Now entering its eighth season, “The Vampire Diaries” wants you to work on the show! Casting directors have released a new casting call for show. They are seeking men and women who are local to the Atlanta, Georgia area. The series has been on since 2009 and is showing no signs of slowing down in popularity. The Vampire Diaries takes place in the quaint town of Mystic Falls, Virginia which was once a hotbed of supernatural activity and becomes so again with the return after 145 years of vampire brothers Damon and Stefan Salvatore. The brother’s presence reignites past battles with a host of mythical creatures and the brothers themselves fight for the affection of local beauty Elena Gilbert. The series stars Nina Dobrev, Paul Wesley and Ian Somerhalder.

Producers are now casting background actors to play a sheriff, EMTs and Coroner types. They are looking for males and females of any ethnicity who are between the ages of 25 and 50. Actors who are booked to play the first responders will be filming on Wednesday, August 17th. Since the show is filming in Lithonia, Georgia, anyone who applies must be local. The call time has not yet been set so anyone who applies must be fully available. Filming will be a minimum of eight hours and all extras must be available to be on set for a minimum of eight hours regardless of what time filming begins.
