  1. I am writing to you about my mother in law. My husbands mother came into my life when I was 16 and started dating her son. I had never known a family like that and saw things in her that made me understand what being a mom meant. She never met a strangler and her friends are lifelong.

When I first met her she was a single parent and her house had burned. She didn't have insurance and basically had lost all her belongings. She didn't give in and through robbing Peter to pay Paul, she managed to rebuild her house. At least made it livable with the funds she could pull together.

She has helped so many people and her door is always open to anyone who needs her. She took a friend home from the hospital who had lost the ability to talk and she later had both legs amputated. My mother in law helped her get disability and establish a way to be able to live. She did it for another friend had arthritis and when the mill he worked in closed he couldn't find work. She took him in and also helped him to fight for 6 years to attain disability.

All of her children have come home at one time or another and usually with kids of their own. Her oldest grandchild moved in with her when she became pregnant at an early age. She and the baby lived with her until she was tragically killed in a car wreck right before Christmas. I think this almost killed her but somehow she keeps going. Now my mother in law is trying to raise her great grand child against the odds and to top that off, my husband and I had to move in with her along with our three children. She takes from herself to give to us and to others. She works everyday but owes more than she can pay.

We live in a very small town in SC and it is an hour commute for her to go to work. She had to buy a new car because my niece was killed in her old one and she can't afford any of this. Her mortgage is behind but she never talks about it. She just makes things work. This house is over 100 and although she rebuilt in in 2000 she had to make many compromises just to keep the house. The house is always cold. A couple of the windows are broken and need to be replaced. The house has shifted and the foundation pillars are just big rocks so the walls are all cracked. It hasn't been painted in at least ten years and some of the siding has holes in it. There are great big old 100 year old treas that need to be trimmed and she has flower beds that need to be redone. She tries but there is only so much money and time to do these things! Don't misunderstand, it is clean, it is beautiful and it is home to all of us. Her dream is to fix a garage apartment so she can move there and we can live in the main house so there aren't two females together! I just thought I would take the time and a chance that maybe just one time something could be done for her. Thank you for reading this!

  2. Hello Ty!!
I no longer live in my mothers home, but I know she needs so much help!! Pls hear my story. I have a 22 year old sister who is disabled, her name is Suzi, she likes to be called Estefania, she no longer can walk so she is wheelchair bound, all together its 6 of us, 2 are not home any more, my brother is the youngest and my younger sister is 18, she is in college. Since my mom works all day sometimes my sister has to take care of her when my aunt is done with her shift. Suzi has gone through so much even as far as almost giving up, but our lord still wants her here, even though it's been hard for my mother, she does the best that she can. She has a beauty salon business, she has had for about 15 yrs, but her business is no longer what it used to be, because of the economy. Her home is beautiful but only the front of the home, the windows are so old that the rooms get so cold, in her kitchen the only thing that works is her stove, the oven and dish washer dont work and has a very old fridge, the sink does not work only hot water comes out, the electricity does not work. She also has a pool, but that pool has not been used for about 5 yrs. The home is not really wheelchair accessible, the bathroom is not really safe for my sister. Its only a shower and they have to carry her inside the shower, not really easy to do. My mom still has a mortgage which she has been struggling with, and to help her with that she has tenants in all rooms except the master. My brother has to sleep in the living room. There is still so much to say. Would love to help my mother, but I have my own family now and its hard for me to do, if she gets chosen, it would mean the world to me and my family.

  3. well about 4 years ago i bought my first house it use to be a home for the elderly so i thought it would be a great buy i have lupus sand it was under control but then i got worse i ended up having surgery after surgery i cant really go outside because the sun effects my illness right now me and my father that i try to take care of and my three children live here i did manage to fix my roof but i will be truthful on some parts of the house there is no ceiling the bathrooms are all messed up the wiring is awful and i am not well enough i haven't been able to hang up my kids pictures on the walls i know that there are a lot of people who need this but you would be helping me and my community you see there is a lot of racial decimation here and my kids are half Mexican and because they look like that they have a hard please help me give them the house they deserve before i die thank you for your time

  4. Hello my name is amanda coming to you from peoria il. However I am going to tell you of a woman who gave her world every day to help raise my brother and I my grandma Doris. When my dad was ready to buy his home we all chose one right around the corner from my grandma because she would most likely need help soon. Unfortunately that was not the case 4 years later my father suffered massive strokes on both sides of his brain leaving him unable to use most of his body walk eat speak. I am very glad to say with years of dedication from the whole family his sisters and mother doris they never left his side. he has full speech and uses it he has quite the humor and mobility still unable to walk simply limited by resources of building his muscles to hold himself again. If you ask him he can walk. 3 years ago my grandma also became ill through alot of time and her strength she made it homeDoris and Tim's sisters never left his side each day fighting for him to get better to re teach him everything. Doris's daughters where there everyday fighting for her health and being her streghth to get her back home as well. The men of the family build ramps and are the muscles.Current situation is my grandma and dad are in my dads home. My dads home being on the second floor in the living room, and my grandma having the biggest offered bedroom. Everynight someone in the family stays the night there to care for them as they need. In the start teaching my dad how to do everyday basic skills teaching him to write and speak. Now I feel he is only limited by his resources, his sisters try so hard with such limitations surrounding them. Patti uses her strength to lift tim into the bath tub seat her husband built to fit in the bathroom. The sisters and daughters to tim and doris can conquer all. My uncle is around the corner living in the basement as this has been since I was around 10, he stay the night and is also frequently called down when power goes out because my dad is on a air bed. Both homes have a tight narrow floor plans their wheelchairs squeeze through. It would be the best dream to have a place for them to move around to live. For my dad Tim and grandma doris to build on the strengths. So my dad can help cook and my grandma can go outside and read a book as she always did. I feel like their second chances could be much brighter, but where do we go from here. This year our goal is to get my dad into his hot tub he worked so hard to build a deck and get it and got limited time to enjoy it, that is our families 2015 mission. Thank you for your time the troyer family. P.s. ee are very very close to the damage of the november tornadoe in Washington. If you dont pick this family please pick someone from central Illinois whos homes were taken that day. Thank you again for all you do for so many!!

  5. My name is Pennie and I am writing this on behalf of my daughter and her family. As of now their family of FIVE are living in a small camper on some land that they own. There is an old house that should probably be demolished but because of financial situations they are forced to "fix" it up and live there. This house has black mold which they have tried to eliminate, missing windows, holes in the ceiling and outer walls. It scares me to death to think my grandchildren will be living in these conditions. My grandson suffers from Asthma and I worry about him having more serious complications. My daughters fiancé was working an out of state job which with the economy failing he lost his job..they lost their car, home, appliances because he was laid off and not able to find work. Their only option was to move onto the property and try and find a way to start rebuilding this old home. My daughter is one of the strongest young ladies I have ever known and she selflessly gives and helps others even when her own circumstances are at their worst! My grandson was basically bullied out of the small town they used to live in because of his race. Eight year old boys should never have to deal with that. It got to the point we feared for his life. They have had one disaster after another to fight and I thought maybe this show could help find a way to bring some joy to this family. It breaks my heart to see my family having to go through the things they are. Unemployment hasn't kicked in and life looks pretty bleak right now! My daughter has spread herself thin between taking care of her family and her blind cousin and her children! I would just like to see her not have to keep struggling and hiding her pain from those of us that know how much she is hurting! My husband and I are not financially able to help..we have spent as much time and money as we can to help them try and make this place livable. It looks like it may be a long process. Please consider this young family! God bless!

