  1. My husband and I are renting a house in Suffolk, VA and this place needs a lot of work done to it. We moved in dispute it needing so much (to include a kitchen sink and counter top.) we wash our dishes in our bath tub. We moved in just to help our land lord out who are good friends of my husband's family. We want to do this remodel ourselves, but will take a lot of money that we don't have being veterans. However, we want to do as much as we can to help out. The wife if the landlord is very sick (in and out of the hospital often), and his son (only 30 years old) has cancer and not sure how much time left on this earth. He has been helping out people for a very long time who never gave him much in return and sometimes not even rent, and left everything in a worse condition. One time though, he had a renter who was staying here and saving up money to move to their own home, when they left he gave her all the money she gave him for rent and said go put a down payment on it. All I know is that this is a great family who helps out everyone they can and never gets anything in return. We are only staying here till we get on our feet, so this will be good for them when we are ready to leave, or for them to take this house back over. It would be nice to help out this family, they more than deserve it!

  3. I am doing this for a lifetime friend of 33 years! I am now one of her Angels! She has always been a helping woman She has 5 acres in a small blink your eye kind of town in Oklahoma! About 8 years ago She started batteling breast cancer and won only to loose her son to murder and leaving behind a son! She then lost her job and her brother whom they wer really close and had served in the Military well they found him in Keystone Lake drowned from having a heart attack Then her husband had a wreck and contracted a blood diseise that caused him to have gangrene and had both arms and legs cut off!! Well she got the property from her Father who was a Bishop and left her this place She takes on the challenge of helping her husband her mother who is 88 and has COPD and then their are all the people like me that she gives a safe place to stay and recover from your own tragedy's and does this all with PTSD!! Then a few years ago she had a nervous break down from PTSD and people were coming out stealing and not helping like they were supposed to and some things need fixed around here and accomodations for Gary her husband to move around in the mobile home. I came here from an abusive relationship and we are out enough that I am not afraid of him finding me!! She has a place up front that she had started into a thrift store but if someone really needed something for their house children or themselves and could not afford she gave to them!! I guess I am asking to be thought about because the fact I have been friends with this Warrior Woman for 33 years and Sometimes strong people need help to! Thank You Cheryl Hopper

  4. Hello there, my name is Samantha Honaker I am 22 years old and currently live in lexington nc. I'm not exactly sure if this will be heard but here's my story. I have a wonderful family who can be dis functional at times but all in all we are happy and do the best with what life has thrown at us. My father who has dragged raced his whole entire life and it has also become a huge part if mine and mother who creates the most beautiful stained glass pieces you could ever imagine have struggled to give my brother and I the best life we could have. Along the way things have gotten tough. My father in 2010 was diagnosed with Leiomyosarcoma it's a rare form of cancer that only 1% of people get and it's mostly found in women. He went through an operation to remove the cancer and in doing so had to remove an entire kidney. For about a year after he got regular scans about every 3 months until he no longer felt he needed them. So now here we are in 2014 where he has developed a mass under his arm. He has gone for scans at Duke University where today we have found out that he has over 90 tumors in his lungs alone. As well as on his spine, hips and ribs. He will start chemotherapy next week to hopefully reduce the amount of tumors but never fully get rid of them. Now this brings me to our home, we have never had guests over. Throughout my entire high school experience and my brothers we have been forced to have friends meet us outside due to the condition of our home. We are embarrassed and ashamed. We live in a double wide trailer with our miniature dash-hounds who have taken over the home. We would love to have a fenced in yard where they can be outside and we have our home back. I know my dad wants a place for all of us to be free and do what we love and more than anything he would want my mother to have her a stained glass room and a place safe for us as a family.

  5. Hello, my name is Sommer Wallace. I grew up in a town called Jayess, Mississippi. My parents found out in early 2000s(2003-2004) that our home had been shifted off of its foundation so they would either have to move or completely renovate the house. My parents opted to take the renovation for our home. During the renovation, their marriage completely fell apart. Since that time, my mother has lived with a family friend. However, she has always felt horrible about not having a place to for her seven children to come home to during visits. Well a few weeks ago, my mom was given a few weeks to move somewhere else but she had no place to go. My mother has travelled back to the home that we were raised in but found that it will take thousands to repair. My mom works very hard as a Social Worker aide and she makes hair bows for little girls and jewelry for women. However she doesn't have the money for a renovation. My mother has helped so many people through her time and talents for so many years and has never asked for anything in return. She has struggled for years and I am interested in someone else returning the kindness to her. Our house sits on 2 acres of land, and I know that it would be awesome if we could have our home renovated. Please help my mother Joyce Wallace get her home back.

  6. Hi I Am Harmony Daystar Browning I Am 13 Years Old And I Live In Springfield Illinois. I am writing To You Because Series Of Tragic Events Have Occured In My Life And Led Me, My Sister Hannah, And My Mother.dawn To Where We Are Today. I live in an extremely small house with very many problems. the house I live in is just me my sister and my mom my dad is deceased he died at least 5 years ago when I was 8 and when he died we kept moving and moving because my dad Was an electrician and he was the one who made all the money so today I live in this house with many problems and most the problem is we have are affecting our health. when we first moved into this house it was completely Disgusting because The last lady that had lived in this house was a hoarder and she died, not in the house though. and we have got evicted from our last house that we lived in and we just you know we couldn't pay rent. it was hard for us cause we didn't have the money my mom was working overtime to pay the rent but she just couldn't do it and with the timebmy mom is working she couldn't hang out with her family and my mom worked her butt off trying to fix this house and we couldn't the bathRoom has a big Whole on the wall in all the wood around the bath tub is molding and smells horrible and the drain won't drain so we cant take Shower. when you're taking a shower you just you don't want to touch anything its do and we only has a little bit of carpet in our living room and I have no carpet in my room it's just plain Tile Floor there are nails sticking up from the tile and and I have stepped on it many times. and especially through the doorway is your nails sticking up and it hurts when you step on it. and there is no air conditioning in this house so everytime we try to put it on the power goes out and it's dangerous for us for Us And we are afraid that
the house could just blow up and the electricity breaker is right next to the bathtub so we're afraid that the water is going to the electricity box and that's why the powers going out and is it scary to think about it. and in the kitone day my mom was sitting in making herself a drink and the ceiling fell on top of her and there was insulation coming out from the ceiling and scary thing for that we're breathing in all of that and with no air conditioning and the house we can't even open the windows because their nails shut and I don't even have my own bed its just a mattress on floor mattress and box spring and you know what I can keep going on about the problems with this house but it with this essay would be 4 to5 pages long and I just told you enough so if you can really help this browning family out that would be amazing god bless you and I hope God but you can help us.

