  1. Hello my name John Black my wife is Barbara Black. she is handicapped with RSD (Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy) which is a narrowing of the nerves which causes fire like pain most of the time. This RSD will not go away, she will always have it.she has helped many elderly people out over the years she use to work with the elderly in assisted care homes and in there homes also. She also has been having nerve blocks for her back from a car wreck that somebody turned in front of us and for her RSD legs She is volunteering at Gulf Coast Hospital in Ft. Myers, Fla. We as a family have volunteered at Ft. Myers. Rescue Mission for many Years. Helped in their early years of building projects. For the first director of the Ft. Myers Rescue Mission. We have helped feed the homeless on the bus ministry for many years; She has volunteered until she wasn't able to do it any more because she uses a Mobility Scooter now to get around better. She is presently taken Aqua Therapy and Physical Therapy,She is unable to stand for very short period of time because her legs are unable to. Our home is not made for the handicapped. The PT told her she should be in a motorized wheel chair right now but she is strong willed and wants to stay on her feet as long as she can; she uses a walker at times for short distances. I have heart condition where I can't help her to much because I can only lift approximate 20 lbs my cardiologist has told me this. I have also miss a lot of my work because of this.I have to lift her feet into bed and into the car. Her Neurologist has said she can't drive any more unless she has the vehicle equipped so that she can drive again;and it cost to much for our limited income she has very limited reflexes in her legs. She likes to be doing thing for others but can't. We need a home that she can take showers since the bathroom isn't accessible so she can only take sponge baths for over a year now. I like to see her in our home that she can get around and she can cook again she likes to do this and can't do this right now because of the appliances aren't to accessible for her to do any cooking, our son has to do this. Plus our son is looking for a job so he can help us out more but he can't find one at this present time. There is a lot that she would like to do if she could. My wife likes to get around; and not to be dependent on others to get her to her doctor appointments and to physical therapy . My wife likes to help others out. She does like to sit on the porch but the porch isn't for the handicapped she does enjoy being outdoors. We don't have air condition because it doesn't work any more and can't afford to replace it at the present time. My wife has asthma also and it would be lot easier for her to breathe in the summer time with an air conditioner that works. She does like to crochet a lot when she has the yarn to do it.
We don't have a video camera so we can't send you one of the family. WE can send pictures of our family and our house.

  3. Hey there Ty, I am from South Africa. I never ever miss a show. It is heartwarming to see what you do for others in need. I so wish we had something like that in our country. My husband lost his job and we are struggling to keep our heads above water. He just can not find any work. We live in a two room sink shack in his Moms backyard. If it wasn't for her, we would not be eating at all. My closests neighbours are the rats that live within the walls of our shelter. A couple of years ago my jaw was broken in two places. I could not go for the operation and due to that I'm loosing my teeth, to the extend where I'm almost always in pain and can not eat properly. Its so awesome to see weekly how you help people in need. I always cry, cause somehow I can feel their pain aswell as their joy. Thank you so much for what you do for all those families and for the programme. Ty you are the man. This is a programme that touches people for sure. Kind regards, Harene

  11. Good afternoon, Home Edition, I. watched your show and I was touched. If I'm in South Africa can I get your help while I'm here? What do you need from me? My mother died in a bus accident in December 1984 and we were waiting for Christmas clothing but the bus turned around and she didn't make it. She was busy building a 5 room house and she fell before seeing her dream house. My father took another wife and they never mind about making that house. It fell of around 1987 because there was no roofing and I struggled to to make it the way my mother wanted it. I wish to make it the way my mother. Can you please assist me.

    Best Regards

  16. Hello. My name is Alyssa Pierce. I am currently saving up to start breeding ball pythons. I have lived with social anxiety and bipolar most of my life. My soon to be husband has high functioning autism. When I became pregnant with twin girls, we were so happy. Then, the state of Maine decided that because we had these diagnoses that we were unfit parents and our daughters were adopted. However, this is not only about me. My father, Andrew, was my role model as a child. He built our home, and many others' homes in his work as a carpenter. My father got into an accident when I was about 8 or 9 years old, and sustained an 8th degree concussion. He was always moving between different hospitals and group homes for years. After the accident, my mother favored my sister, and I only had the hope of my father being able to come back home and my pets to keep me going. I live in an apartment above my future in-laws home with my fiance, and my father lives in a different town by himself. Even though he was away most of my childhood, and couldn't come home, he has always been supportive and there for me. With his poor health, I hate being medically unable to drive to see him. A home with a separate building and or section just for my dad wouldn't even come close to what he deserves for being so supportive of me. He has very few people who don't like him, and he leaves most everyone with a smile. He has cooked Christmas dinner for people in his building who would otherwise be alone. He has also taken online college courses in law, and earned a degree with a GPA of around 3.7, despite how many people believed that he couldn't. He has touched many people, and very few who meet him forget it. Thank you for reading our story.

  17. Hello, my name is Miranda Mendoza. I live with my close family consisting of my mother, my two brothers, and my two uncles. We live in an old, busted house that my father promised would fix up but never did because he decided to leave us.

