  4. I have watched extreme makeover home edition for years. It is amazing the lives you touch with the work you do. Right now my family and I are at a very low point. On June 16, 2014, my daughter and I were involved in an automobile accident. Another driver went left of center and struck our vehicle head on. By the grace of god my daughter was not injured other than a bump on her head and a burn from the seatbelt. I was not so lucky. I had four crushed bones in my right foot and broke both bones in my right forearm. I had surgery to repair my forearm the next day. I was limited to a wheelchair for three months and had no use of my right arm. Eventually my foot healed and I was able to walk much better by November. Unfortunately without reason, my forearm did not heal. February of 2015 I had to undergo a full revision of the original surgery, this time they took bone marrow from my wrist along with donor marrow to supply a bone graft. They also placed two plates and several screws along with a bone stimulator. At this current time I have a long arm cast on am very limited in the activities I can perform. This accident has caused us so much hardship. Due to this I lost my job at a inpatient hospice center nurse (LPN). I devoted everything to my patients and families, helping them through their most difficult journeys of this life. It was a heartbreaking but rewarding calling and it was everything to me. I was also in my last semester if nursing school, advancing my career to registered nurse. I completed my academics but am unable to complete my clinical requirements. I worked so hard for this and cannot even claim it as an accomplishment. At this time I have no idea if I will ever be able to be a nurse again. By this time my husband, my daughters and I were hoping to have a home built that is more functional for our family. We have so many improvements that need to be made and we can't even do that right now due to my financial situation. Ty, my family needs your help.

  6. My dear friend, Lisa Patchen and her beautiful 80 year old mother, Arloween Patchen live in a 2 story house in Vista, California. Recently I found out their oven has not worked for 3 years-using only the stove top for cooking. The upstairs is unlivable as the rooms are full of mold. Arloween has been sleeping on a couch in the living room for the past 6 years, and has not had a real bath or shower for the same amount of time. Don't get me wrong- she has to hand bathe daily out of the bathroom sink. Last year the church was kind and had the income to paint the exterior of the home. No one is allowed (other than Lisa and her mother) to go inside the home due to the condition. Again, mold, no heat as that has not worked for years and the house is not equipped with a/c. What a horrible way for an 80 year old (or anyone for that matter) to have to live. But, especially in the later years of your life, you should be able to enjoy your life. They struggle so bad at times our boss has paid their water bill so it would not be shut off. Please take Lisa and Arloween's living condition and age into consideration for your next Home Improvement. God bless you and your family, and thank you for taking the time to read this application.

  7. Hi, I'm trying to find out how to apply for a home makeover for my home. I live in a small mobile home and I take care of my nephew who is bedridden with a traumatic brain injury due from car accident when he fell asleep on his way home from work a little over 2 yrs ago. I need a place or just aroom that is big enough to store all his medical equipment and to be able to put exercise equipment in to try and help him get some therapy since we can't get in rehab. He wants to be able to walk so badly but can never get a chance at rehab. He has a sand bed in his room and with my central air it doesn't keep his room cool. I had to use a window air unit as well. I have medical supplies all through my house. My nephew has a feeding tube, trach, colostomy and has to be total cared for 24 hours a day. We turn him every 2 hours day and night. I have to give him a bed bath everyday because my mobile home is so small that I don't have enough room to put a shower in to be able to give him a shower. I been searching with churches and others agencies in my community just trying to find someone who would build me an addition onto my mobile home just so I can have him a room big enough to store all his medical stuff and supplies, and fix him a shower so that
I could give him a stretcher shower. I find its so hard to get help even when we been trying to get him exercise equipment to be able to help him more at home since he can't get any type of therapy not even at home. It's up to me and my family to do any type of exercise or therapy with him.

  9. I have lived in the house that my grandfather built and left to me for the past 10 yrs. I have SLE (systemic lupus). In Aug. 2014, I had a very severe flare and was in the hospital a total of 50 days. I was on life support for 8 of those. When I came out of ICU, I was paralyzed from the neck down. I have regained the use of my arms and legs, but still have trouble with stairs. It also affected my lungs to where I have to be very careful around chemicals or any type of mold. My house is a 2-story home, and has so much mold set up in the walls that they believe that it could have contributed to my flare. It is totally unlivable, and I have had to move in with my mother. Needless to say, we are both used to living by ourselves, but she has been a great help to me. I have my dog still over there, because I brought him over here to my mothers with me and he quit eating and drinking, so I had to take him back home. He was raised over there. So, I go everyday and feed and play with him. He's happy as long as he's over there, but I want to be with him and cannot. It breaks my heart to leave him over there. please help me to where I can go back home and be with my baby Bo! I have applied to Humanity for Habitat, and to Home Rehab and have heard nothing at all. I really need to be able to go home where I can have my life back. Thank You, and keep up the wonderful work that you all do. Dawn

  10. I am writing to you in hopes of my boyfriend being able to get what he deserves. I know you have millions of entries however I believe my boyfriend, Skip Fuller, deserves a home he can call his. He has raised all 3 of his children, worked to take care of all 3, still has his 17 yr old daughter living at home. Recently his Dr referred him to a specialist because of a mass discovered in his neck. There has been no diagnosis as of yet, however he gets a biopsy the 30th of this month. He tents his home he's in now for $550 a month, and he has so much stress on him brewing a single parent, raising a 17 yr old girl, not knowing what's coming or even if he'll be able to work because of what may be. Please, just consider my wish. Not for me but because of the kind, caring and responsible man who puts himself on the back burner to make sure his daughter has what she needs. Than you. Also?? God bless all who are involved for helping and blessing families in need!!!!

