Im a freshman in Holland High school.My family and I are having to leave our home in Holland Texas we cant afford a home of our own that will hold everyone in my house so my mom and dad have invested to fix a old bar and turn it into a house for everyone. However, this bar is on very bad shape the ceiling has caved in and the wals are molded. Hi, I am a single mother of 4 boys that are all born in june exactly 8 days apart apparently my oldest son Jordan was born profound deaf and autistic. When i purchased our home a year ago Jordan immediately moved his bedroom in the basement and will throw fits i try to move him upstairs, the basement is partially finished and is need of more work like shower and bathroom that was taken away years ago. I begun some repairs in kitchen but everything became too expensive and with their allergies the mildew and mold im seeing from moisture is not safe. Hello, my name is Jennifer, wife and Momma of 3 from Ohio. My husband is on disability do to seizures and type one diabetes, and I am on disability due to bi polar and server anxiety. Our daughter has Mosaic Turner Syndrome. Our two boys are health and old enough that they are no longer living at home. We was lucky enough to be able to sale everything we had and use what little we had saved up to buy a fixer upper house just out side of town that had fire damage. We have been fixing it up slowly, we are now able to live in it. However since we are living in it money is tight. The home needs so much, there is no insulation, no drywall, no heating or duck work, no siding, and half the roof has been changed. We are living in one room of the house. My daughter sleeps on a love seat and me and my husband sleep on a air mattress on the floor. I'm begging for help to finish my house, to give my children a place to always call home, a place to feel safe. We need help!
my name is keith, and about 6 years ago i met my wife lola, this is the beginning of our story. our story starts like any fairy tail that you can imagine. we met in march of 2010 was pregnant by april of 2010 and married by august of 2010, no one believed that our marriage would last for 6 years because we had nothing to start with. neither of us had no jobs i couldn't find one at all. and my wife because of her disability could not find work either. in august of 2010 we had lost our first place just 9 days after we got married to a fire which you can find in the atlantic city press about the fire 30 displace after rooming house catch fire from hotplate. i should know on that night i had almost giving my life to save as many people as I could from the fire. my wife lola has told me about smelling fire in the room that we were in. I said it probalby was someone smoking or having a BBQ, then a few minutes later I smell the smoke so I looked out the window and below us there was smoke pouring out of the window below us. so I yelled to my wife to get out. so my 4 month pregnant wife lola got out of the house and I took her down the fire escape then I ran back into the building to get our cat who was hiding under some cloths. then I ran our cat down the fire escape to my wife. then I kiss lola and told her I loved here before running back into the building to bang on my neighbors doors to get them out. you can read about this in that report as well. so this started our long years of homelessness. we went from hotel to having a home to leaving because of an infestation of roaches which was making my wife and kids sick. to being seperated for 4 months to this time now. now our kids are in baltimore city with my mom, while we are sitting in the hospital. this year has been a really bad one for our family. my wife is now in the hospital diagnose with MDS which is a bone disease that is causing her body to not make healthy blood cells. if you ask anyone here they will tell you how we are as people and if you ask anyone in atlantic city about me. I have always help as many people as I can. and yet we just keep having these hard times. the reason why I am writing is my kids need there mom and dad and we need a stable home to put them in. we have been trying to move to baltimore where we can get our kids the medical treatment they need for their dis abilties as well as help for my wife now. so we are just asking if anyone can help us our only income is our kids social security. but I want to work. and our plans is one day help to feed the homeless. as well as open up an organization that really helps people find work. as well as families to find stabled housing like ourselves.
Hi my name is echo. I recently moved away from my family with my significant other. My dad used to work on the railroad with the Union Pacific company until he got diabetes and is living off of his disability checks. He lives on the Navajo reservation. We have built 4 houses within the time that he was working. He lives at least 30 mins from the nearest town. And there is a wash that seperates the main road to his house. All the houses were started but not finished. Because of no money he doesn't have a ride. His brother is lending him one for the moment so he can haul water. He has lived without electricity for over 21 years and has to make trips to town and purchase propane for our stove just so he can cook. And make daily trips to get groceries. So it won't get bad. There is more but it just makes me so emotional just to explain how he has lived like this for so long. He has been there for me through everything. And I don't have the money to give him the life he deserves. This would mean the world to me. I just want to surprise him and to know that i love him dearly
Hi, my name is stephanie and I have 2 boys 11 & 9. My 11 year old has adhd and odd. My youngest has ataxia and me as mom tring to do what I can as a sinle parent that has ataxic-cerebral palsy. I can do so much 24-7 and do the best I can. My youngest has his walker and a wheel chair and need a ramp for me and my son. It's getting hard on me and him, as my back is not helping. It hurts and I also have to help bath my son and it hurt my muscles. I would love if my son can have a bath/shower to help himself more with out keep steping over and may hrt ourselves and I would be able to halp with a necessity of railing for me to help him as well for himself. I live in my house 6 years now, that was built in the 40 and im guessing nothing got up grades and I have electical problems that scare me as well, I also havnt really got to paint all that much. I want to. I have mold in my bathroom that I try to clean but it keeps coming back and my pipes keeps cloging. Im looking for help please and with my ssi and what I want to do but with limitations, I just have a hard time I try to go beyond my limits at times but then I really hurt. I have tried to get employment for so many years. My mother who is turning 75 years this year bought a house for me and tried to renovate it but could not finish it because of money problems. Now I am left with an unfinished house and I could finish it if I had employment. So when it's raining the house rains, when it's windy, there's dust all over the house, the toilet I use is not finished and the plumbing is very bad. And everything in the house is not done properly and half done. But I am very grateful to my mother for getting me a house no matter how it is. I love it. But I really need your help to renovate it and make it a home, something I can leave for my three children a boy 11, a girl 9 and a boy 5 years.
My other wish is to get employment so I can be able to stay with my children and be able to get a drivers license and just live a normal life and be a mother to my kids.

