  6. Hi ty my name is Jessica long and I need my own place soon please I need your help because I been have lots of sezuries

  7. Hi EHM!! I've always wished I could win the lottery to give my parents a new home! My dad is 71 and my mom is 68! They have always did their very best to take care of my sister and I. Recently, my dads health has failed but he is still thankful and cheerful every single day. My mom takes care of him 24/7. I have applied for remodeling grants for my parents but they only get the run-around. My mom comes to my 2 bdrm apartment and wishes it was hers rather than her 3 bedroom home!! They do not have proper pumbling, they heat by space heaters and cool by wall units, most rooms in the house need electrical work, they are currently using lamps. The bathroom is horrific, the floor is coming apart. It's just a really bad safety risk for both of my parents. This remodel would benefit them more than anyone else in this world and they would be forever grateful and in your debt. Please help my loving parents!

  8. Hi my name is olivia and this application isn't for Mr but for my aunt. She is my world and my inspiration. She is the reason I am so enthusiastic and energetic. My aunt has been through some big hurdles like obesity and going through multiple surgeries for it. She has suffered from depression and the one way I could make her happy is giving her her dream home. She no longer wants to walk in her house because it isn't livable anymore please contact me.

  9. My name is JoJo Gomez and I am writing in regards to my life long friend Jennifer Bolanos and her husband Ruben. I will make my story very short for now. Jennifer and Ruben live in Roswell NM and have been teachers, coaches, administrators in the local education system there for more then 20 years. They are raising 3 children there. One has just completed her first year in college and there is still 2 kids at home. Anyway on March 22 a life changing event happened and Ruben had a bone spur break off of his backbone and put extreme pressure on his spinal cord. He was taken by ambulance to the local hospital and then flown to El Paso TX for emergency surgery to remove the piece of bone. Unfortunately the damage had already been done and he is paralyzed from the waist down. He has spent the last 2 months in the hospital and a rehab facility. He just got to move back home. However, this is where you come in, their home is not handicap accessible. They attempted to buy a different home that was, but it did not work out. They cannot afford the remodel that needs to be done to their home, nor will medical or homeowners insurance cover any part of it. They obviously have not been working for the last couple of months so even their normal income is suffering. They expect the remodel to cost about $10,000. Not to mention they also need to find a handicap accessible vehicle for the family to use. Obviously this is something that needs to be addressed ASAP because she cannot maneuver him around in the house in the condition it is in now. Please get back to me as soon as possible. I am also going to start a person fund raiser and house remodel party to try and get some help for these amazing people.

  12. Im not one to give something to, or be owed anything, but Im contacting you just like all the other 2730480 people in this world asking for your help, and begging to be on a day time talk tv show. But this time, in my case, we really, truly do need your help. Im doing this for the family I babysit. They are two hardworking people who love their family, the community and vaule god for than anything. The Tylers. The Tyler's have 4 children, Kieligh-13, Hayden-11, Jocelyn-5, and Ashton Paige-10 Months. Ive been close with this family for many years, and I have babysitted all the children since birth. Nick, the father of Jocelyn an Ashton, and step father of Kieligh an Hayden, works for a construction company making a little short of minium wage, and works harder than anyone I know. Nick even tries to get off work early, knowing he can't, just to get home and spend time with Ashton and the girls before they go to sleep. Nina, the mother of all, works a 12 hour shift as well, making just minuim wage. Nick & Nina make just enough to get by, and their current house is barely making due for the whole family. Both older girls share the upstairs, as the younger ones, share a room in the basement with Nina and Nick. This family receives donated christmas gifts every year from the local High School's interact club. Not only was this family, a huge blessing from god to myself, but also to the community. Please help, us help this family.

  14. Hi
One of my extremely close friends has had a really hard time the past couple of years. She was in a bad relationship with her two boys and thankfully is now out but the problems keep mounting up for her. She has been diagnosed depressed and had to leave work. I go round regularly to help her with the boys and to try and keep a tidy well managed house but she isnt coping and always wishes there was someway her house could be better equipt with storage and easy to manage.
So i would like to nominate her as she is such an amazing person and its so hard to see her going through a touph time in life.

  15. After just having signed a new lease, accepted new job offer, lost my stepfather, had a kitchen fire that left most items damaged and now in storage, then lost a dear friend, all in The Month of May. These events have left me bunking with my daughter and her family, God bless 'em. Then with a twist of fait another friend of mine struggling with lupus, RA and now cancer treatments (going well by the way)will be putting my best foot forward to try and help her recuperate and whatever else I can along the way. She is a kind soul who is very giving and thoughtful, it is easy to want to help her but I am concerned that her home is a bit of a bigger project than I can handle and in dire need of some love. Forever grateful to any assistance offered so I and others' can spend our energy and time helping her instead of cleaning/repairing, etc.