  12. I am 58 years old. I am asking for my daughter to have an extreme makeover. She is 46 years old and a mother of three children. The oldest is 24 with a 3 year old son that has been married and then moved back home. The oldest son is 22 and in boot camp in Oklahoma. She still has a 16 year old son at home. Carol (my daughter) and her husband divorced 4 years ago. She is unable to work due to a bad back (she has applied for disability but has been turned down several times. On Dec. 11, 2014 her (husband) passed away which left her with no income. She was able to get a Social Security check for her 16 year old son but will end when he turns 18 that will stop. She lives with me now in a 3 bedroom trailer. The house she did live in is falling in. The floors are buckling up. This house is the house I grew up in. She so deserves to have a makeover. Please consider Carol as a candidate. Thank you and God Bless you

The conditions of the house are very delicate the wood is rotting, the toilet barely flushes, the outside of the house is made with ispestice. we are trying our best to keep this house up by putting a bandaid on all the cracks

  15. Extreme makeover,
My name is natasha, i am a 20 year old mother of a 1 year old little girl and a 2 month old son, i have a fiance and a family dog.
A few weeks ago my son was hospitalized with rsv and
Respiratory failure, he momentarily died on the table.
Thankfully he was life flighted to childrens health care
Of atlanta where he was treated and miraculously made
A quick recovery, even professional doctors swear that angels was and is with my son because as severe as his condition was he pulled through and was able to be sent home after only a week in icu and most was spent unconscious. Unfortunately due to said events
My small family can not go back to our home
In dahlonega ga due to not being able to go
Far from my sons doctors, my little family is
Being split up, my fiance and i havent shared a bed in
Over a month or even slept in a bed. Everything
We own is in dahlonega and even their we haven't
Much space.. We have no space where we currently reside, we are about to have to give away our family dog
Who we all love dearly and our dog loves us back. My other dog was stolen eight after my son
Had gotten sick. My little family is falling apart
We have no place our children can call home, no
Money even though my fieance works very hard to provide for our family, i can not work.due to my sons condition, we are unable to have our belongings due tp space and.our living situation. I do not get to rest
I can not sleep due to worry and stress. I know
This is a long shot and i am sure that there
Are many more much deserving families than mine
But i can only pray for a saving grace, my hands are tied
So i am asking from the bottom of my heart
Please help my small family, even something cheep and little somewhere where i can atleast keep our family pet and let my children always have a place to call home

  16. we live in nadi, fiji islands. nadi is a place which is highly affected by flooding. in our family there is a couple who can not talk neither do they can listen. this couple do not have a house for their own. with gods blessing they have a year and a half baby who can speak and hear properly. surprisingly this couple never had a home on their own. the house they were living in belonged to some other family. because the couple are impared, the parents of the girl regulary visited them, which the owner did allow. with their disability they can't even get a good job. the husband is working getting about $100. per week while the wife stays home to look after the son. most of the necessities are fulfilled by the girls father. he has also retired two years ago and that makes things difficult. i have been watching extreme home makeovers and am pleased the way they help the needy people. at present the couple are separated and the only way we can bring them together is by providing them a good home where they can live the rest of their life happily and where their child can grow up with all the facilities. a home which can keep them safe from flood. I know our story is not as bad as some of the others but we would be grateful for a chance to receive the home makeover. we hope there would be a positive outcome.

  17. Hello. There is a family that is very close to my heart. The father's name is Derek Price and he has three young girls ranging in ages from 7 to 12. Derek and his girl's mother divorced in 2012 but remained very close to keep the girls well taken care of. In April of 2014, the mother Misty, had a baby boy with her then fiance.

On August 1st, Misty and all 4 of her kids were in a car accident where Misty died on impact at the young age of 28. All kids were okay, outside of minor injuries that were repaired within a few months but the emotional impact to all the girls have been devastating.

The newborn, 3 months at the time of the accident is doing well and living with his father and his father's mother.

Derek and girls aren't doing as good and are currently living in the Derek's parents unfinished home where they have been trying to build slowly because they can't afford to take out a loan to finish building completely. The grandpa built houses for years but fell about 10 years ago and is physically not able to complete the home to where it is somewhat livable as he is permanently disabled.

Derek works a full-time job but barely makes minimum wage and the grandmother has been with the same company for 36 years but barely makes enough to get by.

They are doing the best that they can. The dad lives in the unfinished attic while the three girls all sleep in a small, unfinished living room. There is no heating or air conditioning, there's only one bathroom, one unfinished bedroom and the kitchen isn't completed either.

I was told about this website and wanted to pass along this family's story. They are all so humble and thankful to be alive. You would never hear a negative word come out of their mouth and they would lend a helping hand to anyone that needed it. I could go on for hours about how amazing this family is but you would have to see it to believe it because there aren't many people like them in this world.

Thanks for reading and listening and I really hope they might have a chance at being considered for this amazing program.