This is actually for my mother and not me. The last year has been rough for her. Starting the day after my Dad's birthday in June of 2015 when he had a stroke. Shortly after her oldest brother went into the hospital and passed away. Then a couple of months later my 16 year old niece Justice was taken from us in a car accident and now just last week my father passed away. In less than a year she has lost 3 of her treasured family members. The whole time she hasn't complained just endured and has kept talking about how she would like to redo her house so that when she goes we wont be saddled with a house we can't sell. She deserves this and more and I wish as a family we could afford to just do it for her. She is going to use the money my father left her to do what little she can but I am afraid she is going to blow through it all trying to fix that crumbling house up and not have anything to save for herself for the future.
My name is Bonita Rivera and I grew up in a little rural town called Aliceville Alabama.I was raised by two very strong women. My grandmother the late Mrs Anna Mae Hinton retired from the Pickens County school District as a head cook. She never owned a car because she didn't drive so she walked the five miles daily to work and sometimes back. Ocassionally,people in the community would pick her up.Her motivation was family and paying for her four bedroom brick home that housed her mother who was in her eighties at the time, my mother, my aunt,my uncle and two of her grandchildren.My grandmother retired and became a volunteer care giver for her elderly uncle (who was a WWII veteran) and her sister who was bed riden. April 28,1991 my grandmother passed away on her seventy-first birthday. The torch for paying off this property fell into my mother's hand. My mother Denise Hinton has always worked and took very good care of me Bonita and my brother Lorenzo. In 2001, Denise first born Lorenzo Hinton was diagnosed with HIV and soon Denise had to leave her job and home to go to Birmingham to take care of him in hospice. In order to keep from losing the home due to no income, I took a contractor job in Kuwait to help support my mom,brother, daughter and my brother's only child. I was able to payoff the remainder balance on the house and support my family. In July 2007, i transferred into Iraq ,my brother passed in September 2007 after battling AIDS. Due to medical issues my mom has not been able to return to work. Living on a fixed income, remodeling is impossible but needed desperately. The house has withstood many adverse weather outbreaks (tornadoes and floods). Some of those storms made history. The house is literally falling apart. Blown off shingles from the storm left the roof exposed creating ceiling damage. The old eletrical reseptacles are failing. The paneling is very dark and drab . The closets are falling apart. The windows are outdated. The AC unit pulls too much power which kicks off the breakers. The heating unit malfunctioned years ago and she have to use ele trical heaters to warm the house and they trigger the breaker box. The kitchen cabinets are completely demolished . My mom received her income tax one year and hired a local minister and supposedly cabinet maker to redo her cabinets. She unfortunately, bought all the supplies and paid the labor. The contractor ruined the supplies butchered the cabinets and filed bankruptcy to avoid being sued. My mother lost everything and he had already removed the original cabinets leaving that area exposed. My mom always wish for money to remodel her home and I wish I could give it to her. I'm a disabled veteran struggling in my own home financially due to employment, I assumed the responsibility of raising my niece after the death of my brother. I am unable to finance this for her ,she deserves it. She watches your show all the time and often wishes she can be the recipient of your generosity, it will make her graciously happy.Im working hard to give her this wish while she is able to enjoy it,my mother will be sixty-five September 12. I am a mother of 4 who put 5 years in a company for 24 hr a day 12 on 2 off I ran this mand business in every aspect and was told I was locked in until in March he proceeded to cuss at me and stand over me in the office like he was going to hit me, when I took up for myself he fired me.I have since gotten help from my ex husband starting up a business he has tried hard to help as he raised my 4 kids when their dad wouldnt, My kids dad walked out their life years ago is currently in prison and owes 35000$ in child supprt.My oldest son Mikie 17 works and goes to school I have an 13 yo Jacob and twins Katie and Charles 12 yo I bought a doublewide a year ago with hopes of fixing it up but the more we try the more mold and costly things we find I was hoping to do more with a settlement from a bad car wreck the twins and I where in that flipped my new car 3 times and ai didn't even get enough to pay all my hospital bills. My driveway floods the dogs and pigs don't have a dry yard I need drywall and carpet and floors put in and have no clue of how bad the mold is which can make my kids deathly ill, but my hands are tied I bought a 2300 sf mold hole. My wife encouraged me to reach out on behalf of my parents Pam and Rick. My parents have been married 35 years and raised 6 children, they are both completely selfless and choose to help others before themselves. My mother Pam ran a daycare watching over and caring for anywhere from 6 to 12 children at a time and she did this for 28 years which can really do a number on your nerves:). My father served in the US military for 20 years and retired which does pay him however it is a modest paycheck each month. My parents both worked hard to give us kids exactly what we needed to sustain our own lives and 3 of my siblings dont show any appreciation for the lengths my parents went to be there for us. I am reaching out to ask for the opportunity to see my mom and dad finally have a completed home. You see they live in their cabin in Utah full time and they are both 67 years old which makes enduring the harsh winters very difficult, this past winter the snow completely destroyed a portion of their roof and deck and along with that their roof is failing so they have times throughout the winter when they have buckets to keep the dripping water inside the house at bay. My dad has servived cancer twice and had HEP C for nearly 30 year before finally having the most recent treatments done to cure him. Also he has deteriorating discs in his back and he recently fell and broke his femur, he and my mom spend a great deal of their time improving their cabin but it seems to never end and unfortunately my dad is not as capable as he once was. My brothers and i help when we can, however they live nearly 2 hours away so it is difficult to find the time to drive up there and really dig in to help. They live off of their social security and retirement from the Military so they do not have alot of money left over each month. Of course i am not sure what the requirements are to be on your show, nor do i believe that my parents are in a worse circumstance than many of the stories that i have read, i just believe that in my opinion my mother and father are truly deserving of a break and i can think of nothing that would warm their hearts more than being able to have a home that is completed so they can enjoy their remaining years without constantly having to fix leaks and replace the deck or the roof ect. I am writing not for myself, but for a very good friend. My friend John lives in Herndon VA. He comes from a long line of family that has served our country. John himself a Major in the US Army served in Afganistan. John is tough on the outside, but a generous man by nature. He would do anything for anyone.
John has been continually helping other fallen soldiers, by providing them with a place to stay till they get back on their feet. John himself went through a bad divorce right after his deployment. When he came home he had his two boys to raise also. John has been doing this for about 7yrs now.
