  1. My name is Estera Diamanta Hughes. The much needed renovation as for my children especially my son born with respiratory problems my life since he has been born has revolved around doctors appointments testing medications and hospital visits a life cycle over from my childhood with my brother having 14 reconstructive operations that nearly killed him several times having suffered the lack thereof in my childhood because of medical costs and being a family of 7 I hope my children and family do not repeat that same fate. I was the first in my family of a first generation immigrant to purchase my first home not under the greatest circumstances because I left my job and my husband left his to pursue a career in a Ministry to help children and work and youth camping. We have to purchase something very affordable and something we needed quickly to adjust leaving the city and moving to a remote Mountain town my son's health problems progressively got worse and being unable to invest and reconstruct into the home because of his medical needs and costs and demands. Our house is slowly falling apart in much need of renovation with lack of funds and concern if my husband and I are able to provide a home that is safe and enjoyable for my family. We have three children one adopted and two little ones. The state of our home Grieves my heart because I truly feel I cannot enjoying my home with my family and grandchildren even though my husband and I are young we have achieved status many don't get to to be parents grandparents and even have been able to purchase a home but the circumstances have been tough when we are in dire need of help as our yard is not safe for children to play on an open street with no fence. Our house has broken windows exterior stairs into the home that are broken and falling apart and dangerous to even walk into cracks in ceilings hand-me-down appliances in An Inconvenient shower with two little children with my son's respiratory problems he is unable to play in the front yard with all the Dust dirt and difficult Landscaping that may trigger an asthma attack it pains me to have made so many sacrifices and not necessarily provide the best option for our first home for my family if you could please bless our family and help renovate our house into a home and create a sanctuary and place of rest for ua that would be a dream come true. As a full time mom of a sick child and full time working mom and then my husband working sometimes 7 days a week the discouragement of our circumstances overwhelms us. Whoever you chose I wish and pray them well. I hope you bless us if not thank you for reading our request.

  2. I was hoping for a home makeover for my mother. She takes care of 10 kids at any given time and deserves a new home. It's a very livable house but is small for that many people staying here all the time. Both my mom and dad have retired and can't really afford the fixing up that is required for the house. We live in a very small town in Alabama and I do believe my parents deserve a better house than what they have. They give back to the community and can't give themselves something nice. They've started on fixing things that needs fixed but come to a stop because of a fixed income. If you can, please help them. Thanks in adavnce.

  3. Hey my name is Alecyia I am 19 and my husband is almost 22 we currently moved in with my great grandfather who was in service for about 40 years he served army and navey for our country recently On April 1st she was 80 years old and my papa which is my grea grandfather is 84 well in his younger days he was so busy helping our family build there houses and take care of everyone that he never finished his house his house was originally a traitor he made it into a house but never finished and the was probly 17 years ago currently me and my new husband moved in to take care of him and his house has black mold and tons of water damage it'd falling apart from inside out and is in drastically need of help my great grandfather we believe has daminsia he crus a lot and just talks about my grandmothers death she died unexpected overnight in her bed and he was sleeping next to her and didn't even now she had passed he called Me and I pronounced that she was gone I started calling family ambulance all the above and he has been a wreck since I wish there was some way someone could help all of us we are living in this house and it's not very safe it's got a lot of black mold I'm surprised were not all sick. The house is going on my name eventually because they raised me as a baby and it is very sentimental to me I don't want to just tear it down and get a new house I love the house because I grew up here not only that but I have helped raise my nephews here and they are small kids in this situation hopefully my story can touch someone slid heart to help in not sure how else to go about this the roof is falling off there Dalit of problems and some may not have even mentioned cuz there is a lot but I would like to see Justus done to this house not only for my husband and I but for my great grandfather who deserves it he is an amazing man he would help any of us kids or grandkids in need before working on his house r before buying food for himself he has served us and this country and I would just really like someone to honor him for everything that he has done thanks!

  7. A home is supposed to be your sanctuary or resting place. It is to suppose to shelter one from the elements and provide safety as well as comfort. However, our home has become a danger zone which is negatively impacting our physical, mental, and spiritual health. I am a 50 year old divorced individual currently unemployed residing with my 56 year old mentally disabled older sister as her caregiver in our family home. We have never lived anywhere else. Major repairs are needed to save our home. Daily living consists of cooking on a hot plate, ceiling/roof leaks during rain, unsafe/unstable flooring, faulty/old wiring, mold infested bathroom/kitchen, faulty plumbing, amongst a long list of other issues. It becomes a daily struggle but I keep it moving. My sister asks me everyday when am I going to build a house. I would love to see her smile wide with joy to be in her new home. We have exhausted several government agencies but to no avail thus applications were denied. The city can possibly condemn our property which will leave us homeless. We need an extreme home makeover. My sister loves our home and neighborhood. I envision starting my home based business assisting person to locate help for needed home repair thus a new home makeover will give me a new start. There are probably more compelling stories than ours. However, just this once could someone not overlook or deny us the opportunity for our home to be fixed by Extreme Makeover: Home Edition.