  7. I am applying for extreme makeover for my daughter and son in law. My grandson Tajerian has a very rare form of epilepsy called Ota Hara Syndrome. This form of epilepsy starts in the womb and kills 95% of babies before the age of 2. Tajerian will be 5 in Nov. Tajerian cannot walk, talk, crawl, or even sit up by himself. He requires 24 hour care and a lot of times the nurses will not show leaving my daughter with very little sleep while trying to raise 4 other children ranging from 20 mos. to 13 yrs. old. The family lives in a small 3 bedroom home in NE Tx. During the summer, my son in laws two other boys visit. Tajerian must have his own room because of his issues, which means during the summer my grand kids have to share on bedroom between 5 boys and 1 girl. They are in such a need of a home to acommodate their everyday lives.

  8. I've watched your show a thousand times and cried my eyes out with all the different families that ya'll have so richly blessed. Thank you, for being such an amazing blessing to so many people! As I read through all of these desperate situations and different pleads for help, my struggles seem a lot more minutiae. I was a struggling single mother of three children when my husband and I got married in 2002 and one year later we added an additional child to the bunch. In 2007(I was 28 years old), I was informed that I was facing paralysis if I didn't have cervical surgery. I did have the surgery and fortunately I still have the use of the right side of my body. My life changed though. I'm currently 36 years old and I've had a total of 9 surgeries for different reasons, but now I dread the idea of ever having to face another one but I also dread the idea of not being able to walk. Currently, I'm facing more problems in my spine that affect my ability to be active with my family. It sucks to have to watch my husband and kids limit their lives and fun times because they want me to be apart of their fun and activities. I've worked as an accounting clerk at our family church for about 15 years now. My mother is the adminstrator/minister and my boss, so I've had a lot of grace when I've had to be off work for medical problems, doctor visits or therapy. For about four years, we survived on my income alone because my husband wasn't able to find a job. Employers where quick to turn him away, when discovering that in 1995 and 1996 he was convicted of felonies for 'Theft' and 'Unauthorized use of a motor vehicle'. He's a totally different man and has been for years, but that didn't seem to matter. Things really started looking up when he was hired by a great company in April of this year. In June of this year, the arthritis and nerve problems in my spine flared up and I wasn't able to walk for a few days. I have improved but it's a very slow process. I'm a young woman trapped in a very old woman's aching body. Our 6 member household lives in an old, run down 3 bedroom mobile home. All three of my boys are dyslexic and in 2 of them it's severe enough cause a lot of struggles educationally. A.D.H.D. is also a factor with my oldest son and it makes it really complicated for him to learn new information in school. My only daughter is embarrassed to have any company over and honestly, so am I. If you find it in your gracious hearts to help our family, I look forward to seeing you! If you feel more compelled to help another family in despair, please do! May God bless all of ya'lls lives with the same measure that you have blessed so many others!

  9. My husband and I have been together for 15 years, and have three wonderful children. My husband is a former U.S. Marine, he worked in a factory after. Sadly he is no longer able to work because three years ago he was diagnosed with a rare cancer called lypo sarcoma. Local doctors are unable to treat him forcing us to travel six hours away yo NYC where he underwent a 16 hour surgery and was hospitalised there for five weeks causing us to leave our children with my mother in our home. We learned only a year later the cancer was back. He has underwent chemotherapy and other experimental drud ,and the cancer still remains. Due to his illness we are unable to attend to all the nessary repairs needed in out home. I feel absolutely terrible when he comes home from treatments or surgery to see his home practically falling apart around him. This can not be a sterile safe environment for him. We so despertly need your help. My children also deserve a warm safe home they have hurt so much seeing their father suffer. Thank you for the consideration.

  10. I know, my reason isn't as severe as everyone else's. I just entered because my parents need this. They work all day but don't make that much. We live in a three bedroom 1 bathroom house. We are a family of 8, but my oldest sister moved out. My parents sleep in our basement that is also our laundry room and our pantry. our kitchen is very small and the sinks are peeling. We have had pipes burst and our kitchen has flooded multiple times. It's very crowded and no one has any space. We are constantly fighting due to the lack of room we have. We are renting and I don't think it is at all possible to get this done. We can't afford to buy a house. A few times we have gone without electricity for up to a week because we couldn't pay it. please help!

  13. My sister-in-law, Dawn Krabill, has Lupus. Her and her husband just bought a foreclosed home on beautiful land so they could make it in to her dream home…
Dawn has just found out she has Lupus Vascilitis, which attacks your heart and artries, and it is killing parts of her heart. Almost all of their "Dream Home" money is going to her health expenses…
Their home has is an unfinished house and needs walls, floors, ceilings, electricity, water, bedrooms for their 3 children.
I know there are a lot of people that post on here, giving their stories, and I myself would want to help all of them.
All I am asking is to please consider my sister-in-law. She is an amazing, beautiful, loving, strong lady and I would do anything for her, even go as far as to post a request on Extreme Home Makeover.

Thank you for your time and God Bless.

  14. In 2012, my brother passed away suddenly. My mom was devastated. Apon hearing about this, her best friend Sandy drove the 3 hours South to help with the funeral in any way possible. Sandy bought and cooked all of the food, and set everything up. After returning home, her twelve year old daughter, Jenna, was hit by a car. For over a year, she was in a coma. Now living at home, Jenna has some brain damage and is paralyzed from the neck down. Sandy spends all day, everyday, taking care of her. With what little funds she has going toward her daughters treatment, the house is falling apart, around them. A little help would go a long way for this family.

