  1. Hello my name is shalee. My family lives in a one red light little po' donk town, but it is our home, my family has lived on one road for 4 generations now. My mother is a single mother of 3, and helped raise her sisters children and a few of my brothers friends when he was in grade school. She has always had a soft heart for children or anyone that need a place to stay when they need to get back on their feet. My brother and mother live togather. He has a home on that same road all our family is on. His dad and him were just starting to tear down and redo the house, and out of nowhere his father passed away. It was very unexpected, and ever since he has not touched the house. I really believe he needs help with it. Every year after his father passed a male has passed away, and now he is the only male in our family and he feels a lot on his shoulders. I think our family would be very greatful

  2. I'm Johanna, 29, married, waited 7 years for husband get a vasectomy reversal, he has 4 boys, I finally get pregnant with a baby girl, at 6 months pregnant got into a bad accident, was hit head on by a car, lost baby,my husband still has back injuries and he's finally back to work after 6 months. Our house is older and needs a lot work done.

  3. Hi my name is misty henley. My husband's father lost every thing in a house fire on January 31st 2015. he pulled his wife of 35 years, who was a hospice patient, out of the fire and after a fierce battle with cancer, he lost her on February 25th 2015. Please help my father in law get a home built. My family wants to take care of him and He is currently staying with us. he needs somewhere to truly call home. My husband and 4 year old son are devastated. They lost a wonderful mother grandmother and the Sweetest soul I have ever met.

  4. Hi, my name is Dawn and I'm hoping to help out a great family. It's actually two families. The grandmother whose disabled and has raised her children and grandchildren. Her home is in deplorable conditions with holes to the outside, ceilings falling in and an abundance of mold in her walls. The home isn't safe. This is one great lady, when her daughter was down and out she took her children and raised them. She currently has another grandchild she's trying to raise. She has another daughter living in her yard and her home is also in dire need. The neighborhood she lives in is close to a river that is currently overflowing/flooding and is very close to flooding these homes. Right now we have set up a gofundme account for them but it's not doing as well as we had hoped. If there is anything you can do we'd greatly appreciate it. I've tried Habitat for humanity but I don't think she can afford to do it that way on her fixed income. I Couldn't help them work on it either as I'm a retired veteran and I had brain surgery in November and surgery on my spinal cord this February so we couldn't meet their requirements to help build the habitat house. Please help me to help them. Anything or any assistance you could provide would mean the world to this family.

  6. HI MY NAME IS SUE SWORD, IN DECEMBER OF 2014 A YOUNG COUPLE WITH THREE BOYS LET THEIR SONSWALK DOWN TO GRANDMAS HOUSE ON CHRISTMAS NIGHT TWO DOOORS DOWN TO SPEND THE NIGHT BECAUSETHE BOYS DIDNT WANT GRANDMA TO BE ALONE ON CHRISTMAS NIGHT.NOT KNOWING THIS WOULD BE THE LAST TIME THEY WOULD EVER SEE THEIR CHILDREN AND THE GRANDMA AGAIN. AT ABOUT 4:30 THAT MORNING THE HOUSE CAUGHT FIRE AND BURNT WITH NONE OF THEM ESCAPING.THE COUMITY WAS GREAT AND CAME TOGETHER FOR THEM AND THE FIRE MADE NATIONAL NEWS. MY SON AND DAUGHTER-IN-LAW TOOK THE PARNETS AT THE END OF FEBURARY TO FLORDIA TO GETAWAY FOR A WEEK THINKING THIS WOULD HELP THEM TO GET THEIR MINDS CLEAR AND HOPING WHEN THEY CAME BACK HOME THEY WOULD BE READ TO ENTER THE WORK FORCE AGAIN.M SON PHONED ME AFTER RETURNING HOME VERY MUCH BESIDE HIMSELF, FINDING THAT THESE TO WILL PROABLY NEVER BE READY.LIKE M SON SAID WE'VE ALL MOVED ON FROM THIS TRAGIC EVENT BUT THESE TWO ARE STILL STUCK ON THAT VERY MORNING.THEY WAKE UP EVERY DAY TO THE SCENE OF THE FIRE AND THE DEATH OF THEIR SONS AND THE GRANDMOTHER.MY SON BOBBY SWORD thinks that if their home could be remolded that some how this might. the land where the house burnt ,the father has remarked that he'd love to have the money to build a wrestling room for the kids in our coumnity. His boys were all in sports and he took them to other towns to wrestling meets and since the death of his boys he still has other kids in our coumunity calling to see if he will drive them to practice or to other meets. If there is anyway you could see fit to help this grieving family it would be much appericated.thank you so much and may god bless each and everyone of you.

  7. Hello my name is Scott Edwards. My dad and mom are both struggling with health problems and with their house. My dad is disabled and tries his hardest to make the best for him and my mom but he just isn't able to do I it anymore. He is on oxygen 24/7 and on a cane. My mom just had knee replacement and she also has copd. Their house is where they raised all three of their kids, me and both my older sisters. The house is pretty much falling apart and we all hate to see it because its our home and we try to help them but we just cant afford everything it needs. They are both great Christian people and the greatest parents anyone could ask for, I just wish they could finally enjoy there home and life. They gave us a great life and they deserve a great life. Please help my parents to enjoy the rest of their life. Thank you and god bless.

