My name is Ruthie I am doing this for my mom and step father .. They live in a house that they rent and it is falling down around them my mom will be 70 this year and my step dad will be 74 .. He lost his leg right below the knee about 3 yrs ago and my mom is raising a great grandchild .. My step dad owns a home in which they rent out because it doesn't have a lot of storage space . I do everything for them I cook there meals and I clean their house take them to appointment and do there shopping .. We r always fixing on this old house and if the landlord has to pay for anything she always raises there rent .. They would move if they had a place to store all his tools and equipment .. Is like to get them in a home where they wouldn't have to burn wood in the winter and they could live there golden years not worrying so much .. They have to haul their water from the end of the drive to a well .. I have never done this before but we need help. Here's our story. Quickly my mom who raised 11 children passed and left 2 adult(1 autistic and 1 mentally challenged) under our care. We decided to leave them in moms home as that's were they grew up. My mom was against homes. My brother and sister lives with them. They do not work. We did the best we could. kept house clean but money was very tight. One day all came apart. The house had gotten infested with bed bugs and fleas, Well I have called an exterminated in and $1700 later we are cleared, but now we need furniture and we have no money. I have asked case workers and agencies for help no one will help. I now found out the house is fallen apart. We are in need of bathroom, paint for rooms, floors to be sanded and re stained, and furniture. My heart hurts. NO ONE CAN HELP…Please please can you help with anything. We do not want used furniture as this is how this problem started. To top it off my sister was just diagnosed with lung cancer. We are going for biopsy this month. We are a private family and my siblings would be upset with me for asking, but we are desperate. Thank you for this chance.

My name is Kay Scruggs and from Knoxville TN i work at Kroger where I met my boy friend that has worked there for 24 years over a little time ago his mother had passed away from a heart attack on Christmas she had just went to the bathroom and never came back out And just a year ago he has lost his father as well from cancer as well . he was committed to his parents 24/7 before they had passed after they passed he got an inheritance and helped a bunch of people at work that needed help with not being able to afford stuff for chritstmas and one of them took advantage of him really bad he was diagnosed with bipolar and a nervous disorder after his parents pasted and makes it really hard for him to go out and do anything cause hes always worried that he makes people mad when he doesnt. this tragic time in his life he has let his house go and im worried about him living in the house they way it is and his health and hes not able to bring any one in there he has never had anything done for him from as much has he has helped friends and family pay bills and get kids stuff they needed he is a true hearted person that loves to help others and puts his self on the back burner so please have it in your heart to contact me in willing to do something great of a great person that i love with all my heart thank you all for your time hope to hear from you all
My name is Deb and my husband and I got a house in north Carolina. I wanted to do it before we retired so we would be settled and know people. And I'm just so over whelmed I don't know what to do anymore. I knew we would have to remodel that was a given. My husband made several trips just to get almost all of our things here and in the process someone broke out windows. We will have to redo the whole house and now we find out that we need a new foundation because the house isn't level. My husband and I haven't found jobs yet and I just keep hoping for some kind of a miracle, but it seems like around every turn its something else that's wrong with the house. I keep trying to keep a positive outlook on things and tell my husband we will get through this but it gets harder everyday. I waited 30 years for the absolute love of my life and now the house and it's issues just stress us daily. Just frustrated and extremely overwhelmed but I love the area and our neighbors are wonderful.
Hello my name is Sara and I'm not asking for help for me but for my grandmother and grandfather. My grandmother is now on bed rest until she passes and my grandpa has been taking care of her until now. The home and land she lives on has been in our family for many Generations and is falling apart. There is mildew in many places of her home, the ceiling and roof is falling in to the point they have duck tape and plastic covering places on the ceiling and her closet in her old room is blocked off. My grandma deserve better then this. She's taken care of all of us grandkids when our parents didn't care to. She would give the shirt off her back to a stranger in the middle of the winter and now she's living like this and as much as i want to be there to care for her i can't afford to put a place on her land to care for her 24/7 like she needs. My name is Rachel Driver. Six months ago my father was diagnosed with stage 4 mastasticized cancer. He was given only six months to live but has been holding on and they have given him another 3 months. My mother and him married as teens nearly 40 years ago. She has COPD and is disabled. His Diagnosis has taken a toll on them both. We have lived in this house as long as I can remember and recently I have had to move in with my three daughters to help care for them and also because I'm going through a divorce. The house is in disrepair and my father had dreams of remodeling it as it was his family home and he wanted peace of mind knowing his daughters and granddaughters would always have a home. The bathrooms are not workin, the stove and oven don't work or the dishwasher. The A.C has as also been out of order due to rats in the attic getting in the piping. Several outlets are a fire hazard. The kitchen has been damaged by the rat infestation and we have been doing all we can to get rid of them but my children and I have asthma and chemicals a effect it greatly. My father saved all his life for retirement but unfortunately is not expected to live to see it. He is our rock and I know that if I could take the burden from him of not knowing that he was able to finish the house for my mom and us would give him much peace. God bless and please open your heart to relieve the family of this burden so we can spend his last moments in peace and doing things to cross off his bucket list. Thank you.