  18. Hi. My name is Nelwyn. Today, 6/12/2016, my disabled father lost his home to a fire. It was a total loss and he does not have any insurance. My father is the type of guy that will give you the shirt off his back, no questions asked. He is always willing to help anyone and expects nothing in return. He is retired but has a mowing business where he mows fields and maintains friends properties to make extra money. He also finds time to volunteer for the local Amtrak train station. My father always puts others needs before his own. There was one night when he was volunteering at the train station and a couple came in and had just missed the last train heading northbound. When my father's volunteer shift was over he gave the couple a ride to their destination which was 2 hours away. My father does so much for others and now he is in need of help. There are so many people that have taken advantage of my father's generosity and he still continues to give back. He is an inspiration to me and is my hero. My father's home was also home to my disabled grandfather, my disabled aunt, a family friend that lost her home in a fire, my adult brother and my younger brother who is a minor. There are a total of 6 of them that lived in this home. My father and grandfather are both insulin diabetics and have other health issues but this illness doesn't slow my father down. My mom pasted away from cancer in February 2013. Her request to me was to always take care of my father, no matter what. I live 2 hours away from my father and when I travel to see my family, I always make sure that he is taken care of. I talk to him often, most times when he has just finished a job and is heading home for the night. My family is very important to me and I will do whatever I have to, to see that they are cared for. I am a single mother of 2, work full time and take care of all my father's financials. I am asking for your help because I don't have the money to help build a new home for my family.
    Thank you for your time,
    Nelwyn

  19. Hi. My name is Oralia Cortes, and I want a Home makeover for my Dad. He is a man who has been there and worked so hard to support his humble home and family. My mom passed away last August 2015 and it's been very hard for all of us. I wish I had money to renovate our home but I can barely support myself. My Dad has never served the country because he was born in Mexico, but he is a very hard working man, whom I admire and love with all my heart. He is and has been a carpenter for over 40 years, he is already retired, we used to be migrants and traveled to New York State to work out in the fields. I am the oldest of his three children, I believe my Dad deserves a new home due to always helping others and remodeling their home and we have not been able to remodel our home. We live in Progreso, TX since I believe 1984. My Dad owns the property. I know I may not have a heart warming story but I wish this dream can come true. You people have done amazing helping other people and I wish it was our turn. I would like to thank you for taking your time reading my story and hope you can help the little people down south of Texas.

  22. My mom bought a foreclosed house in the high desert of California. After living in it for three years she and my step dad moved a few miles away into a new home.

My husband and I lived in Reading Pennsylvania, but with my husband being disabled the constant weather changes we knew that California would be better for us. So in October we packed up everything we owned and drove cross country with our three cats from PA to CA. I moved into the house unseen and my mom did a great job making it as habitable as possible, but it needs help. I have no type of cooling system other than two stand fans we bought which just blow hot air. The roof swamp cooler is broken, and with three cats we cannot open any of the windows with the exception of two as there are no screens. Moving to the high desert was not our first choice but with me making barely over minimum wage and my husband on fixed income it's all we could do. The temps have already started reaching over 100 and my husband and three kitties are home all day in that heat.

That's just one of the many problems with this house. We have an unusable garage as the door is broken so our car sits in the blazing sun. The kitchen usable but half of the cabinets are not usable and little things like not being able to open the door to the dishwasher fully makes putting dishes in it very hard. Something about the design of the house and insulation makes it hotter than it is outside.

I just don't see how we can survive here and with no money to return to Pennsylvania we feel trapped. I would like to love my house but it needs some fixing in order to do that. There are many little things that just aren't right so please help me and my family.

  23. hi I am Richard and this is what is going on with me and my family. My family and I are living in a house that is literally falling apart around us form the dynamiting at the two rock quarries near by I am on disability. My wife and three step-daughters are from Greece and we have been fighting to get there green cards. My wife has two jobs just to keep food on the table. We met playing a online video game and I hade just lost my first wife in a auto crash So my mom and sisters helped me take a trip to Greece to meet and we are now married and have a common son so we are six people in a three bedroom home that is falling apart and have no way to fix it we got approved for emergency home repair and Weatherization last year in 2015 and we are still waiting for them to come. Is there any one if not extreme home makeover that cane help to at lest get are house in living condition

  24. hi my name is Luther, I am secretly doing this because my wife doesn't like asking for help which we need. we are first time home buyers who purchased a fixer upper which is the only thing that we could afford but it seems as if everything is falling apart, we both work full time jobs 8 and 12 hours a day, we foster 5 children (which one of them we don't know how long he has to live) on top of raising our own 3 and its just getting to be a little too much on our plate we just need help