  6. I'm 16 years old and I live in Wrens,Ga along with my mother & sister . My dad was going to build on to the house to make more room for the daily but unfortunately , he passed away on the day of January 1,2012 , nothing has been the same every since. My mom as asthma and she doesn't have enough room for the tank to get around in the house , I really hate to see her like that . As you guys already know , it's really cold now and the house has a lot of holes in and around it so we don't get much heat inside of the house . My sister and I had to share a room and I've NEVER had a room by myself out of all 16 years of my life .. I've dreamed of having a purple room full of France,Paris stuff . I really love paris , wish I could go one day but my mom doesn't have a job and the check she gets goes towards bills

  7. Good evening,
I am a teacher who has moved with my family from different areas. I never invested in a home. Most of my life I have been the bread winner of my family. I currently live with my children who are attending school, nearby. I also live with my grand baby. I started having asthma about 7 years ago. The house we live in gets molded frequently. Through the years I cleaned the mold. I started getting sick from cleaning the substance. My daughter and son are beginning to show symptoms of asthma. We rent our house. I have been a teacher since 1983 and could not afford a home. We live currently more than 63 miles from the nearest towns. My husband works for 63 hours a week. He travels about 72 miles one way to work. I always wanted to apply to "Extreme Home Makeover." If I could build my own home I would. And since I have talent in teaching that is what I do best. I have taught fifth grade children to kindergarten for the past 31 years. I would like to live in a home which has no mold. Thank you for the interest in reading my letter. We are natives from New Mexico. God Bless You!

  8. Hi, I am writing for my Mom and Step Dad whom i currently live with. They are exceptional people who have taken in everyone at one point or another without any questions. They bought a house about ten years ago and began remideling it and in that process my Dad who was a very hard worker became disabled and my Mom who also has medical problems, were not able to finish the house. I have disabling medical problems as well and try my best to help out around the house by cleaning and cooking as well as taking care of my 1 1/2 year old boy. It seemed that my Dad had lost all hope in life cause he coukdnt care for.his family anymore like he had always done and he felt like he let my Mom down cause he could not finish the house, that was until my son was born and a new light shown through my Dad that we had never seen before. He is so happy now and wants to do so much around here for my son's safety and to make room for everyone but the truth is he is not able to, he is just getting worse off and i am afraid that because of it his years with my son, who is very attached to his grandpa, is going to be very limited. My Mom, God bless her has stayed positive through it all and has managed to keep everything afloat and not lose the house. I know that it would touch their hearts so much if their house could get finished and maybe have some add ons to make more room for when they open their home up to family who needs a place to stay! Please help them, they cannot help themselves anymore and have never asked for help or a handout! If they were not on a fixed income they would pay someone to do the work, but they just cannot do it anymore, and i myself cannot help them cause i am disabled and have not been approved yet for disability, so from the bottom of my heart please help my helpless family, thank you!

  9. At some moment everyone has a wish, like a dream house, one that would make the family come together, on September 6, 2014 we had finally sold our small condo in the city of Anaheim and after years and years of looking for the right house there was a hint of luck that a house ment for us is in Brea, With every bit of the house loan and the money saved up from working everday from 4am to 5pm having the house of my dream would come true. Accepting the right Contractors and trusting them with your home is a commitment we as a famliy made, with every penny left in hand was given to them to make a home that we wanted. As this moment typing this to you, I am sitting on a wide blue chair in the hospital beside me my mom curl-led up crying in tears as she is starring at his husband my dad lying on the hospital bed. My dad was perfectly fine until September 6, 2014 to now, the contractors yelled at him, made him so stressed that he got admitted to the hospital, I have proof of videos and many witnesses. I am not a professional contractor but as there daughter I stayed in there dream house morning to night and started watching them construction start, as simple as removing stuff and destroying stuff I watched and learned and throughout that I started to take many pictures. As days and months go on the contractors agreed on contract that the house would be fully completed 30 days after they receive the first city permit which they received. Throughout all this my dad thought we would only be without a house for two months has she said, from september to november so he decided to pay for hotels that he can afford, as the days went by I realized conversations and anger and arguments from the workers to the contractors to neighbors to witnesses to my parents, it almost seems I was the quiet eye of the house, everyone comes and goes and i observed everything, which led me to find out through that; that they are hiding information from my parents, recorded conversations, pictures, were my only options to prove to my parents that I was telling them the truth,at first no one would believe me or even if they did believe me the contractors would trick them in to beliving whatever they wanted them to believe, so that made me realize that I have to document everything more and more, and so I did, On the day before the holidays come around on a friday me and my parents beged the city to come see the house, that day was the day everyone belived me, the Contractors scammed us, while the incepector came to the house to see everything my mom showed him, the neihbor too came to help my mom to explain to the inceptor as he has been witnessing everything since the beginning, I was walking along in the house has when suddenly I look to my right and I see the contractor approaching my mom and yelling at her at the front door of our house, does your husband have insurance does your husband have insurance, as he repeated that and my mom replied in stress yes, the contractor asked her what hospital is he at my mom replied and the contractor said I am going to see him which hospital is he at, before my mom replied I was by her side and told me mom in a calm tone whisper mom don't saying anything, she continued to cry and that's when the contractor approached me with rage and yelled at me accusing me that I am the cause of all this, I am the cause of all this mess, it is all your fault, go get a job, and so on and so on he started to accuse me and yell at me when the inspector came and stood right in front of me and said to the contractor do not yell at the owners like that get out of hear I am the inspector you have no right to talk to them like that get out of hear now, when the contractor said that no I am the contractor you can't throw me out , when finally the contractor realized that he was doing all this in front of the inspector my mom and the neighbor and me he ran out the door and left, with the inspector shaken up he told me mom job is stopped, my mom in tears and no whee to go, I looked at my camera and know I had one thing that no one else has proof, as much as my mom took pictures too we both noticed we have the one thing that is the truth of all this recordings, pictures, and videos. There is so much of it. As i continue to type it is almost 10 pm on a sunday night, cold with no home to go too and today is that last day we stayed in the hotel, RIght now I have no choice but to sleep on the tiles of the home in the unsafe home with my mom or to stay in the hospital room for tonight, we don't know yet as I look at my dad right now he is asleep and I don't know what to do, I see he is so overwhelmed they continue to moitor his heart on this floor, hoping that he will be healthy and happy soon, please, praying everyday. Throughout all this I am trying to help them both and help my self, I cry alot, but that is just a way to show that I will not give up, I am bringing contractors to see the house and just tell us how bad is this house now, and the answer is, The house is seeming like what opinion Contractors are saying is your house is cracking and there is no support and the house is falling down and there codes of the entire house is broken and ruined, no contractor wants to touch the house now, that's how bad it is. With no more money left we need only a miracle please a huge hope of luck to help us please this new years I would be without a home with no where to stay and a cold hospital room where I watch my dad cry so quietly so no one realizes and with my mom wanting to help but doesn't know how, and me, well I am sitting hear still not knowing what to do. Plus something new the contractor is using fake contracts with my dads signature

  10. My In-laws are wonderful people, who live on SSI because they care for their two children who live with them. Both girls have a very rare form of muscular dystrophy. They have been wheelchair bound since they were 12, and now they are 25 and 26 years old. (The form is so rare, life expectancy is unnown, and originally thought not to be past 20 years). Their parents have to lift them to get in and out of the chairs, whether it is to use the restroom, or to get into bed. One daughter has gotten to where she has to sleep in her power chair. They have jumped through hoops to get necessary equipment to help with lifting, however they have met many roadblocks and have not been able to get the equipment needed yet. The floors of their house are starting to sag from the weight of the girls and the powerchairs. The have the money to scrape by and pay bills but do not have enough left to save to fix the house etc. Their well pump is in poor condition and they have to take showers on different days, one person a day, and have to wash clothes, one load per day that no one takes showers. The girls spend their spare time doing fundraisers for young children who have MDA and received an award for raising the most money at the MDA walk in 2012. The girls are unable to do very much as they cannot get out of their chairs. They would give the shirt off their backs for anyone else. This help would mean the world to them. Again the parents cant work, because they have to take care of the girls. Often times their dad has run to the gas station, and their mother was in the shower. One of the girls fell sideways in her chair and had to stay there until someone came and picked her back up. They are barely able to feed themselves. An assisted living or nursing home for the girls is not an option to my in-laws who spend as much time as they can ensuring the girls are enjoying as much as a normal life as they can.

