  1. 2. Hello, my name is Haley Ragan. About two years ago in May of 2014 my boyfriend and his family lost a mother, sister, daughter, and a friend to breast cancer. I never personally got to meet her but I've heard so many sweet good things about her from everyone in this town that I feel like I know her. She was the type of woman to never let the cancer get her down, she worked to provide for her family until she could no longer speak. She just wanted what was best for her two sons, Andrew and Sean Amos. She was so talented in so many way. She loved to paint, garden, cook, work, and so many other things. All her life she lived in a small two bedroom run down house that is completely fallen apart, and still to this day her entire family still lives in this two bedroom house, her mother(nana), her husband(Kevin), two sons, Andrew and Sean, and recently I myself moved into this house because I was homeless. If this house doesn't get fixed soon none of us will have a place to stay. The floors are caving in, the roof is starting to get soft and mushy, everything is becoming cluttered, her own son is having to sleep in the living room…the basement is leaking and so unsafe because of mold. Her husband Kevin has really bad breathing problems and this house is so unsafe. We really need your help Ty. This family deserves a home makeover! We have so many people in this town that would be willing to help you wouldn't even need your crew! I would even help you as much as I possibly could. Anything for this family who has never asked for anything, but does everything they can for everyone else. Their nana is 80 years old and still gets up and cooks and cleans and does her best to take care of her grandsons. We would be so grateful for this amazing blessing from you. Thank you so much !!

  3. Please fix my home. I really don't have much of a sob story though. We had to downsize since my husbands job went electronic. Our new house is very dated. Built in 1984 and pretty much has not changed. All of my kids friends have nice houses. My main thing is the backyard is on a hill and it would have to be escavated which I got an estimate for like 25 grand. I of course do not have that money. I really am embarrassed when my kids want play dates and I have to compare their houses to mine. Ps I live in manalapan nj

  4. I have two beatiful girls. My fiance and I would love to be able to give them a new home. My youngest who is 3 has health problems that have occurred due to Mold that just keeps growing on the interior walls of our house. No matter what we do to try and get rid of the mold it just keeps coming back and is in almost every room of our house. Our house is small as it is. We have 5 people trying to live in a 2 bedroom house. Being able to have a home that fits my family comfortably without mold in it would be a dream come true.

  5. Hi, I'm hoping you can help my family. Almost a year ago my father decided to divorce my mother. My father moved away and left the house to my mother who cannot afford the place on her own. My husband and I along with our 3 children moved in with my mother to help her with finances. She has lived in this house since I was a child and I would hate to see it go so that's why we are here but the problem is there is not enough room. The home has 3 bedrooms which one is my mothers and the other two belong to my 2 older children who are 9 and 7. My husband along with myself and our 1 year old stay outside in what was my dad's shop. We made it (as much as we can) into one big bedroom. Its really hard not being under the same roof as my other 2 children at night. The shop does not have a heater and a space heater only go so far. I know there are alot of people that need your help but if possible please help my family so we can all be under the same roof again.

  6. Hi. My name is Samantha. My friend Kristi needs a new home! She, her husband, and her two kids live in a three bedroom home. The house is outdated and needs a lot of work. Kristi is a nursing student at the University of Tampa. She has been struggling to make ends meet for her family. Her husband is a foreman for a tree company and works 6 days a week 10 hours a day in the heat. This family needs help and deserves a great house for their family. I cannot think of anyone more deserving of this, Kristi is kind and working so hard to improve her life to provide for her family. Please consider turning her life around by helping her with your home! Thank you so much for taking the time to read this.

  7. Hi! My name is Amy. I would love for my parents to have an opportunity to start enjoying their lives and not worry about the home they are living in. My mom is a survivor of a long relationship of domestic abuse and has worked so hard her entire life to provide and keep my sister and I safe. My mother was able to move on and found her a great man she loves very much and she still works very hard to provide for her family and still help out her daughters and grandkids…so much so she is unable to live how she deserves. Between my mother and stepfather their are 5 daughters and 10 granchildren. We are a big family and we have not been able to all get together for years bc the house they live in before was hit by a hurricane in Galveston where they lost a lot. Now they are trying to fix up a lake house but money is tight bc they are so generous to their daughters and grandchildren. They are wonderful hardworking people who really deserve to have a home so they could concentrate on enjoying the time they have together and where we can enjoy being a family. Thank you for reading!

  9. please give us a call to assist us in some way that will help with the project at hand we have to be mindful of the running water that smells like sewer, we rarely can wash our clothes because of the running water out of the washer, a couple of people here have a touch of asthma but unable to do anything about or even start to fix the water issue.

  10. I live in the outskirts of Atlanta, Ga. I am submitting my mom home because we have some real problems and at this time we are not financially set to fix. The problems we're having are plumbing and landscape. When we go to take a bath we have to watch where we step or we will fall through the floor, with moisture set up in the plumbing..it may have caused mold and mildew in the home around the walls and sheetrock. I am desperately trying to find ways where we can find a major miracle that will remotely help us to start this project. Please help me to help her give us a contact

  11. Hi to everyone at Extreme Make Over! I'm a single mother who is unemployed and from a small family of 5, my parents got divorced when we were very young and my father then remarried to another wife and he tried to upgrade the house but due to ill-health that work wasn't up to the desired standard and sadly to say he passed away in January 2016 due to diabetics. Now I live with my 5 kids and 2 of my brothers kids who also passed on some years back. We literally live in a tiny four room house with no privacy for adults siblings because of insufficient space. The house becomes a pool of waters during rainy days(it is jst tiring and a disgrace), dust, rats because of the messed-up piping system and lately we seeing all sorts of different presticides. I will be very much glad if you guys can come through for us. Yours humble ms. Philadelphia Gama, South Africa