  8. My name is Sandra Foss.Recently a single mother of three their home caught fire and burned . They lost everything including their pets. We live in a small town and are currently taking clothes toys and any kind of donations to help. I was hoping you guys could help her. She works two jobs to support her family. Even just getting her story out may help to.

  9. My name is Maria Buono and these past couple of years my family has been through quite a lot. My father was overcoming heart problems and three years ago was hospitalized and thought to die. It prepared my family and my mom the most because she had to take over a popular bakery my dad owned in rhode island. My mom then had to stop her life to take care of everything-her four children and a husband in a coma as well as a bakery she never really stepped foot it. Eventually my dad healed and it was a battle for my mom. She continued to work at the bakery and my dad just got worse and worse. She had and still has so much on her plate. Exactly a week ago my father passed away unexpededly. My mom now has more on her plate with funeral costs, running the bakery, and other personal issues. Not only has my mom had to bury her husband, but she also lost a daughter a couple years ago who was only one year old. The house we live in has had issues for a while and while my dad was alive he tried fixing them.. Now she has a big empty house that reminds her of my dad and just feels too quiet. We have mold in our basement and when my brother from the army visits my mom has to sleep on the couch (which is where she has been sleeping for the last 5 years)my mom continues to give to her church and her friends and family-she is always looking to help others but never does anything for herself. She deserves something to be done for her. When I was a child her and I always used to watch this show and I always said she would be on it someday because she deserves it.

  10. Hello,
My name is Raeanne I have read a lot of the applications for this show. It is amazing how many people try there best to hold on to what they have . I am very thankful to see people like you that love to help other people…. The world needs more of them!!
My story begins like most others I was a single mother of 2 untill 2010 . Met this wonderful man that ive known over 26 years .He took on the responsiability of helping me with my 2 handicap sons, a very tall order. One son has eplipsy and consept issues of time, money, dont think clearly… and the other has cereable palsy, eplipsy, cant talk, double scolisis in his back, adhd, and both will never live on there own.
our home we were so desperatly trying to fix to accomidate our needs but it fell through….we are not going to give up we have one that would be what we need but it needs a little fixing. I work at the United States Post Office a letter carrier for 11 years (I know its not military but is it for our government ) and stll am not full time also had numerous 2&3rd jobs all my life. My husband is a full time factory worker has sugar, blind in left eye,had a surgury (hip replacement) that went wrong no one will fix (he has a lot of pain and cant do steps that well nor my son with C.P.)but works every day like we all have to to servive. If we do qualify the upgrade will let me start back up my non-profit equestrian therupedic center again so i can help people like my sons through horse theropy.
I know who ever you chose Is very deserving….Keep up the GOODNESS!!!!!
    Not Giving Up…..
    Raeanne Kelly & Family

  11. Hello I'm submitting a request for my aunt that took me and my 7other siblings in when my mother was away.my grandmother passed away suddenly and without question my aunt didn't ask for money or any help when taking us in. We had nothing the day she took us in. She provided a home for us and not one day did we feel like we didn't belong to her. Since then she has adopted another child and has also provided foster care for many other youth in our community. She is working 2 jobs to keep her home stable and will open her door to anyone. She is highly involved in the church with bible school or anything that should be done there . She deserves this more than anyone in the world because I have seen her struggle and I know her heart is sincere without a doubt

  12. My family seems to be going through one thing after another. My junior year of high school my dad lost his memory, no one knows why. Test were run, journals kept & many tears shed. We lived every day for six months with him not knowing who we were, 2 days before my second niece was born, he gets his memory back. To him it's like he went to sleep & woke up six months later. He has no memory of those six hard months. During that time of memory loss, we lost our home. The home that all our memories were made. You see, me dad was our main income. Due to his memory loss, he couldn't work. I was in High School but happened to pick up little babysitting, or housesitting jobs here & there. And my mother, oh my sweet mother couldn't work due to taking care of the family & the love of her life who didn't even know who she was. We couldn't get no help from the government, & the doctors weren't pushing to find what was wrong. It seemed all hope was lost. We did lose our home, & are now living in an apartment. Thanks to my church family, who brought food, & prayed over us. During that same time, my brother signed over his life to the United States army, serving tours in Afghanistan. He was a sniper overseas & lost many loved ones. After coming home, he was diagnosed to cancer. And diagnosed with one of the worse cases of PTSD. So bad that the doctors here wouldn't treat him, they said he was "too bad" to treat. After months & months of trying to get him help, & being on waiting lists at the V.A. it took him just walking into the V.A. & telling them he was suicidal for them to finally help him. It's sad to say that the Military fights so hard to get you to sign up, break you, yet when you come home they don't wanna help mend you. We've had many sleepless nights over him. Not knowing if he'd take his life, or what was going on in his mind. SO much has gone on since then,& this is not even half. It's been hard, real hard, but the Lord's provided, & from all our loss we're trying to get back on our feet & mend our family. I guess the saying is true, when it rains, it pours! Please help us! We are still living in an apartment, it's roof over our heads, & a temporary haven for us, but we want a house. And if anything I want it for my parents! They've sacrificed so much for our family, my daddy has always worked hard to provide nice homes for us, & not only give us our needs but he's worked hard to try to give us all our wants. With his memory loss & losing our home, he's felt like a failure. It's not his fault & he's far from it, but I'd really like to help provide a home for him & my sweet mama who's cared for him & every one around her. She's what made any place we've lived in home. Please help!!

