  2. Hello, my names is Alexis Blanks and I live with my great grandmother and great grandfather. They owned this house for more than 20 years and it's falling apart. My grandparents deserve this because they have raised so many kids in this house, including me. The walls are peeling, the bathroom is not constructed right, we have bugs and I can't bring my friends over because of it. My grandparents are strong willed beautiful Christians that put others before themselves and I truly want to try to repay them for all they have done for me with this because I'm the only one who does for them. They are pure blessings if it wasn't for her I would be in foster care.

  3. Hello My name is vanessa, i am writing on behalf of my friend Melanie. Melanie lives in Brooksville, Fl with her Husband Larry, stepson Zech and she has a baby on the way. Both her and her husband are disabled – he is a disabled Air Force Vet with a bad back and hip, and she was diagnosed with several mental disorders that prevent her from working which include (but not limited to) PTSD, and DID.

They live in a mobile home that her father left her when he passed away back in 2012. The place had been storage for 7+ years and is really run down. They have been cleaning and trying to live there, but the place is still falling apart and all the appliances are going out or don't work. The stove, washer, and dryer do not work at all. The Frig/freezer is slowly dying; the frig does not work at all and the freezer is just barely at frig temp. The guest bedroom and guest bathroom; the floor and back wall is caving in as is the dining room floor. The Kitchen has no counter or sink and several soft spots in the floor. The master bedroom needs new flooring and the master bathroom needs a new bathtub. There are so many problems with the house, but those are just what I can think of off the top of my head. Thank you for taking the time to read this and even more so if you can help at all.

  4. Hi my name is Teesita I'm writing on behalf of my husband Phillip. He has been diagnosed with PTSD. He has struggled all his life being in foster care and being beaten. Raised himself since age of 12. He has always tried to heal himself. He struggles on a daily basis. All the people in his life that he has trusted the most have passed away. He'll do anything for his family. We have 5 children. The month of May has been a real struggle. We moved to a new house which needs work, his biological mom passed away the day before Mother's Day. Everything that could go wrong has gone wrong. We get one step ahead just to take 5 steps back. The day we were moving to our home we had a break in. Just imagine what this is doing to doing to him. Just asking for help to build him a safe room where he can actually relax and not be on edge and help him with his PTSD. Hope you get this and thank you.

My son is now 4 years old and he still does not have a room and he definitely needs one and I have to kids in college so we have a lot of expenses. My son was diagnosed with autism when he was only 12 months old we were so heartbroken it changed my life forever. My husband works full time and we have no family near us it's very difficult. We are in need of help please help us thank you so much.

  6. Having returned home to Chicago after a 35 year hiatus, I find my moms home in need of great repair. My mom is a very giving and loving person, and the past 38 years she has given without question to anyone in need. Imagine to my horror to find out that in her senior years, being victim to numerous scams. These neighborhood and businesss scam artists have scammed her out of thousands of dollars, all centering around shoddy work and repairs in her home from a 12k kitchen remodel (shoddy) 2 roof replacements (5 layers of shingles remain, flashing gone, roof leaking into home, sewer repair ( repair person busted the main sewer line trying to rod it out, and so on. My mom has mobility issues and need street level access to her home. We would be honored and humbled to be considered for a new home for mom.

  8. Writing for our friends…the Zohn family from Lancaster, PA just had their second set of twins…they have twin 5 year old girls and now twin boys…BUT the one baby boy twin was born with a very rare but severe skin disorder called Epidermolysis Bulosa, these kids are called butterfly kids because their skin is so fragile. Baby Asher lives in constant pain, even simple things like changing his diaper takes three people, an hour to do and much pain for him…his parents, Erin and Kevin are such hard workers, loving and giving people….their life has completed changed and will forever be different now…no chance of living what would seem to be a normal life because of his condition…no vacations, no going out to eat, they are now very limited. BUT, one thing that has been known to really help these EB kids is a swimming pool…the water is healing and calming for them and one activity that they can actually participate in, every other activity, including just simple tasks, causes their skin to blister, bleed and come off. But swimming is ok! I would love to makeover their home and backyard so that it makes it more accommodating for Asher and to create an oasis doe their family. The world is filled with pain and injustice, and this family just deserves a break and at least a nice home that they all can enjoy…Asher's condition had no cure, and his life will forever be extremely challenging and painful, but if they could have a home that he can live in and feel a bit more normal, then a bit of hope could be restore to this family that is so kind and loving and also in desperate pain. Thank you for looking into this case!

  9. My name is Jennifer I live in cocoa, fl I'm writing for my mom hopefully to surprise her . Not sure if this will make it to anyone but I'm Hoping someone takes the time to look over this . My mom currently lives in a mobile home that is about 13 years old and it's falling apart . And bugs are invading . She has medical issues she has two blocked 100% arteries going to the front of her brain which the back ones have compensated for the blood flow to the front of her brain. Our house is full of bed bugs and roaches . Our dishwasher has broken , washer on its witts end , our decks are falling apart , the floor in the house has weak spots ready to fall in, we were trying to redo her room but the floor is molded our law mower has recently broke our grass is getting high and higher . She's part of a rotary club in Titusville Florida that she's been apart of for years it's a nonprofit organization that's helps people in the community and for kids to get scholarships for schools and much more . She's active in a church for people with addiction that helps over come their addiction addenting that at least 4 days a week. My brother is a recovering addict she's always focused on helping better his life. Forgetting bout her own. She's always giving back to her community and I'm reaching out because I feel it's time for her to get it back for all she does and her health issues as no doctor will operate on her because she's functioning fine. We have two dogs , pittbulls and we recently had four but just last year due to our fence being so old a neighbors dog they never walked on a leash broke our fence one night and then later our dogs broke our fence due to them not liking this dog and attacked their dog an off duty cops lives next door came out and I made the hard decision for him to shoot our dogs in order to save this mans dog life. One dog was shot but stayed alive . Two died and the other I was holding so no harm was done . I'm hoping this story is acknowledged and one day I can give my mom a home again. I know their are other people with grater issues but thank you for your time and all you guys do for people. I just want her to have a home again.

