  1. Hello,

My name is Arionna Johnson and I am from a small town in Ohio called Dayton. I am writing Extreme Makeover because my grandmother, who is also my guardian, is in dire need of a new house. Since 1999, I have lived with my grandma in this house and she has been nothing but a home for many of our family members. She took me along with my brother and all six of my cousins in and took care of us. Also she took in one of my brothers friends who got kicked out of his house for dropping out of college. A few years ago she retired and is living off fixed income and just this year she had to file for bankruptcy because she has no money to take care of anybody.I do not even have enough money to pay for college and now I cannot not apply for any loans because my grandmas credit is ruined. My grandmother had to put her dog to sleep a few months back and all she is left with is this house that has mold in the basement and in the kitchen our ceiling is gone due to busted pipes and water damage. Every time it rains water gets in our basement and it is becoming unsafe for us to go down there. Our washer recently broke so in spite of our basement being unsafe, we have to spend tons of money going to the laundry mat. There is not enough room for everybody to sleep because there is so many of us. My grandma's only wish before she died was to have a dining room table big enough for the whole family to eat at. Our shower does not work so we struggle taking baths in a timely manner so that people will not be late for school etc. All I am asking is that you take this plead into consideration because we are suffering and I just want to make my grandmother happy. Thank you for your time! It hurts me to see my grandma so stress because a few years ago before she retired she was doing great and now that she is getting old and she retired she has lost all hope for a good future. Nobody ever does anything nice for her and I am in fear everyday because I see her smoke double the cigarettes that she use to and they are killing her! Please help our family.

  2. Hi, my name is Christine O'Leary. I know everyday a ton of comments come in for request on home make overs. Everyone that sends a request probally deserves a new home, but not like my family. There are 6 people living in my home. My father and mother, my brother and sister, also me and my daughter. Im only 16 and a have a daughter who is a month old, rite now her bed room is in the dining room. i sleep in the living room because my room is too far away to hear her. i also share a room with my sister and a door way seperates our brothers room and i wouldnt want to wake them when she crys. Our house only has 3 bedrooms. We also only have 1 bathroom. Everyone cant even sit in the living room at the same time. We have been trying to move because we cant affoid to rebuild or add on. My mom is the only one in the house that works except my sister who is 18, but needs her money for school and such things. my father has medical issues so he is unable to work. I know the greatest thing in the world to him and everyone else would be a new home, but even better.. a new home in our same neighborhood. I dont know what else to say to convince you to makeover our home, except please, it would be like a miracle.

  3. Hello, my name is Mari. I am eleven years old and i want you to re model my grandma's house.
My grandma lives up in Northern New Mexico. She lives on a ranch of 75 acres. Her house has no A.C. and her only warmth is a gas heater.
Her house is falling appart, with a single bedroom, and a single bathroom. She has a hard time breathing, and has never been on a vacation.
She gets about five hundred a month to live off of, and is taking care of three dogs and one horse.
All she has ever said about her husband is that he died before my father was born, from falling off his horse. The clostes thing that she had was her brother, Gilbert. He died several years ago, and she is now lonley at her little home.
My grandma knows every tree, hill, and rock of her ranch. Yet with all of her horrible breathing problems, she can't enjoy her land and home as much. When she comes in from a long day of work, she doesn't have a proper place to rest, espicaly at her age.
She keeps very little food with her, because there are many bears that roam near her house. Also, she has spotted a lion and found tracks. The bear that usually comes to her house is a mother bear, with two cubs.
My grandma loses alot of sleep, because the bear had been coming almost every night.
My grandma is a very religious person, and says God knows All, and she really inspires me any many, many other people to be interdepressent.
I am writing this without anyone knowing, because my parents say that dreams rarely come true. If you do chose this family, I wouldn't want you to tear down her old house, becuase her great grandfather built it.
Please consider my grandmother. SHe doesn't want anything superfancy, just something that is sustainable to live in.
    Thank You, and God Bless!

  4. I was just thinking of all the wonderful ways your show has touched lives of deserving people. This past week my family took our new kitten to be neutered at an affordable (non-profit) spay and neuter clinic. Located in north Miami for more years than I can remember, the same kind woman works to care for the good of animals and their owners. The facility turns no one away and works on donations. Located not in the best area of Miami, the facility operates on love and compassion for animals. With that said, the facility is intolerable to the average person. The cleanliness and facilities are reflective of their minimal financial income. Time and supplies are donated by local veterinarians and volunteers. The woman who operates the facility is elderly and not in the best health. Her ability to care for the facility is quite difficult due to the fact that it does not have cages and equipment that would allow for proper cleaning. The smell of urine is poisoning, yet she continues on her journey to change the lives of pets and their owners. This project really wouldn't be extremely expensive to makeover, yet the attention to pet ownership responsibility and how special pets are to many people in this world could be highlighted. Thank you for your consideration.

  5. My name is Markell. I have a diabetic mate who requires a wheelchair. I have six children ranging from 16yrs to 2yrs in a three-and-a-half bedroom house that is literally falling apart. The floor is giving away, the walls are easily broken, the plumbing is bad and the floor requires a light step. I am almost through paying for it, but it was raggedy when we moved into it. (I really need a brand new house.) My family is blessed to have a roof over our heads, however; if we can get it to stop leaking, it would be even better.