  15. I am Denise. In 2009, I got a call from social services, notifying me of my biological father dying. When I went to go see him, is when I first met Bill Campbell, Veronica Long, & Michael Campbell. They lived in the same trailor lot he did. Come to find out, they looked after my dad & kinda took care of him. Few days later, dad had past away. Since then, we have become great friends. I invite them over at least once a month, if not more, for home cooked meals or dine out. They live in a cramped, small & congested RV trailor. Honestly, not enough room to hardly walk. Veronica's dad just bought the piece of property next to his, that has a single family house on it. (Bought with no access inside house first)After everything was finalized, we went in house and OMG!! This house is definitely not livable. It definitely needs to be demolished. There's black mold just about everywhere, warped walls and floors. Holes in floors. Geez-Louise- I was finally happy for them, getting a house, and out of the trailor. But now, OMG-I wish, I had the money to help them out. Even it was to buy a decent standard trailor to put on property for them to live in. They don't have the money to rebuild or buy a standard trailor. What I admire most about them, is that they don't complain about what they have or don't! They lend a helping hand to anyone in need as much as possible. They just recently this week, moved their RV trailor over to propery and placed on back patio, so they could hook up water and electricity to function. I ask for your help in anyway possible for them. They deserve to have a sound roof over their heads. Especially, for their 12 year son, Michael. Have pictures of terrible house. Thank-you for your time:-))

  16. Hello, my name is Jennifer and I would like to tell my story. My childhood home was built in the 1800's and has been owned by my family for over 50 years. Back in 2009 my dad got very sick and was in and out of hospitals and nursing homes for the last 6 months of his life. My family really never had any money, but with God's help we survived the many trials he bestowed upon us. After my dad passed in 2010 my mother could not stay in our home so she moved into an apartment and over the following 2 years we cleaned out the family home. Over these past 2 years the home has been vacant. One of my children were going to move into the house, but him and his wife are no longer together. During the brief time they were going to take the house, my ex-daughter-in-law had my son tear the crap out of the inside of the house. They tore out floors, cabinets, doors, even a working wood burning stove and all its safety brick. The inside of my home looks like a tornado went thru. There is currently no running water due to leaks, no stove, no refrigerator, no floor in one section of the home, and the electrical is in very bad shape as well as most of the walls. I have taken possession of my childhood home and currently live in it with my husband and 2 minor children. We have to go to my mom's for showers and go to the nearby gas station to use the restroom. My husband has had 2 heart attacks within 5 years and he cannot do physical labor per his doctor. I work full time hours and struggle just to make ends meet on a daily basis, we never know what is going to go wrong next with our home. We are wishing for some help to get our home a place we are proud to call home. I pray each and every day that God will send us an angel that will help us with our home.

  17. Hey I want to make my bestfriend family happy. Their house is falling apart and her grandmother is very old and can't do for herself. Please help me help her.

  18. Hello! My name is Regina. Im a mother to 3 and a good wife to my husband. In 2008 my husband and I had gotten some bad new about our 2 month old son. He was diagnosed with biliary atresa which is that his bile ducts in his liver did not form correctly. Doctors tried to reverse it but it was a no go. So my son was required to get a liver transplant. He was on his last straw when we finally got that miracle call. Feb. 2009 he was reborn he got his second chance at life! Before, during and after his transplant as a mother I was too worried about my sons wel being as well as my daughters that I as a diabetic didnt take care of myself. And as a result to that im in last stage of kidney failure and currently on dialysis. With two people in our family that have medical issues, its hard to keep up on things. We are currently renting and love where we live. But this home has so many issues that we can not afford to fix and our landlord is too old and cant afford to hire someone to come fix up the house. Our deck is falling apart, wholes in the upstairs bed rooms. My room has no doors to have privacy and both bathrooms could use updating as well as the kitchen. we would love to buy the house from our landlord but just can not afford it at this time. As im on a wait hold list for a kidney transplant. Please help!Thank you! Pizzi-Espi Family

  21. Hi as I'm well aware of the people who are on this list of trying to better themselves and to seek the help of others my parents are in need of help WS well, my mother has many problems and I think its her house. They don't even have running water in the shower pipes, there's a small hole in the bathroom floor and they can't even start fires in the wood stove anymore because of the oil leak from the furnace. And on top of all of this they have to rely on the neighbor and a family member for good drinking water because they have the hard sulpher in the water. They use the sulpher water to bath in I live with them and I am unable to use the water so I end up using the drinking water to bath in because of skin irritation from the sulpher in the water. And our pipe is all dug up hence the sulpher in the water, we also have the bad black mold

  22. Last year(2013)right before Christmas my mom became very sick.We thought she was coming down with the flu.She was in pain, could barely walk, missing days at work,we didn't know what was going on.She went to the walk in clinic and they said she had a bladder infection and gave her some medicine, but she wasn't getting better. So she went to her doctor, they did some tests and said she would have to wait for the results. When the results came back they were abnormal they told her to come back to the office to see what else they could do to find out what was going on,there was nothing else they could do,so they told her to go to the hospital. The doctors at the hospital found a blood clot in her lung. She stayed in the hospital for a week taking medicines for the blood clot and doing tests to see where the blood clot came from. They discharged her from the hospital and she came to live with me and the grandchildren until she got better, but she didn't,after they found the first blood clot they found two more blood clots. She went back to the hospital for the second time and the results for the tests from the first visit came back, she found out she had breast cancer, but she didn't know what stage. Now she has three blood clots and breast cancer. She notice her leg is getting bigger and hurting, before they discharge her the second time I ask the nurse is that normal for her leg to be swollen like that and the nurse says yes it's because of the clot it will go down.My mom is back at my house again, until she gets better, but she is getting worse. She has to go back to the hospital for the third time, this time we found out what stage she's in,she's in stage 4.We also find out the cancer has spread and it's a rare cancer too,she just goes down hill from there. She was discharged for the third time and last time.My mom came back to my house to live,my two sisters and hospice did too.The doctors said my mom was going to die the day or night before she was discharged from the hospital, she lived almost a week after she was discharged for the third time.My mom Ms.Therese James dies on 02/15/2014 the day after Valentine's Day at the age of 49.My mom left me,my two sisters, and brother her house, which currently my two younger sisters are living in.I want to move back in with my sisters so I can help because they're only 21 and 19 years old and it's very stressful taking care of their household and mines at the same time, but before me and my four children can move back in I need to make some room for me and them and I don't have the money to do that right now or anytime soon.It would be a blessing to me and my family if y'all could help us.