  13. Good morning I am looking to submit an application for a very well deserving family of 6 in Caldwell, NJ.
My friends house is a beautiful older home in dire need of repairs. 2 of her 4 children have Cystic Fibrosis ( what is the luck of that? ) yet Jeanne and Greg Courtright pull through everyday with multiple doctor visit, hospital visit, medications, and treatments and yet ALWAYS have overwhelming positive attitudes. Please consider them for the show its a wonderful family and a wonderful town.
    Thank you, Donna Moleski

  15. Im a mother of three beautiful children and I have the most amazing husband who works so hard to provide for all of us. My 7 year old son was born with cortical dysplasia and also has autism and epilepsy. We live in a very small home and our roof needs repair. I can not work because I stay home to take care of my son who requires 24 hour care. Its so hard im only writing because im desperate. My two boys share a room and its almost impossible to handle Aaron can not handle being in the same room as his brother and needs so many things we can not provide him. Me and my husband don't know what else to do we will do anything for our kids. I don't remember the last time we got out as a family because Aaron is so hard to take care of. This would change our entire life we have to keep my oldest out of their room because Aaron don't like him in there and I stay up all nite with son because he don't sleep. This would drastically improve our lives. If Aaron had his own room he could go to be on time and my oldest son wouldn't be so upset all the time because he cant have his own space. We would love to be considered for this it would mean everything to us.

  17. My name is Jennifer Phillips and my hometown is Waynesboro PA. I recently became acquainted with a amazing group of people that are trying to make a difference in our small town. Its located in Five Forks Waynesboro Pa. It's a Recovery House for those in need and a shelter to those in need of food and protection from the weather. Being in ministry I was impacted by their love and my husband and I decided to take some clothing and food up to donate and we had the oppurtunity of taking a tour of this 6 acre former ranch. Its beautiful but in need of much repair, some funding has been provided, but it's not enough to truly bring out the full potential of the dream and vision of the "New Hope Ranch" I know this may be a stab in the dark but I'm asking for your help. This team goes the extra mile to make the residents feel like family and offers them the time and love they need to recover and regain that confidence in themselves that they once had. Small communities such as our need a place like this that ones can turn to when life deals them with a bad hand. I ask that your team please consider the "New Hope Ranch" as your next project. They have blessed so many please consider blessing them. I thank you and God Bless!!!

  25. Hi i am 14 years old and i live on a horse ranch. i have 2 sisters and my parents are divorced, i had a brother named Dillon and he died at age 19 do to a drunk driver running him over. we (my family) is more than likely loosing our ranch do to a mean person and judge not listening to us, i wont get to much into the details, but anyway we are loosing our ranch and dont know where we would live. We would be leaving our beloved friends and family. I have 2 Sisters ages 14 and 4. and we live with our mom but the the 4 year old (not going to say her name do to she is only 4) has to go to exchanges and her father, her father has custody of her and we dont want to have to go somewhere far away and not see her. We dont want to loose her, we already lost our brother that we loved so dearly. My family has always dreamed of having a nice ranch and no judge or anyone to take away from us, and we have always dreamed about having a big indoor riding arena because we ride down the rode and it isnt very safe. we had all of these big dreams taken away from us, and now we dont think that we will ever have these big dreams of ours come true. My mom is in pain every day and we dont have the money to make a house and an indoor riding arena. we wake up thinking that this is another day closer to loosing our ranch and leaving our friends and family, alls what we have left to do is pray and wait, please help my family.

    With tears, Mikala

  26. My husband and I are caring for are 4 children in a run down house. We just bought a biger proberty that has a house that needs alot of work. Can you please come help

  27. My husband isn't able to work and our daughter is special needs we also are raising his grandson as well. The kids are 4 months apart. He is legally blind as well as other issues. Both men take a handful of pills a day to survive and stay well. I'm not able to work due to taking care of the family. We live in a apartment complex and every time it freezes and warms up it floods and isn't far to my family. Can you please help with a home for my family? Thanks for your time

  28. I don't really know how to start this but. hi, my name is carl pate. I am a united states marine and currently overseas. now me and my grandmother are posting on here to try to help my mother Stacy get her somewhat done home finished. now you said leave a story. well when I was younger we lost a house to a fire lost a brother that I didn't get to meet. now that's just two things because im not really one to let emotions show or to tell my business out to everyone. now my mother has been through a lot she is a single mom with 3 kids . she hasn't ever had anything handed to her. she likes to work hard and earn everything she gets. and has an awesome heart , she would do anything for anyone or anything. with that being said she often bites off a tad more then she can chew. but somehow always finds the will power to keep going. she has a house in dexter Missouri that is about half way finished I couldn't tell you much about it cause ive only seen pictures. she has not only my 6 year old little sister living with her but also my grandmother who isn't in the best of shape you could say. my mother is a hard working woman but even with hard work and her job she gets just enough to pay the bills and put food on the table. so there is no extra money to fix the house. me and my brother do the best we can to help out and support but its a little hard when your across the world. well I just think my mother would be a perfect candidate . I honestly believe she deserves to have a nice home to raise my sister up in and take care of my grandmother . thank you for your time and please consider my mothers house for a makeover I know it would take a lot off her shoulders.

