  1. It's hard asking for help for someone you can't financially help yourself. My mother name is cedelia and her 4 babies, are struggling right now. Her house, is falling apart. She is a wonderful mom, full time job, single parent. The house is old, like really old, and it is infested with roaches rats and spiders. She has water leaks everywhere, her name is cedelia garcia! The code enforcement has come and threatened to shut her house down, to condemned her home. She has no where else to go or to live. This home isn't just a home.it is the home her mother left to her when she.died of a failed liver transplant abruptly!!! This home is sentimental value to her…it's all she has left from her mom…Cedelia goes to church all the time, she helps people and friends and helps families during their difficult times. She is a member of st.theresa church and the kids!!She deserves this blessing so much!!! She has strived so.hard to keep her family together and well.off just for code enforcement and the city to come and run them off.Cedelia and the kids have nowhere else to go. Besides she doesn't just deserve it, the kids deserve it they are good kids and her youngest Isabella, is suffering from a brain disorder, which keeps her mentality at a lower age, than she is. Cedelia raises the kids alone because she lost the children's dad…and it's sad.because we do not know how long bella has she can change at any moment. She is only 4 years old !! She also has 2 boys.8 & 11… My mom did a great job raising me, and my oldest brother. She doesn't deserve to be living in this old run down house, the house.is cold during the winter the Windows all broken and shower has holes, and floors are old and all have holes of which the kids have injured themselves. I.mean i wish i could post some photos on here, y'all would understand. Please consider my mom and her kids to be blessed with an extreme home makeover they don't need a fancy home or luxurious place all they.need is a place to be happier and comfortable and be able to sleep without roaches crawling on them and a kitchen that they can cook.together in. Just a home a simple but beautiful home.please please please help them. I see all stories on here so touching,Please help my mom though and the kids!! the kids and her will be more than happy they will be forever grateful!! It will be a blessed 2015 year if she is blessed this way!!! Please please please read this!!! If anyone deserves to live comfortable it is the children they are too young to be living this way, and to.not have a floor with no holes. Thanks for your time to read this!!

This house isn't in great shape and her 5year old is oh so sick he needs a new home… Please if u could help her and the kids out… The doctors told us that jr (5) wouldn't live to see age 5 and he prove them all wrong… He had open heart surgery at 3months old and now everything is going back to the way it was… He has his moments where his oxygen level drops… It's just all starting over… So I'm begging for Ty to help this family out they really need it.

  3. Hello. My name is Kelli Sheppard and I am applying for my friend Vallary Halladay. Last summer, Vallary had a pool accident that left her a paraplegic. The government has denied her help in retrofitting her home so that she can come home after rehab. We have fund-raised money for her, but it's not enough. She is going to go back to living with her mother, who is a widower with 2 other children. We have done as much as we can, and I want to know that Vallary can come home. Please help us, I don't know where else to turn to. Thank you for your consideration in this. A link to her story, covered by CHCH is below.

  6. Hello my name is Torrey Montgomery. About 3 years ago I married into a wonderful family. My wife's father passed away when she was 15 years old. That left he mother there with 3 kids including my wife. My mother in law has a very low income. She only receives and check from her late husbands military retirement. On top of that she's taking care of my wife's sister who has severe autism. Her brother still lives in the house he is suffering from some mental challenges which limits him from contributing and he battles various health issues. The house that they live in has completely falling apart. The bathrooms have whole in the walls. Facets don't work. The central air and heat barely work which leaves them cold in the winter and hot in the summer. The carpet is in unbelievably horrible condition. In the Kitchen a lot of the cabinets have no doors and the floor has cracks.. Recently a pipe underneath the house busted causing water to flood in the house. She was told that it is going to be around $5,000 to repair the pipe and that's just for the plumbing. Their going to have to dig a whole in the Kitchen and rip out the cabinets to fix it. So she then will have to pay someone to come and reconstruct all that is torn out. This is very stressing for my wife and her mother because she does not have the money to do any of this. she has no clue what to do. I haven't seen a house in this bad of shape.. It breaks my heart to see the family go through this. It would mean the world to my wife to see her mother, brother, and sister live in a house that they can be comfortable and safe. PLEASE HELP US!!!! I'm praying that this is an answer to a prayer..

  7. Greetings to Everyone,
I have a dream, hoping this dream can become reality. I dream for something for a friend of mine. I knew that she and her family were having hard times with the maintenance of the house. But I never have idea of how much and how big the situation is, until recently. This year 2015 I visit them were they live in Oklahoma. My soul felt apart when I saw the sad, horrible situation of the place where they live, no even qualified to be called "a house". I'm 55 year old strong man, but I almost cried everyday knowing their situation. My friend is in her 50's, divorced, mother and grandmother, a younger daughter live with her in this place.
This place was a house long time ago, 11-eleven years ago, the place was set for DEMOLITION, but after her divorce she was unable to leave this terrible place. The whole house is rotten. The roof is falling apart with some parts missing, water leak any rain day. The house lack running water, so my friend has to take water from a pool on the yard, product of a broken pipe. They bucket water for cleaning and baths. All doors and windows are falling apart and the wind blow thru the cracks. friend use an old furnace for cooking and keep some warm. She has to look around town for free cut trees, then she use an ax to cut the word. I did some of the cut in past days, even for me was so hard to cut HICKORY with an Ax! she have an gas cutter recently, even so the work is hard for anybody. My friend is a great mother doing whatever decent to keep herself and daughter alive. She is working in her teaching license, and sometimes is called to work as substitute teacher in a part time basis. I don't have money to help her to FIX this falling apart place, I will give her a new house if were in my power, but I can't. I live in Colorado, working for a low salary. They need EVERYTHING, I had been overseas in poor countries, and poor people in other countries are BETTER that this family, PLEASE, I BEG YOU, HELP THEM!!! Ican volunteer my work to help, but no money.
I can provide you pictures if you want, so you can see that my description is far behind the BAD SITUATION, PLEASE HELP THEM ASAP, I WOORRY ABOUT THEIR SAFETY IN THAT FALLEN PLACE, PLEASE!!! Broken hearted in Colorado.

