Former Disney Channel star Shia LaBeouf is set to star in an upcoming biopic about John McEnroe. “The sports drama will focus on one of the biggest rivalries in tennis of all time between McEnroe and Swedish player Björn Borg in the late 1970s and early 1980s” according to The Wrap. Also starring in the movie is Sverrir Gudnason who will play Borg and Stellan Skarsgard who will play Borg’s coach Leannart Bergelin. The film, that is set to be released in 2017, will be directed by Janus Metz. Auditions are being held for a lead role in the movie.
Casting Director, Jina Jay is holding auditions for boys who look 12 years old to play the young McEnroe. The movie will be shooting in London, England beginning in August, 2016. The casting directors are looking for Caucasian, American boys who are athletic. They will be playing a younger version of Shia LaBeouf’s character.This is an incredible opportunity to audition for a casting director with some major credits.