  29. I am a member of the Jurupa Valley Lion's Club. We are a non-profit organization. The Lion's Club main focus is helping children from birth to 6 years old get testing for their eyes, and if need be, get them glasses to try and prevent long-term problems in the future. We also hold eye clinics to provide testing and glasses to all community members, no questions asked.

I joined the Jurupa Valley Lion's Club in November 2014.

We need help. We own the building and land we hold our meetings in, but it is stuck in the 70's. To earn money we rent our small building out for community and private functions and, we hold Bunco parties, have yard sales, and pancake breakfasts, etc. but don't earn enough money to update or expand anything after we pay taxes. I would be nice to have a place on the property to rent out and an updated kitchen and meeting room. If you can help out, it would be greatly appreciated.

  30. Hello my name is natalie I am 58 yrd old and would like to nominate my daughter stacy starkey. She is the single mother of 3 and has recently added the responsibility of taking care of myself. ( as my health is in poor shape) as old as 10 stacy has been everyone's backbone. She has always hekped others and has the biggest heart. My daughter has been thru losing a son a house to a fire. And has had a struggle at life since she's been grown. But my daughter doesn't give up. She doesn't let it make her a sour person. For every step forward my daughter gets plowed to her back. She has a job and altho it doesn't pay much she can't get no assistance. Stacy doesn't know the word give up she's had to fight too long to know how to. My daughter got a house here in dexter missouri and she and her son have did what they can to it before she can no longer afford to fix any more. She doesn't expect much of noone and believes n getting her hands dirty. Before I depart I'd love to see my daughters dream of her home being fixed to reality. I just had my left lung removed due to cancer and my daughter pushes til I moved with her to take care of me. Shes always looking out for others while she has noone who looks out for her. I'd love to see someone as deserving as my daughter have one dream n her life come true she has worked so hard and it breaks my heart to see her look at her unfinished home n wish she could just make enough extra to finish her home n I hear her when she cries cause she just wants a home her children can be proud of that she has worked so hard for. I'm babbling but tbh there's not enough I can say to tell you how much this qould mean to me and how much I know my daughter seserves this chance

  31. Bath Elementary school my mom works at in New Bruinswick, Canada is closing down and is combining with the middle school because they don't have enough students to keep both schools running. the school is old and needs a make over. The middle school (which had only 45 students) last year raised $10,000 to build a school in Nicaragua with Free the Children in only 6 months! they have made Volunteering and Helping others before themselves their motto . if they got a makeover then it would help make their learning experience better and help Repopulate the school. please consider this school for a makeover

  32. Hi, my stories is a true one and short. It just seems not thing good ever happens to me. I just would like something positive in my life… Something I will always remember…..

  33. Hello Ty,
I am here to tell a story for a person who has been through alot and continues to go through alot. Four years ago this spectacular person lost her job, and a couple of months after being unemployed her male companion of 20 years walked out on her saying "I will not be here when you lose everything". She always had a dream to begin her own business so she set out to do that, and of course with every great thing there is always a struggle. In 2013 she lost her mother and not even a year later her baby sister was diagnosed with cancer. She has been the rock of our family for many years. She takes care of others and she never complains, the struggle is hard and the fight is real. While caring for her baby sister a couple of days ago she had 4 pipes that busted in her house. Everything in her house is in shambles and she has basically lost everything. Although she has my brother and I, she still feels as if she is homeless. I am crying out for help so that we can ease some of her pain and save her house. We all go through hard ships and I understand that nobody has any extra money, but if you could just spare any change, dollars, or a kind word, I will be forever grateful. I would love to see this beautiful woman who I call my mother smile again. With your help maybe this dream of mine will come true for her. Thank you in advance!!!

  34. I am so excited to submit my application for my mother! After all the tragedy that has happened in her life, she is still the most positive and loving person you will ever meet. She bought her house 10 years ago, with the anticipation of fixing it up and making it her "retirement home", but with all of the shortcomings that have struck my family with in the past 10 years, she has not even had time to be in her home very much, let alone pay for repairs. She would like to retire soon, but does not have the money to do so and just needs a break.
This will get her ahead. I would love this great thing to happen to her, as she has helped so many people in her life.
    Thanks for the consideration!
    Carrie

  36. We live in a three bedroom trailer with 11 people currently staying with in the home. Two of the children that are living in the home were placed here under dcf due to the parents being seen unfit. 2 years ago their mother was getting her life together and working on getting them back when she was sadly taken away from them due to a car accident. so my mom bought this place that way if anything was to happen she knew that the kids could always have a place of their own. my mom is always helping people or animals. always giving the shirt off her back to help people and always letting people stay with her. She has a heart of gold. She is currently helping raise 7 children along with the stray animals she has gathered through out the past few months. she is always looking for something bigger but is always to far out of range.

