fixed up other peoples houses but it never happened. I am leaving this comment today in hopes that my grandma can have her house remodeled. she had her house built in about 1975 or somewhere around there and I am sure it may have looked nice at some point, however now there are many things going wrong with her home and she does not have the means or the knowledge to get these things fixed. I hope that you would consider my grandma as a candidate for home make over because she thoroughly deserves it and is the example of a righteous soul. My grandmothers health is slowly declining with her age and I would like for her to have something nice done for her in her lifetime because she has done so much for others. Please consider my grandmother as a candidate for everything I have written is the god honest truth.

  19. Four years ago my families life changed forever in seconds with these three letters, HHT. HHT stands for Herititary Hemorrhagic Telegectasia. Now you know why everyone calls it HHT! My 8 year old daughter had these vessels on her lips that started pulsing blood out of them. After several hospitals, a 5 year resident at Texas Tech said….I think you guys have HHT. Something she had just learned about. By looking at me and getting my history that day my daughter Sara and I were diagnosed with this genetic vascular disorder that causes aneurysms in the brain, liver, and lungs. And causes the bleeders that have few options for treatment.

A few days later all three of my children and I were officially diagnosed with HHT. Although it is suppose to be a 50/50 chance with each child, all of our children inherited it.

Basically with this disorder we don't have arteries that go to veins..then to capularies. Our arteries go straight to the surface and bleed.

my daughter Sara bleeds uncontrollably from her nose and chokes up blood every day. Some episodes last hours. They have no options that work to stop her bleeds and no medication because of her age. Everything they try creates more bleeds. It's so bad she's had to be home schooled during rough patches.

MY other two children also bleed…one was life flighted 2 summers ago. While on a jet to the hospital he said he was the luckiest boy in the world. Their outlook on life with all they go threw amazes me.

last week they had their screenings and both of my daughter's were positive for pulmonary avms. Which can cause a stroke or brain damage if they aren't taken care of. So both have to have surgery to repair the avm in their lungs.

All that being said. Nothing stops them. They play sports..they do great at school. They live there lives to the fullest. When a health issue arrives we get it fixes and they act like nothing happened. They amaze me.

This is were u guys could make my dreams come true. West Texas is not the place to live with this condition. And a tornado ripped off Sara's room roof recently causing more molds that she is allergic to….and a sneeze leads to bleeds. I know with less molds and if we had humidity in our home it would help their bleeds. We lost our nice big house when we all got sick. I fill like it's all my fault. I did this to them. My dream is a cure but that takes time. But I would love to give them back the house they lost and give them a house that is safe and more equipped to handle their health issues. I can't take HHT AWAY. But I have to teach them how to live with it. I just wish they had a comfortable safe home to be in. And would love to raise awareness. My kids are the lucky ones. They ones that pass away from this disorder are ones that don't have screenings or aren't aware they have HHT. PLEASE visit hhtfoundation.org for more info in it. And watch the new video for awarness. It could save lives.

My kids do their part for awareness doing grand rounds at hospitals to teach doctors. It's not easy but they know it is important. I wanna give them a home that they are happy and healthier in.

    THANK you for your consideration.

  20. 21. I would love to share a story with you about my sister. AJ, her husband and her 3 year old son have been traveling since he was about 6 months old. AJ had just gotten out of the military and just returned home from Afghanistan. She was recently diagnosed with PTSD and TBI, she struggles day in and day out me being her sister I see how hard it is on her being away from her family. The reason im asking for your help is because my sister needs a place to call home badly, her son Carter is taking an emotional toll to being on the road a lot and he is attached to our family. I want them to have a place to call home if you could please help us make that possible for her and for Carter. I am going to try and get donations from the wounded warrior project but I want you to build this homr home for her please. thank you guys for taking the time to read this. if you could get back to me that would be amazing thank you so much love molly