I have a request for a home for many. I have been looking and found a farm. It is 80 acres. I can get it for an extremely reasonable price. I have a dream to make a daily enrichment center for special needs adults and day camp for special needs kids. There is farming, 3 barns, a home (which can be revised as a day center) and a large water reservoir on the property. It is absolute Heaven! I think it would be a peaceful, beautiful place for this wonderful, under appreciated population to spend their day in a community setting. I have a sister and a brother and a son with Down Syndrome. My father passed away very suddenly in June of 2017 and
I had to move my mother in with me in Jan 2017 due to her health issues, we were already tight on space at that time because my 4 step kids had all moved in with me after there father passed away . So there i was a mother of 2 boys in a small 2 bedroom house to a mother of 6 in a 2 bedroom house , then when my father passed away i had no choice but to move my disabled mother in with us . i have a big heart and cant not turn away someone in need , which i would never turn away my kids or my mother anyway so we are making it work . 3 of my kids have since been able to get places of there own which helped out so much . but with my mothers failing health she needs more and more room for her medical supplies so we are in desperate need of a bigger house to be able to care for her the way she deserves to be cared for .

I'm 50 yrs old and have renal failure and my husband (60)works 14 to 16 hrs a day. But after bills, Dr. and Medications I have to have we have no money left to fix our house. The roof is leaking, there is black mold throughout the house and floors are falling in throughout the entire house. I'm working on getting my disability but I'm not sure how long this will take. Everyday I spend in this house in the shape its in is a danger to my health. My husband has also had a heart attack before and back problems. Which it makes it very hard to work anyway but he knows he has to for now. But we don't know where to turn to get help.

This is the story of my daughter, Rachel and her family.
Here is her situation:
Our van has been so great for us and so has hubby's car, but in the true spirit of car ownership, things start to fall apart and need maintenance. While traveling down Big Cottonwood Canyon, we smelled a pretty awful smell and by the time we got all the way down, our brakes were literally smoking! We had to stop at the 7-11 right there and wait for a while until the smoking was done and hurried home. Hubby drained and replaced the fluid, but noticed the front tires that we had replaced only 2 years ago were almost completely worn-the threads were actually showing. We can't unlock both sliding doors with the power locks because they don't work, and that's probably why it was broken into last fall. We just found out that the suspension should also be replaced, especially to keep the tires in fair shape. The dark color of the van makes it super hot for the kiddos, too. Hubby's car needs a lot of repairs, too. It's leaking oil and we're not sure where from. The front axles need to be replaced, all four wheels need new brakes, and he needs to figure out why the front headlight won't stay working. I think it also needs a/c recharging or something.
All these repairs seem to be coming due in the last little while, and it's been a drain on our finances. Just when we think we're getting ahead financially, paying off debt, and starting to save, something comes up and we need to start using our credit cards again.
MCADD is always a stress-making sure our kids eat, finding ways to motivate them without making the battle actually about food. The fear of creating an eating disorder in them because they need to eat, or even in our older two because of the attention we have to focus on them, is so real
Something that would make our lives much easier is space. We have six people in about 1000 sq feet. The stress of trying to keep everything clean and organized so our kids can focus on their school work, keeping Drake and Evie healthy, is sometimes overwhelming. Our kitchen has not much space, and so a lot of our food has to be stored in our garage, and we found out the hard way how to keep them away from mice. I'd love to build a garage with a loft to open up our house, have a place for the kids to play, and safe storage for our food. We have a garage already, but wanted to have an actual seating area or family gathering place. Our bedroom is tiny for us to sleep in, but I see much potential in a family spot or a storage spot for safe food for my kids.
Drake has a potentially life-threatening, rare genetic condition of his metabolism called MCADD, asthma, and a heart murmur that is reminiscent of pulmonary hypertension when he was first born. Evelyn also has MCADD and was born about 6 weeks early because I had a form of severe hypertension called HELLP syndrome. MCADD is a genetic disorder that requires my kids eat frequently, Drake is intolerant to the heat, and we must especially monitor them when they're ill. If they can't keep food down or become lethargic, we have to go to the e.r. for a special "magic juice" (glucose in an IV) to help prevent metabolic crisis and get to stay there until they can keep food down. Both Drake and Evie had to stay in the NICU after birth for a couple of weeks. We've become experts on MCADD because most doctors aren't familiar with it and I get to educate them, especially in the e.r. We've been blessed that the doctors are willing to contact the specialists and/or listen to me because of my experience.
Because of MCADD, I'm afraid to try to get a full-time job because we never know when they could get sick and I'd need to get them to the e.r. asap. As a result, it can more often than not, be difficult to make ends meet, especially with multiple hospital visits. Drake and Evie have been to the e.r. or hospitalized between 10-15 times between the two of them, in 6 years.

