In 1996 horror master Wes Craven’s masterpiece Scream starring Neve Campbell, Courteney Cox and David Arquette debuted to shining reviews and huge box office receipts and changed how scary storytelling is told. Now MTV is ready to change it all over again with Scream the TV series that is set to win over an all new generation of fans with it’s fabulous blend of chills and humor. Casting directors for this hour long production have begun their search for talented performers to be a part of the action and submissions are being accepted now.
The events of the Scream TV series kick off when a salacious video shot by two teens goes viral after it is updated to Youtube and the sleepy town of Lakewood is rocked. As more and more is learned about the video, the information leads to a horrific murder which begins to shed light on the city’s dark history and shake the lives of all of it’s now very frightened citizens.
One of the most memorable elements from the Scream film franchise was it’s incredibly talented casts and this television iteration has been sure to follow suit. A magnificent ensemble group has been compiled that includes Bex Taylor-Klaus (The Killing), Willa Fitzgerald (Alpha House), Carlson Young (Key and Peele), Tracy Middendorf (Boardwalk Empire), John Karna (The Neighbors), Bobby Campo (The Final Destination), Connor Weil (Victorious), Tom Maden (Parenthood) and will feature a fabulous guest appearance by Bella Thorne (Shake It Up!). The series is being brought to TV by the franchises incredible heavy-hitters, film directors Wes Craven (Nightmare on Elm Street) and Bob and Harvey Weinstein (Pulp Fiction) and will be overseen by veteran showrunner Jill E. Blotevogel (Ravenswood).
Millions of TV and horror fans around the globe are about to Scream again with MTV’s Scream series. Auditions for roles in this frighteningly good show are happening now and performers of all types are needed to fill a number of roles.