  38. Hello my name is Arlene i'm a 32 year old single mom of three wonderful and beautiful children Izia will be sixteen om march 13th 2015 Katelynn is 12 and Sarah is 11. I have been the victim of domestic violence for almost ten years now. When I left my husband that i have been with since i was 11 almost a year ago we ended up in a homeless shelter in pueblo co where i met a family who was also in my position. When they got a home they invited me to rent from them the mother in law house in back cheep to help me get on my feet. I got my taxes back and paid six months up front to make sure my children and i were safe for that long while i saved up to pay some prior un paid electric bills that had to be paid off before i could get a place of my own. Unfortunately some one turned me in to social services because it wasn't the ideal place for us they took my children and placed them in foster care stating it was due to homelessness instead of helping me. Then to make things worse the family who said they were helping me moved out from under me taking almost everything we owned. I felt like giving up because I ended up in a tent and had nothing. Thank god my mom got custody of my girls but my son ended up in DYC. This is when I called a lady Dona smith whom is the mom of some kids i grew up across the street from in Nederland co. I told her i was at my wits end and had been living in a tent and felt like giving up. She told me to come home despite her two grown sons who lived with her saying no. When i got here i was asked to leave but Dona told them i had no where to go so they agreed to one month. It has now been one month and i barley got a job now for a few weeks. I only have a hundred dollars saved up and it is not enough to get a place. Dona understands but her sons are not as understanding which makes for a very uncomfortable living situation. My son came up for parole last week ago the only place for him to go was to his fathers but Dona wouldn't stand for it and despite her sons she got the parole officer to understand the abusive fathers place was not ideal for my son if they wanted him to succeed. They said it was impossible to change the parole address in one week, but Dona and i wouldn't take no for an answer and got it approved. My son is now with me!!! Dona is my saving angle!! But her home is not the ideal place as she has a mold problem and the plumbing has not worked for a week now. I want more than anything to help her as much as she has helped me by begging you to read and understand mine and her situation. She wants to try to get my girls here also but its not safe enough and im afraid wont pass social services inspection. I can only prey you read and understand my heart felt cry for help for not only Dona's need for a new and improved home, but for me and my children to never be homeless and separated again. I know the chances are slim but i have to try as Donna is willing to offer her land to help we can all be happy safe and together again. I prey this letter touches your hearts and to hear from you soon. Sincerely, Arlene Marie Lewis

  39. Hello my name is courtney groover.I am 23 and just had a little boy.I also have a 4 year old little girl.I lost a little girl to SIDS two years ago which cause me to move back home with my parents.the house that we all live in needs a lot of work on it our pipes freeze every year.our electric box caught fire so is very touchy now cause we have to have all the wiring fixed in the whole house in the up stairs we only have one outlet in each room so everything is running on cords that over power the breakers which can cause a fire.some of the rooms don't have heat that goes to them cause heat ducks were never put in.it is a lot of work and my dad has cancer and is sick the doctors gave him 6 months and it is just really stressful on him not knowing if he passes what is going to happen with his family because of this house being in the shape it is in my mom cares for my 80year old grandmother that has dementia so she can't work because my grandma needs 24 hour care this make over how take a weight off my dad and he can rest easy with the time he has left.the house is the home my father grew up in as a kid and he really wants to keep it in the family but in this shape there is no way.with his health he just can't keep up with everything wrong with the house please help my family and my dads dreams be full before his health gets worse. 40. Hi!
I love your show, how inspiring & live changing you all are. I hope to be in a position to "give-back" one day, but at the moment we are in a time of need. My husband and I have been married for 6 years and we have 3 beautiful & lively boys 🙂 Gabriel is 4, Caleb is 3, and Asher is 5 months.
My husband had severe back pain for months and after many chiropractic appointments it did not get better….. He went in for an MRI & CAT scan & we discovered that he's been attacked with Stage 4 cancer…. Multiple tumors & lesions throughout his brain, spine, lung, and other areas. Aaron was the SOLE PROVIDER of our family. We do not want to be homeless, our home in Oklahoma does need quite a bit of TLC TOO. It would be such a blessing if you could help make our situation better by fixing some repairs needed!!! Thank you for your consideration!!!

  41. I am writing this for a dear friend of mine whose family experienced a home fire 2 days ago. My friend, Melissa, and her husband, Phillip, work for the postal service and have adult children living at home. One of the saddest parts of this disaster is that there is no insurance to cover their loss. They are part-time musicians and lost most of their equipment and precious heirloom instruments. Their home is located in Summertown, TN and you can view the devastation on youcaring.com/emergency-fundraiser/help-the-staff-family-rebuild/314297. The report I received was that between the fire damage and water damage, there was nothing salvageable. Can your group help them?