The reason why I am writing you is because John is now finding himself drowning, literally. John bought his house after coming home from Afganistan. He & his boys live in the basement of his home, since he provides shelter to other soldiers in need of help. This has taken its toll on his house from all the wear & tear. John has been sinking all funds into his house to keep it liveable. I have always kept in touch with John. We met about 6yrs ago online. He of course lives in VA & I in PA. So because of the distance we became pretty much cell pals. Recently John called me late & sounded so depressed. When talking with him, he started to cry on the phone & said he was soon to give up. He went on to tell me that his house which is on the end of a caldesac keeps flooding because it sits at a lower level then all the other houses. He said he has fixed the gutters & has tried to fix the base of his house to no resolvement. He doesn't have a sump pump, or flood insurance because it's not in a flood zone. John says that there is black mold, mud & standing water in the basement & he is constantly trying to clean it up each time it rains hard. He is depressed also because his boys can't stay with him when this happens, so they stay with their mom. John also does a lot of his work at home in the basement. So when the downpours of rain happens, he can't even do his job at home for trying to keep the water from coming in & then the mess of cleanup.
John does not know that I am contacting you. I feel that if anyone & I am sure they're many whom out there that need your help, but I feel that he desperately needs your help. John is a man whom deserves something good given back to him.

Joyce Miller is a lovely lady that I’ve had the pleasure to have as a patient for over a year. I am her nurse.
Joyce has blessed me and touched my heart in so many ways. She is a lady of immense strength and character who has fallen into very hard times. Over a year ago, she became deathly ill and was told she needed a heart and double lung transplants. She spent months in the hospital and was sent home on IV heart medicine 24/7 to wait on a heart transplant. On evaluation for the transplant they told her she didn’t qualify because she had too much money- a burial plot and a small life insurance policy! She had no money and unable to work for a YEAR, and became DEEP in debt. For the first time in her life she took out credit cards, only so she could eat, buy gas, go to the doctor and just survive. Joyce has a disabled sister up north, but no one else. She is 59 years old. Her mom and dad have both passed away. Her brother who always helped her around the house died with cancer in 2006. Since that time, alone, broken, her home has become very much in disrepair. Her disability doesn't pay her bills. Presently, she even has no running water due to a problem with her well. Her electrical system in her home is to the point of her home being condemned. Her pipes are clogged with sand from the mal-functioning well. Her brother had been replacing her floors before he died, and they never got finished. There is only the base wood floor with no covering and in some places you can see the ground. Because she was in the hospital so much, her only companions who were left alone, her cats, ruined the place and she is living in deplorable conditons. She has broken windows. She has no place to go and physically can't yet help herself. She has more than $10,000 of medical debt alone and rising, a vehicle that won’t last, and repairs she can’t pay for. She needs flooring, and new pipes and wiring. She needs a home. Nothing plush or fancy, just a simple home.
As she approached death one day, I prayed. I assured her God would provide ALL of her needs if she would turn them over to him and trust him. She has. Little by little, small miracles started happening. Her health improved. So, she started walking, trying to get better. By God’s grace, she no longer needs lung transplants! So, a neighbor gave her a bike and she started riding. Now, she can ride, better than walk, and can go 5 miles. Because of that and trying to eat and live healthy, praise God she no longer needs a heart transplant! She is still on the heart medicine IV, 24/7, but is starting to be weaned off. She is very limited as to what she can do physically, but is improving and has started working a little from her home! I appeal to you to come along side of Joyce and help her. She is trying to help herself, but it is hard to see the way. Yet, she believes! She has hope now! She always has a smile and tries so hard to be independent, though there is so much she can’t do. She is a broken woman with a heart of gold and the will to live, work, gain independence, and wants to get to the point she can help others. Please help my friend, my patient. My heart simply breaks for her!
The reason I would love to be considered is I want to do this for my husband. He works so hard for our family he took on me and my two kids 7 years ago we were both single parents. My kids and I moved in next door our kids started hanging out with each other one thing lead to another and we got married. I appriciate him so much he took on a lot when he married me. I have a lot of health problems that keep me from working so he has all of the burden of taking care of the financial expenses. Our house is I guess a 3 bed two bath the room my husband and I share is the laundry room as well, our roof leaks in our room so much that we have no roof on the inside of our room we have plastic hanging up. My daughter either has to sleep in the front room or the makeshift room we made for her off the kitchen but it's barely big enough for a bed. A car hit her going 60 miles an hour she was ripped to pieces every bone in her body was broke, she lost part of her skull.
Her two little girls witnessed this horrific events! The first responders first labeled this accident a fatality. My sister was Airvac over two hours away to the trauma hospital in Tucson Arizona. The race began to try to save her life! She died a few times that day! But by the grace of God it wasn't her time! Thus beginning of a long painful journey of learning everything all over again.
My sister is my best friend and my other half!! I'm amazed every day at her strength and her will to survive for her babies.
She's a single mom of three with one child that has a disability.

I'd like to enter this for my family and I. My wife and I got married at 18 & 19 years old. We had a three bedroom trailer that seemed like the best home in the world when we moved in. We were married for a little over a year when we got temporary custody of four of her cousins children (January 2012). They were in a terrible situation and needed a home and love. We then got pregnant with our daughter and spent the last two months of the pregnancy in the hospital until the baby was born. During our hospital stay we were granted permanent custody of the children. The baby was born and we went home to begin our lives as a family of seven. (March 2013)
Twenty four days after her birth we lost our home to a house fire. It was very early on Easter morning. Thankfully she and the kids were all at the sunrise service at our church when it started. Her brother noticed the fire and came in and got me out as I was asleep, but our little dog didn't make it out.
We lost everything! We had just had a nursery built into our little home for the baby and lost it all.
We are living in a three bedroom double wide now.
She's pregnant again we are thinking about trying to add a room like we did before but it's going to be really hard financially. We would love to have a nice home so that our children could have there own rooms or have more space than they do now.