  18. Hello! My name is Samantha Swayney, I am the mom to 3 rambuncous children. Rylee 9 is epileptic and has been seizure free for going on 5 years now. Lylah my beautiful 7 year old daughter. And Reese 4 is mentally and developmentally disabled. Almost 3 years ago their father left us to be single (no kids). Before he left I worked night and day to try to give our children a better life. I purchased the land my grandmothers trailor sat on and automatically got the trailor too. Their dad added on 2 bedrooms for Rylee and Lylah, and a walk-in closet for me. Before the additions where finished he left. Rylee's room and my walk-in closet leaked very badly. Lylah's room was okay at the time. Then awhile later I meet the man I had a crush on growing up, then we started dating and he proposed last June. He has 2 daughters Sierra 14 and Alisha 9. Both beautiful bright girls. Life was going pretty good until my job closed down for a huge amount of criminal activities that I never knew was going on 2 years ago. Then its been down hill for us ever since. The leaks got worse no matter how many times we tried to patch them, our floors are falling in, the ceiling in Rylee's room fell out. I started losing everything I have worked so hard for. This past snow storm a tree fell on our home. It came straight across Lylah's, and my bedroom, the laundry room and kitchen. My stove short circuited and went completely out. My mom replaced my stove with her old one, but hey it works. We cannot use our kitchen cabinets because of the leaks due to the now extremely damaged roof. Our kids trampoline was destroyed also, their only plaything now since in our last neighborhood someone stole their swingset, thank God we live in a great neighborhood now. I am an Eastern Band Of Cherokee Indians tribal member but since I do not live on tribal lands nor reservation, they will not help us. Also since my land is in my name saying I own my land and property (The man I bought it from I still owe 12,000$ but has already put the deed into my name and he will continue to get his payments until he is completely paid in full) neither will the State of Tennessee help us. Much to mine and Robby's heartache we will not be getting married this June because of everything that has happened to our home. Rylee 9 and Reese 4 share a room. Lylah 7, Alisha 9, and Sierra 14 share a room. Lylah and Alisha share a bed and Sierra sleeps on the couch. Since there has been a condemed house next door to us finally got tore down we now have a rat problem. A friend trying to help us out by giving us a futon bed and a couch bed also gave us bedbugs. Please help me and my family, Please you are our last hope because we have no where else to go, and no one to turn too. All my family lives in N.C and S.C and cannot afford to help us with a better, safer home. Nor can Robby's family. Please, please, please we really need your help.

  19. Hello my name is Stephanie McAlister, a couple years ago our house was hit by an extreme flood (we live in the desert so it wasn't expected) and our house got hit the most in our neighborhood, it tore through our backyard creating a six foot deep 15 foot wide ravine through our back yard and left over 3 feet of mud through our whole house….our insurance company did not cover any of this at all so it all came out of my mom and dads pocket out family came together and had to remove all the mud , repack the dirt to fill the ravine, and rip up 3 feet of dry wall all around the house to get all of the mud out of the walls and we are still working on it to this day to try and fix everything. It hit my parents really hard in their bank accounts, my father has had to work non stop day AND night to pay the bills and fix the house up . It really took our moral down and almost demotivated my dad and my family when our precious house was ruined in under 40 minutes by water and mud. I'd love to see my parents moral picked back and put back on their feet in a comfortable home, they've worked so hard for my sister and I to live well and is love to see them repaid back dramatically <3 thank you

  20. My family and i need to get out of our house, we are currently living in a duplex that has bills that cost more than a big house. The house is old. The windows have black mold and are falling apart. We have no story only struggle. The house is depressing and has had people do cazy witchcraft things. The sinks all drain to the basement walls. It always leaks. We do notmlike being near a crazy neighbor either. Weve been stuck here for 7 years always trying to get out but something always gets in the way. No one wants tp be here and it breaks apart our family. It iss me the daughter and I am 16, my step father, and my mother who live here. No one ever wants to come because theres not enough room. Not to mention the walls dont even let u sit right on the toilet. Im clpse to moving to my dads all the way across the country because I dont want to be here. The stairs are super steep and my mom has fallen many times and had to have surgery many times because of it. Including my dog. I am fed up. Please help us get out of this situation. I never knew a house could impact lives so greatly.

  21. Hello ty,
We love your show and i know a very deserving family that needs your help. There is two veterans, a five year old and an un employed wife living together. Please send me the info to sign them up and god bess.

  22. MY grandma house burned down and she been homeless for 3 year her and her 2 granddaugher really need help please please help her

  23. I nominate my mother. She is a single widowed mother of 3 men one of 14,16,and 18. My mother is physically disabled waiting on her second back surgery and I would love to surprise her with a remodel home when she gets back from her surgery. Our house has dry wall showing and and rafters showing and no flooring in most rooms and the rooms that have flooring are cracked tiles and her husband (my father)died in 2006 and we have lived in this gutted house for years and I would really like to surprise her with a fully remodeled house and my mom is also in so much pain she is emotional 24/7 and would love for you to help our family out. Thank you!

  24. I need help with my home me and my family is in really bad need we can't get any help we r a low in come family my house is not in good shape could u please help me thank you

  25. I have a pretty big house it is all gutted out and really out dated there is rafters showing, no flooring in or barly flooring. Mostly dry wall in my house and paneling. I'm a single mom trying to raise 3 boys one is 14 one is 16 one is 18. And I am physically disabled waiting for a back surgery. I have lived in this gutted house for years and I'm really sick of it. I would highly appreciate your help

  26. My parents have always been extremely into volunteering with the church. My dad has dedicated several hours a week to the church since he was a child. He immerses himself in helping wherever he is needed and mom helps when she can as well. My mother has two full time jobs that keep cutting her hours. My father loves being techy and working with sound. He has been the "sound guy" for a few local bands and has mentored some youth in the church on the tech viewpoint. They stopped volunteering for a short time in the end of 2012 when my dad was diagnosed on September 4th with Leukemia (CLL) (a month after he was diagnosed my grandmother-mom's mom- was diagnosed with CMML- another form of Leukemia). My father was told that if they hadn't caught it when they did, he may have had only a few weeks. So he went under chemo and had strict guidelines. One chemo treatment and a few rotuxin rounds and he was tired but it was working. In Jan 2013 my grandmother started her chemo and dad started lightly volunteering at the church again. As the year went on he started getting back into the normal groove again just knowing he needed to remember his limits. He has struggled to hold a job for a while as well. On December 4, 2013 the doctors said remission!! Though 2 grandparents were getting worse, mom and dad balanced their time between work, taking care of dad's dad and mom's mom, and volunteering at the church. In the end of June 2013 my grandfather passed on and mid September my grandmother passed on. Throughout 2013 there were a couple friends of the family that passed as well. However with the passing of my grandparents, my Parents tried to take on as much of the work and worry themselves. The medical bills keep piling on and they currently are (and have been for 5+ years) renting one side of a double. Its very small and houses my parents, my sister, and their dog. Their side is so small and cramped that it for a while was making my dad more sick. We cleaned it a bit as a temporary fix. They don't need a big home just one that is safe and has clean air. Please help my parents.