  22. I am a 42 year old woman and I would like to help my parents. They are getting older and not in perfect health. Living in a two story house and having to go up and down the stairs. Is causing my father to just stay in his room everyday. Which is making him grow older quicker. Because going up and down the stairs is very painfull for him. Not to mention a lot of times he dosnt have the strength.
They are currently trying to sell their house. Unfortunately it is not going well. I'm afraid if this is not resolved soon. It is gonna began to depress him and he then give up. As he is not in perfect health already.
They have found a house with the master bedroom on the ground level. That would be perfect for them My father would be able to move around and get the exercise that he needs to keep him going but until their current house sells. They are unable to. make that move.
All of my life I can remember my parents helping someone out. Wheathrr it be friends or family. Someone always needed a place to live and my parents provided that for them. As well as. making them feel comfortable and at home. While being there.
I know my parents àre not gonna be around forever but I think they deserve to live out their lives in peace happiness and pain free.

    Thanks for your time

    Ms. shannon

  23. Hi my name is kristy, I would like to tell the story of my aunts. My aunt Maria was living with her long time boyfriend and in November of 2012 her and her boyfriend were stabbed multiple times while in their home. Both were air lifted to the hospital and after many months in the hospital my aunt Maria was able to be discharged. Now unable to speak due to her multiple injuries she lives with her sister, my aunt Carmen which sometimes has to use a wheel chair herself. My aunt Maria's long time boyfriend ended up passing away not long after being discharged. My aunt Maria now has to go to physical therapy and is learning to walk and eat normal foods again, she still has no voice but has adapted to writing things down. So my aunt Maria is living with my aunt Carmen now and the house they live in does belong to Carmen but is in serious need of repair and sanitization for both of them to continue living there. I am currently living in California and they live in Miami Florida. My mom their sister was living with me for seven years and she recently died from cancer. I would love to have this great opportunity for my family to have a safe environment to live in. Their story is much more complicated then what I have wrote I'm not sure how comfortable they would feel about me telling their whole story as I am doing this without their knowledge. Thank you for this chance to improve the living of my aunts. Thank you for taking the time to read this.

  24. This audition is for my son and his wife, J. Kris Vieira and Sandra Cardoza. They have lived in San Francisco for more than 10 years. Both are teachers and they have had to rent due to the extremely high cost of purchasing a home, although that has always been their dream. They have lived frugally and saved as much as possible for all these years and after 10 months of open houses, and rejected offers, they have finally been able to purchase a home in the Excelsior district. This house was built in 1942 and is about 850 sq ft with 2 bedrooms, 1 bath, a garage, and a back yard!. They paid over $600,000 for this home and will have to replace all the windows and put on a new roof. They really want to pull up the carpets to expose the wood floors, upgrade the very old kitchen (Kris loves to cook), and have a nice back yard for entertaining their friends (mostly S.F. teachers). They are also animal lovers and could never have pets when they rented so are excited about adopting a puppy from SPCA (they are also very involved in community improvements, social programs, etc.). But of course on teachers' salaries they will have to take one project at a time. Kris's dad passed away from cancer shortly after Kris graduated from UC Berkeley and never got to see him become successful in his career. He is a Teacher on Special Assignment for San Francisco Unified. His dad came to the U.S. from Portugal when he was 18 and became a successful salesman through hard work and dedication to his family. I know Kris still feels the loss of his father 17 years ago and that Kris is driven to always do the best he can in memory of his dad and misses him everyday. I believe it is time for them to get the help they deserve.

My brother was suppose to be taking care of him and his home. My sister moved out from Tennessee to Utah to be by family, and went to visit a friend. Only to find that my brother was no longer longer taking of my Uncle or his home. My uncle was born with slight Ceberal Palsy and at the age of 8 had polio. When my sister Dianne found that my brother had just up and left and did not tell any one I the family, she immediately packed her things and left for Neveda.
When she arrived she found that the toilet was not working, the tub was backed up, the sinks were clogged, there were only sub floors I the house as the water heater had blown up and ruin the floors. I know that it is usually familes with children that you help. But my sister is now living in a hotel with my uncle because the house is such a mess. My Uncle Max cries everyday because he wants to be home.
He wants to be in the surroundings that he has had since 1952. But unless we can get some help to get this house back into a good living condition for him , he will not be able to do that.
We are just trying to reach out for what ever hep we can get. I appreciate you listening and taking time to see this message , I have pictures that my sister sent me. HIs name is Max Snow. 31. I am recently diagnosed with DID. I live with my dad and help take care of him while managing my condition as well as the house. Before getting DID, I suffered for almost five years of severe somatic pain. During that time I had almost no support, except for my dad. I'm haveing trouble adjusting to life with an alter ego, but coping as well as I can. It's only been almost two years since I've had the alter and live the best I can. But, with our house, the carpets could use replaceing as well as the deck. The house is old and nice, but full of reminders that so ans soneeds fixing up. My brother is to busy to help. So I don't bother asking. This house for now just serves as a reminder to me that I wanted it to be great, but. I've spent nearly the whole time here being sick, while my dad was afraid of losing me near when I first got DID. I'm not asking for an overhaul, but maybe some sprucing up of our house.