  6. Hi my name is Angela and I am a military wife of 12 yrs. I am writing this in regards for my father he is 55 yrs old and has bought his property about 11 years ago. When he had bought this place he loved it and the guy made it look great , my dad wasnt picky he loved the country but it has really turned on him. He has a double wide trailer on the land which was there with an addition built on it , also came a barn with it . Right now the addition to my fathers home has collapsed totally he had to put a make shift wall up so no one could get to that part of the house. He lives in Berlin ny so there is rain and snow so now we are worried about mold. My husband is stationed in Fort Bragg , NC when we go home our 3 boys can not stay there cause they are worried about the mold getting to them. My father is a great man and I know that a lot of people say this but he deserves it he really does. I worry about him everyday and his wife. I feel bad that I can not do anything to help him . HE recently went for a job and he was denied because they said he was in risk of cardiac arrest. I know as you get older jobs become fewer but this house is going to kill my dad and stepmom. I am so scared to see what is to come of this . I really dont know where else to turn. Please Extreme Makeover helpmy dad and his wife. I have pictures of the house to show you if you are interested please email me if you would like to see them. I will try to pay whatever I can to help this please help, I would love to beable to stay at my fathers with his 3 grandchildren when I come home to visit. I miss my daddy time. Thnak you for listening.

  8. Is it true that the show that I watch every sunday and now on friday is cancelled? I am a disabled veteran from the grenada, panama, first gulf war, hoping that I would be able to fill out an application for a home. Been homeless off and on since 2005. So Sorry to see you leave. Such a sad day. May God Bless all that your show have done. Keena

  9. I am emailing you for help on my brother-in-law and sister-in-laws house. My brother-in-law has prostrate cancer and has been partially paralyzed and confined to a wheel chair and has been forced to retire. they are currently living with my mother-in-law and the house has been converted to support the needs of my brother-in-law. this works out well due to brother-in-law has daily needs and my mother-in-law which is in her 70's and has health issues are able to help each other out while his wife is at work. the house that they own currently has issues and they owe quite a lot on the house and cannot afford to make the payments. I am currently trying to remodel the bathroom, bedroom and some issues on the second floor with the ceiling and floor. All they want to do is sell the house. If this could happen they will able to make it on the small retirement that he is currently receiving ((less than $17,000 per year)). The house payment is currently $900.00 per month. I am starting the work this Saturday and will not stop till work is complete. All I hope is when work is complete is that the house will sell. They along with my dad and father-in-law helped me build my house 18 years and I hope that I can help them like they helped me. They are very giving people. There is so much more I good I could say about them but it would take days to tell you :-). P.S. Maybe you could buy the house and give it to a needy family.Helping 2 family's at a time. Sincerely Ron

  10. Dear extreme home make over,
my husband died in Somalia and now is left to raise two kids on my own. My youngest son almost lost his hand in a terrible house fire when he was two. I was emigrated to the United States eight years ago. I have four kids but two of them are living on their own. I try my very est to be there for my children but i have a disability. I do all that's in my power to give my kids the healthy home environment they deserve so very much. It would mean the world to me if you guys helped us building our home. I came to America to get my children to safety, I left everything behind just to make sure they got the life I always wanted. They do extremely well in school and since I never went to school, they teach me what they learned at school. They are my hero's and I want absolutely best for them. I remember my 11 year old son asking me one day when we were going to move into a house like all the rest of his friends. Our community is wonderful and very supportive and we try to give back as much as we can. It's just something that seams so far away but yet so possible. A warm smile is what i get when I tell them we won't be moving into a house this year which is all i tell them year after year. It would be a dream come true if you helped me. My 14 year old doesn't bring her friends over anymore because i think she's ashamed of the fact our home isn't even a house really. I feel like I failed because what i have is god's miracle which is amazing, talented, sincere children. It's just heartbreaking sometimes but they understand my frustration to make them fully happy so they always tell me that my smile is the key to theirs . They never had a father figure in their lives so I try to be a father as well as a mother. I raised my two oldest in a refugee camp in Kenya so they could escape the violence in Somalia. I was so afraid that my oldest son would turn into a gang banger and worse that I filed to come to America. Life was hard but eventually we adapted to the new world. It was just so full of happiness and opportunity. I want everything that I never got to have for my children. I want them to learn to be someones shining star and more. I teach them to get involved with the community and to do good. They are my all and this is why I am writing to you.
    Sincerely,
    Rukia

  12. This is the Reeves family. Im Natasha and I'm 29 years old. We live in Pell City,Alabama. David and I have been married for 12 1/2 years and have 3 children, Issiack 12, Dylan 11 and Devin 9. David,31, was born with kidney problems which caused his kideys to shut down at the age of 17. He began kidney dialysis in 1999. He received a transplant from his mother in 2001. He did well for a while but because of the high cost of his anti rejection medicine, he could not receive the medication and once again his kidneys failed in 2004.And began dialysis again in 2005.He had had over 100 surgeries just for dialysis. It blocked his arteries. David had cardiac arrest in April 2010 and was on life support from April 11- April 16.The doctors told us he was ineligible for transplant because he had blocked arteries. In a last attempt to save his life he received a kidney from his father.Currently he is doing well, but through all of this it has really taken a toll on our family and our living situation. Due to his condition he is not able to work and will be on disability from now on. We live in a 16×80 square foot mobile home, which we purchasedin 2002. When we got it it had severe fire damage, faulty wiring, and mold that keeps coming back no matter how many times I scrub it with bleach. We have been members of Cook Springs Baptist Church for 4 years. We feel extremely blessed to have our friends and family that have been with us over the last 12 vears. We do not have the means or money to fix our home. We are on a very limited disability income. Our children are getting sick in the winter time becaus our home does not stay properly heated. And the mold is keeping David and our daughter Devin sick.Allergy and respirtory problem.I pray that you will help us. We have done every thing we can do within our power. I just want my husband to remain healthy, and my children to be healthy and happy. And that is not possible with all the things we have wrong in our home.God bless you and the work you do for families like ours in need and thank you for considering us.

  16. Dear extreme home maker over crew,

I humbly ask that you give my dream of seeing my aunty get what she deserves most, a chance to benefit from your hard working hands. What a blessing it would be:) She spends a lot of time and pride in her home, a small two bed room house. It is not in the best shape and could use A LOT of improvement.

