Academy Award winning actor Forest Whitaker has signed on to tell the true crime story of Bumpy Johnson in the film “Godfather of Harlem”. The Epix television series is now shooting and an extras casting call is looking for men and women. The 2018 TV show casting call is on the search for African American men and women. Casting directors are in need of people who have 1960 type looks. This is an exciting opportunity because these roles will shoot throughout filming. Extras who are selected will shoot between September and March of 2019. For now, the team needs people to work on Thursday, September 27th and Friday, September 28th. This is a paid acting job.

According to Deadline, It will tell the true story of crime boss Bumpy Johnson (Whitaker), who in the early 1960s returned after 10 years in prison to find the neighborhood he once ruled in shambles. With the streets controlled by the Italian mob, Bumpy takes on the Genovese crime family to regain control. During the brutal battle, he forms an alliance with radical preacher Malcolm X, catching his political rise in the crosshairs of social upheaval and a mob war that threatens to tear the city apart. 2018 TV Show Casting Call

Grant Wilfley Casting is seeking the following for EPIX TV series, “Godfather of Harlem” starring Forest Whitaker: SAG-AFTRA/NON-UNION African-American Men & Women, all age ranges, to portray various 1960s Downscale Types (Junkies, Dealers, Prostitutes, etc.).

**MUST BE OKAY WORKING AROUND ATMOSPHERIC SMOKE
**MUST HAVE PERIOD APPROPRIATE HAIR (Men – +2 inches, small afros, all around or willing to get period haircut, NO buzzcuts, fades, edged sides, braids, dreads, unnatural colors, etc.) (WOMEN – shoulder length or shorter, small afros, NO braids, dreads, ombre, unnatural colors, etc.)

These roles work various dates throughout our shooting schedule which is Sep 2018 – March 2019, however at the moment we are looking for two particular dates this week, Thursday 9/27 & Friday 9/28.

You will need to attend a wardrobe fitting this week prior to these shoot dates.