  11. Hi! I'm very intrigued by this show and wondering if they would like to assist in restoring a skilled nursing home where a makeover would truly benefit! I love my residents more than anything and would love to see them have spa rooms, a updated dining room and new patio that families could spend time out there with them.

  12. I married my high school sweet heart in 1979 while still a senior in high school we had 3 sons and have been blessed with 10 grandchildren we have live in a very small house that doesn't have enough room to even have a family get together. We have struggled as most people do but we would love to have a family room. During our marriage we have had many family and friends live with us and love to be able to help others in need but it would be nice to enjoy all the family and friends in one place now that we are getting older

  14. This is it: No long story…just our situation. We raised our daughters in a large manufactured home…we moved off to Idaho after they left, then my husband in his 50's got aggressive prostate cancer..he had surgery, then I had to have a plate and screws put in my neck with cervical fusion surgery. We moved back to Virginia and amazingly got to buy our house and acerage back, but the owner smoked up our home, to which I am highly allergic to and we cannot afford to replace the carpet with the wood laminate and paint the walls before we move back in. Physically and financially we can't do this. We have never seen you do an edition for a manufactured home before, can you please help us do these two things to our wonderful home?

  18. I am a minister in Pomona and I'm contacting you on my own thoughts and heart. My Pastor has been so sacrificial in giving of himself through ministering the word of God, serving the community, the city of Pomona serving the church and his family effortlessly without thought of himself. I am asking if would consider redoing our church office, recovering our pews, giving us new carpet, updating our kitchen, bathrooms and fellowship hall as it is needed and OUR APOSTLE deserves it. There is so much more to say. Please consider contacting me regarding this need and blessing. Thank you and God bless.

  19. Hi, my name is Mara. I am a sibling of 8. I have a beautiful mom who is currently a signal parent.when I grew up, I didn't have what many kids got. My mother was heart broken when she couldn't of ford the things me and my brother wanted at that age. When I was 4 my mother divorced my biological father. We moved to Georgia and moved next to my moms close friends. There was this local church that remodeled the house because of the conditions. 2years later my great grandfather passed away in NY and my grandmother couldn't handle herself because she went into a depression and was a lone. My mother at the time met a guy named Chris. She made her very happy and he became my father figure. They both moved us kids up to NY to live with my grandmother. We had money problems there so my dad got a job in SC, so we moved there. My mom and dad see oersted a year later. So my mom moved us back to NY. They got together nearly 1 year later (may I remind you he had a child with her). Look, I can tell you the rest of it, but I really just want to get to the point. Due to so many family money problems, my family had to separate. My mother went to Florida to find a job while me and my siblings moved into my grandmas. My grandmas house conditions are not good. we have black mold, most of the electricity doesnt work and we have no water. My oldest brother laz has to walk down to the creek and get the freezing cold water for Baths and ect. it gose to -20 degrees to 35 degrees here in NY. I'm 15 years old and I've been struggling my whole life. I've never had a day where it's stress free. My grandma is struggling to provide for all 8 of us plus my cousin and grandfather. Getting this house fix, would be the most incredible thing that has ever happened to us. We would love your help.We need you.

  20. Hie i would like to ask if you do make overs for people in Africa..My mother is a single mother and she started building her house 4yearz ago she is still struggling to finish her house..Please if you can help. also in Africa we would be grateful..

  21. Hi. I would like to ask you to help me and my family with giving our small home a make-over. I live with my 89 year old grandma, brother, cousin and mother. I can see that my mother tries her best to make our house a home but every time she finally has enough money to fix one thing another one breaks. Almost all her money she earns has to go to fixing the house and looking after my grandma. I would be so happy if you could just please help lighten her burden. I do not ask for much, I only ask you to help fix our house and make it a home please. We live in South Africa. Thank you

  22. Hello!
I'm writing to you for my mother. she is 53 years old paralyzed from her waist on down, she has health problems. she always getting sick and most of all the antibiotic are starting not to work for her anymore she would have to get I.V treatment. she got really sick almost 6 years ago now and needed to leave her house out in the reservation for treatment in the city in Phoenix, Az.. We had to temporary live with my father and still are since her house in really unliveable anymore. At the time we left it the roofing was getting no good started leaking a fell in in our living room and kitchen. Now it got even worst! she tried some many times to get help from our tribe to fix it for her but they wont help her and still wont till this day. They just keep telling her the same thing about them already build her that house and that she cant get a new one or remodeled it for her cause of no funding but now they are building new houses for some people and helping others that may had help already too. I think that's not fair! She was told to put in an application and did but still nothing. So she just stop going to them! I wish i can try doing it my self getting what i can but its a lot of things that need to be done now and i dont have the money since i dont work only for her 3 hours and just stay home the rest to help her. I think it needs to be tore down and rebuild.. My mother stresses so much about her health and what could happen to her. Stresses about where her kids and grand kids will live. her house is on her land and wanted that house for us all, because she getting old and health is bad plus it gets hard living out here moving house to house or an apartment with a big family and not much in come. She loves where her house is because that was her fathers land where his house also was and where she grew up at. she always feels so sad because she cant go back and live in it. Even tho the roofing fell in almost ever where now and the restroom someone broke in and destroyed, and walls are broken and much more. she is still thinking of finally going back and living in it this summer when it gets warmer for her. like you guys say home is where the heart is! That's where her heart is and wants to live and grow older there with her family in her house! This would be a dream come true for her if you were to make this happen. the one thing she ever wanted, it would mean so much to her! Please help my mother with her house.

    Thank you!

  24. Hello there Extreme Home makeover family, My name is Jennifer and I have a friend who has helped me for the last 2 years when I became homeless to stay in her back house until I get on my feet again. She is almost 72 years old and at 21 years old bought her home and has been another Mother to a lot of us kids who grew up with her four children. She had to work (waitressing) during her children growing up. And then she raised 4 Grandchildren with help from her fourth husband. They are now divorced. She is a wonderful and beautiful Lady who has a great big heart and has always gave all of kids in the area good advise. Most of them still keep in touch with her. She is still friends with 3 of her ex husbands. (one of whom has passed but during his bypass she took care of him. How's that for a big heart. During the time of raising 4 grandkids she had taken out a second to fix up her home and had gotten so far but raising the kids had to come first and some didn't get finished. She is on a fixed income now and her son works 12 hours a day and six days a week to meet the mortgage in turn she takes care of his 12 year old. She thanks God every day for another beautiful day and stays on the bright side always and no one deserves a home makeover more than this little Lady does. I Love her so much and am thankful to have a friend like her so please consider her for this because she had such a big heart and a great sense of humor and some things are just falling apart and yes we live on Dork Street. Thank you for your time and attention, Sincerely Jennifer