We have five soon to be six amazing children that would love this amazing opportunity. The four older children have been through so much and are thriving to do good in school and get over there past. we became parents at a very young age but wouldn't change a thing about either one of our children. Well where do i start my mom has been through so much in her life she has always been a loving and caring mother to all of her children all her life she always gave to others when she barley had for herself even till this day she is still the same in the last twenty years or so she has suffered alto of grief first she lost her son our brother that was back in nineteen ninety seven that really took a tool on her fiziqually and financially she has always paid rent all her life even if she hardly has any money left she always thinks of others now in two thousand five she lost her life partner our father seconding solano these two were inseparable as our father got older he started developing signs of alzymers and parkensens disease that left my mother taking care of our father until he passed but by gods grace our mother still kept up with her children no matter what now in two thousand fourteen her granddaughter my daughter Christian passed away aswell she had a blood disease that took her life at twenty six we all took it very hard but our mother took it the worst because she loves her grandchildren with all her heart and soul well it got to the point where our mother became very sick aswell in two thousand ten she herself was diagnosed with breast cancer we as her children would have never thought that mom would get sick on us she went through so much kimo that damaged her lungs now she is on oxygen four litters and that's alot but by the grace of god she had the strength to beat this disease although she had to loose her left breast she is still living and still doing for her family and we r so thankful to god that we still have her with us us brother and sisters have always prayed that god would give her a house of her own Cruz like I said she has for forty five years has been paying rent we her children would love to see her in her own house before she leaves this world and financially it has taken a big toll on her so we all pitch in to try to help her with all her bills by the time she pays all her bills she lucky to b able to at least buy her some clothes so please ty it would b the greatest gift to our mom that she would have her own house for once in her beautiful life and live the rest of her life happy she is a loving and giving mother we r truly blessed with her she is our foundation she keeps this family together

I got diagnosed with epilepsy and possibly have a brain tumor. So with this being said my fiancé is out of work to take care of me and our son. We are in disparate need of a home. Hi my mother is in a desperate need of a home makeover. She lives in the town of Conshohocken Pennslyvania. About 2 months ago my mom found my father dead in their room. He died of a heart attack. We want to keep my mom in the house but money is tight since my sister and I have our own families and bills. The whole place needs to be redone. My mom just doesnt have the money since my dads life insurance didnt kick in until a month after he died and my moms insurance didnt cover because it was a cardiac arrest not a heart attack. Well hello, my name is Bonnie R. Lindgren, I'm 23 years old and live with my parents and two younger brothers, in Weed Ca. Since I was 3 years old, my family had been homeless. Living in some places for no longer than a year and a half. Then a small miracle happened, an apartment complex allowed a family of five to live in a two bedroom apartment. Things were going great! Then, my mom fell… six years ago my mom was making dinner in the kitchen when she suddenly fell. She had broke her hip is such a way that she needed what the doctors called the 'Straight pin and wonky screw”. Now for most people recovering from a broken limb should be easy. But with her existing illnesses such as PTSD, Brittle type 1 Diabetes, plus undiagnosed osteoporosis, an some old injuries from when she was young began to snowball. Her muscles began to atrafee quickly and now she can't walk. The apartment we live in isn't conducive for a wheel chair. We can't even get my mom into the bathroom to shower, we need to sponge bath her. She's has renal kidney failer, OPD, and heart problems to top the cake. After he heart attack a year and a half ago she began to go down to Redding 3 times a week for dialysis to filter off the water weight she retains. When a person on dialysis stops being able to urinate, that means that the their time is running out. It could be a month from now or a couple years, but its soon enough to scare my father. Speaking of my dad, he's always been the pillar of strength, but with my mom's heart attack, he just doesn't know what he'll do when she's gone. His health in the last two years have gotten worse. He can't walk down the parking lot to pick up my Autistic littlest brother. He has gout, OPD, and a plethora of injuries he didn't go to the doctor about back when he was younger coming back to haunt him. Sadly this isn't the only things that have been the cause of my father new hair color. Zackary is my 16 year old Autistic littlest brother. He can't communicate very well and basically the only way to communicate with him is yes or no questions or to figure out what he means when he echos something. Zack can't tack care of himself like a normal 16 year can, so my 57-year-old father does. Luke, my recently 18 2nd oldest brother has been a help to, with being a pseudo messenger and gofer. Though I have given up a lot to help take care of my family, such as collage and work, my parents have done so much more, in mine and my brother's childhood to make sure that even thought we were homeless or hotel hopping, that we were happy and healthy kids. Now at 23, I want to give back to my parents. I have been saving up for a small piece of property in our county, but with the financial trouble and the only jobs I can get are babysitting is tough. I know this is a shot in the dark, but in the 1% chance that I could be chosen, please, help me, help my family, just so my mother will be a little more comfortable before she goes.
My foster mother is a woman who is fighting bone cancer and has been for over a decade. Before she was diagnosed she owned and operated a group home for troubled teens on the White Earth reservation here in Minnesota. Hard to say, she had to close the group home because of funding.
She later applied for a foster license and has been taking children into her own home until a fire forced her to buy a trailer house out on a lake just outside the town of White Earth.
Needless to say,the house isn't efficient enough for to continue to help the children on the Reservation. Howevet,she still takes care of her grandson-Avery.
The trailer has an addition but wasn't butted up correctly so she has a leaky roof and most of the three bedrooms are unfinished. The floor is totally sinking on one side due to water run off from the hill behind the house. We keep trying to make repairs,but due to the poor economic growth on the reservation we aren't able to afford the proper materials to keep the house up to code.