We are from a small island called Molokai, attached to the Hawaii island chain. It is a small secluded island, making it hard to get appropriate supplies to upkeep a house.

My aunty has raised me as her own. A single parent, working a minimum waitressing job. She has sacrificed a lot of her time and income to support me. Without her support, I would not be what I am today. She always expressed the importance of education to me. Being that she was unable to further her education. Because of her motivation and selflessness I am now pursuing a master degree in social work.

Since I am in no means able to give back to my aunty what she has graciously given me. I thought of writing the show in hopes that her story and wishes will be heard.

She has a heart of gold, and does a good job of not letting letting her feelings and problems show. Though, Its clear that she is going through financial hardships. She is a breast cancer survivor, and have had the chance to develop a different outlook on life. She is extremely important to my family and I.

  17. Dear Ty and Crew,

Please take the time to read my story. My name is Ashley- 23 year old from California and I would like to tell you about my father, mother, and brother. The most important struggle my family is now coping with is the loss of my 20 year old brother. He committed suicide 4 months ago which has left my family and community  completely devastated. The un-answered questions and regrets has taken a toll on my family, especially my father.

My father owns a trucking business in San Francisco that he has been working for since he was a kid who his father started it in the 50s. Since the economy has gone down so has his business to where he has to pick up jobs where ever he can to stay a float. Even if it means working 7 days a week. The death of my brother has completely devastated him and it's been a struggle to understand what has happened.

Last year my mother was diagnosed with breast and skin cancer. She has survived both and is also working 2 jobs to keep up.

My wish is for parents to be able to come home to a home they can relax and heal in.  They have  given so much to my brother and I and never take the time for themselves.  Our house is also a duplex, so you wouldn't just be helping one family, but two.
Please help my parents Ty and crew! It would mean the world to me.

    Sincerely, Ashley.

  18. Our school lost a great educator who had a dream of building a sustainable outdoor classroom. We are stepping up to continue building his dream. See this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=29iVyhUP8k0

We need to jumpstart environmental awareness and that can happen if we poise our schools to train armies of passionate change-makers.
Our first desire is to collect funding to use to keep the outdoor classroom maintained and avoid the situation that we previously experienced. We need to “sustain” what we have now. –It would be great to have a small shed where we could store tools, supplies, and a first-aid kit. Something like that could be a nice Eagle Scout project for a local troop. And a weatherproof plaque that honors Mr. Fowler would be wonderful.

But the picture that I am trying to paint in the video is bigger than just mowing weeds. We have thoughts that include a pathway, pond, walking bridge, windmill weather station, etc. Each item would be treated as a project that would require funding, expertise, and labor. It would be great to hear from interested engineers, handymen, landscapers, etc. As an example, an area pond expert has contacted me and volunteered to work with us in the early planning stages and hopefully beyond.

I’m crossing my fingers, but I’m confident that we will attract attention and build something that other schools can use to consider getting their own teachers and students outside. Beyond the classroom desires however, we need to make sure that we can encourage our teachers to use it. I’m working on a survey to help measure the problems that occur with teaching outside. –maybe we need an outdoor bathroom.?

I’ll stop there but that’s some of the stuff we are thinking about, and I am interested in your own thoughts.
On behalf of the students and faculty of Omro High School, our community, and all of the followers of Mr. Fowler, I thank you dearly.
    Your friend,
    Miranda Sakschek

  19. hey im Rachel, a proud daughter, sibling, niece, and grandaughter of everyone in my family. Our family has been through a lot. I want a home makeover for my grandmother because shes delt with a lot in life and has given up a lot to make people happy and listening to everyone else make choices, she wishes she made on her house by herself cant be redone. We dont have all the money we wish we did to fix the problems we have in our home and there r many starting with our inside and ending with outside. We need more space and to add shine on our street because it feels so boring and plain riding down our street. Please understand we do need the help and Im probably the only teenage kid who wants to give back for my family as much as i can. Btw, my grandmother and i watch you guys every night its her first channel at midnight to turn on. Please let my hope come true and surprise my grandma, Thank you.

  20. Hello, my name is Samantha Mclain. I am here to talk about my mom, well the closest thing I have. My mother died in 2001 and her best friend took in my sister and I since she has done so her life has slowly tumbled down a slow spiral of financial struggle. There house has been falling apart bit by bit. She and her husband have a lean on there home due to not having the money to pay certain bills for the house. And for the last 6 years she has been renting out rooms in the dilapidated house just to make ends meet. The roof is falling in, parts of the ceiling in different parts of the house look as if thought they could fall in at any moment, there are a lot of electrical problems, and the floors feel like were going to fall through. Not only do her, her husband but me and my 20 month old daughter live here. They have been gracious enough to help me out while im trying to get back on my feet. Were scared to live here but we dont have anyone to help us repair the house and nowhere else to live. If you could give them there wish of finally having a beautiful house I know they would be very greatful. I really just ant to repay them for all the things they do for everyone and still cant get the things they need done to there house. Please open your hearts to them and make there house a home.

  21. To whoever it may concern

  22. I just want to help my grandmother. She's taken care of almost our entire family in the same home. She's 73 years old and still has never felt what it is like to have a space that is her own. She has an old house in Gaffney, SC. Someone started to work on it but he died before finishing it 12 years ago. The house has been left unfinished and getting even more crowded. We live very modestly so money is hard to come by in large amount to find GOOD work. I just want to see my grandmother have something that's finally hers.