  27. hello my name is charlotte,
I live with my parents, 19 year old brother and 4 month old son in the home my mom's parents built (over 50 years ago). My hole life my parents having been taking in our friends & family that have no where to go, until they can get on there feet. I'm happy to say all the ones that I still have contact with are doing amazing and living wonderful lives. My parents have always been "workaholics," last year we found out the true meaning behind the saying "when it rains it pours!" My dad went for his second knee surgery and recovery was going okay (not nearly as great as his first one) but they ran some tests and he had two blood clots on his lung… he went for more tests and he had stage 4 cancer. I'm happy to say that the blood clots are gone and the cancer is in remission. But all the chemo has affected him horribly he's now on oxygen and can barely walk to the bathroom without getting dizzy and almost passing out. to top it off his memory is failing and he knows it. My brother is working for a landscaping company and is doing snow removal but anyone whos been here this winter has seen that we've only had about a month total of snow! With me on maternity leave to take care of My son and Dad that leaves My mom being the only one with an income. My mom is working full time and can just barely cover all the bills. My mom is such a great women she comes home from and 8+ hour shift and cooks dinner and helps me with my son and takes care of my dad. On my moms days off she spends it taking care of my dad, cooking & cleaning. My moms only wish Is to have a new toilet, one that actually flushes.. that you dont need to fill a bucket full of water to flush everything down. My brother and I have tried to save up to buy her a Toilet but something always comes up that we need the money for. My dad has applied for everything possible to help with the bills but he keeps getting turned down because "my mom makes too much money." We only have 3 bedrooms in our home so me and my son sleep in the room closest to my parents so that when my mom leaves for work I can hear if my dad needs anything. But because the rooms in our house are soo small I have taken over my parents upstairs living room for all my sons stuff leaving my mom with no space to have a moment to breath. With my dad using a walker he can rarely get outside to go to the vehicle because of all the stairs. my dad is the only one in our house with a licence, my brother has a learners so if we need a ride anywhere my dad has to come, so my brother has someone with a licence to drive with him. Or I can walk down to the grocery store if its small amounts that fit in my stroller and My brother can stay home with our dad. Our home is slowly falling apart & our water smells horrible from the old pipes and there is nothing we can do about it! My family really needs this, especially my mom shes the kind of person that would never ask for help from anyone!!
    -Charlotte

  28. I am a single mom of three children. I attend Ohio State University and my major is social work. I have a four year old son, a nine year daughter, and a five year daughter with a rare genetic disorder called trisomy seven. it is very hard for me to find employment that is willing to work with the schedule I have. I apartment I live in is handicap accessible at all. My five year old daughter has been in and out of hospitals most of her live. She so manly medical compilations, so everyday that she is here on earth with me is a blessing.

  29. I'm not good at asking for any type of help especially since I know there are people out there worse off than I am. My husband and I have 4 children at home between the 2 of us and we live in a 2 bedroom mobile home. We have 1 girl and 3 boys. My husband has not worked in several years due to health problems but I work 40 plus hours a week in a nursing home and still can not make ends meet enough to get something better. My husband, mother in law and brother in law all own the land jointly so that makes it difficult to get help due to the land being jointly owned. My dream is just to have a house for my family. It doesn't have to be anything fancy or anything just big enough for 6 of us. My girl is 14 and the boys are 10, 15 and 17. The 15 year old is mentally challenged and will most likely always live at home. At least he's not planning on ever leaving home cause he says he will always need his dad and I to help take care if him. It would mean the world to my family to have a house and not be crowded and have no room and hardly any privacy.. It would be so so greatly appreciated if you could make this happen for my family.

  30. My name is Christal culver and i am a wife and mother of 7 beautiful children aged 9-17. These last few years have been really hard for me and my husband. In 2011 we were evicted from our home due to him losing his job and me not being able to keep it up by myself. We have since been residing with his grandmother in her 3 bedroom house which we also share with his cousin who is her full time caretaker since her stroke. My husband is an AC/HVAC Tech since 2014 when he completed. school .But there is just not enough income coing in to do the necessary repairs to our home to make it safe .The reason why i feel we should be a candidate is the house thaywe are loving in has multiple points of structural damage and water damage. There is mold and mildewwhich affects the breathing of my asthmatic children and their grandmother. The bathtub/shower is almost completely unusable due to watrleakage behind the shower wall which makesthe tiles fall in thebath. My husband and i am unable to sleep together like a normal couple because of the lack of space in the house. I am sharing a room with my daughters,my 17 year old shares a room with his cousin and my husband and other two sons aleep in the living room on a mattress. I am asking that you find it in your heart to pick my family for a makeover. I would like for my children to be able to have somewhere they can call their own. We reside in jacksonville,Fl and my main focus is to make sure that my grandmother in law and childrn have aomewhere safe and healthy to call home.