  8. I am writing on behalf of my family. We currently have a home in Dallas, Texas. The fanily has had the house for more than 18-20 years. My Grandfathers cousin gave us the house when she passed we moved in, in 1998 been there every since. My grand father died, then it went over to my Grandmother. My grandfather sister and cousin tried to take the house from us. But my grandmother got a lawyer and fought hard for it. She passed in 2008. Now me and my mother stay there. It's really falling apart. It has a gas leak and the water pipe busted today. The house is shifting on the back end of the house. At first we had no hot water, now there is no water at all. My mom, child and I. Have to do so much just to take a bath and cook. We have gas everything in the home. I pray at night every night that something happens just so we wont have to sale it or give it to the state. My grandmpther worked so hard at making sure we.kept our home. It hurts so bad to see it going down like it is. Right now my mom is working parttime and I'm working and willing to get it where it was, but I cant do it all by myself. We have 3bdrms, 1 and a half bath, 2 dining rooms and a den. Hopefully Extreme makeover can help us keep outr home. Just to have our family home when someone needs a place to stay. I will be looking forward to a call or email. Thank you for your time.

  9. Hi my name is Jane. I am nominating my parents for an extreme home makeover. My parents immigrated to the United States to seek refuge during the Vietnam War. My dad is in his 70's and my mom is entering her 70's. They have worked so hard and sacrificed a lot to send my sister and me to school. Even now, they are still trying to support us as we try to gain our footing in the world. My parents are tired but are still working to support this family. I want them to retire. They have been working all of their lives and I feel that they truly deserve to a home where they can relax and not have to worry. They have agreed to take it easy if I move in and take over the finances. However, because my parents came from humble backgrounds, the house has become very crammed. They have a difficult time discarding large quantities of objects that they no longer use. My mom has fallen down the stairs because of how difficult it is to maneuver around the house. My dad sometimes has to use crutches when his gout flares up, and I'm concerned that it is going to only be a matter of time before he also falls.

This house has a rat problem. My dad tries to keep them at bay by climbing up into the attic/roof and setting traps. This house also has plumbing issues where the toilet often backs up. There is a constant leak coming into the garage; sometimes the garage becomes flooded. One bathroom has been out of order for over 10 years because there was a mold problem. My parents still haven't had the funds to repair it. Their solution was to close off access to that bathroom so that the mold wouldn't spread. Please help me flip this house into a safe haven for my parents to retire in.

  11. Hello Iam a asking help not for me but for my Pastors. Our church is in emergency need of remodeling and we as a small group don't have the resources to fix everything around. We love working with the community we love helping the people regarding nationalities, colors or genders. It would be a true Blessings for all of our memebers in our church and I would love to see the faces on our Pastors when you guys will take the chance to review our case. Blessings

  12. I am commenting to nominate a family for EHM. My mom, dad, sister, and Aunt Lou all live in the same tiny home. There are 2 bedrooms, one small bathroom that is filled with black mold, and the smallest kitchen I've ever seen. It was all fine and good for my Aunt Lou when she was living alone, but since her husband passed away she has come upon some mental and medical problems that she refuses to really accept. My mother and father were transferred to FL from WV a few years ago and have had trouble finding a home ever since, and very limited funds. During that time, my dad wrongfully lost his job and the search was over. Luckily my aunt decided that she wanted to live with them and invited them to stay with her. Eventually she just ended up signing the house over to them and they have been trying their hardest to scrounge up the money to add on and fix the home. My sister who is 16 doesn't even have a bedroom of her own. She sleeps in the living room on the couch and keeps her clothing in my parents room and in an old cedar chest that they use as a piano bench. Needless to say, she has absolutely no privacy. My dad finally found a new job but the pay is about half as much as what he was getting at his old job. Luckily he loves his job, but sometimes it just doesn't cut it. They have been living paycheck to paycheck and sometimes not even making it like that. My mom has a few medical conditions: Lupus, Fibromyalgia, horrible asthma and heart issues. She is supposed to have a heart catherization but her insurance will not pay for one unless she has an actual heart attack and obviously has horrible lung and breathing issues because of the black mold and the age of the home. I really feel that they deserve a home that will fit their needs and make them all comfortable. They have worked so hard and gave so much to everyone else that they truly deserve this. Thanks for taking the time to read this and I hope you are able to make their dreams come true. 😀

