The WGN Network is gearing up for the second season of their show “Underground”. Filming in Savannah, Georgia, the series is in need of local men and women to be background actors. “Underground” is set in 1857 and follows a group of slaves who make the dangerous decision to plan a daring escape from a Georgia plantation to journey 600 miles north to freedom.
Since “Underground” is set in the 1800’s, it is important that anyone who applies for this show have a look that can fit into the time period. No one with hair highlights, visible tattoos, braces, facial piercings, bright fingernail polish etc will be considered for this shoot. They are seeking classic looks and average wardrobe sizes. Because production is not paying for any travel, only local talent will be considered or those who have friends or family there they can stay with.
Filming will begin on August 29th and the casting team will soon have a schedule of which background actors are needed for which days. In the meantime, Savannah/ Tybee Beach area locals who are interested in working on the series can apply now to be considered for the upcoming shoot dates. Marty Siu Casting asks that applicants create a profile at www.makescenes.com, using the activation code: railroad. If you already have a makescenes.com profile, simply add the new code to be registered for this show: add the code, “railroad”, then click “add project”, then click “save info” (code = railroad). Later this week, more background roles will be released so be sure to check back! If you would like to be considered for the WGN show “Underground” casting call then apply now!