  23. Hi, my name is Latora Thomas. I love your show and I think it's nice to help other people finish what they can't. I am writing because of my situation. My dad and my mom started building our home when I was in elementary school but they never got around to finishing it. I have four brothers and I am the only girl. We are out of school now. My mom passed away from cervical cancer when I was 16 and my dad has had 3 surgeries and he really not able to do as much as he can. He tries to do what he can around the house. Our home has holes in the floors, walls, and ceilings. Our bathrooms has mold in the shower walls. The floors have water under them. It's hard for our house to stay warm in the winter and cool in the summer because of the holes. It's hard for him to get around because of his transportation keeps going out. I just hate to see my dad work so hard and it seems like he doesn't get anywhere. I would just like to see our home finished. It's me, my dad and my brother that staying there and sometimes my nephew. We have had problem with snakes being in the house. I would hate for someone to get bitten by one. If you could help us out a little bit that wild be wonderful…Thank you

  27. Hello I am writing this letter on behalf of my mother in law "Lolly" who has recently became a widow April 24,2013 in her 70's. A mother of 4,grandmother of 10 and great grandmother to 8. She bought this home after a unfortunate accident involving a train around 42 years ago here in San Fernando Valley, CA.I would like to request a extreme home makeover for her since I feel she is very worthy. We (My husband and I) also reside here and, are all on a fixed income we struggle to get things done around this place which is a lot of property.Especially since my husband took a fall off a ladder and has a u shaped tear in his left rotating cuff and is scheduled for surgery August 7th 2014. Unfortunately since my father in law "Michael" passed away on their 47th wedding anniversary to the hour! We've watched not only my mother in law go down hill but the house especially. Mike was a professional landscaper who worked side by side with his father helping out with the business ,came out in the Better Homes & Garden magazine, then a missionary who then became a ordained minister and served his community then by blessing others who didn't have (Churches, Clothing, Food & Homes as far as Mexico just to name a place his took his missionary work that far! Rest in peace Mike! We pray for a blessing for her always. If you will please bless her we would all be so deeply grateful to see her happy for the rest of her days. Thank you for your time and consideration.Feel free to contact us.

  30. Hello I am writing this letter because I am living in a one bedroom apartment raising my 1 1/2 year old grandson. I am a violent rape survivor I suffer from PTSD and anxiety I am under medical care. During the rape I was almost dead three times in one night, I have documented proof if needed! I also am a domestic violence survivor I fleed my childrensfather in 2002 and went into hiding at Long Beach Domestic Violence Shelter and never went back. I am on SSI for my PTSD I want to provide a better quality life for my grandson and I but with limited income this apartment is all we have we ride the bus in over 100° heat I give my time to the community in different ways and don't let my past run my life, I recived a letter from a commander of the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Departmen about me giving back to the community! Also I live in fear daily to have stability in my own home witj an alarm that no one can take would leave me forever grateful, please consider me for a real home that I don't have to feel can be taken from me. If you consider me and my grandson i'll provide any paper work you need. Thank you for this opportunity to apply for a life changing experience. Jennifer Boxley

  31. Hi. My name is Karen and my story is not an emotional one. I have a pretty normal life; married with three young children. I am a teacher working with kids with special needs. My husband is a preschool teacher. Neither of our jobs make a lot of money but we love what we do and wouldn't trade our jobs for more money. In fact, we are always thinking of ways to help more of our students. Our house is a small ranch and definitely needs updated. However, like many Americans, we live paycheck to paycheck. We don't qualify for any assistance with daycare or food because we are right on the line for that, making just a little bit too much. We are average low to middle income family that doesn't get support but struggles to do anything more than keep afloat with our bills. A new home would reduce stress in our lives. I am sure that we are definitely not the neediest family, but we are deserving. Thank you for listening.

  32. Hi, I am Bethany. I am 18 years old. I am sending this on behalf of my mom. She has been my backbone. She was a single mom for 90 percent of my life. She is now married and we are still living paycheck to paycheck. She lives in a trailer that is too small so I can no longer live with them, I am currently living with my grandmother. The walls in the house are broken apart, the floors are caving in. There are so many problems with this house. But that's not all, I want my mother to get this because she does so much for everyone else and leaves herself out. She has been through many hardships. Things you could never understand. She is currently a youth pastor at a little church and is trying to go back to college so we can all have a better life. My mom has always found a way for us to be comfortable. Thank you.

  33. TO the management of Extreme MakeOver,

I am not sure if my message is part of your jurisdiction but I will do it by faith. I was blessed to visit a ministry outreach home in Rwanda Africa that's assisting orphans mainly little children and one of the Outreach foundation's goal is to be able to build a house and classrooms that will provide permanent home and school for the orphans. If this is something that your foundation is able to reach..please consider the opportunity. I have seen how your foundation changed the lives of many that are in need. I hope and pray that God will send you over to the Faith Village in Africa. Feel free to contact me for more information. God Bless!