  23. Hello, my name is Carrie and hoping someone can help with my sister Julie. My sister has 5 kids including one child that has Rubinstein–Taybi syndrome that is now 19 years old and still goes to school. Julie and her husband Kevin live in a mobile home type house that has 3 bedrooms and 1 bathroom. The plumbing is extremely bad and there is just no room or privacy for any of them. Alot of us in town have discussed trying to figure out a way to help them but the funds are not available. I have served my country and really hope that I can help serve my sisters family on helping them get a new house with the 4 girls and 1 boy have space to grow and have privacy of their own. They are very cramped in this small house and barely have room to move around and need your help. I really hope you consider my sisters family for an extreme home makeover. Thank you much and hope I will be talking to you soon.

  24. My name is Courtney, and I'm fifteen. I'm not in need of a house makeover, but I'd love to be on the show. I dream of being an architect, and my ULTIMATE dream is to become the new 'Ty Pennington' on a new edition of the show in years to come. My school does a graduation project, and I must complete a job shadow. I think it'd be an INCREDIBLE opportunity to help design and remodel a needy families home! I've watched the show since fifth grade, and always wanted to be on it! I've wanted to be an architect and interior designer since sixth grade, party because of watching the show. Please get back to me! I live in Pa. I'd travel for the show to Ohio, West Virginia, Virginia, and New York! Thanks for your time, and I hope to hear back.

  25. Dear Extream Home Makeover I am asking to redo my moms house is 76 and is 25 years plus free of breast cancer. My Dad passed away with lymphoma cancer in 2001. She has given us her children & grandchildren everything she could more and her house needs major repairs. This house my Dad built in 1966 it has no insululated wall all concrete & concrete floors also. Real cold in the winter and hard to heat. She has mold problems and also the walls are starting to crack. My family of five help take care of her even though she is a very strong person. We do not have the funds to rebuild or build another home for all of us or just her to live. We are renting a house close to her to help her and watch out for her. Please consider us as a family of interest. Thanks very much.

  26. Dear , Home Extreme Makeover. I am 16 years old, I live with my grandad and my mother. My Grandmother passed away back in 08', and before she died, she told my grandad she wanted to move. So my grandad fixed up this other house. But now the roof leaks in the hallway , bathroom , my moms room and did leak in the living room. Our fridge leaks also. We have four doors to outside and only one of them locks , and the things that have been happening around here lately im afraid to go to sleep sometimes, afraid someone will break in. Because my grandad can't hear without his hearin aids. our ceiling in the bathroom is falling in , and our power box always cuts the power off , and it sparks. Im afraid the house will catch on fire one day, then we would be without a home. My grandpa can't afford to fix everything , he is 84 years old. Our house has mold all in it , and im allergic to it. and i don't want my grandad to get sick because of it.

  27. Hi. My name is Angel and I am 31. I'm writing to tell you about my mom. She is superwoman. I was born with polycystic kidney disease. Basically cysts took over my kidneys. Doctors didnt know what was wrong with me til I was 6 and by that point I was down to only half of a kidney. I had to be admitted to hospital immediately to be put on emergency dialysis. Since then I've had 2 transplants, ( both rejected). And have had numerous other health issues and complications and have almost died on several occasions. I'm still on dialysis to this day. My mom has been my rock and deserves a lot more than I can give her. Today she is taking care of my stepdad, Scott. A few years ago he found out he has diabetes. He had one of his legs amputated just this past summer and now he's at risk of losing his other leg too. My mom has done everything for me and my family. Right now she is unemployed and struggling to keep her home. A home that is not ideal for my stepdad. He can't even be in the bathroom and have door closed because it is so small. And it's really difficult to get around in the home. Not only does my mom take care of him but she also drives across town to make sure I get to dialysis 3 times a week. I would love it if we could be on same property because I love being close to my mom. Please help us with our situation. It's been years since I've seen my mom completely happy and stress free. Thank you again

  32. Hi! My name is Tina. I'm 19 years old and have two children, one is 11 months and the other is 1 month old. My husband and I got married when I was 18. Getting married at the time was the best thing that could have happened, until I found out he was cheating. We are currently separated. I no longer have a place to call home. My kids and I are back and forth between my fathers house and my mother in laws house. I hope and pray that you could give me the opportunity to give my children a home. Their father doesn't have much to do with them, especially when it comes to supporting them.

  33. My mom Lisa Buske is writeing a book now about a tragety that happened in this family berfore i was born. I am 13, and this tragety happened 17 almost 18 years ago. My aunt went missing, Her name is Heidi Allen and she was 18 at that time and was kidnapped from a gas station. No one has seen her since. This has change our familys way of life my mom is writing to help others with tragetys that happened in there family. I believe she diserves a new house where she can have a office and a sitting / library room. Also a Calming and welcoming house where she can calm herself and get her work done . My dad , Edward Buske also diserves this because he has a heart to help if he notices it or not. I would be honored if you would select my familys home to be Extreme makeovered. Thank you i will be cheaking out my email often!

  34. Hi,
My name is Jennifer. I am 22 years old and from GA. I am asking your help not for me but for my older sister Crystal and her family. My sister is my hero, she took me into her home when I was 16 years old because my parent were not around. Even tho she really didn't have the space for me or really the money to support me and her family. She and her husband did the best they could. I moved out when i was 19 and she and her husband Brian live in a very small 3 bedroom home with 4 children. Their house is falling apart piece by piece and they don't have the money to fix anything. My sister is a stay at home mom and my brother-in-law works as hard as he can to support their family. They have 3 boys and 1 girl. (Brianna 9, Brent 7, Curt 5 and John 8 months)My is also fostered a little girl named Arianna up til 2 years ago when her mother could get custody. Brianna has her own room and Brent and curt share a very small room together with one bed. John sleeps in the room with my sister and brother in law because he doesn't have a room. My sisters bathroom doesn't work and they use it for storage because they have no where to store anything. The only bathroom that works is the kids bathroom and it is falling apart. There is water damage to the walls and floor of the bathroom. And I'm scared that mold might
be living behind the walls where the water damage is and Brianna and Curt have asthma and John is still a baby. They have no heating in the house and with winter lurking around the corner I'm worried that my sisters family is going to get really sick. There is so many other problems wrong with their house but to many to list. My sister is a very kind loving person and trys to help everyone and her family before herself and loves kids. She deserves a better home to be able to raise her family in and not have to worry about if the kids are going to get sick or be to cold or how much longer shes going to be able to live there. So please help me make my sisters dream come true.

