  1. Dear Extreme Home Makeover, I have always enjoyed your heart touching show! You people are God Sent for so many people! At this time I have a very dear family friend who is dire need of a home makeover. Roger, who has been paralyzed from the waist down since is was 27. Not only did he take for himself for all these years but he also single handedly raised his only son Lee. Recently Rog became victim of a life threatning disease known as Necrotizing Fascitis. He has under went more that 20 surgeries and is possibly facing more along with extensive therapy to regain his ability to take care of himself. Roger still lives in the same mobile home that he raised Lee in and it is in very poor condition. He would truly be blessed to come home to a brand new home that he can easily get around in! Please take his story into consideration and may God bless you all!

  3. Dear home makeover,
my daughter attends Marysville Pilchuck high school. On October 24th 2014, tragedy struck in our community as a student opened fire in the cafeteria at lunch that day. All lives but 1 were lost and we are extremely blessed to have him with us today. Due to the incident the students now resort the eating lunch in the gymnasium, which complicates many things as you could imagine. On behalf of my community I would like to ask you to put our story into consideration. We are in deep need of a new cafeteria. This gift would make the day so much easier for not only staff but students. I know that there are many other people in need in other ways, but this would mean so much to our grieving community.

  5. My name is Keesha Garrett, I am sending this message on behalf of my best friend for over 20 years Yreva Muhammad.  On September 5, 2014 Yreva Muhmmad's life changed as her husband of 14 years and high school sweetheart, Robert Muhammad died in a tragic death one day before his 40th birthday while at a work event. Robert Muhammad who is African American was a student Minister for the Nation of Islam in Grand Rapids, Michigan. He was on a boat with seven of his colleagues and he suspiciously drowned in Mukegeon Michigan. Authorities in the area ruled it as an accident, however a second autopsy ruled it as a homicide. Yreva Muhammad was left alone to raise her children.  Robert was a well-respected man in his community and many people loved and admired him. He was selfless and would give his last to someone in need regardless of their beliefs. Robert loved everyone. Now his family is in need.

Yreva has lived in , Grand Rapids Michigan since 2000. Her home was built in 1925  and is 1800 square feet a two story three bedroom house with one bathroom. The four boys share a room and the three girls share a room, the youngest girl's crib is located in Yreva's room.  She has limited space and is in need of a home makeover and possible expansion Yreva wants to expand their attic and  finish her basement to a living space.

She home schools her children with the exception of the oldest and recently had to return to the workforce as a  Coordinator for an after-school program. Her home is in need of repairs and organization. I am writing to ask if you can help my dear friend as she has no family in Grand Rapids, Michigan, although her sisters, mother and mother-in-law visits often to help from Flint, MI and Washington DC.

  6. Hello my name is Michael Fox, I would like to nominate my family, the Fox family of Jerome, Idaho. My mother does not know I am doing this, if we get nominated I would love it be surprised! My family and I have been through so much over the years. For starters I was in an accident 11 years ago when I was 7 years old, I was climbing over our fence when I fell and landed on the back of my neck, when that happened I ended up paralyzed from the neck down for two months, those two months I spent up in Boise, Idaho at the Elks rehab center. at the end of the month I was able to walk only short distances, I was technically still in a wheelchair. I am in a wheelchair to this day and I have a big surgery coming up to correct my scoliosis. Anyway enough about me this is about my family not just me I have one brother John, and two sisters Navy and Alysia, we all have a hereditary disease which is called multiple hereditary exostosisease or (MHE) this disease makes our lives harder than normal peoples lives. The children and I have to go to multiple surgeries to remove these bony plates before they end up hurting us! My mom has had to deal with this with us for the past 18 years! She is the strongest woman that I know, she ended up having to have a surgery a few years ago, because she had a ruptured and herniated discs. This has made our lives even harder than usual, but somehow we still keep fighting to have at least somewhat normal lives. With me being in a wheelchair and everyone else having a problem with their body in one way or another. It would be an amazing blessing for the extreme makeover group to build us the home that we all need! Please help us! Thank you for your time!

  7. Hi Ty, My Name is Salimah I'm 18 I live with my Two twin Siblings & a Single mom. My family has been struggling since I was about 9. We live in a three bedroom house in Detroit that's falling apart, my mom doesn't want to move because she was born & raised in this house in 1979, but it's old in 2009 I was in a furnace fire & burned off the skin on my hands, but its coming back, I sleep in the basement its not a room but urs some thing, been In the basement since 2011. I put up plastic in a corner if the basement & called it a room. I don't get any heat down here so I bought a heater & it barley works, I keep it close to my bed to stay warm, with the fear of it catching fire and on rainy days it floods down here. The twins rooms both have window issues & I when it snows, snow comes in the window . I can say my mom has and OK room thats were we go to sit & hang out. Our kitchen is the worst of all, the celling is caving in kind of, & has really bad leakage so we can't cook when it rains. My family has been through A LOT & This would be a blessing.

  9. My names alyssa an I'm writing to inform you about my family. Our child life has not been the best me and my family have been through a lot trying to just keep a home for a year but most the time we would have to move out because we couldn't afford it. then have to find the closest shelter to stay at while still trying to get through school. It seems like most of my life we have had to depend on somone no matter how bad they treated us because that was our only hope. A few years later I had 2 new little sisters who are now 1 and 3 and we are still struggling. Always having to move from school school never being able to be in sports because we simply can't afford it or have to move each year. I could just really use y'all's help. I just want my little sisters to have a home to grow up in and a yard to play in and not have to worry about where I'm going to sleep this week or next. Unfortunately my mother has no job because she can't afford a car or baby sister so she could try. All I wish is to have a home for my family ex specially my baby sisters because they deserve it so much. Everyday I see people going home to their beautiful houses while I come home to my grandmothers because that's where im staying at the moment that has no heat or air condition No flooring, no doors, etc. I've never had a stable home and I wish more then anything I could for my family have one and not have to worry about a home for my family and I would like to finish out my teenage years being a normal teenager and playing sports and not worrying about a house. I pray and pray every night for help and this is the last thing I can think to do so please home makeovers help me and my family out.
Thanks and god bless you all,
    Alyssa

  10. Hello, beautiful angels of Extreme Makeover Home Edition!
I'm reaching out to you in the hopes that you could help a coworker of mine, Lisa. Her and her husband have started buliding a house, but have hit a few financial snags along the way. She was diagnosed with cancer in her kidneys. She then got good news that it was gone. Some time later she learned the cancer was in her lungs. Now, the cancer is in her brain. My coworkers and I love Lisa. She insists she must keep working to make ends meet and to not be a burden on her husband. I do not know what the future holds for her but she is a fighter with a positive attitude. She loves the Lord with all her heart. It's so hard to watch her at work when we all know she doesn't feel well. I'm asking to see if maybe you would help her and her hubby put the finishing touches on their home so that's one less thing Lisa has to worry about. Eventhough, we have done a fundraiser and are planning to do another my fear is that it isn't enough. She needs a place just to rest and relax. Thank you, Julie

  13. Hi my name is Heather. I'm writing to ask a favour for my younger brother and father. When my brother and I were 1&2 we had a fire in our 120 year old home leaving us with the dirt foundation. Not long before this happened, my sweet mother of 33 years, passed from cancer leaving my dad a widower with two babies. A little time later my father found another woman whom he thought would be a great stepmother to. For a couple months it was okay until the complete unexpected time we got a call at church saying someone had broken into our new home only my dad being home, now at the hospital having been knocked out by the intruders and had breathed in too much of the smoke while unconscious. Left homeless living illegally in the basement of our church with no money because the company laid off my dad not wanting to get involved. In a few months the church had rented us an apartment until we got on our feet. In this time my stepmother became abusive. She was abusive to us all, mostly hurting my younger brother physically and giving him a closet as a "bedroom". It devasted me to see my brother in such a negative environment with how sweet and intelligent he is. This went on for 7 years. I feel like I owe my brother everything for not being strong enough at the time to protect him. My father also being mentally abused , took us out of the situation, leaving with only the clothes on our backs where we stayed in a dirty roach infested motel living off my dads paycheck to paycheck all of which went to paying for our stay. We were lucky enough to have a local food bank which we would have starved without their generosity. Forcing to start our lives over with nothing for the third time in our lives. After this we have had a close family bond. My brother and father mean everything to me. It would mean the universe to me if they could finally have a safe stable place to call home. Our current house is nearing 100 years old with holes in the walls, some not fully insulated and the heater constantly banging and breaking down. My only hope in life is to see my brother become his dream a zoologist and my dad to feel peace and not remember what stress is. I've seen the miracles that God works. And the miracles you guys pull off. Please. Help my dream be reality.
    Much Love & Blessed Be,
    Heather Dowling <3