I've watched your show since 2004 and I've seen the incredible work you guys can do. I've always dreamed of being able to get your show up to Minnesota and on the Reservation to help a deserving woman who has given so much of herself to the Native children on the Reservation. My husband is a fireman/paramedic on this department as well and they were very good friends. Mike not only left behind his wife Maureen, but also their 5 year old daughter Emma. This family is absolutely amazing and has undergone a great deal of pain. Maureen and Emma have such wonderful support from family, friends, and the entire fire department. I use to watched this show when i was younger i adored it an watching how excited people got and how blessed they are to have had help from you and God. I never imagined i would ask anyone for help because i always got my happiness from giving. That was until my world got flipped. It started in october of 2012 when my 14 year old sister dorothy boone killed herself. It was due to being bullyed in school and i came home from school and found her. After that my parents and my church started a program called dorothys christmas wish. I have been a big part od it for 4 years now.My parents tell how others about the love of God and how we, including dorothy loved helping people. And offer to help them if they can not afford a christmas for there kids. The programs is ran by my church accepting donations and using that to buy kids clothes toys and a new bible for christmas then the parents come to pick up the gifts and we pray with them. Last year in madisonville ky we gave around 80 kids a christmas. It has been rough this year because its the year Dorothy would have graduated. Since then i have also been a coleader with girlscout with my mom helping girls to get into a organization that will help them grow into responsible young women. Last year i got engaged to the guy who has been with me through it all even when i found my sister passed away in the room next to mine at the time.it seemed like that day the world paused. Me and matt(my fiance) moved intogether thinking we could have a normal life but didnt relaize how hard we was going to struggle to do that. We moved into a real old house thats to the point where it cant be fixed. He was 19 when he got it from a family member with not a lot of nowledge on it an regrets it everyday.i feel bad for hum but im going to be here for him like he was for me.i would love to win anykind of makeover so me and my fiance could actually have a home. Were currently in a old house that is sinking in so the floors dont touch the walls you can see into the next rooms.it wont hold heat so we freeze in the winter times. And asoon as we finally get enough saved up to get one thing fixed another thing brings us down. Weve replaced the toilet part of the roof someof the floors tried painting had to get new appliences….ect.We both work long hours but never make enough for a good living or to get the house up to a decent living enviroment. I work with veterans. I adore my job. I have worked with them for 4 years now doing NASR work which is like cna work and also house keeping.i can be exhausting and get really emotional and stressful. From the house to my job its a 30 min. Drive but i would do it all over again for them they are all my family and i try not to let them down. Its like i have 89 grandpas that i care for everyday. And still make church on sundays. I dont have a computer so i cant see when this contest is but itd be wonderful to have a house like everyone else thats alteast normal and livable.i know everyone starts somewhere so anykind of foot in a door would be much help. Hello My name is Megan Johnson I am writing you in reference to my dad and my 6 younger brother and sisters. My dad Marcus Collick ( he is not my biological dad however is the biological father of my brothers and my 8 year old sister, he is the only father that me, my 17 year old sister and my 15 year old sister have ever had) he stood up and saved us and took us in as his own when our biological father will not have anything to do with us. My mother is incarcerated and instead of us being motherless and fatherless Dad ( Marcus) kept us all together and treats us no different then his own. There is 8 of us total. Marcus has to boys by another lady that he has had custody of since they were under 3 years old. one of them is 20 his name is Marcus Jr. and he goes to Barclay Christian College in Havilland Kansas and his other son Markeze is 16 years old he graduates from Pocomoke High School next year and he is in the hotel/ motel management program and will be graduating with honors he is a leader in the church ministry, Then My mom has Me which I graduated last year from Pocomoke High school I am 20, My other sister Destiny she is 17 and graduates next month from Pocomoke High School, my other sister Mikayla she is 15 and goes to Pocomoke high school, she is on the dance team at our church, very smart beautiful talented quiet young girl, then my younger brother DeAndra he is 12 he is only in the 5th grade he is in special education he has a few learning disabilities he was born in John Hopkins Hospital and was born without a diaphragm he was on life support came home when he was 6 months old with a feeding tube, oxygen, and has had at least 5 surgeries the doctors never thought he would eat, walk, talk or do anything but he is doing all that he just has a speech impairment from the breathing tube and his hearing impairment, he is a lot smaller then other kids his age and he can not play contact sports but other than that he is a miracle baby he is not biologically Marcus' child but him and my mother were together when she was pregnant and my dad ( Marcus) stayed in the hospital never left his side but to take a bus back home to go to work and then bus back to be by their side to see them react with one another the bond is just amazing, then my mom and Marc have Isaiah age 11 together and Emily age 8 together all of the kids beside my 20 year old brother ( well step-brother but we don't consider our self stepbrothers or step-sisters or Marcus our step father or he doesn't consider us his step kids) they are our brothers and we are their sisters Marc is our dad and we are his kids ALL OF US!) however Marcus Jr. is the Only one that doesn't live at home. I have a 3 month old baby girl she was born in February she was hospitalized in Children's National Hospital in Washington DC due to a heart condition she had open heart surgery she is now home and doing very good. My dad was there with me the entire time, never left my side helped me get through the situation and if it wasn't for him I don't know where any of us would be and if we would have not grown up with all the lives lessons and values that he has instilled in us. I know it has been a struggle for him being a single parent to eight kids. I am writing this letter to see if you can please lead me in the right direction or tell me what resources I can contact to help our dad he has helped us and so many others and now I want to help him. We have lost our home and have to be out in 30 days it wasn't the best house but it was ours and it was big enough for us. My mother and poppop was the names on the home, my mother isn't here and all my dad knows is that we have to move and leave the house because it was foreclosed. I have seen him work and work to the point where he is not physically taking care of his self. we try to work and help him. I don't know where to turn to I don't want my family separated and torn apart he is all we have and we are all he has with my brother having medical conditions he cant live with people that don't know how to take care of him. it would kill my dad to lose us and it would devastate my siblings to lose him. he doesn't deserve to be punished he has done more than our biological parents have done. he works sometimes 6 to 7 days a week, side jobs If he can find them but he has a fulltime job monday- friday then after work he does, homework, baths, dinner, school meetings, after school activities, church functions, field day , field trips, the girls hair, bills, grocery shop EVERYTHING. Fathers day is coming and we would love to be able to find a program or resource that could help us help my dad for once. PLEASE HELP

The house we live in had been around since the 1940's its a family hkuse they built it on private grounds i live with my aunt and uncle my aunt health is bad so sometimes its hard for her to go to work the doctors says she will be going blind in a few years. The house is so old its literllay falling apartt with us in it. The hot water heater stop working like every few months we bought a new one but it still stops working alot my biggest fear living in this house is that a tornadoe or something will come and by the house being so old we will die due to lack of protection i sleep in the living room i wish i had my own room im 13 ive been living in the house with them since i was 2. I honestly don't know why my house needs a makeover. My father, Mother, sister, brothers and I haven't really had anything to be exicited about in our lives. We have all been looking for ways to bond and have a good time with each other, but our house just isn't big enough. Together there are six of us that stay in a 3 bedroom home with 1 bathroom. Just think for a second the inconvenience we must be having, all I want to be able to do is have my own room and give my parents something to love each other for again. I would like to see the house i live in with my friend and her dad have some remodeling done. It is in such bad shape. The roff is in really bad shape. It has several leaks and is starting to sag. There is also some holes in the sheet rock that i would like to see fixed. My friends dad is a truck driver and works very hard. He takes care of his family and gave me a place to stay and feel safe. i would love to make them happy and give them something for all the help and support they have given to me. I dont know where to even start at. My mom and dad are the best people ever they will let people live with them and feed them, they will give what ever they have to help people out, well my dad lost his job 2 years ago from health he has a bad heart and just a couple months ago he lost his mom and they paid for that, even know they didnt have the money too, me and my brother moved back in to help out them, with our family so there is 13 people living in one house and we only have one bathroom, my mom is the hardest working lady there is, she works 10 hours and then comes home and cooks food for all 13 of us, we try to tell her to not too, but it doeant get us far.All i hear from my dad is that he wish he could give her a bigger house or fishes the projets he started but he cant, i wsh somebody could help them out for once. plz
We have a town teen center that is is need of some repairs, plus the games and some of the other stuff is out dated. My daughter goes there some days and it gives her time with kids around her age, plus it helps keep some kids from doing crazy things. They have been closing the center early and only opening on Saturdays because of the repairs. I know this is for Home Makeovers, but a Teen Center Makeover would be great.