  37. Hi Ty and Crew,
I wish to nominate my cousin, Wendy, and her family for a new home makeover. I just moved back home to Michigan after being absent for 20 years. Over the past year I have been able to spend a lot of time with Wendy’s family and have discovered that she is an amazing woman. Wendy’s family includes her husband, a daughter and son. Wendy’s daughter is autistic and Wendy has said she will take care of her the rest of her life. She never wants her to end up in a special home.
Her husband, Dan, has worked hard at the same job for 25 years. Wendy also works while her daughter is in school, but cannot work during the summer as it is too costly to pay for care for her daughter. Her son is very involved in sports, but has an understanding that his parents cannot attend all of his games because someone has to be home to watch his sister. Wendy has helped others in our family, even when she struggled with the challenges of her own. At one point in her life she was finding out her daughter was autistic, she had a new baby boy, and offered a home to her brother all at the same time. On top of all this, she drove our grandma to appointments, took her to the store, and helped her when needed after our grandpa died. Her morning schedule on the days she works is exhausting. Her daughter typically wakes her up every morning around 5:00 a.m. Her husband is off to work before 7:00 a.m. She gets her daughter ready and takes her to school, as there is no bus service to her school. She then goes back home to get her son ready and takes him to school, and then she finally can go to work. Dan and Wendy will have to provide a home for their daughter for the rest of her life. Their home needs a lot more room for them and provide a private space for the parents.
Her daughter likes to be on the computer, but has to use it on the kitchen table because it cannot be kept in her room. This means that they rarely can eat dinner together at the kitchen table. The kitchen is small and has little room for her to cook, which is something she loves to do. The dishwasher door is broken and has to be rolled up to the kitchen sink to operate. She has tried to decorate their home to be warm and inviting, but has little money to do what is needed. There is only one bathroom for all four people. She is not able to get rid of the mold that is in the tub and shower, and they have to turn the faucet with a wrench. The computer for the parents is stuck in their small bedroom. Wendy has nowhere to go for rest or to take a breath. Wendy’s mother is allergic to poison ivy and had to move to Texas. Wendy loves to have her family visit, but does not have enough room or private space to have them stay with her. The garage has only one stall and stores their dune buggy which has been a family project for several years. They started with an old, Volkswagen. The two cars that they do use run poorly and use a lot of gas. The cars sit outside. At some point they were given a camper, as the family likes to go camping. This also has to be stored outside.
I know she does not change the world or community like some of the other deserving families, but she does mean the world to her family, and is the whole world to her daughter.

  38. Hi! I live in canyon lake California. This is a private gated community. Not one house is the community is the same all custom built homes, there are multi-million dollar homes to the average home. I feel this community would be a very good production for extreme make over as I said it is very unique. Canyon lake has it's own lake, golf course, several beautiful parks alot of activites for the familes to name a few fishing derby, snow days,Easter egg hunt, parades, taco Tuesdays most everyone drives around the community on golf carts professional wake boarders live here it's hard to explain but this community is really one of a kind. I grew up in Huntington beach moved here in 1993 when I got married to be able to afford a house. I have two children my daughter is 12 and my son is 17. I am rasing them alone as I was with my husband sience I was 15 but five years ago I had enough with his drinking problem and he was not a good example for my kids. My dad was killed in a accident coming home from Newport beach after a day of charter boat fishing a 17 year old hit him and he died instantly and then my mom is very religious sold their house and abandon me and her grandchildren and moved to Isreal which is crazy as she is califonia girl . My kids dad has really nothing to do with them. I am a LVN I love being a home health care nurse and taking care of people but it gets hard for me as I broke my back sledding in big bear in 2005 and I am in constant pain everyday but I push myself because I love my patients ! I also have bad asthma was hospitalized three years in a row the last time I was so bad I almost died and came home a week later with an oxygen tank and could barley walk a few steps couldn't breath! I was physically fit like 115 pounds. Anyways my life is my kids they both are so amazing my daughter is cheer captain at her school she is jr miss canyon lake she helps with all kinds of events within the community and she also is On a comp dance team she is a adorable blonde with strait A's tons of friends and has a heart of gold! My son is so active used to race motorcycles but he broke his femer and was life flighted to Lima Linda and has a rod in his leg now which doesn't bother him thank god he snowboards, wakeboards, surfs, skates and he has always been a good kid ! I will not bring another man into their lives as I feel most woman are selffish and only care about themselves after a divorce. My kids are only little once and they are my priority. We can't have anyone over to our house as it has just fallen apart and I have no extra $ to fix it up pay check to paycheck . My daughter cries she just wants a nice house and my son also. It's like we are missing just one piece to the puzzel a house that is decent ! I want so badly to be able to have the kids friends over but we can't it's too embarrasing. I just want a comfortable place for my kids to call home without being embarrased. They are the cute surfer looking kids and the both are so so special to me I just want them sooo
sooo bad to have a decent house. Please consider us !! Thankyou for your time ..