  42. Hello Ty and the rest of the cast,my name is Christine Roberts and I live in McAlester,Ok. my health is not that great and I have had so many surgerys and still am in need for so many more and just recently they found something on my brain but don't really know what it is, they r sending me to a neurologist but she said this might take 6 months before I can even get in, I do have so many medical problems for someone my age and don't know why. They think when I had my daughter in 2008 that it triggered something in my body. I have her who is 7 yrs old now and my son who is 27 yrs old plus 2 grand sons and 1 grand daughter who will be here any day now. I am loosing my sight also and that scares me. I can go on and on about everything that I have done to help and care for people but I tire out easy or get bad pains in my head trying to do this app. I bought a home so if I was to die my daughter would have a home to stay in but the man who sold it to me lied about the wiring, roof, flooring and etc. see I have a script from my daughters doctor that the home needs to have central h/a leveled floors and free of all the black mold cause she also has bad breathing problems and other things wrong with her, we go to so many doctors. Anyway the money I was gonna use for the unit I had to have the home rewired and my boyfriend has patched the roof in spots to keep it from leaking, last year in February my home burned and the people who worked on it did the best they could cause the house is literally falling and I can't get any help with my home. Just recently my son and his whole family and my grandma also had to move in with me, my house is a 2bdrm 1bth , I have filled out sweepstakes tried playing the lottery and put it all on Twitter just to try and get a home or win one. I am in desperate need of help and hope u will give me the chance and put a smile back on my daughters face. This is truly my last hope.

  43. I am writing in hopes that a co-worker and her family might receive some help. Michelle was the librarian at my elementary school until last year when she moved to a different school within the county. Her husband is a restaurant manager locally. Recently, their 3 year old son had a tragic accident at home which has left him with severe brain damage. Evan will be released from a rehabilitation facility in March, but the family's three story town home is not conducive to Evan's new medical needs, as he is confined to a wheelchair. I am hoping that you may be able to help this deserving family to find comfort at home as they adjust to their new normal and continue to help Evan heal. Thank you in advance for taking the time to consider helping the Jacobson family.

  44. I am a recent widow with 8 children. My husband James died in October after 23 1/2 years of marriage. We married when I was a teenager and rode out all the storms of life together. We have been living in our house for 22 years and have put down $ and signed papers to "rent to own". James was a carpenter and was going to fix everything here and did lots of work, but died in October from pneumonia. He was able to fix most of the roof but never got it finished and it leaks badly. We have a piece of plastic that empties into a basin on our back porch and everything is moldy because of it. The porch is falling in…our furnaces are ancient…our windows are drafty, our floors are rotten… We are active in our community and have a community garden up the street to involve the neighbors in learning how to grow food for themselves. I have recently signed up to start a 4H club here since there aren't any around here. Thank you for considering us!

  47. Hi my name is Raiyona. I am 15 years old. I live with my mom and brother(20 years old, in college). I seen my mom struggle for years. Right now we been living in the same house for 11 years. We rent this house. On my birthday in 2012 I believe my grandfather(87) had a head surgery or something. This prevented him and my grandmother(84) to go back home to Pennsylvania. They have been switching back and forth between my moms and aunt house. Are house isn't big enough for them to stay. I have to give up my room if they come over. My mom also sleeps in the basement sometimes for I can keep my room and her parents can have hers. Also my its hard for my grandfather to move around in these little spaces. Also its hard for him to bathe. I know my mom cant do this alone. I also know about her loosing this house because she struggling to pay the rent because her job doesn't may enough. My mom doesn't know I'm doing this but I know if we get the chance she'll love it. Yes I know our story isn't as sad as others but we really need the help. Because between college tuition, medical bills, other bills its hard. I wish I could get a job and help her but I'm just to young. Please help us!

  48. "The Money Pit" We acquired this home about 7 years ago in the hopes that I could finish my masters degree as a nurse and move my parents closer to the grandkids. My husband and I along with my parents purchased a home together. The house was built from putting parts from two barns together, it was beautiful and spacious; hardwood floors, wood beams. We realized soon after that there were major issues. The basement would flood and build up mildew, the ventilation system in the house was not the correct size so it runs the power bill up to $1,000/month in the winter to heat it, the chimneys would cost $6,000 to repair, one side of the house the foundation is crumbling because the slope of the yard runs the water straight to it, open electrical boxes covered by wallpaper or insulation, the water pipes to the upstairs are in the outside walls of the house which causes them to freeze in the winter, my parents side of the house has old or no insulation leaving it very drafty and cold, the list goes on and on. The housing market has made it so our mortgage is underwater. About 2 years ago both of my parents lost their jobs of 20+ years and can't find another. I work two jobs; one at night and another in the morning to keep things running; I also have rheumatoid arthritis which doesn't help things. I want this house to be a paradise of history and charm, a place to make memories, a place for my parents to retire in comfort.

  49. My name is Terri and I am on the board for a non profit organization called BOYS Association of Lackawanna. Our organization is for kids to play baseball and softball. I am asking Extreme Makeover to help us build a better club house for the children and community. The club house consist of a concession stand, rest rooms, equipment room and garage. I am asking for the help because of the children and our community. The president of our organization is that this is for the children. The president would love to see the children play baseball or softball so they are off the streets and not inside playing video games. Our number of players have decrease over the past 5 years. I feel if we could improve our club house and get the community involved we could see more children playing, having fun, learning and be part of a team. We are not like most other non profit organizations, we accept everyone no matter their age, disability, if they can play or not or even residence. Our organization would love to see more children playing again and get our community involve and let people know who and where we are.