  25. My name is Dana Edwards and our family is in need of a makeover. Our youngest son Tanner has Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy he is 10. We have 6 awesome kids 2 in college 1 in HS and 2 in grade school. Tanner goes to the school up the street because it's accessible for him. Our home needs to be made accessible for Tanner. We live in a modest ranch 1800 sq ft and my husband is a local plumber. We have lived here for 18 yrs. We have the greatest neighbors and a fabulous community. I want a home for my son to be a part of all our family activity, not stuck in 2 rooms. It breaks my heart that we can't do what we need for our son ourselves. We need everything from soup to nuts for him. There are so many people that are in in need of help and my heart breaks for all of us but if we had this miracle happen for Tanner it could also help the rest of the families in the Duchenne world figure out what things would help their children. Duchenne is a cruel disease it like a Lou Gehrig's in a child. If dreams do come true this would be one of the greatest. Thank you

  26. Jessica and David Bucky Brooks .
David was cleared of murderror charges. He was in jail for 2 years.FFor something he did not do. This family needs a home. Money to pay bills for their 4 year old who has heart problems. He also needs a job. You can see the news on WDRB. They used to live in Bullitt County Ky. NOW LIVE Nelson County Kentucky. It would be awesome if they could start new, fresh and clean.

  27. I am a 56 year old woman who is ill. My boyfriend who lives with me is also ill. I try to do a lot of things to make my house look better, but I wear out easily. When I bought the house, as part of the loan requirement, I had to have a contractor to upgrade my house. It was built in 1935. They did very little and ruined a lot of things. We had to redo a lot of the work they did. There was a one car garage size heavily tarped building. It was waterproof. We had put all our building supplies in that building along with personal stuff. Somehow, the contractor dismantled part of that building. We had two freak snow storms after that. Every bit of our stuff was ruined. Crown molding, baseboard, insulation, etc.I can't even get the stuff removed. It's that fixed income thing. There are random boards in random areas that I can't do much about. I need help. I wouldn't be asking for help if I were'nt ill. I want so much to do all the work myself. I just can't do it anymore. I'm in and out of the hospital way more than I like. I only have my small bowel and I get obstructions which lead to surgery every time. I need help if you are ofering. Thank you, Cheryl Tyler

  28. Hello, Good day.

I am requesting to see if my Mother can qualify for a home make over. She's a 1st grade teacher and a Foster Mom. She has Sheltered and changed the lives of so many young children. Her home isn't in bad shape but she deserves a new home like no other. She raised 4 kids of her own and I as the youngest daughter of the family feels as though she deserves it. More rooms for the Foster children and A nice cozy room for her. She's not living check to check but sometimes i feel she deserves a better home. If I was established enough I would buy her a new home. please consider her.

    God Bless,
    The Key Family.

  30. Hello my name is Dyana Reagan but everyone calls me Shelley. I am writing to you on behalf of my mother-in-law. She took me in when I had no where else to go. She helped me anytime I needed help. In the seven almost eight years I have lived with her she has always been there no matter what. She owns her own tax company and works our of her home. She doesn't make thousands just enough to pay her bills and maybe a little left over from time to time. However her house (trailer) is falling apart. The roof is cracking. The carpet needs to be gone and she really needs a real office she can do her work in however the money is just not there to help get these things taken care of. My husband and I have been in a bad way for the last three months since I lost my job and he is commission base only. So we help her by running her erons so she can stay home and work. Her favorite thing to do in the summer time is to go swimming but the pool we had collapsed last year so now she cent even take a break from work. She works year round and has not had a true vacation in over 15 years. I will send you a video of the house and family as soon as I can please remember this dear sweet women will do anything she can to help anyone in need.

  31. Hello Ty. My name is Anita and I am writing this post on behalf of my parents. My parents are both 75 years old and are in failing health. They have been married for over 50 years. My father has congestive heart failure and is in the progressive stages of dementia as well. My mother had a stroke, is diabetic, and has respiratory diseases also. Our family home is seriously run down. A tree fell on the roof of the house in 2014 and water was coming into the house. The front porch of the house has black mold and the flooring has gaping holes. We don't have the money to fix all of the repairs that need to be done to the house. If you could just come and look at the house, then you would see that no elderly person should live like this in the last days of their lives. Please help me to help my parents live out the last days of their lives in a comfortable setting. They have spent all of their lives struggling. I just want them to have a small piece of comfort at least once in their lives.

  32. I Love your show watched it all the time and I thought I would write and tell you my situation why I want to see if you will help me and my husband so hear I go. My name is April Lancaster and my husband is rocky Lancaster and we have been through allot together and it has been real tough back in 2008 I lost my mom to cancer and all she wanted for me is too have a nice home and so I had a nice home for my kids could come home too and family can come over and spend lots of time together and because of the house I live in now no one will come here so don't get to see family which is sad and another thing that was bad after my mom died about a year later or so my husband health started going bad and he has allot of health problems that are serious and I was told we need to find a new place to live and something with central air and nice and big because of his breathing issues sense he has COPD real bad and is on oxygen at night and uses it when needs it during the day and he is suppose to use a scooter to get around but can't in our home because the door ways are not big enough for him to get around so he has to use the counter tops and walls to get to the bathroom and all places around the house and the reason he is in a scooter is because of his disease in his back that cause his legs to give out on him and he falls and hurts him self and He is diabetic and just about 1 year ago I almost lost him 3 times when he was having his triple bypass surgery and he is not getting better. we live in a house that we did not know that it had a lot of problems and the one big one was the basement walls are about to cave in and if that happens house will go down and we found out that the guy is making us pay more than the house is worth and took advantage of two people on disability because I am also on disability but I take care of my husband and try to make sure house gets cleaned and stay clean and we both are on a limited income so can't afford to buy another place with our income and we are a family with a big heart we take in homeless people that we know or don't know and help them with food and shelter by feeding them and letting them sleep here we give up our rooms for others and we live in a small 2 bedroom house and so we need a bigger house so we can keep helping others and also so my husband can breath better and also so he can get around the house with his scooter and my husband has always wanted a country home and which I could love to give it too him but with just what we get on disability we can't do it alone and I want to be able to have enough room to help others too because right now we help others with just a roof over there head and food in there belly with what income we make on disability because of our big hearts and would love to do more than just having them laying on our floor in the living room or in one of the bedrooms on the floor or bed or air mattress and this is my situation and would love if you could help me so I can keep helping others and still have a better place for my husband and would be nice to have a place that my kids and family can come too so we can all sit and enjoy are self on holidays and any other time they want to come over and not be afraid to come here because they way I live. I am really ashamed of my housing situation but when your on a limited income you can't afford to live any other way and we really want to help homeless people with a place to live and food in the belly but also have a big porch so my husband can sit out on the deck and watch creatures like deer walk around in our back yard and also be able to have our own bedroom that we can go to just to spend some alone time also.

  36. Hi, my name is Loryn. I live in New Hampshire. I was dignosed with a extreamly rare disease when i was born. It is called Cyclic Vomiting syndrome. Due to my illness my parents have had to give up alot to pay for medical expensives. Not only that but my dad had a stroke 8 years ago. I know that was a while ago but. My parents cannot afford things they deserve because of all these hospital bills. I am 16. Most teens hate there parents. Mine are the best in the world and I love them. My mom is an Architect, designs great hospitals for mental patients and makes a big diffrence in their lives. But she cant pay to fix our house. It kills her that i still share a room with my 15 year old brother. She needs and deserves a new home. She is a wonderful women who builds mental hospitals, takes care of my with my incurable rare disease and works until 11 at night. She deserves a new home and deserves it more than anyone in the world. My house is small and dirty and not my motgers dream. Please help her with her dream, because she helps so many other people. It is her time.