  13. Hi my name is Ashley Schirmer. I'm a 23 year old single mom. I have two children my first Mariah I had at 16. Mariah was born with a rare terminal genetic disorder caller Trisomy 18. Mariah has MANY complex medical issues. She has had open heart surgery, 2 gtube surgeries, she has a trach, 8 gj tubes, kidney surgery, a nissen, 3 spinal surgeries and will continue to have spinAl surgery every 6-9 month's until puberty when she will have a spinal fusion. I have lived with Mariah at MUSC children's hospital altogether 2 years though all of her admissions. She is non verbal and non mobile she is completely dependant on me and her home health care nurse's. I also have a typical 9 month old son Collin. I do everything possible I can for them to provide the best I can to make sure they have better options in life. To advocate and fight for the best for Mariah. I work 3 jobs. I still some how manage to make time and enjoy the volunteer work I do though our community. I work as a substitute teacher, a server and I work for a non profit in SC to help provide parent to parent support to other special needs families in our state. I recently applied to do private foster care for children like my daughter our first home visit is this coming Thursday. Unfortunately the place we currently live is just not equipped for Mariah and her needs. My son is growing quick and we share a room. Mariah is unable to move her walker to try to learn to walk in our home. It is extremely hard to get her wheelchair into our tiny bathroom and get her into her bath chair. Mariah has home health and there policy is no one person can lift over 40 pounds alone and since we are unable to fit a lift in our home in the next few months I'm not sure what we will be able to do since Mariah is already 34 pounds. There is no ramp to easily get her wheelchair into our home. We are living on top of her supplies and equipment since there just isn't room in this 2br place. Since I have applied for therapeutic foster care and we have our home visit this Thursday the only thing that will put us on hold is there just isn't room in our home. We need an extra room for our little family to take in another child like Mariah. I have fallen in Love with our special needs community and have so much love to give. I dream that one day I can give another child all the love support care and advocacy they need like I do my own. This wouldn't only change our lives but other's as well for years and years to come. I hope you consider our family When making this decision.

  14. My name is Micaela Dougherty and I am from Pleasanton, California. My mom has basically raised my two younger brothers and I alone for the past 20 years and our house is falling a part. The wood is rotting, the yard is dead, the carpet is stained, the garage is leaking, we don't have air conditioning, and our kitchen is still the same from decades ago. My mom constantly struggles to take care of our family and maintain our household and it would change our life forever to be able to get an extreme makeover of our home. I really hope you will consider our family. Thank you so much.

  15. I would like to submit and apply for an extreme makeover. I am legally blind and I am in need of repairs for my house. I get around by myself and do everything myself. I am capable of moving the lawn with the eyes of help. I cannot repair my entire house. I would like it to be accessible for me to move around and get things easily. I have been blind most of my life. I am a friendly person to deal with and I still have many dreams to fulfill in life. I still love to travel with my cane as my guide. I love the outdoors. I would love to have cement around my house and get me yard paved. I want to extend all of my rooms, kitchen and bathrooms. If you can help me, I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks a million.

  16. Hi my name is Rochelle Cornegay. Im from Hawaii and I live with my aunty and uncle in Papakolea in a home that was built in 1971. The home that we're living in had a really bad water leak and half of the roof is exposed on the top floor as well as the bottom floor. My aunty tried to get a home loan to fix up the house but got denied. My aunty was born with a disability and cannot hear out of her right ear, my uncle is diabetic and has had his toe amputated and works almost everyday to provide for the house hold but his diabetes is getting worst. My aunty has also recently had knee surgery and really bad asthma putting her out of work and has lost 2 of her siblings that were living here to diabetes and for health reasons unknown. I dont know what I can do to help them. There are rats that are beginning to take over and it is very unhealthy living conditions for anyone to be living in. This has been a family home for them since the day that it was built and it hurts me to see it falling a part and not being able to do anything about it. Please, can you help me and surprise my aunty and uncle with fixing their home. Thank you.

  17. I am really in need for a home makeover,we can't afford to get are roof fixed, it is going to fall in soon, there is a lot of things we need fixed. I pray that we can get help … Thank you

  18. My mother and step father have been taking care of my daughters children for over 6 yrs. They have adopted 2 of them. It started 7 yrs ago when they tried to get the 1st one. He now lives with his father but stays over night to visit his sisters at their house. They got custody of the now 6yr. old a few months after her birth, then the now 5yr.old came along they got custody of her a few months after she was born. Rayna, almost 4 has been with them most of the last 3 yrs. And now they have Naveah with them half the time, she just turned 2.They have a 2 bd. home, and the family has out grown this small home. When they took the 1st baby, I agreed that I would help out. I now stay with them 3 or 4 days a week, to help out. I sleep in a recliner. I don't mind it, I just wish the girls had another bd. and maybe a play room. My mom is 79yr old, my step father is a few yrs younger. He does most of the driving to appts. school, church, and outings. They could really use a home makeover. The children are getting bigger and the house seems to be getting smaller. They have done alot to give these children a good home and they really deserve it.

  19. Hello, my name is Vicki Ray. I am writing this letter on behalf of my mom.. She is 70 yrs. old and we lost my father on Jan 15,2015. He was our rock and moms best friend, they were married 42 yrs.. We were all devastated at his loss and my baby sister who is only 37 yrs old started to shut down so much that she was unable to attend daddys visitation or funeral.. the day after daddys burial we took my sister to same ER that dad went to and her oxygen level was 18 and had congestive heart failure… she was admitted and drs said she was suffering from symptoms of broken heart syndrome.. by Monday almost one week to the day daddy passed my sister had a massive stroke while in the hospital. She was life flighted to Centennial Hospital in Nashville, same hospital as my dad… my poor mom.. and our family .. we just couldnt believe we were here again…for the same thing! They had to remove part of my sisters skull because her brain was so swollen from stroke that if they didnt she would die… its been 3 months now and my sister survived but she is still in nursing home unable to move her right side unless picked up by someone, she cant walk barely talk cannot use bathroom on her own.. she has 4 children and mom is taking care of them for the most part, two boys and two girls. the girls are only 7 and 9… My mom lives in a single wide mobile home that is very old and needs lots of repairs.. we have discovered there is lots of mold! She lives on a fixed income and cannot barely afford anything… and she just had surgery on her eye and is still recovering.. she still makes a point to go see my sister as much as 4 or 5 times a week to let her know she loves her… My mom is an amazing woman, so strong. SHe is a very Godly woman and has always kept her faith and has never questioned all this…She always, always has a smile on her face…She hasnt even had a chance to grieve her husband.. we have also come to know that as soon as my sister has the surgery to put her skull back on and is able she may be returning to live with mom.. her trailer is too small and not handicap accessible.. She needs this help….She is so deserving of this…I couldnt think of a much more deserving person, she has always given to others and i just wish we could give this to her… thanks so much..

  20. As I read all the comments, it makes it really hard to believe that you would pick my family. With all the bad luck I've had in my life, I've always made the best of things. As much as I'd love to be on your show with my family, I do not feel the need to be. There's always someone worse off then myself. I've never had the pleasure of owning my own home. It would be a dream come true. Thank you for all of the inspiring shows you've done. If you pick my family, I'll know god answered our prayers!!!