  50. I am writing on behalf of my mother, brother and sister. I live in North Carolina and they live in Newark Valley, NY. They all live together in an old run down farm house that needs to either be leveled or fixed up. I worry about the living conditions of the house constantly and there is really nothing I can do living so far away. What makes things worse is my brother who is 36 has a serious heart condition and needs a heart transplant. He is proud and refuses to go on disability and continues to work. So when he is home he doesn't/can't do the renovations needed. Our mother has had full of struggles, lost my father to cancer in 1991 and raised 6 kids alone, we were ages 13-3 at the time of his death. My mother has to live with my brother because of his health and can't be left alone in case his defibrillator goes off. Our youngest sister also lives in the house along with her 8 yr old son. She helps financially. They all are very community oriented and love to help others. They do not know I am contacting you and I would love to make it a suprise. My brothers wife left him because of his health and took his 4 kids with her. That alone almost killed him. I could go on about their daily struggles but I won't. I know that they and the rest of us kids would appreciate any help that you can offer.

  53. Hello, we're a family of 7 and our beautiful 7,300 sq ft dream home burnt to the ground in January of this year. We lost everything but thank God everyone got out safe. We lived in a hotel for the first month and now we are living in a 42' camper next to a huge pile of ashes that once was our dream home. I'm so proud of our 5 children and how they have handled this tragedy. Not once have they complained. They have gone from having their own bedrooms and bathrooms to sharing beds with siblings and sharing one bathroom! We would be honored to have the extreme makeover team be a part of rebuilding our dream home. Thank you for the difference you've made to so many families and thank you for your time. Mike, Donna, Tyler, Alexis, Brice, Ava and Katherine. Dripping Springs Lake, Okmulgee, Ok

  54. Hi, my name is Courtney Hogg, I'm 28, and I'm requesting/nominating on behalf of my Aunt Leslie. All my life, she's kind of been a "super-hero" to me and my family. Her life has been anything but easy. She was living on her own by the age of 16 because her mother kicked her out. She worked and supported herself through all of high school, all while helping take care of her younger sister, my mother. She worked and paid her own way through 4 years of college, did missions work in Africa, worked for Tupelo Children's Mansion. When I turned 5 years old, my parents were going through a messy relationship. My Aunt became our "safe zone". My mother moved my brother and I to Wisconsin from Iowa, and it was my Aunt that provided housing and other necessities for us. For over 20 years of my 28 years of life, she has always been helping my family out. 11 years ago she was married. 10 years ago, she gave birth to her miracle baby. About 5-7 years ago, she tragically lost her husband. Form then to now, everything has been quite a rollercoaster ride for her. She was left to raise her son on her own, with not much assistance outside of my mom and our church. She had to quit her job, and making ends meet is becoming more of an every day struggle, especially with now homeschooling him. She recently graduated with her masters this past year, and is desperately trying to find the means to open up her own home based practice. As of right now though, with her housing being a wreck and her finances unable to meet that goal, it seems as if a everything is just a glorified dream. I know she would never ask for any kind of help, she's always the one to do the helping. And I know that if she would be accepted for this, it would mean everything, to her, and to all of us. She recently took me in to stay with her, I am unemployed and have no way to give back to her. That is why I am writing this. Because she is deserving of being taken care of and helped! And this is one of the best things I could help give her.

  55. My family just lost our home to a fire. My husband and I have 2 boys ( 6&4 ) and they lost everything. All their Christmas and the little ones birthday. We are currently having to stay with family that live in another town and school district. My boys are just ready to go home. The amount of driving back and forth from towns to work and get boys to school is overwhelming as is the gas. I have now wrecked my vehicle twice and really need things to start looking up for my boys sake.

  56. Hi my name is Haley Brown im and 21 I would like to nominate my father Clint Brown 42 for a home makeover. My father is a single dad and probably the best man I or anyone has ever met. He puts aside want he wants for his family and always has. We have a small house that is unfinished. The roof is leaking and the furnice goes on and off. Obviously that is not a huge deal but on top of all that we have a 4 bedroom house with one bathroom and he just took in my three younger cousins because there parents were unfit. He does everything for us! But to add on to our already crowded house this amazing man just let his ex wife move in, my mother. It was unexpected but now he's providing for her as well. My father and I are the only ones who work but he doesn't make any of us pay rent just because he wants us to be able to save up and make a life for ourselves. I think he deserves his dream house because he never asks or gets anything he wants and if I could do this for him or if someone else can I know it would make things just a little bit easier on him. Please help this single dad/uncle/ex husband, for he deserves the world!