  39. this woman opens her home to homeless children that are at dead ends currently she has 14 of them. She supports them all herself, she was recognised in our newspaper an you will see the video of her home on the news Bettys Angels sight, also she also is our 2011 Community Star for the genuine caring, compassion, strength, sacrifice, an dedication she displayed while providing love an a safe place to call home to many children.Betty does all this in less than a 1000sq ft home.Cooking an Laundry alone are a daily challenge, also she runs her in home daycare out of her home to support all of them. I hope you will help this woman to get more space in her home for all these children. These acts of kindness an altruism should not go unrecognized. You will see in the notes an discussion board letters on the sight also all the ages are posted. Thank You for taking the time to read this. From Warren Ohio!!

  40. Hi, my name is Teri, I married my best friend 5 years ago, we live in his home town of Chatham NJ, in his grandparents home which he purchased a few years prior to us meeting. My husband, Jeff has a daughter, my step-daughter, who is 10yrs. old. 4 1/2years ago we recieved a phone call from DYFS to come pick up his daughter, we have had her since then. We were just newleyweds when we took her in full time, we changed our lifestyle and our home as much we could to accomadate having her live with us. We then had and still have non stop lawyer bills and court appearances. My husband went for full custody of his daughter, he did not want her returning to the horrible conditions she was in, with that, we have gone thru tons of money, borrowed from everyone, and yet we still have a ton of debt over the cutody case, all to ensure her safety. We got pregnant, and now have a three year old son. My husband works 7 days a week from 7am until 8 or 9 pm, and we still can't get ahead or just caught up. My son is missing out on ALOT because my husband is always working, and we simply don't have the money. Our home is extremely old and falling apart, our furnace is the original from when the house was built, very very old, so our heat system is not the best, nor does it work the best, but we have no way to fix this, many things are just falling apart in the home. We could really use your help, my husband is stressed out with trying to get it all done and pay the bills, and he simply can't, we do the best we can, I just want a better home for my kids, where they have the room to have fun and grow. Please help us.

  41. Dear Extreme Home Make Over,
My Dad Lives in a home he and my mother purchased over 30yrs ago. They have 2 daughters. Me & my sister, who was raised in this home. Since then the home basement has been in 4 floods! My father has retired from Briggs & stratton of 30yrs. My mom died of Pancreatic cancer the morning we were to go to his retirement ceremony. Instead we had to wait until they came to our home and pick up his wife, our mothers body. What a way to retire…Right? He was hired on her birthday. They should have been going to the ceremony together…My dad always thought he would leave this earth before our mother, so he had no insurance if she die first the house would be paid off. He had it so if he die first the home would be paid off. His morgage is most of his retirement check. He has eight grand children & 2 great children…The basement has mold be hide the paneling from the many floodings, so he's hardly there. We have holidays at other people homes. We would love to spend holidays time at his/our home & just to hang out there on a norm. Making more memories for the grand & great grand children will be good for them. A few of the children don't even remember how the house looks, because it's been years since we've all been there together. His summer is spent golfing. It's just seems like a part of him went with my mom..Help us bring him back home!……
    "Ain't No Place Like Home"

    Thank You,
    Phyllis

  44. Hello Ty and cast of Extreme Makeover: Home Edition. I am not writing to you for myself but for my sister who is a wonderful single parent of a 19 year old that has battled asthma since birth. My sister and I grew up with my mom and dad in a small townhome and the space became exceptionally small for all four of us. In about 1994, my sister, mom and dad purchased their first home. They resided happily until 2003 when my mom was diagnosed with renal failure. My dad's was already experiencing the beginning stages of dementia as well as rectal CA. With their health slowly deteriorating by 2006 my mom lost her battle and a year later my dad lost his. Caring for both sick parents took a toll on my sister and my niece who continued to live in the house. Always close by I was ever present when needed. But, the house began to show signs of much needed repair and became too too much for my sister to handle inside and out. My sister has devoted her life to raising her daughter, my niece and the fruits of her labor are evident in my niece's beautiful personality and character as well as her grades. I would be so appreciative if you could help my sister in the repairs needed so she could remain in their house. This would be the biggest gift I could give my sister who has such a huge heart and is always there for everyone else. Thank you for your consideration. Peace, Blessings and Much Love.

Thanks Hollie

  47. The reason I think my family should be chosen for the make over is my mom and step dad bought a house since 2010, untill now they cant get to put much in the house to make it a home, at lease we have a house thank God:0

  48. Hello, my name is Stephanie Harper. I have been married for 19 years to Duawn Edward Harper. My husband was the total provider for my family until his kidney's gave out and he had to go on dialysis. The reason I am writting is because he is amazing. He tries to work a job and at night goes and sits on a machine that sucks his blood and fluids from his body in a hospital like facility. He comes home in the morning drained and tired but still get's up to go to work. I tried to get him to just rest because without a kidney the doctor's say he will enventually die and he says, " but my family needs money to survive. All I want my husband to do is to live and we grow old together. He stays depressed because we have alot of medical bills on us so we have never had a house and we were approved to get one years ago and then he got sick and went to the hospital and found out he had kidney failure. All my husband ever wanted to do have a house of his own and I would love to see him with one before he dies or get a new kidney one. I told him I would give him my kidney but the doctor's claim I am over weight. I would love to have the gastric bias surgery where you loose the weight just to help give him the kidney but my insurance has a clause on it that prevents me from receiving financial help. I love my husband because I know his heart is genuine and he is not trying to scam the system and is a hard worker and a great dad and a good husband with a good heart. I would love it if your show could help us my husband deserves the world but he doesn't ask for anything just for God to give him a kidney and so he can grow old with me and see our grand kids in the future if my sons ever have any. Also my husband is helping me to take care of my infant neice who was taken from her mother and I know the late nights are getting to him when he doesn't dialize but all he says is she's a baby and we are all she has. So I know he'd be mad if he knew I wrote in about him but I cannot think of a nicer person who deserves blessings from heaven. Sincerely Stephanie Harper