  25. A work colleague's son Kaizler (3) become sick with the flu November 2015. Toni's wife took their son to the doctor to get looked at, they were then referred to Children's Mercy in Kansas City. Toni got a phone call from his wife promptly after their visit, not knowing this was just the beginning to their battle. Kaizler was diagnosed with leukemia. This young child was so active and had a full hair of beautiful curly blonde hair! Toni fights everyday to help his son through this battle, beside Kaizler are his 5 other brother's and sister's. Toni is one that would never accept hand outs, he's here at work everyday possible to earn a living for his other children he has to stay strong for. I could continue to paint a picture of their situation, but it would take hours and hours to explain the pain this family has went through… from being in remission, to a couple weeks later being unresponsive. This is a battle no child should have to fight. Please follow Toni's page on Facebook ( Prayers for Kaizler ) there's a day by day journal that keeps everybody updated on the everyday battles.

  26. Hello my name is Jenise and I know that me and my finace'story might not be more serious than the other stories posted but it is to me. Between me and my husband, we have 6 kids. 5 boys and 1 girl ages from 14 to 2. We leave in a 3 bedroom 1 bath home in which only two are ok to sleep in. Considering our oldest child is autistic, he has a bedroom to himself because he likes to be alone at times. While the others kids either sleep with me and my husband or on a sofa. We have been trying to find a bigger and affordable house but haven't had any luck considering that my husband got laid off his job after 13 yrs. And I'm only working part time at a clothing store. We do our best to make it and to keep our home that we own remain livable but it's really not. We have plumbing problems, mold, and pest problems. It breaks my heart that I can't do enough for my kids and step kids. I really need your help. I just want our kids to be able to know that we will do anything to make things easier for them and is just not the way we choose to live. If you can help us that would be greatly appreciated, if not, I appreciate you reading my story and I hope you can help someone in much more need.

  27. Hi we are LaTonya and Johnny Gullens. Johnny and I are children of Lovers and Elder Johnny Gullens Sr. We are reaching out to you in regards to our parents living situation. Our parents have been in their home for about 15 years. Our dad has been trying to renovate this home on his own. Tons of work from roofing to plumbing, foundation, internal exterior because of the large holes created from rain coming through the ceiling. They have had an out of control problem with pest; mice, fleas, bed bugs, bats etc…. Of course we realize this is an old home that's in desperate need of renovation from the foundation and up. Mom has very serious health conditions such as high blood pressure, diabetes and has had three heart attacks as well as a recent triple bypass heart surgery. Dad is a Vet of the marines and is an Elder serving at his church. He's always been a very hard worker and is always a very giving person willing to help so many in need. He's a very upstanding citizen in his community. He has health problems that doesn't allow him to do the things he once was able to do. We are afraid that this house that they love so much is going to become condemned. They live at 129 E. Dayton in South Bend, Indiana. We've all tried to get them to live comfortable somewhere else but because of the memories and upbringing of the family in this home they don't want to leave their home. They're in their mid sixties and just aren't able bodies nor do they have the finances to take on the task. We as the children feel that this would be the greatest gift of relief for them as well as the family. In closing we would not only appreciate what you could do for them but we will forever be thankful to you for taking the stress out of their lives and living situation. Please help. Our dream will come true and our prayers will be answered. Thank you in advance. Sincerely, The Gullens Children.

  28. Hello my name is James Wright I'm 35 years old and as of right now me and my wife of two years are staying with her sister. We don't have any credit to get a house and I'm not able to work because my wife is a diabetic and on dialysis and she is unable to walk she has an electric wheelchair and the reason that I'm not able to work is because she needs help around the house but the few times that I'm able to work I go and help my stepfather do yard work.the house that we are staying in now my wife would like to live here forever. Since last year our life has been pretty bad my wife ended up in the hospital 4 times within 2 months one of those times she was in the ICU and that was in may and then October came and my sister passed away and then on Jan the 15th my mother passed away. I went to online college but things were so bad that I had to pawn my computer to be able to eat and I ended up losing it.my wife is not able to have kids the one son she did have was stillborn. We would like to become foster parents someday.being able to own our own home would be a miracle and I do believe that God does miracles.I know that there are a lot of people that deserve a home makeover I just hope a pray that me and my wife can be one of them. She wants one so bad that she watches makeover shows all the time and tells me Jamie I wish we could have our own home.I have tried to work but when she got on dialysis it has been a big struggle for me to try to make ends meet.I had to sell our only vehicle because I didn't have money for her birthday back in may.and now we don't have a vehicle and we have to get Medicaid transportation to pick us up 3 days every week for Dialysis and for her Doctors appointments. Before my mother passed she told me son I want to try to buy y'all a house but she passed away before she could fulfill that dream.my only blood family left is my three nieces that I love with all my heart.thank you for your time. I hardly ever check my email I hope that it's OK if I leave my phone number.1-662-760-2684.

