It’s a very difficult endeavor to bring a superhero series to television and almost impossible to turn one into a true hit but that’s just what The CW has done with it’s comic book sensation Arrow. Based on the sagas of classic DC Comics hero The Green Arrow, this action packed production has established itself as can’t miss television for millions of fans of all ages and now auditions for a number of roles in this sensational serial are underway.
Arrow tells the enthralling story of Oliver Queen, a callous billionaire playboy who is lost at sea and stranded on a deserted island for five years after his yacht shipwrecks. When he finds his way back to his home of Starling City with a new found respect for what truly matters in life, he is shocked to discover that his once idyllic
city has fallen into a state of despair and unrest, with crime at staggeringly high levels. He vows to do everything in his power to restore Starling City to it’s glorious past and begins to patrol the streets by night as a hooded vigilante with a particular skills with arrows. Each week Arrow engrosses audiences more and more with rip-roaring action and a universe that becomes richer and more layered every minute.
The tremendous talented cast that makes up the principle players in the Arrow world include Stephen Amell (The Cutting Edge: Fire & Ice, Hung, Private Practice), David Ramsey (Blue Bloods, The Death and Life of Bobby Z, Accidental Love), Katie Cassidy (A Nightmare on Elm Street, Taken, When a Stranger Calls), Paul Blackthorne (Dumb and Dumber To, The Dresden Files, ER), Emily Bett Rickards (Dakota’s Summer, Brooklyn, Soldiers of the Apocalypse) and Willa Holland (Straw Dogs, Gossip Girl, Legion). This comic book adaptation was created for television by Greg Berlanti (Green Lantern, The Flash, Everwood) in tandem with Andrew Kreisberg (Boston Legal, The Vampire Diaries, Warehouse 13) and Marc Guggenheim (CSI: Miami, Brothers & Sisters, FlashForward).