  21. My name is Ashlee and my husband's name is Tommy. We have been together about three years. I have a 7 year old son from a previous relationship and he has a 16 year old son from a previous relationship as well. Together we have a one year old daughter named Hope. Hope has a rare chromosome disorder called trisomy 18 also known as Edwards syndrome. We found out about her diagnosis early in the pregnancy. Despite doctors wishes, we decided to continue the pregnancy and hope for the best. Everyday was a worry for us. Wondering what could happen.we had so many appointments that my husband lost his job due to too many absences. My job worked with me so I was able to stay at mine. I worked up until two weeks before her birth. Money was tight so we had to squeeze into a tight one bedroom apartment that was run down. Bills added up and we almost lost the apartment. On May 23rd, 2014,our baby girl was born. She stayed 5 weeks in the NICU. We almost lost her. She pulled thru and came home to our one bedroom apartment. Today, she's a one year old fighter. Hope has many challenges. She not your average one year old. She is very developmentally behind and has a long list of doctors appointments. Her condition isnt promising. As she is doing well now, any day could be her last. It hurts us to think this way but it's reality. Tommy stays at home with her while I work part time. Hope has a gtube and is fed by a feeding machine. I am the only one working due to her condition. We are now in a two bedroom apartment but the rent is more and we are barely making it. Its a daily struggle. We need a bigger and more comfortable house for our family. As Hope gets older, she may need to be in a wheelchair.we are on the second floor and it would be so hard to go up and down with it. Please help us provide a better home for our little fighter Hope. She is beating the odds everyday.

  22. Hello my name is Tameka
I'm writing in hope of a makeover for my Dad. My dad is 65 years old and he is considered to be disable due to he was burned over 75% of his body when I was a baby and I'm 41 years old now. My dad has a big heart and he will go over and beyond to help everyone. My dad lives alone and I try to get by there at least twice a week . He really need some help in his house it's like a storm has blew through there and destroyed everything in there. His house is a mess I really would be so happy if your show could help my dad …

  23. Hi I'm a mom with 3 kids and married lost my house to a fire about 4 years ago got a trailer moved in it and it was leaking from the roof it was not perfect but it was all we had and the a tornado came and took it from us we lost everything we had and it hard finding a home for us we are living with my mother in law in tell we get a different one out there but with no money to buy one it hard never really had nothing as nice as some of them on the show but thought I would give it a shot but I pray to God that someone will be nice and help us out I have try nearly everything thank you

  24. I'm a single parent. My 15 year old daughter is pregnant. My mother is living with us. My daughter's mother is moving in with us after she gets out of prison. My daughter's little sister has moved in after her dad went to jail. In a 3 bedroom, 2 bath house. I work at Habitat for Humanity, their pay is very low but I love me job. I love helping people and wish somebody would help me. We have no room in our house and not enough money coming in to get a bigger house

  25. First off, my name is Cassie and I am so incredibly thankful for the hard work and dedication you do to help families in need! I think every episode ends with me in happy tears for the family. Thank you for all you do!!!
Me and my family are not ones who look for hand outs or ask for help. We try to get by the best we can. But I'm asking for help because we need it desperately.

We live in an old 1890 2 story house on the outskirts of Wellington, KS. My Dad David, who is 78 years old, back in October 2014 had to move in with us. He has Chronic bronchitis, with only one eye left, that he is unfortunately legally blind in, emphysema and just recently has been diagnosed with late stage lung cancer. He is declining fast and can no longer even walk on his own. My Dad is absolutely everything to me! I made a promise to him, that I would take care of him the best I could and that he would never be placed in a nursing home. I plan to keep that promise no matter what! He is my hero… He was there for me when I couldn't walk, and I'll be there for him!

My family… consists of my Husband Matt, my 3 beautiful step daughters (Rosie, Lilly and Jazmyne) that live with us full time, my mother Judy who is 63, my father and me. 7 people. Our home has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, only one of the bathrooms work. We have resorted to having no choice but to give my Dad bed baths because he is now unable to walk and the wheelchair will not fit into the bathroom and it's hard to carry/hold him as he tries to walk.
My husband Matt is my rock! If it wasn't for him, I don't know where I'd be. He busts his butt long hours at his work as a foreman for a construction company. Getting up at 5am and sometimes not getting home till after 8-9 at night. Then if anyone in the family needs anything, even him having a long hard day…. he helps out 1000%! Me and my mother both work part-time as assistant managers at a hotel here in town, separating shifts so someone is always home with my father and step daughters. Juggling between work and trying to keep our family happy is not easy.
We are proud of this little country house and have been trying our hardest to fix it up but it's been a very slow process.
We need help and saying that is not easy but the cold hard truth dispite it all. I want nothing more then to give my Dad the peace of mind and comfort he deserves in whatever time he has left and to raise my step daughters in a loving home. To show them that money truly don't buy happiness. It's dedication to your family that is most important. If it wasn't for them… I would never be sitting here typing you this plee as a cry for help. But I know, we need it, especially my father as I feel like I'm failing to provide to all his needs.
    Please… help…

  26. Hello,
I am writing on behalf of Lincoln and myself. Lincoln and I have been together since February 2003 and we married on December 10th 2013.
I have an incredible husband and Best friend!
And I want the world to meet! He is a magiver at fixing and making things. He worked at Boeing for 18 years. When we met he had been homeless but I was taken back by his personality and obvious intelligence. I invited him to stay with me and that began our journey together. He worked several jobs but in between he and I did lots of volunteer work. I was in Americorps for 3 years and did my last posting at Everett Emergency Management where I designed and gave public presentations to prepare for disasters! Five years ago we bought 20 unimproved acres outside of Loon Lake,WA.
In November 2013, Lincoln was diagnosed with fourth stage prostate Cancer! We have made some modest improvements, but still have no electricity, septic or water. And we have not been able to build the Cabin we both want so badly. We have this incredible wetland and creek on our property. The land is in a small valley between two hills and has a gorgeous view. We Need some Help from you so we can once again Live on our Property. We are staying with my Sister because I can't take care of Lincoln's and my property without improvements being made. I would Love you to Help us and inspire a Small but worthy community. Thanks for all the Wonderful Work you do to benefit families!
    Sincerely