My name is Joseph, I'm 18 years old and I live in a two bedroom house with my Mother, two little siblings, and my grandmother and grandfather In Mobile, Alabama. I wouldnt see it as much of a problem if the house wasn't literally rotting around us. We moved to Mobile about 6 years ago after my grandfather found out his father left him a house, rent free. We thought it was wonderful. When we arrived it looked nice, there were a few things that needed fixing but we thought maybe thats it but after a few months we realized the fact that the wall inbetween the living room and the first bedroom had rotted so much that it would lean almost as if was about to fall. The second bedfroom was even worse, the floor is falling apart, our bathtub has fallen through the floor not to mention the fact that the bathroom is about as small as a closet. The roof leaks heavily during storms. We heave two broken windows that have been here foever and the electric wiring in the walls have gotten so bad that if its left on too long the wall starts to smell like its burning. Our livingroom light no longer works, the porch light has never worked and and our kitchen is as small as the bathroom. We've tried saving up money but it usually goes towards bills and food, so it never works out. Ive thought forever about writing to you guys and i really hope you can help us… Please.
My name is Adrian Miller. I'm a single father of 2 beautiful girls age's 5 and 9. After there mother past away over 5 years ago. It's just been my girls and I. Over the years the furniture has taking a beating with the girls growing up. Not to mention its the same furniture my parents brought when I was a teenager. All I can do is spray Febreze on it. It's passed the point of being cleaned, an it makes the girls and I itch whenever we try an relax on it. This would be a blessing to my family and friends who i entertain and not feel away about how my furniture looks or feels. Also there's Mold in the a/c unit, and in the walls. Termites are eating the house from the ground up. From the base boards to the roof. I don't even have a room door because the Termites have eaten up the door jams. The sink stays clogged so it's hard to keep the kitchen clean. I hope it's not to late for the audition because we are in need. Please help and God bless….

Hi, my name is Kimberly Greene. My mother and I are looking to be eligible candidates for an Extreme Makeover Home Edition. Recently, a little over a year ago, my father passed away due to cancer. We have struggled with paying the bills, and have fallen behind and are unable to get the needed repairs done in our house, which has called it to fall through and become unbearable and cost more to repair than anything. Due to an overwhelming amount of medical bills coming in, my mom and I have really struggled. I can honestly say that losing my father was the hardest thing that I have ever experienced in my life. We have struggled and have faced depression. I am a college student (currently a Junior) majoring in Business Management, in hopes to one day open and own my own interior design business. Hi, My name Is Izetta from NYC. I don't typically do this but my mother is in a real desperate situation. The roof on her house is almost gone, when it rains outside it also rains inside of her kitchen. It's very heart breaking see this house that my sister and I grew up in just fall apart. The winters are the worst for my mother. However her current situation is the worst Iv'e seen her in. Her pipes froze during the cold winter season and she hasn't had a flow of water in the house. My mother comes to my 1 bedroom apartment and showers daily. She had to tell her tenants which thank God were here close friends about the situation, and they have to be displaced also. We have attempted to get grants and loans and have been unsuccessful. I'm just reaching out to see if someone could give my mother a hand. She deserves it she raised my sister and I on her own when my step dad just walked out on us. We never lacked for anything and I just wish I was in a position to help her. It hurts me to see her going in and out of depression and watching the house crumble. In the back hallway; you can literally stick your arm outside of the house. It's beyond bad. Hi my name is Halie. i moved back home with my mom and stepdad to help them. the house that we live in is in very bad condition. The roof leaks really bad to the point that we use trash cans and pots and pans to catch the water when it rains. the roof is falling and we cant afford to have it fixed. there is holes in the walls and we have no hot water cuz the gas pipes under the house busted. so they had to shut the gas off. we heat up water in the microwave to bathe. we dont even have a stove. we use a hot plate and the microwave to cook meals. me and my daughter sleep out in the garage department and that is falling. the house was my grandparents and when they died my mom took over living here cuz we have no where else to go nor do we have the money to move. my stepdad has stage 3 cancer and cant hardly get around. he still works and its hard to watch mom cry every night cuz he is dying. having to pay for all his medicine and doctors takes most of the money so there is no money to fix up the house. please help my mom and stepdad!!!