We face many problems with our house such as thin walls with no insulation (so it gets really cold during the winter), poor roofing to where it leaks every couple years after we fix it ourselves, a leaking basement, one bathroom for the six of us to share, and weird sleeping arrangements.

As one of my uncles lives in the basement, my other uncle lives in a room above our porch, and my brothers were supposed to share the big room area upstairs but instead they share the living room.

My brother, Adam, is in the living room because he is physically disabled. He was diagnosed with Charco Marie Tooth but that changed late last year to SMA. He is limited to how far he can walk and right now he is on crutches. The furthest he can manage in our neighborhood is walking to the bar next door where he talks to neighbors and plays pool. I am scared for his safety in our house because we have so much stuff it's hard to find a place for everything and we are poorly organized that things end up on the floor. If Adam trips over something and breaks a bone, the doctors said it would probably be the last time he would ever be able to use that limb again.

My other brother sleeps in the living room mainly because he is usually too tired to climb the stairs when he is done watching people play video games on our main computer in the dining room. He also just likes to stay close to Adam in case he ever needs anything or if something happens in the middle of the night.

My mother and I have our own rooms on the main floor. We both have a hard time keeping them clean. My mother has been suffering with depression ever since my grandmother passed away, which was a little bit after I was born. I can tell that if it weren't for us, her children, she wouldn't be doing anything right now or would probably be dead. She works so much. She has arthritis in her wrists and works as a dental higentist in our Multnomah County Health Department. My mom loves her job because of the people she works with and she gets to talk to people every day. My mom loves to talk and surround herself with positive people. I am similar to that because I am just now realizing that I must surround myself with positive people in order to have positive energy for myself.

I have been suffering with depression since middle school. Dealing with the separation of my parents, my mother having odd hours at jobs she had to do to keep a stable house for all of us, and constant insults from my brother, Daniel, because he was being bullied at school. I, one of four children, am the only one who doesn't have a mental or physical disability. Jeremy, my oldest brother who doesn't live with us anymore, is bi polar, skitsifrenic, and other disorders. Adam, is physically disabled. And Daniel is high functioning autistic. Psychiatrists have told my mother that is Daniel and Adam live together, they will have a nice life because of the way they work together and go hand in hand together to help each other out.

I am writing this today because I love my family. I do not want to be perceived as lazy but I simply do not have the energy to clean the entire house for everyone and maintain it clean forever. I am becoming more and more busy as I am doing more with my music, finishing high school and beginning community college, and trying to find jobs so that I can move out and live on my own. But I feel that I can't do that to my family. Just up and leave and feel bad for not being able to be there to help them.

So please. I need help. My family needs help.

    Thank you.

  18. Hello my name is Faith. I am seeking your help for a home. My husband and I along with our five children moved to the US in 2004 in search for the American dream. We came from a place where we had everything to nothing. We did not know anyone but, yet we still moved to the US for better education and a better future for our children. We are currently living in a home that we are renting. The house was built in the late 50's and needs a lot of upgrades, pretty much the whole house needs to be upgraded. I have mentioned to my landlord a few times that I am interested in buying this small but enough for us to call a home to sell the house to us. My husband does not work due to personal reasons. I was the only person working in our family until recently My oldest son turned eighteen and started a new job. We were on our own ever since we left our mother land. we had no help from families nor anybody. My family depended on me to put food on the table every night and a roof over their heads everyday. It was exhausting but somehow I managed to pull through. We were even homeless. We had to sleep in our van. We went to food banks to get food most of the time because money was always tight. We had to stretch every paycheck to get thru the week. I am a hard working mum and it would mean the world to me and my family if you chose us. Thank you so much for your time. God Bless.

  19. I would like to nominate a family I don't even know. I don't know their story I just know that they had a home before the tornadoes that hit Moore OK May 20th 3013. I drive down the road the tornado went down and I see a lot of new homes and a lot of lots where people moved away and never built back. Some people are still building. Tornado season is upon us again and I drive by and see this family living in a small bumper pull trailer where their house once stood. We had rain today and I saw that they had plastic on their car window to keep the rain out. I have never met these people and I don't know their story but I would love to see someone come and help build them a home with a safe room or a storm shelter. The trailer they live in will no last if a tornado comes their way again. Thank you and God Bless

  22. I am posting because of my dire need of help. I lost a son back in March of 2014. I am having a medical problem with my back and cannot get a job, my oldest daughter has no place to stay and I am caring for my 2 grandchildren. There is no hotwater tank. I have to boil water for three young children plus my self. I had a plumber come and look at the tank and he saw the mold in my house and said all the ceilings have to be torn down before he could even begin to fix the heater or any plumbing problem. Me and these children basically are living in a condemned house, I have no husband, no friends to turn to and my other family is out of town with bills and problems of their own. I am struggling with depressiona and bipolar as well and even with medication I am having issues to the stressful conditions I am enduring the death of my son, the pain I am suffering from spinal pain, and now have been having the heavy red blood cell loss of fibroid tumors. I want a stable and safe environment to provide my youngest child and my grand kids.and hopefully when surgeries complete I will be able to try and get work to support us. I worked in the school system with handicapped children. A job I loved but can no longer do because of medical status. If you can help us. Thank you

