  1. Hello my name is Amber Castaneda and I am needing your help to fix my grandmother's house she has lived there for about 20 years and during this time period she has become the care taker of her older sister. Her name is Patsy and she is 65 with the time of an 7 year old child. Just in the year of 2016 she had a stroke and was put in the hosputal. When she was released they said she was to be put in a nursing home until she has fully recovered. The cost of her being there has posted $900/month and that has now put it to where my granny's is struggling to keep her bills paid and take care of her house. Right now she has a major floor problem and it has caused the has to be unleveled and the walls r caving in and if u barely touch the walls or close the doors, the whole house shakes. In the past few months she has had some rats that have tried to take over the house and she don't have the money to fix all of these problems. It would make her life a lot easier if u could help fix her house so that way her sister Patsy could come home. If you don't pick us that's fine and I give you thanks for doing such a wonderful job helping families around the world.

  2. Dear Extreme Make overs,

My name is Jasmine, I am writing to you today on behalf of my mom. That 4 years have been a nightmare for us, but she never gives up, she is our only parent and works extra hard to provide for us. I am 16 years old, my brother is 8 he has had a rough life with multiple surgeries for his club foot, and femur. On top of that he's had an ongoing issue with heart and anxiety. Now for the last year he's had multiple other issue but yesterday we found out that he is highly allergic to dust. The home we have is not safe for him or his allergy, he us deathly allergic to dust mites. I see the worry in my mother's eyes that this is not only stressing her but she's helpless on what else she can do. She invested in matress cover pillows however the air conditioning and flooring in the home are not suitable. Being a single mother raising us it's not been easy but there's never a day that goes by that she doesn't push harder and smile and give us love.. I'm praying you can help make my mother's dreams com true and help keep my little brother safe.

    Sincerely,

    Jasmine

  3. Hello abc! my name is rhonda barr and ive recently just turned 40 years old. I live in walnut ridge Arkansas72476 with my 65 yr old mother and my four yr old daughter and my 16 yr old son also with my 17 yr old niece who is also my only deceased brothers youngest girl. my brother who was diagnosed with stage 4 rectal colon cancer was 7 yrs older than me but was given about 6monthsto live, and was definatly not something we were prepared for. in his extreme condition he had to make many extrordanarially hard and paifull trips for his treatments whichwere not all successfully made because of the uncomforthe had,he was forced to come andlive our mother because hecould not take care of himself and soon after he passed away.two months after his death i ecame very sick with an eggtopical pregnancy unaware of this was about to kill me but was treated with the wright drs, i recovered physically still mourning my only siblings death i was shortly diagnosed myself with stage three invasive carcinoma breast cancer and was close to death again andmy mother thinking she was about to lose her only two children to cancer within only months apart so she adopted my children and her life as she knew it was just the beginning of what most would concider hell. im in remission one yr cancer free as of today but still have my port for chemo awaiting the day it may decide to come back to haunt me. with so many treatments and dr appointments our 70 plus yr old house has taken alot of punishment being in a flood zone and surrounded by rice farmers. its falling apart around us and being on fixed income loans for home repairs and appliances are and have become impossible.hoping someone reads my story and would find the time to get in touch with me or my mother who has earned her wings by taking her grandchildren in to raise as her own because of this monster we call cancer has almost taken her entire family and the place we csll home completly away from, and keeps us living in fear every single day. could you pls find it somewhere in your hearts to reach out to our family and give us some sort of relief and a sense of security that were gonna have a place to live the next day when we go to bed each night. it would mean everything to me, my mother and father and two teenagers and so comforting to know that my four year old wont face the true fears of loss that my older kids have both seen had and loss. thank you so much for reading this…rhonda kay barr

  5. I received an email at work today about a family in our city (we live in Canada, not sure if you come to Canada) asking for help for an addition to accommodate her disabled daughter. It touched me and though I would try sending it in…

Austin-Lea, 13, suffers from severe cerebral palsy and is hearing and visually impaired. Her twin brother is autistic. Their mother, Brenda Morin, has turned to the public for help to expand their home to better care for Austin-Lea.