  13. Hello, since I was I little girl I used to see your show with my sister she went to school for arquitecture and I remember I used to cry seen how bless all the family were by you since I was little my parents never could provided it with a place to call home, we were always renting or living with family members, because the economic situation was really bad they could only provide for food, school and clothes, I love my parents , Now that I'm a grown women I told to myself that I was going to provide for my own family a place to call home, when i was 16 doctor told me that i wasn't able to have babies but i really trusted God that he was going to give me the kids i need it and he gave me two little angels a 4 years old that has autism and a 2 years old makes it hard for me to go to work, we just bought a house but the space is very limit all I need is a place for my kid therapy and we have a workshop on the backyard that we want to turn it into a guess house so that I can bring my parent from Nicaragua and give them a decent life, I also babysit to help mother in need of a somebody trusty for their kids and also that way my boy can interact with other kids, please I'm not asking for a fancy house, just extra space for my kid , and his friends and to give my parent a place to call home, thanks, I know yall have been a blessing to many family

  15. Hello. I am writing to ask for help with renovating the home of my brother and his family. They currently live in a large house built in 1917 and I don't believe it has seen an update yet. My brother is a police detective, his wife is a stay at home mom, and they have two boys ; 14 & 20. About 10 years ago, they lost their son at 11 months old due to multiple organ failures from birth. At that time, my brother was working at a vending machine company and loss his job because of his absence to visit his son in the hospital. Since then, while my brother has been fortunate to obtain a job in the police force, he continues to struggle to provide for his family. Due to the size and age of his house, they are paying $500-$600/month alone for heat, the roof is well overdue to be replaced, they have holes in the wall, drawers are falling off, etc. and instead of putting any spare change to fixing up the place, he feels the need to give to those who need it more. I am not the person to give sob stories or by any means ask for help, but if there is anyone who deserves this, it would be my brother who despite all of his hardships, he continues to give his shirt off his back to help others.

  16. My mother has been a strong tower for the 33 years that I have walked this earth. I am the oldest of 3 children and have a bother that lives at home still and sister who lives on her own. This program has been amazing since the very first episode aired. No matter the circumstances of the families that are blessed or how many times I watch I can not help but be moved to tears. These of course are tears of joy to see the impact that is made on families lives is a blessing all by itself. I am proud to share in the joy that those who make this happen may feel even on a greater level then I do from just watching. Thank you for bringing hope to the world and showing the love of Christ.
With the knowledge that there are many who have greater needs I humbly submit this believing that my mother is worthy of an opportunity such as this. When she was pregnant with my brother who is now 20 and in college she left took a leap of faith by leaving a state job that she had worked for ten years with no advancement and little education. She decided to open an in home daycare with little knowledge in business ,but plenty of love and mother instincts she relied on God to show her the way. The original plan was to only do daycare until my brother was in high school, but we make plans and God laughs is what they say. Currently " His Precious Children" daycare has been helping low income, single mothers for 17 years and has provided means for my mother to raise her children on her own. Over the years I have seen my mother share her experience with many young women who have been in situations that she can relate to. She has been supportive of them in any way she can and has imparted much of the wisdom that God has given her throughout her struggles as well. Although the business has been a blessing in many ways to many people it has seen many ups and downs. Through it all God has made a way out of no way. Many times there has been a full daycare and a constant flow of income and many times there has been little to no children and very little income, but she has always stood strong in her faith and it has always worked out. Recently she was faced with the dilemma of having to move from the house that we have lived in for 25 years and ran her business from for 17 because of the death of the property owner. With no knowledge of the current prices of renting a home or purchasing one she was in shock when she began to look. with little savings and less then fair income she was once again in a position that she knew that the only way out was through her faith in the Lord. The house was placed on the market and quickly generated potential buyers , but many could see that it was in need of some major renovations. It is a very old house ,but it is home to her and my brother as well. Eventually the house became a burden to the family of the owner and they contacted my mother and offered it to her at a lesser value then listed, but still out of reach for her income. She was determined that God would make a way and that if it was meant for her to remain in this house it would be by no doing of her own. The family contacted my mother again and offered it at an even lower price, but was still more then she could afford. Something inside of her told her to offer the difference of what was offered and purpose that she would take over the mortgage that was owed. After waiting for only a day or so the owners agreed to her offer. She wrote them a check for 6,000 dollars which was money she was saving for a new vehicle. It truly was a great moment and it to brought tears to my eyes to know that my mother did not have to move or loose her business and Im proud to say that this was a recent event and that my mother was able to pay the mortgage off in November and enter into 2015 as a home owner. The owners even felt compelled to pay the property taxes for her. Now that she has the house it is going to take another move of faith to do the work that needs to be done to fix this house so that she may live out the remainder of her life her and run her business as long as the good Lord allows her. This is home to all of us and we spend a lot of time together holidays, birthdays, and dinner together and enjoying each others company. Although we have managed for many years the house is smaller then our family with grandchildren and family and friends and a daycare that does not have its own separate space from the living quarters we have out grown this place 10 years ago. The kitchen does not promote cooking together and creating memories because it is very small. I believe that the electric is outdated and needs to be redone. The house does not have any insulation in the walls because it is so old. There are many things that need to be done to make this house more functional and in my heart I would love to see my mother blessed again in a way that only God can do. with your help this house can make my mothers dreams come true and be in this family for many years to come. Thank You.