  24. Hello, my name is Sarah Jones. I am writing to you because my mother in law and family needs your help. Two weeks a go a terrible hit and run accident took the life of my father in law. It was a Saturday night; the family was out for a birthday party, at the bar where my mother in law works. A few hours into the event, my father in law, Patrick, went outside to move his car to the front of the building, a drunken driver hit him with such an impact that he was instantly dead. He was taken way too soon, he was one of the nicest, and most helpful and liked person I've ever met. He is greatly missed! It is devastating. The entire family, friends and community showed their respect at his funeral, about 900 people showed, it was a beautiful ceremony. But realizing that such a great man was taking away from his children, family and wife, they were left alone with a too big of a project to handle. The house my parents in law live in is a spot where friends, family members and other are welcome, everyday. They always have an open door for anyone to come visit, need a place to stay or a plate to eat. It was my father's in law dream to renovate the house, where not only the grandmother gets her own room and bathroom, and does not have to go down the unsteady stairs to the basement, but also where his grandchildren have their own room to play and sleep. The house is in a bad shape, not the exterior, but the interior. 30 years of living in this house made it visible, the kitchen needs to be updated, the carpets are in bad shape, all rooms are packed with stuff that need to be organized. The one full bathroom they have has its marks and problems from 30 years of living in it. The house has such great potential. It lies in a beautiful neighborhood in The NE area of Portland, OR. It has an attic, which my father in law wanted to be the master bedroom, and build a walk-in closet for my mother in law; it has always been her dream. On the main level, you have 2 bedrooms, the full bathroom, the kitchen, the living room, the TV room, and the dining room. Downstairs is the basement; you can find the current room of the grandmother, as well as a half bathroom, with a sink and toilette, and space, which is not utilized, other than keeping a lot of stuff. The plan was to renovate the entire house, it needs fresh paint, new floors, a new kitchen, a new stove that does not work anymore. All rooms need to be reorganized and renovated, and an extra bathroom needs to be built. The stairs to the basement are scary; they are not save. But because of the devastating accident, my family does not see this project happening anymore, because of the loss, and they do not have the money and knowledge to start. My sister in law, with her daughter had to move in as well, to help with the mortgage and to be there for her mother. But she and her daughter are sleeping in the bed with my mother in law, because there is no other option right now. They need their own room. It is so sad to see, that such a great man was taking, the marriage between my mother in law and father in law was magical, they were everything to each other, and always helped others. It doesn’t matter whom, if friend, family or stranger, they are good people and always help others and now they need a hand from you! My mother in law has been so strong, for her children, but now it’s time that we do something for her, and get my father’s in law dream started. Please help!

  30. Dear Extreme Home makeover,
My name is Nicole Razey and I am writing to apply to help my parents. I love them so much. They have been there for me for years and years and have helped me with everything any time of day or night. They have been there through the birth of my four-year-old daughter, Luna, the birth and death of my less than one-day old son London and the birth of my now two-month old son Axyl. They have put me and my children ahead of themselves for far too long and I am on disability still struggling to finish college in hopes of paying them back some day somehow. They have both been working 40 plus hours per week for 25 years to make sure I am ok but recently everything in their home is falling apart. They built it themselves in 1998, and now there is water damage in the basement and the bathroom ceiling is about to collapse. They have helped me so much, they even helped me pay for a headstone for my son when I couldn’t afford it. Now unfortunately I am concerned because that house is all they have and they can’t afford to repair it. They could maybe scrounge for just good enough repairs but I just know they won’t because they are worried they might need the money for necessities and I feel horrible for accepting all there help now because they need help themselves and I can’t help them. I know you guys get so many applications and some people have a much harder time than my family but please consider our story even if it is 3 years from now before you even look at this, they work so hard for almost nothing in return and have given up everything to get me through school and they deserve so much more.

  31. Hi, my name is Kahlee. I'm 16 years old. Growing up, I lived with my mom until I was in first grade and shortly after moved in with my dad, step mom, brother, and sister. When I was in 4th grade, during a hurricane, our house caught on fire. We had no insurance on anything so we lost everything. We had to start all over again. For about 6 months, we lived with our grandparents until FEMA could get us a trailer. After moving in the small trailer, and living there for about 5 years, my dad and I both broke our ankles and had surgeries. Shortly after, my step mom found that she had endometriosis and had surgery also. My dad and step mom were very heavily involved In all of our lives and brought us to all our sports events, and we are also heavily involved in our church community. In 2015, my dads mom, my grandmother passed away from a vascular disease. Months later, we had help from family and found a trailer a bit bigger and a nicer trailer park to live in. Nine months later, we lost our provider of our family, our rock, and the most important person in our lives, my dad. My dad died from a heart disease and his health issues run in our family. Now that my dad is gone, my step mom is raising her two kids, and me, her step daughter, by herself. It's hard around here, but we've never lost our faith. Here recently we found a perfect 2 acre piece of land down the road from our church, but we would like the opportunity to have the perfect house to help us through the hard time we are having with our tremendous loss.