Brenda Morin (her mother)doesn't like to ask for help, but she's out of options.
The mother of two is caring for her children in an 877-square-foot home. Austin-Lea Morin-Sauls, 13, has severe cerebral palsy and is hearing and visually impaired. Her twin brother is autistic.
Morin has rearranged her living space to accommodate her children's needs.
She has moved Austin-Lea's medical bed into the living room, a few feet from the front door, and has put curtains up around the bed for privacy.
The kitchen table has been removed and that space now houses medical supplies. And the kitchen also serves as a laundry room. A washing machine has replaced the dishwasher.
Morin said her plan was to move to a larger home, but her mother died from a terminal illness, Morin was involved in a vehicle collision and Austin-Lea had a tracheotomy last summer.
When she decided instead to build an addition using a home equity loan, the loan limit was too low. This is why Morin has turned to the public for help through the crowd funding website GoFundMe.
“We're running out of options,” Morin said. “We pay our bills on time, we have excellent credit and we do what we're supposed to do."
Morin said the addition will cost $130,000.
“We don't want the bells and whistles, we're just looking for this home to be accessible for a girl who deserves it."
Morin hopes to add 800 square feet to the back of her home, which would include a handicap-accessible bathroom and a bedroom equipped with lifts for Austin-Lea.
“An expansion would mean Austin-Lea will be able to sleep in her own room, have privacy, be able to be transferred safely from chair to bed, to bath to chair, to bed," Morin said. "This also will allow Austin-Lea to have the equipment she needs in the house, as well as to participate in all family activities.
“Austin-Lea will be able to be supervised properly at all times day and night.
"Austin-Lea has been living this way for the past 10 years. This expansion would give her the better quality of life she so deserves.”
Morin said the situation is critical.
“We undress her in the living room and then we go down the hallway. One person in front and one behind her wheelchair. The chair can't fit through the doorway so we lift her into the tub,” she said.
“Getting her out is more dangerous because she is wet and slippery, and we have to get her back into her chair.”
The family considered renovating the house, but the price came in higher than an addition.
Morin said they had no other option but reach out to the community.
“It's hard to go to the community and ask for help,” Morin said Wednesday.
“We would have been more than happy to take out a loan but you can only take out so much and we looked at a lot of different homes. We did all the legwork,” she said.
As of Wednesday the family raised $195.

  6. My sister, her husband and my nephew live in a small house they bought a few years ago in Saltville, VA. My nephew has alot of medical issues, but he is a light in all of our lives. Recently they have found a wet weather spring under their house and it has buckled the floor, and will eventully fall in. My sister works odd jobs to help with bills, my brother in law works daily at the local factory, while my nephew attends school among many Dr visits. They have struggled so much. I would love for them to have something good for a change, something they didnt have to worry about.

I have a bad bathroom and my kitchen is not up to part. I have corrosion and my house is deteriorating. I have holes in my floor and it's very weak. My home is unstable and not safe enough for me and my family to live in. I need you all's help bad to help me repair my home. 8. Hi Ty & your Team. I get goose bumps, everytime I watch your show & it bring tears to my eyes. I'm probably not the "ideal candidate for a home",because there are millions of people suffering, but honestly, I dream of the day, where I don't have to worry about tomorrow's rent or tomorrow's food. I'm divorced & life dealt me a bad hand which I can't fight, because I don't have money. I lost everything. I go to the State Hospitals here, have no choice, sometimes 4xtimes a week & 3xmonthly. At this age, where I'm at now, I've planned my life to be differently, being retired. But life seems to take a person strange paths. Would I possibly be elligible for a house? Kind regards from South Africa.

  15. My name is Sadie and I would love to get some much needed help from you guys for a family I have become very close too. This family has been through so much. Christina is a mother of three young children and a wife to a loving husband and father. Christina was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer last August. She was the youngest women at 37 to be diagnosed with this in North America. Christina had to under go a very dangerous surgery called the Whipple procedure. While running all the test before surgery, they discovered a tumor growing all around her intestines. They were able to remove all of the tumor. Christina then had to go through 6 months of chemo. She was very ill for months trying to heal from the surgery and go through chemo. Christina's life has changed greatly. She's followed a healthy diet and has done everything she can to keep her body and mind healthy. She's fighting with all she has. She has been feeling great since chemo has ended and is so positive. Christina then had a tumor marker test results come in that said her marker was up. She went for a P.E.T. scan last Thursday. The results came yesterday morning and they were devastating. The cancer has now spread throughout her liver and lymph nodes. Christina has two sons ages 16 and 12, as well as a daughter who just turned 4. All Christina wishes for is for the house to get a new roof and cleaned up so her husband Eric won't have to worry about this if the worse should happen. Tearfully she told me her other wish is to take her family to Disneyland so that they could have this memory forever. They were planning for this trip to happen in Sept 2017 after her oldest son graduates. She knows she has to do this trip soon. This family is suffering big time and it breaks my heart to see them have to go through this. Please please consider this application. This family so needs this. It will certainly give Christina the peace of mind she needs at this horrific time. Thank you so much for your time. My fingers are crossed big time!
    Sadie

  16. I want to nominate my Mom. In may a few years back she was hospitalized with blood clots in her legs, they put a basket in to catch the clots and it did it's job, well a few months later she was scheduled to have the basket removed which was located right beside her heart. The Dr punctured a hole in her heart in the process of trying to remove the basket she coded and was considered dead for 9 whole minutes. They brought her back to life and had to cut her chest open and preform open heart sugery. Her Dr told her and my dad that ALL their medical bills would be taken care of to not worry because everything she has to go through the Hospital wanted to make sure she would not have to worry about the bill part of it, so with him saying that the thought of sewing them never crossed their mind. Well a few years later they started recieving bills in the mail saying the owe the hospital ALOT of money… this has upset my parents because they literally live paycheck to paycheck, they are struggling and are now in tons of debt from medical bills. Through it all though my mom has been so tough and such a role model. She never complains always made sure we were taken care of even though she just had her chest cut down the middle. I couldn't imagine and she will always have that scar as a reminder and now the bills aren't helping. She is very modest and always wants to give and not take but I truely believe she deserves something in return for everything she has done for us and so many other person. She is so strong and I love her so much. I pray that you all take the time to read through this. I'm her 20 year old daughter and have tried countless times to get her recognized. Right now their trailer is falling apart and if I had the funds I'd give her everything she ever wanted. But I don't, so please give my mom something that anounts to all the love she gives so many people even in the midst of such depression. Thank you!