  17. I know that this is not the site to apply for the makeover. Well My name is Jacqueline Dyke
I was adopted at the age of 10 with my siblings I really want my parents to have a home make over My parents use to be foster parents they have stoped. growing up my parents were always giving out so much for others. I moved back just about 2 years ago when i was in the 7th grade my parents added an addition to the house my parents are not a normal lol. People always ask if i was my parents biological daughter well i always say yes even though i was adopted by them. When i mean my parents are not normal i mean that out of 2 other sisters I have a total of ten brothers. My parents are always doing things for us that they dont have the energy to do anything else i want them to have a home that they don't have a mess to pick up when they walk through the door. my parents are in their late fiftys. my dad travels alot for his job and my mom also works. my mom is always saying when we remodel i want this and i want that i want to do that but i cant. If it wasn't for my parents i dont know where i would be at all. My parents own a hundred and sixty acres of land out in the country. we have 10 dogs, six cows but i mean out of the six we have a steer and bull, i think we have five horses, and some cats. i don't know where to turn to do to get them a new wonderful home like they did for us when we were adopted. they have paid the morgage to the house the also have four rental one of them is a quad two are houses and one is a duelplex and two or three of them need to be fixed up. I hope that they can get a makeover but i hate watching my parents trying to do their best for us and for them at the same time. By the way i want this would be a surprise if they do get i make over. My siblings know about this but my parents dont know if this does happen My siblings will help do this because they have done a lot for us and the kids that they fostered before my siblings and the three boys the adopted a few years ago. I love my parents and i want to do the best to them as they are to us. I will send pictures of the house and the farm. to you even if they get it or not thank you
with all the love for my family

  18. Hello! I am entering a very loving and close family, who recently lost their father to Guillain Barre Syndrome, after a heartbreaking battle, following Thanksgiving. At the young age of 30, Jeremy Gut(Goot), left behind his wife, Krista ( who is kind hearted, open mined, and a beautiful photographer) and their three adorable boys David, 12, Jack 6 and Max who just turned 3 yesterday. Jeremy was the sole provider for Krista and the boys. My three boys are very close to the ages of theirs and their situation hit so close to home for me, that I wanted to reach out to help in some way. I, and so many others, want for a light of hope to shine on this young family who did everything together. Jeremy and Krista were high school sweethearts, a rarity in this day and age and together they were raising well rounded boys who are so kind to others. Boys that celebrate people's differences. Jeremy and Krista's oldest has Autism and the way they both approached David's diagnosis, then and now, is to be admired. Jeremy was a super involved father who coached his son's baseball and soccer teams. This summer he coached a group of tee-ballers without any help. Extremely patient? Yes. Extremely devoted dad? Without a doubt. Every time I saw a Gut family member, I saw them all. Because they were always together. This is an extremely deserving family who not only needs many repairs and updates on their aging home, but a glimmer of hope in this time of darkness. Thank you for your consideration for the Gut Family.

  19. Hi ty and group my name is Audrey im writing to you from rogers Ohio hoping for some help…I am a young mother of three my middle child is hyperallergenic to a lot of things…an I always will be housing a sister with many medical problems an my house is falling apart. 20. Hello my name is Jacob Cromwell. I'm from lennon MI. I grew up with 5 brothers and 4 sisters in a 3 bedroom double wide trailer. Our home was never finished. After my mother passed away when I turned eighteen my dad lost the house on back tax. We moved to a apartment untill he saved money for a decent house. Unfortinatley there isn't enough room at my fathers so I moved in with my girlfriend and her mother in Elsie MI.

This house needs some work or torn down and rebuilt. The problem is the owners (girlfiends mom and step dad) work so much just to get by. Both work E.M.S, at Hospital and fire department. They spend more time at work than any thing. 24Hr shifts and some times 36hr shifts. We have tried to fix up both the kitchen and basement but its just time consuming and takes more money than we can afford. So if you and a crew could squeze this family into you schedual it would mean the world to all of us. My girlfriends mother deserves this more than words could explain.
Email me if need be if you are interested in this project. I can send pictures and more story about us. Email
    Thank you, Jacob Michael Cromwell

  21. Hi my name is Dee-Dee and I would like for my mom to appear on your show. She has a heart of gold, she helps everyone as she can, she recently has been diagnosed with spinal Vista so she had to stop working. She was in a car accident that could have took her life and she hasn't been right every since. She has so many problems with her house as soon as she get something fixed everything goes wrong. She paid somebody to fix her house the half did the job and took her money, now she is in a house with a broke furnace and whoever so called fixed her light messes them up even more, her celling fell down in the kitchen, she has no lights on her 2nd & 3rd floor, but that don't stop her from watching her grandkids. No matter what she has to do she trys her best to do it. All I am askin is some help for her she helps everyone all the time. Thanking u in advance

  22. Hello. My Name is Timothy Cannady. I live in Seneca, MO. My wife and I are both disabled Veterans. She had a horrible accident while deployed to Iraq back on 2008-2010. Her truck was blown up and and evertone in the vehicle took shrapnel except her but she now suffers from a Tramatic Brain Injury. I was hurt just before I was to be deployed and we met shortly after she came home. So to us it's like it was meant for us to be. Just after us being married we found out we were going to be having our first child Adam. She got out of the military and we moved to Montana to be with her family. Soon after I could not find work for like 2 years so needless to say we lost everything we had worked so hard for. Now our credit is shot but we are trying to make it better. We moved back to missouri to help take care of my mother who will not be with us much longer. Currently we rent but we need a place of our own. Our 3 year old son Adam has ODD. He is always breakin the rental house and I am having to fix it but I am just afraid that one day the owner is gonna see the damage and tell us that we have to leave before I could fix it. We would love to stay in this area due to my family needing help. We love your show and love how you help the lives of others and if we are not selected we will continue to watch and enjoy how you and your crew change the lives of all those needing people. Thank you for your time.