  12. Hi! I'm Zoe! I'm 13 years old. Here is my story.
My father left us in 2008. We (mom, brother, and I) couldn't afford to live in our house anymore and so we sold the house and moved to Washington State to be near family and where my mom could find a good job to support us. 3 months after our move, my father was pronounced dead in a severe car accident. He did survive and now lives with my grandparents because he has severe traumatic brain injury. My mom moved us back to North Carolina because she said with his injuries he would never be able to visit or spend time with us on his own. He has memory loss and doesn't remember being married to my mom and things like that. But she wanted us to know him and be near him because he is our dad. 3 months after moving back and starting a new school again I was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes. My mom and I both have ADHD. Focusing on the ins and outs of my disease keep mom and my brother and me all hopping. But we are doing it! Anyway when we moved back we had to move in with my grandmother. My mom found a job teaching at the local high school and had plans to buy us a home within 2 years. My brother then 16, developed a type of colitis with bad cells. My mom had to take a temporary teaching job to be with my brother who underwent 3 different surgeries, one of which they removed his entire colon and rectum. He was in the hospital a lot. He had to take school at home half of his senior year. But he's good. He is in his first year at UNC CHAPEL HILL. He is really really smart and is getting all his school paid for through a merit scholarship. He was even the high school student body president and a lot of other things. But this last summer the school didn't have another opening for teaching. We live in rural Appalachia and jobs are really hard to get. Also last summer, my grandma sold her house and we had to move in a rental home. Anyway I have a dog Bella and if it isn't a lot of trouble would you give my mom and I a real home and a home for my brother to come visit when he has breaks at college? My mom has gone back to school as a premed student and is working as a CNA while she hopes to go to the nearby medical school. My dream is to live in a home a real home that the doors work, that I'm not embarrassed to have my friends parents drop me off. My mom is real neat and makes anywhere we are like a home but she doesn't think we will ever have our own home. Anyway that's all I guess. Zoe
I was diagnosed with Type 1 Juvenile Diabetes at age 9.

  13. My name is gretchen. My story has so many details that I have literally written a book about it and now I've begun public motivational speaking with my life trials as examples. The part of my story that involves my house started in may 2006. We just had a new construction house built for us. Fall of 2006, my husband was packing for deployment and I was preparing my two young children for this new life walk. Two weeks before he was to deploy, I started having neurologic issues (from multiple sclerosis) that quickly left me a black blind invalid in a new town and a neighborhood with only two completed houses. One thing in our favor was that while the builder would not modify my house to make it ascessable, I had taken out several walls before I lost my abilities. They were not cleanly finished, but they were open enough to get around.
The end of the following year, I was starting to get many abilities back when I was diagnosed with the brca breast cancer gene. And we let my mother in law move in. That fall, we had major leaking on the east side of our house that needed repair. The next year I had two surgeries for double mastectomy and complete hysterectomy, and one for my sinuses. My mother in law had two surgeries on her heart and she passed away later on in the year, when we had another major flooding in our house, this time in the west side of our house. This flooding happened two more times because our house did not have dirt properly graded away from the house. We still have regular leaking into our house from the front side. My daughter and I painted 2 coats of elastomeric paint down to the foundation which seems to have slowed the leaking allowed on the east and west sides. In fall 2009, my husband was laid off from Kennedy space center and the housing bubble burst so we could not sell the house. We temporarily relocated to tampa where my husband found employment. I moved myself and my kids back into the house in january 2010 because I was going to start graduate school.
My house must be a sick house, maybe with mold from all the leaking because my daughter and I constantly deal with asthma and allergy issues here. I wish we could stop the leaking.
I could not make any more corrections to the house once I started graduate school. The stress of the schooling caused me to require mega doses of iv steroids every 8 weeks to help with neurologic issues. During graduate school, we also brought in three other teenaged boys to help them graduate from high school. Two of them graduated the same day I did from seminary. I have not been able to work a full time job since then. So I have been trying to fix my house as much as I can with depleted resources. We burned through quite a bit of revolving credit and loans when we had the extra mouths to feed. Now that every one is about out of the house, my husband and i are left in a house that has not been good since we moved in 10 years ago and we cant aford to move anywhere else. This is where I am all day long. I do my writing from here and constantly pray for windfall to help us fix this house and make it more conducive for my needs.

  14. We are a family of 7 struggling just to put food on the table. My husband has lost his job due to the poor oil industry and We have 5 kids all with health/medical needs therefore I can not easily find a job out of the home. For the meantime my husband is serving at a restaurant making minimum wage. This winter the flashing and shingles started flying off our roof, the basement started leaking due to poor grading in the yard, we have discovered black mold in our basement, half of our appliances don't work, we have no lights in one of our bedrooms so kids need to share the small space, we are only down to one fully working bathroom, both our doors to the outside leak and due to breathing issues of our children we need to replace all the carpet in our house. Unfortunately due to hard times we are unable to do anything about any of the issues we are experiencing. Please we need this so bad as we have no where to turn for help and this is really effecting the children's health.

  15. Hello my name is Hannah Gavin! I am a member of the Kappa Delta Sigma Iota chapter at the University of Washington. I am submitting this application on behalf of my sorority and its members. We currently have a beautiful house where over 100 members live. However, because of the recent increases in recruitment numbers, the amount of girls that live in the house has dramatically increased. Unfortunately due to this increase, members have been forced to find alternative housing, which negatively impacts their college experience. Our house has the potential for a more functional living experience if we had the support of an organization like this.

Our chapter is dedicated to philanthropic events that raise awareness and money for the organizations we support. Currently, our chapter holds the record for raising the most money in a single day!! Last year at our annual Reach for the Sky Auction that supports Prevent Child Abuse America, we raised over $112,000. This is something we are very proud of!!

We would love to opportunity to promote our philanthropies as well as improving our college experience through a remodeled house! Plus, this could be a great opportunity to have a new twist to Extreme Makeover: Sorority Edition!!!