  31. Hi, my name is Angela Duncan and I really need help. My house is literally falling apart around me. For the last few years it has been a struggle just paying the bills. My husband was laid off the day he came home from having surgery, so all of the bills fell on my sholders. Not long after that I was diagnosed with pre-cancerous cervical cancer so this ended up having me out of work for eight weeks due to having a complete hysterectomy. Had it not been for some truly amazing family and friends my family would have been hungry and homeless. After i returned to work, the physical demands of my job were overwhelming, so I left my good paying job for one that didn't pay as well but wasn't physically killing me. Needless to say, I got behind on my bills and could no longer afford to do even minor repairs. My husband had been looking for work, but was unable to find anything, so this caused him to get really depressed. After endless arguments about finances, and him seeing me struggle, he doubled his efforts to find work. I thought finally things were starting to turn around. Then on the morning of October 7, 2013 my world changed forever. I woke up that morning to find my husband Bobby uncovered. This caused me concern because we were both just getting over a severe case of the flu. I went over to cover him up and check on him, but found that he had passed away in his sleep. As you can imagine, I lost it. Our 17 year old son Brandon, came rushing through the house when he heard me scream his dads name. Our son held me tight and tried to keep me from shutting down. Our amazing son, I am sad to say lost both of his parents that day. Although I tried to be strong and just keep going on with the day to day struggle of just trying to survive,I just couldn't function all that well. I was completely overwhelmed with going from a happy family, to being a single parent. As you can imagine things just got worse with the house. All of my income went to trying to pay bills and keep food on the table. It was only after a large water bill came in did I realise that there was a water leak below the floor in the bathroom.I called a contractor and he said that a few support beams were bad and that this had caused the floor to drop and start to sag. I filed a claim with my insurance company and they sent an adjuster to look at it. He told them that the damage was caused from a leaking toilet, so they wouldn't fix it. The estimate I was given was 2700.00. There was no way I could afford this. I was paying all the bills and now a bill for the funeral. I have never felt so utterly insignificant in my life. Here I am with everything in my life in absolute chaos and they are telling me that they won't fix it. As crazy as this sounds, the only thing I could do was try to support the floor any way I could, so we took the jack out of my van and used it to try to hold the floor up. I pray everytime we go in to shower that we don't fall through. After that it has snowballed down hill. My wonderful insurance company told me I needed to fix this, that and the other, so I did the best I could to comply. Some dear friends helped me try to get things done,I did everyting they asked, but they still cancelled my insurance. The man they sent out never took pictures of the repairs. I took them pictures of the work done and they wrote a new contract, to the cost of 165.00. Just a couple of days later, they send me a letter saying that they are cancelling my policy again for failing to replace some damaged wood on the back porch, and for having a opening to get up under the house. These things are a liability.I never received any kind of notification that these thing needed to be done or else I would have done everything I could to get them fixed. Now my roof is leaking and I pray that it doesn't fall through. I am truly at the end of my rope, and I just don't know where to turn. I have seen you do amazing things for some amazing familys, I just hope you feel that I am worthy of being helped, Thank you for taking the time to read this. Sincerely yours, Angela Duncan.

  33. I am a mom with 2 fabulous children. My daughter Haley (11) and my son Tyson (6). We watch your show as iften as we can. And my daughter ask me every time "mom do we qualify for this home makeover?" And i have to tell her i do not know.
We live in a 197? Mobile home that have had some additions out on. It is in need if many many repairs that are just out of my fincial reach. It takes all my money to pay what needs to be paid and do a few little nice things for my kids. I do not qualify for a mortage and i have no collatteral to help me.
i have carried the same job for 18 years but i just dont seem able to move forward. I keep getting sucked under. And i feel like i have to say no too much to my kids cause i have to pay what bills i can.
My children are my world. Without them i wouldnt be here today. All id like to do is give them a nice, safe, healthy place to live.
I feel i am failing them. The porch, bathroom, doors and air quality are out of my control to fix. My daughter suffers asthma and exzema. I am unable to putter at things that need to be fixed. If i do, she is sure to land in the hospital again.
I have no family to turn to. We lost my parents almost back to back due to cancer. My daughter musses them and my son gets upset because he never knew them. My dad was a carpenter/drywaller. And all around handy man. I know if he were still with us, id have all the help id need. And all so that my kids have a good home that wont hurt their health.
please, please help us. You are our last hope. Please.

  34. My 2 children and I watch your shiw as much as we can. Everytime we watch, my daughter asks me if we qualify for a home makeover. I tell her i do not know.
we live in a 197? Mobile home with additions added. It is very drafty and needs many, many repairs.
I have held the same job for 18 years and still cannot afford the many repairs that are required. Not to mention that my daughter cannot afford for me to putter at any repairs due to her asthma.
our pipes freeze in the winter and im never sure if i can do laundry due to freezing pipes or lack of water in my well during the summer. My porch needs to be torn off and replaced so our dog has a better place to spend hus time. As we cannot have an "inside pet". Again due to my daughters health
Our tub has a major rust spot and needs replacing. Our door in the living room is jammed shut due to ground heaving.
If someone wanted to break in it would be quite easy.
The money i make pays my bills. What little extra there is goes towards little things to make my kids happy. But i still have to say no more then i get to say yes.
i have 2 absolutly amazing children. And they are the reason i keep going everyday. I have lost too many loved ones in such a shirt period of time. my kids havent been able to know my family really. I just want to shower them with love to make up for that.
i lost my 17 yr old nephew in nov of 2007. My paternal grandmother in sept of 2008. Followed by my dad in dec 0f 2008. On xmas eve. My son was born 2 days later. My husband and i split shortly after. Then my mother passed away in june of 2010.
To say im depressed and overwhelmed at times is very accurate. And home repairs cost sooo much.
All i want is a safe, healthy, happy home for my kids. To be able to spend time with my kids and not have to stress over all the little things that never seem to let up.
i do not qualify for a mortage and i have no collateral to help me out.
it is very discouraging to keep moving forward when everything seems to weigh you down.
If you could find it in your heart to help us, i could believe the angels are smiling again.
Please help me continue to raise 2 happy, and much loved children. Please.

  35. Hi Extreme Makeover Home Edition. Our family has lived in the same house for almost 9 years and we have so much stuff we would love to do to it but can't. Our tub leaks and our basement is horrible. My room has some mold on the window and a crack in the ceiling. Our gutter is broken because of the October snow storm. We live in East Longmeadow Ma. I would love a bathroom upstairs but the bonus room needs remodeling and a new window. My room also needs a new window.