  31. Hi
Please help!!! i've been sitting on a vision for many years now hopefully this is the time for it to be brought into reality !!!!
It involves setting up a trust that will go on for ever for the community of Falkirk in Scotland causing ripples far and wide.
There's a house sitting in an eleven acre park which was donated to the people of Falkirk by Robert Dollar you may have heard of him for he also donated a home as a Cultural Centre for the community in San Rafael, California called "Falkirk". There is a very interesting story to be told here, but we need Ty's genius to MAKE A DREAM A REALITY
Hope with all my heart that you can make this happen.
    Love Always
    laraine xx

  32. Howdy Ya'll! My name is Cassandra and I am a wife and mother. My husband and I have been married for 3 years. We also have 4 little boys. The reason I need a home makeover is because my house is beginning to feel less like a home and more like a crumbly breadbox! My husband and I both work full time 3rd shift, but opposite schedules. He works Monday-Thursday and I work Friday through Sunday. So we hardly see each other. I go to school full time throughout the week days starting at 7 am. Our house is beginning to need help. The bathroom ceiling is began to mold and we couldn't afford to replace it so we bought mold killing paint to cover it up. Our house only has two bedrooms so all four of my children share a room. We wanted so badly to turn our garage into a bedroom since its only a single stall and it cannot fit any cars but the project is going to cost us a pretty penny. We are just getting by, putting food in the house and paying bills. I have thousands of dollars in medical bills and student loans. I don't expect to be the winner but it would sure be amazing to my family if we where.

  33. Hi my name is Linda and on May 23rd my husband passed away (it was his 35th birthday) we have 4 beautiful children 8, 6, 4 & 1. He was our soul provider a great husband and daddy he was our world he still is and me and the kids have moved in with my mother in law because we couldn't keep the house we were renting (our landlord had asked for a tenancy termination due to financial issues with him and not being able to refinance the property). My husband was a great man and a wonderful daddy and all I could have asked for. I feel completely lost without him, we had plans for our and our children's future and I just don't know how to carry on without him by my side.
My mother in law and father in law are wonderful people opening their home to us they have became our closes family… She owns a 3 bedroom mobile home on a little piece of property and the kids and I are sharing a room. I wish I could have a home built to accommodate all of us. We are a family and this is where we would rather be. We don't ask for much and we don't mind sharing, especially now we need to be as close as we can and help each other through this hard time. My husband was her only son and we all lost a big part of our life. And this was our first home together, we were married here had our first child here there's no where else wed rather be. I wish I could build us a home here that would fit us all comfortably and not have to worry about space or things falling apart, it's an older home and needs some repairs, but it does the job. There's 8 of us in this 3 bedroom mobile home and we would have a home builders if we could but right now that's not an option we've even considered buying a travel trailer for me and the kids to have our own space but still be close. I'm hoping to be able to go back to school soon so I can provide a better future for my children. This is the hardest thing I've ever had to deal with especially when my 4 year old asks if we stay with grandma will daddy get better? How do you explain to a child that daddy is an angel now and even tho we can't see him he's always here watching over us…. and my oldest 2 don't want to leave grandmas, I've asked them if they'd like to get a little apartment and they said they'd rather be in one bedroom than move away. Were better together as a family than apart and we'll be here either way but it would mean the world to us to be able to have a home that would fit us all and make daddy's dream come true. I have so much more I could say and I'm not sure how to say it. I could go on and on if our family is considered i will happily tell you our life's story, than you for your time and consideration…. Linda B and Kids ♡

  40. I am nominating Colonel Weaver that's his name not his rank although he was a Sargent in the Army until he developed Gulf War syndrome and broke his back in a parachute jump while serving in the 82nd.Mom and Dad found love at an early age, and had my brother sister and myself while serving. We moved back to our hometown of Mobile Alabama. Although times were tough they managed to take care of us and even took in other kids from family members and raised them due to their own bad situations. They bought a modular home and added rooms on trying to make it simular to a log cabin on the inside and even let a family from Germany come so that they too would have a chance at the American dream. They have sacrificed so much for us . I feel they deserve to win a makeover , the roof needs tinning and has ruined spots in our home causing possibly dangerous mold its cold in the winter too. they are prideful people and continue to strive on putting money when they can into this place . I really feel they deserve anything possible from the bottom of my heart . God Bless.