  16. Hello my name is Jennifer webb. I am thirty years old with a two and three year old. My wish for mom who is 54 years old, wants a bigger house. I currently live with her. In a three bedroom home. With one bath. And 7 others living here as well. To help my mom make ends meet. My husband who is a miltary vetran is has been going through difficulties, from the military. My mom depends on me for alot. I depend on her. She is my rock. Currently the house we live in has kitchen drawers missing. A small bathroom. A garage that is not up to par. Three bedrooms. And back patio which we tried to make into an extra room. We all try to work together but there is just not enough space. My kids don't have a room for thenselves. One sleeps with me and the other with my mom. They do not have a playroom just for them. My kids are my life and my kids are my moms. My wish and prayer is that she gets a bigger house. She works so hard and it kills me to see her work just to matain the home we have now. My sister and her fiancée live with us as well, as they work just to help her with something gor the utilities. She loves where we are just prays that one day she can have a bigger home. I thank you for the chance and opportunity to attempt to give my mom her wish and a answer to her prayers. Thank you.

  17. My best friend Kim Grimminger just lost her home to the Valley Fire in Hidden Valley, Ca. On Sept. 12, 2015. Shes been living on the property since they let us back in. So here we are trailer park living. I've moved my RV her at her request. She was alone here aside from her 10yr. Old German Shepard, Ruger and her 11yr. Old Siamese mix, Ibanez her indoor cat. Their lives have been tossed into a giant emotional blender of ups and downs consisting of mostly downs. Kim is a young property owner of three acres and what once resided here, a simple yet comfortable 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom double wide. Nothing fancy, just comfortable. She has always been a fantastic friend opening up her home to friends that were less fortunate than her. Big hearted as she is she still somehow finds a way to help anyway she can. F.E.M.A. has been a great help with clearing all the debri and giving whatever funds that were allotted for such a disaster which was direly needed, but not quite enough to set up a dwelling. She and her pets have been living in a older model 5th wheel slide-out for the last 6 months. Shes had a hard time letting go of the house her and her mother once lived in. One day she arrived home after a long day at work to find her mother deseased. Kim aquired this property after a long sibling battle of 7yrs. Where she (the youngest) was finally able to buy them out. Proving to her brothers that she needed to be here, that she was responsible enough at 28 years old to not only cater to the house and the three acres it sat on, but that it was the closest place to her mothers heart. Shes fought strong to have gotten where she is, her heart is bigger than most as she still opens her property to her friends wich are less fortunate. She deserves to feel at home again with a proper foundation and a roof overhead for herself and her pets which have been distraught eversince. Please be her Hero and help my Hero…. Drea

  19. This is for my mother who deserves much more than what I can give her. She is a single mother that raised my brother and I by working 2 jobs and fighting to give us a future. She struggled to provide for us- but managed to do so in an amazing way. Unfortunately her doing this for us never really allowed her to have a home for herself that she really deserves. Today, she sadly is very overweight, a struggling diabetic, and has been diagnosed with a heart condition and has had to have heart surgery due to this. With the ongoing illness and complications, her medical expenses are high and she battles to make it by every month- year- etc. Her home is a very old home that she cannot really fix or update due to all of this. The plumbing fails, the doors and windows aren't secure, the roof leaks, the foundation is terrible causing floor slants and wall cracks. The house is nowhere near worth what she is paying for it- yes she is still paying for this old home. It would be best for her to get out of there and get something else but she struggles so much that she is afraid to do so and risking to start all over and fail, being left with nothing. She is set to retire soon and it scares me that she will be spending lots of time in her current unstable home. I want her to have a safe, comfortable, clean and stable home for her to finally relax, rest and enjoy. FOR HER! I wish I could help my mother more and give her a home that she deserves. Unfortunately- I myself have also been diagnosed with an illness and have some of the same struggles she has but with my own family. My illness is permanent and life threatening and at 35 years of age, is already putting me close to falling on disability. This is very hard for me as a son, a man, not being able to do much for my mom. My brother and I are all she's got. My mother is 1 of 3 children. Her older brother passed away this past Summer 2015 to diabetes and kidney failure… but the last straw that was drawn to make me write this note in to you guys today- came earlier this week when my mom's last living sibling, her older sister, has been given only weeks to live due to liver failure. My mother is devastated! She needs this lift!! I am so scared that a combination of sadness, depression, loneliness, the struggle of finances, her illness…. all inside of her current rundown old house- could finish her.
I really don't know what to write to you guys or if this note is really even going to reach you- but please, if you would, consider my mom as a candidate for a new home makeover. Help her with the lift of a new home. This would really not only change her life, it could really save her life.
Thank you so much for the consideration.

  20. Hi!
My husband and I bought our starter home in 2013. We've recently learned that there is mold growing (back) under the house. We didn't realize how much it would cost to get rid of mold. We had been trying to fight it on our own with bleach, however it continues to come back. There is an old basin under our house that needs to be removed in addition to mold treatment. We are being torn between the decision to abandon our home and either face foreclosure or continue to pay for the home while it rots away. My husband and I as well as "our" (my step) daughter have severe allergies and cannot live in that condition, nor is it safe. I am in bankruptcy court and cannot purchase a new home. There is so much more to our struggles and our story and I'd love a chance to share the full details.

  21. Im writing on behalf of my mother, stepdad and my niece beautiful about four years ago my mom was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer and yes to God be the glory she is still here with us. My stepdad hurt his self on his job and have to have surgery on his back so he is out on disability. They got custody of my niece when she was about 4 years old she had multiple problems when she was born they said she was blind, they'd also put a shunt and a clock in her head the doctors said that when the clock stop she will no longer be with us well, the clock stop a long time ago.My parents need help with there house, the house need a lot of work to be done to it they try to fix it up but with hospital visit and clinic visits they dont have enough my uncle moved in with them to help but he got hurt on his job and had to be out for a couple years,he also bad to go through surgery and physical therapy it was one thing after another. The house foundation is all messed up one side of the house is higher than the next they tried to fix up the bathroom but wasn't able to get a new tub.the kitchen needs a whole lot of work in it.Im just asking for help for my family so they could live comfortably.

