International superstar Tome Cruise is teaming up with the director of his 2014 sci-fi thriller Edge of Tomorrow for his next film, a thriller in it’s own right but set very much in the real world. The based on an unbelievable true story, Mena has been given the greenlight for production and shooting on this gripping tale will be starting soon. Auditions for this sure to be Cruise classic will be taking place shortly and submissions from aspiring performers are being accepted now.
Mena will tell the story of the infamous Iran Contra drug scandal from the perspective of TWA pilot Barry Seal (Cruise), whose flying skills and connections were identified by the CIA who recruited hm for undercover work. Originally asked to provide intelligence on the growing communist threat in Central America, Seal soon found himself in charge of one of the biggest covert missions in the history of the United States
and a formidable player in the Medellin cocaine cartel.
3-time Academy Award nominee Cruise (Oblivion, Interview with the Vampire: The Vampire Chronicles, Tropic Thunder) will work alongside an excellent supporting cast that will showcase the tremendous Sarah Wright (Celeste & Jesse Forever, 21 & Over, Hello Ladies), Jayma Mays (Larry Gaye: Renegade Male Flight Attendant, Glee, The League), Domhnall Gleeson (About Time, Ex Machina, Never Let Me Go), Robert Farrior (Men in Black 3, The Men Who Stare at Goats, Unforgettable) and E. Roger Mitchell (The 5th Wave, The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues). The Oscar winning team of Ron Howard and Brian Grazer (The Da Vinci Code, 24, In the Heart of the Sea) will produce the picture alongside the brilliant Doug Liman director of Cruise’s Edge of Tomorrow as well as The Bourne Identity and Mr. & Mrs. Smith starring Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt.
