  1. Hi my name is Mikalyn Campbell. I live with my girlfriend Hannah Worely and her mother Helena Worely. We have two kids together ages 4 and 5. I believe we should be on the show because I want to give my girlfriend the house of her dreams and a bedroom for each of the kids instead of having to share. I only work out of the two of us at a pizza parlor and my girlfriends mom works at Pepsi and is needing to retire after 25 years of owning the house we live in. The problems of the house are probably all the same to other houses you've seen. We've got warped floors. Holes in the walls and floors. The front steps are a big problem. They are breaking there's no railing and Helena struggles to get up them now. We have broken sinks. Toilets that constantly over flow. There's water damage everywhere and mold growing. I've been trying to replace and fix everything I can. Hannah doesn't work because when she had a job she got depressed and cried all the time. I begged her to quit. Money is really tight now. I struggle alone to pay bills and get food for the house. I also believe having a lesbians couple as a episode would be great to show the community how others do struggle with every day things. I eventually want to marry Hannah. But mainly I want to give them her dream. They deserve it.

  2. My name is nicole I am married to my wonderful husband waylon we have three beautiful children chasent who is 8 kaitlin who is 5 and easton who is soon to be 2. Easton is an identical twin but sadly to say his brother (weston) passed away with that happening it caused a twin to twin transfusion that caused eastons fluid to drop to almost none. The doctors hospitalized me in hopes to raise his fluid back up. It helped but the fluid was still considered low so the doctors kept a close eye on him having me come to the doctor 2x a week one toy regular ob Doing ultrasounds and to my highrisk ob also doing ultrasounds. They noticed eastons head started measuring small and a large ventricle in the front part of his brain. I was able to carry them to 37 weeks when easton was born he has his chord wrapped around his neck 3x and his face was purple. He also had trouble breathing and had to stay in the special care unit. Thankfully he got to come home with me when I came home. At four months the doctor ordered an MRI on him they discovered he has a rare condition called schizencephaly also known as (split brain) the corpus callosum that connecte his brain together is poorly formed which causes high tone (to much strength) having high tone requires alot of exercise he goes to physical therapy and one time a week he will be going to start occupational therapy soon. He was recently diagnosed with cerebral palsy he will be getting a walker in a few weeks to help him learn to walk. His physical therapist has worked with him with a walker they have at their office and now he will be getting one for the house to learn with.the more exercise he can get the more he will be able to do in his future.we live in a 3 bedroom mobile home in wilmer alabama easton has to share a room with me and his daddy all of his toys and stuff are in there too. We had to get rid of our kitchem table so that he would have some room for him to start working with his walker.as you can see my little mam really needs yalls help. It would be so greatly appreciated if yall could give my little man a place to do his exercise and put his own little toys. A place to call his.THank you soo… much for taking the time to read our story.

  7. I know a family who is the most pure and virgin form of the word "hillbilly". They are dirt floor poor and on a fixed disability income. They have one small child and one on the way, and their house is falling apart around them. They are good hearted people who would help anyone who needed it. If anyone in this world should be on your show, it is this family.

  11. Hello, God Bless you, First let me say that your show is truly a blessing from God for the work that you do! and may the Lord also reach His hand to bless everyone on this application site as they are all equally worthy of this opportunity and the help they are seeking!

my name is Anthony, in my home, which was my grandmother's home previously there are 7 of us and ONE bathroom and shower! my wife and I and our blended family of her 3 children ages (21,20,15)who have grown to be my own and our children together (5&4) we have currently a lot of work to do in this house and it seem like we are always getting taken by people who say they are going to help us and then do a poor job that is not standing the test of time! we have put our savings of over 30k into this home , and we are about 30k in debts as well! we still needs so much professional fixing and we are now down to only my wife working right now and we will never have enough money to get this house in a shape where we do not have to look for another home to live in. every fix uncovers a new issue! it is like the movie the money pit! looks okay but rotted behind what you see! I want to give my children the best home they can have and my wife the home she deserves without having to leave this home because I was a little boy running around this house and to see my little ones running around like i did here, I don't want to have to sell this house. i want my children's children to be able to live here! we have no mortgage but we have no more funds to renovate either. i am a man of faith and I believe if the Lord touches your heart to move on our behalf it is His will especially seeing all the worthy submissions, many more worthy then ours!