  41. I'm not really sure how to even explaining of this or how to even lay this out, I'm not here to out due anyone else's story I wish we could all get the help we need and I pray one day we all will, sick guess I'll start by introducing everyone :). My name is Cheyenne, I work less then part time fri-sun, im 23 years old and I have been homeless more times then I can even count since moving to Washington..I've slept in my mom's suv a few times..I've lived in about 3 shelters, 1 of which was like a cult and tried to control ever aspect of what I did..served old reused food that made you sick..lied to the state by saying they had no kitchen so they could get food benefits..wouldn't let u bring your own food..couldn't watch tv or even movies on your own personal computer..they wouldn't even let me leave across the street to get formula for my my infant (jayden) because if he late for curfew and be locked out and forced me to stay in a room that had bed bugs so myself and child were getting bit constantly and it wasn't until I killed the mother bedbug that crawled across my pillow which was the size of a nickel that they let me move rooms, when I left I told the state about them and called the food and health inspector on them. I'm not sure what happened but they are still running. I've also loved in and out of multiple hotels with my son and mother. My mother got to a point in her life that no one would help us so age decided to take a whole bottle of pain pills and tried to commit suicide and came to our house and left my husband with her car keys and the little bit of money she had and simply walked away. I had to Chase after her a few blocks while on the phone with 911, I almost lost her, there was a note in her car that I still to this day don't know what it said. Since I moved here it's been nothing but drama..death..and constant struggles to eat..love..and survive, I thank God every day for this house and that my family has a roof over their head, but this house has so many dark memories and it shows when u walk in, you can feel it, well, at least we can. But enough of me, I have an extremely hard working husband who's dream is to actually build houses as well and is currently working for 118 designs at the union gospel mission by our house..he build furniture from scratch and also just got a job (in july) to learn to build houses, he follows his dreams and wishes to the fullest and is the most hard working man I've ever seen and does his best to provide a better life for his family at all costs, he's worked for moving companies, landscaping comoanies, he's done construction and hopes to one day have his own company building houses and possibly teaching our kids as well and making it into a family business. We have 3 young boys, jayden age 5, Isaac age 3, and Noah age 1. We live in Seattle WA in a house that was given to my husband by his grandfather that recently passed away suddenly in November 2016, so now my husband owns the house. We have been together since we were 15 and 16 and have lived in this house for 8+ years already (more for him since I've only lived in Washington since 2008). The house has been in his family for a very long time and is falling apart little by little each year. The house is a blessing of course..but it is also a huge burden It is 3 levels of outdated..old..broken..dirty..crap, at least that's how we see it, the main level has a living room, kitchen, bathroom and laundry room. The upstairs is a loft with private bedroom, and the downstairs was built on many years ago and has a living room and 2 bedrooms which has become the kids' area that they make a new mess of every day. 1 bedroom was thought to have mold in the ceiling but we could never afford to figure that out..still to this day we don't know. There's 2 large Windows that are in the living room area downstairs that are broken and are not insulated at all..so cold weather feels the same inside as it does outside..for all the Windows..just old wooden window frame with glass m, nothing more. There is also a second inference door that an old dog we had broke the doorknob off of so it doesn't open at all. The laundry room is basically a tiny hallway with a washer and dryer that takes about 3 cycles to dry and is packed with so much laundry it would probably take 6 megaloads at the laundromat to get it all washed since our washer is so tiny and the dryer takes forever. The kitchen is extremely outdated and has no dishwasher so everything is done by hand, the stove is probably the nicest thing in there..but even that falls apart at times, the cabinets doors broke off so I just have a curtain covering it and we seem to have 1 too many tables in a kitchen that doesn't really have a dinning room. The bathroom scared the crap out of me..the tiles on the floors are cracking and breaking off and the tub and shower are so old it makes creeping noises when you move, I feel like I'm going to fall through any day now..the fosset and shower head are rusted and the glue around them is slowing wearing away, it's safe to say I get in and get out. The livinroom is probably the only nice..ish..room in the house..aside from the broke couch..it's usually always something in each room..something broke..outdated..old..etc. Our metal screen door has a huge hole in it..which I've already scratched my nose in -_- ..the upstairs is really just old and we do our best to try and just make it look nice. Its kind of a weird shape with diagnal walls and u kind of hit your head of your not careful..also the ceilings r low so my husband often hits his hand on the ceiling fan while attempting to work out..the downstairs where the kids r is full of workout equipment but there just isn't a whole lost of space for him to do anything with all their stuff down there. The outside of the house is filled with play structures and old appliances that need to be taken to the dump that we just can't afford..the porch is breaking and seems to be unstable and with the broken screen door it poses some uneasy feeling as we don't exactly live in the best neighborhood..kinda of right in between a few different rival gangs..it's gotten better around here since I've lived here..but we have had a friend almost shot in the head just sitting in the porch due to a stray bullet that hit the house literally an inch from above her head..and a car has been blown up ouside the house..I'm assuming it was against our old neighbors who were active members of a gang. Many houses have been broken in to around here and I don't want ours to be ones of them, it's not something I want my kids to have to worry about and not something I want to worry about everyday. We hope to get out of this neighborhood, but can afford it..at all..we can't even afford to fix our house..so relocating is out of the question for sure for a long time. The bills for the house take pretty much both of our checks so cute really hard for us to do anything..or go anywhere..or take trips with the kids. I really hope to be able to do all that one day. We will one day, I know it. Until then we just have to be patient and let life take us through whatever journey we need to go on to build us up and individuals and as a family..we have a saying and it's "Until the Wheels fall off, and if they do we will be right there as a family to rebuild them and put them back in" we pray that you guys will pick who you feel needs this the most..and I know there are family who are way more in need them we are, but I know you guys will do whats best and right and all I can be is hopeful..with all we have been through in life, way more then I could even begin to type, I know we will be alright one day. I have a dream house in my head all the way down to the layout and the colors and I will forever hold onto that until the day my dreams can become a reality. God Bless you guys and God bless all the families who need help.