  22. To whom it may concern,
I am applying for a family that I take care of Momday-Friday. This family has been through everything you could possibly imagine. The oldest daughter has cerebral palsy, and had a stroke when she was still in the womb, so her whole left side does not work. She has the mentality of a 4-8 year old and is completely dependent on other people to help her. She watches your show every single day, and has all your episodes on her tablet. The mother of this family has complete kidney and pancreas failure, and is on dialysis. She also is completely dependent on someone else as she is very weak and cannot walk either. She is in and out of the hospital all the time, anywhere from 1 week to 3 month visits. The father is capable, but works two full time jobs to keep up with bills. As you can imagine, taking care of two disabled adults is very expensive. He works all the time, and then comes home to work during all his time off. This family could really use some good news, all the news that comes their way, always seems to be bad news. I really hope that you will consider them as an option as they could really use your help to ease their housing pains. The house is very small and is not compatible for the two wheel chairs. Neither of them are able to bathe, due to the bathrooms being very small, and dangerous for a disabled person. I bath pan, bathe them because the bathrooms are not accessible. As for the bedrooms, the mother ends up sleeping on a chair every night because she is worried about her daughter waking up and not being able to get out of bed because she is not capable to work the wheelchair alone. Thank you for taking the time out of your day to consider this family!

  23. My grandmother passed aeay and left me a house in decent condition at the time.I was happy all was well. My best friend passed away, my mother got a divorce. The town I was living in had become too much of a reminder every day every street I drove I just saw my friend so I moved. Later, since my mother had gotten a divorce she lost the land my grandmother gave her she had no where to stay so I decided to let her live in my home.. my grandmother always warned me about such things but I thought okaay shes my mother I have to help her. Well I had left for only a year I came back to a disaster. My mother and I even though it seems sad to say dont talk anymore and if you saw the house you would see why. Now that im back in my home town trying to regroup and actually start my life I have no where to stay. Im ridden with guilt because I let my grandmothers home become a trash pit.. I just want to go back to school get my life on track plus have an actual bed to lay down on I sleep on couches as if now. To start: theres three broken windows, A hole in the roof with black mold, A hold in the wall leading outside and exposing a circuit, the floors are rotting away even the sub flooring the laminate is bubbling because its absorbed so much moisture. Umm. The shower is broken it needs to be painted and scrubbed and I have no funds for any of this and a lot has to do with the actual foundation of the house and I know if I dont figure out something soon I may not have a house worth saving please for the love of whatever you believe in help me. :/ im really tired of worrying. Ive already cleaned a lot I cleaned a five ft pile of trash out of the house. Everything was covered in animal feces and I pushed it all out th front door. I opened the door for the first time and a curtain of roaches fell on me(exterminated since then)but im traumatized. There was feces on the windowsill and cat litter directly on the floors of rhe house.I threw away every single appliance I owned. I scrubbed my walls for three hours to get them clean. I found a rotten ham on the counter and a fish under the sofa there were chicken eggs throughout the house.. I dont understand how anyone in their right mind lived in such conditions I have nightmares about this house as of right now. Its making my entire life a swirling pool of depression because I cant fix this alone.

    ** Please help me. Peace&love.

  24. Hello Im a 18 yrs old girl. We lost my house. We haven't house. I have a 1 brother and 1 little sister. Please help me

  25. I'm trying to get a home makeover for my moms do dad. She's 58 a mother of 3 children that she raised all by herself. She has 3 grandchildren. Also another step child with another 3 grandchildren. She's been thru horrible things and had to run away with her children to keep them safe. She's worked so hard her entire life. She has a work in progress home that's mostly 2 trailers falling apart. Rats get in all the time. The ceilings are caving in with water damage. The cabinets that hold her dishes leak. Her and her husband work full time for low pay and barely have the money to get by. Her husband is a vet too. All they've ever wanted is a small home that isn't falling apart with room for the family to visit without feeling ashamed of the place their grandchildren visit cause they might fall thru the floor. Please help my parents. They are such loving and amazing people. Their home needs fixed before its destroyed in a storm. ?

  26. Hi I'm Brittany and I'm writing this to try and and get help for my mother and father in-laws. We live in a small.town called mcarthur in the state of ohio. I'm not sure how any of this works but I'm trying lol. My father in law has Parkinson disease and seizures and can't do the desperate work that needs done. My mother in law has savior Asmara and due to the mold from the house it's hard for her to breath while in the house. They both took on a big responsibility for being there age. They took in a little blind girl to care for and we'll there house in just not in any shape for any of them to be in.the house means so much to them being that it was my mother in laws mom's house and she grew up there. My father in law is unable to work due to his condition so they have little income and can't afford to fix it nor have the health to do so. There floors are falling in and just last year there calling fell in in there kitchen and had to have it fixed. It is such a worry to weather there going to make it from one end of the house to the other with out falling through. They do so much to help anyone but yet we can't find help for them. If u could please help me help them u don't have any idea what it would mean to this family. For them to be safe would be a huge ball lifted off our sholder. We are big family people and when one hurts we all hurt. Thank you for taking the time to read this and as always GOD BLESS!!!!!

  27. I am seeking help for my family. I have a family of 8 and the only person that is working is my husband. My husband is a hard worker and he works a lot of over time hours so we can have a home. Having 6 kids is hard financially but we cant let our children be homeless. we have several things wrong with our home and we are desperately in need of help. our roof is busted open and leaks when it rains, our floors has holes in them and you can see the ground through the holes, we have several weak stops in our floors that we have to walk around, our sliding door and back door has weak rotten wood holding them in, that is filled with mold. it is hard raising our children in our home when all of our money goes to our light bills from the holes in the floors and ceiling. we barley have money to spend on them. our children don't have company over due to our house conditions. they are ashamed of it and we don't want them to be ashamed of where they live. we owe 3 years left on our mortgage but we don't know if our children or our home will last. we don't want to move from our home but if necessary we will if it causes health problems to our children. we are trying to do all we can to make our house a home and fix what we can but we are in need of help.