    thank you for your consideration

    God Bless you,

    Anthony

  12. Hello! I'm writing this application on behalf of my parents and my son. My son is 20 months old and has a very long list of serious and rare medical issues. He has Epilepsy, Pachygyria, Hypotonia, Primary Hyperoxaluria Type 2, Cortical Visual Impairment, and Laryngomalacia. He is mentally the same as a two month old baby and is expected to stay that way for the rest of his life. He will always be wheelchair bound, if I could ever get our insurance to pay for it. He requires 24 hour care and because of that I cannot work. Both of my parents work to support our family but it can only go so far. My father is a long haul truck driver, and my mother is a secretary. Also living with us is my 13 year old sister. While our house isn't in bad shape it will never accommodate a child that is wheelchair bound especially once he gets older. It is a mobile home and my son and I are cramped into one tiny bedroom. With all his medical supplies and everything else we need, he needs to survive there isn't much room to live. It would be wonderful to donate our home to someone else in need of we were to get one built for us that is handicap accessible.

  15. Hi,
So my mother in law has lived in the same home for 18 years here in Jacksonville, North Carolina. 2 days ago her house caught fire due to electrical problems. Luckly she wasnt in the home at the time but when her and my father in law got home their house was on fire and their 2 dogs were inside. They lost their house that my father in law put years of work into himself and took the lives of their 2 family dogs. The dogs Zrus and Reese were the 2 most loving amazing sweet pitbulls ive ever met in life and they lost them, along with all of their belongings. As insurance should take care of the house being fixed. weve recently found out the insurance half that was being paid to the bank for the house loan and insurance stopped going to the insurance and that same day their insurance on the house expired. They are fighting it but that takes time. My husbands mom and dad have lived in that home for so long, so many kids were raised there. So many memories they dont want to let it go. Itd be amazing if you could help them because they lived their whole lives in this one house thats where we spend our christmas eves, our thanksgiving, thats our family space. They lost so much in that split second i just hope and pray you can be the one to help save the one thing they can savor out of all of this.

  16. Hello Ty and your crew,
My name is Susan Gilliam and I'm from the small southern state Arkansas. This state is good for a nice front porch, with some lemon sweet tea, and home grown tators (patato) and brown beans. Where you never know from day to day what season its gonna be. It could be 80 degrees one day to snowing the next. The bestvpart of living in this small southern state tho is the family time, and the Sunday sermons, some of that old time religion. But that's enough about my state. Now I'm gonna tell you a little bit about my family. So we live on this nice piece of 3.5 acres in this 3 bedroom trailer that is 23 years old. Here in this home its me and my husband, my 15 year old step daughter (but I claim her as mine), my 6 year old daughter, and then my 1 year old son. Right along with us I'm taking care of my daddy. He is as of right now with abone injury that the doctor had said this surgery he is about to go through will either help or it will cripple him for the rest of his life. We are hoping it helps but only faith and time will tell. So in my home my two daughters have a room, my sons room was actually a bathroom we had took out for storage (its small enough to make it into a play area) me and my husband have a room, and my daddy sleeps on the couch. I will go into detail later into what is wrong with this homebecause its not just too small but needs a lot of work done on it that I'm to embarrassed to say. Anyways I'm a stay at homemomma, like I said take care of my daddy so that's a lot of time but I wouldn't trade it for nothing. Anyways this home is a home because my family lives here but, a nicer updated home would be nice too. With all this said may God bless you and everybody else as well. Bye-bye everybody hope to hear from you.

  17. Hi. I just left a bag of clothes, books and toys at the home of my High School friend Denise. She is collecting to help a down and out single mother with a 3 1/2 year old. Nice of her right? Well, Denise is herself a mother of three. She is in a wheelchair because she suffers from MS. She also lost her husband, the sole provider, when he was killed by a drunk driver as he was on his way home from work to his family. The loss of her High School sweetheart has been devastating to her and her three children. As I was at her house I looked around and just wished I could help her and her family. She founded a non profit organization to help other families deal with the loss of a loved one to drunk driving. I feel such a giving generous person is truly deserving of help. There are so may people that can benefit from your awesome show, this family in particular, could really use a break. Thank you so much for what you do!