  32. I realize there are thousands of people who are looking for a home makeover. I'm all honesty, we don't want to be on TV or want a full makeover. We just want some major repairs done that we can't afford. We were very naive when we bought our house and didn't realize what all it would need. Now, we have so many problems and can't afford to fix them. Listed below are just some of the major things that need fixed.
*Need a new roof- ours has had 5 leaks in different spots over the last year. We also have part of our roof that is a flat roof and it needs pitched.
*New gutters on one side of the house – they run over and also between the house and gutter.
*New Windows- 4 of our 10 Windows leak (as in the drywall is soft under or you can see water marks down the wall) and are really drafty. During the winter, our furnace can't keep up and its a newer furnace)
*Insulation – all of our walls that are outer walls get mildew if something is against them, especially in the winter
*leaky pipe that we have tried to fix several times and had no long term luck.
*Wiring- outlets don't work in 2 rooms and our garage (it's not the breaker) and outlets through the house are a little questionable
There are a few things that we would love to have done that aren't neccesary, but our only concern is the safety and well being of our son. His father and I both work full time, but usually have to pay bills late so we have money for food and gas. We don't want to take the home makeover away from someone who deserves it. We just want to get the stuff fixed that we can't afford. If you know of someone who would be willing to help us, please please send me their info or have them get in touch with us! Thank you so much!

  33. Hi ABC Extreme Home Makeover, my name is Lebogang Mogale (20) , from Polokwane, South Africa. I have been a fan of EHM since it began and I have never felt so much hope in my life, knowing that there are people out there willing to help other people in need. I always thought maybe I might not get a chance because I am from another part of the world, but you'll never know until you try.

I'm from a very large family of 13; starting with my mother (47), aunt (36), 5cousins (30) (22) (20) (18) (24months), 2brothers (22) and (18), sister (8) and nephew (2). All of us are leaving in a four room house, depending on my mother who's, working alone with an annual income of $10000. One of my cousins who's 20, is disabled, he lost his sight when he was a little kid. recently he finished his last grade and we haven't been able to afford to take him further to college. I am writing this with the hopes that some way somehow we might get help someday.

  34. To whom it may concern: After living a very rough childhood, adulthood hasn't treated me much better. I just had my 18th surgery at 37 years old. Before having numerous uterine problems and a hysterectomy, God blessed me with two wonderful children. My son struggles with Asperger Syndrome and will probably live with us through adulthood. All this falls on my amazing husband who does his best working his fingers to the bone. We live in 750 Sq ft. We gave the children the two rooms while our bed shares the main room (25×12) with the kitchen and dining. The roof leaks so bad it rains in the house and the mold greatly effects my daughter and my asthma. Please help my husband to know he's done the best with what he has to work with. May God bless your whole crew for all you do in helping so many lives.

  35. Hello there. Were so lucky that a show like this exists where you change peoples lives by doing a very generous act of kindness.

Id like to nominate a very precious lady to me. My Mum Bridget O'Donnell. My Mums life from an early age has been a struggle. Growing up in a large family she worked on the home farm from 6years of age up early to do the daily chores before walking miles to school. Mum was brought up by her father a hard working man who worked to provide for his large family.

My Mum left school at 14 to work to pay money into the home which cared for 8 other siblings.

She then met my father and began her family. My father is an alcoholic who openly phyically and emotionally abused my mother when drunk. I have memories of this. My mother stayed for 6years to try make our family work until she was beat with the poker infront of the fire in the presence of my grandmother and myself.

I remember mum walking us to the end of the road with a few bags to take us on holiday to the womens refuge. Mum didnt drive so struggled taking us along with bags. I never thought to thank my mum for saving herself and us from this abuse.

The past 5 years have been a test for our family. Mental health illness has affected our family massively. My Mum lost her youngest and oldest brother to suicide within 14months. In this time my brother and myself have also been affected with depression and suicidal attempts.

My Mothers heart has been broken and her own health jeoporadised. Im so sorry for any heartache I have caused my mother.

My Mum is 52years old a home owner who lost her home as result of sectarianism. She had to walk away to provide a better life for my younger siblings who couldnt leave the house without being subject to abuse.

My mother has worked hard all her life to make a home for us and provide us with all we needed. Her life up until this point has been a battle one thing after another. If I can change this I would.

She takes great pride in working hard to make a lovely home. Unfortunately since having to leave her home shes struggling to decorate and get flooring for where she now resides. I have tried to help also. Our family have always pulled together but so much work needs done.

I really appreciate you taking time to read this application. This could turn my mothers life around and help her see good things can happen to good people.