  49. Hello My name is Precious Jackson I'm writting because I hope and pray that my family can be chosen for new start at life. I am a mother of 3 wonderful children name Alyric she's 3yrs, Passion she is 7yrs, and Stephan who is 9 since stephan was three he has had it rough and I was told he had a hole in his heart. Not too long after I was told he had a disability and it would take some time for him to progress like children his age. He has progress better throughout the years an we are finally able to get him into classes with kids his age. It has been a rough one for my family between me not working and finding jobs here and there doctor bills became too much. As a single parent I struggled to make ends meet day by day but God saw me through it all. I got myself established with a new job and a new home finally for my children and I and disaster struck. In the month of Jan. our home burned to the ground we were so heart broken because we lost everything. I looked at it as a sign of bad luck and I wonder why is this happening lord. We are still in need of a home because after the insurance I had on the trailer paid for expenses we had nothing left being that i still owed on the home and that sucked. Many people around the town of Barnwell South Carolina pulled together to give us clothing and support. We are still living with family members until I save up to try and get another home for my family but I wont lie it's tough. I'm just praying and hoping there is help out there somewhere.

    1. Good Morning!
I don't know you but I read your post. I am so sorry to hear about your home but I'm glad you and your children are ok. I hope you get chosen for the show but if you don't stay strong and keep your head up cause GOD is good all the time and he has a blessing waiting for you. I am a believer that everything happens for a reason so it's not bad luck but it just wasn't right for you to stay there. I am excited for you Because something great is going to happen for you and your family, just give it time.
      I will pray for you.
      With Luv,
      Brandi

  50. I would like to nominate our children's school for an extreme makeover. My family and I live in Biloxi MS which most people know was ravaged by hurricane Katrina. Well over 6 yrs later the school population for our small private school is still struggling. With Around 100 families supporting this school it's been tough to fix everything that needs to be done. There is talk about building in another location but residents of the community feel that the school is part if their community. We just celebrated our 40 th year in 2008. Currently parents are volunteering their time to fix up the outside grounds and the students just finished a penny drive and walk a thon to help raise money for a new stove in the kitchen but class rooms need to be updated as well as a new AC unit in the gym because as of now there is no air, which in April, May, August, and September is just unbearable here on the Gulf Coast.
Not only would current students benefit but all future students and a community could benefit from this makeover. Thank you for your consideration.

  52. Hello Ty and the crew and of course ABC, I'm writing to you not for me and not anyone that I really know, I'm asking for this little old lady that I officially met through my wife, for a while I use to see this little old ( I thought) was homeless , always walking slowly down the streets of Washington D.C., always dragging her shopping cart behind her, cane in the other hand. and always and I mean always wearing the same red coat and sunday bonnet hat. I was picking my wife up from work one day and as I was sitting in my car and I looked over and low and behold there sitting on the steps sat that same old woman in red waiting,so when my came out and ask her "Are you sure that you were gonna be alright"and if she needed a ride to where she needed to go, and she said no that she was okay. I asked my wife who was she , she told me that her name was Mrs. Brown and that she has a home but that she could'nt live in it because its not fit to live in and that her family for some reason does'nt seem to care, I know that she has a son who has problems also trying to find a place of his own wheather or not he'll take her in if he had a place I don't Know, what I do know is that her granddaughter refuses to give her shelter for monies only and does'nt want her around. My wife, myself and the owners of the complex that we live-in have been trying to find help for her but every road led to no where fast with winter fas approaching we took a shop (which is really a room with a nice size window an a/c and heat and a bath room, its located in the laundry rm. in the bldg., my wife and I sees that she is taken cared of with food, juices, an air mattress and ammenidies. Every morning we wake her and she leaves for the day and every time I get off work I pick her up at the The Bread of The City, on Good hope rd. and take her to this little cubby hole of a shop, and this perticular day she asked me to take V st. so I did and she asked me to stop and to get her mail and that sometime the mailman just throws her mail and after seeing her house I understood why the mailman threw the mail this house is truly in need of a make over and seeing the neighborhood if you could even get her away from that that might be great, this is not for anyone except Ms. Brown and maybe even her son. she is in her 90's, THank you and god bless.

  53. Hello my name is Shawnte Richard and I am writing because I have a grandmother by the name of Gladys Richard who has been an inspiration to me and everyobe else she meets!! She spends so much time making sure others are taken care of that she has no extra change for herself. We reside in chicago illinois, she is retired and could use a little help woth her home, she will be the perfect candidate for your show. Since day one of my life she has sacrificed so much for me that this is the least that I can do to show her how much I appreciate everything that she has done for me! She walks on a cane and can.barely get around the house.

  55. I have decided to reach out to Home make-over in desperation. I am a mother to 6 amazing children, 3 boys & 3 girls ranging from 5 to 17, my husband & I have been married for 15 years this past Oct. Our oldest son is leaving to fulfill his dream of being in the Marines this coming June. I have a son whom is 7 years old & has had pretty close to a 100 broken bones, along w/8 major surgeries. He has spent a good portion of his life in & out of the hospital, including a Christmas & a 4th of July. Though he has broken nearly every bone at one time or another he is in 1st grade full time. He is in a wheelchair but working hard at 1 day being able to walk. The past 2 years I have been suffering from chronic back pain due to years of lifting him incorrectly & though I know my pain isn't even close to what he has felt I find it hard to cope on some days, but the love of my family encourages me to keep moving forward. My son daily tells me "Mommy I pray your back is better soon" Which also gives me that extra push……My little guy has endured so much yet worries about mommy each day. (Something no child should ever have to go through) He saw the wonderful and amazing home your team/family created for Jake w/the same condition & said "Mom I would love to have a house like that so I can do things for my self & your back can get better." All my children are amazing and they love me so much, It hurts me that they worry about my health daily. We are a family of 8 living in a 3 bedroom home. Father's day of 2009 My one & only sibling got real sick & went into acoma and has yet to wake from it. My mother would do anything to have him home with her but due to financial burdens and some health issues she is unable to do this for him. My 13 year old daughter has always been extremely close to him and has kinda shut down her emotions in order to cope. This is a desperate plea for some relief in this storm of life. We are keeping hope & faith & hanging on day to day. It is my prayer to see my son gain some independence so he can gain even more confidence in his abilities. Also my prayer for my children to have a home with organization and their own space. Due to my health issues it is near impossible for me to do just daily things such as laundry & house work. Please consider us for your next home make-over edition. Best Wishes & prayers