My mom is a single stay at home mom, mine and my brothers dad were never in our lives and still aren't, my mom depends on a check that my uncle gets every month. But here where it gets worse, about 6 years ago my mom's dad died… When he died it felt like everything fell apart and we lost everything. My grandfather was the most sweetest, most kindest person you could ever meet, he was my mom's bestfriend. After he died, my uncle died 3 days later, and 6 months after that my
grandma died. Our family was torn apart over greef. We pretty much slept our life away for 3 years. My brother had a nervous break down because of my grandpa passing. My grandpa left us the house we're living in now. We all grew up here but it's falling apart. I keep asking my mom if we can move but she says no cause it's almost paid off, but it needs so much work. My brother and I have a room but my mom doesn't. She sleeps in the living room so we can have a room. I think she deserves better. She has have her life to me and my brother so I need your help to give back to her. We need your help

  36. My name is Brittany Boothe. I am 22 years old. Im contacting you in regards to my father. He doesn't have a house, he is currently living in a 2 bedroom apartment with 4 kids. He has no space of his own, he sleeps on the couch. He is living out of coolers. He was hurt back in 2007 when he got hit by a road side bomb in Iraq. He was also told by social security he had to pay back 31 thousand dollars. keep in mind he has 4 small children he takes care of. he is a wonderful father to 10 beautiful children and he would give you the shirt off his back. It kills me to watch my father struggle. This man has been through enough. If you could help him I would be so happy.
    Thank you

  37. I don't really know where to start I wanted to take a minute and tell you why I think my family as a whole needs your help.I live with my mom and my 18 year old brother. Growing up we never had it easy. My single mother had a family who didn't approve of her biracial children so she was all alone. Dating men who beat her, I remember watching the violence just as a toddler. It seemed like we had come so far as a family since then, Her making amends with my grandfather, he decided to help us. Then everything came crashing down one long night we will never forget. We got a knock on the door telling us he had been in a car wreck. We raced to the hospital where doctors gave us little hope. After months in the hospital they released my grandfather in a vegetative state into our custody. He lived 2 years but that was the hardest 2 years of my life. I was 15 at this time and had to clean his trache, help my mom with his catheter, his meds, and changing his diapers. This gave my mom strength to go to nursing school and she actually graduated. We thought we would be set. Little did we know tragedy struck again when our house burned down to the ground leaving us with an 800 a month note. We have to apply for credit cards and max them out just to get groceries. Please help us. God bless you

  40. Hello. My name is Stanley and I am writing this for my sister Rachel. She has a ranch house in Forked River NJ. My sister has an extreme love for animals and cats in particular. Consequently, she took on way too many. I believe that this home has the potential for a dramatic turnaround. My sister is a beautiful middle aged woman who is highly educated yet she finds herself down and unable to get out from under the mess she got into. Thank you for listening. God bless all the other people here who need help. He is a God of unlimited resources and I extend love to the others in need.

  41. Hello, my name is Laura, I have always wanted to run a foster home for young children, but I can't afford to start it, I would like your help, to make my dreams an millions of children that don't have a lot too have a home work staying at until their forever home comes, I would love to hear back from you.

  42. Hello, my name is Elizabeth. I'm the youngest of 4 children. My parents have been married for 32 years and have always struggled with homes. When they were first married, they rented homes and they weren't always the best in the world. Then one day they found the home we still live in today. My parents have lived in this home for about 25 years and have always dreamed of one day fixing it up more or moving. They have never been able to either one. My mom, Teresa, has been a teacher for about 22 years and my father, Ken, had been building trucks for JB Hunt until his shoulders and knees couldn't take the pain anymore. My mother recently lost her job as a teacher at the same school I graduated from. She had been there for 13 years. It was her LIFE. She was fired through some sort of loop hole that has never made sense to us. We are now living off of my dad's very small income and it's about to get even harder. My mother has tried finding jobs but since she is older and more experienced, she is un-hireable. I would love to help out around the home but I only work part time and I go to the community college as well. I'm asking to nominate my parents, especially my mother, because I fear she will never have the dream home she has always wanted. I don't want us to have to move and leave this home. I grew up here and I love this home. If I could take over this home I would. I would love for my mother to come home to a house that she loves as much as I do but that is impossible with our situation. I know there are many other people who post their stories and many of them deserve this opportunity. But please, consider our home for a remodel. Thank you.

  43. We're a family of four and we live in one little room(4.5m by 4.5m). And we're also not financially stable either as the breadwinner had passed on almost two years ago now.As a result of this a man had offered to provide us with a home big enough for us all and a business opportunity for our dear mother to sort us out financially as well. He promised to give us the house fully furnished and decorated. He left us with the house furnished as promised though his work could never compare to your team's creativity. But the most painful problem was that on the day i confronted him and asked him when my mother was actually going to see that the house is registered on her name as he promised us when he approached us. He simply disappeared never to be found again reason being that he tried to hijack the place for us and a day or two after that we were thrown out of the house like dogs.We were so thankful for having this man in our lives only to find he came into our lives to turn it upside down, this had affected us very badly even my academic performance, I can't believe that somebody cold be that cruel to us especially because he approached us. We were lucky but also not so lucky to be able to return to our little room which had been our home for 10 years now, because it's a very unsafe living environment. It is also a very very…very unhealthy home as we had to do everything is this one room, we had no proper bathroom but a single toilet which we have to share with 75 other people you can imagine how disgusting it is, it's worse then the public bathrooms. We know our chances our slim as we are so far away and because we don't own a home at all, but we trust that our dear Heavenly Father will help us through this and help you so that you can help us.I thank you in advance for your help.

  44. 46. I met Wanda Armour in 1973. She was my gymnastics coach. She lives in a home that had renovation started but her husband died suddenly this past month. She has helped thousands of impoverished kids learn gymnastics at reasonable rates. She has built of the self esteem of many young girls and taught me a trade that pushed me into the field of teaching. I owe so much to her for her self sacrifice. She has a need now and is unable to repair the home she has lived in. I fear she will lose it if we have a bad winter. She has two daughters and a son. They are adults, but I believe Wanda deserves to finally get a break. Please help me give back to her.

  47. My name is Hailey Henk. I am 12 years old. My great grandmother is Rose. She has diabetes and kidney problems but still takes care of my two cousins everyday. My cousins mom passed away when they were very young and their dad is in and out of prison. My grandmother has taken care of others children plus raised five of her own. My grandmother is in her seventies and shares a room with two teenage girls. The house is in bad condition but is livable. There are many issues and she needs help. Thank you and I hope you take my grandma into consideration for a new home so she can have a decent home and a room of her own after helping others her whole life and is still doing that till this day.