  37. I am an 8th grade teacher at a middle school in Galveston, Texas. I want to nominate our building supervisor for her home to be helped. She works hard in a world where very few people know the meaning anymore. She is always short handed and works double shifts and overtime because she has such a excellent work ethic. Can you imagine keeping up a middle school (5-8) operating, cleaning, and constantly in motion to repair. Her husband has a disability but that doesn't keep them from living life. She puts her heart and soul into our school and their is no way to properly show her just enough how much we depend on her. The school could not function without her and she doesn't even realize her importance here. Fixing, cleaning, and managing a building with over 500 middle schoolers are most people's nightmare. She deserves the best and I want her home to represent all the love and care she gives to the school that she may not have time to give to her own home.

  38. Hi everyone. I wish I had the money to build houses for every single one of you and or your family members a home! Everyone has stories playing on my heart strings to the point I almost, ALMOST, wasn't going to apply. Everyone of you deserves to be taken care of.

My name is Rebecca and I am asking for a home to be built for our family too. We are married and have four kids. Our youngest is 16 months old. My husband recently got out of the military and is an 80% disabled veteran. I am still active duty.

We just moved to Adkins Texas because I crossed trained out of Air Traffic Control to Cyber Intelligence. This was our first purchase. BUT wIthin a couple weeks of moving in we found BLACK MOLD. We had to immediately find some place to go with all of us plus the cat and birds (for obvious health concerns-the inspector said worst case he's seen that is still being loved in) while still being committed to our loan. No one is able to help us this far.

We lost our mother (in law) last year; my husband is dealing with so much stress and depression. She was his best friend, besides me of course, they talked literally every day. She lived with us before we had to move and we planned on bringing her here to be with us. I don't know what to do! We have (in the last year and a half alone) had some of the greatest challenges (some wonderful, some heart breaking) we have faced in life. We had a baby, lost a mother, he got out of the military, I am switching careers, we have moved 3 times, and now this–no safe home for us and our children. If I can't figure it out financially I will struggle in the military. I don't have to have a "dream home" any safe home will do just fine.

You all may be our saving grace. Thank you for listening to our story. Good luck to all of you.

  39. My name is Joy Sorrows. I work at Rodeheaver boys ranch, and would like to nominate this boys home for an extreme makeover. We have 5 homes that house up to 50 boys who come from broken homes and need a hand up in life. Rodeheaver boys ranch is a non profit boys home where we strive to build boys instead of having to mend men. The ranch has been open since the 1950's. So of course there is plenty that could be updated. It would be awesome to be able to help these boys even more! Thank you for taking the time to read.
Extreme Makover Ranch Edition! God Bless

  40. Hi my name is Ramona and I have a son with three small childern and a wife he is the only one working and they live in a trailer with only two rooms that they live in and share and the kitchen is falling apart the childern sleep all together in the living room on the sofa the rest of the trailer they can't live in and he can't afford to buy any thing he has tried to do so work on it but it is just to munch for him I hope you can fine it in your heart to help him as a mother and a grandmother I cry for them every time I visit them he realy needs help . Thank you

  41. Dear Extreme Makeover team

My name is Lezlie and I would like to nominate my little sister Lyrian
My litlle sister and her family lives in Houston Tx, back in 2014 her family were integrated of 3 boys (Leonardo,Raphael and little baby Sebastian) they were a very happy family until October 2014, when Sebastian with only 15 months old started with a sever fevers, and after a several blood tests doctors diagnosed him with Acute Myeloid Leukaemia a rare type of Leukaemia in kids. The minute they said “Leukemia” your heart just sank, you never think something like this can happen to your child. Doctors at Texas Children’s Hospital couldn’t lose any time and they started with first round of quimio, warned us it was going to be a hard journey and they were right.

For several months we saw Sebastian suffering and all the family with him and just after Christmas, we received even worst news. Sebastian had a very rare translocation on his leukemia and the treatment with chemotherapy was not enough to cure him, he needed a bone marrow transplant to save his life and the difficult part was finding a match. Doctors made tests to his parents and brothers and they were not a match, however in March 2015 and thanks to “be the match” Sebastian found his donor from unrelated cord blood and successfully had a Stem Cell transplant

After living for 210 days at hospital, Sebastian is back at home recovering well and although he have to go back to the hospital almost every day for checkups, there’s no more chemo’s waiting for him, neither painful nor aggressive treatments. He finally can run with freedom, he can wake up every day in his bed, lovingly he can hug his brothers and play outside breathing the fresh air. He’s now one year cancer free, he has a page on facebook: Team Sebastian Cancer free, with more than 8,000 followers and I’m sure lots of people would like helping Sebastian in having a bigger house with his own room where he and his brothers can play around and enjoy their new life!