  28. Hello my name is Daisy and I want to nominate my parents for an extreme makeover. I have actually wanted to do this for years now! When I was 3 years old my 12 yr old brother was in a drive by shooting that left him in a vegetative state. Doctors told my mother he would eventually get better and start regaining his speech and movement. Now here we are 24 years later and my brother is still in a vegetative state. He is unable to talk, walk, move on his own, has to be turned, tube fed, diaper changed etc. Both my parents especially my mother have taken great care of him throughout his life. My mother is his primary care giver and wakes up throughout the night to make sure his needs are met. She has never given hope that one day my brother by the grace of God will be healed. She is a very sweet, strong, and giving person. My dad is a floor installer and sometiems there isn't jobs out there for him to do. He has gone a couple months without working in the past. The house needs some work which my parents can't afford. My mother always talks about how she would love to re-do the house and make it pretty and brighten it up because in her words it looks "depressive" which she already struggles with depression. Since she is my brothers primary care giver she can't leave the house a lot and when she does her time is pretty restricted. I would love for her to live more comfortably in a house that she loves along with my dad and brothers. My mother has had a very hard life and I would absolutely be forever grateful if extreme makeover could bring a little bit of happiness in to her life!
    Thank you for your consideration!

With the day care I feel she has no place of her own and there's things that she needs to have some that I can't do or fix myself so I just need someone to help figure out a new layout and get things a bit more sectionalized. She's a single mom with two kids and has the day care at her home and works another job. She works 7 days a week and just needs a break given to her and a home of her own to come home to.

  35. Hi ABC, I am a mother and grandmother who are really desperate and that is why I am asking if you please, would not be able to help my children. I was a single mom and brought up my children by myself. I could hardly afford the basics to bring them up,and could therefore not afford a good education. My first born son is married and have five children age Ten; Eight; Six; Four and One, They were such a happy family,he lost his job because the Company he had worked for liquidated and lost everything, they sold all there furniture just to put food on the table and now they have nothing more to sell.He had to give his car back to the bank too. they first stayed in a caravan, then in somebody's garage where there were no sanitary facility, what got to me was when my Ten year old grandson told me, he knows now why children is taking there own lives, because it is not easy when you have nothing, his friends all have houses with their own rooms and lots of clothes, but they have nothing and he can not even tell him where he lives as he have no place, and I can see the other kids suffers too, seeing their faces when other kids having nice things and it seems, the time they had all is long gone. I got so worried to leave them there in the garage, that I asked my husband if we could please fetched them to stay with us, but I can see they still not as happy as they were before as it is not their own house and my place is so small, my grandson still need to sleep in the lounge and still does not have a room, My Daughter in law is the best mommy I have ever seen who stand in all this suffering, she told me if she could just have a house for their children , she know they could be a family again, but my son tried everywhere and still battle to find someone who would just give him a change to proof he can do the work, without a red seal , he is such a hard worker and I can see he suffers too, because he cannot provide for his family at the moment, Please if you could just help them to stand up again and be happy again, then I will be happy too, because if your children suffer and you not in the position to help it breaks you. I so badly which that I was in the position to do more for them, as me and my Husband's salary is not even enough to provide for all of us to get through the month,Please ABC could you help

  36. Hi My name is Monique I live in Terrell, Texas. My great grandmother is 83 years old and my great grandfather is 84 years old. My great grandmother is my the only thing I know as a true mother ,she had 13 children of her own an took care of foster children and then took care an raised my younger sister and I.While my biological mother has been incarcerated throughout mine and my younger sister and brothers whole life. My younger brother knows one of my great aunts as his mother and lives in California , when he was born she and my uncle went to get him from the prison, so that he wouldn't be taken into foster care as she did for my sister and i. Though she knew age had become her, she let her daughter as I know as my great aunt to keep and raise him. My younger sister who just recently turned 16 has fallen an strays away from us every chance she gets. We've all done what we can yet she steady runs and refuses our helping hand. Sadly as of now we know not where she is! Things have been so stressful for my momma (granny). She's done everything in her will to get around an do what needs to be done but eventually her hip gave out on her so now she "walks on 6 legs" as she says it. Now all she does is sew an crochet blankets and quilts. My Papa does what he can although he can hardly hear but he does whatever she asks to make her happy. This woman has opened her home to a stranger I brought in who mother was physically and emotionally abusive . Made her feel comfortable and loved when she had no where to go. Please I know it may not be a chance but to have you guys rebuild this old house would be a blessing from God.

  37. I am writing on behalf of my adopted mother, she welcomed me into her life just a few years ago when I was struggling with depression, and she herself had just lost her mother and father. Words alone can't describe on how much this woman has done for me nor the impact she has made in my life. I would like to do something special for her because she deserves it. Can explain

  38. this isnt a typical request but this is for my school it's in desperate need of repairs it's falling apart so bad that they had to shut down school in the beginning of the week and teachers and kids had pieces of the roof falling down and hitting them in the face today. The roof is super old and due to the weather conditions of it freezing and melting got so bad that the roof is finally giving out and we don't have the funds to fix it watch for yourself please help us fix our school it's literally crumbling around us even though I'm a senior it's the fact that I shouldn't be scared to walk into a building and worry about if the roof is going to give out or not where I'm suppose to learn and grow as a person and worry about graduating not the roof
same thing for future generations please watch this for yourself and see how fast our school is crumbling

  39. Hello! My husband and I began building a home in the summer of 2015. We were left some land and funds for the home in the will of a family friend who passed away. Using a custom home builder whom is also a friend of the family, many delays have occurred along the way. We moved out of our rental under the impression that the home would be complete no later than October 2015. Our new home is still not done, and is sitting stagnant at the drywall phase. We have two kids, 8 and 4, and are expecting a baby boy in early May. Us and our two children are now staying in a hotel going on months at this point. I am terrified that if it doesn't get finished we will have to bring our newborn home to a hotel room! Please help us finish our house!