  48. My best friends mom has been through a lot. She opens her door to all of her daughters friends and never turns people away who need a place to stay even though she can't afford it. When she was married her husband let a lot of things lapse in their house, and now she is left to deal with everything. She needs a new roof, the ceiling is falling down inside and she cant afford to fix it. There are many repairs to be done and normally her dad who lives next door would help, but he is fighting cancer and the outcome isn't looking good so he does what he can but it isn't much these days. She has a hard time asking for help which is why I am contacting you. I really hope you will be able to help. There is so much more to her story but she's very closed off and i don't know how else or what else she needs to help her. i really hope you can help me help the woman who opened her arms to me when i had no one else. Thank you!!!!!

  52. My name is Carol Green, my husband Hason Green is a disabled veteran due to severe PTSD! We have 5 children ages 6 and under! Myiah 6, nevaeh 3, Eva 20 months, and twins Houston and Tacoma 6 months. We are currently stuck renting a 1000 square foot home because we cannot afford to buy. My husband works overnight and does odd jobs during the day and goes to school so we can survive. My children suffer because there are two in one room and three sharing another. We have two children who suffer from kidney diseases which requires me to stay home, also daycare would be more expensive then me staying home! I couldn't even make enough money for daycare to be covered. It would cost over 1000 dollars a week for daycare for my children! My husband has served two deployment in Iraq an still works so hard for our family! I just wish we could have enough room for my children to be happy and have the thigs that they deserve! Thank you so much for your time!
    The green family!

  53. Please consider Marengo Community Church in Marengo, MI. as a possible renovation site. This building constructed in 1857, has been the Spiritual home to many and continues to house a small congregation, faithfully meeting to this day. Our place of worship has fallen into a state of disrepair with an aging largely senior fellowship and few financial resources. As the Pastor, I serve as a tentmaker ministry serving this church without pay, for several years. Over the past year storm damage as well as simple wear and tear have threatened our ability to continue meeting in this historic and beloved place of worship. Please consider the impact your show will have on the small fellowship but vital people of faith at Marengo Community Church.

  54. Hi! I would love a working link to be able to apply and nominate a wonderful, loving family in Union Point Ga please!

  55. Hello, I know there are a lot of people in need of something and my family is no different. It is my husband, myself and our 5 daughters. My husband is a truck driver and is on the road 2 weeks at a time and home only every other weekend. Our girls and I see him 4 days a month. Our house is in need of some serious repair. We have plaster walls cracking everywhere, ceiling in dining room falling down from where last owners took the support out of the stairway, our 9 year old daughter is sleeping on the landing upstairs because we don't have the money to hire someone to finish her room and my husband isn't home enough to finish it. We really can't afford what all needs to be done in this house from bedrooms, to bathrooms, to kitchen to all of it. I only work about 20 hours a week due to the fact I have fibromyalgia, 2 hernitated discs in my back, degenerative disc disease, deterioration of both knee caps and arthritis. So my limited hours doesn't help pay much of anything since its only min wage. We also have a daughter that was born at 26 weeks and has her own set of problems and at times can make life challenging to say the least. We just don't have the resources to fix what needs to be fixed in this house. Please consider us for this.. It would be greatly appreciated.

  56. I got 5 kids live in a 3 room home but trid to make it three room but don't look that good my girl loves her chickens she whunt to have a chicken havin for them but I just can't do it for her I fill so bad win thay need things I can't do it for them I geve up all for me just for my kids

  57. My application isn't for me, but it's for my parents, my parents have lived in their home for over 20 years with all very old appliances, my mom works day and night 3 jobs just to pay the bills for the house. I honestly don't remember the last time she did something for herself. She's never got her nails done, because she can't afford to do that and then support the family cause money has always been so tight. My dad works at a factory but October 2013 I got the worst call of my life . My dad was hit twice on the freeway and left their to die. Finally a car saw him unconscious and called 9-1-1. He was in ICU not giving a straight answer if he was gonna live or not. A month before that happened I moved to Oregon and caught the first plane back to california. That was the hardest time of my entire families life. A month before his accident all 3 of our cars broke down. Not having transportation and having my mom crying to me from being so stressed about so much going on at once. And that week someone ran a stop sign , hitting me in my car , and leaving me still with hand nerve problems , back and neck problems. Making it hard for me to work to be able to help my parents back home. Our lives were just in so much tragedy last year. Growing up my family was very poor and no matter how poor we were my parents welcomed an incredible amount of people to live with us for free who needed it. Cousins, to strangers. To friends. To any family. For 11 years now my beatiful cousin and her amazing kids have lived with my parents helping them with bills and chores. And let me tell ya. It gets very crowded with 8people In one house. But we love them living there. My parents have never been able to take us on a vacation like all my other friends have gone on. And growin up I didn't understand why, but today I appreciate the trips to the zoo am the small things. If I could ever repay my parents with anything in the world it's to help them with their house, whether if it's with the show helping me or not, updating their house has always been a goal of mine todo for them. Their master bedroom is plain and horrible and the kitchen looks like it was hit with the 50's. My life goal is to give my parents a. Dream house nothing more. This will make their lives so much easier and my parents deserve one thing nice at least in their lives for all they've done for everyone in my town and how little they've done for themselves.

  58. Hi, my name is Erica and I stay in Americus, Ga. I am 23 years old and I am the mother of 2 amazing kids. My heart goes out to all the people that you all have helped and all the people willing to help. My mom passed in a tragic car accident when I was one, a drunk driver ran through an intersection and my mom was gone before she made it to the hospital. My sister and I has had it hard growing up and I just want to be able to provide my kids with what we didn't have. I am currently a stay at home mom, due to my circumstances I have not been able to gain employment. Being so far out in the country with out any transportation has been stressful. There are days where I worry about things a 23 year old should not even think about. My kids mean the world to and I am willing to go to the end for them. I know that there are people who have it far worse than me, and if I could give everyone in need of home a place to call home, I would be more than honored. I am currently on section 8 and with that I have select places I am allowed to stay, my home has been a blessing from God when we have had no where to go, but being the mother of two young kids the living conditions make me highly uncomfortable. I feel that if I had a better home to give my kids I could really show them how all things are possible. Even if I'm not chosen, you all are blessings from God. Thank you for listening.