  43. Hi Extreme Makeover, I'm a mother of 5 and my husband commutes 6 hours a day for work. I stay home and care for our son Makaio with Critical Medical needs He is 4 but mentally 6-9 months. He has a rare brain malformation called Polymicrogyria & Cardiofaciocutaneous. He has seizures, non-verbal or mobile can't walk or crawl. We lived and rented a home in Fremont for over 10 years and this last August the owner's told us they were selling. We were blessed to be able to buy a home in November, with all the on-going care we give our son we haven't even been able to just paint are home let alone unpack. We would love to be able to give our son A miracle backyard makeover. He's not able to travel much due to his frequent aspirations. He has to be constantly suctioned. I strive daily to keep our son out of the hospital.
We would love a Family vacation but that's not really possible so the backyard makeover would allow us to bring the vacation, quality family time to him. He loves the outdoors, and trees and a serene setting. <3 And if it wouldn't be to much trouble a she- shed hideaway for his mama (me). It's hard to find help in doing this for my son and our family. It would be a huge blessing and a place to enjoy some respite. Thank you for this opportunity & God Bless.

  45. Hi i watch your show of how you make peoples dreams come true, Where to begin with the house i bought at the age of 25 i thought i would be an adult move out of my parents house and get my own place, I was told about this realtor that was supposed to be really good and when i told him what i was looking for he told me he found it, What he failed to tell me is that the laundry room floor was mostly torn up but they have stuff on it, The bathroom needs updating, floors are coming up, dishwasher leaks, stove is so old the handle falls off, windows are old and are very drafty, AC was broken water heater is on its way out and furnace broke 2 months after i moved in i have to buy well finance a water heater, AC and Furnace, Base boards are missing outlets are all covered, front storm door doesnt close its broken a dog can open it, bedroom doors need to be changed, drop sick in laundry room doesnt work it leaks when hot water is on. This house is in so much need, i just cant afford it and now im locked in a place that needs work. It would be amazing if you could me out. It would help make my life, im also battling with a facility and a lady that beat my dog and broke her face.

  46. Hi. First let me say I know that there are so many that need your help. I pray for them and hope they receive the help they need. I also need help. A few years ago I started getting terrible headaches. My neck would hurt setting at my desk to the point that I would have to use ice packs at work. I shortly found out that I have a condition called Chiari Malformation. A birth defect of the skull that allows my brain to fall through. I then became unable to work any longer. I worked for legal aid and help so many families at their time of need. I truly miss being a part of my legal aid family. Since then I have been unable to find a home. I've been living in my ex husbands home and shortly he will be retiring. I am 47 years old and my daughter is 14. I have been denied a loan to build a home on my property and I'm just at the end of my rope. I don't know what to do. The depression and sadness is taken over. I never thought I would be in this situation and not be able to give my child a good home. If I can't give her a home I may have to let her live with her father and that would be the end of my being. So please, if there is anything you can do for my I would greatly appreciate it.
    Thank you and God Bless.
    Sheri Lemaster.

  47. Hi my name is Kalynn Zavaglia, I am writing the show with high hopes of having my story heard. I have watched the show for years and I get chills almost every time. What TY does for these families is amazing and I could only wish to have something so extreme happen to our family. My story is this, about 2 years ago my father was diagnosed with kidney disease at the age of 61.The specialists said that over the next couple years and the years to follow his kindneys would only go down and eventually he would go into renal failure. This is where he is now with his kidneys at only 8%…. my older sister Leah has gone through a year of testing so she can give our dad one of her kidneys and his life back.My dad started his own company 25 years ago and with great success over the years is now Going to be retiring next year…he has given our family everything we could ever want over the years without complaining ever once, he always puts himself last and just quietly goes on working for those he loves the most.I would love to give back to him.We have a house in Prince George b.c that we want to renovate and add a in law suit for my parents. It would be so amazing if after his kidney transplant he could come back from Vancouver after 3 months to a brand new home and not have to worry about anything. I know this is a shot in the dark but you never know unless you try and at the very least I can say I did. Thank you and I look forward to your favorable response. Kalynn z

  48. This family has been there so much there two young kids and mother with mental Heath issue and father who working his hardest for his family but they have no house living in our camper please please help this family the barkleys.

  49. I would like to nominate my parents house as a possible candidate for getting a home makeover. My parents have always been the ones to help others. From taking in family and having them stay until they are able to get on their on their feet to being caregiver to family when ill and putting things aside to help take care of grandkids. They both have hearts of gold and have never asked for anything in return. I'm hoping you would consider making over their house as a huge thank you for all they do.
My parents bought their house brand new in 1987. Aside from changing carpet and putting in tile flooring, the house has never had any updates done. My dad is not much of a handy man so "if it's not broken, why change it" or if needed the easiest fix is his alternate. As the house gets older, things have been breaking down and bare minimum is done to get things working again. Although it is livable it could use a great make over and maintenance.
I would like to say thank you, on behalf of the whole family, for all their care throughout the years by getting a home make over. I don't see them ever leaving this place because I have tried many times. They are only getting older and things are just going to keep deteriorating. My mom recently hade knee surgery and needs to have her other one done. Sleeping quarters for them is up stairs right now and it would of their best interest to have something made for them downstairs. I would love to have things made low maintenance and "break" proof, if that's even possible.
Aside from things that are needed, they have always dreamt of having a kitchen island, a working dishwasher and larger entertainment space. My parents, annually, have a family Halloween gathering (my dad is a Halloween baby). To have more space for family is a great would be amazing for them.
My dad is a retired Navy of 27 years and has been trying to retire for the last 2 years with his current state job. It would be of such great relief to him if things were properly fixed and the worry of having to "fix" things was off his shoulders. Maybe if things were updated fixed and working, he could finally retire without worries.
Thanks for your time and considerations. Hopefully we can make this happen.