  14. Hello ABC and staff. I love your show!the many blessings you have done for all these families is amazing!! My name is Crystal and I am 26 years old. I am writing you because I don't know where else to turn. My father passed away in 2006 due to a major heart attack. My family has not been the same since. My nieces of ages 13 and 16 have both been in and out of the juvenile systems. My mother has had surgery and found out she has had a minor heart attack. I was living with my boyfriend in a different county but I got custody of my oldest niece and moved back home with my mom to help her due to her being unable to work. I love my family but having my mom,my niece, my boyfriend, and myself all living in a very small home with only 2 bedrooms and 1 bathroom. My niece doesn't even have a room. Her bed is in the living room. We have no central heat and air, we use heaters and window air conditioning. Since my dad has passed my mother just hasn't been able to take care of up keep on the house. The septic is getting good backed up and the roof leaks and is in bad shape. My youngest niece is in DCS custody and they will not release her to me because I do not have a bedroom for her. I barely got custody if her oldest sister and since her sister is home schooled theyear with not let me work, also my mother has tried to apply for disability and she was denied. Thank you so much for your time and god bless you.

  15. Good morning!

I would like to nominate the couch family in New Miami, Oh

My cousin lost his battle with cancer, leaving his spouse a home that they both planned on fixing. His spouse is on disability and since his death things have been horrendous.

The home is very old, and realistically unlivable. All I can say it is a hot mess and I have offered to help but after inspecting the home I found the foundation is giving, electrical is not to code and in reality could be completely a night mare to do. The house and garage sits on an acre that is paid for, there are no liens on the property and I have even discusses with her about trying to get a modular home put in place and have the other just mowed down.

Steph is really up to her neck in a mess of a home, with limited income, a house falling apart around her, and a 15 year old vehicle pushing over 200k in miles. She desperately needs help!!! I Am willing to help and sure many others would gladly assist.

I need help because I'm truly out of my league and this project of a home is more in need of professionals than what a simple novice, such as myself, could fix or even begin to fix. I would really appreciate consideration on her part and be glad to offer pics.

    Thank You!!!

    Brant

  17. Hello Ty!! My name is Jane and I think our family needs to be on the New/Extreme-Makeover-Home-Edition. I have greatly been blessed with good parents. Both were born in Ohio. Dad was born and raised in Lodi, OH. Mom was born in Sandusky, OH. Mom's family moved out to California in her early teens and her dad passed away early in life. My dad's mother passed away early also. My mom and dad join the service (Air Force) and they both met on base out in California and got married. Dad brought Mom back to Ohio to live and start our family. My dad and my grandpa built the house that I grew up in. The house is now 59 years old and Mom & Dad have been married for 60 years. My brother was born first and my sister came shortly after that. After my sister was born my dad became ill. He found out at the age of 25 he had MS. The doctor's told him he would be in a wheelchair and would never walk my sister down the aisle. So they decided no more kids, but they had me six years later after my sister. My dad worked with his dad in our family owned Hardware Store. Dad and Mom took care of Grandpa in his last days with us, I believe I was 7 years old when he passed away. Grandpa pass the store down in Dad's name. We had the best Hardware in Town. I swore I would never work there, but I learned in life you never say never. The whole family worked in our store. The store supported all of us and things were good. Unfortunately, like so many other small independent dealers we had a huge fight to keep the store running all the years in our family name for over 75 years. I think my dad mortgage our house three times. Our main distributer, The George Worthington Company closed their doors after 175 years in Cleveland and that when we had to find another company to run the family business. Dad had a lot of sick days while I was growing up but he never let anyone know he had MS. He always provided for his kids and he wanted to know where we were when we were not in school or working. He was saving his money to buy a new truck, but he decided to take that money and he built us an in-ground pool with the help of a neighbor. Needless to say, our block became very popular with the pool. I think everyone in our town of 3000 has at one point been in our pool. Sadly, now the pool and the house have seen better days. I was the last person to ever open it up again and that was about 16 years ago. It is so hard to see everything get old. My parents are now getting to that point where they soon might not be able to walk. Unfortunately, the house we grew up in is not holding up very well and it is impossible to get from room to room in a wheelchair. My wish is to keep mom & dad together in their home and not a nursing home. My dad is my hero. Always positive. He has just been thru about every health problem you can have with MS but the real issue now has been his Cancer. Mom, always positive. She has taken care of all of us, but not herself. She can barely walk now. She has terrible ulcers on her legs. Her health has been getting worst and her heart is giving her trouble. She just had a pace-maker put in. I'm scared now that my parents need more care. They are very stubborn and insist they do not need help. The house is not safe for them. It needs everything to be more easy for them to be able to stay in their home. My parents have kept everything and have a hard time throwing things away. I have been constantly going over everyday to try to do just something little, but you have to get through the boss first "MOM". I know they need 24 hour care. My brother and or I were thinking of moving back-in but I think I would only have room for one over-night bag. We would need a lot of work done before we could even get to that point. We have all been struggling with our money. I always remembered my mom's dream of what she wanted to do with the house and yard. I would really like to be able to give her that dream. She worked as a Library-Aid in the school system for 20 years and has taken care of my dad all these years and raised us that her and dad never got to finish what they wanted to do for their home. I just think that the whole town would come out to see you fix up my mom & dad's home. The family Hardware Store is no longer in our name and was Auction 12 years ago. Our family truly misses the store. The people in our small town have seen a lot of the ma & pa stores close. We have quite a history in our town. We are the oldest settlement in Medina, Co. in the state of Ohio. Please give our little town a nice gift by reaching out to our family. We have a story to tell America, cause we were the happy house with a white picket fence that has gone through the change of life. I just need someone to help me bring a little bit back to give to mom & dad for all the years they struggled to raise us and keep the store in our family as long as they could. I hope you look at our family history and I hope you pick mom and dad for an episode. Sincerely, their daughter, Jane.

  18. Hi, my name is Tenesha Albea, I am writing you on behalf of my grandparents because they desperately need help. As you know everyone goes through things and has their own problems but my grandparents have been going through and dealing with so much from the living conditions to financial and medical issues. My grandfather has worked since he was 15 years old. His mother and father raised 16 kids on a small farm in Dearing, GA. My grandfather didn’t get to further his education and had to drop out of school to help out on the farm and work to help provide for his family. For many years he worked under the table doing construction/dump truck work. Due to him working under the table for so long when he was diagnosed with Prostate Cancer he was unable to receive full social security and other benefits. Last month he had a stroke which left his left side immobile, a feeding tube had to place in his stomach, and catheter to help him urinate. He is not able to stand nor walk and mentally is not the same before the stroke. My grandmother is his caretaker, a retired Licensed Nurse with a numerous of medical issues herself, with being so sickly it amazes me the strength she finds to keep pushing and taking care of my grandfather the way she does. The home they are currently living in has been their home since 1988, it needs many repairs which they can’t afford at the time due to their circumstances. They need a new roof, the floors have weak spots, there is no central air/heating, molding and the list goes on. My grandmother has so much on her right now she is stressed out and needs a blessing/miracle. Immediate members of our family try our best to help out but with our hectic work schedules, kids, and etc. it is very hard to help out as much as we can. My grandparents deserve a nice, comfortable, and better living environment. Over the years before they went down I have watched them help and look out for so many people without wanting or looking for anything in return. Honestly, I wouldn’t be who and where I am today without them. If I could I would buy them a new home, nothing extravagant but something that could make things easier on them and more livable. I worry about them so much and do all I can do. As I write this I get emotionally, seems like bad things always happen to good people. These two are have shown me the true meaning of love, strength, loyalty, and patience. And to also no matter what situation you are in to stay prayed up and do the best with what you have. But now I feel like it’s their time to have something done for them and after all they have been through I would love for them to have a home that can make their lives easier and a piece of mind. I willing and don’t mind submitting any pictures or videos. I pray you chose them. Please help us.