  36. First off I wanna say that I love your show! I love how yall all go above an beyond to change all these people's lives by the hard works yall have done. I never thought I'd be doing something like this, but I guess there comes a time in everyone's life when they could use a little help from someone who seems to care, my mom an dad had a home that my dad built with his own two hands and it took him several years to do so (my whole child hood) he ended up sling it to go back to his home town to take care of his mother who was in really bad condition she ended up passing away about a year after being there and also while he was there he had to start seeing a heart doctor he was having extremely bad chest pains then finds out it was heart attacks.. found out he had broken heart syndrome had six stints put in and still to this day he still has the pains in his heart.. I think he may be grieving himself over the lost of not only the home he was able to build back years ago but also over his mother an brother who passed while living in Florida. They're now back in alabama with us kids incase something was to happen towere we can help maybe.. there living in a old apaapartment looking thing that actually use to be a office for my pawpaws shop.. they do own the land an small building they live in. He had plans to rebuild it or build over it. But he's jus not able to do it anymore. My mom works like a dog jus to keep there doctor bills paid and doing the best they can to keep the bills paid. He's even recently quit going to the doctor bc of then not having the money to fork out for there appointments and he's got something serious going on, on top of his heart problems. I kno you have so many ppl who may need it so much more worst then my parents and it's completely udders tana blessed but from my heart to yours if your able to help it's so much greatly appreciated… thank you so much for everything you do to better all these families

  37. Good morning,
I come to you with a heavy heart and a load on my mind. My daddy is a very prideful man and has always put his family first no matter what. About six years ago my mother and father had to move from their home because my mothers health took a turn for the worse. She was diagnosed with COPD and the house they own is built attached to a mountain which allows alot of moisture in the house that she couldn't handle. So for the past six years my daddy has rented another house so my mother wouldn't struggle so hard to breath. While not living in the house a tree fell on the roof. My daddy, my fiance, and myself done our best to fix the roof, but the house is so old we didn't realize that it damaged the outside walls to the point that you can stand in the house and see outside. The floors are falling in.
My daddy retired to take care of my mother in her last days. The very same week he retired she passed away after 42 years of marriage you could only imagine how lonely he feels. My daddy wants to move back to the home that brings back good memories and we cannot afford to rebuild the house alone. Could you please see it in your heart to help my daddy!! Thank you so much and may God bless!!

  38. This is for my father. In July 2008 he was diagnosed with Parkinson's and in November 2008 my mom died. He has 2 fires since January 2009 and the house has never been completed. My brother lives with my dad, but has been plagued with injuries. To be honest the house is disgusting. SO much needs done from clean up, restoring and improvements to help with his Parkinson condition. He will be 75 this year and lives month to month on SS, which doesn't go far. I honestly do not know where to begin, it is so overwhelming. Last night I can back from a long weekend and had my dad at the urgent care. Then all night, thinking something had to be done Extreme Home Makeover came to mind. I am not sure if this is something you would even consider, but it was a chance I knew I had to take. Thanks for your consideration.

  43. We moved to Hamilton to get my mother closer to her children for her later years of life, we bought an old home when prices were high, our house is old it has wiring problems, I believe it is full of mold, and has sewer problems when washing clothes. we keep on working on this house, ever since we moved here my husband has become very ill and no Doctors have been able to tell us why, he gets very sick has been in and out of the hospital frequently, creating high medical bills, we continue to work and maintain. My husband is always helping everyone else, it would be wonderful to know whats behind the health issues and I'm beginning to think it is affecting my youngest boy that is still at home in school. I am gone on the road alot as a nurse to try to continue to pay everything, so my health has not been affected at this time. My prayer to you and your show, you have helped many people in great need,Thanks to you many people have been very blessed. Hope you have a great season with this next home makeover.

  45. I think i trust you guys to change my life because I literally been through the STRUGGLE. My life has changed in a bad way since March of 2014. I lost my car, my job, and my house. Why? I had got really sick where I couldn't go to work so that took money out of my check. I couldn't pay my car note so they towed my car. It was already bad my job was 2 hours away from my home. When i lost everything, i had to beg Social Services to help me get a bus ticket for me and my 2 kids to get to Tennessee. My cause said we could stay there until i could find me a job but i guess i wasnt loooking fast enough for her so she ended up putting us out. My mother then helped us get here to Arizona to Assist her but we about to get put out because we not on her lease (she lives in a apartment) and I still haven't gotten a job yet. Will you please help me? 🙁

  47. Hi TOH,

My name is Laura. My husband Mark is a combat veteran and firefighter. This winter our home was ruined from ice dams and we took in a lot of water. Our house was basically left to the studs. We are a family of five. Our children are 14, 7, and 3. We were living in a hotel for a month and have now moved into a mobile home on our property. It's been over three months and nothing has been started to get us back in our home. We have a cape cod style home and in order to restore it with some minor upgrades we plan on doing a lot of the work ourselves besides the plumbing and electrical of course. I see the pressure this puts on my husband and thought I would reach out to see if there was anything at all you could do to help. Mark grew up wanting to help people in anyway he could and now I feel he could use a helping hand. Thank you

  48. My name is Breanna and this is my story.
I moved to Arkansas with my fiance,
Daniel from Oregon in hope for a fresh start. We moved in with his uncle James when we arrived here. Well here's the problem. This house is falling to pieces literally. We have been here now for about four months and since we've been here we have both been sent to the hospital twice. The doctors said Daniel was diagnosed with meningitis and I was sick due to black mold growing not only in the bathroom but our bedroom as well. The house is infested with rodents and bugs. We are hoping to have a child eventually but we can't have one due to the fact the house is not child safe at all. There is a bedroom upstairs that was being built but the construction workers left after not even half of it was completed. Daniels uncle is 64 now and is having trouble getting around the house. Once in a while he sleep walks and ends up walking upstairs. Well a few nights ago he went upstairs while we were at work and fell down them. He has bruises and scabs everywhere on his body. We are scared to death that one day one of us, especially him will be seriously hurt, get sick, or even die because of the condition of this house. Please help us. It would make life go on a lot easier if this house was fixed for all of us. Please help us.

  52. My Parents are very loving an supportive to their kids, and Grand kids. They are so helpful to all of us, that they don't have any time to take care of their house. Their house has become, an unsafe environment. I would love to be able to do this project for them, but I lack the skills and the income to accomplish this. I pray that they are considered for a makeover of their house. I have always been a fan of this show and the difference this show makes in the lives of so many families. Thanks for taking the time to read this.