  18. How exciting to be able to really apply for a home makeover! After reading some of the stories I am truly touched by many of them. My name is Brandi and I am writing in regards to my sons grandmother who is a survivor of breast cancer and many health issues, including being disabled due to a tragic accident. Her family has had many ups and downs throughout the years and with the current family death of her mother, she inherited the family home. As I understand the home is paid off maybe with a small lean that was taken out by her mother. Due to her being on disability she struggles with paying her bills which causes a lot of anxiety to her life. I understand and recognize her daily struggles and would love to see something wonderful happen for her and her family. The home is fairly old and could really use an extreme home makeover! This woman is an amazing individual and deserves the very best! Most of her belongings are old and outdated, I feel that this would change her life and help her become more productive. I also know that she would appreciate this from the bottom of her heart as she is not aware that I have sent this application! I also would like to thank you for the opportunity regarding this matter and please consider our family for the extreme makeover!! Respectfully Submitted, Brandi Garrett

  20. Goodafternoon Extreme Home Makeover team, I am contacting you to nominate my neighbor Carol and her son Scott Bartlett, for a home makeover or replacement. They are both fighting battles with Cancer so very couragiously, and selflessly helping me in my situation all the while. This is very humbling for me and admirable to say the least. Their Cancers are advanced so time is of the essence I'm sad to say. Nevertheless I'll do all I can to help make this happen for them and would appreciate your consideration of my nomination for them to receive a homemakeover or replacement of their mobile home with a cabin from lakefrontcabins.com Sincerely, Nannette

  21. Goodafternoon to you, I would like to nominate Carol Bartlett and her son Scott, who are both fighting their battles with cancer so very bravely, and all the while helping me to stay afloat in my own situation in every way they can, so gracious and selfless are their acts of kindness, I'm so very humbled and moved and pray to be able to go above and beyond for them as they have for me. This feels like a fantastic way to do this for them. They talk about removing the old mobile home and replacing with a cabin from lakefrontlogcabins.com, I know this is alot to ask and time is of the essence for both of them, I'll help in any way I can! Thank you for your time and I hope to hear from you very very soon, please help me to fulfill one last wish if you can. Sincerely, Nan Beauvais

  22. I'm from Canada, from a small reserve in QC. We live in a very old house, I grew up in this house & its falling apart so much. My mom sleeps with a machine on because she has trouble breathing, she has mold in her room & i told her "maybe its because of the mold" & she doesnt wanna believe it. We got mold in the kitchen aswell. We are only 5 people in this house. Our basement is just as bad as upstairs but i'd say its kind of worse. The switch for the room lights is broken, it finally gave up on us after many repairs. Now I have to use a lamp for my room & my sisters. My mom feels embarrassed to have people over because of how our house looks. She tried getting a new customized house here but she couldn't & building houses here doesn't happen very often but when it does there are already other people who have signed up for it (a very long wait) & i dont think we can wait that long due to the mold in this house. I hope to hear from you guys!

  27. Hi my name is mariah Hartwick I'm hoping and praying for this home makeover. I live with my 71 year old Grandma and we live in Eldon Missouri. My grandmother is the hardest working woman I know and she has the biggest heart and tries to help everyone else out besides herself. We are so busy fixing up everyone else's homes that ours is being neglected from leaking roof to our water tasting funny. I have a four year old son that my grandmother has been trying to fix this house up for when she passes away and this has become a task to big for myself being a full time student, working part time and trying to help with repairs it just seems she won't be able to travel or enjoy the rest of her life here until we get settled and all these repairs done. She is extremely stressed and it is affecting her last year's. This would be a blessing and help us out tremendously. I hope you have time to consider our situation. You guys are so kind and generous and may God bless you as you have blessed and touched many families.

  30. I would like my parents to have an extreme home makeover. My parents have helped many children get their live together. My dad is a retired postal worker and a military veteran. My mom has always been a stay at home mom. My parents need a home maker over very badly. The main reason is that every time it rains they have a flood in the den. They have had multiple people to come by to try to fix it but no one has been able to figure out what to do. My parents are always helping others. He has been a mentor of many and has helped so many people find a profitable career in their life. My mom always helped raise other children even though she had six children of her own. They are on a fixed income and don't have alot of expendable income. My Dad is the pastor of a very small church with about 20 members most of whom are on a fixed income. He drives the church van and picks up the members who don't have transportation each Sunday and Wednesday. He spends almost 3 hours on those days picking up members so they will be able to come to church. My mom collects clothes and gives them to people that need them.
There is so much I could tell you about my parents and how they have been a blessing to so many. Please select my parents to get an Extreme Home Makerover.