Hello, I am applying in regards to my godmother, Myra. She is the mother of 6 kids, she is recently married, and they are all living in a 3 bedroom trailer in Princeton, WV. That's 9 people living in a house made for maybe 4 at most. She worked as a foster care provider and adopted as many kids as she could to help them have a better life, even if it meant she had a harder one. Now she is working as many jobs as she can to make sure they are all able to eat, play sports, have working cars, and again, to pay bills for her too small of a home. Now that I am older I can look back and see that Myra was struggling, but throughout my entire life not once has she ever asked for help, so now I am trying to help her in a big way. I am not sure if this is how you're supposed to apply to get a loved one's story out there, but everyone else is, so I'm just going with the flow. I really believe a new or improved home would help Myra and her family live happier and easier lives. Mario recently got married and bought the cutest fixer upper house built in 1949, in a cute neighborhood in Whittier, CA. This house has so much potential and Mario and his new wife Patty have so many plans for it.
The problem lies between time and money to get everything done. There's not enough time or money to get everything done. I last saw him he looked so tired and I wish I could help him fix up his place.

I would like to nominate a family of 6 that I babysit for. This family currently lives in a three bedroom house in NH. The couple has two biological children, 1 adopted, and 2 foster children. They are an amazing, busy family that would be so grateful to get a bigger house (current house is probably around 900 square feet). Currently the husband and wife sleep in a room that only fits a queen size bed (can't walk on any of the sides of it). The wife takes care of the kids 24/7 and loves the chaotic life that being a foster mother creates. I won't lie, my dad was in the air force for 25 years and has since retired, but he still works for them. My dad is a great handyman and loves wood working, he is really good at it. His workshop is much to be desired, he has just about turning space to work in. Hi my name is Sibyl Freeman i am 41 years of age i gave up my goals amd dreams to take care of my mom with dimentia Dec262017 my mother passed away from heart failure and not eating my mom died in my arms in her bedroom i grew up in this house as the only child well like i told you i never let my mom go to a home i stook by my mom thru it all that i even took pictures of everything from good to bad even til her death my mom was a good person she worked with spec ial need kids for over 25 years my farther is deceased as well i have one daughter who graduated from school as a med billing specialist now ihave been blessed with grandchildren my daughter she is a diabetic we dont have much but we do have a house that is paid for by the grace of God it needs work and have termite damage and a rig roof right now ifeel as if i am crawling since my mom has been gone because all i knew was my mom the house has my mom all in it that her room has a smell i cant get away from please help us make this a better place and safe place for me and my family my daughter is my only child and now she has given me two precious grandchildren if you help us it wont be in vain but it will take a load off of us .we really need your help.

HI My name is Beth. I currently have an amazing husband and 5 beautiful children. the past couple of years has been rough on me. my brother committed suicide in June 09 at my home. in august 2013 I lost a set of twins and January 2015 I lost another little boy. then in November 2015 I gave birth 3 months early to my youngest. things have been going ok but he is delayed and my house is just to small for all of us. we were trying to remodel it and my dad was helping when he could but he passed away march 2017 in a pole barn fire at his friends home. I am now trying to pay for my home as well as try and keep his home on our family farm. I know other out here have lots more problems then I do and I hope they get the help they need. we have had a very rough few years and could really use some help. I hope this reaches someone and maybe I get a light at the end of the tunnel
Hello my name is Amber, I live in Lebanon, Oregon and recently me and my family lost our home that we were buying from a private party. As a rent to own He then needed cash quick and sold it again. We seem to loose most of everything. Even my truck that my dad had given me before he died. We then tried and tried to find a new place. Which is impossible these days. We tried everywhere to get a loan. Our credit is not the greatest so we have had trouble. We finally just moved in with friends and live on a mattress in her loving room. My fiance is a disabled Marine Vet. I am a CMA at a nursing home. I work hard and can never seem to get ahead. Finally our prays were answered by a gentleman that is not in good health that has a house that needs fixed up then he would allow us to rent the home and if we decide he will let us do a rent to own option then if he passes away it would be income for his wife. My fiance has literally been working for almost 3 weeks straight to get this house done so me and family can finally have a home of our own. Please all I ask is help finishing our house. My family and I have an opportunity to buy a home from a very nice seller who wants to help us so desperately we been in a terrible situation for so many years we could never qualify for a home loan due to credit issues and now we can't even get a personal loan. The home is in terrible shape but if we could get the home in liveable conditions we could accept the offer from him. The house is in terrible shape but has plenty potential! We just can't afford to remodel due to medical issues that have caused my family lots of hardship. I so desperately want to help my husband he is trying so hard to make this happen he has been my rock for over 28 years and this July we celebrate 29 years of marriage we have 8 children of which 5 are adults and 1 has passed away and is our angel watching over us. I've had a hard life growing up, which I won't get into, my father passed away.. my mother gave up. I was on my own since I was 18 after leaving a foster home. I've bounced back and forth for awhile! It took 6 years for me to find a place to call home. My boyfriend and myself have moved into his father's house.. it hasn't had attention in decades!!! We have found out we are pregnant. There is so much stuff that needs to be done before the baby arrives and I am so nervous.. it was built in the 1800 I believe… there's mold, floors are falling apart, walls are molded and so on and so forth… this would be a miracle if something this amazing happened to us!! I'd love to talk more, just don't want to put my whole life out here.