  53. My parents home was once a place we called "Home"… Until my dad was told he has less than five years left due to kidney failure and multiple strokes. He can't work due to his health. So, my mother picks up slack for two people on top of giving even when she doesn't have it!! They can't afford repairs etc. Yet, they allow my son and my daughter & I to live there with them . My son's father is serving over seas & my daughter recently had brain surgery. Prior to me losing a baby I carried 8 in a half months and living an hour. It's been real rough on us all the past three years. Being able to finally go to a house and calling it " Home" would mean so much not only to my parents but to my two children. ו

  54. Dear ABC's Extreme Makeover: Home Edition,
Our story isn't a sad one but I would really love for this to happen for my mother.
We are a family of four (My mom, dad, 12 year old brother, and I who is 17) and we also just recently adopted a rescue puppy named Winston. We live in Whittier, CA and our house is in a condition that is of course livable, but with the conditions that it is in it is hard to fix the things that need to be fixed as well as having to pay for the mortgage of the house. The fixes that need to be done for the house and the mortgage and now with having to make accommodations to furniture because of our new pet (which we have no regret adopting) is putting loads and loads of stress onto my mother. And of course adding to that her job is stressful emotionally and I am going to college in the fall. Actually because of this money stress, I was unable to go to my dream college at the University of Hawaii, Manoa because we could not afford it (but I'm saving to transfer later) and had to choose the one that gave us the most financial aid. My mother was thinking about having us move to another house that is newer and more updated but with having to pay for my college tuition we cannot afford that. My mom has health issues and adding stress makes them even worse. This stress has caused problems that have led to her waking up in the middle of the night and having to drive to the emergency room. So I would really love for my mother to experience this once in a lifetime thing since she had always talked about remodeling our home though we can not afford to do so. In our house there are plumbing issues in bathrooms, doors that needs to be redone, walls that need repainting, cracks on the ceiling that need to be redone because of rain, a kitchen that needs to be torn down and redone, possibly a pool makeover because of safety hazards, dog safe furniture and items in our home and also a doggie door (our puppy is half Labrador and half German Shepard), and many, many other little things that just seem to drive my mother insane. My brother and I both want to became Marine Biologist when we are older so we also have some fish and a turtle. Now we have been struggling with having a proper place to put them (especially the turtle) so they are not in total isolation throughout the day and in darkness but our house isn't big enough for that. Also my mother and I love to bond over arts and crafts and it is a hobby that we have loved over the years but with what we have we do not have any place to store these things. My mom is extremely clean and organized and we don't seem to have the space for everything so that often puts her in a stressful mood because things are out of order.
I know that so many of these are sent towards you guys and many people have the same reasons or have very different stories but I would greatly appreciate it if we were able to gain this opportunity and I know my mom would greatly appreciate this more than anyone. She does so much for the community and for the high school she works at and at times she feels under appreciated but she is one of the most kind, caring adults that I know exist.
Thank you for your time and I stay hopeful that we come in contact in the near future,
    Alexis Sierra

  55. Hi my names Kayla. I live in Kiowa Oklahoma. My family really needs a miracle right now my grandpa was diagnosed with cancer about 8 years ago since my moms had to focus all her time on him and my grandma we live in a 4 bedroom house and the roof has fell in on most of it and there's mold everywhere and we live month to month and can't afford to fix it there's 6 of us living here….my grandparents need to move in with us because my grandpa is now in forth stage Alzheimer's and my grandma is bad diabetic and needs a kidney transplant they live across a creek and when it rains the creek gets up and it's floods so bad we can't get to them if they needed help it hurts to see my family in this situation…if we don't get help I don't no what we are going to do..thanks for reading what I have to say God bless.

  56. It is my hope that this does not fall on def ears.
My name is Kevin Wilson, I have been diagnosed with ABI (aquired brain damage) I have seizures because of this and cannot work. I have survived an animal attack at 3 years of age, 46 broken bones, 40 invasive surgeries and electrocution to the head. My wife was in a severe car accident 4 months ago and cannot work. We have no income and/or support, insurance is giving us the run around, employment insurance doesn't seem to want to help, WSIB and disability are avoiding us. My oldest son (23) has been sending small amounts of money to help but this is not nearly enough to even keep our home. My younger son (18) has quit school to work to help and has given up his dream of going to post education in order to better himself and his future. We have a daughter (9) who is so stressed about the situation and the burden that she poses to the family, that she has expressed that she wants to die!
Our home has no walls, little insulation, we can no longer afford heat, our electricity will surely be cut off in the very near future. I have previous conditions of gout and rheumatoid arthritis which were difficult enough to deal with, now the ABI and medications for it have eliminated any ability to support my family. This coupled with my wifes pending back surgery has spiralled us onto a dark cavern of despair, with nothing of value to sell and no ability work I plead for your help. Please make my house a home for my family.
    Thank you
    Sincerely,
    Kevin Wilson.

  57. I don't have a big heartwarming story like many of the previous comments. however, my mother-in-law has given up a lot for my husband and I over the past few years allowing us to live with her for a period of time while he focused on school. She now lives alone and is unable to make necessary repairs on her house while we aren't there. the house needs major updating. I'm not asking for a full makeover just something that would help relieve her burden. I'm sure there are other in greater need so please help them first.

  58. Hey mr ty an abc crew, my name is Ana cilvia and am writing to u today so that my mother Ana G Lopez can have her dream home she always wished for an actual call it a home ! I know you get millions of letters or videos an I know that mine would maybe would not make it in your hands on time for ur upcoming season this year . But Words can not even discribe how much this transformation would mean to my mother an our family. My mother works very hard to make a living an take care of her kids an grandchildren ..my mom works three jobs to maintain the household an yet it is not enough to keep the bills up to date. She works cleaning houses in the morning a high school in the afternoon and two office buildings at night . An sometimes works extra jobs to help support her family. It very difficult to see how she struggles every day, working an getting paid less than minimum wage just like other Hispanic family's . My mother an father came to the USA for a better future , but my mothers world came falling down in 2007 when my father cheated, an abused her and did domstic violence. An abanded her an her an 3 children . She was scared and frighten because we didn't have a home. Our father kick us out . She was very frighten and never excpected anything like that would happen. She became a heart loving soul and a stronger women. Our mother became more than a mother an a father she is our hero . She saved our house from forcloser by working 24/7 , an at the same time taking care of her kids . She became an angle in the eyes of the people that's she's help in the past because she's never turned down someone that needed help or a place to stay."she always says we might not have much but if you have no were to stay your always welcome in our house. I admire my mother so much, in for all that she an us have been through an all the struggles we still have she still has a big heart an a smile to help her love ones . This is why this transformation would mean the world ! We live in a one story house with 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. In this little welcoming house we have 10 people living in our home plus a little blessing coming its way An we also have 5 dogs that are our pets ! My mom share her bedroom with three family friends that don't have a place to go my older brother has his room an I share a room with my two children an husband an all sleep in the same bed. my little brother sleeps in living room.. Even though its a little house we manage to live day by day .. This transformation would be the greatest blessing for our family because our house is not in perfect condition. The house needs lots of repairs an were scared that one day will wake up with out a home . We don't have a/c or heat an we bought small heaters an ac so we can be cooled an warm when the weather is difficult . Our kitchen Is falling apart meaning we don't have hot water to were its leaking and its building up mold or bacteria the cabinets are not in great shape we have holes outside an inside our house and not feel that as more time passes it's going to get worse ..we don't have a fire directer , an don't feel safe ours doors are not safe because they don't lock properly our windows are not closing well an believe there problems with water pipes because in my mother bathroom the water in the sink doesn't turn on.. We didn't had a fridge for two years an this year we recieve One from a family that donated it to us.. This are some of the issues our house has that are very hard for us to fix an are very expensive . We've tried to save money but every time we have some money save we have to use it to pay past due bills that are very high if it's not the water bill it's the light or mortgage payment…we have no words to discribe how much this opportunity means to us.. as her daughter am writing to you an abc to help my mother wish come true of having her dream home she deserves so much for what she has done an is doing for her children and her sister children for the reason that she passed away two years ago from cancer. Please give us the opportunity of her life time to make her dream come true .. God bless you sincerely the Lopez family !