  32. I am on ssi disability and have a hard time moving around . I have a 17 yr old and expecting a grand baby in 4 months. My house is old built in 73 everything is falling apart . Please help

  33. My parents have always helped out their children and grandchildren when tough times have hit. I have recently moved back home to help take care of them. My mom had to retire and has been in and out of the hospital. She always wanted to make her home a little bigger so she could have room for all of us. She doesn't get around very well anymore and has trouble standing and walking. My dad does the best he can. If we could make it more handicap friendly she could do the things she likes like cook and get around. I'm not sure if you do things like this but it would be nice to give back some of her freedom so she could do more. She has always given of herself freely to all who needed it. Would love to be able to give something back to her.

  37. Hello, I am interested in applying for an extreme home makeover for my 91 year old Mother in Jacksonville, Florida.

  38. I know this program is for USA and you're beautiful Country. I am from South Africa and watch this program religiously every week. To give me hope and determination for whatever I have to face and endure.

My application will most definitely not be given a chance as I am from a different country. But, no matter I Want to still tell it and maybe, maybe something good may happen.

The reason for my writing is my mother. She is a mom that went through the toughest situations any person ever went through. At birth my mom was put in a orphanage and was raised by the orphanage and foster parents that took her home for holidays. After school she got married to my father Also a orphan and adoptive child. My father passed away in 1986 after a work accident. My mom suddenly was a single parent making and doing the best she could. My mother nurtured us with love, respect and to respect and help people around us who are in need. As a youngster after my dad passed away my mom had 3 jobs to keep 3 young kids in school and educated.

In 1996 my mom had a series of heart attacks, and things started going downhill from there.
1996 I started working as a Nurse in one of the biggest hospital groups in our country. 1997 I told my mom to stop working. We were 3 children at that stage who looked after her.

In 2005 my mother endured a pain and a traumatic event no parent should ever endure.
Her only son, my brother was killed at work in a armed robbery. I have watched the past 9 years how my mom has deteriorated health wise. My mom fought cancer in this time a overcame it. In 2013 my mom had multiple strokes in a day's time. Luckily she didn't keep any disability of that disabling disease.

We do not own any property but, my biggest wish for her in the last remaining days of her life is to give her what she deserve. A home, a place to call her own.

I am a nurse and can not give my mom what she deserves but, I do the best I can with what I have.

My mom Is a rock and a inspiration to me and my sister. The reason why I can not give up doesn't matter what I go through.

She is very ill more than we thought, and I am the only one who knows the severity of my mom's illness as my mom doesn't want her grand children and my sister to worry.

My mom has a few medical issues that is at this moment very life threatening. She has a abdominal aorta anurism, a vascular disease that limits the blood flow to her limbs. She is in congestive cardiac failure, and the specialist diagnosed her with cancer again which can't be treated or surgically removed due to above mentioned illnesses as my mom will not survive surgery.

Please please please if there is any way whatsoever that you can help me to make my mom's final days a bit easier with a home to call our own I will go to the ends of the world to make that happen for her. Please consider me? And my request?