My son and his Ex wife bought a home from her grandmother . The home is older he divorced 1 year ago the home was suppose to be fixed by his ex and sold. This did not happen. She and her new partner did nothing but make the home worst. He can't sale it because of equity loan she did not pay house won't sale for amount owed!! The walls had putty spread on it and painted over. Rips in the floors all door knobs removed wallpaper torn off wall in master bathroom. The home as is will never sale and needs a lot to be a good home. My husband and I paid to have one room sheet rocked and the rest painted. Bathrooms are 4×5 very small need new floors, toilets and tubs. All floors need replacing and really home needs to be brought up to date. Windows on home need replacing and some trees removed. He has 3 small children that deserve a better home!

Always helping out when he was needed and even when he was not. He was the type of man that would give you the clothes off his back if he seen you in need. I as one of his serving family members along with Aunts, Uncles, cousins and other family members would love to keep the house in the family, but its in very bad condition not even having a cooling and heating system in the home. I know that the people in the community of Kalamazoo MI will agree with me that my grandfather Elder John A Roden was a pillar of the community he was a strong person and did a lot for his community as well as his city. I know that he is gone now, but you can save his house for us and give us something to remember. I know that he would love to see his house being made out to be the beauty that we all know it deserves.
Hey, my name is Hailey my fiance(20) and I (19) are living in his grandmothers house (that she has lived in ever since she was a child herself), along with his uncle(40), his uncles girlfriend(40),both his grandparents(67-77), his sister(23), her daughter(4), her boyfriend(23), their little brother(9), and lastly his cousin(15) (this being a 3 bedroom). The house is so old the floor is literally caving in. There is a huge gap in between the wall and the front door because since the floor is caving in the whole house is slanted. The electrical part of the home is so old the breakers flip constantly. There is a huge whole in one of the bedroom floors from where it completely gave out. Most of us sleep on chairs or couches. There is a huge whole in the side of the house leading underneath it, allowing opossums to come in as they please through the bathroom floor. There are cracks in all the walls and the ceiling. And so so much more. His grandmother and I are the only 2 with jobs so there is no way we could afford to support everyone, get groceries, and have even a small amount left over for anything. There is so much wrong with the house it self we could never imagine being able to afford the repairs. Please help….we are way too crowded, lower-middle class wadges, and a huge family in extreme need. Your help would seriously change our lives.
hi my name is amanda and i live in lupton city tennessee we live in a fixer upper and just dont have the funds to fix it up anymore. we have four kids and one on the way and my mom is still trying to pay off the morgage and my husband is on disability and he had to pay his mom most of his money. my house is fallening apart. my kids have and my mother have to share a room due to it is only a two bedroom house and the electric is not that great it is actually piggy backed in the breaker box and the electri cant handle alot of things we dont
have heating and air either so in the summer we have to have all the windows open and hope that we get cool air and in the winter we only have a small heater that doesnt work very well to room up only one room and if we run the heater in the winter we cant run anything else but the tv.we desperatly need professinal help but cant afford it. i am begging for help so i and my family can live in our home and not have to worry bout whats going to fall apart next and how we are going to fix it without the money.

Aproximently 9-10 years ago I moved to my current location in Bismarck Arkansas to care for my late grandfather,Mr. Huey p. Tyler. He passed about 3 years ago. At the time of moving here to care for him I dropped my entire life because no one else would help him.my job,car everything. One year ago this past Christmas me and my fiencee were at work and our room mate was home.she blowed up his phone saying our house was on fire…we rushed home and all there was everywhere was fire trucks…flames were through the roof but luckily cement walls and foundation saved the house mostly besides the fast response of fire dept. This place is my life. My uncle gave me the place about 2.5-3 years ago. As I said this place is my life my home my everything…currently we r living in the house because we have no where to go to and have been for a yr now. No power no water leaking roof with only a couple pieces of tin over the whole.we have tried everything possible to get help to rebuild my home and are getting no where at all.financially we can not afford it at all…idk what to do or where to turn…this is all I can think of…..please…if not I understand but please help me regain my home,my life and all back…my fiencee has trigeminal neuralgia and I'm in with a lot of doctors trying to get my health fixed as well. My name is Marquise, I am currently a rookie with the Houston Fire Department. I come from a household of 7 siblings same father and mother who made ends meet to feed us. In Approximately 1979 with 3 kids, my father had an motor vehicle accident on the freeway and died at the hospital. Fortunately they were able to bring him back to life and he received about a 400k settlement with the insurance company. Within 3 years the bank put a freeze on his account and he lost everything except the house that he paid cash for his mother to live in (Now his current residence). He was placed on disability and had to provided for his 7 children with the money the government awarded him. My parents took in cousins and friends growing up and allowed them to stay with us in hard times. Now, the house run down, he hasn't been able to pay the property taxes, possums are living in the attic, the kitchen and restroom are out of order, and it is hard for him to maneuver around due to symptoms that are consistent with Agent Orange (and my mother is a hoarder) Every sibling had a friend who had hard times growing up who can testify to the love that my parents showed them growing up. My mother lost her job with Transport Security Administration a few years back because she hurt her back on the job and was placed on light duty. She has since suffered anxiety attacks and haven't been able to find work. There small house sits on a lot of land. They are currently taking care of my sister who need a kidney implant, and I have a brother who received a liver transplant earlier this year. Neither of them are able to work because of illness. We are a happy family going through a trying time, but are laughter keeps us going. My parent will celebrate 47 years this August.