    Sincerely,
    The Rabb Family

  42. Dear Extreme Makeover,
I would like to nominate my grandparents, Sam and Susan Mangrum. They are truly the most kind hearted people. My grandparents recently moved into my great grandmothers house. My great grandmother passed away about 10 years ago and her husband lived in it till he passed. While he lived there he didn't do anything to keep the house up. When my grandparents moved in the house was in bad shape, but it still is in bad shape. They only have three rooms that they can actually be in. The barber shop is where they have the living room because the actually living room has no floor. When it rains the actually living room looks like a indoor swimming pool. The house has black mold. They are not able to fix it. They started working on it, but my grandfather, Sam has had two heart attacks and has 7 or so stints put in. He is currently off work until July. My grandmother, Susan is disabled she also has medical issues. They have went without food just so there animals didn't have to. With the stress of all the doctor bills and the house falling about it would be nice for them not to have to worry about if its all gonna fall apart. A remodeled house would be amazing because it's always been a lifetime dream of my grandparents to have all 11 grandchildren stay with them Christmas night so that we could all be together for Christmas. I hope you consider them for a Extreme Makeover.

  43. My name is Dolores, I'm writing for my mother in law lucy. Her house had a recent small fire. In that the city comdememd the house. It is a very old home and has never been updated only minor repairs. This women raised so many children not of her own plus her 2 now grown and she did it as a single mom. This house is paid off and therefore it is the safe house for the entire family. Whenever someone needs a place to stay they go there. Her brothers that live there permanently have found themselves living in apartments or with me. Most of the people living or that pass threw there need handicap assistance but this house is in no shape nor do we have the money or resources to start to rebuild it. To top it off the house is still under my mother in laws mom's name that has passed away many years ago. So now the cost of probate court and repairs or rebuilding is getting far from our reach. This house will be lost if we don't do someth soon. My mother in law is on ssi and Medicaid so the worry of the government taking the land and home is a real possibility. She has always dreamed of have her house back where she and her brothers can live together but separate with a spare place for anyone who needs a place. Please consider this desperate call for help. We need help help before the house gets demoed

  46. To whom it may concern,
I am in need of some help to help my father restore his home. He is 72 years old, and his health is not as good as it used to be, and it is in a steady decline. He is a pillar in the community for everyone. He has helped the community join together to stop the violence, and he has coached the youth to keep them off the streets. Helping him restore his home will provide some joy to his heart, and it will also provide a safe place for him to rest. Please, your help will be greatly appreciated.
He lost his mother and father to illnesses he has no siblings only three daughters, one son-in-law, and seven grandchildren. His children are not financially stable to help him out. He is outgoing and stubborn. He plays a significant role in his community and in our lives but, it’s so hard to communicate with him because he doesn’t want to be a burden to no one. My father can’t have the family he wants because the house is not safe for the family to gather and enjoy during the holidays. It was not always like this. His mother died the week before Thanksgiving in 2011, and it tore us all apart. My father started filling the empty spaces in the house with stuff and equipment. I can’t stand to see him like this, but I can barely do anything for him. He helps a lot of people, but there is no help for him. I believe if he can get his home back. He will continue to coach Lil league sports and keep the community going better than ever, but most of all enjoy his family.

  49. As i look through these comments I see a lot of people that need help probably more then me but here goes. I have been working with my community for 5 years now to build a safe place for kids to go and play sports or to find someone they can talk to. The community I live in is very small and poor, but we have love for our kids. All the sports now fight for room to practice and the area the city has given us is big enough for 3 ball fields and soccer too. its hard to raise the money when your trying to fund the kids that cant afford to play or get the equipment they need to play. We have a lot of at risk kids and teen pregnancy is high because they don't have anything to do. The younger kids had a nice play ground until storms came through and blew trees over and messed it up for them. The kids of Spring City TN needs help.

