The BET Network is in the midst of it’s most exciting growth ever with several new original programs in the works and their newest production may be it’s biggest hit yet. The sitcom Young Man On Campus is coming to televisions everywhere with a hilarious premise and a ton of casting opportunities for funny up and coming performers of all ages.
Young Man On Campus stars Jacob Latimore, a bright young star featured alongside Hayden Christensen and Thandie Newton in the 2010 feature film Vanishing On 7th Street as 15 year old scholastic superstar Jacob Matthews who becomes the youngest student enrolled at Mt. Pleasant University. The show will find Jacob in many awkward and laugh out loud situations while he tries to navigate college life at such a young age with the help of his mother, his favorite professor who also discovered his genius and his basketball star cousin who he rooms with. This show is set to provide an entertaining mix of laughs and emotion for viewers of all ages.
Y. M. O. C. is a spin off from the BET hit Read Between The Lines starring Malcolm Jamal Warner (The Cosby Show) and Tracee Ellis Ross (Girlfriends) and is created by Jacque Edmonds Cofer, the man behind yet another successful BET sitcom Let’s Stay Together. The pieces are in place for a fantastically successful comedy show for the whole family, the only thing missing is you. Young Man on Campus is so subtly uplifting and I love it. I am a recent graduate from Howard University who looks to support all people, especially my african american race. I loved the show Reed Between the Lines and marvel at the black sitcoms that are being created now because they are positive and just what we needed.
