“The Little Mermaid” Film Looking for Extras

The Little Mermaid Film Looking for ExtrasThe upcoming feature film version of “The Little Mermaid” is now casting males and females of all ages and types! This film version will follow original Hans Christian Andersen story, not the Disney version. The Disney version of the novel tells the story of Ariel the beautiful and very curious mermaid who longs to be human so she can be with the prince she fell in love with after saving him and bargains with the evil Ursula who takes advantage of the princess’s love so she can get all of the power. In exchange for Ariel’s voice, the young mermaid trades in her fins for legs so she can go onto land to see the prince and experience the wonders of the human world.

She has to kiss the prince before her time is up to break the spell, get her voice back and become human forever if not, she will revert back to a mermaid and belong to the evil sea witch. The novel was first published in 1837 and is slightly different it is about a young mermaid willing to give up her life in the sea and her identity as a mermaid to gain a human soul. This is an exciting project as it is a live action film! Deadline reports that Sofia Coppola is in negotiations to direct the film. The shoot will be taking place in Savannah, Georgia. Casting directors are looking for people to be extras in the film that will shoot in April and May.

  1. Is there a Little Mermaid movie being planned? If so I would love to audition. I look a lot like Arial and I was in live with that movie growing up. It would be a dream come true.

  2. Hi I'm Gabriella!
I'm a singer/songwriter, actress, and  dancer who just loves being apart of any stage. Probably because I've been up on it my whole life, at the age of 3 I started taking dancing and singing lessons, and at the age of 4 I started acting, and I've been modeling for 2 years now. Over the years I've been in 6 singing competitions and made it to the semifinals every time, Ive released an original holiday song of mine called "Holly" on iTunes and I have gotten many gigs. For 5 years I've been a part of a dance team that travels around California competing for Nationals and my teacher, Monie Adamson has won a primetime Emmy award, was on MADtv and was an actress in the hit movie "La La Land.” Ive been in many plays and musicals to name a few.. Seussacal, Once on this Island, Guys and Dolls and The little mermaid. I have been in several movies as an extra but I hope to soon have the honor of a bigger role. I would love to be a part of "The Little Mermaid" because the infamous song "Part of your World" has always been a go to song of mine and in summer on broadway I played "Sebastian" in "The Little Mermaid" that was my favorite role I've ever had so I hope I could be apart of this story for the second time. Not only that but Ariel was my favorite princess. If I became a part of this production it would take me far back to old times. My sister and I would always watch the movie together every chance we got. We would play around the house pretending we were in the movie…It feels like it was only yesterday. But also because it would be an honor to bring ariels story to life and be part of a production that will share such a touching story with families everywhere.