The home is an old colonial style home with a unique layout and structure. As I’m sure you know Savannah is a city with a lot of history and Bethany Campbell knows almost all of it. She has spent most of her life educating visitors and people in the community about the history of our great city. One of her favorite sayings is, “You must remember so you never forget, we gain wisdom from our past and education for our future!” She does local and national tours and is a lover of education and people. She is a historian and storyteller that always has open arms and kind word for anyone that she meets. I regret that, as beautiful as a person that Ms. Bethany is she never takes time for herself. She is always volunteering in the community! She lives on marginal means; because she loves being free to help others! She has convinced herself that she can restore the family home at 515 Seiler St. by herself. I have known Ms. Campbell for almost 20 years and she is well into her 60’s now. She has given so much to others; it would be great if something was done for her. Ms. Campbell has no biological children of her own, but she has raised and mentored dozens, and I am one of them. She helped me heal and get back to life after a tough divorce in 2003. Please Help! The community in the empty lot next to her would just be a bonus and an asset for her to do what she loves and that is helping people. Hi there I'm reading all these comments and everything my family is going through dosent seem so bad but this is my story we have never had much but wheat I do have is a amazing grandma she has always been there for me she's been my rock when I was younger she got lung cancer and that broke me but being the amazing and strong person is she pushed through it. When I was 18 me and my mom had a falling out I and i moved out. My mom ended up with my grandma and aunt (my grandma's sister) move in with her not long after that my grandma was diagnosed with colon cancer the doctors said she wouldn't make it through that cancer it's was the worse moment of my and her life but thank the Lord she made through that as well but with my grandma and my aunt need someone to care for her my mom couldn't work so at 20 I moved back in being the only one working I'm taking care of everything all bills are my responsibility. The house we live in it belongs to my cousin and that's who I'm buying if from but the house was built in the 60 it's kinda falling apart at this point it's wasn't in good shape when my mom moved in now it's me my mom my grandma my aunt and my dad living on a 3 bedroom house that need a lot of work and we have no way of paying for it or any hope of getting it fixed. All and all I don't want this for me I want my grandma to have a house that she can live in and not worry about anything breaking she deserves a food home to live in so if you guys decide to pick us I'm just letting you know It would be the best blessing in the whole world the you for reading my comment and God bless
My name is Debra Hatley and I live in Indian Trail, NC. My father is retired military. He served in the Korean War with the Marine Corp for 17 months. Then he went in the US Navy and served 26 years, he served on aircraft carriers. So he was at sea 6 months at a time. He has copd and is hard of hearing, due to working on airplanes. He is in deep debt, because of repairs on our cars and other needs. He is 85 years old and works part time at Advanced Auto to try to get out of debt. I work at Wal-Mart as a cashier. My mother was a CPA, but she died from brain cancer in 2000. Her death caused my fathers finances to go bad. He has also helped multiple members of the family financaly. I provide health insurance for my daughter who works as a waitress, because her employer is small and does not provide health insurance. She would be penalized, because of Obamacare. God has been very good at my dad. My dad has been dealing with Emphasema for over 15 years. If you could lift some of the burden off of my fathers shoulders, it would make his final years that much better. I have various debts, such as owing the hospital $5000.00 for going to the emergency room when I fell down on ice and hit my head. I was not even admitted, that is because they did a CT scan on my head.

Hello my name is Joseph I am a licensed electrician and my wife is a cna we bought are house three years ago and have been making little improvements each year! I have a 17 year old son and recently my daughter came to move in with us who is going on 16. We were planning on doing some things to her room and around the house before my son ended up in the hospital with TENS a more severe case of Steven Johnson Syndrome it covered 90% of his body and we are grateful to have him back home with us! He was in the hospital for almost 2 weeks and they were amazed at how fast his body healed at childrens hospital! He was released out of the hospital yesterday 5/16/16 and is ok thank God. We have aquired roughly $300,000 in hospital expenses because of the roller coaster ride in the hospital. He had to be treated by the burn unit and dressed like a mummy and spent a couple days in the ICU. He has great spirits and is a happy person and never been in the hospital. The staff at Childrens Hospital Aurora loved him and his sense of humor He is very smart taking AP classes in high school. We work hard to maintain our home and sometimes unexpected things happen. Steven Johnson syndrome awareness is in August and to have you guys help us fix our home would be a blessing and to be able to give Gabe something awesome he does deserve instead of something that he didnt deserve! I have never been so compelled to write for something, until I got the horriblemail news about my former high school teacher. We had kept in touch through friends and facebook, and let me tell you she is one of a kind. She has the best heart, a huge sense of humor, and lobes her family and friends. She has been married for 25 years and had 2 college kids. This April, while at school, she suffered a seizure out of the blue. They rushed her to the hospital and found a brain tumor. She had some emergency surgeries, spent time in the ICU, and is now in rehab. She has lost feeling in her left side and cannot move it. (Doctors hope.it will come back at some point). In the meantime I order for her husband to be able to take care of her at home she will need a wheelchair ramp, some reconstruction on the main floor, and bedroomy construction to allow her to have a hospital bed. Her sister is currently raising money to try to have this done, and the support from her former students, family, and friends is overwhelming. A house makeover would not only help her and her husband emotional and physically, but would allow her home to feel like a home, not a hospital. I can truly think of no one more deserving.