  56. Dear Extreme Makeover crew, I am writing to nominate my sister for your awesome gift. If she knew I was doing it she would certainly give me a serious talkin' to. 🙂 Her name is Kim Richards. I am a little bias when I tell you that she is just a truly awesome person. She is the mother of 4, grandmother, wife of a Pastor. She is a giver. She will give you her time, her money, her "things", whatever you need to get you through. When her and her husband were first starting out they rented from a man who fell in love with their young family and eventually traded his house for their apartment (on the same property. As her grew older and frail he offered the property to them. This would be a good income for them given they could now be landlords, however, the dual apartment structure started falling apart and they couldn't keep up both structures. About 2 years ago her husband decided to try and fix things on his own within their house. He sent my sister and 2 nieces in the house away for what was supposed to be a week but turned into 6 month, only to return to a house that is in shambles. The only thing you can do is stand in the kitchen or hangout in your room. I'm sure that these repairs is what is making my niece's sick. I know this story is alot like the 6,000 others you'll read through and there is nothing really more outstanding about my sister's story than any of the others. I wanted to write because I feel she truly deserves the chance for someone who has the ability to help her to have the chance to hear about her. I know that if she was fortunate enough to be chosen for your program she would somehow find a way to pay it forward. Thanks for consideration and all that we see you do for others.

  57. Hi my name is Angel, I'm twenty-three with two kids a three year old named Zander and I have a baby girl on the way this month. I'm writing you today in hopes that you can help my mother and my family out of this situation that has been going on for almost 30 years now. Eleven years ago my parents got divorced and me,my mother and now sixteen year old sister moved into my great grandmothers house to be closer to family. This time was hard on everyone because during this time my great grandma had also past that year. So after the divorce and the move out here. Our problems were just getting worse for us between my mother working two to three jobs to make ends meet on top of paying the courts fighting my dad for child support. The house has slowly started to take a turn for the worse. The heater and air going out, electrical problems, a newly remodeled bathroom sink leaking and now for the past year the pipes under the house are bursting and water is going into the foundation of the house. It doesn't make it any better that the water is well water either. Two years ago I have my mother seven thousand dollars to help her fix the problem and it just keeps happening. Just the other day my mother tells me that the family has two choices either they try and fix it completely or they have to condemn the house and we have to move. This also doesn't help the fact that it's making my mother so sick that she might end up losing her jobs and I can't even bring my kids to the house to see their grandmother. So in my last and desperate attempt to help my family I write to and ask if you can come out and help us. This house has been in my mothers family for 30+ years now and we would all greatly appreciate it. Thank you.

  58. I am asking for help for myself and my family. I have become disabled due to chiari malformation, Ehlers danlos (a connective tissue disorder which causes daily joint dislocations), gastroparesis, neurogenic bladder, autonomic neuropathy, spina bifida, tethered cord, POTS which causes me to pass out, underwent many surgeries and have more to go through. Medical travel is expensive and hard to find appropriate health care. My young son is being tested this summer to see what he has inherited from me. Through it all, my husband has down everything possible to care for our every need, emotionally, physically and spiritually. We are currently renting a house that is not easy for me to help maintain or get around with my increasingly less mobility. We are a very close and happy family no matter what comes our way but it would be beyond helpful to receive help buying or fixing up a house that is not only more accessible to my son but would offer my husband and son a little room to bloom as well. I know there are many many worthy causes but I'd appreciate it so much if you could consider us. Thank you!

  59. 60. I have had to struggle on my own during my husband's incarceration twice. My children are young adults now, with one starting college in August and one trying to finish up cosmetology school. Another works split shift, usually 7 days a week, at a Humane Society for basically minimum wage. I have raised remarkable children who have had obstacles to overcome from minute one. I have lived my life for my children and have been here for my husband. I try not to ask for help from anyone, and try to help everyone who needs me. However, my home is deteriorating to the point of almost being unfit to live in, and I have given up hope of having a home that I can actually let people come into.

  63. Hi my name is Kendall and I live in a small town in Mississippi. My husband and I are hard working people with 4 children. My husband works 60 hours a week sometimes more to make ends meet. We live in an old mobile home that we purchased through a foreclosure but we have had so many problems with it and can't fix it. There are holes in the floor that we keep covered so mice and snakes can't get in. Our water heater fell through the floor and we have wiring issues that trip our breaker often. Every summer we struggle with keeping the air conditioner working to keep the house below 90. There is mold growing in our closet from an unknow water leak we had. Our shower is completely missing and with all the troubles we have we don't have the money to repair any of it and don't know what to do. A friend of mine suggested I ask here to see if there would be any help available to our family. Thank you for reading my post.

