With so much talk about the possibility of colonizing Mars and the success of last year’s film “The Martian”, it’s no surprise that we may have a series about it. The Martian that starred Matt Damon, Jessica Chastain and Kirsten Wigg was nominated for 7 awards and raked in more than 228 million dollars. The CW has ordered a new pilot called “The Mars Project”. Deadline reports that the thriller series will follow an explorer team that arrives on Mars to join the first human colony on the planet only to discover their predecessors have vanished.

Led by a woman whose husband is among the missing, the colonists are forced to change their mission from exploration and settlement to investigation and survival, while navigating the hostile planet and their own personal demons. The show was written by Doris Egan.

Casting directors are looking for a stand-in for an upcoming shoot that will take place tomorrow, Wednesday, March 30th. Stand-in’s are actors who step in for the lead actors while lighting and cameras are set up. It’s a great way to work one on one with the director and/or the project’s cinematographer.
