My name is Quanser J I was originally born in trinidad i am also a 2012 high school graduate. Growing up in the foster system i grew to writting ad a way to express my hidden feelings of frustration. I was tooken away from my mother at the age of ten. I grew up taking care of my little brothers and sisters. My sister was seven and my baby brother was a little over 3 months. I was only ten yet i had to perform the task of any other mother. Stay up late at night just to make sure no one was harming my little sister in anyway she did not want to be touch. Cleaning, feeding, and watching after a 3 month old was extremly hard for me as well as going to school. I was never the pretiest or the most popular girl in school. I never had most of the name brands. Because no one really cared enough to buy them for us. Most of the times i was in hand me downs dirty sneakers and old back packs. You ko nw the kind that tear whenever you put your books in them? Despite this fact i was an A/B honor roll student. Up untill high school when things got really hectict for me. I moved in with my aunt still under the guardionship of the state. We really didnt get along much. Freshmen year was especially hard for me especially when your spirit has been broken down by years and years of bully and heartbreak that no child should ever have to go through. But now i was being touched . In ways ive never could've imagnied. I thought to myself things like this only happened in sad dramas. Have'nt i had enough torture already? So i decided to keep my mouth quite. I didnt want anyone knowing eventually word got out and i was surrounding by detective interviews. My case was never followed up so it was dropped. Some may think of this as sad but i was so relieved i didnt want to go to court to testify to do anything . I just wanted to be a normal teenager . But when your a foster kid. you can never be a regular teenager i learned that the hard way. with all the counseling and court dates. who has time to hang with kids there own age. Especially when you had a controlling aunt who you cant quite figure out if she actually cares for you or not. One who hasnt quite grown up herself. And probably makes you feel even worst about yourself than you already have. Falling into depression and suicidal thoughts . I have over come all that. Rape , Abuse, Verbal an physical to tell my story. to be a role model. To hush everything anyone ever said about me. To prove i am beautiful and i am a Kind hearted girls. With an enormous heart and an even bigger dream. I am Quanser J and i want to prove to the world that any and every one is beautiful. I just need the simple chance.