  32. Hello my name is Hayleigh and I am writing you about my mother Brenda. She is 51 and caring for my brother who is 16, my sister 18 however, she was diagnosed with bipolar and being schizto effective many years ago so even though she looks like a normal 18 year old mentally she has many challenges and caring for her puts much strain on my mother, and she cares for one of my sisters friends that is mentally disabled because his parents kicked him out and he is unable to care for himself to even though my mother really cant afford it she welcomed him in her home and cares for him like he is her own without any aid from the state or his family. She also helps take care of my grand mother who is not in the best physical shape. My mother will cook dinner and take it to her and she goes over to her house and does her laundry for her every week. My mother does all of this with no expectation of an award in return just knowing she is doing good for other people and living life through Christ is good enough for her. She also helps me out with my boys I have five of them in any way she is able. She recently helped me get a loan for a van I desperately needed the vehicle I was driving only had enough room for four of them and didn't have any heat so she cosigned for me even though she needs a new car herself she put that need to the side to help me out. She works at the community college in the town I Kansas that she lives in as a custodian making a low wage yet she doesn't receive any assistance from the state. Her job is very physical and even though she is exhausted physically when she gets home she has to be prepared for the mental challenges of my sister and her friend as well as taking care of my grandma. The house she lives in has three bedrooms and one bathroom she bought it through a program call interfaith housing many years ago and it is now deteriorating. The house is so poorly insulated that it doesn't even hold heat she had to purchase space heaters for the winter because the house isn't holding heat even though she is running the heater there are many spaces in the floor along the crease where the wall is and the plumbing is always a challenge for her she has to repair it several times a year because she cant afford the repair to fix it permanently. She wishes she could get a new house or make the repairs to the house she has that is needed however she just doesn't have the resources. If I could I would help her but I am a mother of five working and going to college barely making ends meet myself. My mother has always been a hard worker and putting everyone before herself. I am writing because I would like to give her the blessing of her life by fixing up her house. She is truly a wonderful person and she has no idea I am writing this for her if she did she would probably tell me not to because there are other people out there worse off than she is. I know there are many people out there that need your help but I think my mother would be a good option for your show. Even if you don't pick my mother I just want to say that I think that this show is truly amazing and it truly touches my heart how you change people in needs lives. Thank you for the opportunity to share my mothers story.

  33. Hey. My name is Dianna and right now I am living with my dad. about a month ago it was raining and my sister and her boyfriend wanted to go get the go karts weighed out. My dad said he didnt want to go over and over. Well he went and on his way home he wrecked the 69 Ford Ranger we have and totalled it. Messed up the whole right side of the cab, bowed the dashboard, busted the radaiator, and busted the windshield. Ever since then my mom and sister have pushed me and my dad away from them. My Granny Chaney just passed away on the 5th of this month. Tomorrow they are going to move my Papa Chaney to be with her. My mom and sister left and went somewhere and is staying with my granny and sometimes my oldest sister. We came home the next day and we had a paper taped to the door where we had 30 days to leave. I told my parents that if she made him leave I was leaving too. Mom doesnt really care if I left. My dad bought a mobile home a couple years ago right up the road and we rented it out but when we did we always lost money every time. Now there is 2 sections of balck mold, the floor is caving in, the water to the sink isnt working right, there is holes in the floor, and so much more. We have no where to go. When my dad and I went to the bank my dad called that morning and there was $144.00 dollars in there. When we went to get a little bit out it was gone. The food stamps we have no money was on the card anymore. We barely have any money left only around $40.00.I really wanted to make my dad happy and not have a worry about where to live because if we cant get the house fixed we have no where to go. My mom is messing with guys saying she wants my dad gone and all this stuff. But if I am lucky enough and yall help me thank you so much! Have a nice day.

  34. Dear Ty and crew,

My name is Dennis York and I am pleading with you to at least consider my father-in-law for a home makeover. His name is Tom Lohff and he is a close to retirement age licensed social worker in the state of Kansas. For more than 25 years he has dedicated his life to selflessly helping those in dire need. He has raised two beautiful daughters on his own while putting himself through college. He owns his own home, but he has no financial means for the necessary repairs that are so desperately needed.