  23. I would like to nominate a small business in my town. A friend of mine owns a greenhouse and since her father passed she has been struggling. We are a farming community and not real close to any big towns so most of the folks here rely on the local greenhouse for our gardens. Gardens that many folks use to stock their pantries. She bought this greenhouse about 15 yrs ago with her Dad. It was old and run down when they got it and had been closed for a number of years. The two of them spent all their free time (and money) to get the greenhouse up and running again. A few years after they bought it her Dad was diagnosed with cancer. He was treated but it definitely slowed him down. Then the slowdown in the economy hit our town hard and took a big toll on all the businesses in town. Things started to improve but Christmas 2013 her Dad passed away. It has been a huge strain on my friend. She not only lost her partner but her support when times got tough. She is now alone in the running of the business as well as the family home and her Mom. I know you don't do businesses but I feel this would be a great opportunity to help not only 1 family but the surrounding community as well.

  24. Hi my name is Alyssa. I'm 19 years old and I don't have one of the sad stories to add to the story I have. I live with my mother, sister and nephew. I recently lost my car and job in an accident so the only person with the money is my mother. She has always been working multiple jobs to provide for me and my 3 sisters and nephew as well. Trying to get the money for the bills and food was her main priority. Growing up our house has never been healthy and stable for any family to live in. There's mold on our ceiling, our tub has fallen down a little under the floor level and our toilet barely flushes if you're lucky. We have holes in every room and the floors are very uneven. There is so much more wrong in this house. I feel like my mother deserves this more than anything because she has been a single mother doing this on her own for a very long time already. Your help and blessings would change her life so much. Thank you for taking the time to read this. You guys are amazing.

  25. Hi my name is Christina. Mother of 4 with 3 who live in the home. Recently bought a mobile home for my kids and I. My oldest son son and youngest daughter were in a wreck 2 yrs ago and been having trouble working due to having problems with my lower back. Can't go to the dr due to I can't afford the insurance. My fiancé works so hard to make ends meet. But still seems like it is not enough. When I recieved our settlement from our wreck I thought I could have enough to buy land as well. But I only had enough to buy my mobile home which doesn't really fit all of us in it. My husband and I sleep in the living room due to the unit for the ac/heat doesn't work. So we r having to use a small electric entertainment center for heat for us as well as the oven to keep house warm for the winter. The kids sleep in the front room together since they have such a small space heater as well. It hurts so much cause we can't do more or have the money to buy heater or to even pay someone to come out and fix it. We have been trying to fix a few things here and their but just seems to be getting worse. Plus when I think about how much more stuff needs to be done I don't let anyone know how stressed I am because I want my kids to have what I never did. When all that gets to me all at once my heart tends to start having pain but can't go and get it checked. My life had been a living wreck ever since I could remember. I have lost my grandparents whom raised me most of my life and I always thought that I wouldn't make it without them. They never got to see their grandkids when they were born but I do know that they r watching down on us. I just hope that they are proud of how far I have come. I have always watched this show and every it of what yall have done has brough tears to my eyes to those who have loved and lost a lot. Never did I thought that I would be here asking for help but I would be a miracle from God to know that you all are a miracle for me and my family.

  26. Hello My aunt Jackie lives in monroeville Alabama. She has ms. Her house is over 75 years old. It hasn't had anything updated on it in years. She isnt able to use any parts of the house because the door ways are so small, no wheel chair acess at all.I would love for her to take a bath, go out on the front porch to breathe and take in some sun, hear the birds chirp. She stays in the bed all day everyday. It would be nice to see her get around. She has good spirit and smiles. Her and Uncle Bernice has retired from vanity fair. The house has a lot of memories as kids. But just not functional for her and multiple sclerosis. I have a story to tell just so much to say. My aunt is the best and most loving person. Never selfish its always about everyone else. Even if she was chosen she may not feel whorthy of such a thing. Thanks Stacey Cole I love my Aunt to death. Cant change the desease but wish she could be more comfortable.

  28. This year has been a very hard year for my family and I. I was diagnosed several years ago with a very rare kidney condition that causes me daily chronic pain, infections and lowers my immune system. It has also caused me to become severely depressed and having to deal with anxiety issues. Over the last year and a half I have had to undergo 2 kidney surgeries and have been hospitalized 4 times, twice for sepsis because of kidney infections that spread to my bloodstream. Currently there is no cure for my condition besides experimental treatment. Because of the constant pain I am in, I was on disability leave from work for over 6 months and am only able to work part time as of now. I am not able to afford good insurance and my medical bills do not help our financial situation at all. There are certain treatments they want to try but we simply can not afford them. My husband and I finally were able to get married in September, although I barely made it down the aisle because I was in so much pain. Since my husband is pretty much bringing in the only source of income, we live in a very old trailer with our 6 year old daughter. Our furnace broke down in November just when it started getting cold and we had to live with space heaters for over a month until we could afford to fix it. There are many repairs needed in our trailer that we can not afford, such as severe water damage in our bathroom from old pipes and soft spots in our floors. We have had many struggles the past few years and it seems like we keep dealing with one hardship after another. We think what you do for those in need is amazing and it would change our lives forever if you could help us.