We stay in a 3 room shack because my sister is the only 1 who is working and earns R2100 per month, so we can't afford to build or buy a house. 14. Extreme makeover home edition,
Hello from Florida. We live in small town of altha in Florida. My name is mary. I'm married to wonderful hard working guy. Been together for 11 years. We have had 4 wonderful children. 3 of which is still living. Let me start by you getting to know us a little more. We became parents very young. I'm 25 and my husband is 28 in 2008 we had our first child. Our son aubrie who is now 8. He is autistic and has adhd. We had our first daughter in 2011. Bobbie named after my father who passed away 3 months before her birth. Tragedy stuck when she was 7 weeks old to find she had passed away from sudden infant death syndrome. In 2012 we had another little girl carly. She was born premature. Only 2 pounds and some change. 2 weeks later while in nicu she had to be light flighted her intestines were dead had to do emergency surgery. After over 17 major surgery's and various medical devices and a almost year in nicu . She struggles with short bowel syndrome. She's now 4. Our youngest child is about to be 3 her name Juanita. Now to tell you Our housing situation. When my husbandson father passed away of cancer. He inherited his home and land we dropped our life's and moved to be close and comfort his grandparents.(grandfather which funeral we just had and canceled sons birthday June 11th) The trailer though needs lots of work we did what we could to repair it so it would be liveable. But still need lots of work, we live pay check to paycheck and don't have extra money to repair it. We have leaking roof, holes in the floors, cabinets so old there falling apart. We got excite when we found a home loan program that we could actually afford. But later to be disappointed when our credit wasn't good enough. I wish that something would happen good for our family. We need a new home it would be a dream come true. I hope that you do consider our family and we get picked. Our family motto that helps us threw the struggles is WE MAY NOT HAVE IT ALL TOGETHER BUT TOGETHER WE HAVE IT ALL. Thanks for the opportunity to share our story and want to say what you do for family's is amazing. Thanks god bless you and yours
    Sincerely Mary

  16. Good Morning Everyone. My name is Jermaine Martin I'm a 21 year old college and I'm writing to you about my grandparents home. My Great grandparent's passed some years ago and left my grandma the building. My grandmother is trying to hold up the property but it's getting hard on her. The rats & roaches are talking over the building. And this past winter back in 2015 the pipe busted and made big wholes everywhere and water damage all over the place. It's a 2 flat apartment building and it is paid off. My grandparents just pay the taxes for the building. We all try to help here and there when we get the chance. Right now my grandparents are staying with my aunt and her kids and grandkids in a 4 bedroom apartment which is to small. We are a loving family that just want a new and improved home for our grandparents. Some more problems are we needs major renovations, new plumbing, electric etc. That's a family home. My grandma had her kids living there and my dad and 2 aunts had me and my cousins grow up there I hope the Lord really bless our family and make this happen for us. Cause we really need the improvement.

  17. Hello, my name is Joel Powell Jr. 13 years ago, I married my current wife, and we just celebrated it this past June 7th. I was married prior for 6 years and after that divorce, I lived off of my credit cards while I was working but just couldn't make ends meet. I was forced to file bankruptcy. During that process, I met my current wife and she stayed and encouraged me even though I had very little. We recently purchased a home after being together after 13 years. Even though I'm proud of my home (the home was built in 1953), I couldn't afford a newer model with up to date fixtures. .I want to surprise her to show her how much I love, care appreciate her for sticking it out with little ol me…Thank you all for all that you do and the lives that you change while you do what you love.

  18. Hello, our names are Dylan and Taylor O'Donoghue and we are the nephew and niece of Karen Van Nest whom is my Mom's sister. Karen is one of the most out-going, personable, and kind hearted people I know. She is selfless and is always looking out for others before herself. Karen has two children names Jack,12 and Katie,10 which we have grown up with and are very close with. Our families have always done things with one another and are very close in many ways. Last month, Karen lost her husband and her two children lost their father to what appears to be a sudden heart attack, he was 49. He was healthy and had no prior conditions or medical signs that warned of such an event. On Sunday, May 15, John sat down under a tree outside to watch a basketball finals game and passed away. John did not have life insurance and was the primary provider for the family. Like many families in the United States, the Van Nests' were severely affected when the economy downturned several years earlier and were never able to recover. Both John and Karen spent their whole lives investing in other people and building relationships with family and friends. Our aunt and uncle have always opened their home and their hearts on countless occasions to anyone in need of a place to stay or just going through a rough time. Karen found out that in order to keep the house that her kids grew up in, she must rent part of it out. In the process of preparing part of her home for a tenant, it was discovered that her homes' plumbing needs replaced, the bathrooms and kitchen need remodeled due to wood rot and mold and the beams supporting her floors need replaced because of termites. Karen works as a middle school teacher, but her salary is not sufficient enough to cover the costs of the repairs her home needs. This family has ALWAYS put others first and now it is time that someone puts them first.

  19. Hello everyone, Im asking for your help for my single income family of 6. My husband is just starting out on a job and im a stay at home mom studying for my GED. Our house is falling apart around us and we have been struggling to keep it up but by the time my husband gets paid we dont have anything left to fix the house. We have to have to stuggle so much in the summer to keep the kids cooled off and in the winter to keep them warm. I know this is short but its to the point. I hope that you and your wonderful crew are able to help us.
    Thanks and god bless.

