Want your shot at a speaking role in a hit TV series? The Netflix show “The Get Down” is now holding auditions for kids, young adults and rappers. The Get Down is set in the 1970s New York City that is broken down, beaten up, violent, cash strapped, dying. Told through the lives and music of a ragtag crew of South Bronx teens – from Bronx tenements, to the SoHo art scene, CBGBs, Studio 54, and even the glass towers of the just-built World Trade Center. The Get Down is a sweeping saga of loyalty, love and betrayal, and the transformation of New York City.
Casting directors are are on a nationwide search looking for actors to fill speaking roles in the show. They are looking for African American or Hispanic/ Latino males who are 18 to 21 years old. Females who are African American or Hispanic / Latino and ages 18 to 21 years old are also needed for the show. For the role of a young boy, producers are looking for an African American boy who is between the ages of 11 and 14 years old. They are seeking a child who is irresistible, wisecracking, street smart and who is always tagging along with his older brother. Rappers and hip-hop dancers, male or female of all ages and types are also being cast for The Get Down.