  35. Hi my name is Brittany and I am writing you this in regards to my moms home. She has been there for 15 years and it is literally falling apart. My mom is the hardest working and strongest person I know. She has conquered and beaten cancer twice, raised my brother and I by herself which she had to work 2 jobs for 17 yrs until she got sick and had to quit. Yet she still managed to buy a home. Which at one time she was very proud of. Then now she took on the responsibility to raise my little brother that belongs to my dad and his girlfriend to keep him out of state custody. I write you this because I am scared for the safety of my little brother and my mom. She has a ATV keeping her door closed because her home has been broken into several times and all she does is stay in her room locked away and suffers from deep depression when my little brother comes and stays with me. She makes everything seem ok when he is there but I know deep down its not. She doesn't or hasn't ever gotten child support but yet she seems to make sure my little brother is taken care of. But her home has no insulation at all in basement, her AC and heat has had issues for years and she can't replace it. Her water comes out brown in her faucets and I'm sure it's the hot water heater. I could go on and on but as I said it is literally falling apart. I would love to see my wonderful mother get something she truly deserves just once in her life. I can't stand to see her hurt for doing nothing but good for everyone but her self. I would love to see my brother have a house that a wonderful little boy so deserves as well as my mother. Please I'm begging you to consider this for my mom and my little brother as she is getting ready to under go yet another surgery. She needs to feel proud of what she has worked so hard to have instead of her not even wanting to be there. Thanks for taking the time to read my story and again please consider if it's only just the little things that needs repaired because she can't afford to do anything because the state will not even help her with my little brother. She would give a stranger the shirt off of her back, and I am praying someone will help her.

  37. Hello from McCook, NE. My name is Annie and my grandmother is in serious need of a new home. My grandparents raised me for the majority of my life while my parents were in and out of trouble. My grandma was left her house when my great grandmother passed away in 1999. My great grandmother had the same home owners insurance for fifty years prior to her death. When the deed was switched over to my grandma, the home owners insurance agency did not inspect her home while by law, they were indeed supposed to. In 2003 my grandparents had a house fire due to bad wiring in their home. Because the fire was due to electrical complications the insurance company would not cover any repairs. The entire electrical in my grandparents house is outdated, most of the plug ins no longer work, she has poor lighting, no attached light fixtures, and can only run a certain amount of things at a time. The fire left a huge hole in her dining room ceiling revealing the attic. My grandfather did the best he could at patching the hole, but the roof continues to leak because of the fire. The leaking has caused big pieces of my grandmothers ceiling to fall down onto the floors in her home. The ceilings and roof are in need of being replaced. These problems are only getting worse with time, and my grandparents have not had the funds accessible to fox them. My grandmother has been the care taker for my mentally handicapped uncle for his entire life. Until the last six years, he was handy capable and lived on his own, he cannot drive and is not allowed to work. About six years ago, my uncle had a psychiatric break down and was admitted into a mental institution draining my grandparents of all of their savings. He was diagnosed with schizophrenia and was heavily medicated for several months before being released back into my grandmothers care. He has lived with her since. Five years ago, my grandfather passed away from a heart attack. Although he was a Vietnam veteran, my grandma received no benefits and no financial help for his funeral and burial services. Again, my grandmother was financially drained and had no more money in savings. A year and a half later, my uncle was down to a pill a day, he had another psychiatric break down. This sent him to a mental institution for another year. My grandmother takes care of everyone and has had several jobs in the last two years but has struggled with the taxes on her home. She is now $2000 behind and has until June, 2016 to pay or her home will be foreclosed. She has lived there for over 15 years raising her five children, raising me (one of her 11 grandchildren,) taking care of my uncle, and providing for herself and their two dogs. Housing is limited in McCook, and if she has her house taken from her it will be incredibly hard to find a home. I have a gofundme page to help her raise money to pay the back taxes on her home, however when we raise the money to keep her house, it is an unsafe environment for my grandma and my uncle. Her roof is caving in, her ceilings are falling apart, she needs a new foundation, her house needs leveled, her walls are cracking, she has outdated electrical and appliances, her house is falling on top of her. I'm actively trying to raise money for her to help fix her house but I know that with the amount of work it needs it will be near to impossible to raise that amount of money. If you do not pick my grandmother I understand. We are praying for a miracle. I have pictures and videos of the condition of her house and it's enough to make someone cry.