  20. I live in a three bedroom hom . It me (Taylor) my mom, dad, sister, and brothe . My mom has health issues and isn't unable to do things at time. She has brittle bone disease and she is always in pain along with numerous of other problems. It's hard for us make things work with only three bedrooms. I'm 18 years old and just graduated. My sister is 12 and my brother is 7 and we have a 2 story house. Its hard for my mom to walk up and down the stairs with her breathing.
My sister jolynn has had gallstones and pancreatitis 2 times and has been hoptalized for it. She was only suppose to be in the hospital for one day then it turned into 9 days due to complications.

My mom and dad has been under a lot of stress wording about how things are going to get done around the house with her having health issues and my dad works to make ends meet but at times his work slows down and dont make enough money for all the necessitie .

My mom had her right hand cut off in a saw mill accident when I was just a couple months old. From then on her health has went down hill. She now has copd, brittle bone disease, asthma, anxiety, degenerated disc disease, migraines, and she is being testes for cancer.

  21. My name is Dominique Endicott. I have no idea where to start. Well, I guess I will start with the problems of my house. My house was built in the 1940s. It's falling apart right in our faces. Everything is destroyed. The plumbing is messed up, the electricity is messed up, we have to run extension cords all around the house, mold is growing in our house, and much more. It's hard for us get things fixed because we don't have the money, time, and my dad's health issues. My dad has a lot of health problems but he still works to keep food on the table and try to keep the bills paid. Then we are struggling because I'm engaged and we can't pay for anything until we get the house fixed. But that more likely will never happen. 9 times out of 10, we won't get a chance with you guys. But if you decide to help us, we will be the most grateful family in the world. Please help my family.

  23. Hello!! Like most of the people on here I too don't know where to begin. Right now myself and my family live in a double-wide that well to say the least is a nightmare. When we looked at the home we were in dire straights, we were basically homeless and were desperate. We were told that there was a new roof put on and well to our surprise there wasn't a new roof just the 4th layer of shingles put over top, so the roof leaks terrible and is bowed in the center and looks like it is going to come crashing down upon us at any moment. The previous owners ripped two decks off the home and along with the decks came half of the house so you literally can see outside where the front and back decks were. We had a water line break in our kitchen so now we have no floor or kitchen cabinets in our kitchen. Both bathrooms the floors are falling through. There is black mold growing in our dining room where the water leak from the bathroom and kitchen came up on the walls. I could go on forever with this home and I call it a home because well even though it is really rough shape it allows a leaky roof over our head and keeps us from living on the streets. I would be so grateful for the opportunity to have a home makeover as would a million others. Thank you for taking the time to read this and here's to hoping and praying that me and my family will be one of the lucky ones to have this makeover. As I was reading all of these stories you certainly have your work cut out for you to choose from and if we are not picked well after reading these stories I certainly wouldn't be upset because there are so many other needy families out there. Good luck to you all!!!!!

  24. I'm not sure how to apply but I have a dear friend in serious need of a new home the house she owns is falling apart roofs leaking in caving in and mold all in her house 108 degree weather and didn't have an a.c I feel so bad for her and want to find a way for her to get some help she's tried asking for roofers and state people but because of the mold they won't help her. Please help. Thank you.

  26. Hi my name is Brittany Campbell this is my cousin's story. My cousin just turned 19 she has cerebral palsy she lives with my Aunt and Uncle and her oldest sister. Their house is not handicap accessible so they have many struggles including bathing my cousin and getting her on the school bus. Her wheelchair doesn't make it out the door because of it's width so the door jam is ruined from going in and out. My family has to struggle to get her down the dirt driveway to the bus there are huge holes. They could use your help extreme makeover this would be a miracle for them. My cousins old school she went to just let her participate in their graduation because this is the year she could have graduated it was such a joy to see and when her aid wheeled her back to her spot after getting her diploma everyone in the whole gym started yelling and clapping for her she thought it was the coolest thing! And so many people cried:) please consider them! Thank you!

  27. Hello, my name is Maisie. I am the youngest of my family. My parents got married in May of 1988. They had moved to different places and then found a place that they would call home. This is the same place I call home. My dad worked or my grandparents as a farm manager. My grandparents decided that they were going to sell the farm, but kept the house where we are living. When they did that, the city decided that they were going to widen, lower, and add a sidewalk in front of the house. When they did that, they capped the tiling system that we had, which took the water way from our house in the low spot. After that happened, our house started to flood. Ever since I can remember it has flooded. Many times my parents would send my sister Taylor, and brother Brandon over to our aunts house, while my parents cleaned the house. About 5 years ago, we thought we fixed the problem and remolded the basement. We added a bedroom for my sister and I, an office, family room, and had 2 other rooms down there for storage. I remember the morning our worst nightmare came into reality. Taylor was in the living room and I was in the bedroom. We both woke up, and felt the cold water on our feet. After that happened we moved upstairs again. We just remodeled the downstairs and it flooded again, causing it to mold and ruin everything. School was just starting and I couldn't sleep out in the living room with everyone still up and talking. My sister and I then kicked our dad out of his spot in the room and put him on the couch. We then shared a bedroom with our mom, but also shared a bed with her. I was 16 and was sharing a bed with my mom…. I know that my parents are and have done their best to fix the problem., but because of this house, it has put may struggles and challenges onto my family. This past week, there was a big storm and it flooded our basement. Along with water flooding the basement, the sewer backed up. We are in the process of cleaning up, and they are forecasting there will be sever storms tonight that may cause more water to come in. It is very hard to see the pain and frustration that my parents have been going through or over 10 years now. Our garage isn't any better. There is holes in the roof, shingles that are missing, and water that comes into the garage. Because of the water, it has taken any power we have for lights, and outlets away. We don't have any lights that work in the garage, and cant plug anything in because the water is in there. Even though we have gone through many struggles, we still have our pride and joy, our animals. We have dogs, cats, chickens, horses, and cows. The money that we do have goes to paying for the care of the animals, and the rest goes to making sure we have the necessities that we need. My dad is working 2 jobs to try to make ends meet. My mom is also working a full-time job. With everything that we do, we are juggling 1 car with 3 people. My brother has a car, but is also busy. We all have jobs and other activities that we are involved in and have to make sure we all get to the places where we need to be, which is very hard. My sister is now living in Iowa and going to college. My brother and I are still living at home, but will be attending college this fall. My dad has taught football and baseball to many teams in Montrose. My sister and I have been royalty for our town and the dairy industry and represent them all over the state. The thing with my family is that we love helping others even if we really need to help ourselves. We give food, and sometimes money to people in Montrose when they are in need. As I said before, it is hard to see the pain that my family is and have been going through. I would like to thank you all for considering us, but would like you to picture yourselves here, in our citation. What would you do and how would you feel? You wouldn't want to have to live here any more than we want to. We cant do this ourselves because we don't have the money, to make it better. We are already doing everything that we can, and would be more than grateful to have someone help us.
    Thank you again,
    -The Walter Family

