Legally Blonde & Annie Theatre ActorsHave you always wanted to perform in front of a live audience? There is a fun new theatre production that is now casting actors!  Downtown Cabaret Theatre in Bridgeport, CT is holding open season general auditions for their upcoming 2018/19 season on June 11 & 12, 2018 from 6:30-9pm. These season generals are a great way to be considered for all of the season’s productions in one audition.  The acting casting call is looking for teen and adult actors.  These auditions are being held for several popular productions.  Actors will audition for Legally Blonde, Annie Sister Act and The Full Monty!

Main Stage Theatre:
Seeking actors and singers of all ages, types, ethnicities, etc. for the following productions

LEGALLY BLONDE: Sep 21-Oct 14, first rehearsal Aug 12
ANNIE: Nov 30-Dec 30, first rehearsal Oct 14
1984: Feb 1-17, first rehearsal Jan 2
SISTER ACT: Mar 15-Apr 7, first rehearsal Feb 4
THE FULL MONTY: Apr 26-May 19, first rehearsal Mar 18

2018 Theatre Acting Casting Call

Cabaret Theatre for Young Audiences:
Seeking triple-threat adult (16+) performers capable of broad-style, farce, vaudeville comedy and physical slapstick plus way out Monty Python types for the following original professional productions:

LITTLE WITCHES: Oct 6-Oct 28, first rehearsal Sep 10
THE CHRISTMAS ELF 2: Nov 10-Dec 23, first rehearsal Oct 15
RUMPELSTILTSKIN: Jan 12-Feb 10, first rehearsal Dec 10
THE PRINCESS AND THE FROG: Feb 23-March 31, first rehearsal Jan 28
SNOW WHITE: April 13-May 19, first rehearsal March 18

All roles for actors over the age of 18 are paid on a per-performance basis for the professional Children’s Company.

When/Where: June 11 & 12 from 6:30-9pm at 263 Golden Hill St. in Bridgeport.

What to Prepare:
For the Main Stage musicals/Cabaret Children’s Theatre season: Prepare a selection/short song (1 min or less) from a musical in the style of the show or a pop song. Singing from the show is ok. A cappella singing is highly discouraged – please bring sheet music. An accompanist will be provided. If you would like to be considered for multiple shows you may prepare two contrasting songs (you may only be asked for one).

For the play (1984): Prepare prepare one short (non-classical) monologue that best shows you/your acting range–keep in mind that these generals are a way for us to get to know you as an actor.

Actors will be seen in order of arrival, with the exception of the actors who have secured appointments.