She recently lost her husband of 54 years almost 3 months ago and was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer & stage 2 bone cancer. She has been in and out of the hospital since her diagnoses which was also about 3 months ag . She is staying with her sister right now because her home is not suitable to live in with her sickness. She is one of the most sweet, humble and God fearing women that I know and absolutely everyone that she has come in contact with loves and adores her. I know that my grandmother is no better that anyone else who is applying and someone else may have it worse than she but she just wants a nice home that she can call home before she dies and in my eyes I can't think if a more deserving person. Bruce Leakey is his name. Raising children is his game. My father is the most astounding, hardworking, bullheaded man I have ever come to know. For a man who has gone through so much, from breaking his back working on an oil rig, having his knee replaced, breaking his back, and raising five children, he has now had to start over. After a horrible accident that left my baby niece Emma with six broken ribs, a broken chest plate, and a fractured skull, her and her sister were put into foster care. My father and mother were not having it. They fought DHS in a major custody battle. After spending every penny they had, and going into major debt, we thought for sure the battle was lost, but my father rose to the challenge. After lots and lots of prayer, using every resource he could muster, with the help of the good Lord, they beat the odds and won the battle. They adopted my two nieces and my nephew, making them my brother and sisters. They are now living in the small town of Cecil AR. My mother Sharon has been as hardworking as my father. As a CNA she never calls in, works overtime, and in 2014 was announced CNA of the year at Greenhurst Nursing Home in Charleston AR. The home they currently live in was at one time condemned, but my father, rising to get another challenge, nearly rebuilt it from the ground up. He has worked hard and his effort is paying off, but there are several aspects to the home that need redone. I love my father dearly. He has been my rock through hard times, and has saved me from several horrible situations. I do what I can to help when I can, but I am not financially able to do the things for him that I wish I could. I no my father well enough that even with a broken back he will give the world to his family, even if it hurts him. In his life he has worked hard enough that he deserves a chance to enjoy his life and his family without the stress of his house not being complete. I am now teaching out to you. Please consider this man who lives by the word and lives God, who has worked so hard for everyone around him to the point of excruciating pain, this man who deserves something in return. My name is Sarah. My story is about my 4 year old grandson Zak who's life will be a normal one, along with his mother, my daughter. My grandson is diagnosed with multiple disabilities such as West Syndrome, Celebral Palsy, Global Development Delay as well as Epilepsy, and many others. It all started when he was a month old when the seizures took control and caused serious damages to the brain which left him in major conditions. The doctors say West Syndrome is known to be the most difficult to treat and that we shouldn't have any hope and that my grandson wouldn't make any improvement. Zak doesn't do anything that a normal 4 year old does, he's dependent. He's unable to sit without support, he does not walk, crawl, communicate, make eye contact, or even hold onto a toy. He doesn't eat well either therefore Zak is undergoing surgery on the 1st of June for a PEG insertion. My daughter isn't able to work to support her child's need therefore I am the sole support in the house of 7 family members. The little that I earn I'm grateful for, it's brot food on the table for my family. We have learned to accept what God has blessed us with And we love him. I pray that God amswers our prayers
Hi! I am reaching out for my brother and his family. He is 29, was born deaf and has ushers (an eye disease, which could potentially leave him blind). His wife is 34 and also has some hearing loss, which causes them trouble finding jobs. No one wants the liability issue to provide them with jobs. My sister in law is working part time with blind people, bringing them to doctors appointments and other stuff. They have 3 children ages 16 year old boy, 7year old girl, and a 4 year old girl. They are living in a double wide trailer next door to me with only 3 bedrooms. They are out growing their home and they fight with mold, their roof recently was leaking and rotting, they have pipes that leak under the trailer. The house smells horrible and they cannot find the source to it all. The kids stay sick all the time and I am afraid that the mold will cause more problems. They struggle to make ends meet with bills and grocery, when they have to spend money to fix their house it really puts them in a bind. I am just reaching out to see if there is anyway they could have a dependable home to live in because I know they will never be able to afford it on their own.

In 2007 my father sustained 2nd and 3rd degree burns to his upper body and face. At the time, my newborn son and I were living with him while I finished college. I have since married and he now has 3 wonderful grandchildren who adore him. He is a devoted grandfather and father, always putting us first. Anytime we need something fixed he comes to our aid to keep us from going without because we can't always afford to pay to have things repaired or replaced. He is the grandpa that drives 2 and 3 hours away multiple times a weekend to watch his grandson play a baseball tournament because he can't afford a hotel and won't stay in a room with us. Since he was burned he has worked for himself helping others around the community when they electrical or plumbing problems. He has spent hours over nights working on the city's water issues when there is a problem. He has resolved electrical issues for a man who has adopted 8 disabled children out of foster care, to give them AC and prevent their home from catching fire (who also would be a great candidate for a home makeover). He is one of the smartest and selfless men I have ever met. But his own house is falling apart and he can't afford to fix it. His roof has leaked, despite his relentless efforts to patch it, so much that over time half of the living room ceiling has fallen in and mold is rampant. He has come to living in only his bedroom of the house, using the kitchen as necessary. The flooring under the kitchen sink will collapse at anytime due to being rotted out. There are holes from roof leakage in multiple bedrooms. When it rains outside,it is raining inside, but it pours into the living room. He has barrels set up in the living room that he must empty regularly to keep the floor from flooding.
I miss my dad. My kids miss their grandpa. I can't bring my small children up there to visit him because he lives in a health hazard. He lives alone with his dog who is his right hand. His living conditions will eventually land him homeless or in the hospital. He needs his house fixed. His mom, my Granny, lives an hour away and is extremely close to being in position of needing to move in with him. He is an only child, he is all she has. Physically she in good shape, but age is taking a toll on her memory.
Everything he owns is paid for,but in very poor condition. Truly I don't know how he gets by, but I know that he would sacrifice everything he has for us. We–my husband, my brother, and I–wish we could fix his house for him. For him, for our kids, for my future nieces or nephews. My brother has even said that if his living conditions don't change he may not be around to see his (my brother's) kids when and if he has any. We have kept him in our prayers and asked our church to pray with us for his trailer to be fixed. When we saw this online, we thought "it can't hurt to ask." Thank you for your consideration. Even if he isn't selected, we would like to ask that you join us in praying for him.
We have a two bedroom trailer that seven sometimes eight people are trying to live in together and there it not that much room. And my father in law died on April 25, 2016. we are buying the land were we live and the youngest on that lives in the trailer has had two seizers day after my father in law her grandfather died.