  28. My name is Jessica. I am leaving this comment today to ask for help for my parents. My parents have done foster care for 13 years and have adopted 3 children who needed a forever home. Now that forever home is falling apart. My father works himself in the ground and still does not have the time or money to fix the problems that the house has. The floors are weak and they have water issues along with other problems. If they do not get help soon, they will lose their home. My parents have lived in that house for 22 years. It's the only home we know. My parents have always taken care of someone else and now I would like to ask for help for them. I appreciate the opportunity to get my family the help they deserve. Thank you.

  32. I am requesting a home make-over for a family in Hampton, Arkansas, that I wrote a newspaper story about. Barbara and Barry Gorman, a couple in their 50s, adopted their five grand-children, who currently range from 3 to 9 years old, including 5-year-old twins. Both parents work full-time. Here are some excerpts from the article, published in the South Arkansas Sun newspaper:
“It was either us get them, or they would stay in foster care,” Barbara explained.
That process to adopt meant numerous trips and a multitude of phone calls to Texas. They had to go through FBI background checks, plus provide addresses for every residence they had ever lived in.
The number of bedrooms and bathrooms, and even the size of the home, were considered. (The 7 live in a mobile home that barely meets the space requirements for foster care homes!) It was a close call on space, but the Gormans managed. In addition was the child-proofing of the house. Barbara said all trash cans had to have lids, even tiny wastebaskets. The empty-nesters had to once again make sure that all knives were up high and out of reach. “It was trying,” Barbara recalled, but she was anxious to get the kids to their new home.
It’s a tight schedule some days with work, bonding time, baths, laundry, and all the other chores of parenting five children, but the Gorman children are now thriving. The younger two, Kevyn, 4, and Alyssa, 3, still attend First Step, but the now five-year-old twins Ayden and Andru like to tell people they “got fired” from First Steps in March. And nine-year-old R.J. recently got a report card with all A’s, B’s, and just one C.
It’s amazing what love can do.

  33. Hi my name is Jonathan Bearden and I'm here to ask for your blessing for my cousin Joe. He has been through more then a average man could take. The house he lives in his mom, dad, and brother has passed away there! Some many memories for him the could change with a small make over. He is ready to start a family and start a new beginning and I think this gift would be incredible . The house he lives in now he lived in all his life, its wood frame and ready to fall in. I'm worried for a fire hazard! You guys make dreams come true hope you can make mine. Jonathan.

  34. Good day, my name Peter-Gaye Salmon from jamaica. Currently I live in Jamaica, St James and I need a home to live in. I'm 18 years old and graduating from high school this and I still sleep with my mother, I've never had the benefit of sleeping in my own room or my brother. We live in my aunt's mother house which is really small and my mother always wanted to build else where but there was no funds in time of need. She's always talking or imagining how her dream house will look like but it breaks my heart to know that we as her children can't help her to full fill her dreams and give her hope. She believes that God will make a way for her and send a miracle and I hope you guys are the miracle, thank you!

  35. I am Becky Smith, I'm 21 years old and my family deserves a new home and a break from all the crazyness we have been through. My Family consists of My Dad, Joe, my mom Theresa, I'm the oldest and my brother, Mackenzie and sister, Kallista. We've always been a low income family but my mom has always worked tirelessly to make sure we got what we needed, but it was hard sometimes. In 2014, my little sister was diagnosed with a rare form of bone cancer. She is since then 2 years in remission since 1 year in the hospital and getting chemotherapy. It was really hard on my parents, having to miss work to be with her at the hospital, and it was hard for our whole family. In that same year, I was diagnosed with a genetic degenerative disease called ehlers-danlos syndrome. It's a collagen disorder that makes the collagen in my body break down and not repair itself, meaning bone and joint problems and lots of pain. My brother has Marphans Syndrome which is related to EDS, and my father is diabetic and has neuropathy in his legs. Just one year ago, my mom started school to be a medical assistant, but halfway through had to be rushed to the ER to have emergency surgery on her eye. She was diagnosed with glaucoma, and now has to be on meds constantly. My whole family has to battle with some sort of disease or sickness and we are standing on our last legs. With all of our problems making it hard to work, our bills aren't being paid and we often have very little food. We have vermin in our house we can't get rid of because of no money, and making us sicker. My family desperately needs help, our house is not big enough and does not have what it needs to help us through our sicknesses. Anything will help, We are desperate

  36. I am writing this for the family of Lori Roberts they are unaware of me doing this.

This last December 19th, Austin Roberts (Lori's 18 year old son) collapsed during the finals of our home wrestling tournament and passed away shortly after. I am Austin's wrestling Coach (Adam Gress).