Hello. My name is Mary Warren. I'm 68 years old, on Social Security, a diabetic with painful and debilitating neuropathy. My husband walked out about a year ago and fortunately, my daughter moved in with me as I wouldn't be able to live here alone because I couldn't take care of the place, inside or out, by myself.
My daughter's husband left her with two young boys. She had to leave them with other family for a time as she was unable to care for them. She was fighting cancer at the time and for a while it seemed she wouldn't survive, but thank God, she did, and has been battling her way back to a better life and has come a long way.
Now she's here with me along with the boys. She works as a waitress – long and hard hours, and when she's home she takes care of the house and the huge yard, but there's only so much she can do. There are 6 acres around us that she mows with a push mower. I would give anyting if I could afford to get her a riding mower. Bless her heart, she does a great job, but it's too much.
Our home is a mobile home. It has little insulation so the winters are tough as it's so hard to keep warm and very expensive to run the heat all the time. Summers give us the same problems.
There are plumbing problems – right now the kitchen floor is getting ready to collapse – obviously water rotting the boards. We can't afford to have this fixed and not sure what to do.
The house has lots of other structural issues, all of which are beyond our means to address. And we really, really need another bedroom and bath to make life better for everyone, but that's a wish and not a real need.
Goodness, there are people whose needs are much greater than ours, but a little help would sure be a blessing. I would look for a part-time job to help with some of these things, but my hands are so painful from neuropathy, I'm not sure I could do it. It's even hard for me to drive.

Welcome to my reality show. It takes place in a little remote town called Attalla, Alabama about 60 miles from Birmingham. It is here where I grew up in a low income family of 6. My father passed away when I was 17 years old so I had to ensure Mom was taken care of while I paid my way through school. This was mid 1980s.
Quick note about my family Mom is 86 and disabled living with one brother age 58 who is very low income. Up the street my disabled sister lives in another house I own determined not to go to a nursing home age 66. Then my other brother 64 who is also diasabled .
Ensuring as I dream as a child they have a home to live in has been a task for me as I am the youngest. I try to keep the houses they live in fixed up as much as the other few I own. I am also disabled from a work injury . I worked 32 years in retail management at the 2 top retailers.
When I saw young I would always daydream about being able to have each of my brothers and sisters a home as well as myself. This dream has come ture but in return I have traded things where I live to be not as nice as I would if I hadnt helped my family all my life.
I am currently moving from one area of Birmingham called Mt. Olive (Gardendale) to another location called
Graysville (Trussville) both in the Birmingham , Al. area. Moving will make it closer for me to get to Attalla when they need me yet still close to Birmingham and my doctors I need to see due to my disability. A very rare spinal injury.
So the reason I am applying has many posssiblities. 1- for my sisters house to be update to make it more disability friendly for her . There is so much to do I cant afford just to keep it up without full rent coming in. 2- My new home I am moving into in nice but due to funds spread out in all my properties which I try to keep fixed very nice for low income families. That along with the money I spend on the 2 house my family lives in .
What I would like to see on the number two wish for myself and family is a very in kitchen , deck and bathrooms up to date. I can afford the house which will be closer to my family and doctors but cant afford to update how I wished it looked after an extreme make over takes place.
Its kinda like a new slate moving but I houses I would like to have would cost too much and I cant sacrifice the help I give my family and the needy for extreme. I would love to have a nice kitchen , deck and bathrooms in my new house even though it isnt the house I could have if I didnt help everyone else. But the scarifice is worth it I believe you should take care of your family and others needs before your own desires.