  18. I'm going to try to make this long story short. The home I'm currently living in needs a major makeover. I'm debating on selling it or patch it up as I go. When I first bought the home I was married and I'm now I'm divorced raising two kids on my own. Currently I'm working two jobs and still not making enough to do any patch work. When income tax comes, something else happens whereas fixing on my home takes a back seat. Since I've been living here I was able to buy two storm doors and two windows. I really don't get much help from family because I live about 30 minutes away. I desire to have a newly renovated kitchen, 2BA, my deck, 3BRS, driveway, gutters, garage in working condition and some landscaping done for my front yard. If I had the funds or a grant I could find someone to help me or I could do it myself. I would be honored if this desire of mines came true. My kitchen is on its last leg, meaning up under the sink, the floor board caved in, causing water to leak onto the floor (tiles), the cabinets and counters needs to be replaced, need a stove, the refrigerator is holding on. My bathrooms need a face-lift; the kids bathroom needs a new sink,a toilet, tub/shower combo turn into just a walk-in shower, new tiles on the floor. My walk-in shower need a new look, that green color has got to go, toilet, tiles on the floor and a new sink. Both of my kids bedroom needs new ceiling fans, which haven't worked properly since we have been here, new windows and carpet. My room just need new windows, carpet and a new look. My deck need to be torn down and redone. I need some landscape because my front yard is half bald and grass. My driveway is too steep to park in the garage. My garage have never worked in 5 years. If you could see what I see just makes me more close in selling it AS IS! It's a nice home in a nice area, in which I have grown to enjoy very much. I haven't invited anyone over because I'm ashamed of what people may say about the shape is in. One last thing I hate that I live near the woods, meaning a raccoon visits me on a regular, especially when it's cold
or raining, meaning another roommate in my attic. Well I hope all is well and I pray that someone will hear me out and give me a chance. Thank you for this opportunity in sending my request in.

  19. Hello! We are the Beeman family from Des Moines Iowa. For the past 26 years, my husband, Steve Beeman, has dedicated his life to helping the inner-city youth and families here in Des Moines. Many of them refugees from the country of Cambodia. My husband has learned their culture their language and how to read and write their language to better connect and serve the community. He is now going to college and we are paying out-of-pocket for his degree in sociology. Our funds are tight for fixing up our new we purchased home and 80-year-old bungalow. Steven has sacrificed so much for the community and has rescued many from early death due to gang related activity. Never thinking of his own safety or himself. 10 years ago we found each other and married and began our beautiful family. We have three beautiful kids Andrew Age 8, William Age 6 and Chloe age 3. for the past nine years we have lived in a tiny duplex working in ministry and serving our community. Last year we were blessed to be able to buy our first home. It is a small place but it is our own. It is an 80-year-old 1000 foot bungalow with enough bedrooms for our three children to have a place of their own. We would love to be able to fix it up and have more space for the children to play we live on one floor the basement is old 1930s style and the attic is not livable. Our heart is to bless many by having them come and visit our and our little house and show a lot of love to our community. Please help us be able to do that even better and have our modest home in Des Moines transformed into a place of true fun and beauty. For the past eight years our children have asked to own a dog now that we own our home we would like to have a rescue dog for a pet we just need offense to complete that dream please help us if you can sincerely Shawna Beeman of Des Moines Iowa.

  21. Hello make over team!
My parents own a restaurant here in Greenville Sc. They have worked so hard their whole lives owning different restaurants trying to provide for my 3 sisters and I. They do everything they can to try and make our lives the best it can be. It's hard to do that and I can tell they feel bad, when they have to say no to certain things. My dad has a big dream about our house and it just isn't possible to come true right now for us with the income of our restaurant. He just wants the house to be somewhere he can relax and not worry about the paint that's chipping, the bathroom that doesn't work- 6 of us have to share one shower- we just don't have the money to fix it. My 12 year old sister and I share a room, which is fine but we just have no space. Is there anyway you can help my hard working parents achieve their dream?
Thanks for all your good deeds. Hope to hear from you soon!
    Maria

  24. Hello 🙂 my name is Sarah. My grandparents have a story that is heart wrenching and inspiring to anyone. My grandmas parents moved out to samish island in the 40's and bought the tip of it! She has lived out there all her life! Her mother got sick and her father sold of a piece of land at a time till there was only one property left so the medical bills wouldn't put them into debt. Now my grandma live on the last piece overlooking the beautiful samish bay. My grandpa who served as a sargent in the Korean war has had to be in a nursing home for the past few years cause of illness. So my grandma is out there alone. They let me live with them most of my childhood and have been selfless and generous to all who know them! They bring groceries to people in need even when they have had no money for themselves. They served the homeless at night watch in Seattle for many years even though they both had disabilities. They will let anyone in need live with them. They are the strongest most generous people I have ever known! They are both cancer survivors and were in a horrible car accident 8 years ago that forever changed their lives. My husband and I and our two daughters lived in their guest room to care for them while they recoved from surgeries and broken bones. We had a new baby at the time and I was up all night and day between caring for them and my infant! I was happy to do it though cause they would do anything for me no matter the cost! Even for a stranger! Now their house is falling apart and unsafe structurally and my grandma wants to stay in her home. The roof in caving in and if anyone deserves your help its my grandparents! You'll love them and this house needs your help as soon as possible! I'm worried for her safety staying there. We are trying to fix what we can for her and keep it clean but the mild is so bad and the ceiling is spongy and bowing! Please help!