  57. Hi my name is Derrick, I'm from Overton County, Tennessee. The community I live in is called Hardy's Chapel, great people and amazing little great, beautiful country. I'm a volunteer Firefighter, of Hardy's Chapel Volunteer Fire department. The reason why I'm asking y'all for help is our department desperately needs a lot work done and we barely get by. We have done a lot of fund raisers to get us through the years to keep our doors open. 1 year we raised enough money to get us a new Fire Tanker. But not enough for anything else The great Lord above is helping us much as he can. But we still need a lot of things. We don't have any bath rooms, our bathroom is the tree outside, our roof is leaking, we got a lot of mode in the roof that it is black as tar. Our bay walls has cracks and no insulation in the walls and a heater that barely works half of a time. Our office is in our bay where we have our trucks. And when we have our meetings we have to pull the trucks out so we can pull out the chairs and the tables. Our building is very tiny we can't do to much in it, we have been praying for a great miracle to happen since 1998 it ain't happened yet I know one day it will happen that's why we have been keeping our heads up and instead of facing the ground. Our community has been trying to help us with great things but I hate to see us close our doors down. With out our department there will not be a fire department. Please we need y'all's help. Thank you for taking your time to read my message I love what y'all do and it's the greatest miracle of a lifetime God Bless You All.

  59. my name is Jacqueline castile. i am a 40 yr old mother of three. I live in Norristown, pa and there is a very high crime rate here, this town is one of the 100 most dangerous cities in the united states. I moved here in 2001 to raise my kids in a place where mental health resources were available. both of my sons have special needs and I needed to be close to the programs. over the years my kids have grown up swimming in the carver community center pool. it also is a recreational center that offers mentoring and other services to all children o all races and creeds and religions. in the last couple years the pools funding has been cut of by the borough and that caused the pool to be closed down. they have a new chairman of the board, pastor Byron craig whom now has a daunting task before him. now the pool and community center is in need of a complete over haul. the teen on teen violence rate in this area is ridiculous. on feb12th 2013 my oldest son was murdered over a few hundred dollars .. my other son and my daughter are afraid to walk the streets and the pool has been a safe haven for all children, keeping them off the streets, keeping them cool and having fun .. playing basketball, and other recreation like sleep ins, movie nights and dances .. we are now in need of over 100k to get the pool up and running and maintaining it for the 2015 summer.. please help our community keep our children safe and cool this summer and all year long so they will not get shot, stabbed or robbed in these dangerous streets .. we feel like if we give them something constructive t do and offer mentoring, counseling and recreation, this may break the cycle of teen on teen violence within our community .. there is also a P.A.L. center that is grosly under funded and in need of a face lift .. lease help us god bless you and thank you.

  61. Hi my name is Stephanie I am writing with the hope that abc will be able to help with my grandparents home in any way possible. I would like to start off by saying that my grandparents are 2 of the best people I know and honestly most of my community would agree with me. They are the most giving people and have done what most granparents wouldnt do, they have taken me and my 3 younger siblings under their wing and cared for us when our parents could not. Their daughter(42) which is our mother has been battling with addiction for over 15 years which has affected all of us tremendously. The house that my grandparents and 3 siblings are living in now is actually a trailer with an addition and is over 45 years old. There are numerous things that are deteriorating including floors, ceilings and the sewage system. I am reaching out because I feel that the 5 of them are very deserving of a decent and functioning place to live and thrive. I see how yall change lives and I thank you so much for this opportunity. Please consider us it will be greatly appreciated.

  67. Hi my name is Lisa , recently my 10 yr old daughter was diagnosed with (all) leukemia and it's took a tool on my family , she's the youngest of my three daughters. We have been remolding our home for 2yrs now. Since our family of five has outgrown our home we made 3bredrooms down in the basement. We had to stop remolding since her health we can't remodel for 6mos when her immune system is stronge, so trying to deal with the moldy carpet in the mudroom due to the rain and snow brought in by shoes since it was a temporary, permanent thing we can't rip it out of chance to throw mold spores in the air we have to move her out of her home to finish remolding or what until the summer . We live in Michigan and the weather changes fast . Thank you all for the opportunity to take the time to hear my story . Sincerly Lisa D

  71. I have a friend who lives in a Victoria styled home in Washington, DC. She is a grandmother who has custody of 4 of her 6 grandchildren most she got when they were babies. The children's mother has a mental disorder but the children are smart and do well in school. Her house is in need of every type of repair you can name. They recently moved in with her oldest daughter because the house is not inhabitable. I'm trying to help her get back into her home.

  72. Thank you for this oppurnity, I'll start with tell you about myself. I'm 55 and a Widow, I have one son 29 yrs. old my husband was killed in Car accident, I have a wonderful man in my life and he has 2 sons, one of which has cancer for the second time and he is only 25 yrs. old.We were wiped out by a Hurricane in 2005, we were in a no flood zone so there for had no insurance. The only help we had to put our house back together was from Mininites. My mother was non ambulatory and I took care of her on a daily basis I also transported her to dialysis 3 times a week. I also cared for my brother and father, all of whom have since passed leaving me heart broken. The man in my life would give me the world if he could but has a mediocre job. It's seems that we are always helping some one else and we never have the time or money to do anything for us. We have a Beautiful home and just can't seem to get it together. We have 12 Oak Trees on the property a wrap around porch on a 2 story brick home. PLEASE make us over we need lots of TLC. Thanking you in advance, Myrty