  38. Hi Ty, when I was 10 years old my mom and I would watch the show, and we would fantasize about how it would be like to own a house and get it all remodeled the way you and your crew would. But that would be a dream that would never come true. My mom is an illegal immigrant who didn't have a decent job. My who life we've just rented rooms in various apartments. I've never really had a place to call home. But I had always dreamed of what it would be like. Thanks to my boyfriends mom, that came true. She openedly and happily took me in and opened her doors for me. Now my two daughters live comfortably and we are very blessed to have a roof over our heads and not have to worry about renting rooms. So I am reaching out for her, she really deserves this. She's gone through a lot of problems with this house, from realtors walking out on her. To problems within the house, such as leaks and just things falling apart. She has managed to fix things hear and there all by her self. Never complains or askes for her, on the contrary she help everyone else even though she needs the help more. We are just so blessed to have her in our lives and I'm thankful everyday for her. So all I ask is for her to be blessed. Thank you so much for your time.

  39. I'm writing to throw in my wish for a very dear friend Phil Sollit who deserves a mansion but only wants a home. He is a disabled American Vet. He signed his name on that blank check for all Americans and continues to give. He is a Ride Captain for Patriot Guard Riders. He is fighting cancer and in spite of his health issues, he moved in with his father-in-law who is also fighting cancer and other health problems to be his caretaker. He and his wife currently live in a older very small house. There isn't enough room for a dining room table so they never have guests for dinner. He has cooked us a fabulous dinner but had to borrow my kitchen to cook in. I know there are many many people that deserve a new house but I want to add my wish that Phil is someone who really deserves it.

The floor to the restroom is tilted and makes it so much it harder for him to get to the restroom on time due to being careful as he enters. The bathtub water system is horrible. The home is in such a bad shape and it hurts my heart that I cannot help him. Please make the latter days of my uncles life a blessing by making over his home.

  49. Good evening. My name is Dana and I'm writing to you about my grandparents home. My grandfather passed in 2009 leaving behind his spouse whom my mom and oldest brother took very good care of her thru her last days (she passed away in her home 2013). My family is trying to hold onto the property as we share many years of prescious memories with the best grandparents on earth. We are a very close loving family that just want to bring the home back to life. This home is extremely old; needs major renovations, new plumbing, electric etc. their daughter who happens to be my own mother lives next door in a mobile home. We would love if she could fix my grandparents home up and move in it and bring the family back to our heritage. It's a 3 bedroom ranch style house, 1 bathroom, 1 kitchen, 1 living room and 1 laundry room. I feel like this would be a miracle and blessing from God for our family if you could help make this happen for us. Thank you for taking the time to read my letter. Be blessed

  50. My name is Amber I have 6 kids and I'm disable I could use a make over to help me I have to survive so all my money goes to bills and stuff we need and kids so after that I never have enough to do anything to my house I had a foster kid for 18 months that just went back to their parents plus I am a GAL and help other kids if I had my way I would take home these kids i home school my kids so they are always with me I give my shirt off my back to anybody but when it comes to my house I could use some stuff done to it i just broke my foot yesterday when I fell in the floor vent while switching laundry and alot of other stuff really needs to be done thank you

  51. Cheers. My brother passed away last week from a heroin overdose. He had been staying with my father while he was trying to get both clean and back on his feet. He had been doing very well, and we all thought that maybe he was making some big strides forward.
Unfortunately, this wasn't the case. My father came home from work and found my brother deceased in the basement.
My father's house needs some work, much of which he was slowly chipping away at as money allows. However, now I think a makeover is more necessary than ever to ease the bad memory of my brother's passing. I cannot even begin to imagine having to walk down into that same basement where my brother's body was found each day to do laundry or get something out of storage.
I think my brother's story would be great for your show as a) it would truly benefit my father more than probably any of us can even imagine, and b) it could bring some light to the issue of heroin use which is quickly becoming a very serious epidemic in this country.
I hope that you guys can help!