  25. I am a 34 year old mother of 3 looking for a healthy home for my kids. You see, b/c of my husband having Chrons and my medical history my kids battle a rare condition. My oldest officially was diagnosed a few years ago with Common Variable Immunodeficiency. He has been receiving monthly infusions for 2 years now and this April we will be getting trained to give him weekly infusion at home. B/c he has no antibodies to fight illness/infections he has trouble getting over sickness. He is a determined kid, to stay in school and live life as the Lord as called him to live. He inspires so many. My middle child has been battling lots of illness just like my oldest since birth as well. He hasn't received a full diagnoses, but did get an injection to boost antibody levels. My daughter is usually healthier than the boys, but just recently had a genetics test showing that she is at greater chance for ulcerative coloitis, had to under go many test and has been sick a lot lately. Her levels seem to be stable at this moment. I do my very best at trying to keep our home clean and healthy, but these little air purifiers are not enough and we battle our water not being healthy as well. You see everyone at a time gets parasite, but we never know b/c our bodies fight them off. Well twice now my 2 youngest have had a rare parasite called Giardia. Me and my husband has contacted everyone possible to get help with getting our water tested and no luck. We have turned to just praying and believing and using bottle water for most everything we can. 2 years ago my oldest had a parasite for a month and ended up losing lots of weight and ended up in the hospital. B/c of immune system he couldnt get rid of it. You see I live at the doctors when I am not serving at the school to be near my children. At least 3 days a week we are in appointments. My children look normal but on the inside is a daily fight for them, they just want to live a normal life and I do all I can to make this happen. Sometimes I get to where I blame myself though for their illnesses. Only if I could provide them a healthier home and water. My husband works 40 hours a week at his job and makes what he can on the side.I tried working several times in the past but because their appointments I am not available, so I try to clean a house here and there to provide them with family activities. We are a giving family who loves to serve others, but I felt the Lord say our moment of rest is coming and this is one way. If just a few of our worries can be taking away. Me and my spouse have high medical bills were we struggle paying as well. But knowing that our kids are in a safe home would lesson this worry/stress. If we were chosing for a new home we would love to donate our current mobile home. We own our land it was given to us and is a cleared almost a whole acre. I thank God for what we walk in b/c it has strengthen us to be able to be there for others and its a testimony that can help someone in the future.
Thank you for taking the time and read our story. You and love crew has truly blessed us with your show.
    Sincerely,
    The Lobells

  26. Hi Extreme makeover,
My name is Amber. I am 28 years old and I have 4 kids. I never thought I would be here now doing this but I need your help. I live in Highland IL and have been struggling since being a mother and being able to provide a nice comfortable home for my beautiful children who deserve the world. I was in an abusive relationship that almost ended my life with their father. I have been safely away from him for almost 6years but since then I have been struggling hard to provide, never finding a decent, stable home for us to live in. I have 3 little girls and one beautiful little boy. They are at the point of their lives where they need to grow and play and be happy and experience life and I am afraid our situation is holding them back. At one point in time I worked 3 jobs trying to provide just the basic needs. As of now I am working two jobs and still not able to provide everything for my family. But I am trying my hardest. I cannot tell you how many nights I sit up terrified that next month we will be on the streets because I cant make rent. I pay everything I make in one month for rent into a house that is up for sale. Never knowing when my landlord will sell the home and we will have no place to go. I don't know how it feels to have stability in my life but I know that I want it more then anything in the world. If not for me my children. They deserve to be happy and not see their mother cry so much and be afraid. They deserve to lay their heads down at night in a clean safe place and grow into amazing honorable adults. My biggest fear is that because I cannot provide them with this security I will ruin their childhood. I don't want that. I want them and me to be happy and safe. I know there is a lot of people who need help and maybe deserve it more then I do but I can only ask and pray that somehow, someway God will here my cries and you will see this. I will do whatever it takes to show you I am forever greatful. If not I can atleast say that I tried and that I will never stop trying. For them and myself. I can promise you one thing that I wil lnever give up hope that one day our prayers will be answered and I can give them everything they have ever dreamed of. Thank you for your time and I can only hope someone will here me and give us a chance at new life.
    Yours truly,
    Amber