  40. I'd like to tell my story, I am 18 yrs old I'm not asking for an extreme make over for me but for my parents, they have been married for 27 years. They never had a honey moon because my dad was in us navy for 30 yrs.. I have two older siblings and one niece and one nephew.. Me, my brother, mom, dad, niece and nephew love in a 3 bedroom home.. Me my niece and nephew share a room.. I was born with a backwards heart and I was blue at birth, my dad assisted in the surgery. We live in pennylavania and the city we love in is not the best. My dad owns our house and it's not a house it's a half double. Which means we have neighbours connected to us.. My parents have custody of both my niece and nephew, my mom has serious health issues and was attacked by a dog in 2008 right before Christmas… We don't have a lot of money and my mom is on disability an my dad works at a warehouse… They filed for bankruptcy because it's hard taking care of kids with little income…. I just hope my parents can get a house try deserve and want 🙂

  41. We've been living in the same house all my life and I'm 24 and my parents probably lived there 6 years before I was born. and it's 2 trailers put together plus some add on rooms that my dad built his self. the reason for all the rooms because they had four of us kids. I'm the youngest and the only girl. but I was wanting to do something nice for them since they have always been there for me and my 7 year old little. and my brother and his wife is staying there as well with there 4 kids .. thanks hope you can help us.

  42. Hello,my name is Taryn Johnson and this is my story. I'm 15 and live in a house with my mother, brother, and 2 cousins. This house is older than 10 yrs and has many many terrible problems. We don't have the money to get it fixed and it would be amazing if that one day it would get fixed up so my family and I would no longer have to struggle with the many problems this house has. My mom already goes through so much with being a single parent and trying to make everything run smoothly with the house. I know it's very difficult for her as I know and worry about problems she has with getting the house fixed and paying everything. My brother helps out so much as well but it's still hard for the family in general. My mom always talks about how she would love for the house to get re-done or fixed up. The ceiling in our den has fallen in and hasn't been fixed due to the lack of money. Our stove in the kitchen no longer works and hasn't for about 4 yrs. There are multiple holes in the ceiling of our bedrooms while the floor underneath the carpet of our home is rotting away. As well as different pieces of our walls due to termites that we need to try and treat so they can stop eating away at the wood everywhere. Our cabinets in the kitchen are so old that they won't even close. We've tried to do little work with the money we have here and there, but it definitely isn't enough. Our house appears to be shifting over as if it will fall any minute now. Everything is old and in terrible need of help. Our house is embarrassing and bad looking inside and out. I know everyone in my family would love for a makeover to happen. It's almost like a dream for it to happen though, because we don't have the money to do so. I really hate to talk about the many problems of my house because I'm so embarrassed, and all of my friends houses are beautiful. I can't do anything but hope and pray for my house to be the same. We would be so so greatful if you guys were to grant our wish. It would be a miracle!

Thanks for the opportunity to apply, I hope you have a great season abc.

  44. I am sending this in for my Best friend. On May 28 2012 she was hit by a car while she was riding her bike. She was in the hospital for 4 months. She was critically injured. Her aorta was torn in half, she had a broke back , neck right arm & right leg as well as her ribs. Her left lobe of her lung was removed she had a trachea, feeding tube & was given 37 pts if blood. She had a brain injury & now is a parapalegic. Her husband has filed for divorce & they also have 2 young daughters 10 & 11. She is filing for disability. That could take 6 months to a year. She is really in need of help. It would be wonderful if the show could build her a handicapped accessible home. Thank you for possibly considering to help her out. Thank you

If I could have an extreme house make over then it would be my kids and my dream came true. Thank you so much for taking the time to read this message. Today I yet suffer to make our piece of the house amazing for my children to enjoy working at a factory doesn't bring really any income in my way but enough to survive. I would be so blessed to have a home of my own but grateful just to fix my children's rooms also my own just to be comfortable and my kids actually have something to call their own:-) thank you so much for reading my letter. 50. My boyfriend inherit his parents home who he has grown up in he has been taking care of mom, me, my kids, and my granddaughter which my granddaughter has ADHD. He is really down on his luck he was terminated from his job on June 29, 2014 because he was injured at work, his mom passed away July 22, 2014. He has been trying to do remodeling on the home but unfortunately hasn't been able to because of his injury. He is always giving and never asks for anything in return.. I am doing this because I love him and he deserves something good back..