  40. I am writing on behalf of my mother she is living in a unstable house. She has lived here for over 6 years. She takes care of her granddaughter and her grandson. My mother is unemployed the only income she has is disability checks and ssi. She had been trying to fix the house up for herself by herself but she cannot afford everything she needs. Once she fix one thing something else brakes. She has an all electric house with partial plugs working, bad plumbing, and weak floors. She can't lift more than 20 pounds due to the disk in her back. My mother deserve to live in a home where she's safe and it contributes to her disabilities. She need this, her home is falling apart and there is nothing she can do about it. Please help so she won't have to worry about her home falling on her while she's sleeping.

  41. Good day home edition. I would like to start off by saying thank you for everything you guys do. Your show has brought me to tears countless times. I am so happy for all those people that have received such a wonderful gift. I would like to ask if you could please help my mum by doing this for her. The amount of hurt and pain my mother has been through throughout her life brings me to tears every time I think about it. From the tender age of 17 her son was taken away from her, ripped from her arms and she couldn't do anything about it. She has been abused by her husband and left the relationship damaged. She was dragged on the streets. She was caused immeasurable amounts of pain and distress. Eventually when she found love again, that too was snatched as her husband died in a head on collision with a truck. This destroyed her. She now is a single parent of 4 children and is barely managing to make ends meet. She takes care of her mother who is 76 years old. My mother has a heart of gold and will help anyone who needs her. She isn't appreciated as much as she deserves. We struggle to get by, she doesn't have a house of her own and we are renting in a property where the owner makes her feel worthless.i am helpless I cannot give her what she deserves. She will do anything to see people around her smile, she is an amazing person and I would be overjoyed if you could help me in honouring her. She has a dream of opening up an orphanage so that she can help those less fortunate, however she feels like it will never come true due to all the obstacles in her way. She is blacklisted because she had to take loans to survive she can't buy her own property or house. Please help. May God richly bless you all for all the amazing things you people do. We love you

  42. You are a great team doing great and wonderful things for people you don't even know. God bless you. Please do what you do for the rest of the world, especially in Africa where there are a lot of people who have never had a home and will never have one. Please may you have the African edition of your kindness. Thank you for the wonderful work you do, God bless you beyond your expectations Amen.

  43. My name is Brandi, I have 2 girls one 11, 4 and other on the way. My husband and I have been married for 14 years. He works out of state to try and do better for our family. It's basically kept us seperated for 10 years he lives in Lousiana in a pop up camper and I stay in Arkansas with our children. We have tried to fix our home up but ran out of money fast. We have recently found out some of the work we had done 4 years ago needs to be redone. The bathroom floor is rotten where it was remodeled 4 years ago. Our home needs to be leveled the seams are rotten. We possibly bought a home with termite damage. We live in a 2 bedroom home. Our central unit we bought a new one and had all new work out in 4 years ago as well. It's had problems and the company that did it went under. We called another ac to look and see what going on with it. Basically it's been leaking in our attic this whole time, all the work is wrong which is why it's caused our unit to malfunction, it all gas to be redone and we got a estimate its 5700.00. We are at our wits end with what to do. We need more room due to the children but we can make this home work. We had puppies and they have chewed up most of the tile in our kitchen floor, which needs to be done we just haven't had the funds to gut kitchen and redo it. We live in one of the oldest homes in our neighborhood. I was talking to my friend Tonya and her husband James about the situition we were face with they told me to write to you and tell you my story. I never thought about doing that, but here I am asking for help. Please help me. Brandi prescott, ar Thank you

  46. I am writing regarding my nephew Corey and his family of 5. Corey is self employed and was housing his family in an RV with and addition while building a home bit by bit on his limited income. In February 2016 Corey's wife awoke to thunder and lightning and noticed a flickering light under their bedroom door. Opening the door she saw flames waist high. Mom and Dad had less than 2 minutes to carry their 6 yr old autistic son, their 3 yr old and their 6 wk old out to their pick up truck. There they watched their bedroom ceilings cave in and their RV home burn to the ground. The RV had been struck by lightning and the volunteer fire dept. could not get up the icy roads in the rural community to put the fire out. ALL was lost. Now the family is housed in a 24' trailer while Dad tries to clear away the debris so they can begin again. There was no insurance on their temporary structure or their belongings. All was lost including their autistic son's communicator and their other teaching aids. At this time in their lives even the simplest structure for them to live in would be a Blessing. Thank you all for the work you do for those in need. Sincerely, Caroline Karny

  47. Hi we are the Trolard family. My husband and I are high school sweethearts. We met when I was 14 and have loved each other since. Unfortunately his family moved to Florida when I was 18 and life has not been a easy road for either of us. Jamie, my husband came back into my life in 2012. He has signed on and worked his but off supporting our family. He worked on the road as a cell tower climber or tower hand and has never smoked or been unhealthy a day in his life. This man is the most selfless, giving, compassionate man I know. Jamie loves his family with his entire heart. In September 10th 2014 While I was 6 months pregnant high risk with our 2nd daughter together Jamie was diagnosed with a very rare and advanced small intestinal cancer. This was 4 days after he turned 31 and 8 days after I had to ressign from my job for medical reasons involving our unborn baby. Since then Jamie has been fighting for his life with numerous rounds of chemo and over 15 hospital stays. He has been as the hospital so often. That I almost died from a Mera infection from nursing my baby in hospital facilities just to be around my husband. We lost everything we as a family have worked for. We moved in with my father who has given up every inch of his falling apart home to our now 1,2 and 9 year old daughters. Jamie is in the hospital as we sit right now and our daughters have RSV because coming back and fourth to be with him they are exsposed to so much. Our youngest daughter also almost died from 2 different types of pnumonia in November, she started having seizures and was had resitory failure. We stayed at the hospital again missing thanksgiving and our 2 year olds 2nd birthday just so she didn't get exsposed again to more illness. We have only two room and a home that is falling apart and our basement has backed up into our home many times leaving us Sick with stomach flu and my husband battling cancer on chemo trying to help as much as he can so my father is not burdened with our problems more. We sure could use a life line right now. If only for our daughters to have a bed and a home that is safe from illness and safe for their father so he can get as much time as possible with his babies before what the Drs say the inevitable will happen. He is terminal and chemo is only buying is time together. Please help make our home safe for our girls so we can focus on quality time together. 🙁