  50. We are a family of four and we are living in an apartment getting to small. I am a single mother to three daughters Tramanda, Mariah, and Serenity are getting older and are needing more space. Thank you so much for taking the time to read our story.

  53. Hi my name is Donna, I'm sending this for a family who is struggling right now to rebuild their home for their young daughter who had a lung transplant in February 2016.
They were in Toronto Canada for over a year patiently waiting for lungs that would match their daughter, and with that came many scary days as she was on a machine to breathe as she waited.
When they returned home they realized their home was not safe for their daughter to live in and they can't live there until all of the proper renovations are done.
My friend is a stay at home mom and dad has struggled with his job since they returned home. ( Quesnel, BC Canada.
They are living in a very small RV trailer at the moment because they can't afford contractors, they are relying on friends to help do the renovations when they find the time. It has been very dry here and with that has come forest fires, little Lauren has had to be kept inside to keep her lungs away from the smoke.
She is 8 and so young to have the stress of not being able to live in their home and then have to wait for an unpredicted amount of time until her family can move back into the family home?
I am hoping you can help this family and give them back their stability of their home. Lauren has an older sister Brianne who has been on this long journey as well. She was apart from them for extended periods when Lauren was in Toronto waiting for a lung transplant and it has been very stressful for all of them .
They would be so thankful to have a home that they could live in and know it is healthy for their daughter so she can live each day being able to breathe in good air.
    Thank you for your time

  56. Hello xtreme home team, my neighbor Carol Bartlett & her son Scott are in a 30yr old mobile home that very badly needs a renovation, they are both battling cancer &time is of the essence, they try to look towards the future while fighting this battle and I've heard them say they would like to renovate or replace it with a lakefront log cabin, but they dont know which option is the best. They have a well also that the pipes are rusting in quite badly and needs repair as well, praying you will consider this mother & son for a renovation ASAP, Thank you so much for your time and I truly thank god for all of you.

The house I am living in is literally falling about around me. If I could afford to rent then I would and at the same time if I could afford to rent then I could afford to do work on this house. I live in my parents home and my brother allows me to live here because I took care of our mother for most of 9 years until she passed away. I am a single mother that works two jobs and still barely make ends meet and I believe with all of my heart if it wasn't for God then I wouldn't be able to do what I do now. Good luck to everyone and I pray God provides a way for each of us to live a safe life until the Lord calls us home.
    God bless.

  58. Hello extreme makeover, my name is Kendra. I have struggled for many years to be able to own my home, have a family, etc. Was all I wanted in life. In 2014 my father was run over by a drunk driver and died in the hospital. 4 weeks later I found out I was pregnant. The place we were living in waznt condusive for a child and the both of us so we went looking for a new place to live. I ended up finding out there was money from my dads death and was going to be able to buy a house for my little family. We found this nice 2 bedroom house with a basement. There was a few cosmetic things that needed to be done to the house. When we actually got into the "cosmetic" things and also replaceing a few things we discovered there was more wrong. After some complete replaceing of outside walls, gettingnnew floors, etc. We were able to move in. There is still some things that need to he fixed and we are wanting to redo the basement and put a bedroom down there. It has been difficult for us as my son is sick all the time. 9 months old and has to have nebulizer treatments, has been on different medications. And the first 6 months of his life he was constantly on medication. I am just a mom asking for a little help in hopes my son can start to feel better and I can have a home to call ours for my family.

  59. My husband and I had no idea how our life was going to change. We raised three beautiful children and our youngest daughter just turned 15. We were almost empty nesters. Our heart was pulled on very heavily. There were thousands of kids in foster care that needed homes. We decided to go through the process to adopt through foster care – 2 more kids wouldn't be that bad :). We got two handsome boys (7 and 3). 6 months later, we found out that there was a sister (age 8) in a RTC not too far away. Todd and I fought for that little girl which put us at three now. Almost a year later, we get a call that there is this 10 year old that would love to be in a home with other girls. Of course we could t say no and we were at four!! A month later, it was asked of us to take her two brothers (13 and 8). Now we were questioning ourselves. However we did it. Currently we are living with 7 kids, ranging from 5-17, with 2 adults. Our home is cramped. All 6 kids share the same bathroom and our family and dining room is not made out for this many people. I'm hoping that you can help us improve our living conditions. Little did we know, we would have this many people in the house when we bought it. Much appreciate the thought.