My name is Motheo staying in SA and I'm writting in behalf of my mother who is a pensioner right now married with three kids. My dad was never supportive in many things and now that she want to enjoy her pension money as a former teacher the money is too little and can not even renovate on her own and still dad does not want to help with his pension money, the sad part is she did everything in her powers to take us to school, me and my sister are working but my salary is too little to help her, my sister have got her large family to take care of. My brother is not working. Other than everything my mother did not only took care of us but she was helping out anyone who is struggling from our siblings even from my dad's side. She worked hard but have nothing even her car have problems at the moment.
Almost 4 years ago we eagerly moved to the family farm with intentions of renovating the home in order to take care of my aging father-in-law. We built a temporary apartment in the barn to allow us to live on the property until the house was inhabitable. My husbands father had allowed the home to be neglected and in a hording state. We began the clean out and were ready to sign equity loan papers. My husband is in love with the idea that he could return to his childhood home. Over the years some of the land has been sold, but he was excited for our 8 year old son to be able to enjoy the country. The week we were to sign papers my husband got ill. He was diagnosed with papillary thyroid cancer BRAF+, making his cancer aggressive. He has been stage 4 since the beginning and is terminal. He has had surgeries and is currently under treatment at the Ohio State University. The house has been on hold ever since. I struggle daily thinking about my husbands health declining and caring for an elderly father-in-law. I am embarrassed for my son as he is learning the hard way that people are not really sure about people living in a barn. The bottom line is we need help. We need help creating a safe, healthy, functional home. We have plenty sweat equity and elbow grease and do not shy away from work. My husband needs comfort, my father-in-law needs care with independence, my son needs some normalcy, and I need some sanity. Please consider us for a home make over. Thank you.

Hi my name is Karla Bardwell and I would like to tell you about my family and my house. I am 36 years old and live in Belton, MO. I have 4 beautiful children 3 boys and 1 girl ages 13,10, 8 and 5. I am a widow and have been for 5 and a half years. My husband passed away on 11 11 11 in a fatality car accident 5 minutes from home. Prior to his accident let me take you back. We lived in south Kansas City in a rent to own home or so we thought. It got for closed on by the landlord and we were forced out. We found a beautiful home that was a fixer upper that needed small repairs. We moved in when my daughter was 12 days old with all the hopes and excitement of our first home and we would fix it up as we had time and money. With my husband's death came me raising 4 kids, I found a part time job a year later where I'm still at but there is no extra money for repairs to the house. We have carpet that needs updated, floors that need redone, a bathroom that needs some work and my middle soname has a small room.There is some other things but these are the main. It would be a huge honor for my kids to be able to have the house that there dad always wanted them to have. A place to truly call home and to be proud of. Please consider my family. I have a school aged son, so I have been trying to work while under going operations and chemo treatments. at times I have had to take a leave of absence . I could really use some help with fixing up my place . I need new bathrooms as one of them isn't even working right now . I would like to improve my bedroom and make it first floor accessible in the event I can't go up stairs as I might become more sick with my diagnosis. I find it hard to keep up with taking care of the home and yet as the time has passed since my diagnosis I really need to spend more time in my home. I want it to be a warm living peaceful place . I need ome help with the hime improvements and feel my son and I deserve this chance as I battle stage 3 ovarian and interperitenial cancer . thanks for the opportunity to help a family . Hi there! In angelica and I live in Reno,NV and I live with my boyfriend in this cute little house. Unfortunately this 3 bedroom house is coming apart and not in good condition for us. We soon would like to start family but with the house coming apart its just not going to happen anytime soon. We do have two dogs and our backyard is really not in good condtion for them i try to keep them inside but our place is to small. Especially in the summer even though this place doesnt have an a/c it gets really hot inside and the shade helps a little but not enough we got a swap cooler but it broke down and he have to manually water it every 5min. Hi this is my second attempt to reach out for help I am the oldest daughter of a family of twelve when I wrote some years back and sent a video my family was living a house with poor conditions and my father had passed as of the present time the house has burn down and all of the siblings are basically homeless my mother is living in a home that has no water, lights and bath room I don't know what else to do but just ask God to touch the heart of man to help. Out of all the stories I read; I truly respect everyone's struggle because we all live a everyday struggle you know. But before I start I'll just like to say that I hope we're the lucky family that is chosen for our house to be remodeled as well that I wouldn't want our home to be sold like how my grandmas house was because it's a family home it has been passed down to my father from his father and they're so many memories in that place, I want to have my kids my sisters kids as well as my kids children to make even more memories and continue to pass it down. My family lives in Denver, Colorado in the southeast area we have lived out here for quiet some time and our house has never been so many flaws inside and out that needs to be fixed there were times we had to boil water just to take baths because my father running back and forth to my grandmas house when the electricity would go out as well as having to turn the water off so our water bill won't be as high. I never imagined that we would be struggling for this long because we don't have the money so that we can remodel our home, as well as my father who has just found a job to take care of my sisters and I after being jobless for a long time and he's always had a plan on how he will redesign his mother and fathers home that's one of his biggest goals he wants to do before his dad goes.. I have tried to apply for this but it won't let me from a phone guess. Well hopefully this gets read. I'm writing in hopes of getting help with my home. I have 5kids and a grandson plus my sister and her 4kids all live with me. My mother and my brother also live with me as well. I take care of all them. I thought I was making a good choice when I bought a house then I ran into a lot of bumps on the way not Knowing there was so many problems till after I got it. I paid a contractor to fix it but he just made it worse and took my money and dipped. Now I'm trying so hard to fix this house but it's hard my roof is leaking my walls are bad even my floors need fixed and need a furnace I have to turn it on emergency heat during the winter. And my central air broke. I've had a electric bill that cost $2400. During the winter. Furnace runs off electric. My mother has been getting sick off and on and this heat ain't good for her. I love the spot my home is in because I have 2kids with a.d.h.d. and mood disorders that the neighbors I have now understand and still love my kids. I would give anything if I could just get a break and be able to relax in my own home without worrying what gonna go wrong next. Me having to have a full hysterectomy this past January really hurt me financially I can't get caught up to save my life. I'm so behind I can't even get my car tagged and insured I have to borrow my sister in laws car every time I gotta go anywhere. Rite now life is so hard but I continue to try make all my kids happy. I don't know where else to turn. Hopping and praying I can catch a break so I'm trying my luck on here. Hi,my name is Madeline im 21 and belong to a caring family. They have been through so much and these last two years have been hard. They live in a shack on forty acre which my dad and stepmom own. It literally off grid so there source of power is windmills and salar and batteries off a generator. For the last 5 years they have made it work. It literally one room that all 8 kids live in with my parents and a family friend. It hard watching them all struggle as no one has privacy. But they have made it work. With my stepmom having heart failure it getting harder and harder for her to be home as she doesn't have much space or room and it very hard to keep the shack clean which doesn't help my stepmom. I'm In winter time it all wood burning so the smoke gets to her to the point where she can't breathe or it get to cold and my parents have to leave for my stepmom health. I realize what im I'm asking is a miracles but with my parents getting the opportunity to get get a new place with privacy and the abilities to keep my stepmom home and the kids get their space would be amazing. As is when my sister and I go home which is quite often there nowhere for us abd the kids have to squeeze together to sleep. Im I'm asking for a home where everyone wants to be and a place where it ok for my stepmom to cook or wash dishes without feeling sick or just in a tight space. It a miracle for sure but i believe with your help you can give us the home everyone will want to come to and not feel like everyone will be squeezed in or no privacy.