  59. Hi there, my home is in serious need of repair. My parents bought a small home by the beach 20 years ago. They never lived in the house and they both died suddenly. I assumed the mortgage and living near the beach became my dream. I went through a horrible breakup and was then laid off right before the banks fell. I immediately was laid off. Since that time I have struggled to pay my mortgage and keep up with repairs on my smaller wooden frame beach home. I have managed to hang on to my home but it needs some serious repairs now as I have not been able to keep up with the home — roof, air conditioning, plumbing, electrical — all sorts of things. I am managing to pay my mortgage but that is about it. I would love a makeover on this sweet little home by the sea. Won't you help me fulfill my families dream of living in this little beach cottage by the sea?

  60. A House for Ella & Gideon

Our Pastor Josh McPherson, from the WENATCHEE WA Grace City Church and his family have the greatest capacity to give, serve and help others that our church, of humble beginnings 7 years ago of 14 people to over 700 now, have ever seen!
Without his knowledge, while he and his family are on Sabbatical, we his church are trying to raise the funds needed to give he, his wife and family the home they need. We thought that this may make sense for Extreme home make over…we have the ground and we need help and fast!!

    Please read on.

Meet the McPherson family! They are an amazing family who love and serve others. However daily life is very difficult for this family. Two of their children Have SPINA BIFIDA and Sharon (Mom) had a heart attack last year due to conditions she's developed in her heart.

    THE NEED
This family NEEDS help. The McPherson's current home has a steep driveway, stairs, narrow hallways and high counters. We want to help them get into an ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) type home. A home that works for Ella & Gideon and will help them flourish!

    THE SOLUTION
The McPherson Home Project EXTREME MAKE OVER!!

  61. Hello, I am reaching out to this site as my last resort. Over the past few years I graduated from highschool and began college I moved out of my parents house hold a few years ago so this left them sort of income for repairs and bills and food for the house. I understand people may read my comment and think oh she just wants a new home or whatever mean comment they say. However this is not what I want! I am concerned for my families health and living condition they are in. My father who owns his own lawn mower repair shop and my mom who is unemployed due to severe medical conditions in fact almost a full page full of things she has been dignosed with since I left home. I visit the home once a week and today I just had a melt down just looking around the house at everything around the bath tub is a hole that they put spray foam in the toilet rocks back and forth the roof on top of the house when the wind blows you can hear the sound of the aluminum roof. There are several holes in the walls of the house. As with my health condition having chronic myeloid leukemia and going to college full time and working at a nursing home taking care of the elderly I just cant take the work load. It hurts to see my parents in this type of state where they can't afford to fix the house up to a better condition that would better their health. I have a sister that is graduating this year 2015 in june and my bother who is 12 years old is currently in the process of being homeschooled because the school he was in he had a lot of kids picking on him. This is another reason I am calling out for help for my family. with my mothers medical conditions it is getting harder for her to take care of everything. Thank you for taking the time to read my story there is so much more I could say, but I think I have wrote enough. Thank you for reading. Please keep my family into consideration we would be so grateful! God Bless you and all that your crew does!
    -C. Wade

  62. Makeover

I would like to nominate my friend Maria. She is a hard working mother who has raised 4 children, one of whom has Prader Willi Syndrome, a genetic condition which requires constant monitoring and remains at home. She lives in the home she grew up in, and while it is beautiful on the outside, black mold has developed in the downstairs bathroom walls threatening their health. She works 12-14 hours a day trying to keep her head above water with families who have children with mental illness. Helping others is her top priority rather than taking care of herself. I've watched your show for years, seen and heard people's stories, I can't think of a more deserving person to receive a makeover.

  63. Hi my name is Dorothea and I live in san Antonio, Texas, I have a friend that is an awesome lady and I would love it if she could be on your show. She is the mother of 3 adopted kids and two of them are special needs. she is older and her home could use a lot of work that is hard for her to do herself. between school, doctors appointments and just taking care of her kids it is hard. She lives in the home she cared for her mother in before she passed away. she looks out for people and when she knows a family is in need, she will go to local food banks and take food to people when they need it. She is an awesome lady and I would love it if you could bless her.

  64. I'm sure y'all get thousands of these a day so I'm going to make my simple and easy to read in a second…… I'm going to bullet the highlights.
    • our home burn down to the ground over 12 years ago.
    • ever since then we've been trying to find a place that we could really call home.
    • we found that place on 7/1/2013 in a little town called Manchaca Texas at the southern tip of Austin.
    • the property we found is about an acre at the dead end of a cul-de-sac it is very beautiful and has a very old couple hundred year old tree in the back……LOVE
•we moved from Far North Austin too far south Austin which is like a different world… funky cool eclectic type of people.
    • as for the house….
I can go on all day about what's wrong with it but the main points that concern me are…
    • my 20 year old daughter who is incapacitated and allergic to heat, we're literally trapped indoors in the summer. She gets depressed. she's at the age development of like a two year old but she is gorgeous and I'm blessed to have her.
    • we are about to adopt our grandson from Child Protective Services, he is such a sweet special precious child who is 7 years old he's been through a lot of neglect and abuse and he really deserves a room of his own and he can't have that in this home. (don't picture gray hair grandma I'm in my mid forties but feel like I'm 20, still kind of weird for me to be called grandma so he calls me Mimi)
    • our home is where the entire family always gathers where we have family movie nights every Saturday and gather together on Sundays for barbecues. even though what we have is not much it's where everyone loves to come. we love every making everyone feel comfortable.
    • a house is not what makes a home….. it's the people that are in it, so if we never do get a home makeover we are still happy. we totally appreciate what we have but know We need major improvements.