  66. Hello my name is Sharon. Back in June of 2015, I left a 15 yr relationship because of so much mental abuse. I am raising an 8 yr old granddaughter. I didn't want her around the abuse. I left a 25 yr job too. I moved in with my dad to help take care of him. He's been having a lot of mini strokes. August 15 the Lord took my dad home. He was such a hard worker. He was 79 yrs old. He passed away before he could get his shingles done on his house and the siding done. It looks horrible with all the paper on it. If there's any thing I could ever do for him is to just get finished what he started. I know he's in heaven watching down on me and baby girl. He always wanted his house to stay just the way it is. I just want so badly for me and my granddaughter to have a lovely finished home. I'm 59 yrs old and I don't have a job or the funds to finish it. I pray that you guys can finish the job my dad couldn't. God bless you. Sincerely Sharon Smith

  67. Hey, my name is Dianna. I love watching yall's show. I'm 14 years old. My dad is 50 turning 51 on June 28th. He is disable so I have to help him alot. We have been going through a really rough time. In 2008 my dad and his brother went to Tennessee to get their brother well when they got on Route 81 a couple miles up the road my dad and brother was in a wreck, a tractor tralier hit them and shoved them way on up the road. Sometime in 2007, my dad messed his back up by moving one truck bed to another and his back gave out and it crushed his vertibrays. They operated on him in 2008 and sometime after that my dad was sitting on the couch watching the race and he sneezed, he sneezed so hard that it made his back snap and break part of his virtabrays. Then he had another back surgery. About a month later, he was in the wreck with the tractor tralior. The wreck messed his back up even more, gave him whiplash, headaches, his nerves are tore all to pieces and he is scared to get near a tractor trailor again especially a big red one because that is what he was hit by. He had his third surgery in 2010. The same doctor from UVA said that there was so much scar tissue that it is growing against his nerves and there is nothing they can do about it. Then a month ago my sister and her boyfriend wanted to go get the go karts weighed out and my dad didnt feel like going because he didnt feel good and it was raining. Well he went and coming home around 11:30 something that night, right out the road, he hit a tree and went across the road and landed in a police man's yard. He was okay but the truck wasnt. The truck is totaled. Ever since then my mom has never told my dad she loved him, gave him a hug or a kiss. Last week on a Monday I didnt feel good so I went with my parents to pay bills. That day when we got home me and my dad went to go see my Granny Chaney so we went just me and him. When we got home my sister and mom was gone, waited for them all night and they didnt come home, the next day they didnt show up either. Later Tuesday night my dad was on the phone with his cousin, Mitchel. Mitchel said he would call my dad right back he had a beep. A few minutes later he called back and said to my dad, "I hate to be the one to tell you this but Timmy just called and said your momma just past away a few minutes ago, she started gurgling and he lungs filled up with fluid and she drown." So my dad and him got off the phone and got me and we rushed over there and my dad sat there beside her holding her hand and told me he could still feel that she was warm. I cried my eyes out all the way over there and all the way back. Wednesday me and my dad had to go to the funeral home and pick out granny's casket and everything so we stopped at the bank to get a couple dollars out because my dad called and there was $144 dollars in there so we was going to get about $50 out and there was no money in it and my mom cancled the account since it was a joint account. When we got home there was a paper on the door that was taped with blue tape on the screen door. It was an eviction notice, my mom was kicking me and my dad out! I told my mom if you ever kick my dad out your kicking me out too and she said okay, like she didnt even care, I was like okay then and I left and went outside. Thursday we had the viewing and my mom and sister didnt show up. Friday was the funeral, still, my mom and sister didnt show up. We was on our was to burry granny and this person in this big SUV cuts in the funeral line and the stop light is red and it stops right in front of us at the red light and then a tractor trailor was about to turn and he had to stop. Then the car turned and sped up and kept on going. Saturday and Sunday we tried to fix the black mold that is in the other house that my dad has right up the road. The other house is torn all to pieces. The water isnt working right, the floor is rotten, there is black mold in a couple places, the roof is leaking and running down the floor and messed up some of the floor tiles, some of the places in the house is basiclly no floor. We have to move out and we cant live there if the house looks like that and has no heat and air condition. Yesterday I found out that my dad might have cancer caused by smoking on his tongue. My mom has this cancer called Melinoma Carsonis Tumoris Cancer or however you say it and spell it. Please, all I want is my dad to live in a safe place with me can you please help me? I'm begging you! ~Thank You, Dianna<3~

  71. I am requesting help because I have Multiple sclerosis. I have a home that my husband remodeled and what he did is wonderful however, dice I have been diagnosed and have dealt with per alizarin, loss of bladder and bowle control, having no energy at all, major depression, cognitive impairment and many other function failures. Currently going blind in my right eye. It's just been one thing after another after another. I can not physically clean my home so it's not as clean as I would like and very cluttered. I can not physically do laundry so that is a never ending night mare. MS has stole my life and it has stole my family's life. I am also severely depressed. My husband works 3 jobs sometimes 4 to make ends meet, pay the medical bills and make sure our daughters have the best we can give them. If you could please help us, help me by using your creativity to possibly implement things around the home that could be used vigor rehabilitation and free up money cause we are paying for services to help me and my disease which become necessity. We would forever be indebted to you.
    Sincerely,
    Jennifer Cove