  37. Our story is unique. We were young and in love needing a house quick. We were renting from my grandma. She wanted to raise our rent. We could not afford it. I had just been in a car accident. I was the passenger of a vehicle. My face hit the windshield and then the dash of the car. We hit a buss! I survived. my job fired me for taking off for surgery on my teeth. My eyes were blackened. I could barely talk. But that was my just b to talk to customers. So we rused into buying a (fixer upper) my boyfriend and his dad were supposed to fix up our house together. It's a 1950's home. Cold in the winter and hot in the summer. His dad is in bad shape now and can't help us. He had to have a pacemaker and defibrillator put in. Was diagnosed with fibromyalgia and has 4 stints in his heart. It hurts him to move. My boyfriend d.j. Works hard. We have been together for 8 years. He has hurt his disc in his back and was diagnosed with degenerative back disease. He has a slipped disc that needs surgery. he is also in the process of going to the dr. He has every symptom of fibromyalgia. So it's up to me to fix our house. I don't have the money or the time and knowledge to do what needs done. Our floor is sagging. Trim coming off the wall. House is remodeled but it was not remodeled right. Our whole hallway had no studs in the wall. My house had a face lift not a remodel. We can't even sell it because it will not pass a basic house inspection. Please help us with our home! We are stuck here until we are 50+ and it's falling apart faster than we can fix anything. I would love to see my boyfriends face when extreme home makeover pulls up and finishes what him and his dad planned to do before life got in the way. He says he failed me. But he didn't though it is a roof over our heads. It needs work. He thinks because he's the man he should know how to fix everything. Even if he did know his body won't let him. He's in too much physical pain to even go to the grocery store with me. So please. Help us with our house!

  38. Hello,
my names is Sylvia and I'm filling out this for my grandmother. I have been trying to figure out how to for years but could never get it. Well my grandmother has been going through a lot for the past 8 years. She's a diabetic and she had her toes on her left foot amputated and its still not healed all the way. After that so much started going wrong, the house that she lived in for almost 10 years started to fall apart. The plumbing got really bad and the people she was/is buying the home from wouldn't get much done but kept charging extreme prices and would just put it on the back of he monthly rent. She got tired of all the extra bills and she knew she would never get it paid off. She has tried every place that would help but no one will until sje pays off that house. She doesnt want to because shes not living there and they will not help her fix it. Its verey unstable for anyone to live in. She moved and has been from home to home for 5 years now, none of them suitable for her health. Then in March of 2014 she was diagnosed with Breast Cancer. She has been in and out of the hospital and cancer center, she had her left breast removed. I have really been looking for someone to help her with her home, so that it is suitable for her to live in. Please, please consider her and help her she really needs it. Thank you so much!

  41. My heart is broken as a mother. I had a perfectly healthy daughter with a bright future just two weeks ago. My daughter has always been someone to be there, do whatever so could to make sure family is okay. She is now passing out for lengthy periods of time, and most of the time does not have the function of her arms. She is currently on short-term disability at work while they try to find out what is wrong. However, as a family we know that they may never find out what is wrong, her cousin showed these same symptoms at my daughters age. She has never been able to go back to work. My daughter and her husband have been renting since they moved to Knoxville, for him to go to school. That has since changed, they were both attending school online currently because of their work schedules. She was working 50+ hours at her job to get them out of debt and start saving toward a home. However now you can tell that she can't. She can't work at ADT and be able to take phone calls or make phone calls to save lives. There is no warning as to when she can pass out.Right now because it is so cold outside she has to bundle up because being cold hurts her physically, but then being to hot will trigger the passing out. I'm a mother here asking for help, because I cannot. My kids (daughter and son-in-law) they have always found a way to make it work. Heck, that has even been their saying, " we'll make it work," is all I hear them same. I know they are trying not to freak out in fear of making my daughter worse. A home for them and their dogs that they has rescued would be wonderful. They have such big hearts, now they just need a place. They need somewhere before they can't "make it work". Consideration would be great, a home for them so they can focus on her would be great. Thanks for taking the time to read this, and a big thanks in advance if you can help.

  42. Hello. Extremely long story short, I was recently diagnosed with melanoma. I just had my second surgery. I already had an uncle pass away a few years ago from the same cancer. I am also an ovarian cancer survivor from 2008. The home that we have now we bought almost 3 years ago for a $1000. It has many issues. My husband got it for me. The reason behind buying this house knowing all of the problems with it is because back in the mid 90's we was buying it but lost it. During that time we had our second child. He never made it home. He lived 9 days in the hospital. He was born with what they called back then the vein of gaylon. I feel him in this home of ours even though he never came home. I still see his crib in the of the room. I see myself showing my husband the images from the ultra sound showing him his baby boy for the first time. We have a door that is miraculously still here with my daughter's handprints from then that was the bathroom door. It got painted over but you can still see them on the glass. My youngest son loves our home so much that when I die he gets it. Granted at the time of promising him the house, I hadn't been diagnosed with melanoma. My doctor says that this surgery that I am recovering from right now is my last one. I start treatment after I get the drain out of my leg in 4 to 6 weeks from now. Every year I have to get tests done to see if and where if any cancer came back. Melanoma is one of the deadliest skin cancer to have. There is no getting over it. Just waiting for it to pop back up. I am a rare person. If at all possible, I don't want our home demolished. If possible, I just want it fixed. If it has to be demolished, I do want the same plans as is done with one exception, a little bigger all the way around to make the design more practical. I want my son to have the design that he fell in love with. He is one of my miracle boys. After losing our son, I was told that I most likely wouldn't have any more babies. I was also prophecied to that I would have 2 more boys. Three yearslater

  43. I'm writing on behalf of a good female friend, who is very inspirational to me!! She is a single mom with two children one being severely autistic. The everyday struggles she goes through daily would be unbearable to most parents. Her home is a double wide trailer and is falling apart and a lot of it is caused by her autistic son. She works full time thanks to her finally receiving help through the county in which she resides by providing an aide whenever needed. I feel that she deserves a lot better for the past nine years she has dealt with so much and I feel like the home she is living in could definitely be improved thanks for your time and consideration

  45. I gave birth to my daughter Aubrey 11/25/2014 we brought her home to our 2 bedroom condo on thanksgiving day. About 1 week later an immunologic from the hospital called stating she tested positive for SCIDS (severe immune deficiency disorder) and needed to go back to hospital for retesting assuming it was a false positive since it is usually genetic but dosent run in either families. After those tests came back confirming she was positive we then we're referred to memorial salon ketteran in nyc since now my daughter will need a bone marrow transplant.our first visit was Dec 3rd which myself, husband and 2 1/2 yr old daughter were tested to see if we are a match. 2-3 weeks later we found out I (the mother) am a 8 out of 10 match for my daughter! Every week we are at hospital for routine bloodwork to make sure that aubreys health dosent decline, I have to keep her and my other daughter lauren couped up to avoid any illness, cough ect or aubrey will be hospitalized. They found aubreys blood then tested positive for the cmv virus which then decided on new years eve they were going to admit her that fridat to begin Iv meds to avoid any further damage, then new years day they called said her bloodwork showed the numbers for virus went down and did not need to admit for now providing the virus dosent get worse. Each attempt for bloodwork her little veins collapse, they obtained blood from the arteries in her wrists. Then 2 weeks ago the placed a central line in her chest that will remain until the transplant but will be easier to obtain blood for routine tests. So her procedure was on a Friday and to be discharged that saturday. Well procedure went well however drs decided to keep her longer to begin Iv meds for the cmv virus. We remained in hospital for 5 days her first night there she needed a blood transfusion, had a scan of her kidneys to ensure meds weren't effecting them. We are at a stand still as of now for bone marrow transplant still waiting for more bloodwork results for them to perfect the transplant so to speak. Thru all of this our girl has a small part of her immunity which threw a monkey wrench so to speak. In the meantime of all of this we still need to keep the girls and us germ free to avoid aubrey getting anything. I am still on maternity leave not sure when I will be able to go back to work. My toddler normally would go to daycare but we took her out while being on maternity leave but now have to keep her out to avoid sickness. This makeover would help us in so many ways for our family. SCIDS is only tested in newborns at birth in about only 16 states across the USA and ny is one of them. If left untreated a child may not live past the age of 1 and they generally start to be I'll by at least 6 months old if not sooner. We are blessed that there is a cure and even more blessed that I am a match!