  51. Wow where to start! I have a 100yr old lake cabin, that I've been trying to remodel the word( trying )is no joke! I've been at it for over 7 yrs! At this point the interior is close to completion! meaning I've taped the interiors together! (Yup! taped) though looking at it now in its almost completed state One might think i got bit creative with the tape maybe even tried to jazz it up some. The tape is different colors, widths & type! This wasn't planned that way just happened. I've taped pretty much everything
(cabinet doors, floor trim, wall paneling, faucets including plumbing, front of fireplace, lots of sheetrock, even the base of the toilet!)
One challenge is just where to start, so I've started a little bit in every room! with that said lots of things are not finished ie; painting. The other challenge seem to be that with the cabin located on a cliff along with the age I guess, nothing is square, for an example one set of windows at the top the frame it shifts to the right then down from that measurement say 6" the frame shifts to the left, continuing down this time only about 2" back to the right, one more time to the left, only then it kinda drops to the center. Tried to hang blinds it didn't good so well. Couldn't get the headrail in the brackets in order to lay flat,it had to be put in sideways then I taped it all together. That's after cutting the sides to fit the different widths. So why do I believe a makeover is needed, what happens if someone saw the interior with all the tape everywhere and called the tape police! I would have so explaining to do! That's only one of many reasons.
    Thank you in advance.
    Dona (sticky fingers)

  52. I would like to tell ny story. I am a married mother of 4 young kids, with my oldest being only 7. Living here in NJ all I wanted was to have a beautiful home for my kids. I have tried so hard to make it on my own with my family. It is just really hard to have a beautiful home, work full time and take care of my family. I currently had to move back with my parents, so there is a family of 8 living in a 3/4 bedroom home. No I may not have rare diseases in my family. But having someone come here to fix my home would be the greatest gift anyone could give me. Its not for me. It's for my kids, my family. I would really appreciate if someone took the time out to help out my family and make my kids the happiest kids by giving them their own bedrooms and helping my parents to be able to move out the house into their own knowing that we are taken care of. Thank you so much for taking the time to read this message.

  53. Hello. My name is Corrina and my mother in-law has been helping my husband and I out for 4 years we currently still live with her. She as also let a friend of mine stay till he is able to get on his feet. She loves to volunteer at the loco church. I would love to see her house get fixed up it is very old and has lots wrong with it, you can't run the hot water and the dryer at the same time or you blow the fuse, there are cracks and holes in the walls and ceiling, the windows need to be replaced, and the pluming is bad. I wish there was a way I could help her but we all don't have the money to pay to get anything fixed. My husband and I re try to save money to give her her space back and it isn't easy when we don't make much and have 4 kids and 1 on the way. So I thought if I tried to ask here we might get help. I live in Altamont, Il.

  54. I'm sending on behalf of my son's girlfriend. She is 23 years old and she has taken care of her father her whole life. He was paralyzed in an automobile accident when she was 9 months old. This is very hard for her, not to mention for him. They love one another so much it's amazing. She wants to be able to do more and go more places, yet because of her dad she won't. He is and has been confined to one room in a single wide mobile home and from what she tells me he has not been outside of that room in over 4 years because he doesnt have the right kind of chair. I would love to be able to merely give him the right chair, but I am currently unemployed and living with
my son due to divorce and reuhmatoid arthritis. I can, although raise the money for it, I hope, ,lol. You know, there are days that I hurt from the pain of the arthritis so bad that I feel there is no hope for me and my situation, then God sends someone like Kayla my way to let me see just what I do have to be thankful for. Just being able to walk around, we take for granted. God has brought Kayla and her dad this far and I know that he will carry them on, but it sure would bless my heart to see you guys pull up at that tiny mobile home to help this family. Thank you for all you guys do.

  55. We have a single mom in the church that I pastor (in Illinois, not too far from Chicago) who is one of the most giving people I have ever met and yet is always in need herself. She has told me about how the house she lives in with her teen-aged daughter has some sort of separation in the roofing structure. I just heard that her water heater has gone out. The sense I get is that her house is one where one thing after another goes wrong. She could really use some help. She gets by on the salary of a school bus driver and volunteers many hours to help around the Christian school where her daughter attends as well as around our church. She is the kind of person who, when someone gives her some money to help her out, will likely turn around and give it to someone else in need. I would love to see her and her daughter get the kind of help your show could give them.