  19. I am requesting a home makeover for my neighbor. He needs help ASAP. Greg is a United States Vet and due to poor medical care from the VA he recently had to have his leg amputated. He will be in the hospital another 6 weeks or so. He had begun to build a house on his land but was unable to finish due to poor health. He has unfinished walls, kitchen counter tops that are only wood, concrete floors. Now that he will be coming home in a wheelchair he needs wider doors and hallways. Handicap bathroom. There is no way he can finish this on his own and can't afford to pay anyone. Please help finish his home so he has a place to go when he gets out of the hospital.

  20. Hi we are the anglin/bledsoe family of 5 and we are renters of a 2 bedroom apartment.its hard for us to get our own place right now cause we are helping out my mom who is disable and my fiance mom which is a veteran.we love to help others and our community and often putting ourselves last. Our kids is always giving up their snacks to kids in the community. My 11 year old daughter Shalaceon is the sweets and she deserves her own lil space where she won't have to be ashame of having friends over.My 3 year old Saniah is also sweet and to only be 3 she's always saying momma I need extra snacks cause my friend dnt have any even if she doesn't have enough she still find away to share what she do have.she loves to play outside but beside the place where we live she has seizures so I constantly have to watch her to make sure she doesn't get to hot.and playing insides is a challenge because it's not enough room for all 5 of us.i have a 7 month old son who is so adorable. I sit and cry many nights cause I won't so much more for my family and community but I'm only one person with lil funds and can't make everybody happy. I think we so deserve this cause if we had a better place to live we can do so much more for our community I love to cook and feed people and with a bigger kitchen with better appliances I can cook everyday and feed the kids and elderly in my community.so please please please pick my family only God knows how much it would change not only our lives but people in our community lives.LOVE THE ANGLIN/BLEDSOE FAMILY FROM MIDWAY ALABAMA.

My daughters father is not in the picture and my parents have also taken on the roll of raising her. (Helping me) I am recovering and getting stronger by the day. Come on back to Texas. Knock on my door, and blow that horn baby! Man oh man. I have changed as a person also within from this experience. I now feel like I need to be a motivational speaker for young adults in schools and also in churches. I am a woman of God and he saved me through this wreck as crazy as it sounds. He gave me a second Chance I deserve . Help me get my life back Ty. I need your help I can't do this alone and my parents won't be here forever, I myself have a baby to raise! Peace love and God bless!

  22. Aloha,

My name is Kierstin Pula and I am writing on behalf of a family in our Community who recently lost everything on January 29th 2015 due to a tragic house fire. They have 4 children and during the house fire all members escaped accept for their 6 yr old son Kaeden who was afraid and hid in his closet. As the fire continued to blaze Kaedens 11 yr old Brother ran back into the house to save his brother and both boys were trapped and perished in the fire. When they were found after the fire was put out, Dexen (11) had his arms wrapped around his little brother Kaeden (6). It was also shared that though the fire was big and took everything is has not taken this families faith. It has been a tragic event in our small community but the love and Aloha that has been seen through donations from Businesses, friends, stangers with various faiths pull together to try to help this family rebuild all that was lost has been amazing! It's been contagious to feel the amount of support and love shown to this amazing family. Their Mother Adrienne Matsuyama has shown nothing but pure strength and faith through her religion as a Mormon. Even Kaeden exemplified his love for God as his family shared his first talk that he shared at church just weeks before his death that said ""Jesus loved the little children, little ones like me. I have been born to two godly parents, three sisters and one brother."

It went on saying, "Heavenly father had Jesus create everything that's around you and me. He created animals that I love so much. The air we breathe, the flowers & trees, but most of all, I am happy for the plan he has for all of us. He loves us so much and wants us to return to live with him again. I want to be with my family in the eternities and I know you all do too." I'm not sure how many other people in this community have written on behalf of this family, but I know for sure that this event has made us not only stronger as individuals, but it sure has made me hold on to my own children tighter, and to want to share and do more than I am doing to make a difference in not only my own life but others around us! I believe this family deserves the opportunity to have your show share what you do best "rebuild lives" through helping families and communities getting a new start. I realize that their children will never be brought back, but through the loss of these two boys it sure has brought a tsunami of safety and awareness to our families and communities everywhere. They have touched so many hearts through their validity as good people in this community.

    Mahalo for your time,

  24. Hello. A family of 6 is struggling terribly. The father works full time in the H-VAC industry. They mother is very sick. She has multiple illness that prevents her from working although she still tries. They also take care of the father's brother who is mentally handicap because of all the seizures he has had. They have given so much to they people around them. They have housed people, fed people and let people use their utilities, such as; washer and dryer. They are a part of a local church and the kids and mother like to sing in the choir. The father has been a volunteer firefighter for most of his life but has had to give that up to put in more hours at work because of how far behind they are. This family loves to give to anyone and everyone they can. Right now they do not have cold water because a water pipe broke under the house. Their floors are rotting because of how old the house is. They have holes in the walls because of some of the people they have housed. Windows are broken for the same reason, so in the winter they have a hard time keeping it warm. The only vehicle they own is constantly breaking down. Which makes it hard from the father to get to work and mother to get to appointments. The church has helped them some which is great! But it's hard to raise enough money to get them caught up and get things fixed around the house. They have given to this community as much as they could, now I'm hoping we can help them. Please help us help them. Thank you for taking the time to read this. Have a blessed day.

  25. You should consider my aunt she has MS and has trouble getting around her house with stairs carrying laundry up and down and to go to her room it could really help her alot

  26. I would like to nominate my pediatrician, Dr. Lauren Garabedian. She is the definition of an amazing, dedicated doctor. We have been going to Dr. Garabedian since my daughter's were 1 & 2. She has never missed any appointment and has even seen my sick daughter at 9pm after coming back from a convention in the city! She personally calls in her prescriptions, answers her calls (even at 3a.m.).
Her office however could use some help. She doesn't have a working bathroom, no heat or air conditioning. She could really use a new up-to-date office that could make it easier for her to take care of her patients and not have to worry about the heat not working. Despite have all these issues in her office, I have never seen her office empty. She always has someone who is sick and no matter what ti.e of the day, she will always answer her phone and tell them to come in. She recently mentioned how she is also making House calls!! In my 32 years I haven't met a single doctor that makes house calls. She definitely deserves to be taken care of now. I beg you to consider this wonderful doctor that is 110% dedicated to putting her patients first!

  27. When I say the word home, what do you see? Do you see a family? Does it conjure up a sense of warmth, safety and security? For most that is the picture. Today I’d like to introduce you to a home like you’ve never seen, welcome to Community Action’s HOME Youth & Resource Center.
HOME Youth & Resource Center provides a safe, supportive environment Monday – Friday 12pm to 7pm where at-risk and homeless teens 11-17 years of age (18 if still in school) can have their immediate needs met, and have opportunities to positively reconnect with their community. In an average year, approximately 800 teens paid more than 10,000 visits and accessed thousands of basic need services such as clothing, laundry, showers, and we served over 14,000+ meals annually.
In addition to these basic needs services, teens have the opportunity to connect with caring adult role models, engage in positive activities in our community, access other support services from community partners, and reconnect to school.
Our building is in serious need of repair. Kitchen, bathrooms, youth gathering spots, roof, flooring and more need your help.
Youth coming to HOME, deserve this safe place to be, come help.
    Thanks Cyndi

  28. Hi! My name is Tammy Martens. We are a family of 7. We are renters. We have been struggling for years. We have bad credit so we have not been able to buy a house. Where we are renting now is a very old house. My oldest son has ADHD and anxiety and my younger son has asthma. This house is so old it's hard to keep warm in the winter. This is the only house we can afford to rent that has enough bedrooms for all of us. It's very hard to find a good decent house around here. We love the country and that's where we live now. We live around Steinbach, Manitoba, Canada. We would love to have our own house in this country area. My sons are on a few medications. If you can help us renters we would be so grateful 🙂 my husband John is such a hard worker but doesn't make enough and I'm a homemaker Austin he's 13, Kiaras 10, Dawson's 8, Abigail's 6, Janelles 3. We watch ur show every week. It brings tears to my eyes when my children keep saying I wish we can own our own home 🙁 we told them you only help home owners not renters but I'm trying and asking anyway. Thank- you for hearing me out.