Austin's family does not have much and there was a great out pouring of support to help with funeral costs from the wrestling community across the nation. The support was amazing to see and his parents were so grateful and amazed as well.

They currently live in house that is falling apart. Through Austin's death, they have found one of his sisters has a heart defect as well and medical bills are mounting. To make things worse Lori and Austin's father have recently divorced. Lori worked part time to allow her the time to travel to games, matches and other events for Austin and his twin 14 year old sisters. He made much of the money. Lori has and will continue sacrifice her own needs to make sure her twin girls are cared for and do the things they love. She needs help to make that happen and I am unsure how else to help other than moral support and small monetary donations from my family and a handful of others.

I cannot tell this story in its entirety in a few words, I would sincerely thank anyone who would give me a chance to help Lori and her daughters and listen to her story. Thank you for your time, I appreciate it.

  39. My name is Jeremy, I'm a medically retired Staff Sergeant out of the US Army. I am trying this because I just need assistance in trying to build a forever home for my family. I was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis back in 2006 while serving my second year in Iraq. I have the my soon to be wife and 3 kids and 1 foster kid in the house. I am not asking to be on the show as I am sure there are more deserving souls out there. I am just asking for any guidance or ideas as to what to do and how to do it. Thank you

  40. My name is Melissa and I just bought my first house in Grayson, GA. While I love my house, I don't like the way it's decorated. I feel like my decorations are for a young college student. I want to step it up and have a home that looks more suitable for a young adult in her early 30's.

  41. This audition/nomination is not for me, but for a very dear friend of mine named Sandra Saunders. I have been a friend to Sandra for many years, and I have seen her go from a happy and healthy person, to a shell of the person she used to be. To make a long story very short, I started doing Sandra's hair (I'm a hairstylist) about 8 years ago, and she was fun, spunky and healthy. She was a single mother that worked hard to provide for her daughter. Her daughter is now 28, and married with 2 children. After about 2 years of knowing her, her health declined rapidly, and she had to have open heart surgery (at the time she was only in her late 40's), she quickly recovered from this surgery and resumed life as normal. Then, not quite a year later, she said her left leg felt numb and sore all the time. After a series of tests, they found she had a severe blockage in one of the main arteries in her left leg. It was beyond the point of being able to put a stint in the artery, so they had to amputate her left leg. Of course, after this amputation, she was no longer able to work, and had to resign to living off of disability pay ($733.00/month plus about $80/month in food stamps), she has struggled to make ends meet ever since this amputation. Then, at the beginning of 2015, she fell very ill with pneumonia and needed to be hospitalized. Something with the co-payments, or her out of pocket portion of the Medicaid didn't jive just right, so the hospital told her she had to pay everything per the hospital stay upfront, and of course she did. Well, because she did, it put her behind to pay rent at the tiny little place she was living in, and she just couldn't catch up financially. She went to court over the late rent, and the judge ruled to evict her from her place. So, since this court ruling, she has been homeless and living in her car, which would be challenging for anyone, but she's an amputee on top of it, which makes the situation much more complicated and dangerous for her. In the winter time, being in her car isn't that bad, but in the middle of hot Florida summers, and tropical storms rolling through Tampa, it can be brutal. Her car sometimes reaches temperatures of 100+ degrees, and when it rains, she can't roll the windows down. She's tried looking for an apartment within her budget, but most of those are in bad neighborhoods, and if she does find something, they say she needs a co-signer because of the prior eviction, and she can't find a co-signer. The Doctors are telling her that she's a "ticking time bomb" health wise because of being in her hot car so much. She runs a high risk of possibly dying of heat stroke. Everyone deserves a roof over their heads, and a place to sleep. Her grandchildren can't even come visit her because she has no home. This woman has had one tough go around, but she still doesn't complain, and is always trusting that God will supply all her needs. Sometimes people just need a hand up. Please help my dear friend Sandra and put a roof over her head.

  42. Hi there, I have written before but not sure if you received it. Our home is to small. My grandson shares our bedroom, we have a 2 bedroom semi-house, my daughter ( kim ) is in the other room. Kim suffers with MS & needs her own room. She cannot walk nor sit up on her own as she is to weak. Her curtains are always closed as she hates the glare. Her eyes are weak. My g/son is 14 yrs.,my daughter is 38 yrs old in July. My husband has a casual drivers job for an electrical co. We r both on pension, but it is South African currency which is very weak…can u help us with an extra room & also fix up the bathroom please. I am not asking much, just another room & put a shower in place of the bath as there is a leak under the bath which causes a wet floor when we open the inlet tap to fill up the tank. So PLEASE HELP !! Thank you.