  56. I go to school with a woman who has taken in 6 special needs children and lives in very tight quarters. None of the children are hers biologically and her and her husband have taken these children in to give them a good home. They originally lived in a single wide trailer but it was ruined by water damage. With their insurance, they bought a short double wide and have had to place one of the children's beds in a walk in closet. She gets no assistance from DSS and all the children get is Medicaid and they have threatened to take that away from one of the children because his monthly meds are $1000 per month. The children all have learning disabilities and range in ages. Two of the children are in adult diapers that cost $72 per month with no assistance from the state. I would love to see you help this big hearted family who are struggling so just to give these children safe loving homes….thank you

  57. I am a single parent of 3, one of which is terminally handicapped. We currently own a home but it is not sufficient for future needs. I work two jobs to keep us afloat. It seems there is always something to fix with this house. I'd love to bull doze it over and build a log cabin in it's place.

  58. Hi my name is Alex, I'm only 14. And im writing this to tell about my grandparents. For the whole 14 years I've been alive, or at least getting to the certain age to where i understand more,my grandparents hasn't had much to do with. You see, in 1988 my grandfather was in a terrible car accident that left him with a broken neck. He was lucky to be alive. My grandfather was later sent home in something called a halo brace which is screwed into his head to support his neck, which he had to wear for six months. With that happening it left him jobless. After that he had to do odd jobs and could't work anywhere, due to his medical history. So he and one of his friends started a painting buisness but it soon failed, so they had no income. But then my grandfather recieved his settlement from the accident in 1988 and bought the house in the same year. But didnt move in until 1989, and lives there to this day. But then in 2001, my grandfather was diagnosed with congestive heart failure causing him to be unemployed permanently. Along with my grandmother, in 2010 she had to have two major back surgeries in the same year, leaving her unemployed as well. Causing them both to be living on two disability checks. And still dont have much of an income. For twenty-five years they have lived in this home. But honestly, it isn't a home. This house used to be a one roomed school house many years ago, later converted into a home. This house is the third oldest house in Lincoln County Kentucky, It turns one hundred and fifty years old this year. This house has so many problems i cant explain, such as leaky and rusted roof, the plumbing is not working properly, holes in the walls through out the house, along with the floors caving in. Although this house is a home to them I think they deserve this life changing opportunity after everthing they've gone through, and what they wont have to go through if you make this happen. What I would like to do is to make my grandparents dream come true… *A NEW HOME* Thanks and God Bless, Alex Abney

  60. My name is Darian Simmons . My husband has two boys we have custody of and we now have a little boy scheduled to make his appearance August 11th (my birthday) so in other words my husband and I have 3 children all together . We live in a 2 bedroom 2 bath (only one bath works) single wide trailer . Currently we are having to stay at the Ronald McDonald house because our unborn child has 2 non cancerous tumors in his brain and 5 or more tumors in his heart , he has a rare disorder called Tuberous Sclerosis . Also our 6 year old Ethan , has autism with the mind frame of about 31/2 or 4 years old. Our oldest son Alexander however makes straight A's & B's and loves sports and dirt bikes! Anyways , my husband and I were currently talking our money situation about a new home considering we have two disabled children and one older son (8) and we only have two bedrooms . Our oldest son tries so hard to be okay with sharing a room with our autistic son but its not easy for him . Ethan has lots of breakdowns and doesn't help clean up the room so all responsibility is usually fallen on Alex because he feels like Ethan's "protector" and feels he is supposed to do it all for him because he is big brother . But it hurts my heart for all the responsibility this 8 year old feels he has and on top of it all he is about to have another little brother with a disorder that may or may not cause autism or seizers . My husband works days that he can , the only days he misses is days of my appointments about our sons heart and days I don't have a support system to stay with me at the Ronald McDonald in other words , he don't get to work often and what money he does make goes to gas for days he can work (his job is over a hour away from the Ronald McDonald were currently staying at) . If at all we could make it on this show that would be tons of prayers being answered! Also I have read some of these comments and will keep you all in my prayers. Thank you for taking the time to read this and I hope I hear back from someone soon.