  29. My dad just passed away unable to complete his remodeling of his house. The remodeler took his money and ran. He died of CHF,the same thing that I have, as a 30 year old. I have a 4.0, but no money to go to finish school, and so companies think (get this)that student loans are "bad credit". He left behind two cats this last Tuesday who were as much his life and blood and I donn't want to see them moved. I would move in ot the house with my sister and brother, and get a job in Michigan (currently am in California). The roof need to be repaired in a small section and the bathroom repaired.I do animal rescue and currently the house is set up perfectly for it (small animal rescue only) although my dad let me keep anything I brought home. He was a true animal lover and he didn't deserve to be ripped off before he died before his time, nor the house be unusable (plumbing in the one bathroom needs to be fixed). Please, come help us. It would do give our family an incredible change – not just one that you get used to in a few days or months, but that you appreciate the rest of your life. The things I've outlined are small and his house sits on a country onon-acre..if I have misspelled it's because it's hard to type. He had two cats who also deserve to live there too, they were his best friends and in the spirit of a man who let me keep Cedar Waxwings, rabbits, woodchucks, and snakes and even rattlesnakes and hognoses for rehab, something should be given back.

  30. Hi, my name is Alexis and I believe I know the perfect candidate for your show. My great grandmother is 77years old and one of the most nice, sweet, and caring people I know. All her life she worked hard to take care of our family and any other person in need. These past 10years she have been struggling to take care of her sick husband, my great grandfather. He was a diabetic that went blind and had both of his legs amputated. He recently past away and she faces the challenge of paying bills, taking care of her sick son who is deaf, and fixing up her house that they have had for over 40years while mouring her late husband. The house is very old and is falling to pieces. The roof and walls are cracking, she can bearly get around, and the house is in bad shape. Ty, im begging you please help give my great grandmother the house she need, worked so hard to have, and overall deserve. THANKS

  32. Our home is sentimental. My father built the house when my mother was pregnant with me. I have lived here most of my 32 years of age. My father gave the house to us when we got married. We have been trying to renovate. But as we can afford to finish one project another becomes necessary. Right now we also need to add more room.
We have adopted 2 boys, Israel (6) and Gabe(5). Gabe was born with cerebral palsy. And we need space for his wheel chair and would love a room for his therapy. As of now they share a small room.
Also we would like to adopt again. But before we can do this we must have beds for new kids. We have no space for this.
Our ekectic is a mess with animals getting into our attic and chewing wires it is also all on a box that is too small.
Our house septic is puddling in the back yard.
We have half a new roof. But the other half is starting to leak. Also have air coming in all over the house. And our only source of heat is a fireplace insert. It works pretty well…but when it is really cold, we have to sleep in the living room and cut off the bedrooms.. There are so many other problems. Including termites and depreciated siding and a slanting foundation and many other things. This would make our life so much better quality. And allow us to invite more children into our home.
I should also mention at this point my husband is working full time as a school councelor and going to school for a triple masters in counseling. He will be finished in 3 years. But until then we are working every spare minute to try to get this place in shape. With a very low budget. We live in a poverty area. So his pay is not great. And after he graduates we will have a lot of school loans to pay off. It is hard. Thk you for consideration. God bless you.

  33. Hi my name is Tammy. I am a mother of 6 beautiful children! I gave birth to 4 of them. The other 2 were my cousins children and she lost them almost 4 years ago. So my husband and I are raising them as our own. Their ages 16, 14, 12, 11, 5 and 4. We just recently were given our home from my husbands mom. She lives next door. Our home is in need of many repairs. It is a two bedroom and there are 8 of us. We are doing as much as we can but financially not fast enough. This winter has been rough because all we have are wall heaters and the cost of running them is getting in the way of repairs. Our electric bill for one month is $590. We are on limited income, but we do the best we can. I just wish we could expand our home and fix it up. We don't even get to go places together because we only have a Toyota truck which seats 3 people. Please help us!

  34. My fiance & I are both disabled…neither of us can work, we can't drive, & we live on very minimum income (my SSDI & my SSI which total less than $750/month). He has Epilepsy & other things, I have Friedreich's Ataxia (a neuro-mmuscular disease kinda like MD) whhich leaves me wheelchair-bound, unable to do daily needs such as bathe, brush my teeth, dress, etc. so I depend on him..
We live in a trailer which isn't wc frienddly, not to menntion holees, etc. Our rent is $450/mo., water bill averages $15/mo., phone/internet bill is around $60/mo., & electric bill is normally between $150 – $350, however, I can't pay all at once, PLEASE HELP US!!

  35. I am 39 years old, been married for 18 years. I have two teenage boys, ages 17 and 14. My 17 year old died twice on the table at the age of 10. He was diagnosed with Juvenile diabetes. I gave 19 years as a volunteer firefighter in a small town of 3100 people. I went on to become a Emergency Medical Technician to further help my community after returning home from Iraq in 2005. I had went to work for my local county ambulance service in 2008, and while working on a 10 month old baby in the rear of the ambulance we were involved in a very bad accident when a truck pulled out in front of us. I ended up with a fractured back, broken ribs and two herniated disks in my neck. After several months of therapy, I tried returning to work. What ended up happening is I ended up with high blood pressure and never being able to work again. Why? With all I had experienced and been through, I got diagnosed with severe PTSD, social anxiety, depression and very very high blood pressure. Long story short, we took what little money we had and put it on a new mobile home. Things were fine until my doctors told me that I could never work again. While applying for my SSI, the mortgage company would not work with me and took our home. We now live in a 14×32 building that has 2 little bedrooms and a 5×8 bath. It has been so hard and depressing that it makes you wonder if life is worth living. I do not want a huge home if I am ever chosen for a project like this. I love the simple life here in the country. A small 28×40 or comparable would be ideal. I know there are more deserving people out there, but at least consider me please. Thanks for everyone you have assisted in the past and God bless you all.

  36. My name is Ashley LaNore and I'm writing to your show because the Waymire family needs help. The home is owned by Robin an Rick Waymire who have lived there for over 20 years. It's located in Felton California, the Santa Cruz Mts. known for its nasty winters. The home is a small 2 bedroom 1 bath. I myself recently lost my home, with no where to go and being that my boyfriend is Robin and Ricks Son who were so awesome as to Take me into their home. Her son Daniel also living there with me and his daughter who is 7 years old lives here half time. Now that's five people Sharing one bathroom, With one shower that is a very small water tank And only allows up to 15 minutes if that of hot water. So we kinda have to plan out when were taking showers. And lastly, Daniel and I are having a son around he is due late April Of this year. That would make a six. Daniel and I and the baby Are living in the garage that's been converted, There are two small rooms that were built incorrectly without the correct insulation And window treatments to keep the heat in. Currently right now it's 40° in my room kind of cold, And being pregnant in this cold isn't too comfortable.

Now the property is all at an angel And comes down a slope, which runs down a hillside. During the rainy winter months were flooded, As in the whole property is flooded. Due to poor drainage systems, And little upkeep The property has become very dangerous for living. As of right now during the last storm we had tree branches fall on our vehicles, Shattering my windshield and damaging the head of Rick's car. Tree branches also came to the garage putting holes seven of them right through the roof. A few feet over and they would have come Right through my bedroom where I was sleeping. The backside of the property where the master bedroom and the deck are, Due to a erosion and lack of a retaining wall are sliding down the hill. Over the last two months we've been without power on and off ,heat we lost our water for several days due to a busted water pipe, The list goes on. Their son Daniel Does the he can when he's not working to do maintenance repairs and try and fix things around the property.

I wanted to take this opportunity to give the Waymire family something that they're in dire need of and I feel that they deserve More than anyone I know. They are a kind loving family who is done so much for me and Daniel, We do our best to give back and help out but it's just not enough. Robin is the main provider for the home Due to Rick being on permanent disability over the last 10 years after suffering a motorcycle accident which almost left him paralyzed. He is currently fighting off emphysema and cancer, And still tries to manage helping Daniel with repairs at 70 years of age. A new home and a new start for this family would mean everything. Daniel and I can only do so much and with the baby coming we would like to move out ourselves and get our own home Eventually, but Financially its very difficult to do right now. Please consider the Waymire family for a new home makeover. Where cramped on top of each other and need help. There's a rain cloud that slowly pours over this home and the days are getting any better, There is too much going on that we cannot keep up with, Please help. Thank you so much for your consideration and time.