  46. my boyfriend Dakota lost his Family in a horrible rock slide in Colorado one of his sister's made it, at the age of twenty everything went downhill he's been struggling to get his families house in good shape seen as he's been in shock over everything that's happen, he's 21 now and still figuring out what to do with everything that was left behind I think he deserves to get help in having a home because here in six months he will have a child to bring into this world. please help

  47. Our 16 year old daughter was diagnosed with AML. She will need a bone marrow transplant when she is done with her 4th round of chemo. My husband was in the army for 15 years and is now in the national guard full time.
We have an older home that part of it was built during the cival war. The insulation and the rest of the home is old. Bringing our daughter home to this would not be good for her breathing after the bone marrow. We have tried to come up with ways we could fix this problem but can not afford it.our older children have families of their own and we adopted our daughter when she was two. Our son in law this year has had two canceres and they have five children they have lived with us and his mother because he cannot work. They will be moving back in in a month, having 10 of us gets a little tight. We thank you for reading our story and for taking the time. What you do for families is so wonderful. God bless you and thank you again.

  48. My sisters unknowingly bought a meth house. We're talking breaking bad in the kitchen. The chemical levels are off the chart! And they are living there. Have been since just before Christmas. As if that's not enough the furnace was bad and missing duct work. Add the fact that my older sister and her husband don't work because she has MS and RA and he takes care of her. They found out about the meth weeks after purchase. My sisters have not had easy lives. My younger sister put herself through school and works really hard to help support the family. There are many more issues with the house and many more reasons they deserve it.

  49. Hi I'm telling you why I commented my mom has stage 3 kidney disease and heart issues. We live in Anahuac Texas, the house that we live in has no heat or central air most nights are very cold. The upstairs rooms are falling down and there is mold every where and right now we can't afford to buy another home because my dad had got layed off and is just now working as a correction officer my mom is a hard working women and all she has wished for is to have a nice home so her kids can feel safe at night. Please make her wish come true I would do anything to see my mom smile again

  50. I am writing to you on behalf of my mother and father. My father has terminal cancer and is trying very hard to make things better for my mother before he is too weak . He is not being treated because the cancer he has does not respond to chemo or radiation. It is now spreading to the lymph nodes and throughout his body. He is my hero. He is the father of 7 children and 20 grandchildren. He has been a wonderful father and and has tried to be a good example to us . He inherited his mother and fathers's home after they passed away . He helped his father build the home and has been working to do repairs and improvements but it is overwhelming . In December as a family my brothers and sisters gave them gifts with a promise of a family work day to help with repairs and cleaning to lighten the load he has BUT one of the problems that concerns me most is the mold that must be growing in the home due to a basement that has a dirt floor . My grandparents who built the home also built a country store next door to the home which is now owned by my aunt. Both the home and the store hold great sentimental value to our family. It is so painful to watch it go to waste. My father and mother do service on a regular basis for several widows in the area. They run errands for them and take them shopping and do repairs for them as needed . They truly believe in giving service to others. I feel less needful than most of the other people who have written, requesting your help , but I felt prompted to send this request

  52. I'm writing this request on behalf of my mom. She lives in the very small community of Perdido, Alabama. She has been divorced since I was six years old (I'm now 44). She did the best she could to raise four kids on her own. Most of the time with no child support. We never had a car that I can remember as a kid. We would have to ride our bikes to town, walk or get a ride from our landlord. We never had a house of our own, always renting old broken down houses or trailers. We never stayed in one house for very long. Probably due to not being able to pay the rent. I have lost track of the number of houses/trailers we lived in, in the same town. Sometimes we were homeless and had to stay with my grandmother. Our Saturday's were spent going to the area garbage dump (back in those days you could dump garbage in the woods) looking for clothes, toys, and anything we could find. My mom finally met my stepfather when I was 13 years old and they were married when I was 15. Even after the marriage we lived in trailers and older broken down homes. At the age of 18 I left home when I joined the Army. That was tough on my mom, especially with my service in Desert Shield/Desert Storm in Iraq. My mom's mother passed away when I was 19 and left my mom with her small, pieced together, aging house. But, with that house came a big responsibility. My grandmother had a mentally handicapped daughter (my mom's sister) that had to be cared for around the clock. My mom took on that responsibility. Many people take for granted being able to go places on a whim. Something as simple as going to the store required arranging someone to stay with her sister. Vacations were nearly out of the question. My mom never waivered in her care for her sister. Her sister just turned 56 and my mom has been taking care of her for 25 years now. In 2007 my stepfather was diagnosed with cancer. Together they fought the good fight until losing the battle in 2013. My mom doesn't get to go many places, but spends her time in that little, rickety place called a home caring for her sister. She is a fighter and would never complain about her condition. She has had a hard life and I couldn't think of a better reward for her than to have a nice home to spend the remaining years of her life in. Her current home isn't even handicap equipped other than a small ramp at the front porch. The eaves are rotting, paint chipping, and sewage pipe problems that occur. There is no central heating/cooling. She has a gas heater and window air units. Most of the winter she shuts off parts of the house to trap heat. She wasn't able to work much while raising us alone and thus didn't pay in enough social security to draw any benefits. Also, she wasn't married the 10 year minimum to draw off my deceased dad's benefits. No benefits coming in from my deceased stepfather either. We have exhausted all means for assistance, but she doesn't qualify for any caregiver benefits. The only means of money is the very small check received by her sister. My mom has given so much over the years putting others before herself. She's a wonderful mom, grandmother and sister. She's never had the fortune of living in something nice. It would be such a blessing to see her have a new house. Thank you for taking the time to read my submission. I hope to hear from you.

  53. Charla I am 9 years old, I am not asking for myself or one individual but for our future. See I live in Pocola Oklahoma our school is so out dated. What I mean is during the winter we most time don't always have heat and during summer very hot. We don't have anywhere for handicap children to have class. My brother is down syndrome and due to heart and health he can't attend school because of the mold from flooding. We have so many bright kids. I want to be a forensic anthropologist but our computers are so out dated in computer room. Please help us and help our futures.

  54. I have a grandmother who's in her late 60's who's been battling breast and lung cancer for about 5 years. In 2010 when she was diagnosed we were told that she only had about 6 months to live and she's still here. My grandmother is very strong and a fighter. She took care of everyone before herself. It was about 15 of us who came over every morning to walk to school together & she made sure that everyone's hair was done and everyone was dressed for school. She took care of All of us plus the younger ones who wasn't in school on a daily basis. She been in and out of remissions for the past couple of years and have recently started chemotherapy again. When she was diagnosed she left her home to stay with her daughter and since then her house has been forclosed and luckily my family got it back. But no one was able to take care of her home since then and the living conditions that she's in now is not good for someone in her condition. I feel like she deserves to be back comfortable able in her own home.