  61. Hi I'm a single mother of 3 and last year my children and I were living in a HUD assisted apartment complex in Morehead City NC. In September I fell through my floor and my boyfriend moved in to help me with everyday tasks that I could no longer preform for my children or myself due to my injuries. Since then I have been evicted from my apartment and while we were in the process of moving my 15 year old daughter fell through the floor. We have no place to go so for now my children are staying with my parents and my boyfriend and I are staying at his grandmother Ruby's house. There is no room for my 3 children to stay with us because Rubys daughter, grand daughter, grand son and now my boyfriend and I are all living here. There is no room at my parents house for me since my sister and her husband moved in with them and my children are staying there now. Grandma Ruby told my boyfriend and I that we could have her mothers house next door to her but it's only a 2 bedroom and there's a lot of work to be done it's not livable and I don't know how we'll get everything done. I've called around to everyone I could think of for help and can't find any. I know my children are safe with my parents but it's hard not having them with me, I've only been away from my children for a week at the most since they were born. Please pick my family and help me give my children a safe place that they can call home.

  63. Hello my name is aubrey Adams. My husband Wendell and I live in mt ida Arkansas. We have four beautiful children Logan 8, Emma 7, Jessie 2 and Danny 1. My husband Wendell has worked all his life never stopping Monday through Saturdays working from 3 am to 10 at night. He loves his job with all his heart and is blessed to work with his best friends. We are the most normal southern family we love people and enjoy life for everything it has to offer. Wendell is the most careing man you could ever meet. He would give the shirt off his back if someone was in need . He is a wonderful father that would do anything for his children. They are his pride and joy. Wendell and I have been married four years and have so many hopes and dreams to one day accomplish together. Wendell had been having allot of health issues over the last several years after numerous surgeries to the stomach to repair hernias he never fully regained his strength. We couldn't understand why. Until October of 2013 after a routine scan we were informed Wendell had cancer. There are no words to describe what happens to your mind your body and soul when hit with such heart wrenching news. But the worst was yet to come. He was diagnosed with stage four colon and liver cancer. The doctor sat us down and sold us the window of opportunity was very very small. He had 3 masses on his liver and one in his colon. The doctor scheduled him to start taking chemo. Every two weeks for three days he would haft to leave me and our children to take chemo. After twelve sessions 856 hours of chemo the doctor informed us it was time for surgery. Wendell's chance of mAking in through were very small. God blessed us with one of the best liver doctors in the US. We drove 6 hours to dallas Texas so the surgery could be performed. On day of surgery I kissed my husband and told him how proud I was to be his wife and how irreplaceable what we had built together was. After hours of waiting and praying we received the call Wendell had come through with flying colors! I had never felt so much weight lifted off my chest. The doctor finally came to speak with us and told us he was cancer free and had allot of healing to do. I try to imagine sometimes what it's like to go through so much. Having so much taken from you in such short amount if time. The ability to get up and go whenever. Putting your life on hold. We pray to god everyday we still have Wendell with us and he is cancer free . There is nothing scarier then almost losing a father husband and soulmate. Wendell has been through so much and has beaten the odds. Even when we were told there was no hope. We live in a 97 delta trailor and although we are blessed to have a roof over our head. We are running out of room and our home Is in desperate need of repairs. I'm afraid they are only getting worse with time. Wendell is not able to work right now. Our dreams would be complete if you could help us build a home to cherish with our children and someday our grandchildren. I appreciate your time and would be forever indebted to your help love Wendell and Aubrey Adams