    Respectfully,
    Ashley LaNore

  38. "As many know the Missouri river can be friend or foe. With determination and the grace of god John and Yvette Jones have been diligent in keeping their home in the small town of Craig thru out many floods. John and Yvette living off social security and disablility have kept their home livable. John has lung cancer and wants more than anything to leave this world knowing his wife has a modest home. Currently they live in a 4 room home and the bathroom and kitchen needs major repairs. The bathroom is not handicap accessible and kitchen is greatly outdated.
Any assistance that can come their way would be a godsend. They are a very appreciated couple and do not ask for handouts. They are the type if they have something that can help someone else they will gladly give it to them. Thank you for taking time out to read my story about Mr. & Mrs. Jones

  39. Kylie Gritter, the 9yr old daughter of Kim and Joey Gritter of Arabi, LA was born with Schizencephaly, a rare brain disorder which causes portions of the brain not to develop. Kylie endures daily seizures despite taking a ton of medication, eats through a feeding tube, travels in a wheelchair and is 100 percent dependent on her family for care 24/7. The Gritter family lost their home and belongings to Hurricane Katrina 3 mos after Kylie was born. Kim lost her job of 20 years and now stays home with Kylie while her husband works to support them. Due to a one income family they have relentlessly applied for assistance for Kylie but have been repeatedly denied. Meanwhile, Kylie is growing and is in need of a larger bedroom, lift system, and handicapped bathroom to help meet her daily needs. Since home modifications of this nature can be costly, the Gritter family is in need of help to make this addition possible. Kim Gritter is my sister and Kylie is my niece. I am asking please to help them out. Kylie has a Facebook page where you can see her at Kylie Cat Gritter. They are a loving family who have had so many struggles. Thank you and God Bless You.

  42. Hi my name is Laurrie and I desperately need help! My husband had a brain aneurysm in August of 2006. It left him in a terrible state. He could not communicate to us in any way and he was like a parapellegic from the neck down. He was only 54 and I was 46 when this happened. We where just trying to finish our home which at the time was in great need of repairs and he was in the process of building our dream log cabin. That winter before he peeled all the logs, three a day! Some days he would come in and only make it to the door and drop right there for a sleep. We should have known something was wrong? He had suffered one 18 years prior to this one! At that time we didn't realize just how bad he was. He shouldn't have been doing the work he was doing! But he insisted on trying to put our two children through school and university! He lived for his three girls! Risking his own life for us and others! He was always there when someone needed help whatever was needed from running a catipillar to digging trenches overhauling motors etc. when someone asked he was always there to help. When our youngest daughter graduated from university he then wanted to start building and fixing and saving for retirement. But right in his prime he was stolen from us! Our daughter was just expecting our first grandchild he was overjoyed! Then it happened! Robbed of everything! The girls say they lost us both that day! And I have to agree they did! My life has never been the same. The man I loved so dearly was no longer the man I knew! I was left with a shell of a man! My love did not change for him I looked after him at home for eight years before we lost him. He passed away in November of 2013. For years now I have been battleing severe depression, anxiety, insomnia and compulsive disorder. First trying to deal with the loss of my mom and looking after my dad and bang this happens! Most days I just wanted to die! I loved his so and couldn't live without him. I thought about it lots. It would have been so easy for us to both just go to sleep I thought! But I had two children and now grandchildren to think about. But many days it wasn't enough! Some days I still think of just being with him! He has left a whole in me that will not heal. His cabin that he started sits to this day! I have been trying to preserve the logs but I am losing the battle! I would love to have it finished on a lake somewhere where his girls and grandchildren could enjoy it! His retirement home would be there oasis! A place where they too could enjoy his craftsmanship and dream! We ran a business together and I also worked at the school with special needs children! I worked there for twenty years! I loved my job! I loved working with and helping children! Now I find it hard yo make it through the day! I can't help myself never mind someone else! All Lawrence wanted was to build a life for his girls and I! He was just at the point in his life where he was finally going to do domrghing for him. He wanted to set up his dream log home in sunny British Columbia and buy a motor home and go to Arizona for the winters. He was working on that when his fatal bleed happened. Leaving him in a state I knew he wouldn't want to be in. He suffered for eight long years! We could tell he still new who we where and he had many tears as well! He tried hard to comuncate with us over the years. We could tell what most of his needs where by the sounds he would make. Even when to take him to the washroom. Or just to reposition! We got to know his cries of pain! Life was hard but I wanted to keep him at home with me. Where I could sleep beside him and care for him with love. So to have the man you love robbed of life right before your eyes and nothing you can do about it almost killed me. Still is! I'm not the same! I have not been able to return to work nor have I been able to run our outfitting business that he worked so hard to build. Now it all has just fallen a part! It was all I could do to look after him! I know if it wasn't for my Grandkids and kids I probably wouldn't be here! I still need help with that! I have tried to sell the business and have been trying to repair and fix my home! But it is a struggle! It still needs so much work and I have no ambition or will to ho on. We live in a small town and it is hard to get anyone out to do dven the small repairs. Now I have trouble eith condensation and wiring. I don't have that big of an income. Living on disability and trying to keep the household bills and what fixing I have done. Not sure if I will ever be able to work again? So it sits, the log structure sits and it all eats away at me everyday! My granddaughter who is eight saw your show tonight and Wanted me to apply! She saw that I cried during it cause the woman's husband reminded me so much of my own and she to was looking after him at home. So grateful to still have him just like I was! Well what was left of him! I could have hung onto him forever! My love for him did not change! It still hasn't! I think about him everyday! I cry everyday! I long for him still! So when my granddaughter saw my tears and knows how much I have been trying to survive! Trying to finish a home that seems to be never ending repairs! Unable to finish the dream retirement home of the man I long for. She begged me to apply! So I did! She to developed a relationship with her grandpa before he passed! Not the grandpa he could have been but the only one she knew! My grandson as well! They would snuggle with him, ride on his wheelchair with him. Help me with feeds and all his personal needs! They both are a dream come true to me! They are my only life now! I just wish I could be a better grandma for them! Instead of who I have become! I would love to be able to go to a place where I could get help! A live in place for a long term as I have also developed alcohol addiction now as well. Fighting depression is a battle all on its own. I hope that you concidering us for my same and my grandchildren who so much deserve a healthy happy grandma!

I an writing to you on behalf of my best grandparents that raised my twin sister and my older brother since babies because we were taken away from my parents. We don't know our own mother but we know our dad but for us my parents are the ones that cared for us since day one and supported us through hard times and through school. My grandparents had always been no matter what and i know one day i wont have them with me i would like to surprised them with something special, my mom has diabetes and we have a two story house sometimes she can't go up the stairs when she's sick and my dad can't see at night really well, my dad use to have attacks before were he lost his mind for a while and one day we were coming home from the mall and he had an attack in the car were he almost fell in the canal and we got scared we taught we were going to die but finally he doesn't have that sickness no more and now we know how to drive and have our own car to help them with shopping and going out of town. There both 79 years old and i would like to try an make them a new home even though our hose is in good condition but i prefer a room downstairs for them especially for them cuz of there age. My mom is a great cooker she loves the kitchen and wont get out from there and my dad likes working with his tools outside or playing with the dogs outside or when there bored they just watch tv. The house has had many leaks were we had to be fixing all the time but my dad can't no longer climb a ladder no more. They try to get loans to pay off there debts and the house but its taking forever cuz interest goes up so much. There favorite thing to do in the summer is have parties at the house and bbq outside and just go swimming it would be so nice of you guys if you could help us out and make it a miracle ill try and send pictures or videos once i find the way to do it. I would just like to give them a break and let them have fun the rest of there years of life and enjoy vacations we try to help them around with some money when we can because we dont work that much or make a lot of money either. Thank you so much for being such a nice person Ty to those who do need it in life we appreciate it.