  37. I honestly do not like asking for myself. But I will ask for my family. I always say I am a survivor. I survived 2 divorces,a house fire we had is 2005 and now my new house being foreclosed. I am a divorced mother of 2 wonderful young ladies 18 and 22 and 3 beautiful grand children 6,4 and 3 . We have been homeless for about 7 months now, living with family from time to time. It getting harder living with all these people under one roof. Don't get me wrong I appreciate all the help we have been giving. But my oldest daughter can't live with her kids cause of less room,so she gets to see them when she can and with no car for either of us it is hard. I know their are allot of people who deserve this more then me.
I am also disabled,I have rheumatoid arthritis, lymphedema, and lgl leukemia. My daughters both have bipolar. I know I may not be worthy of anything. But I would like a chance for us to be in our own home and living peacefully.
Their is allot of stress in this little house. I don't just ask for me I ask for all my family. Thank you for your time

  38. I'm 18. I've had a rough life going in and out of foster homes. My moms just got married she's only 34 and she has a new daughter and a husdband no help for us. I have raised my little brother. I have a new fiancé and I live in a trailer. My trailer has towel walls for insulation. Broken windows doors with giant holes above them. No insulation under my home we lose our water all winter. I have 8 people living with me I take any friends who need a home. I am a happy young woman wanting to start a family and I would love to start that in a home of my own that's not trashy.there are lots of deserving people and I would be thrilled to get a home. If not I'm happy for those who do get one

  39. hi my name is Sarah Johnson and I'm the mother of 4 children 3 boys and 1 girl and recently their dad (whom we have been together for 10 years going on 11 in June) just found out that he was blind and would be this way for the rest of his life. It has been very hard for us to adjust to the situation and our home is no where near where it needs to be for him to make it around, nor do we have the money to make it to where he would be able to get around like he needs to… it's hard for the kids and for him to be the father that he needs to be to the children with us being this way. He has coped with this and done a very good job I'm very proud of him but it would be very very great if we could get Extreme Home Makeover edition here to get the home to where it needs to be in order for our family to live the life that we should and the kids deserve. There are many adjustments that need to be made in order for the house to be up to par. Were 27 & 28 and we own our house we just need to make the adjustments that he needs in order to make it around the house being blind and in order for the kids to live a life of normal with him being this way without having to help him constantly, they are 10, 5, and 1 and we just had a newborn that was born in December and has been in the NICU ever since. We are struggling with paying our bills due to his high medical bills and prescriptions on top of he has no insurance, I had to quit my job in order to be at home with the kids and be back and forth at the hospital with Amari and take care of and help my husband. We would be more than thankful especially the kids if we could give them the house they wish for everyday. Thank you for listening and for your time i really hope we are considered for the show!!!! Ty is amazing at what he does!

  41. Hi i'm 14 years old and hoping you can possibly help my family and I out. We all currently live in a 3 bedroom house but were about to get evicted and we have no where else to go but a shelter. My mom's wife left a month ago and after that things have went downhill. My mom is sick and cannot work, she can barely pay the bills and we don't even have enough money to pay for any of the utilities for now. Were forced to leave a lot of stuff behind and only take our clothing and anything else we can take, I really hope you can help us please.

  43. My family has been used to a big house all of our lives and we had to leave the city of covington because it was getting real bad down there and now we live in a trailer that is 100% clustered and we live on a windy mountain in brooksville ky. I moved back with my parents to take care of them and i have a young son that is with me and an oldest that was with other family who is wanting to come back home and i have no extra room. The trailer company put our trailer half way on someone elses property now we have to pay rent for that spot. They put our septic down and ran over it and it leacks in six diferent spots. My mom or myself, im not for sure if we will need a weel chair latter on but there is no room for a weel chair in this trailer. Its a. mess. I miss your show. Im sorry to hear about Amy. God bless…. please help us

  44. I have a friend (now 23) who quit school at the age of 8 to get a job to help his family after his father had a accident and lost the control of the left side of his brain. His father worked for the railroad which made plenty of money to support the family. After a one year stay in the hospital they lost everything (cars, house and everything else they sold to make money to survive. Caleb walked every day for miles just to find work…but being so young no one would hire an 8th grader. One day he came upon a man who gave him a chance and he has worked hard to help the family. His sister had a baby boy who is being raised by his mom and dad. The six of them live in a small two bedroom hunting shack. He works two weeks at one job and two weeks at another. Both jobs are 7 days a week. Just recently he was in a accident and ended in the hospital. His mom works cleaning camping tralors for the oil workers…who just cut her pay. They have tried to apply for a home loan but have been turned down. I wish I had the money to help this family. The medical bills are killing them. Food is very scarce. PLEASE HELP THEM

  45. On January 11 2014 my daughter suffered a gunshot wound to her neck leaving her paralyzed from the chest down. The day she the accident happened I was trying on wedding gowns to marry the love of my life. Our whole lives changed. My now husband agreed that we could not put her in home. I would resign my job from our local sheriff's office and take care of her full time. My husband had been a bachelor raising his children on his own and the house was and is in desperate need of help. We tried making a handicap room for my daughter but it is so small its difficult to take care of her in the space provided. He has 6 children and I have 4 so we are a very large family. All of our funding has gone to taking care of my daughter. We have tried to make the house livable but there are so many problems with plumbing and wiring and insulation and space. On top of everything that's happened my youngest daughter and her 6 year old son also came to live with us because she is breaking free of a physically abusive relationship that has lasted for 7 years. Now we are trying to help her with attorney fees and provide a safe place for her and my grandson. I thought this would be the beginning of a new chapter in my life finding and marrying this amazing man. Its a new chapter alright… Just a different direction. Please help us make this house a home. We are a family full of love and giving hearts. We just need help.

  46. Hi, my name is Wendy Wagner. I'm a widow with two sons that are living with me that are trying to help with the bills, but things are working out too well. I have a house in Pittsylvania County Virgina that I am renting out due to the fact that I needed to move to Danville to be close to my jobs. I am 60 years old, I work a full time job Monday – Friday and work a part time job on Saturday and Sunday. My husband passed in 2008 of a massive heart attack and we have been struggling since. We have debt from him and trying to get above board and were taken advantage of. I am not looking for a free hand out I want to be able to live on the land that my husband left me and enjoy our life. The home that is on the land is in severe need of repair and I don't want to displace the person renting. Please help us and give us our dream.