●Having a home burn down to the ground makes you realize that everything is just stuff the home and even everything in it as long as you have each other that's all that really matters in the end.
    • so anyone reading over my comment here just know that if you have family that's all you need.

a note for other people that may read this not the producers.

I'm 100% born and raised American, we are very very blessed and fortunate to live in this country. I think about others in third world countries who sleep on dirt floors. Even if we have a few cracks in the walls or don't have the size or space you need its still like a mansion compared to what many people live in…in another countries. If you don't get picked to do the show we still are all really blessed to have what we do. Best of luck to everyone!

  65. All of these stories are very touching and I feel for each and everyone of these families sincerely. My story is not as deep and I will try to be short and to the point. I live in a small village town called Croton on Hudson, NY in Upper Westchester County. My property was hit bad in 2012 Hurricane Sandy. My home sits on an acre of land..had to have tree cuts immediately from across my driveway in order to get up the driveway..a telephone poll across my driveway which kept us out of my home for 1 month before it was addressed..this was a very big expense for us very unexpected. I am a Type 1 diabetic and at that time I was suppose to receive a new insulin pump and it was so very unfortunate in many ways..had no services Con-Ed..Cable etc. for 28 days..I lived with family members for that whole time..no new insulin pump for weeks. Ever since Hurricane Sandy we have been struggling with our beautiful yet much needed make-over. As a homemaker Mom I raised 3 beautiful children taking care of the inside of my home only..these days I find myself outside more then inside. I would like you to please consider and come on out to see my once beautiful home which needs a make-over…has a lot to be desired. these days. I sincerely hope we have the chance to meet..we still have not recovered from Hurricane Sandy. Thank you very much for taking the time to read my entry.

  66. Hi ABC, I Live at the North end of Sacramento, California. My Husband and I took in 2 kids 8 years ago.. At that time they were just 3 and 5.. Now they are 11 and 13. 2 Years ago We adopted them.. Our Home is just a 2 bedroom with a office space behind the living room with a fire place between the 2. We had to make that space a bedroom. We could really use more space for the kids. We bought this home back in 97, not thinking that we would be raising kids again.. These kids are not just any kids though.. They are our Grandkids.. My Grandson has issues now due to the way his dad treated him.. I would love for my Grandson to have a room that was big enough for him to work on his Lego's and room to put shelves up so he can display his creations. Both kids will be in the Junior High next year. They both went to the grade school from Kindergarten through the 6th grade. I helped out in there class rooms through the years. I was on the school PTA Board for the last 2 years. I just would like these kids who had a rough start in life to have a home that they can bring there friends to and hang out. My home is just a one story, so a second story could be added. I also Love to sew and I have a small home embroidery machine that I love to do things for kids with my machine. I personalize Blankets with there name and a pattern. I also Love to make Pillow cases. I don't have a room for my machine because I gave it up for my Grandkids.. I also watch kids when someone needs a sitter.. I have a friend who has 5 kids that I watch when she and her husband need a sitter.. Thank You For Your Time…

  68. Hi, my name is Anna Stockman. My grandparents would really appreciate a handicapped accesible house but they are unable to afford buildng a home like this with the doctor bills. My grandfather who is 73, currently struggling to walk and has had several mild strokes in the past years. They have a 100 year old farm house with steep stairs and narrow walls and bathroom and bedrooms are upstairs. Which makes getting to the bathroom and my grandfathers bedroom very difficult for my grandfather to get up the stairs. Their home in the small farm town they live in is not handicapped accesible which is even more difficult to get around for my grandpa's walker/scooter. My grandma who's also living with him has difficulty getting around the house. I really really would love to hear back from you and it would mean the world for my family and I for my grandpa to be in a better environment and be able to come back home from the hospital and be able to get around. Thank you so much for reading means the world!!

Our kitchen looks like a blind old lady made it and this fake old lady picked out some ugly wallpaper. Our bathroom is just plain horrible, our sink shoot out like a fire hose. Please please help i don't want to live in a pile trash the next 7 years of my life.

  72. Hello Abc!!! I'm asking for help for my mom and dad.My brother was in a bad car wreck!! He is looking at being paralyzed from the chest down. My mom and dad are going to have to take care of him for the rest of his life. My mom and dad house isn't equipped for a wheelchair and anything else he is going to need. They live in a small double wide that is about thirty years old and falling apart. They don't have the money themselves to fix it. My dad is disabled and mom works at a local grocery store. If you can help them that would be a big burden off there shoulders. Where we are from its hard to get the right help you need. I feel like God lead me here to tell u my story. Thank you taking the time to read it story. I hope u can help us.

  73. Hi my name is Jesse Spillman. I am commenting here today in the hopes that I can be considered as a candidate with the remodeling of my families house. We live in las colinas, in irving tx. The house is built on the golf course so you would assume it is very nice.. Well it's completely dilapidated. I live with my grandfather, his wife, and my two nephews. We are trying our best to be able to keep up with the house but it's very hard with my grandfather in and out of the hospital almost every week. My grandfathers wife and I work 60+ hours just to pay the bills and use the little bit left for food. Every time it rains our ceiling caves in alittle bit more. The roof is completely demolished and we had tried everything we can to get insurance to cover a new roof but they will not. My two nephews have peed on almost every carpet so the smell of rain and pee is unbearable. Not to mention my nephews have pretty much colored and scribbled on every wall and ripped the wall paper off. We also have a nice big back yard but the deck is caving in and the concrete is falling through on the sides of the pool. The pool is filled with algae and I believe needs to be re plastered. I have tried acid washing it many times but I always fail. Our windows are broken through and these are only a few of the many problems I can describe to you. I'm trying my best to give my two nephews the life I want them to have but In the circumstances I am facing with my grandfather, school, and work I have no choice but to eventually be kicked out by the city. thank you for reading, and God bless.

  74. These are all really touching stories and I am not sure how mine compares, but I have always believed you can't loose anything by just asking. I am nominating our family. Long story short my husband broke his neck a few years back and was not able to work, economy crashed and we lost our home. We are renint a studio from my parents and have a 14year old, 7month old and twins on the way. I am home with the children while my husband is living in a tent on his land in Colorado making money. There is no work out here so we go months without seeing each other. We are trying to build on his land in Colorado or move back closer to family in Omaha. I will be alone for the birth and raising of our children while he works. If we could ask for any help it would be bringing our family back together so I have help and he can see his kids grow up.