  55. I know a woman in Kalkaska, Michigan that just lost her daughter and husband. Her daughter's husband killed her daughter in front of their 4 kids. Then he left the kids to go and kill their grandfather. He would have killed their grandmother also but she was next door at a neighbors house. Now the grandmother has to raise the 4 children on her own. The house they are in is too small for all of them. Her name is Shirley Webb. She is retired from the post office. Please help.

  57. I have been very blessed over the past year to get to know a family from my small town in West Virginia. It's a town where everyone knows everyone and people are always willing to help but money is hard to come by. The name of my friends are Rob and Monica Edwards air the parents of three boys and two girls. Rob has been very ill for sometime now and was placed on a transplant list for a new liver. In November he finally got a call for a liver. Since his surgery he has had multiple problems and has had to stay in the hospital for 70 days which is located about three hours away from home. His wife Monica has never left his side which has left the oldest sons ages 21 and 19 at home to take care of the three younger children ages 8, 13 and 17. Due to all the troubles that he still haven't Edistow a discussion that this man may need another liver transplant. The home the family lives in is extremely small and needs a lot of repairs. Due to Rob sickness he isn't able to get around right now in the home and with things being so small he isn't able to function in a normal lifestyle. The family shares one bathroom that is so small that Rob is not able to get into with a wheelchair or walker. Rob has just came home from his 70 day hospital stay yesterday and he still has a long road ahead of him but the family is so happy to see the smiling faces of their children. They are going to have to return to the hospital once a week for a clinic appointment but right now does not have reliable transportation or a vehicle that Rob is able to get in and out of. This family has worked together to meet the needs of each other to make this all work to save their daddy. They are a wonderful Christian family that would do anything for anyone. The brothers play together in a band and was recently invited to Nashville to play. They are just hoping that one day they will be able to afford to take care of their parents. Not knowing what the future holds and I would just love to see this family blessed with something nice that would show them it is okay and God is in control. If you could please help this family it would be a blessing from heaven.

  58. Hello! I feel so selfish publishing my comment, and my family's morals and priorities would never consider asking for help. My grandparents and parents work hard to instill the lifestyle that God has blessed you with the life you are gifted with, and that there are always those who would give everything to have what we are blessed with. They have taught me to surround myself with people not objects. I wholeheartedly believe that and that is why I so humbly present this request. I am 15 and I love my life. I have a happy family and a nice home. Although it is unfinished it is the coziest little home and it's the house that's built me. We do not need a new home, all I would love to happen is if you could makeover my parents room for them. My daddy works hard and travels for months at a time so my brother Luke, sister Josie, and I can experience the things we do. My mommy works just as hard and we are fortunate enough to not have to worry about having a home or clothes or food on the table. My parents spend the money on what is necessary to live and on us. I would love if they could just have a new room for themselves to escape in. Our family is beyond blessed but we have gone through a major turn of events over the past couple years. We don't complain but together we are still coping. We lost my grandfather (moms dad, Tom Lloyd) in a freak semi accident and it was so hard for everyone especially my mother. She "disappeared" in mourning for just about 2 years with depression and still struggles. We also lost my great grandmother, great grandfather, my fathers cousin, and my grandmother (moms mom) who lives next door was diagnosed with lymphoma. She was just recently in remission at the end of last year but we just found out it's back. Cancer sucks and she is just a strong and faithful women that she is mentally hanging in there. She had to retire today and that broke her heart because she taught kindergarten and helped almost everyone in our community at one point by having them in class. She taught for 45 years. Meanwhile my mother had a scare with cancer herself. They thought she had a tumor in her intasuseption. God was with her through her surgery though and there was no tumor! Also the intasuseption undid itself as they were operating. My sister Josie underwent a minor oral surgery as well. As for myself I've had a ruptured disc and a growth plate in my back was ripped out with the disc when I fell in basketball. I've had it since June 2014 and just had surgery. I've been out of school since thanksgiving because it became so painful. But I'm blessed enough to finally be on the road of recovery. In summing up our events I'm just hoping it's able to see that my parents have gone through so much and they deserve a finished room. We are trying to save our money to fix up our little home specifically our lights because they dim when they aren't supposed to and our porch will flood into the one side of our basement. My daddy used to be a mason so he's capable of doing it but he's never home and he'd need some help. I'd just love if I could have their room done for them. Thank you for your time! Please help those who need you most over us first. God bless all!

  60. Honestly i dont kno where to start , my family needs a miracle. We lost our home now living in a one bedroom with our pastors that has been giving us a helping hand . I feel soo hopeless sometimes and i feel extremely bad that we are not settled down with our daughter permitted home . I had soo much much health problems since,2012 diagnosed with a brain tumor and had a surgery, with also lupus, and taking alot of medications for other my health. Now my husband not working due to an exzity attacks due too soo much going in our life's. I pray that our big break comes soon .

  61. My name is Tracy I'm 28yrs old. Well to start off I'm sure many families are in need but I'm praying my family gets picked. We have been through so much within these past 4 years. I lost my mom when I was 13 from breast cancer which after that my brother and I got adopted by her sister. Our father was never involved. At 16 had my 1st kid. Than 18 my 2nd. In 2007 lost my adopted father (uncle) to colon cancer. In 2012 lost my adopted mom (aunt) to elder sicknesses. In 2012 met my partner whom I love with all my heart. Made my life complete. In 2013 had my 3rd child for months after that found out I was pregnant with my 4th child. Which makes 7 kids due to my fiance having 3 kids of his own from a prior relationship. We got married on July 2013. I'm just praying we get chosen because my husband could really use the break, he works all week long to support a family of 9 plus his sister which makes 10. I see him struggle trying to pay all the bills, in pain from constantly working. 1 person doing it all is no way easy. I just pray to god that somebody will see this and help our family. All of our 5 older kids have been through so much as well. We currently live in a 4 BDRM house which needs a lot of work. Our 2 girls share a room, ages 9 and 10 our 3 boys share a room, ages 11, 11, 13. My husband and I plus our 2 babies share a room and his sister has her room. I feel our kids are getting older and need their space but with no money its impossible to fix our house. We dream of fixing our house to have our kids happy. I wish I could have them a gym or play area. I wish I could have girl time with my girls, I wish my husband could have his work space in our garage. I have many wishes but with no money it won't happen.
I'm not begging but asking for somebody to help us out.

  62. My mom is my super hero…i believe she is in her 60s still working hard trying to keep a roof over all her kids and grand kids. She just recovered from a knee surgery and still wants to go to work so we could be able to pay bills…the house looks huge from the outside but inside is very small considering that 3 of her adult children 2 with spouses and children live there.even though we all work it's still not enough to fix the house or get our kids their own room. It's expensive out here in San Bruno Ca. Which is why we are all living here as a family for now which is not fair for my mom who deserves a real master bedroom with a bath and all. There's a lot I want to post but I will leave u with this…there are about 15 people living here in my supermoms house which is 3 small bedrooms 1 bath and a separate room in back with one bath…my nieces don't have a room of their own so they usually would sleep outside in the carport…please help better the lives of my deserving mother and beautiful family who are going through hard times in this expensive economy.