  50. A few days ago my world was turned upside down again, My friends and I have had a really ruff 5 years, due to uncontrollable things that keep knocking us down, my friend had lost his mom a couple years back leaving him and his siblings with nobody left but themselves to help each other, and as all familys has there disfuctions and addictions, problems that always would have them at there moms home when they had no place to go. and when she was gone, my friend the youngest of the 7 took what little money that was left to them and bought these two buildings. In hopes of having a safe place for his brothers and sisters and friends to go. Now these buildings were no prize and in facted the previous owners were pack rats and raised rabbits for carnivals prizes. it was a horable but after 2 years of cleaning and fixing and getting electric up to code and livable, We were seeing a light at the end of this tunnel, we had in the 1st building had 2 apts and a store front that we were going to open aswell and had lots of stuff gathered to do so. for the 1st time we all thought and had security in having a home where no one could just kick us out it was ours. but just a few days ago a fire had taken that security away leaving 5 of us once again homeless and no where to go. and in a small town theres not much funding or services to help us. but we are surviers and stick together so we all our in a motel room with one bed for the moment but here shortly we do not know what or where we will be able to lay our head down, everything we had burnt our means to make money aswell. I don't know if you can help but at this point we are trying to reach out and see if God will give us another chance in helping us help ourselves pull together and creating a home for us. thank you for your time. sincerely, the misfits

  51. Hi Ty, I am applying for the best inlaws, you see they have 2 handicapped adult children, and also have 4 grandchildren they are raising, and just about two years ago one of there daughters had gotten into some trouble and lost her children. well instead of them going to foster homes they again stepped up and took in two more kids and now have guardianship on them…but they live on a very fixed income without help from the kids parents. and just about a year ago had to move. they got them a small shed/cabin that they are currently living in now, with just a loft on each end and no bedrooms and 11 people in the home its very crowded, and they are not ones to complain or ask for help ,I just know what these people deal with on a daily base. because of the grandfather not being able to work and the grandmother taking care of them all, they really struggle. and if you ask me they could really use all the help they can get. so please think about helping.
and thanks for allowing me to tell my story.

  54. The moment I walked through the kitchen with our realtor 15 years ago, I knew we had found our home. The afternoon sun was shining through the windows and just warmed my heart. My children have been born and raised here. We never expected to be parents to a special needs child, but our middle child, has shown us the world in ways we never would have seen without him. However, his care has taken its toll along with my husband having a stroke/surgery last May. We are finally getting back on our feet. However, the outside of our home needs significant repairs and the inside remodeled to better address our son's needs and the work is more than my husband can manage alone. Any help would be wonderful. Thank you for the opportunity to apply.

I am seeking help for a very needy family.
My friends daughter, husband and two small children ages six and four live in a mini home that is full of black mold! The walls, ceiling, and floors all contain the above mentioned toxic substance.
The dad has PTSD and is unable to work. The mom works everyday but is barely able to keep the regular bills up to date. They are in very great need of help as the mold spores are beginning to affect the children's health.I am a senior citizen on a fixed income and do what I can to help.My friend loves her daughter and grandchildren very much but is a seasonal worker who is also having a hard time. She does what she can to help often going without herself.I would be forever greatful if you could find it in your heart to help this family.I am more than ready to help with the work if accepted as is my friend.Thank for your consideration.

  57. Hi my name is Alexzandra Iverson and I am writing on behalf of my grandma Patricia Iverson. I signed up for Home Extreme Makeover because my grandma has worked hard all of her life and she deserves something better than what she is living in now. Their is a lot of stuff that needs repairing and that is falling apart because the house is so old and it's not in the family funds to get a new house or to get anything fixed. Thank you for giving me this advance of bilding my grandmother a new house!

  58. I am writing on behalf of my Uncle Ralph. The house where he lives, the Nettleton family farm house, was built during the civil war. He is on disability and can't afford to keep up with repairs. He needs a bedroom put in on the ground floor because he has trouble getting up and down the stairs. He also needs a modern heating system put in. He can't get much sleep at a time right now because he has to feed the fire to keep heat in the house. My Uncle has given shelter and aid to many people over the years. It is time someone helped him. It would also be a shame to let a house with so much history come to ruin. Please save this house and do something to help a deserving man.

  59. During chemotherapy treatment the bottom half of my heart was damaged thereby causing cardiomyopathy which I'm now dealing with. My bones and joints have also been damaged. I need my bathroom enlarged to included a whirlpool tub that will assist me with my water therapy. This is something I cannot afford to do on my income. When I was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer I had just started my own business…I lost everything, my home my business and had to live off my savings…that now also gone…but I am thankful to be alive and cancer free!!!!

  61. Me my mom her boyfriend and my little brother we just have a struggle with everything me and my brother have to share a room and I have my own room but it's upstairs and it's cold up there and it's like out of order with the ceiling falling apart when it rain and it comes threw to downstairs and starts leaking we have a washer with no dryer and our kitchen walls are philthy and one of our cabinets fell the room me and my brother sleeps in is just to small for both of us I'm almost 16 and still don't have my own room I just want a better house and tired of trading clothes with my friends .