  49. Hello my name is Dinesha and I'm writing on behalf of my two daughters and my mother. My mother has been living in the same house for 55 years. She raised 4 kids and now she has a second generation. My grandmother has been deceased since 2006. My grandfather has been deceased since 2012. After both of my grand parents passed away the house had been falling apart . The kitchen needs a lot of work. And so does the bathroom. The stairs are broke . There is no electricity in any of the rooms. We are getting electric from the bathroom by using extension cords. This winter our burner went and there is no heat . We have to use space heaters for the rooms . We have no hot water. Also three pipes burst in the basement . In 2009 we were approved for a loan modification . We sent in the mortgage for three months to ocwen but then they decided to take it back . We hired a lawyer but he really couldn't do anything to help. My mom and I have been strong but sometimes we feel like giving up because we don't now who to turn to and what to do . Can you please help us with fixing our house and help with staying in the house. We would be so grateful and would appreciate your help .

  53. Hi and Guten Tag liebes Extreme Makeover Team,

though we have had our share (Iraqi Freedom Veteran and German immigrant) we do not want to share the sad things and struggles we have been through at this point, we just want to introduce ourselves at this point:

We are simply a little crazy, funny, married couple in our 40s that recently moved from CA to MN and for the first time were able to by a small home in the Twin Cities area.

The house (built in 52) is cute, yet there is just too many things that are outdated. The worst room is certainly the bathroom (the only one the house came with). The basement is partially finished and would need more attention. We are both a little disabled and can do a lot ourselves but not everything we would like to since there is a lot of potential throughout the house (plus backyard and a tuck-under garage are great for the 4 weeks of the year it does not snow in MN:)

Our house is ready for you and so are we,

    thanks and vielen Dank!

    Tina

  54. I am writing to you to ask for your help to help a small school district in New York. The school is New York Mills and we have the greatest basketball program here due to the BEST Coach ever. We won last years STATE TITLE and this coach has many more wins under his belt. The problem is that we play these games in a building that used to be an old hospital along time ago. It is a building that's is not part of the school. It is on the same grounds but not INSIDE the school. Right now, the gym only holds approximately 550 people. We are a class D school and for most teams in Class D, that is ok, but we play teams from higher classes because we want to stay challenged. Well, we have had a problem with seating enough spectators at our gym. People want to see good basketball and they cant because the gym doesn't hold enough people. We have a game coming up against a team whose gym holds 1000 people and there was "standing room" only at their gym. Now they are coming to ours and we have to sell tickets because of the space issue. Wouldn't it be great to help out a small school like ours and help us rebuild a new gymnasium???? AWESOME idea, if I do say so myself…..by the way, my nephew is on the team. 🙂

  55. On October 29, 2014 my family's lives were changed. It was a normal day at work for my husband a x-ray tech and student coordinator at Queen of the Valley medical center in Napa. He was typing on the computer when a tech asked him a question and he couldn't answer her only typing gibberish on the keyboard. Another tech ran and got a soda thinking his blood sugar was low. My husband is a diabetic. He couldn't drink. The radiation RN asked him if he knew who she was and he didn't know. They had worked together for 23 years. He was rushed to the ER. These wonderful coworkers were now his caregivers. He was quickly sent to Cat-Scan. Ther he had a grand mal seizure and stopped breathing. Later the young tech would say I can't believe I was going to do CPR on Wayne. Wayne had mentored and trained this young man. I was at home in Fairfield talking to a friend on the phone, when the phone buzzed Queen. I thought Wayne was calling from work but no, ther was an ER RN on the phone telling me Wayne wasn't feeling too well and could I come. I said yes . She said do you have someone to drive you? (Weird question) I said I can drive. She said come quickly. Come quickly? I thought it ,maybe his blood sugar or his headache from the night before was worst and they gave him meds. One of our teenage sons drove me to Napa. He was on his way to watch the Giants on the big screen in SF with friends. I said I'll take Dad home in his car. Come quickly, those words repeated in my head. Upon arriving to the ER I was taken back to the trauma bay where my husband lay unconscious. The doctor spoke to me and I heard Charlie Brown's teachers voice wonk wonk wonk. Then to MRI where a team waited for him and a nurse took me to the garden outside to pray and hold my hand. The diagnosis was confirmed a Glioblastoma multiforme grade 4. An aggressive malignant brain tumor. There is no cure. He was transferred to UCSF medical center wher he had brain surgery on November 3rd. He has recently finished 6 weeks of radiation and chemotherapy. We have experienced many acts of compassion and kindness from doctors, coworkers, friends, family and strangers. Gifts of food, and bills paid. Recently,we had no heat the furnace went out and I got a loan for the heating and air conditioning. I will be paying for the rest of my life. The swamp cooler on our roof rusted and the furnace was 29 years old. The repair man said it was a fire trap. They brought space heaters, I had my husband in sweats,a knit hat and wrapped in quilts. He was so cold. Now we have heat and air conditioning. We live in a double wide 1986 mobile home. The home needs to be releved and my husband will eventually need a ramp. There are other repairs needed. Mold in the sheet rock of the shed, 29 year old carpeting in our bedroom, leaky bathtub faucet when the shower is on.a hole in the deck where my husband fell through in a chair, wiggly steps. Water stains on the ceiling from the previous owner. The roof is fairly new the neighbors remember when the former owners put a new roof on it. We have always taken care of our home. Most would have be fairly easy fixes but not now. 5 years ago I became disabled and went from working full time to being on SSDI. We lost our home as I no longer made enough money. My disability took a toll on us. My husband always providing, borrowed money and bought the mobile home. We had been paying off our debt . Made our last house payment. We will always have ground rent as we live in a nice mobile home park. We live here with our youngest two teenagers 18 and 17 years old. Wayne is 57 and I am 54. The other 3 are young grow ups. Now the bills are happening and we will soon lose our medical insurance. Our income has decreased and our medical will at least double through covered California. Or any other as my husband needs specialized cancer treatment. He will be on chemo therapy for the rest of his life 5 days on and 28 days off every month. We were just starting to recover from my loss of income. I am overwhelmed with repairs, bills , regular life bills, appointments, breaking down appliances, dental and medical bills, co pays, with deceased income and increase medical bills. . 2 weeks ago I found myself in an ambulance with a 188 heart rate. Sometimes I cry in the shower or on the porch. I cry so hard my body shakes. My beloved husband of 20 years who took on a single mom and 3 kids and then we add two more. This wonderful man who has worked hard for us, loved us.He has always loved and helped others. Teaching youth group in the past, buying gifts for needy children. Giving to others when no one was looking. A humble man.He loved being student coordinator. Two days before surgery he wanted me to drive him to work so he could get the new student packets ready. But no, I thought not a good idea. He was just taken off work. My husband is an a veteran, 8 years in the the Air Force then the National Guard and Reserves. Then worked for the Veterans Home in Yountville California and finally for Queen of the Valley. I can't believe I am typing this, asking for help. I can't believe this is happening to my husband.

  57. My name is Kat and I am writing today in hope of winning a home make over. I was diagnosed with breast cancer in October, 2012 and had 6 surgeries ending in December 2013 just in time for my husband to be diagnosed with staqe 4 liver disease and and his mother passing just prior to Christmas. My husband Ric is presently on the liver transplant list (never drank alcohol). He has frontal lobe brain damage and unable to work or drive. By the end of December my Great Dane was diagnosed with congestive heart failure and given 10 months. I lost my job the following July of 2014 due to severe arthritis and neither of us have enough social security to live much less fix our home. My son is very gifted and was slowly fixing up our 85 year old home when he was diagnosed with congestive heart failure and an interstitial lung disease from voluntering with the first responders at ground zero and is not physically capable of doing any type of work as he is on oxygen 24-7. My son and his wife live in the same home with us as does my 89 year old mother and we all help to care for each other. Our beloved Great Dane "Scooby" passed October 2014. We as a family are asking for your consideration for a complete home make over. We would really appreciate something positive in our lives.