My wife and I have been missionaries in Honduras C.A. since Aug. 8, 1993. We have a children's home/ranch and have raised about 50 children and youth in our home. One of our main financial means of support for our home here in Honduras is a small home in Wheatland, WY my great-aunt left me years ago when she passed away and we rent it out. Problem is that it is in such great need of repair, especially the roof, this past year our home owners insurance dropped us and we can't get it insured unless repairs are made, but we do not have the funds to make the repairs. We finally have a great long-term renter, but we are concerned to loose her due to the repairs needed. Recently my dad was diagnosed with Stage 4 colon cancer with metstasis of the liver. As of right now he just completed his 6th chemo treatment and can no longer work. My father was the financial support for my family. This has cause great stress for my parents and a huge life change. With chemo to only maintain his cancer hebwill never be able to work again. I have my own family and curently trying to financially take care of both house holds. I have tried looking into buying a house but with several student loans on my credit I can not afford a hpuse big enough for us all. My parent house will hold use just needs some remodelling. We could movebin the basement but it needs to be water proof and finished for us to move in. I just want to make it where my parents can be happy and my father not to have to stress while fighting for his life. My dad is my hero. At the age of 14 my father adopted my older sister and myself. I met him at the age 11, I had no clue at the time he would be the man that would change my life. I am just hoping to be able to do the same for him.

They hired a guy and gave him over $30, 000 for supplies. The total cost was 56,000. The house was originally to be done the end of April 2017. Come to find out the end of May he had pocketed $16,000 for him self , which he wasn't supposed to get his pay until the job was finished. Sunday June 4th they had to move in to a disaster. My sister is so generous and giving and her husband works hard to provide. Oh yeah I forgot to mention they have 3 daughters who are living in this dusty mess.