  35. Hello Makeover Team. My name is Syreeta Purnell From Galloway New Jersey and I live in a 2 story 3 bed 21/2 bath slash laundry room with unfinished basement buit in 1995. I have a fiance 2 young children and 1 adult child and my sister also lives with us we moved in July 2015…the house was not move in ready but with limited funds we had to move in pretty much as is.The kitchen is very small and akward cabinets are hidious and not very functional the fridge we have came with the house and is too big to fit in the actual fridge area so its sitting off to side in kitchen taking up the little space we have. The dishwasher dosent work properly so we dont use it and there is no counter space very frustaing for me when prepairing meals The kitchen is also closed off from living room so I dont allow my kids to go out side in front yard because I cant see them so they sit in living room and fight over toys and blindly I yell for order so I can finish cooking .My fiance tried to take up burgundy carpet that was all throughout house to lay hardwood flooring but he never finished so I had to lay runners to cover up the spaces that are not done and myself and my poor kids keep trip over these gaps my little guy has stubbed his toe many times its so dangerous not to mention dirt gets trapped in these gaps and its nearly impossible to clean up in addition ants seem to be fond of these areas aswell as kitchen counter tops and dining room. There are some water issues in master bedroom bath that cause water stains on ceiling of laundry room slash bathroom which we have no funds to get repaired. The laundry slash bathroom is another akward nonfunctinal room with linolium tile that looks to be atleast 20 yeras old all bathrooms have medicine cabinets that are suppose to be inside the wall but they are on the outside the vanitys are all to big and old Im scared to use them dont know what I might find. The living room is small and closed off because of the akward bathroom slash laundry room.My kids toys are allover the living room because the basement is to dangerous right now to let them play down there My sister and oldest child need a bedroom my oldest son and sister alternate the room while hes away at school when he comes home she sleeps on the couch. The bedroom they alternate is truly designated for my 3 year old who for now is sleeping in the room with me n dad. The living quaters at this very moment are so unorganized and frustrating im often depressed about this whole situation which causes myself amd fiance to fight because were frustrated.PLEASE HELP US THIS IS OUR FIRST HOME AND IS SUPPOSED TO BE OUR DREAM COME TRUE.WE ARE GRATEFUL FOR HAVING BEEN ABLE TO PURCHACE A HOME BUT WE DONT KNOW HOW MUCH MORE OF THIS DIORGANIZATION WE CAN TAKE.PLEASE HELP IS MAKE OUR HOUSE A HOME.

  37. I'm writing on behalf of my 94 year old grandmother. I moved with her and my disabled son from Indiana to Alabama eight years ago. Since then the house (mobile home) she moved into is falling apart, the ceiling in my sons room is falling in, same in the bathroom and living room hallway, there is also mold in the bathroom. My grandmother is on a fixed income which is low due to the fact she left her job early years ago to care for my grandfather at home who was in a coma for six years, she did this with little or no help until he passed. My grandfather was from Tennessee and my grandmother is from the UK, she was a war bride. When she was young, living in England she lost her home three times due to the bombing from the war. My grandfather always wanted to retire and go back down south, he never got the chance and that is what brought her here to Alabama. I know she could really use a new roof and the ceiling in several rooms repaired. Please consider her for an Extreme Makeover. Thank you.

  38. I am writing this in hopes you can help my daughter and her family. She lives with her boyfriend and his mother, (Myrtle Lawson) She has a house that is in such bad shape. It has cracks in the walls and the roof leaks. The house has 3bedrooms and 1 full bath and a half bath. My daughter has two children, both of them are girls. The house is just to small and it really needs an extreme home make over. It is really in bad shape. Myrtle is only getting social security and my daughter gets ebt. That's the only thing coming in. Please let me know if you can help them . Thank you

  39. I'm writing on behalf of my fiancée. 2 years ago he lost his grandmother and father 3 months apart. Know he is helping take care of his Mother and grandfather fixing up their homes, but over looking his house. He never really ask for help, but will always help someone who needs his help. He works from sun up to sun down everyday, trying to take care of everyone, and never complains. I would love to do something back for him, to give him something back in return for all that he has done for his family. Thank you!

  40. I am writing on behalf of a friend who just lost her home in a fire this past Friday March 25,2016. Her name is Pam she is raising 5 grandchildren, her beloved animals perished in the fire. She is a beautiful Christian woman who goes out of her way to help others. They have no place to go, no family, and she is on social security raising these 5 children. There is a small cottage type house, no electricity, no bathroom facilities, no kitchen, just a shelter to lay their heads. Pam so deserves this blessing, if she were to be chosen. In closing, thank you for all you do to rebuild families, Erna Meyer…. Interlachen Florida.

  41. Is there a possibility that you guys can come to South Africa,me and my fiancé is struggling to have a place of our own,God bless

He has attained two distinctions despite his difficult circumstances. I just want to say thank you to them by making them a home they can find happiness in. My dream is to run a shelter for children who hav been very through a lot of trauma. This shelter will give hope love counselling and just a place of happiness for the children in my community.