  65. Hello! My name is Jeanine. My husband is currently deployed overseas with the United States Army. We have 3 children all under the age of 4 years old.
Our home is a 900 sq ft., 2 bedroom ranch.
In 2008 my husband had bought this house from his parents when he came home from a tour in Iraq. He was trying to help his parents out, who originally bought this house to flip and sell but the market wasn't in their favor. We've had rodents, ants and God knows what in this house. In September 2014 when we had a rodent problem, I left with the kids and stayed at my parents house while my husband tried to take care of it. The problem is is that this house was made completely wrong! The sheet rock doesn't touch the ceiling throughout the living room. The Sheetrock doesn't touch the flooring throughout the rest of the house. Before my husband left for deployment in February he redid the siding of the house. While removing the siding and insulation the inner walls are covered in ants! He sprayed pesticides and did what he needed to do to seal it up. Unfortunately that didn't solve the issue. Since he's been gone and I have no one to help me here at home, I called the exterminator and he informed me when he came that our house will always have ant issues because there isn't enough foundation from the ground to the siding. The only way I've been able to control the ants along with the exterminator was by caulking all the molding and Windows. We can't sell this house because the house is worth less than what we owe on the mortgage. We can't afford to purchase a new home. We can't afford to raise the house or even redo the house completely. My 3 kids are in 1 room that's exactly 10' x 10'. We can't even fit twin beds in their room. I lost my job of 9 years, almost 2 years ago after I had my son. My husband, when home was working morning and night to try and cover the income we were missing. I've been working from home to help with some of the bills but not enough to fix this house. Please help us!

  68. Hi, my name is Christina. We are both on fixed income and we live in a old Victorian house that needs alot of work, currently having problems with our neighbors harassing us and we are to the point to where we can't let our 5 soon to be 6 children out to play in our yard in this beautiful weather with out them harassing them by taking pictures of them and trying to get them taken from us. We are also currently trying to get our property surveyed so that way we can get a privacy fence built to keep the nosy neighbors out of our business so that way we can lives a Lil more at ease, the prosecuting attorney isn't doing anything to help us at all. With the money that we have coming in we barely have enough to survive on with a family of soon to be 8. We don't usually ask for help, but If you could help us in any way it would be greatly appreciated.

  70. Hi my name is Davina I'm currently living with an amazing woman and her 9 year old son who basically saved my life! I have knowb here since I was 11 years old I'm now 19 years old. Basically long story short she used to be the registered manager to a care home I used to be in. I can't even begin to explain to you how much this woman has done for me if it wasn't for her I don't know where I would be in life! She has been there for me when my own flesh and blood has disowned me! She owes me nothing but yet she has given me everything she made me apart of her family. She took me in last year when I lost my home and I was homeless I was in an abusive relationship. She treats me like I'm her own flesh and blood and to me that means the absolute world to me. I could write a book with everything that she has done for me. She has made so many sacrifices it's not to say she has a lot of money she found it hard to provide for her and her sun baring in mind she's a single mum she took me in which added to her expenses massively and still she perseveres. It's just that's she has done so much for me and nothing would make me happier that to give her something back. I would like to do something for her as she so deserves it and I know that nothing would make her happier than to have a complete makeover she is currently living in a house that is like and unfinished project that she can't finish because of her financial situation. She has sacrificed making sure that her son and even I have a well furnished room and that we are both comfortable and leaves herself without anything at all she has is literally a bed in the middle of her room and that's it. I would love for her to have somewhere For when she comes home from work to relax and have some quality one and one time. She would never say anything to me but I can see that she really struggles but she always has a smile on her face and never let's it show. Please I'm begging I couldn't think of anyone more deserving than her. Thank you.

  73. Hello, my name is Shayna Thomas. I'm contacting you because I really need your help. My grandmother just broke my heart with her news. She has owned her home for over 25 years and it's finally time to give it up. She has put so much money into this just for it to turn out to still be nothing. She has been going through so much in her life. My grandmother takes care of everyone that she can. Right now she had my uncle living with her that was recently hit by a car and now he has brain injuries and her husband recently had a stroke and now he's disabled and can't walk of do anything on his own, also she's taking care of two other children that she's been watching for years. She only has a 2 bedroom home and it has completely fallen apart. She paid $600 to get her home fixed because the plates underneath her house have collapsed but all the could tell her was that it'll be $8000 to fix it which she can't afford. She does so much for everyone and can't help herself. She really deserves the world and I just want to help be able to give that to her. The house is full of mold and the floors are falling through. She's has no choice but to hold on to it because she has no money to find a new home. Her job has cut back her hours since she's watching her husband full time. I just really need someone's help and I won't give up.