  43. where do I begin? I moved into my 2 bedroom apartment about 14 years ago, when I had only one child. My family has grown and my husband and I have 7 children total, and still living in the two bedroom apartment. 6 boys (full of energy!) and one girl. We share one bathroom. It is so so crowded.
Why are we here? Through the years, it has been struggle after struggle financially. We have not been able to get our credit scores where they need to be, not been able to save anything. The idea of my babies having their own rooms, space to their own and a backyard, is an amazing dream to me. It has been hard for them growing up with hardly any room for themselves, crunches together. We would be so blessed to have your help!

  44. My name is Emily. I'm 16 and my mom has breast cancer. She was diagnosed 3 months ago but our troubles started before that. We have been renting a house for almost two years and since the day we moved in there have been problems. Toilets breaking, light fixtures leaking, etc. but now that she has cancer it's all gotten even worse. The dog who lived here before ours peed on the floor and now our house reaks of it. The landlord wants to sell the house but with my mom out of work so often for her treatment we can't afford to keep it. She has college and treatments to pay off and car payments not to mention the three kids. We need help. She's always wanted a home. She used to say " A house is made of wood and beams, but a home is made of love and dreams." She hasn't said that in a long time and I'm afraid that she has given up hope on finding a home. Please help her get that back, please.
    Sincerely, Emily

  46. Not sure if I'm aloud to do this.but I live in homeland, florida. But a couple years ago my grandma and aunts and uncles passed away due to different health problems, my "step dad" wanted me and my mom to move from our happy lives because of work. So we moved into my grandmas house after her passing. The house was already in bad shape, with mold and leaking roofs and.. Rats. And since we moved into the house after my grandmother passed , all of her stuff was still there, many other people come and go leaving all of their stuff, when they don't ask to stay. But with all the mold, dust, leaking roofs, and stuff it makes everyone's breathing bad. My mom has COPD and I've got breathing problems from when she use to smoke. last time it rained our kitchen roof started leaking and is now falling apart and caving in. That makes our breathing even worse. We don't exactly have the money to fix it either. my mom is unemployed, and we are just getting by with a check my grandpa receives, and food stamps.. My aunt doesn't want to leave my house even though she was uninvited and she makes it worse by smoking in the house, making messes everywhere, she threatens to burn us or burn our house down telling us to go kill ourselves. My aunt is over 30 years old. I am 14. The only people we actually want to live with us would be My mom, me, and my grandpa. But I feel as if our roof may fall and we could get severely hurt or something, and if that happened we may not have any place to go. We cannot keep our house clean for nothing because there is so much stuff cluttered around , in addition to my aunt , and my cousins that always get dropped on us and don't help, nor do they listen. I don't know where I'm going with this for sure. But. I'm really worried. My grandpa is old , my mom has breathing problems,I have problems, and I'm 14. So. I don't know. But it would be a blessing if this could happen. God bless all of you. You guys are doing great things. Thank you.

  47. I'm taylor lee my dad died in 2007. Me my mom and my 15year old sister are living in our tiny house with my oldest sisters baby visiting all the time. I still miss my dad alot he got shot in Pontiac. We really need you please help us ABC

  48. My name is Courtney, I'm 17 years old and I come from a small community in West Virginia called Walkersville. When I was just 13 years old I lost my mom due to stomach cancer. A few months after that my dad was diagnosed with Prostate Cancer. In October of 2014 my dad had to have an emergency surgery due to a lower blockage in his lower stomach. October 11th of 2015 my oldest brother was involved in a very bad ATV accident and had to have below the knee amputation. December 31st of 2015 my dad retired from his job after 34 years to take care of my brother. My dad was recently admitted to the hospital due to his heart being out of rhythm and being short winded. My family hasn't had it easy these few years and I'm just asking for you all to bring some good luck to our lives.

  49. Hi my name is Dustin. My parents have had quite the rough life since 2001. I lost my brother January 6th 2001. A drunk driver had hit the car he was riding in. A few short years later our house caught fire. We lost almost everything of my brother Brandons stuff. Took a big toll. Than all the smoke went into our barn making our milk cows sick. We ended up having to sell the cows and a lot of land because we fought the insurance and they didn't think we deserved much. Few years after that we had a feed mill in our town that also caught fire and lost everything in that as well. Than just this morning we had a fire in our barn. My parents are looking at selling because the house we got after the fire was not built well at all. Roof is shot, windows leak, and so much more. The barn needs a bunch of work. My parents have always worked their hardest to do everything for us 3 boys. I love that farm more than anything and it would be great if they could actually have a nice barn and house again. It's my biggest thing to always go out there and help my dad out raise animals. It's been in our family for a very long time and I'd hate it if I couldn't go to the family farm and help out or just see the animals and the view that I grew up seeing every day for 26 years.

  52. Greetings! As I am sitting here typing the years are starting to flow. The reason I am reaching out is for my Grandmother who will turn 78 in October with the help of the King Jesus on her side. My grandmother is a widow who resides in Georgia, who is very spiritual, sweet, loving, caring; giving, and understanding. She is always concerned about individuals and going out of her way to help anyone she may come in contact with. Even though her home look okay on the out side, there is some unforseen conditions on the inside that need repaired. I must say the passing of my grandfather, has really affect mu family, but most of all my Grandmother. Every since his passing she has changed, and when I say changed, I mean she grieving in a different way, in which I nor my family has seen before. She started to just accumulate all kind of clothing and etc. To keep just in case she come in contact with people in need.