  59. Hello my name is Jack Wilbur and here is our story. When my father was 9 years old he was struck by a van and dragged down the road, he was pronounced dead by paramedics but by the grace of God he was brought back to life… Like some kinda of second chance. I came came along when he was 21, through lies and betrayal my father lost me to social service system. Three years later he had another and five years later another if you lost count that's three of us boys. After my other brothers kinda left him and went to live with their mother he had none if us. Recently my dad lost his mother to cancer, a few years ago he lost his step dad to cancer and now he is about to lose his grandmother to cancer. My dad has tried his best to provide for his kids to the best of his abilities even for my self who just recently came back into his life however, his abilities are becoming more slim. Due to the accident when he was 9 my dad has 3 months to 3 years until he is completely deaf and the glasses he has now once those are done he will be completely blind. My dad tries to help everyone he can and do what he can but due to his hearing he can't get a job so he is on social assistance. My dad always want to have his own house where he can grow old and have his grand children around but the way his sight and hearing are going that will never happen. At this moment my father, step mother and myself are living is a small two bedroom apartment where I share a playroom with my little sister and use it as my room. When my little brothers come over for a visit they don't have there own place to call there own, they sleep on the couches in the living room. Please we really would appreciate your help.

  62. Hi my name is dominique paul and my grandmother Lula Bolling has a sickness where her whole left leg gives out on her at times and her right leg has spasms on them . . She has no mobility in her legs or her arms . Her bones are deteriorating as we speak, when she falls she has to crawl to the phone to call a family member in order to get up . It's dead weight on trying to get her up and she lives on her own . She can barely lift her arms , she can't cook or clean anymore and she can only raise her arms to about a torso height . She burned herself to the point that she can no longer cook for herself. She has a walker and a wheel chair but her house isn't handicap accessible so she can barely get around. It would be an amazing blessing to my grandmother and family if you could help our grandmother get a better place so she can be able to get around her house more and keep her from constantly falling.

  63. Hi I am Willie single unemployed guy,due to me loosing my job being unfarely dismissed, I not only could not provide for myself, but also my family, I'm am now sepperated from my family, I don't know what it is to stay at people coz I grew up in a close knit family, living thousands of kilometres from your family is horrific, my health has retreated due to this,I lost both my parents at the age of 3months old, have been struggling all my life ever since, I so wanted to study further and become a sea rescue worker, but my dreams was shattered becoz I had to go work to provide for the family, due to me loosing my work I lost everything, all I have is my dignity and that no one van take away from me, if I can get this dream come true, my life can be made whole and restoration can surely take place

  64. My daughter and two grandchildren lost their home to a fire in January and have been unable to get another one. She lost her job due to her health 2 months after the house burned so she has had no home for her and her children. I know there are many deserving people that need a home and I believe my daughter and grandchildren are deserving too. As a CNA she spent 13 years taking care of others now I would like to do something to care for her so she can focus on her health and know that her and the kids have a home.

  67. My name is Brian .I live in Kentucky and my family and I have finally hit ROCK BOTTOM!!!! We bought what we thought was our dream house which we thought was in 2008 ..we have 3 kids and at the time our credit was SHOT due to the fact that my twin sons were born six weeks early. We thought we had insurance and apparently we didn't and ended owing over $96,000 dollars in doctors bills and on top of that I lost my job due to the economy so our only choice was to file BANKRUPTCY after purchasing our house. Our first week in the house we had to replace the water heater because it was leaking out the top leaving the ground wire completely submerged.. Our first month our electric bill was OVER $500 because the furnace was 56,000 but and the house is approximately 2,000sq ft.. I crawled under the house and the ductwork is 12" and is not even connected or if it is using spray foam.. A month later after being shown a bill for the septic tank being emptied it needs to be done again.. As to the findings its not even connected to the lateral lines so you can imagine. I had to replace all the plumbing because the owner had all the hot water lines on PVC.. The bathroom floor fell through because he nailed new wood to rotted wood.. A pipe in the front yard busted where he had all the plumbing running into a creek..there was a dummy vent pipe that I found where water has just been pouring through for the five years we've been here. I looked in the attic hatch and the whole attic is loaded with BLACK mold and the attic is abt 1 ft tall.everyone stays sick at my house and we are out of MONEY. We have no heat no ac and this is a FHA house that was supposedly inspected …please help us before we go into foreclosure

Their house is in really bad condition, the walls are moldy and there are roaches EVERYWHERE! there house is infested and cant get rid of them. They try and try and don't succeed.. Im 19 years old and I do not live with my parents anymore. I really would like to help them out as much as I can please read my story I am pitting this story out there. Everything is now in God's hands and thank you.

  69. I know there are many people these days that are in need of help and assistance in many aspects of life. I am one of those. I am a single grandmother trying to give my grandkids a better life. I am also a cancer survivor and retired Military. I purchased a double wide home in August of 2013. I was paying $975 in rent for a small 3 bedroom that needed repairs. I had been there 7 years. My landlord stated that if I wanted to move that I had to rent or buy from her or otherwise she would hold me liable for all different kind of fees. So, here I go on a journey to find a place for us. She kept pushing a piece of property 18 miles away. I kept saying no but one day after many other attempts I went. It was a beautiful double wide on plenty of shaded land for the kids. A screened in back porch and a front porch. Plenty of rooms and 3 bathrooms. Well I have been in the home almost a year and out of the 3 bathrooms we have to use one and it's the one that had a leak and the floor fell through. You can see the ground. The insurance company wouldn't pay because it wasn't "sudden and accidental". Now I have a 3×2 foot hole in the floor, sheetrock cut out of the wall from the adjuster and mice sneaking in. Then the AC pipe started leaking and I had to have that repaired. The Master bathroom is a disaster! Someone put in a nice looking tile shower. Little did I know that it wasn't done right. After almost 8 months of showering in it the tile began to crack and the walls swell. Again, the insurance will not pay for damages because it is not "sudden and accidental". I appealed the original denial and they sent a Senior Adjuster out just yesterday. I crawled under the house with her and she showed me how rotted the wood and sheet rock are. She also showed me where the shower meets the the corner wall in the living room and where it is rotted and on the outside of the home where the water has rotted the wall. While under the house I then realized that my home was not on a concrete slab as stated in my papers and it was just on beams. I have contacted an attorney to see what I can do only to be told to go to arbitration…I cannot afford to fix one piece of sheetrock much less go to arbitration. I am in desparate need of someone to help me fix the holes in the bathroom floors, the walls and overhaul the master shower, hanging insulation and plumbing leaks. I would think that my realtor would have looked out for me being as I rented from her for 7 years but she stood to make money as the realtor for both myself and the seller. Nothing was disclosed. I have fought it and did not win. I tried to move my grandkids into a home hoping to give them a better chance in life only to end up with worse living condidtions plus the added mice and bugs that creep in through the holes. I humbly thank you in advance for any consideration you give to my situation or any advice/help you can offer.