  47. We beat the odds getting married at 18&19 yrs old. That was 25 yrs ago. It was always a tough road financially. We worked very hard for very little. About 15 years or more ago , I was diagnosed with severe Fibromyalgia. I had to stop working my dream job as a cosmetologist. Im in pain every day. All my sense are affected as well as the many other problems, and illness that come with it. We have no extra money. The pillars holding our house up have fallen over on one end. Floors buckling. Paneling in the whole house as well as popcorn ceiling falling in. We are devastated. We all have Asthma. That me, my hubby Tim, and daughter Jennah. My son and wife are given us our first grandbaby anytime and I hate to put her on out buckling floor or nasty carpet. We try so hard. We just need a helping hand. We've never did vacations or anything frivolous. We also have tried to help out home and family. My daughter suffers migraines. Sometimes we wonder if our home is making us sick. We have 2 dogs Jack and Quigley. I've dreamed of a fence so I can let them out and let them wander. You show touches my heart so much. We seem to be a family of crap luck. I'd love for that to change. My husband works so hard, then picks up my slack from being sick so much. I'd love for him to stop worrying about our home for a change. And I would love a great bed and sanctuary I could get relief. My daughter deserves a beautiful room just like her. I'd love my husband to have a garage or room to tinker in. He's so deserving. Please bless us with this. Ty and God be with you all and praise the beautiful work you do.

  48. The Brooklyn IL Firehouse is in shambles!
There is no money in the city budget for the firemen. They are all volunteer and without the equipment they need. The fire house has no heat or ac, no running water and a leaking roof. The fire truck is obsolete from the 80's. I pray you will help them. God Bless us all.

  49. Hello Ty, I would like to apply for the 2015 Extreme Makeover for my family. We moved from Florida 5 years ago due to the decline. My husband, myself and my son lost our jobs around the same time and was not able to find jobs. My husband was offered a job in Iowa and we had 2 weeks to pack up our belongings and move here. We had to leave all our family and friends behind with the exception of my mother and the two youngest sons and start a new life. We moved into pretty much the only vacant home in the area that we could afford at the time. We are in a contract with a private lender and bought the place as is. Dumb, I know but we had to have a roof over our head. The first Spring we were here it was a pretty wet one and the roof started leaking and did quite a bit of damage to the bathroom and around the front door in the living room. We are pretty much living paycheck to paycheck. In February my son and his fiance gave birth to a beautiful baby girl. My soon to be daughter in law had quite a few complications during birth and had to have an emergency c-section and then hemorrhagedand had to have a complete hysterectomy at the age of 20. Two weeks after Zoey was born we were informed that she has cystic fibrosis. They say that the main goal is to keep her healthy. I feel with the roof leaking and the hole in the living room floor she is not very safe here. We can't afford to fix it up because we are taking care of my son, his fiance and grandbaby and times are tough. I love my family and would do anything in the world for them. I know its going to be hard for them to make ends meet on their own because of medical expenses and other things so they are currently living with us and will remain here indefinately. I would really like to have our home up to standard and be a germ free, mold free environment for little Zoey. Thank you for your consideration in our situation.Sincerely Glenna Anderson of Strawberry Point, Iowa

  50. My grandmother and granfather have always been the backbone of my family. They are always there for others without exchanging any words or without hesitating.when my mother was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer snd got the tumor removed they were there. When my uncles had heart attacks snd kidney surgery, they were there. About 3 years ago, my granfather had prostate cancer and is now cancer free. My grandmother recently had a complete shoulder replacement and rotator cuff sugery. My grandfather still manages to get up at 4:00 every morning to work. I appreciate them and everything they have done and continue to do and think they deserve a home makeover.

  51. I'd like to nominate my handicap brother: Patrick Horgan. He is 45, happily married and they have a boy 11, and a girl 15. (Children are exceptionally gorgeous). Patrick was born with Spina Bifida at a time that Medical Technology has advanced to be able to save their lives. Consequently Patrick is an older Spina Bifida survivor. He endured many corrective surgeries at a young age, but always has had an infectious personality, witty sense of humor and "knows everyone". He married Laura, whom he met in college. She is the daughter of a pathalogist and also is quite smart. Patrick uses a wheelchair and a car lift. They own a home, have a dog and kids are fun loving. As a sister it breaks my heart to see how they lack mobility as a family. Love and humor abound but limitations are evident. His car is old, his lift breaks, the house is small and gets messy. He can't mow their lawn, therefore they have no lawn but live on a big lot. Patrick can not fix or build things so dependency on friends and families a constant. All involved give their time and because of the deep friendships- everyone wants to help and wants the best for them. Money can only go so far however. The kids are great, they participate with pushing their fathers wheelchair and all the chores that go with a disabled father. I want more life, freedom, access, and fun for this very loving family. They own their home, live in a culdesac and at least are safe tucked in this neighborhood. To meet them is to have friends forever. But it also tugs at your heart strings. They deserve better. They deserve an Extreme Home Makeover

  53. My son and his family are really struggling. Their 1960's house is falling apart, flooring in small bathroom and small kitchen is torn. Wood underneath floor in bathroom is spongy. Tiles around nasty old tub have fallen off over last few years, as they were glued on by previous owner.:-/ Cupboards doors have fallen off. Flooding in laundry room, on a crawl space. Windows are cracked. My son is graduating next year from college with a masters, I believe. He's been going full time plus extra classes to hurry and get thru. He used to be a police officer in another state, but when they moved back home, all officers were being laid off. So Now he's into the medical field. Wife works as much as she can, but gets called off work a lot when not enough patients are in hospital. She's waiting to get into the nursing program. Their lives together are falling apart due to all the stress and I am very afraid they'll end up divorced. they have three children.