  46. Hello Team Makeover,
I'm writing on the behalf of my grandma myself and siblings I'm 21 yrs old and my grandmother isn't the type to ask for help. My mom died in 2013 from cervical cancer she asked for my grandmother to take care of us which was a big thing for my grandmother to do. She had to adapt to a whole new life style from taking care of two kids to taking care of four because one of my siblings and I was, already living with my grandmother so now she had to take on two more. It was, very hard for her she didn't know what to do not only that we didn't have enough room in our home for my other two siblings. My grandmother is a bus driver on Ft.benning she loves kids and enjoy her job. She laugh smiles and do her best to get buy with the bills. I try to help her but still sometimes we don't get by and things get cut off. Our house has black thick gushy mold in it and we're renting it and they want do anything about it. My grandmother doesn't ask for anything she only tries to help and give. I just want to help give her her dream house she loves to cook, enjoy relaxing in her bed after a long day of work, and she always wanted a yard for all her grandkids.

Please help Team Makeover it would mean so much.

She is a 72 year old woman and has been a kindergarten teacher for over 20 years, raised 5 kids and till this day takes care of her baby girl Tiffany Cornelius who has multiple sclerosis. Tiffany was diagnosed when he was 16 and was fully paralyzed at the age of 30. All she does is go to work and come home to take care of Tiffany. They live in a small old house and my grandmother hasn't slept in a bed in I don't know how long. There's barely any space for her to move around, it's cramped and can only fit small number of people. It would truly be blessing if you makeover her house. Thanks for your time

  56. I am writing on behalf of my best friend. She is a single mother of a 11 year old. She lives in her parents old house that is literally falling apart. It really isn't safe for her and her daughter to be here. She has had the worst luck on every aspect in life, he husband is gone, and she has an 11 year old to take care of, she's a struggling mom and hairdresser the who could really use the help, and the home they live in is completely falling apart. The foundation is cracking in her walls and in her basement floors are lifted and an absolute hazard. You can barely walk in there. She really needs help. Her stairs are falling apart the basement has water damage the windows are falling apart. She really needs this. I want nothing more than her to be comfortable and not struggle anymore, especially for her daughter, she's lost so much, I can't stress that enough this little girl has had to make so many sacrifices since such a young age. I want this more than anything for them!

  57. Hi, my name is Aislinn and I am fifteen. I am writing on behalf of my grandparents who are the most loving and giving people you'll ever meet. They started their family young (at age 15 and 18) and always open their heart and their home to everybody else. Helping people in whatever way they can (including financially), even if they don't have anything to give, they'll find something. My grandma is at the point (not even 60 years old) were she gives everything she physically has and comes home from work to a house that's falling apart around her and can't even climb up the stairs to her bedroom or walk down the stairs to do simple things like the laundry. Their only bathroom is above the kitchen, where a pipe has been leaking and creating a hole in the ceiling, creating unsafe living conditions. From a regularly flooding basement to a garage that is literally falling apart and no longer usable, my grandparents have given all they have to satisfy the needs of others while sacrificing their own basic needs on every different level. It's hard for me to continue watching my grandma, who struggles with arthritis and the toll that it takes on her physically, and knowing that my grandpa, who never complains about anything, but has struggled as well and has worked at the same job for almost 45 years, live in a house that's unsuitable for anyone to live in. Please help me help the most sacrificing, loving, and giving people: my grandparents.

  59. I would dream of having a makeover. My mom and I have been living in a trailer for over 20 years. We currently live in a white trailer that stands on bricks. The floors in the living is caving in, we keep plastic over the windows so rain won't get in, and our house is invested with bugs. I am a sophomore at Jackson State University majoring in business. Having to take care of a mom who has had three strokes, two heart attacks, and recovering from heart surgery. My father is not really as active in my life as he should be. My mother and I look out for each other because we are all we have. If I was rich, I would give my mom the world. I hate seeing her cry and I hate that we have to struggle and that we have been struggling for so long. I would love to have my home made over.

  60. My name is Lute Takuvaka and over a year ago, I bought my parents house. It has been a good small house and has served many purposes. My parents wanted one of us to have the house and hopefully keep it within the family. This house has not been remodeled since before my parents bought it in the 1970s. They have tried to remodel it, but more of a cover-up. My parents came from the islands looking for better opportunities to live. They actually met and married here in Utah. My dad and mom has worked hard for us to have a better life. We all have graduated from high school, served LDS missions for our church, and some of us have College degrees and doing our best to make our parents proud. They have always wanted there house to be remodeled, but never had the time or means. Even with me now having it, I'm trying to pay of school loans and other bills myself. Years ago my dad got a bad infection that affected his kidneys. He's now on dialysis. Its hard for us to see our dad go from a strong healthy man who has done so much for us, to needing our help to even open a Jar of peaches or peanut butter. He tries his best to keep healthy and wanting still be around. My mom tries her best to help him out as well. My parents have been through a lot yet they continue to keep their faith in the Lord and continue to serve their community and family. If anything, I would just want my house (parents old house) to be remodeled for them, as a gift for all that they have done for us. I would do anything for my parents. I appreciate all the time I have for them while they are still around. I don't want to take that for granted.

Thank you for listening, I know this may not get anywhere, but it doesn't hurt to hope and have faith that it does.