    Thank you,
    Kyle

  52. I would love to have an extreme make over of my home in order to accommodate my family . My wife and I adopted my disabled niece and we take care of children from our church . Also my stepfather recently passed therefore we took my mother in. My niece needs a ramp to adequately use her wheelchair . We also have two grandchildren and five children of our home and we believe it's our mission to train feed and love everybody . Thanks for considering our family and home

  53. I have a bit of a long story but I will try to keep it short, and if you would like more information I could talk hours about this. I don't even think this is in your area but I'm reaching out for some help. A year ago our church was going though some rough times. as the youth pastor there of 12 years I proposed that we not look inward but outward to the surrounding community and what we could do for them. I had taken our youthgroup on about 8 other TEENSERVE.org trips where we go and do home repair and painting for those that can't in towns throughout the midwest. From Glenwood IA to Merrell WI. to Goshen OH. I had become decent friends with Jeff and Lori LaBell that organized the trips. Our church decided to bring Teenserve local. Many times we partner with a local Habitat chapter to get some paint at a great discount but this year this looks like it will not happen for us. This has really shot our budget and I don't know what else to do. We have applied for grants. Many of the local towns have chipped in what they can. We are going to other local churches and they have also chipped in. I know that you guys like to transform one house and make it amazing. We are trying to update and make better 50-70 houses in one week. We already have the 300+ volunteers coming in we just need some help getting some supplies. The volunteers pay to cover the cost of food and the staff for teenserve. our local group is responsible for raising the funds for the materials. CAN YOU POSSIBLY HELP US GET 500 1 gallon pails of paint that can be tinted. A donation of paint would be great, if you want to go even further our total budget is $25,000. we believe that we can hit the $15,000 succesfully. the paint at cost is about $10,000. this is why losing the connection with habitat hurt us so much. Can you fill in this gap for us. God Bless. This is not just helping one town, this is helping about a dozen. they are located between Champaign/Urbana Il. and Danville Il. in the rural area mostly. We would be willing to give you and your station, show, credit about this project also. God bless and please contact me if you have any questions.

  56. Dear TY and Extreme makeover family,

Good morning, my name is noredia and a lover of your programme, I watch this from Nigeria and was hoping this love can be extended to us in Africa. Is there a way to help my friends family? His name is Bengab isa (check his profile on Facebook). He passed last week leaving a young wife and 3 children and we are still in
great shock. He is a great helper of men, he taught me and people around entrepreneurship, free decorations, cake making, soap making etc. he started a free skills acquisition programme for most rurul villages and was transforming the lives of the youth before he passed. Please if you can help get his family some financial stability at this time. He does not have a house since he is still on rent. God bless you all for the great works that you do. I am look looking forward to make a difference in the life of this family who have given so much to youth empowerment and bettered the life of others. Thanks a million . Warm regards Noredia

  57. Hi extreme, before I start I wish the best of luck to everyone ody and hope All of your situations find light and peace. To begin, I am not here for myself but for a family that is dear to me. They have a home that has been passed down and it is literally falling apart. Inside and out. Back in the day like 20+ years ago was when they first welcomed me in there home. Mr. And Mrs. M. always made me feel welcomed, helped me with school, clothes, fed me, took me to do activities with the family and even including me in the tragic losses. Mr. M. Was always working and or taking us kids somewhere. It never mattered where as long as we got to go. Mrs. M. Was always driving us all around and also working or taking care of errands. Mrs. M. Was mostly busy taking care of the youngest child, he has many disorders and she always had to monitor him. They were both good at what they did. Growing up with their kids has made me like one of their own. All of us kids they have welcomed into their home. We have always had kids all ages over, whether it was for birthdays or just playing out front. Now a days things aren't so hot. As I said, Mr. M. Is ill and and tired and yet there is so much to do. The new generation is living in the house currently also (with he youngest daughter: the mama) and she has to be fed with a feeding tube and she is still so young she needs to be monitored all the time. My sister (the oldest daughter) and I have worked for a cleaning company and have given the home the best we've got, growing up we all gave it the best we got. The kids that still live there, they still do but it's not enough to save the home. The space and condition of the home is not safe or sanitary for anyone living there. With just a little bit of help I know it will bring peace and comfort to all of us. Especially Mr. M.and the others that are ill and need help. Please take them into consideration, I believe they deserve this.

  62. I want to nominate my grandfather in order to restore his home. He built the house along side of his wife as she was pregnant. They built it from the ground up with hard work, determination and love. Their love story is genuinely an American dream. They raised their three children and made many memories. Unfortunately after 60 years my grandmother passed away and left my grandfather heartbroken. The house still stands but needs a lot of work, it is my grandfathers dream to rebuild and live in it again. His health isn't cooperating and I am the only one to help him, but I don't know the first thing about home improvement. I would love to see his face if his dream was accomplished, I couldn't think of anyone who deserves it more.