  54. 55. I m a disabled veteran of 17 years service to the U S Army and my fiancee is terminal with MS with little time left to live. We have been trying to build a home on our lot in Trotwood Ohio for 4 years but every time we try to get started the city sends its police officers to try and fight us any way they can even using violence and taking to jail for 30 days just to stop us from owning a home can you help us please this is a true injustice.(

  56. Hello my name is Krista I'm applying for my mother Raisia we'll growing up with my three little brothers and the two little ones I have noticed how our house is getting it's really old and because my mom was single it was really hard but a few years later she got married everything was going good until our house was falling apart like our cabinets were falling down our washer an dryer don't work and our bathroom has mold we don't have a yard. Later on I started to realize that living with four little siblings was more than enough and how small the house was getting to small .So my my grandma is about to retire she has been working for 20 years at a high school me and my grandma have been living in a teachers apartment and we are about to move back to my moms house and it will get small again. 57. Hello, I've never entered anything before. My family has had a lot of lost in the past 4 years. First, my grandfather, who was the head of this family past away August 25, 2011. He had been sick for a long time with cancer. My grandmother is still grieving from it. We all are. On April 17, 2013, My dad past away from a massive heart attack. This has impacted my life in a major way. Close to the end of the 2013 and 2014 year, My husband lost 3 of this brothers months apart. My grandmother is up in age, she turned 80 on December 3. She has fallen in the house. There are steps throughout the house, its just so hard for her and my mom. My mom can't do to much for her self. She is very independent, and wants to do, but the house its fit for a person that should be in a wheelchair and or using a walker. The floors are weak and some of the rooms are very small. My husband and I moved from Dallas, TX, back to Louisiana to take my mom out of the nursing home, and to take care of my grandmother as well. My husband and I put our feelings aside and time alone to take care of them. Trust me, we don't mind. But sometimes its very hard. We spend out 4th year anniversary and my birthday at home. We were not able to go any where. We both have a fear of leaving them here by their selves. All I ask is if you would help us help them. I ask if you would please help. This house need a lot of work. Thank you for you time, The Evans and Garner Family.

  58. My mom and dad have done so much for me and this would be the greatest thank you ever. My mom was just diagnosed with fibro myalgia and its hard for her to do the everyday tasks that need to be done bc her body hurts constantly. my dad has really bad back problems, along with losing his dad 4 years ago this month. My sister loves with them..she is 26 with down syndrome and will be 27 this year. She is the most precious young lady and my parents want to give her ao much but funds are not there to do so. I also have a brother that lives with them, he has severe anxiety and its hard for him to function in society so he finds relief being outside. They live in a single wide trailer that has been added on to but the place is falling apart. The bathroom needs to be replaced, my sostera room needs to be bigger so she can truly have the room to express what she can do. Daddy works so hard to provide for them but its like its not enough. I want them to have a better place to live where their light bill isnt $500. I really wish this for them. I pray everyday that God will bless them and give them this.

  59. I'm currently watching your show on television and seeing all the stories that are on here I don't even know how to ask for help. However I'll start from the beginning my family is originally from Alabama and it started with a family of 17 with 13 that lived. One of my uncles moved to Pensacola florida and built this home he later got sick with cancer and my grandmother had to leave my mother who was pregnant with me in Alabama to come take care of her brother. My mother later moved here after I was born and helped my grandmother take care of my Uncle Dan who later passed away so my mother and grandmother stayed in Pensacola. Fast forwarding years later 6/7/2013 we laid my grandmother to rest after she suffered a stroke which led by a brain aneurysm and we suddenly lost her. She had two children my mother and my uncle we buried her the day after her only son birthday and the day after her only daughter birthday and 6 days before my birthday. Before she passed she helped me raise my two children in that home a 7 year old son and a 8 year old daughter who to this day talks about seeing her in the stars because they know she is watching over us. We were trying to fix the house up before she passed which was a struggle because she wanted to live my uncles legacy from what he built. Once she passed it was so hard to stay there because the house is falling apart and it's so many memories of her still there. I'm asking for help to revamp the home so that its livable for the kids and I so that we can move back in and finish living in the legacy of my uncle and my grandmother because me doing it in my own is impossible. Thank you so much for taking the time to read this and I pray that you guys can help my family if not I know it'll be because someone needs it more than us.

  61. My parents desperately need their home remodeled or rebuilt. It is falling apart and it leaks so bad. When my father was a bit younger he thought he was a carpenter and tried remodeling and messed up big time. Over the years my parents have taken in anyone who asked and have fed them and never asked for much. Both my parents have had cancer my mother twice, breast cancer and lung cancer and my father lung cancer. They both quit but need oxygen and the house is so moldy and dusty just unhealthy. My niece and her new baby also live there to help my parents. My parents bought this house so their children could each get a piece of property and build on it but come to find out the 7 of 12 acres is not build-able and my father is heartbroken over this. My father will be 77 in June and he just sleeps all day from being so depressed and the nasty air he is breathing. My parents have a full basement that my niece would love to move into but its leaking and needs so many repairs. This house could be a beauty. Please I know you cant help everyone and no one person deserves more than the next so I hope this makes it! I wish I could do more.
    Thank you,

  62. Hello, I am applying because I am in desperate need of home repair. I live in the basement of my grandparents house, I have a new baby, and we have wires hanging from our ceiling the ceiling in my sons room is about to come down so he has to stay in my room, I can't afford anything on a fast food job I work at, my grandparents are old and both have lung cancer so they can't help out phsycially and they have no money to help me fix it financially, the whole house is falling apart, I just want a safe place for my son to live, the whole downstairs floods very badly when it rains, I just didn't know where else I could turn. Thank you for read this.