  63. I believe in miracles and I pray this one comes true. I pray this does not soun very selfish. As of now I live on disability. My home was built in the seventies and some updates have been done but years ago. Oct. 5th I lost my 28 year old daughter, my granddaughter, 6 yrs old, and my 2 yr old grandson to a house fire. I was a zombie for a long time. My second husband who was retired became ill with cancer and it finally took his life in 2013. I was beginning to think what else? I live in Iowa where the weather is not kind most of the time. I need new windows cannot afford. I need an updated bathroom because I am afraid I will fall in the tub I have. There are a few more things but I would just appreciate whatever help I can get. Thank you and God bless for all you do even if it is not me.

  64. I would like to see about helping my step-father. I rmember when i was ten a my step-dad started building the home my sisters and i would grow up in. We sure did too we had a amazing 19 years before driving in the driveway to tradigy. August 2013 your family home burnt while he and my mom were on vaction at the beach, to a almost gone appearence leaving the family in rentals and etc. Shortly after in septer 2014 my mom filed for divorce, and moved on. My dad would really like to have a home where his four girls and one grand daughter could come and do family dinners again.

  65. My fiancé and I live with my son and his significant other. They have been living in a house, that is need of so much work…it has 3 bedrooms; one of the bedrooms has a bathroom which has major water damage. There are 2 other bathrooms, which one of those has major water damage as well. All windows, doors, and frames have leaks. Possible mold in attic, due to infestations of wild life; carcasses. Windows in basement are falling out of the house. The front entryway doors are impossible to keep closed because they are being nailed shut. Ventilation in house is collapsing. Has outdated stove, also needs central air replacement. Also columns in basement are exposed, they are apt to fall. Would also like to have basement finished. There are also 2 garage doors that need to be replaced. Thank you…Bonnie

  66. I submit this for a friend who needs help. He's a single dad with two children. No help from their mother, he's going his best. Their house is in bad shape. No heat or air, only one partially working bathroom. Out of date electronic. The well for the House has non potable water coming out.Josh works hard to provide for his children. He's a sweet kind hearted man who doesn't ask for anything. He was left to raise his children on his own. His car has no heat or air, the gauges don't work but it is only means of transportation at the moment. He is trying to do home repairs himself, but by the time one thing is fixed something else is breaking.I would love be to lift this weight off him and give them a life changing gift. He is most deserving. Thank you.

  67. my mom s house has board floors in the whole house. The painting has never been finished. My mom has pipes to connect to her room for bathroom. Needs new windows. As it is so cold in the winter. My mom is legally deaf and blind. I await your reply. Thank you.

  68. My name is Ryan Carr, I am a Home Oxygen Technician for a homecare company. I have many elderly patients who because of heart/ Lung failure find themselves unable to probably keep up with house chores and land maintenance and basically everything in their lives.
Out of the hundreds of people I see regularly that would really benefit from your help, one stands out without a question. You almost get sick walking in the residence it smells so bad. The floors are covered in garbage/torn up carpet old stuff etc.. The yard is so over grown and decrepit I am sure his neighbours and town think of him as disgusting and lazy, when in reality he has an amazing attitude and positive outlook on live specially considering his circumstances.
I am not sure of his family history or situation but as far as I can tell there is no one to help or to care. I fear for his safety as well as he uses a walker to move around very slowly and can barley fit it through the hallways.
COPD is a incurable disease that leaves one unable to do much physically and I think that this man deserves a little bit of a hand if not for his happy go lucky attitude then for the beautiful lot and house potential that he has and has never been able to see because of his disease.

  69. Hi, am so glad to be writing to you today and hoping my prayer would be answered. My mum, a woman who has struggled on her own from my childhood before I turned 1year old, when my dad left us. I have 9 siblings but not biological. They are from the ophange where my mum worked. She managed to build a house which has 3 small bedrooms after toiling for some many years trading n working with an orphanage(sos). But for more than ten years now, this house has not been completed. There is no living area, no dining area, no tiles fitted, not all parts have paints and there's so much water in d ground dat all the walls are peeling off. In short the house is in a deplorable state. We ve no where to even receive visitors so I never allow friends to visit.how sad. I fervently wish u give me a home makeover so my mum could be happy. It has my wish to wipe away all her tears. Please please grant my wish and that of my mum. Thank you.

  70. my name is lillian. I'm almost 14 years old & all I do is see my mom struggle. she was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer. the cancer is starting to clear up. but the tumar is still there. we've lived in this house for over 14 years. the foundation is bad & the walls are starting to crack it scares me because im afraid of our house falling apart , so I think we should on this seasons make over , for all my mom does for my family , she deserves it.

  71. I don't know where to start. My boyfriends mom has a black mold issue in her home. She lives in poplar bluff, MO. Since the flood in 2008 (which caused the black mold) she has been battling a loosing battle with the black mold in her lungs. It's like every time we think she gets better it gets worse. I am currently up her in ak with her son. And he wishes sometimes he never left because of her condition. His mom has basically raised his kids when he has been trying to make ends meet. She is the most awesome righteous woman I have ever met. My boyfriend and his kids cry almost every time they talk to her because they know of her condition and they don't have the option to spend the time needed with her. I recently told my boyfriend that we will make it happen this summer for him to see his mom. But recently he told my he'd rather use the money to pay for her medical expenses as needed to get her the treatment she needs in st.louis. I'm lost on what to do. I really want to fly down there and build her another home but money and time permits me from doing such things (I'm a carpenter and my boyfriend is an electrician) I asking for a much needed hand. She is the ambassador of the whole family. She is the corner stone of our lives and please help us.. It's even tough to write this.

Ps she doesn't know I'm trying to apply for this.

  72. Wow, well I never thought I'd write to your show. Actually, I hoped I'd never have to contact the show, but I've seen what you and your crew have done over the years to change the lives of so many deserving families. Let me begin by saying that my father, Walter L. Graham, passed away December 14, 2014…a month ago. He battled with COPD for many years. He spent 22 years in the US Navy as a nuclear weapons technician and was proud to serve our nation. Because of my dad I joined the Army in December 2002, and with his encouragement I graduated college and became an officer.

I am his only child and he never remarried. I know I'm lucky to have such a wonderful father, and words cannot express the joy he brought to my life. The home I know today has been my home since I was about a year old..that's about 38 years! My father passed away last month and I'm torn because I love his (my)home, but as it sits right now it's more his home than mine. My husband and I have thought about moving in, but everything reminds me of him. I cannot even think about sleeping in the master bedroom because that's where my father spent the last 38 years sleeping! I have so many wonderful memories in his home and he has left it to me. He did everything to make sure I was always taken care of. He spent his entire life making sure I never had to suffer. It is because of my father that I am the person I am today…a Captain in the Army and a Manufacturing Engineer (Planner) at Boeing. I miss my father beyond words, and nothing can take away the pain of his loss. I want to keep his home, but it is so outdated and run-down that it would cost us more to update and move in than to sell it and find a new place. I really would rather keep his home, and keep him close to my heart.

I've been really struggling with my fathers loss the last 4 weeks. All I want is to find a way to honor my father. If you find a family more deserving of help, please let me know and maybe it'll help me in the healing process to help another family in rebuilding their home and lives.

    Thank you for your consideration,

    Catherine C. Mitcheltree

  73. I work as a 911 dispatcher and was diagnosed with MS approximately 9 years ago. I managed until now. I recently moved to North Bay area and the stress of the move
got the best of me. I love helping people but have not been able to return to work. My husband quit his job to follow me and has been looking after me, therefore not working. I am having trouble walking and have cognitive impairment. I don't want to lose our home but we need help. Thank you for your consideration.