  29. My name is Stephanie. My mother in law is a 35 year veteran of the US Army. She lives in an old rail road house in a small town in Texas. Her husband passed away 2 years ago this March from cancer. This was the same month she retired from the VA Hospital. Her life has been changed dramatically. She ended up having to get another job because her finances didn't work out like she planned. She has been doing home health care and child care where she can to help when she can. She is a very loving, caring and giving woman. She is always giving and doing when she can even when she only has very little to offer. She really deserves to be given back to. For all her service and support to everyone else. We do what we can for her but we are too financially strapped due to our own medical bills. I know you get a lot of entries of people needing help and others who are just as great. I just hope you can take a minute to learn more about her and hopefully help her.

  30. My name is Amanda, I'm 20years old, I have a daughter who is 1. I am writing this for my mother, my mom suffers from brain tumors that keep growing back. she underwent 3 or 4 surgeries to burn the tumor out, she's a single mother who raised me, and my two little sisters alone. She works 7 days a week, with only 3 days off within a year. She works an work even with her condition, but one thing that would make her happy is having her home fixed up. she has black mold growing in the ceiling and bathrooms, her floor needs re-tilling, the kitchen is falling apart an so is the rooms. our family cant visit or stay with her cause she's ashamed of her home. I know it makes her sad how she works so hard but yet never can do something nice for herself like fix up her house. my daughter & I also stay with my mom because I also am a single mother but because of how the house is there is hardly any room for us an can't be around the black mold since it can make you sick. I hope somewhere out there someone reads this an can actually help. I can gather pics of the house if needed, we just need a miracle in our life. getting the house fixed will answer our prayers. I would like to take the time to appreciate you reading my story an hopefully make our dreams come true. thank you.

  31. Hey there EHM, my name is Amanda Smoot and I am nominating my new Family and their tiny home! They are the Smoots and there are currently 5 of us living in a little 3 bedroom home in Moreno Valley CA. They have and amazing family and an awesome story. Linda Smoot (my new mother in law) has been the sole provider for this home for over 14 years and she raised her two sons on her own right here. Her husband was forced to leave when her oldest some was only 8 years old and Linda had to pick herself up and be a single mom and a provider for her kids. Linda and her two grown boys absolutely love this home and can't bear to leave it, but it need some seriouse work. She gives so much to her family, her boys, and her church that she has no time to help herself. This home is her safe haven and I can see the plans she has for it, but I can also see that she has no time to do things for herself when she is working 5days at her job and then continuing her work in the church's and helping family. She deserves a break and I intend to give it to her, I'm just going to need a little help.

  32. Hello, my partner and I work for the 911 service for the county in which we live. Today we were called out for a 66 year old man who was sick and is being taken care of by his 93 year old father, who is a Normandy Veteran. Mr. Cordell (the father) is sharp as a tack for 93 and is a very proud man. He has the most amazing stories about Normandy that would make you cry and he is eager to share them with anyone. He has witnessed his Sgt. along with others die when stepping onto the beach at Normandy. He remembers names and ranks of each of them. But it becomes sad when you walk onto the front porch of his home. It is cluttered with newspapers from past years, there isn't a screen on his screen door nor does it lock. When entering his home, it becomes devastating. First, it is the foul odor as you open the door then you see walls with mold and filth, looking at the floors they are warped and the amount of filth on the floor I cannot even begin to describe in words. There is only a floor heater which is located in the living room and we assume it heats the living and kitchen because all the other doors closed to keep the heat there. We are unsure if there is even running water or stationary heat and air. The living room consisted of a broken washer and dryer with other miscellaneous things unsuitable for a living room. We are unsure of bedroom furniture, but if it is anything like what we did see, I am sure it is unacceptable as well. They have dogs, which he considers them his family too. Mr. Cordell continued to apologize for his home and as a Veteran he should NEVER have to be ashamed of where he lives or who he is. This is a proud man and he needs a home that he is proud of. This gentleman sacrificed for our freedom and we should pull together so that he can have a home that he can relax in with not having any worries at his age. We know that you will do the very best you can for this precious man. We feel that this is a time sensitive thing with the possibility of him being displaced from his home, which seems to us that he has made this his home and wants to continue to live here. This man to us, has sacrificed his life at Normandy for us. Now he is sacrificing his life once again for his son and is doing the best he can. He appears to be a simple man with values and wants the best for his son but with that being said at his age he deserves the best as well. He does not have the resources nor the strength to do maintenance that his home requires to make it livable. PLEASE–PLEASE if there is anything you can do, we would be so forever grateful.