  63. Where do I start? My Grandma is the most wonderful person I have ever met or known. I, along with my two older brothers who both have autism, live with my Grandmother. My mom and dad got divorced years ago, my mom lived with my Grandma for years, but got remarried and moved out, my brothers and I stayed with my Grandma and Grandpa. My mom has two little girls and a second husband, Doug. My mom has moved over 7 times in the past few years due to financial reasons. My dad, has a second wife and three new kids, he lives about 30 minutes away from my Grandma's house, my house. A few years ago, my younger brother was taken to live with my dad, because of behaviorial issues in school, he comes up every weekend and every other week in the summer. My Grandma sleeps on the couch in the living room, and when my brother comes shares it with him, and comes to sleep with me in my bed, which used to be her and my Grandpa's room. We have a room in the basement besides my oldest brother's, but it is a cat room and has a big bed full of cat hair, whenever it rains or snows, it floods full of water. In 2011, my Grandpa passed away, it was very sad and devastating for the whole family, he was essentially my siblings and I father. My Aunt and her friend, lives two streets over from us, and tries to support my Grandma and us, in anyway that we can. She helps my Grandma pay for me to go to Incarnate Word Academy all girls High School and also just with things like groceries and clothes and etc.. My Grandma supports everyone in everything and anything they may do, and with going and choosing a college, and scholarships and money to pay for college. She also do things to guide my brothers, with schooling and all my brothers for consouling for their autism and also for my anxiety. Recently, we have been faced with the fact the the house, that we love and that we own, might be taken away from us by the government, that would be absolutely devastating because so many memories and things have been created in this house, it is the center and basis for so many people. I feel bad because she does so much and I want to do something truly miraculous for her. The house is great, but the basement needs improvement, when it rains it floods. The kitchen is so small, my Grandma loves to cook and clean, she cleans everyday. She also loves animals, we have two dogs, three cats, a hamster, and two fish tanks, she even makes sure to buy bird food for the outside birds. We do not have enough room to store things, there are draws everwhere and piles of things on the dining room tables, closets, and etc.. The backyard is huge but often muddy from rain and lack of grass. She would deserve this more than anyone I know because she is truly amazing, and is always positive, saying wouldn't that be amazing if they would do that to our house, I agree with her and have decided to try it out for her. She does so many things for others, I just want to REALLY do something amazing for her. Thank You so much for the consideration.

  65. Wow,how do I ask for myself after seeing everyone needing help. This is hard, Im 43 and was diagnosed at 14 with charcot marie tooth disease (its part of mda family) I had to stop working and became homebound..my husband returned to active duty army to help with insurance and bills. We have a 12 yr old daughter (she loves to sing and play guitar with her dad when he can be home and she helps so much but with him moving around state to state its to much on us to relocate and loose our home. He has not been deployed yet and if it happens, hes our everything, Im so proud of him..hard to put into words. Its been a challenge weve been married almost 13 years and never had a honeymoon, we married on a saturday and returned to work the following week. I worked in the hospitality and tourism industry for 20 years and love our community, its a small town. We love our home but realize it wont meet the accessibility I'll need in the future and I dont want him to worry about us, he loves us and the Army and plans to retire thru the Army. If I dont win I wish everyone happiness and hope, take care.

  67. On Monday March 16, 2015 there was a 4 alarm fire started at Staten Island New York. I lived next door where the fire spread to. I stayed in the basement with my girlfriend Catherine Miloscia and our 3yr old son Vinny. The house was my girlfriends sisters Maria Wigren who is a single mother of 2. She has a 9yr olds girl Mary who was upstairs sleeping at the time and a 13yr old son Robbie. Everyone is okay..Thank the powers that be.From what my girlfriend tells me..Marias ex husband left her and the kids awhile ago and never comes around and owes her over $40k in child support and she's never seen a dime. Maria struggled working 2 jobs was behind on the mortgage and don't think had insurance so also things in house won't be reimbursed as well. I myself work on commission so every check isn't the same..if I made a nice check I would do what I could for her. My girlfriend Catherine works with Autistic children and only gets paid $500 every other week…so we were all struggling. So this is my story and this is why I believe we deserve to have a roof over our heads.

    Sincerely,
    Derek Raccuglia

  71. For the past couple years my mother and father has been going through the worst. My father, Henry Butler had to stop working a few years ago due to his health and it's been a struggle for me and my parents day in day out. My dad has had numerous surgeries to his neck, surgery on his knee and soon another surgery on his knee following his left shoulder. It's been a lot on my mother Tyna butler especially since she's holding everything together fiancially. I moved back home just to help to make sure my parents would have extra help but I can only do so much with my expenses. My mother has her own battles health wise dealing with hypertension her blood pressure been so bad she's been in and out the hospital. She works non-stop takes care of my father and does the best she can. And my dad tries to do things if his body will let him. The house is falling apart, water pipes busted under the house this past week. Cabinets in the kitchen is holding on to a thread. The space in the house is limited and it's not helpful. We're having to boil water just to take a bath because the water tank has went out completely and we can't afford anything at the moment. My mother goes to a food every month just to make sure there's food on the table it breaks my heart to see them like this. It's numerous of things that's a burden on my parents and they deserve the most. They have helped many and continue to even through this struggle were enduring. Please help us, most importantly them.

  72. Hello, my name is Kassandra and I'm here to apple for my mother Brenda Munoz. I've always felt the need to do something of this sort yet never had the courage. Growing up as a child, single Mother of five, never really knew how to appreciate the small things'. As time went by I came to realize having a Mother, and four siblings under the same household was more than enough.I was taught that working for what you want will take you were you want. Now going on 22yrs of age I have seen one of the strongest Woman I know making something from nothing. Being able to go to sleep on a full stomach"heaven." After working over ten yrs, multiple jobs, and seeing minor changes I built the courage to ask for help. My mother, my Angel is in desperate need of ABC Family!