  58. I am writing this on behalf of my grandfather Darvin. He is a vet. He served our country. His house is falling apart the roof has cave in an floors are rotten holes all in floors. We move into a camper next to him to help him out an fix up his home. But…. It's not fixable an o hate that because he love this house. It's one of the things e ha left from my grandmother passing back in 2011. All I'm asking is for someone to help I've prayed an prayed about reaching out to find some one to help. I'm scared for my small children to take baths or even potty because you never know when he floor will cane in. I'm willing to take pictures or even a video an send to you guys. Please be te answer to my prayers. K.hendricks hardin tx

  59. Hello, my name is Gina Cunningham-Gloster, and I’m writing to you about my mother and father-in-law. They have tried hard to repair their house. They have lived there over thirty years and want to stay in the neighborhood. Lee was downsized ten years ago, returned to school, and earned his degree. He still couldn’t get hired as a teacher, though he works as a special education paraprofessional. He earned no money for several summers since he couldn’t collect unemployment. Now they want to retire and can’t fix their home because their money is so tight. They have credit card debt, a home equity loan and a car loan since the old vehicle collapsed. They are just trying to fix their home before they can retire and need a little help. Please help them out.

  60. My name is Kristi Baker. I am the mother of 6 boys. My husband and I s ere both….divorced single parents. I had two boys (full custody) and He had 3 boys(50/50 custody). Dale and I both came from abusive ex's. We met and married…bringing our 5 boys together as a family….within a year…had our own child…another boy. Trying to raise 6 boys on limited income has had us struggling these last 7 years…than our only van that fit all 8 of us had stopped working, leaving with only one small car to get everywhere.but than we found out Dales ex-wife has been physically abusing their 3 boys by beating them with a hanger, punching them and slapping them hard…when she got angry at them. We won full sole custody of them just recently….bringing our household to total 8 people 24/7…living in a rental house on a limited budget with only Dale working…as I was laid off a year prior with no luck finding a job. So my job became the main caretaker for the 6 boys while Dale worked so much overtime that we barely see him. Now our landlord knows all the kids are here full-time and he's afraid the amount of kids in the home will destroy the house. He's asked us to move to another place by spring. Trying to find a place for a family of 8 is difficult and coming up with the money to move while trying to keep 6 boys …ages 18,11,10,10,6 and 2 years old…fed and clothes on their backs has us struggling everyday, every month.

My parents have tried to help where they can but they are in their 70's and unable to take care of their 1/2 acre land by themselves. They have a house that can be modified to fit our family if a small bungalow home can be built behind our house so that we can take care of them in as they get older.I am now an only child because my only brother died from pneumonia a few years ago…leaving me as the only ones to take care of my parents.
We need some desperate help…our "modern brady bunch" family of 8 needs a new place to live… my 70 year old parents are ailing and require us to help them take care of their property because they cant do it anymore…with only one small car for transportation. We've been lucky to have finally saved 3 of our kids from their abusive mother. Can you help our family….

  61. My wife niece is 4 years old and has had a tumor removed from her brain recently. We just got news that the tumor has returned. We have several churches and a motorcycle gang helping with the hospital and travel expenses. But their home is in really bad shape and they need help. Both parents are also hearing impaired and have had many extreme difficulties in life and are very deserving of help.

  62. Hi my name is Teresa. I am a single mother of 4 and I have a grandson. They are ages 17-2 months. We have moved at least 3 times a year. I have no one to help me. I have been on my own since I was 12 years old. Never got the chance to finish school. I was abused all my life growing up and I finally ran away. I am now 36 years old. I can't afford a video camera to send you a video. I know that is a requirement. But I really need help. Right now my children and I are staying with friends. We all share one bedroom. I'm not working. Even though I have applied at many places I'm getting no response. There is a property across the street from here and they will rent me land for 400 a month. There is a mobile home on that land they said I can have for free but it needs about 15000 worth of work if not more. There are wholes all over the walks and in the floor. The last owner ripped all the wires out of the walks so we can't put light they stole all the copper. That home is not livable in any way. But I need a good home for my children. They are the most important thing in my life and I want the best for them and it is killing me that I can't provide a stable home for them. Please if at all possible please help me and my children. I've seen your shows and I don't want nothing fancy like those homes. I just want something livable for my kids.

  63. Hi my name is Jessica and I am writing for my Co worker… We both work for a salon… She has really touched my heart… She has been battling cancer this is her second time getting cancer… Not to mention she's a single mom and she has five kids that ranges from 5 years and up. … Liz my coworker doesn't really like to get help from anyone because she always just tried doing it herself all along with her five kids…I want more for her life to be a bit easier in this life and specially for her kids….she's still trying to go to work even when the doctor says she only has like four months to live if that…. She's hanging on for her kids and God Bless her for that… I hope this really touches you're heart and thank you…

  66. Hello. My name is Megan and I would like to share my story with everyone. I live in a very small village called Glenbeulah in Wisconsin. The house that my brother and I live in has been our home since he was born in 1996. This house is very old, the ceiling had holes in it and it also leaks, the walls are very thin and probably could not support a new roof, and the floor is starting to sink in some rooms. The toilet does not work properly, we have to put a bucket of water in it just so we can flush. The shower is very small and has a wrench just so we can turn the shower head on and off. The water heater is leaking. The heater for the house is a very old diesel fuel tank and it also is starting to break.
The biggest part of my story and why my brother and I can not fix this house is because our Father just passed away December 20, 2014, at the age of 55, because of a rupture in his brain. There is so much we have to do, because of his death being unexpected, he did not have a will. My father was a great man. He always tried helping anybody and everybody, and if he didn't have a dime to spare he would have given the shirt off his back. My father, Scott Miske, was a US Marine, and after the Marine Corps, he worked hard for everything he owned. As of today, my brother and I are becoming more worried. We don't know where the bills are going to come from anymore. My brother can only do so much because he still has until June to graduate High School, and I can only work so many hours and can cover so many things around the house.
I do not mean for this comment to be a pitty letter at all. I would just like a little help, a prayer from someone out there, even just advice. I would take any kind of help right now. Thank you for your time.

  67. My gorgeous, gregarious, interior designer sister (36 years old), her reserved, scientist husband (48 years old), and their red-headed, two-year old son moved back to the family neighborhood outside DC and bought near my very type-A, aging dad (73 years old, computer scientist, mom passed 2.5 years ago), and moved into my dad's house for renovations! Their new house, formerly a hoarder house, needs major renovations and the price tag is getting out of control; way beyond their budget. I (33, science education doc student, explorer and almost astronaut) terrified they'll be stuck in limbo forever, or worse at my dad's! Please help me help her?

  68. I cannot make a video at the time but would like to submit on behalf of my family. They are falling apart n struggling in Blackfoot, Idaho. I am the granddaughter. For more info I will write a letter of life story.

  69. Well I am not sure where to start, but here is my story. I am writing to you to ask for help for 8 people. Two Army veterans, a disabled nurse, a single mother of three, and me. My parents are currently paying the bills for all 8 of us…….let me go back and tell you why. My dad is a Vietnam veteran who retired from the Army after 20 years, then completed another 20 year retirement from the Air Force as a 911 dispatcher for the department of defense. He has been taking care of my mom for the past 5 years due to BPPV. She went through two rounds of therapy, plus medication that did not help her in the slightest. She was a nurse for 25 years, and loved her job, helping people is what she has always done best. So us living at home, helps her feel like she is helping, but we are a huge burden on their finances!! While dad was so sick, the worry was who is going to take care of mom? She can no longer drive due to her dizziness, she has to walk with a cane, and most days can't even cook dinner without getting dizzy. She spends 90% of her time in bed due to dizziness, my mom is a speed reader, always has been, but now she can only read a few pages at a time, and she hates it. She can't look at her cell phone for very long, she can't watch most movies with us due to her dizziness, and her quality of life has decreased immensely. My husband and I moved to Ohio 5 months ago, partially to help my parents, and partially for them to help us. We were living in Nebraska when my dad fell ill in 2013, he caught a virus that had him down for quite a while. His doctors found that he was in AFIB and put him on the transplant list, which quickly turned to CHF, he was on medication for awhile but was not getting better. This past October they put a pacemaker in, he is doing better and is off the transplant list, but will be on medication for the rest of his life. They are just physically and emotionally exhausted. My sister is 33 years old, and has probably only lived on her own for 3 years of her life. She has 3 kids, 13, 8, and 2. My parents have carried most of the burden for all three kids, they pay for food, electricity, lunch money, extra fees for school, and most of their clothes. My sister is a hard worker, but is stuck in a blue collar job that doesn’t give her enough to take care of herself and her kids. They are worn down from taking care of their grandkids on a daily basis, and don’t get to just enjoy them like most grandparents do. My husband is a Desert Storm veteran who has always worked really hard, but right before Thanksgiving he got an infection in his toe, since he is a diabetic we worried more than most probably would, and for good reason. His foot doctor put him on disability leave until the toe was healed, it is now February and he is just now clearing him for surgery. He has to have his entire right foot reconstructed, from the ankle down. It will be at least a 4 hour surgery that we are hoping to have done around March 12th. He cannot go back to work until this has completely healed, and being diabetic, he heals much slower than others. I am the only one working and I don’t make very much, so my parents have assumed financial responsibility for us as well. So instead of us helping, we feel that we are adding to their stress. Their house was built in 1960, as a part of the largest brick home community in Huber Heights, Ohio. It is a mess with tons of work needed to just make it work, let alone cosmetically make it better. My husband and I sleep in what used to be the garage, my sister and her 8 year old daughter share a room, and my nephews 13, and 2, share a room with my dads computer equipment. My parents had to rent a storage unit to move out enough stuff for us all to be able to sleep, and two months after my husband and I arrived, they were robbed. They lost over $19,000 of their personal belongings, and the insurance company only reimbursed $10,000 which they have used to feed, house, and take care of 6 people that should truthfully be out on their own. They don’t ask for much, and are always telling us that that is what family is for, to take care of their own. They just really deserve the chance to be taken care of for a change……which is why I am writing to you. Thank you for your time. Anessa