  33. My mother in law has lupus, her and my father in law give more then they can, they have taken me and my kids in and they also recently moved my brother in laws girl friend and two kids, we now have 5 adults 4 kids 6 cats and 3 dogs, we have a three he's room house and are so strapped on space and money. Thus house is 19 20 years old but its falling apart. The rooms don't hold heat in very much and to me the worst part is the fact my mother in law has lupus along with many other health problems and yet even tho it hurts her back she is always in her kitchen. The cupboards are to high the counter tops are at a height its painful for her to do anything yet she never lets the pain stop her she never complains she just gets up and keeps going day in and day out. She's amazing in so many ways and if you guys helped her it would change her whole life. She is always giving and never expecting it asking for anything, so here I am I cant afford to buy her a new house or fix the kitchen and the bed rooms and all the other things wrong with her house so all 8 of us are asking you guys no begging you guys to please help us help her in making things just a tad bit easier for her please, she needs this.

  34. Good morning EHM, I'm a wife of an amazing man that's taken on 3 children from a previous marriage and raised two from his previous marriage and is the father of 3 totaling of 8 children. Although we have a large family we don't allow it as a handicap, recent ally his mother became paralyzed from the knees down and can't walk. And my mother has been in several hospitals for copd exacerbation. While I care for both moms and all our children he is gone for 11 weeks or more at a time working on the tow boats. Leaving me to care for everyone which can be a chore but God willing it gets done. We were in the process of remodeling our home to make it feezable for our family when my mil fell paralyzed and we had no choice but to move our entire family to her home bc she couldn't be at home alone and we wanted to be able to care for them both instead of a nursing facility that's extremely expensive and her insurance got canceled after 20 years as a sergeant for TEXAS DEPARTMENT OF CRIMINAL JUSTICE. My husband makes good money but we are just over whelmed with not enough time to handle things needing to be done to both my mil's and moms home. As well as our own. I'm usually a youth cheer coach for the Tarkington Youth Football in the community that we live in but have failed to be able to do my duties as such bc of so much that I'm trying to do here. I've had several parents of the girls refuse to re enroll their children bc I am absent and won't till my return. The field is truly run down and a embarrassment to the community as well as our teams. Our kids all play their hearts out and deserve a nice facility. We have done fund raisers ect but still no change? I understand that you might not be able to help with my personal issues with my own home and our moms home. But please look into the Tarkington Youth Football field in Cleveland Texas. I am unable to help them right now but this would forever help, the community is so small with nothing to start the kids out with the fundamentals to teach them to help keep them from falling into trouble. This can potentially help create wonderful amazing adults for our community and our future! Thanks in advance for hearing me out. Love your show and all the help I have seen on your shows it's great to know that there are people left in the world that are all about the good! Thanks again and god bless you all!

  35. hi my name is ijeaane and i really need my great grandmother house remodle 8 generations was raised in the house .My grandma house is slowly falling appart and she do not want the leave her home the walls in her basement are slowly falling and mildow is all over the basement.she runs a daycare out of her house to help pay for her bills. Most of the kids are asmatics and the mold is really bad for there health.im 16 and my grandma is 73 can you please help rebuild her house she stay in kansas city missouri

  36. Hello my name is Lisa Sims. I love the show. I'd like to see my parents catch a break for once. My dad is Retired Army and is disabled due to Agent Orange. He is in currently in remission from cancer. He and my mother give up everything to care for my disabled brother Kevin and his four children. My brother was a police officer for 13 years, was injured on the job, and He has prostate cancer believed to have been passed down from my dad's agent orange exposure. 6 months ago they bought what they thought was there dream home. 6 bedrooms 3 baths on 2 acres in Texas not far from Dallas. They had high hopes of improving daily life for each of them. The house is older and has potential but the issues existing are more than they could've ever imagined. The house isn't insulated well and has no opening to have it corrected.(their utilities run more than their house payment) they have an unsafe fireplace, unsafe indoor grill, lack of storage and inability to add take on anymore debt. They could benefit from an additional bathroom and a larger Kitchen. Anything would help. I do what I can but the renovations they need are far more than I can pay for.

My parents give all and ask for nothing. They raised their children and are now raising their grandchildren and caring for my brother. I have family close by that would be willing to help with the right direction. We love them very much. They are my heroes!!

  37. Hi there my name is Jeff and I'd like to nominate my wife and kids. My wife works 2 jobs taking care of the elderly at there home and at a group home. My kids I don't want them going through a ruff childhood having to move constantly and have to make friends over and over. I try everything I can to make them happy yet I feel like I failed at giving them what they need, like a warm home and water that they can drink or take a bath or shower in. I feel like a bad father cause they don't have their own bedrooms. Yet I am a bad father for having so many jobs that it's ridiculous. Me and my wife have been together for 6 years and I've been trying my hardest to give my family what they need and failed every time to the point I cry myself to sleep. If you can help my family I would be forever grateful and in debt to you to the point I will help you make someone else happy like you would have me.

  38. Hello, my name is Anna and I am pleading for your help in creating a new, functional home for me and my family. My mom has lived in this home ever since she was a child, but all the memories that she's had and the ones we are creating now could all be destroyed soon. I will not mention any names, but I will say that some family issues are creating problems in our lives, making it so that we could loose this house if it's not changed or renovated. My mom has had to put thousands in the loans, lost countless hours of sleep, and shed tons of tears to try and save this home. We could be forced out as soon as this summer. The family issues that I mentioned earlier have increased, and the person causing them has no thought on the toll that they are taking on this family. My mom can barley keep up with the lawyer payments as it is. Banks keep screwing her, and the last time they had an appraisal they dropped the amount that the house is worth to half of what it originally was. And now, the bank won't even call back to try and talk about the situation. Money is tight, and just owning the house is the first step. It is too small for three people now, the basement is cold stone with holes in the wall and visible pipes, insulation needs to be updated, the house needs to be rewired, we need to build a new roof, windows need to be replaced, and other things that are not named that need looking at. As a family, we just do not have enough money or time to fix these problems. And everything will just get a thousand times worse if we do not get a loan. My mom is backed up against a wall right now with problems hitting her on both sides. Not to mention that another person not to be named keeps pestering my mom and hurting her (not physically). Please, consider this audition. Your teams help will greatly change my family's life. Thank you for taking the time to read this.