Hello! My name is Ashley. I am 26 years old and a mother of three wonderful kids. We live in a very small town in West Texas. We live with my grandparents. I moved back home about 4 years ago when I found out I was pregnant with my twins. I was in a town with no family and no help to turn to. So I called back home and my mother and grandmother said for us to move back. We have been here ever since. It's been a real rough year and a half. On Christmas eve of 2015 We got a phone call our mother passed away. She passed of a massive heartattck in her sleep. We miss her dearly but I know she's watching done on us. I have stayed here with my grandparents to help them out. Things have been tough. My grandfather is lossing his eye sight and can hardly see much any more of anything. I help my grandmother with taking care of him and house chores that she needs help with. I take them to the majority of their Dr. Appointments which are out of town. We have to almost drive out of town for everything. The closest Wal-Mart to us is 30minz away. My twins are still to young for full time school so I'm a stay at home mom for now. My oldest son helps me out a lot when things need to get done. I would really like to give my grandparents the most greatest gift my remodeling their house for them. It would help us out tremendously! I feel bad and horrible because I can't help them out as much as they do for me and my kids. Their house is just falling apart little by little and there isn't much I can do for them at the moment. We have only one vehicle for all six of us to use to get out of town it is very hard for us to do anything. There are times my aunt has to come for my grandparents just so we can go out of town for a few days. Hey extreme home makeover my name is quashun mcgee I'm here to apply for a extreme make over home edition me and my family are in desperate need of a home makeover my granddaddy who is 76 has just recently found out his brother left him a house my granddad n grandmother has been living in a one bedroom apartments for years so this was good news my granddad asked my mom and me and my lil sister n brother to move in with them since it was a family home this was great news to us also I watched my mom struggle for years raising my disabled sister and me and my lil brother my mom has been out of work for years raising us off a once a month check I work daily to help my mom out but we still seem to struggle life is so hard when it's a lot of pressure on you so my grandad said we could all move in together to take some of the struggle off my grandad n grandma are very old n has lots of health condition they are living off a once a month income also so my granddad had to go threw a lot of hassle to get the house hos brother left him we finally got the keys n deed to the house after months of court service so when we went to the house to look at it it was a mess the house had been burnt up on one side n the out side was full of old items and trash and old rugs and old wood,tires,iron,metal and etc. The inside was full of old midew clothes n furniture so we had to remove all this before we moved in we worked day and night cleaning this house out it took 2 months to get all this old junk out the house so we moved in we had to get a gas inspector n a plumber n a eltrician we went broke 3 months straight paying for all that I work n get paid every 2 weeks I work part-time at newks eatery my granddad and grandma and mom get a once a month check so we have a lot to do with no money plus we all have needs that we need each month I'm paying off my fines to the city that I owe over 2000 plus i had to pawn my car title to help pay for things for the house everyone we get to fix something charge us the max just because people have no heart we just pray and take each day one at a time I'm here begging to see if we maybe can win a home makeover I'm tired of my granddad n grandma struggling ice watched my mom struggle my whole life my disabled sister barely can walk she can't talk n it's hard for her to live in this house her amune system is not strong n can't fight off all this bacteria around us my sister need essiables In the house so her life could be a lil ease I just wish we could get help remodeling this house cause we will be years bringing this house to the right pace to live in we are from Jackson ms we really would be grateful if we got the chance to get a home makeover I story is very deep n depressing.

Hello my name is Celia Yazzie I'm from Alamo Navajo, New Mexico I am 32 years old I am a mother of 6 children. I have no income coming in except that only my husband is working but covers the bills. We live in a rental house and is under Navajo Nation Housing. This house is full of moldes and eveytime we clean it mold starts growing back and which my son is allergic to. We also let housing know but nothing seems to get done, there is also cracked walls and cracked floors n cold air goes both the front and back doors and sometimes we don't have running water in this area we live for 1 week to a month. We have been wanting a home to call ours for the longest time and has not happen for us yet. We have been seeking help for my son Elijah who was diagnosed with a skin disorder called Empidermelusa Ballosa. He has had this condition since he was 8 months old and now he is 8 years old, Elijah has been recently referred to the Children's Hospital in Denver Colorado but we are unable to the him because of financial problems we have we just don't have the money to take him to get the help he needs. He is also unable to go outside as a normal child and play at times because if he is in the sun for to long he will blister. We have asked Navajo Nation for help on building us a home through their program for people with disability problem but we got denied for the home or it is in a long progress where we have to keep updating our application. It is very stressful to be in a situation like this where we can't seem to get help, My son Elijah was also told that he has to live in a clean environment because of his condition he has with his health. We can build our house but we don't have the finance to do so with the illness my son has. I hope we can get him the help he needs to live in a better home. We have been in a big struggle because I am unable to seek job or get any type of assistance to help my husband take care of our kids. So I pray to God everyday to be able to own a home of our own one day and for my son to live happy in a clean environment. I hope this is the place we can get help. If there is anyway to get my dad any help, would you please? He also takes care of my 74 year old grandmother who is an eighteen year survivor of breast cancer. His house is falling in around him. He's on disability so can't afford another place. He's lived in this house since he was 18. I was brought home here as well as my younger sister and younger brother. I brought my two children home here. My sister brought my niece and nephew home here. He was a single parent. He raised the three of us , on his own. He's took in many over the years and wouldn't hesitate to give you the shirt off of his back. If I was financially stable enough, I'd just build him a brand new one. Sadly, that isn't the case. I'm scared this house will kill my father. He's going to be sleeping one night and the whole thing is going to come crashing in. Please help me help him!!!