On wednesday April 4th, 2016 my aunt was hanging out with her boyfriend, it was a normal morning for them, they sat down and watched the recorded season finale of he walking dead before she got ready to go clean her bosses house (he's a vet and agreed that if she cleaned his house that he would give her vet care and pay her, its a trade off since she cant afford vet care) she got up to go take a shower, her boyfriend heard a thud and tought it was shampoo falling because that happened often (woman love to keep their products on the side of the tub duh, i'm guilty of this myself) but later he started to get worried when he noticed she had been in there a little too long. He walked and saw her unconscious on the floor, he immediatley drove to a neighbors for help because he had no service to call 911 (they live on land so neighbors are not so close) once EMT'S got there they alerted him that she would have to be airlifted from seguin to SAMCC San Antonio where me and other family members live. the neighbor was kind enough to let the team land on her cleared out open field and even cut down her fence to make it accesible to get her into airlife, people like this truly make me believe that there is good in humanity. Once at the hospital she was taken for a CAT scan and then rushed into critical emergency surgery because they were worried she would go into herniation. Which is fatal, because that means the brain has so much pressure and has no where to go to relieve the pressure so it goes down towards the brainstem and spine. It took doctors an our to get back to us with information because we didnt know why she was in surgery, once they did get back to us we found out how sick she really was, the CAT scan revealed that she had a hemorrhagic stroke on her right temporal lobe which is when an aneurism balloons out in between two or three vessels in the brain and then ruptures creating heavy bleeding and swelling and shifting underneath the skull and around the brain. THEN we got worse news! they came across another brain anuerism on her left temporal lobe that is stable and has not yet ruptured which they want to put a stunt in later to hopefully remove or break up this one. They informed us that they would be doing a craniotomy on the right side of her skull to relieve the pressure. 3 hours later and once out of surgery they then put her on a ventilator to keep her stabalized and keep her blood pressure at a reasonable level, since her chance of stroke is at an all time high. the surgeon said to me and my family in the waiting room and I will never forget what he said…" 1/3rd of patients with this condition dont make it to the hospital, the 1/3rd that do wont make it out of surgey or even out of the hospital, but the 1/3rd that do make it through have deficits and disabilities for the rest of their lives." My aunt Judy has gone through some traumatic stuff here, but shes a fighter. We were told that this will be a long journey and this is just the beginning. This woman is extraordinary, she goes out of her way for people all the time even though she doesn't have much of anything and barely any money she makes due with what she can. She is a big animal lover and despite the lack of income, she birngs animals in and gives them the best home she can. I remember being in FFA and raising lambs, one year my lamb got sick and needed to be rushed to a large animal vet. Once my aunt found out she immediately contacted her vet and got us down there. She had to clean his house for a week to make up for him giving my lamb medical attention, which didnt matter to her! she would much rather save my lamb and spare us the expense of a very high vet bill. She is responding well so far to stimulus and followung commands when given, even though she is still on a ventilator and sedated they take her out of sedation to see how far she will respond. she isn't fully awake or opening her eyes but can move her toes and her right arm, squeeze and give a thumbs up (her left arm is postured from the right temporal lobe damage which effects the left side of the brain and vice versa) The doctors are mentioning how after she will have a long way to go with rehabilitation, her daughters are worried that they will have to move her in into a long term care center or have her live somewhere else because her house is old and very damaged, it would be amazing if her house was disable accessible when she comes out of all of this and gets to go home to the house she has lived in for years and years. With all that has happened, I feel like this would be a blessing for someone to have a generosity to help her out the way she has helped others. Thank you for your time and hopefully you read this and have some thought about it.

  72. Hi! My name is Kiersten. The story I will be sharing with you today is the story of my Nana Debbie. She is my father's stepmom and has been in his life since he was two years and obviously, in mine my whole life. My nana is one of the most selfless, caring, kind, helping, loving, and all together positive person I know. She lives here in Ruffsdale, Pennsylvania for most of her life now. Her and my grandfather raised their 5 (and my dad) children here. This home is now home to two of her sons and one of their three children. Back in November my nana and my pap found out that my pap had pancreatic cancer. He passed away in December right before Christmas. I was in Florida working for Walt Disney World and came home that day. Every since the passing of my pap my nana has been working hard making sure that she can afford the things that her children and grandchildren need. Her house needs lots of fixing and updating. In all of my life I do not ever remember my nana putting herself first. Please consider our story and give something my nana could never give herself. I appreciate the time you are taking to read this submission!