    With sincere love and appreciation,

    Lute Takuvaka
    Salt Lake City, UT

  61. My husband's dream has been to raise his family on a farm. He believes the lifestyle, values, and lessons we could instill in our children on a farm are so unique and important. He has spent the last several years working hard through school and then building his small business up from nothing. We are finally at a place where we can invest in a home. Recently the perfect farm presented itself to us and I can tell my husband is over the moon about it. The only thing holding him back is the old tiny farm house that has been home to a smoker for 30 years. With the cost of the farm there would be very little leftover to make it livable for our 2 children and baby on the way. It would mean the world to me to be able to make this decision easy for him! He's worked so hard for our family, our church, and our community, and while he would say that he doesn't 'deserve' anything, I can't help but think he does deserve this. Please help me make his dream come true!

  62. Hello team!

I'd love to have a chance at fixing our home. We were living in my hometown when my youngest daughter was born. At 3 weeks old she got sick, spending a month in icu. My husband and I didn't want to leave her alone so we lost our jobs and our home. We ended up moving to my husbands hometown and moved in with his mother. We were in search of a home for ourselves when we come across a man willing to give us a single wide trailer as long as we could pay to move it. We got it moved and set up on our land and doing small things here and there we ran out of money before having a chance to fix the roof. Low and behold the storms came rolling in and ruined our house. It leaked and then grew mold inside. Since then, we have continued to stay with my mother in law while my husband works with our pastor at church sometimes for money sometimes for charity and I work for a home health agency taking care of the elderly making only $88 a week. I'd love nothing more than my home to be liveable so I can get our 2 children out of this apartment and have a yard to play in. They deserve so much more than what I am able to do for them at this moment. It would be a blessing to have you all out here to help.
    Thanks and God bless.
    Samantha

  63. Hello,I'd like to be considered for home makeover. My husband was a commercial fisherman, who was permanently injured on the job, when a full crab pot hit him in the head 3 years ago. Our youngest of three was just an infant at the time, so its been very difficult making ends meet, as his accident injury case is still in limbo after all this time, and even though my husband was a contractor in his younger years, hid physics limitations hold him back now from.even the most basic tasks. There is some things that need re-done badly in out home, like an unfinished semi- attached garage, we need another bedroom (toddler currently shares master bedroom.still), and saving the best for last (drum roll please): there's carpeting in the kids' bathroom… Still can't figure out what the previous owner was thinking with that, ha! We've been through hell and back since the accident happened, and it'd mean so much to our family to get this extra boost, and get these long needed repairs done to our home. Thank you

  64. I am sending in a special request for my beloved friend Pam Wood and her family. She is a amazing Women that know needs everyone to step up and help her through this trying time she is enduring.Around 3 years ago her husband had a stroke and has not recovered from it. She has been the sole provider for her and her family working 50 hours a week to make ends meet.Sad to say Pam here recently has been told she has a massive tumor on her uterus and they had to put tubes in her back to drain her kidneys because the tumor has wrapped around her kidneys and they were full of blood. She needed a blood transfusion of 6 pints before they could do this. And they said the tumor is cervical cancer but they can't remove it tell it shrinks and the radiation starts working. So she is now out of work for sometime. Her home is not the best but it is all they have. everything is falling apart in this home Black mold throughout the whole house the floor is falling apart under there feet the only thing that keeps them falling through is the carpet that is down. This is throughout the whole house. This worries me in her recovery not being in a sterile atmosphere. Please help her in this time of need. Many of us here in Eldon, Missouri would love to help you make this dream come true for her and her family.

    Thank You
    Sheila D

  65. My Name is Jay-shona Palmer, from South – Africa, could you come here. Our rand is verry low, you can do a lot. I was in a children's home, for 7 years I now live in Elandspoort, Thswane, South – Africa with my Biological single Mother of 3 children, mom has a disability and has 2 work on top of it. She has no formal education past G12. So the work she get is low paid. Without the work the walfare would not bring me home. And I really love my family, and need 2 stay with them. They expect mom 2 have her own home also, rentals are ecpensive here and if mom gets pay, she can only afford the accomodation. What about School fees, tv licence, debt. We now have a small 3×3 sink house, with sink roof. It is our new room, Grandfather – who is medically boarded because of pins in his legs, from motorbike accsidents. And also has Viriam's chorea ( the sint vitas danse ). But he build for the birds. A sink house, and then he converted it into a bedroom, for us girls ( all of us where molested, at young age, including grandma) We have a 3/4 bed and a single bed in there. It is 2 small for sis's bed. And the baby's bed. We have no propper cubboards for clothes. So we also only have a shower so malita-anne can't bath. And she is only 2, so she needs a bath. So they can't stay with us. Grandmother is also medically boarded, because of Myastenia Gravis and several opperations, and broken bones, my grandparents are pensioners and cannot propperly look after us. I don't know my father, and I hope you chould help us, we are 4 recently because under surcumstanses my brother had to move out because there. Was not enough food and place for his bed. I love helping dog's, we have 5 orphaned dogs, out of the street. In Elandspoort there is many street dogs, and I love my family a lot. Grandparents have only a rental for us 2 live in it's a batsehelor house.( 5 years ago government made grandma sighn papers, and promised 2 give us the house. But people who sighned after us has already received their title deeds) A tiny kitchen where 2 people cannot even cook. We, should be 7 whith my brother and sister and her daughter. Brother live whith his father because there is a room for him. We like plaing netball and sokker but just we don't have a soccer feald or netball feald to play on here in Elandspoort. We also want to help the aunty across the street, she is old and. has no one to help her. We also have no feald for the dogs 2 run, we don't even have enough food. All we eet is bred and milk. We are relly struggeling, I whud be so glad to be helped and have a proppor bed to sleep and a proppor room pleace can you help us. we whuld be verry happy for your help. We suffer a lot and I want my brother back in my home pleace can u help us we relly need your help. My grandparents bed is also really old, and grandfather has 2 eet soft food for his teath. But we don't have that mashine that makes food soft.my grandmother do not go out because of her teeth and get anxiety attacks. I have dislexia and can not spell and write propperley, a am always teased. I am in an all inglish school because there is no afrikaans school in our area. And we do not have a car to take me to the next area, where all my frends are going. I am doing my best though and have 70 persent for 3 subjects, I want to be a reflexologist one day. My mother and brother also hase dyslexia. My mother is a lefty so it is even worse for her. So much more to tell but hope this will get u interested. Regards Jay.