As I am concern about her health and safety duedo to the condition of her home. The flooring need replaced, piping/plumbing, ceiling, stairs, porches and etc. She need accessible items that would make her live a little easier. I pray that the Good Lord use uou in a mighty way when selecting your family.

Note: My grandmother has a huge family, and we use her home as the family gathering location, inspite of the conditions, as this what keep her strong and going. Lord I ask this in your name. I want to make sure she can live the rest og her days knowing that she had a grandson who really love, care and willing to do anything legal to make sure she feel comfortable, loved, and appreciated as she shows and displays to others.

  53. Hello my name is Laurie and my life has changed in the last 3 years after my son who is 13 and I both got diagnosed with Lyme disease . We both have been very sick and getting treatment has been hard because there are very few doctors treating it and require you to pay out of pocket most don't take insurance. We have taken several rounds of antibiotics and othe treatments spending a lot of money and nothing had helped. We both have become sensative to mold now since our immune systems are compromised. Chemicals are another thing that bothers us. The home we were living in had mold and had to leave it. Currently we are living in a hotel and I'm unable to work because my work had severe water damage which causes mold. Everyday I would go to work I would get very sick with my hands turning red, burning and swelling and felt like I had touched a hot iron. We have tested several homes and most have mold. We are looking to buy a new home but new homes are filled with formaldehyde which causes the symptoms in me as well. Trying to find a way to make the new home we possibly buy safe me if not I will have to live outside in a tent. Finances are an issue since I'm not working. Finding a way to make this home safe for me puts us on a tight budget to make it ok. I'm so desperate to find a safe place to live and heal my body. This whole experience has been a nightmare and pray everyday that things will get better for us.

  54. I am applying for some close friends of mine. They live in a house that is too small and is falling apart. Tammy Ledbetter is taking care of her parents, who suffer from alzheimers and demintia. she can't afford to get a new house since she is drowning in medical bills. She is one of the strongest women I know. I believe it was five years ago when she lost her son to an overdose. This ripped her apart but she knew she couldn't give up. She still had to care for her family. She shares a room with her seventeen year old daughter. Her daughter is an amazing person as well. She helps with her church and is nice to everyone she meets. This family needs a new home.

  56. Hi. My name is Leigha. I really am nothing special, but my grandmother is. Her husband (my grandfather) has recently been placed in the nursing home. Parkinson is a terrible disease. Anyway, my grandpa right before he got diagnosed with Parkinson promised my grandma he would build her a house. With limited supplies and no help at all, he promised her a house. When he got Parkinson's he also developed dementia, so even though my grandmother goes to the nursing home everyday all day to see him, he doesn't know who she is. Please help my grandpa keep his promise. She deserves it oh so very much. Thank you for this opportunity to change her life.
    Much love,
    Leigha

  57. Hello, My name is Josita Borja,
My family and I relocated out here to TEXAS, we come from the beautiful island of GUAM. I am a mother of 4, aged 9,7,6 and 5 months old. We moved out here so that we can find a better life and provide better for our family. We are staying with my cousin and his family (his wife, mother in law and 3 kids ageing 10,8 and 1 and a half year old the baby was born a premature)We love that they are helping any way that they can, but the house that they have bought off of a homeowner is falling apart. They had rented this place from a homeowner before, had moved out and when they found that the owner was putting it up for sale they jumped on it because when they were renting the house things were great, they bought the house to accomidate their growing children and their family pets the previous owner had even fixed up the garage and turned it into a studio type living area which my family and I are staying in. They stay in the main house, both of the houses the foundation is cracking and not level, our extended house water seeps through when it rains from the outside ground because the foundation is almost leveled with the outside ground, it's a open space with no bed rooms so we basically don't have any privacy, the shower room is falling apart, the p reviouse owner came and took the washer, dryer and stove and ice box, while the process was still going papers were 80% through we told her about the airconditioning that someone had came and cut up all the wires the connect to the airconditioning system so now it's really hot in our place, she told us that The house isn't here and there is nothing she can do, but when we did The report The police said she has to be The one to do it because she is still The owner and she can claim The damage on the insurance and get it fixed, she claimed The money and never fixed it. The main house is lope sided and it is falling apart the ceiling has fallen and the living Room walls are stripped, there is a leak in the roof, lighting fixtures are out, the floors are cracked and wholes in the floor. Bathroom is falling apart, it's a two new room house but even with that they can't fit. We have enough room in our yard to expand the houses. We just don't have the money. The p reviouse owner had us marked up 1,000.00 per month +++ and both the house and living area is falling to pieces. It's only out the men of the house that work. We really could use the help. We are in need, we were so lucky that when the roofing fell no one was in the house. Our Children can really get injured, we have no where else to go we love paycheck to paycheck and we are begging for help. We can use more house space in both sides. Both places need to be built from ground up and extended to a bigger house for our growing family and children, we love the separation we get, but we want a area where it can accomidate all of us, we love our private space were we don't interfere with one another's space but there isn't enough space to move to eat etc. We need 3 rooms for each house, with our own kitchens and living rooms space, but an extra living space in the middle of our house were we can all sit down together and enjoy each others company. Please extreme home makeover, rescue out families.