  62. I want to nominate my boyfriend and his mom for this upcoming season. My reason for doing so, is she is a single mom who is unable to work right now because she recently got attacked by a dog and is covered in over three hundred stitches, seven staples to the head, and nose reconstruction. Her son is twenty-one trying to get a house so he can settle down, but he has to pick up his mom’s bills plus take care of his own. His mom does not have medical insurance and the person she is staying with has a house that is in very poor condition. They own a few dogs, but a couple of them are pitbulls so due to breed restrictions in apartments he is not able to move her out of the home into a safer place. He is a very independent man, who is taking on a whole lot of stress and responsibility at a young age. I want to give back and try to help him and his mom as much as I can.
Right now he is their only source of income, so the house he wanted to buy he can no longer invest in due to recent events. He has a good head on his shoulders and is hard working, but it is very difficult for me to see him with this much responsibility and little help. His mom is diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis, so at some point she will no longer be able to work and he will continue taking care of her. I thought this could be my best shot at helping him find a new home, so maybe it could rid some his stress worrying about his mom, knowing if she is safe. I wanted to take a chance to surprise him because even though he is majorly independent and does not like to ask for help from others, I know he needs all the help he can get. I want him to know he is not alone and should not take on all the responsibilities he has by himself.

  69. I am writing on behalf of Norm and Barb Schultz. This sweet couple needs your help. I work for a home remodeling company and we were contacted by Mr. and Mrs. Schultz over a year ago to help fix some major problems with their home. The Schultz’ were taken extreme advantage of, and after building a new house with the help of an engineer and a general contractor one end of their house is sinking into the ground at the astonishing rate of 2 inches per year. Having built the house several years ago, there is now a rather steep incline as you walk to their kitchen from the garage. Other issues, such as windows and doors not opening properly, have come up because of the sinking. The foundation at one end of the house is sinking, while the other end of the house is not. Parts of the drywall in the basement are cracking from the displacement, and there are even cracks that were clearly discovered as being fixed during the building of the house. In this situation they are left with the concerns, as the house sinks, of the possible breakage of water, sewer and gas pipes that penetrate the foundation. Just to repair the water main, if needed, would consist of removing a part of the concrete driveway and excavating the end of the house that is sinking and then repairing the driveway. After soil testing was done, it was found that pilings to support the foundation should have been placed. The soil test showed that pilings should be 70 feet down. The Schultz’s have since taken the contractor responsible for the building of their house to court and after a lengthy battle have been rewarded favor in the lawsuit. Unfortunately, the whole amount needed to fix the house could not be rewarded to them without bankrupting the other party in the lawsuit and they were left with a pitiable amount for the damages accrued to their property. The cost to bring the house back up to the proper level, secure the foundation and fix all of the damage to the property is upwards of $300,000. At this point, they could not even afford to stop the sinking, let alone return the foundation to the proper point and level the house to make it livable.
This is an elderly, retired couple, both in their late eighties. They spent the money they had saved building their dream home in their retirement and were rewarded with the disappointment of dishonest and corrupt contractors who knew they were building them a broken house on a sinking foundation and left them with nowhere near enough money to fix the problems. The property as it is now is not worth much more than what the land is worth.
We are heartbroken for this couple and would love to help them in any way that we can. If we could afford to do the work for free, we gladly would to help this couple. It seems unjust that such a thing happens in this world.
Any help that can be given to this family would be a blessing. We want them to be able to enjoy the house they worked so hard for and know that they will have something of worth and stability to leave to their family when the time comes.

Thank you so much for your kind consideration. God Bless!

    Elly Schaaf

  70. I have 3 Autistic children 10,6,5 , two of them non-verbal.My son has demolished our house by putting his head through the walls when he's upset because he can't communicate. So now we have tons and tons of holes throughout the house and he also has Pica which means he craves non-editable items so he eats our carpet and dry wall. we started taking out the carpet but just financially can't afford to go on with completing it and fixing the walls. Also I would love to get a fence for them so they can play outside safely. As of now they stay in most of the time because when my husband is at work I can't go in 3 separate directions. Please pick us so our children can enjoy their lives. Thank You!

  71. I would like to tell you about the Cairns family: Brian, Suzanne, Paige and Romann. At the age of 3, Romann was diagnosed with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy – a disease which is similar to ALS but in children. Romann's muscles are gradually deteriorating. Romann is now in a wheelchair, and still (for now) has use of his hands and neck, but little to no mobility everywhere else. Presently, they are renting a home while looking for land to build. This precious family – considering all they're going through – has started a non-profit organization called "Restore Place" where couples who have special needs children can go to restore themselves and their marriages. Suzanne and Brian felt led to provide this ministry because they come from such a unique place of empathy. When they find land, they plan to build not only their home, but also a cottage on the property as to serve as a B&B for couples who qualify. Moreover, as Romann is getting older (and heavier) it's becoming harder and harder to meet his needs. (Suzanne can barely lift him.) Their new home would need to provide special items to help care for Romann (i.e. lifts, etc.) that your show does so well. I feel the Cairns' servant's heart closely aligns with Extreme Makeover's mission of helping people in need. So, I humbly ask you to consider helping this family build their new home and their new ministry. Sincerely, Kelly Sandt

  72. For Atleast the past 20 years, Rusk, Tx, a small east Texas town of 5,000, has been wished a heart filled scream of "good morning" from the local donut shop owner. He has always been the happiest man in town. Always a smile on his face and always making everyone he greets, happy. He serves the best donuts in town and 90% of the town stop by his donut shop daily. Recently, we've discovered that the old man that we know and love and depend on to make our day bright, is no longer so cheerful. I have recently discovered that his rent on his home has grown significantly high due to new owners. It's not the nicest of places but it's a place they've called home for several years now and now they are being forced to find something more affordable, which is becoming a struggle in our small town. I would like nothing more but to put the smile of the town's happiest man, back on his face and graciously give him a place to call home without worry. If anyone deserves this, it's this man

  74. Do you have a program of Extreme Makeover: Home Edition in Philippines? I would like to apply the house of my parents in Poblacion, General Nakar, Quezon Province, Philippines. It's Antonio Astejada's Residence. They haven't a money to re-build their own house. They are old enough to work for the renovation of the house. My brother haven't enough money to help our parents. When raining the water from the roof enter in some small holes to the bedroom. Also when raining the waters enter inside the house. Maybe your team can help my parents in their problems.
