Do you have a vintage beauty hidden in your garage? If so, casting directors for the upcoming Kevin Spacey and Nicholas Hoult film “Rebel in the Rye” need you and your classic ride! “Rebel in the Rye” is based on the biography of J.D. Salinger: A Life by Kenneth Slawenski.
According to Variety, the story follows Salinger as he is preparing to write his novel “Catcher in the Rye”. Two time Oscar winner Kevin Spacey (who is currently starring in the Netflix series “House of Cards” stars in the film and will portray Whit Burnett who was a mentor and a professor at Columbia and the editor of Story Magazine. He was the first person to challenge the young Salinger and inspired him to grow as a storyteller.
Casting directors are looking for union and non-union men and women with vintage cars for the film. Filming will take place at the end of April through May. You must be located in the NYC tri-state area to be considered. They are looking for vintage cars from the 1930’s, 1940’s, 1950’s and 1960’s.
