From the creators of the immensely popular sitcom The Game comes the next super sized hit for The BET, Single Black Female. Producers and casting directors are working to put the first season of this production in motion and that means that auditions for this exciting new project will be starting shortly.
Single Black Female is an hour long drama written by Mara Brock Akil, directed by Salim Akiland starring the luminous talent Gabrielle Union (Bad Boys 2, Bring it On). This sure to be hit will follow the life, times and work of an Atlanta based black female host of an Oprah or Ellen talk show. This is a premise that should prove to be a fertile ground for another high quality production for one of televisions finest networks. A husband and wife duo, the Akils have not only The Game on their impressive resume but a host of high profile projects such as a remake of the hit film Sparkle starring Whitney Houston in her final movie role and Cougar Town starring Courtney Cox.
The BET is the home of a number of high quality shows and Single Black Female may be just the project to take it to the next award winning level.