  64. Hi my name is Dan Cherven, my girlfriend (Carol Newton-Petitt and I have been together going on 9 years and planned to marry in October 2014. She was forced to retire about 6 years ago after 2 back surgeries. In November 2010 she had a fall and broke her right hip, for whatever reason the surgery did not work and her hip never healed. We were managing O.K., I was able to continue working after a brief leave she got to where she could take care of herself. I have tried to stay on top of things around the house. But it seams like one thing leads to another ,had a water leak that damaged several walls and the floor in the utility room, bathroom, and spare bedroom. I've managed to do somewhat of a repair on these but its still not completed. Then she found a doctor who said he could fix the previous hip surgery, which had not grown bone in 4 years she was excited and scared. Things were looking up, but during the surgery in March 2014 she suffered a stroke. Since then she been in a rehab hospital in and out of the hospital for infections and possible seizures, home and outpatient therapy. Also during the month and half after the surgery I was running like crazy working and going to see her, our refrigerator started leaking and has damaged kitchen cabinets and the floors in the kitchen, utility room, and bathroom not sure about walls yet. I also had to leave my job to take care of her as she needs someone with her 24/7. With my lost income and unemployment being declined I know we will probably loose the everything. I know there's allot of of people who deserve this more. I just want to give her what she wants and that to stay in her home. Her mother gave her a letter when she bought this place telling her to enjoy her home. She lost her mom to cancer later that year. Thank you for your consideration I just want her to enjoy the rest of her life.

  67. I'm writing on behalf of my mother…My mother has been fighting ovarian cancer since 2005 she's currently taking chemo my stepfather has been her caregiver but on Easter 2014 my stepfather suffered a stroke while in rehab he suffered a heart attack leaving him with minimal use of his left side and wheelchair bound. My stepfather is STILL in rehab scheduled to be released next week do to exhaustion of benefits…HOWEVER, my mother's house is seriously dated 40 yrs old and needs to be updated to accommodate my stepfather who will need 24 hr care and needs everything wheelchair accessible…This is my wish for them…My mother has always opened up her home to those in need housing those that had no place to live…If this wish is granted it would make things so much easier for them… I'm a breast cancer survivor and recovering from a heart surgery my family has endured a lot but we're strong and continue to fight… HELP US!!! Thanks

  70. Hi, I am Becky Ducre mother of two( boy and girl) aunt of five (four girls and one boy).
My sisters husband Recently went to prison for molesting her oldest daughter. I am so scared that when I get my sisters kids I won't be able to take care of them the way they deserve. They're entire life they have all lived in a bad neighborhood and have lives in a three bedroom house and two bath. It hurts me to see them live like this they have never had anything nice, they run around like wild children. I just hope and pray that u find it in your heart to held me and my seven kids.

  71. My name is Hector Soltero, I am 62 years old and I am on disability due to back surgery. I have three five children ranging in ages 11-44 years old. My wife Adriana is a school teacher in our home town and teaches 2nd grade. We purchased a major fixer 14 years ago in Ramona, on a mountain side that used to be a "hippie" home, needless to say its been a lot of work to get it live-in status and still I cannot finish. And now with my back surgery I can't see the end.

  72. My story isn't as tragic and sad as everyone else's but my mom and our family needs a place to call home. I am 15 and my mom and dad split up when I was 3. I have two sisters one 18 and the other 11. Since then I have lived in 20+ houses with family friends, my grandparents, my moms boyfriends. And then in 2009 my mom found this really amazing man he had 3 kids, two boys and a girl. They got married and we became the happy family I always wanted. But it didn't last long. Money got tight and the divorcee happened, again. 2 years have past and this is the longest I have ever lived in a house with my mom and she is talking about having to move again. All my life I have never really had a place I can call home. My mom is a massage therapist so she doesn't always have a steady income. Over the years she has worked so many odd jobs, She currently does payroll for 2 other company's and she is a personal assistant to a lady who runs a business from her house. and she is a "full-time" massage therapist. My mom always tells me not to worry about money, but it is hard to see her struggle and you cant do anything about it. On top of her stress my little sister and I both have ADHD and an anxiety disorder. I also suffer from a mood disorder, and cryonic depression. So my mom has to drive us to the doctors and counseling apt. My dad lives in the same town as us but he doesn't understand mental illness and he refuses to help us. I honestly don't even know if u can help us cause we don't own the house that we are currently living in. But we need help finding a home that we can call our own. My mom needs this and I need this. I live in a small town in Oregon where everyone knows everyone and everything going on. If you can help please let me know.