  66. I am Jay-shona Palmer, I am 14 jaers old and I relly think we (our family) and the comunity of Elandspoort, Thwane, South – Africa; need help. We will greatly benifit from featuring on your show for extreme home make overs and the elderley aunty across the street from us. I want to help her, I am in an all inglish school and it is my first jear in inglish. I struggle a lot because I am Afrikaans, but there is no afrikaans schools in our area all is far and needs transport, we do not have a car. I also have disleksia and depresion, I was in the children home for 7 jears. It is a place of safty, this jaer I came back to stay whith my mom and we relly need help. Mom was getting disability grant for her ilness, but had to start working for peanuts just to get me back home. My brother left, to go stay with his dad because they have more money. My sister was adopted, and has a daughter; and we don't see them, We don't hove a proppor house to sleep in we live in a sink, out house, wich was for the birds; and we made it for uus – with a sink roof. At the back of my grandparents government rental which was supposed to be transfered in her name 5 years back , it is a small 3x3m house, this government is letting us down, people who also sighned for the transfer of their papers after us has gotten their title deeds. Just not a few of us, We don't have even proppor kubit's or things for kitchen. Grandpa can only drink food because of his teath, and we have no machine to make food small. My ma is sick and have 3 brokken ribs and my grandpa was in an acsedent with a motorcyle he also has viriams corea and is medically boarded and gets a pension. Grandma is also medikally borded because of Myastenia Gravis, and she has also broken several bones; and had several opperations andd do not go out because she is feeling bad about her mouth and anxiety attacks. Same as grandpa, they also have a small batshelor house. It is vor 1 person only and we are 4 people with one shower and toilet and tiny open plan kitchen where 2 people cannot even cook. We should actually be 7 With the older siblings, but surcumstances like no bath for the baby, no place for my brother too sleep makes us 2 be only 4. My ma cannot actually work because of her disability, but she try-s and has only matric education. So she only get small jobs, and cant relly do it financially. I was rapded and my mom as well, and grandma. When we where young. We don't even have food in our house because of the rent, school fees, transport, medical expences, tv licence and dogs medical treatment. We only eat bred and milk for oure selfs, and we need relly help if you can help. We also took in 5 orphaned dogs, we have birds and we love annimals. If we could have a big house with a big jard, for free no renting. A year supply of grocaries and animal feed, it will help us tremendouseley. Because we can then pay the debts, cincereley. So much more to say this is short Jay,

  68. I am writing on behalf of myself,
I grewup at a rural area called Madombidzha at Louistrichardt Limpopo, I have been struggling since my childhood as I was trying to find a better life, being born in a poor family is really hurting. I had an accident on January 19/ 2014 and was injured on my right side. including the head, and the docter who admitted me in ICU, failed to asses me correctly, later on the same year after three months of discharged, I started to collupes on continuous occasion on the right side where I was injured, it start to happen every month and I do not have epilepsy, later. on 25/02 /2015 I went to see a neurosurgeon, and he ordered MRI for brain, only to find that I had injury on the right parental bone at the level of the vertex, the problem continues , then my vision also affected, coordination, speech become slurred, the right side of my body weakened on daily bases, on the 11 /12 /2015, a second MRI was done and I was admitted for five days, the neurologist who ordered the MRI confirm that I have ischaemic brain injury, it has affected my life badly, my dreams of building a better house for me and my son and her wife become shattered, and it has also affected my work also. I am now in and out of the hospital, and it almost left me with nothing financially, I am the bread winner in my family , all my parents are no longer alive, my mother died last year due to stroke at the age of 107, I am the last born in my family, we were 12, but now I' m survived with my two sisters who are also not working, and they have no income also, so my worry is the three room that I build when I was working part time job is too small for me and my son and his wife and child, and that if I become totally unable to work, where will I stay?at work my colleagues mock me because of my disability, I have bought some of the materials and bricks, but because of spending money to hospitals with the hope of maybe I will be better, I can no longer manage to complete the materials as I am working alone. I will be happy if the Extreme makeover home can help me thank you.