My insurance or home owners association would not investigate claim , It's been about five years. I was hospitalized many times had to go back to New York with lack of funds or correspondence. I moved to Fort Myers Florida from New York with my last dime and my life turned in a nightmare from this home. The house is basically sound and clean with out dated furnishings. More than a make over I want to be healthy in my home. I think a professional would find this problem in minutes / I am not even telling half of this nightmare to keep it simple and one of my disabilitys is learning so speaking in person would be a great help / If you choose my home your services would be greatly appreciated. My intention is to live healthy in my home not put extreme makeover in the middle of anything other than repairs. Thank You

  66. Hi! My name is Briana. My boyfriend and his mom are living in the worst condition. I haven't seen any one else house, but this one should definitely be picked. I wish to send pictures. When you first walk up the concrete stair to get to the door, there's a HOLE in the porch. The door can only be pushed lightly to open. That's so dangerous for anyone to live in. When you walk in, there is no light in the front room, and it's very cluttered with old furniture. You have to watch your step to enter into the bedroom because there is another hole in the floor. Anything is liable to enter. The walls are full of holes and he don't have doors that are stable. When it rains heavy, and the wind blows, it shifts the house a little. I found that out by reading him and his mom text messages. His mom takes care of both of her grandparents, one is always in the hospital because she is suffering with something in her body and the grandfather is blind. Luckily they live right in front of her. And the grandparents house is in bad shape too. The mom has to take care of 5 boys and is a single parent. I believe that since they are all unemployed, they deserve something nice and wealthy. Please help. Not only me but everyone will be so happy for them. My boyfriend mom TRIES Super HARD to provide for her family. She just needs help. Every time my boyfriend comes over to my home, he never want to leave because how nice it is and I want him to never leave his home, one day. I only been there once but I want to always go. I will pray to my heavily father that y'all choose to remodel in PineBluff Arkansas. God Bless anyone that reads this. #MiraclesCANhappen #iTrustYouLord.

  67. Hello! I'm from PineBluff Ar, where in this city you have little to none options on choosing the house of your desires. This story isn't persay about me. This is a story of my boyfriend. When we first met, he never wanted me to go in his house, never wanted me to see the outside. So a couple months later, He finally did. I went in his house actually last night & it melted my heart into sooooo many pieces. He only pushed the door as if he didn't have a lock. The front door opens late at night sometimes. He can't put nothing over the door because his mom still has to come home but when she does she put a dresser on the door. His mom is just going through a lot. She's taking care of both of her grandparents while one is constantly in the hospital and the other one is blind. Now luckily she lives right in front of her grandparents, and their house is bad also. Never been in but you can see the inside a little from the outside. However, It would literally MAKE ME CRY So HARD if someone can come to Arkansas. It don't have to be anything Rich but I want it to look nice. I don't care how much you guys charge BUT I WILL get my money out of my savings for college and help my boyfriend. I'm just crying right now because he's sleeping in that. Omg if y'all see the house it would make you cry. Please please please help my boyfriend and his family. He don't know I'm doing this but they need the help. I hope Arkansas won't get ignored. Please ExtremeMakeover

  68. Hello my name is Erica I have a husband and 3 children one of witch my son's have a disability.i have been in my home for about 10 years now. And here lately I have not been able to keep it up I work on a job that only pay minimum wage and do to financial difficulties my husband had to fill bankruptcy so a great part of his income go to that I live in a small town in louisiana called Albany.we are in desperate need of some help.please will you all consider my family

  69. In the last 4 years, I lost my son, my mother, my father, my marriage, my job and my 6 bedroom, 4 bath home, that was mine for 30+ years. I always filled my home with people, mostly kids, who had nowhere else to go: Felix (1.5 Yrs.), Jason (8 mos.), Melissa (off and on 10 Yrs.), Cindi and her 5 kids (6 mos.), Christina (10 yrs.), Christina's daughter and her two kids (3 mons.), Raylyn (1 yr.), Craig (1.5 yrs.) and probably several more I can't quite remember. Now, I'm the one who needs help. I am a soon to be 63 year old professional woman who is unlikely to find employment at this stage of my life. With the exception of my 24 year-old daughter, I am alone; the product of an only child of an only child. I have less than $1500 in my checking account and a 2000 square foot home, built in 1962, on an acre of property in a Country Club in Tucson. It's truly lovely area, but the house is too small. People are tearing down these smaller homes to build mansions, because the lots are so big. I don't want a mansion! I want THIS house, the house I grew up in. But it needs updating. The ceilings are so low, I can literally touch them in my bare feet! I have a builtin stove that can't be replaced with a newer model, without tearing out a counter. The master bath has a small shower and a toilet and no counter space. The guest bathroom is almost as bad. Although the structure and the roof are in good shape, the interior has not been touched in 5 decades. If I can't remodel it, I will have to sell it for about what it will cost me to buy a small condo somewhere else, where I won't have the network of friends that I have here. I need help updating THIS house to show it can hold it's own in a sea of mansions! Big isn't necessarily better. I can certainly contribute to this effort by taking out a loan, but would welcome the help with the planning and design.

I have a degree in criminal justice and hoping to get a degree in nursing it has been a struggle for us both in our ten year marriage. If I could give back to my husband I would like a makeover in the house we are currently living in… It really needs a lot of work. Thank you for taking the time to read this we live in oklahoma