  70. Hello my Name is Kristey McDaniel and i truly show sympathy for the individuals asking for help if i could i would help as many people as possible, my family is very large there are nine of us, my husband, my self, and our seven children ranging from age 16 to 2 years old and although we cannot ask you to help us fix our house due to the fact that we have no house, we actually rent right now and the trailer we are living in is really small and is simply not big enough for us. My husband and I moved to Las Cruces New Mexico exactly seven years ago this month and with the help of my father we were able to live with him for a few months, but ten people in a four bedroom was just not working my kids see their friends homes and ask why they cannot have bigger rooms why are our rooms so small my girls room is more like a walk-in closet than a bedroom my two youngest share a room with my eldest and that is hardly working and than our two other boys share a room, but with the kids getting older every year the pressure to get a larger home keeps burning in the back of my head the truth is we simply cannot afford to get a bigger home. My husband works his butt off literally, but even with our income combined we are barely making ends meet much less try to get a new home, I do not ask this for myself or my husband, but for our children they are all such great kids and it breaks my heart that i cannot give them a beautiful home that they deserve, this month our landlord simply ignored our concern about a leak in the roof and the roof caved in thank god none of the children were around the pieces of roof that fell to our living room floor, staff of extreme make over we are not asking for a renovation but for a home we live in New Mexico and i do not believe there has ever been a show in Las Cruces New Mexico, also my kids are constantly asking when we are going to Disneyland to see the princesses and other members of the Disney family i completely break down due to the fact we are barely making the bills and rent much less taking the children anywhere my kids have never left the state of New Mexico which I feel is really sad they do not understand there is a whole world out there that is beautiful and huge i do not know if our family even has a chance at this but i believe in a higher power and me coming onto this web page has to be some kind of sign I did not know you can ask to be on the show… if you all could help us it would be really really appreciated and our lives would be forever changed I know our shout is one in a million, but it is worth a shot, my kids mean the world to me and if there is anything i could do besides love them to make them happy I will do anything, our family has to been through hard times everyday is a struggle for us I dont even know if we are going to be able to afford the water and light bill this month even if we did not get a brand new home built from scratch a fixer upper would do for us please consider us and our prayers are with you and all the other families out there in need of assistance much love the McDaniel-Sisneros Family

  71. Hi, my name is Shykemiah and I'm 16 years old. My grandmother & great grandmother are best women that I know. Both of my grandmas are getting older and so is their house. My great grandma is 77 years old and she grew up and raised her kids in the same house. The house is literally falling apart and it breaks my heart to see them spend money to try to fix little things when the house is at it's end. The floors in the hall is cracked and you can see the ground outside. The roof/ceiling had so many holes that it can't be repaired and bats and birds are allowed in the house at anytime. Bugs and other creatures find themselves in the house also. The house doesn't have central air or heat and on the winter there are heaters in each room to try to keep the house warm. In the summer there are fans. At 57 years old my grandma is working 3 jobs to try as make ends meet and keep the house standing but eventually she won't be able to. I'm begging that someone can help us. Thank You.

  72. I am wanting to nominate a family for a possible home makeover. A friend and a co-worker of mine, Martha Aguila and her family, husband Oscar, her parents (mom & dad), and her three children, Karina 18, Miguel 12, and Alexa 4. Miguel is wheel chair bound due to some medical issues that he's had since a very young age. They have made some modifications to the house so Miguel can move around but as he gets older he needs more room. The house has very small doorways, some so small that he can't get his wheelchair through. The flooring is unlevel, the house is settling. The way for Miguel to get in and out of the house are two metal ramps, the type you use for trailers, laid on the porch at an angle. Any help you can give them to make it more suitable for Miguel and easier for the rest of the family would be greatly appreciated. Thank you and God Bless.

  73. I am sending this in for my daughter, Tina Wood, who has stage 4 appendiceal cancer. She had surgery in November 2013 and underwent 3 months of chemo. She is so in need of her old house being redone. Her husband is wheelchair bound and they live on a mere check of 800.00 and some odd dollars a month. Please consider her and make her life a little less drastic. she lives in Bonifay Florida.

  74. My name is Rabin, I've had the same job for years (Living on one paycheck). About two years ago I got laid back due to a back injury at work and have to take various medications (Blood pressure, Cholesterol , Sugar). I have a family of four including myself, my wife, daughter 14,and son 8. My daughter soon to be a freshman in high school is aspiring to be an Oceanographer (Fact: In spring [birth season] male Sockeye Salmon die for there offspring) while my son is interested in becoming an Zoologist (Fact: Cheetahs don't roar they meow and hiss). As old as they are they act like toddlers and play like toddlers too. Yet they are very mature and wise, both have the love and respect for animals, art, nature, and sports. They understand everything that has a heart beat and/or breathes should have a fair chance at life that if you willingly take that life away for no reason it isn't fair (But that's the animal kingdom for you)and that life is not short, humans can live to be well over 100 years old while Monarch Butterfly's live between 2-6 weeks! My wife who's into the latest trends, gardening, and photography. I myself enjoy the simple things like antiques, architecture, the culinary arts, and gardening. Like any parent I want the best for my children. My dream is to live in a family home with acres of land by the water raising animals and crops coming home with a dog by my side relaxing by the fire place walking on the hard wood floors to my chef kitchen making food for family and friends with the fresh produce grown on the land, and watching my children grow up along side my wife. And this is the chance.

    -Rabin