  56. Hello I'm a 29yr old wife and mother and i think i should be selected. my home was built in 1950 and my family has owned it all this time.My home was giving to me when my father past away than a year later my mother past away then three years after that my four month old son past away in our home from S.I.D.S and my kids seen the entire situation it has been very difficult for me and my family and i think my kids deserve to live nice in a remodeled home. Its really been hard trying to fix our home up having so much to deal with but, I'm happy that through it all me and my husband can still be good parents. I have lived here my whole life and its in the same condition since i was born, and as for any parent i just want my kids to be happy. My kids are honor roll students and i want them to live better than i have. Our home has no central air, no home installation so when it gets cold its really cold inside, when its hot its hotter inside the home we really need this home make over. I pray to god that you hear our cry and help us and our kids. Thank you for reading my story and we hope to hear from u soon.

  63. hi:)…..my name is lareech perry and i am fifteen years old.I live in south africa, johannesburg,i attend edenpark senior secondary school,in edenpark.i am the middle born child nd i have an older sister who is currently studying at the university of wits,on a busery.i have a two year old brother and to be honest he is my inspiration-my parents are unemployed and yes, life is tough but i have learned to accept what i dont have and work harder to achieve what i want in my life. But,i believe our house is in extreme need of repairing.we are currently five people livin in our house-nd it feel s like we are breathing under each others skin-the house has three bedrooms,ONE bathroom nd an open plan kitchen nd lounge.our geyser is broken so now we are forced to put water on the stove to get ready for school.the kettle dont work either,so more pressure is put on the stove for tea-which my mom is a big fan of.i love to cook and our kitchen can only fit two people at a time-or we`d be stuck in there if we all were to be there at once.i am praying for a miracle and i would be eternally greatful if you could help me and my family out.you are truely sent from god and you are doing wonderful tings for people.may god bless you and the family you choose.

  64. Hi i'm Sam. My moms house is falling apart. We're trying to re-do everything ourselves.. but it's not that easy. We have to much too do, and we never have the time. It would be amazing to have you guys help with our house, because my mom really deserves it.

  65. I would love for this show to come visit my father's home and help him. My dad works hard all the time and since my mom left us he has had no money to take care of his home and now his house looks life its falling apart and he is in need of help bad !

  66. My name is Steven and I'm writing you because I feel like our family should be picked. My mom has been in nursing for about 40 years. She loves to help people and has been giving her services and been helping people almost her whole life. Growing up was hard for us as kids due to the fact that my dad wasn't around much and my mom was a single mother raising 4 children. She has worked so hard and helped so many people but can't seem to catch a break. We live in a condo and have been in countless apartments. We have never had the luxury of owning our own house. I just think that someone who is so caring and loving and gives and gives and gives deserves and is time for someone to give back. She deserves this more than anybody. She has fiber mialgea and volunteers at a doctors office helping a doctor that she knows. All the challenges she has due to her disease, she always seems to over come and put a smile on her face everyday just knowing she is helping someone. Me and my twin brother live with her and help her as much as we can, but I feel like it's time to really give her what she so badly deserves. Our older brother is in the army and is currently serving our country. He has done a tour in Iraq and with his deployment, brought our family to their knees praying he would be ok. She was in the navy and served our country as well. She has always tried her best to provide for us, and no matter how hard things were or how bad things got, she would still wear a smile on her face and love us the same. Growing up we didn't have too many Christmases or birthdays. We just couldn't afford it. But the love she gave us and us knowing how hard she worked to put food on the table was better than any gift or present we could've received. Everyone loves her and knows how wonderful of a person she is. Even with my brother and I's problems we went through she stood by our sides and was just being our mom. I love my mom more than life itself! Words can't explain it. If I had a way to go back to school And make enough money to support her and take care of her so she didn't have to do anything I would. She has been talking about going back to school as well. She is very dedicated and wants to still provide us with the best life possible. Now my mom is 57 years old and with her disease and working 40 hours a week or more her whole life and trying to take care of her family and also all the people she has cared for over the years is inspirational to anyone. I don't know how she does it or has done it. All the times I wanted to just give up she was there to lift me back up. I'm telling you she puts everyone before herself and I think it is time to give her a break and I would love to show her how much I love her and appreciate what she does in her life. She recently lost her job that she has had for over 19 years. But still insist in volunteering on a regular basis. Even if it's the weekend. She just needs a place to call her own and live her life the way she deserves. I know most people own a house on the show but it just has never been feesable for her because she was raising all of us kids by herself. In conclusion I would just like to thank you from the bottom of my heart for reading this and would beg if I have to, to get you guys to make a miracle happen here. It's time for her to relax and enjoy life. And if I can have any part of making a dream that she has always wanted come true than I would be in debt forever. I sold my truck a few years ago to make sure we could afford the apartment we lived in and I try to help her and give back as much as I can. But a family should always have a place to call their own and I think it's time for her and us to call our own. Please please choose us. You guys make miracles happen all the time, I think it's time to make her dream a reality. We just have to do this for her. Again thank you and I hope to hear from you.