  70. Hello. My name is Maimouna but my nickname is Miya. I am writing to you because I want to see my mother happy. My mom has struggled all her life raising 3 children as a single parent for 32 years and she has done a fantastic job at it. But its getting really difficult for her. She is 52 years old and she is extremely over weight. When i was born, 17 years ago, she decided to open her own daycare so that i wouldn't have to go to daycare because she was worried that i might be mistreated by adults like a lot of other children are. She has been running her business for 17 years. For the first 10 years she was doing fine and then for the last 7 she's been struggling. Our gas and electric was cut of a few weeks ago just before Christmas and the government keeps threatening to take our home. I don't even know how we still have our car. To have lived here for 17 years our house is in pretty bad shape. Everything is always breaking but my super mom is always trying to fix it with our $200 income a week. And this is true, my mom only makes only $200 a week. Its by the grace of god that we have not lost this house. My mother does not have her own room. She sleeps on the sofa in the living room so that my sister and I can have our own room and beds. My mother is truly struggling but she try's to hold herself together for my sister and I. She is our number 1 supporter. She's never been on a vacation anywhere and that's the one thing she always says she wants do. Just last year in 2014, I was diagnosed with conversion physios and my mom had to stop running her business to be there for me. I don't know how she did it but she kept it together for me all this time. She never shed a tear. Although our kitchen is not in the best condition she tries to feed us the best food. My mom just wants the best for her children and shes's been doing her best for a very long time. I just think she deserves better. I think it's wonderful how she's always thinking of someone else besides herself. Although she has these one pair of tennis shoes that have holes at the bottom of it, and she holds them together with duck tape, she'll go do something for someone else. She is the true definition of giving without thinking about receiving. I want a new house for her so she can get her business back and running, a new office so she can have think time and plan for her future. She's enrolled in community college but she does not know that im going to help her pay for it. Yes, I have a job, actually i have 2 jobs and i am only 17. Since my mom wont take any money from me, I leave 20 dollar bills in her office sometimes. She's the oldest girl of 10 children and she has always helped her brothers and sister out with whatever they need. Whether its loaning them money all though she really doesn't have it to give or loaning them a place to sleep if they can't afford their rent or their heat isn't working. She's the most selfless person I know and she deserves better. Now that I told you who i am doing this for, I can tell you whats wrong with the house. Our basement was flooded about 6 months so its a wreck, our bathroom wall fell in about 2 years ago and is difficult to take a full shower without the plastic that is covering the wall to falling down on you, our back yard needs a lot of work done to it, I don't even know where to begin. We have mice that tend to walk across the floor and tease us. All of our curtains in our house are see-through because they were brought years ago before our blinds broke. So now we put up bed sheets at the window. We currently use food stamps to eat but they run out in February and we wont be getting anymore. Our kitchen could use ALOT of work. The floor is just torn apart and the counters are gross. This house has been used for a business for 17 years and all we want to do is make it a comfortable and relaxing home We've done the best we can we just need some help. If you could do this for us we would appreciate it so so much. Thank you:)

  71. Hi i'm Todd vice president Alton waterski club. We are a competitive show ski club that has been around since 1955 . We work with the Missouri disabled water ski association and put on a down syndrome learn to ski day every year. Our location is Alton Illinois on the great River Road near St. Louis Missouri. The club is open to the public to join. And we've had members anywhere from four years old on up. If it can be done on the water we can do it. this is our 60 year anniversary. But the club is in financial trouble. Due to water levels last year being too high or too low. We were not able to ski or do any shows membership was down and no money coming in for add books. We have about $12,000 Justin bills taxes and motor payments and utilitiesjust to keep afloat. Let alone maintaining our boats upgrading our equipment and trying to grow the club. But we have a plan to fix our problems The club owns it's on Clubhouseand pole barn to keep the boat. We would like to fix the clubhouse up and turn it into a rental property to keep the money flowing in. That would make the club self-sufficient and be able to survive for many years to come. It is an older house but with the awesome Riverview. The club has many personalities in it and I'm sure would make for interesting TV. Let alone if you came in the summertime hopefully would be able to be doing some waterski shows as wellhope you consider our club for rehabthanks for your time.

  72. I am commenting on behalf of my own mother. I am 16 years old and I don't know anyone who deserves a home renovation as much as my mom. About a year ago my father left my mom (over 20 years of marriage) for another woman. We were in the process of remodeling our run down house when he left. My mom has a very low income and can barely afford to pay the bills, let alone finish the remodeling. About a week ago we found that my mom has been diagnosed with breast cancer. It stopped our whole world. She's having surgery to remove the cancer and then will start extensive chemotherapy. My mother is the most amazing woman I have ever been blessed enough to meet. She hasn't let anything stop her from fighting and I would do absolutely anything to give her a home that she can look forward to coming home too. My mom means more than the world to me and I'm trying to do whatever I can to help her and make this battle easier for her to handle. Im begging you Ty, please please please, just give this a read. My mother

  73. Iam writing on behalf of my friends that I have known for 17 years. They have had alot of heartache ,lost Mom at the age of ten Dad had to be Mom and Dad and work and always helping someone else.Very giving family.the daughter got married has four children one set of twin girls that are 18 months and a boy 7 and a boy 3 and they were living in a mobile home and it caught on fire the 7 year old woke the family up all got out but the grandpa went back in to save the mobile home and burned inside his lungs the doctors did not think he would live but God through much prayer brought Him back Praise God. they lost everything .So they found some land 5 acres with a mobile home on it.In between the fire they had problems with the children services someone turned a bad report against them and they took the children out of the house. They have to redo the mobile home build new rooms separate the girls from the boys and from the grandpa and from mom and dad a total up grade. This is. impossible for them to do they do not have the funds ,they are on disability and they just found out that there is rot and black mold which is life damaging.they are on a time limit to get all these things that are required so they can get their children back. They have to show improvement weekly and I know that they are doing whatever they can do.My prayer for this loving family that has struggled for years to have a good home without rot and leaks and bugs most of all these beautiful children will have a wonderful home with their family .Really appreciate you Ty and all of your team what wonderful things you have done for others what a gift you have.

  74. Hello, my name is Ryan Swanson. I am writing on behalf of my parents. we live in Hawaii but due to health problems we are in Minnesota at a cousins house. My dad was diagnosed with stage 4 glioma which is a cancerous tumor in the brain. he has tumors in three places of the Brain and one is on his optic nerve. Because of this, he has gone blind and he cannot move around on his own. He needs someone to take him to the bathroom or answer/call someone with the phone. This has taken a huge toll on my mother and family. We are having treatments done in Rochester Minnesota which is an hour and a half from my cousins house. My dad has coached club basketball for as long as I can remember and always helping out those in need. the support we have recieved already has been amazing but the medical expenses are extrememly expensive. we are currently searching for a house that will suit my dad well considering his vision and mobility problems. It would be absolutely amazing if we had a house that could help with these problems. Thank you