  39. My mother has COPD and uses an inhaler and an updraft when she can get one, high blood pressure, high cholesterol and severe arthritis. My son has mild CP, wears a brace and a Bennick glove, had prenatal stroke, and suffers from seizures, and has therapy several times a week. They both are on medications for their conditions. We are 3 people living in basically a makeshift 2 bedroom very small house, 1 bathroom and that is not very functional. My son actually has one of the smallest bedrooms, and he desperately needs a bedroom of his own. The house is not even wheelchair accessible which we will need eventually. We don’t have the money to put into the house, paying my student loans of 65,000 and my other bills does not leave much to work with, I can’t get things replaced or fixed very well we don’t even have closets or doors to our bedrooms, we have one door and it is to the bathroom. We have no insulation what so ever in the house, my brother put some foam board and sheetrock up in some rooms for insulation it doesn’t work as good as we hoped. The house is not far from crumbling down around us, with the piers holding up the house starting to crumble. The floors are uneven and when you are walking from room to room you can actually feel yourself either going uphill or downhill. And the wiring, well don’t get me started there that is something else and really needs updating in the worse way. We give so much to others whenever they need it whether we have it to give or not we have big hearts and love to help others and never ask for anything in return, we help feed the kids in the summer that don’t have anything to eat and we started this year to help foster kids with toys. If you could help to give us a home big enough for all of us we would appreciate it so much. My mother has never even had a bedroom big enough for a chair and a quilt rack which she would love to have in her room along with a walk in closet to hold her clothes, and her own bathroom big enough to move around in what some people take for granted she has never had in the first place. She thinks she does not deserve to have such nice things that other people deserve it more than her. Please help ABC and Ty you are our only hope.

  40. 41. I would like to nominate my family for an extreme house makeover. I have 3 kids, which 2 still live with me and we raise our granddaughter. Me and my husband lost our house about 5 years ago due to me losing my job. We had to move in with my in laws which has not been easy. We have 8 people living in a 900 square foot home, with 3 bedrooms and 1 bath. Some of us don't have beds to sleep on and we make pallets on the floor. My husband and I have been married 19 years and he is an Army veteran and we never had a honey moon, nor have we been able to take our kids on a real vacation due to financial struggles. My husband works hard and he usually has to cash in his vacation time just so we can pay some of our bills. My family would be honored to get a home make over

  42. Hi my name is Derrick And my wife is Veronica. I am writing to extreme makeovers because I was wanting the qualifications for the Rxtreme Makeover auditions. Yes I have a story to tell but it will take so much more than a reply/comment to tell. My wife and I are 37 and have been foster/ adoptive parents since we were like 22 years of age taking in troubled children at the of 18. We have been and school and have yet to finish because we felt the need to be there for children that needed help to make it in society. As a minister I have dealt with families and children of all ages but yet have the space to continue with many more due to the lack of living space we have. We have taken in over 50 kids into our home in a 10 year span. We have one biological daughter age 14 and adopted 3 boys ages 15,16,and 18. We really want to continue helping other kids because we are good at what we do, but due to our space we can't take any others in. So when filling these slots please takemyfamily into consideration. Please feel free to contact me or anyone in our community with more about the children and families we help. Be Blessed!

  43. Hello EHM. I am writing to tell you about my mother Ester. She is currently on dialysis. My mom goes 3 times a week, She is always cold because our home has holes in the floor and walls. Our home is wood framed, and all the cold comes in. My father has worked all his life since age 14. My grandfather would take them to work in the harvest fields. At this time at 62 he works at a meat market making minimum wage. We would all like to help, but financially cannot. My brother lives in the back of the main house in a small room with his wife and 3 children. He went to the Marine Core, received his bachelors degree, but unable to get a job. I really would like my mother to live her remaining years in comfort. She is also losing her eyesight. I know we cant have everything in life just wish she could. Well Thank You and God Bless you for everything you do.

  44. Hai, my name is Maria. I'm 16 years old and currently in the 10th grade. I live with mom, bother who just turned 10, sister who is 14, and granny. We all live in a three bedroom, two bathroom trailer. My mom has a bedroom to herself, I sleep with my sister, my brother sleeps on the couch, and my granny sleeps on an uncomfortable bed. See, my mom is all by herself paying all these bills she is behind on. My granny is losing three toes sometime in January. Our house is falling apart, one after the other. It's hard taking care of four people all by yourself with only one job. Today I over heard my mom say she needs surgery but doesn't have the money. It'll probably take a miracle for you to see this, but we really need a good working house to live in. Being the oldest, it's hard to look out for my two younger siblings and my granny. I just want to make my mom and granny happy, and starting over in a new house would be perfect. For all of us.

  45. I am writing to nominate a family that I believe deserves to have an extreme makeover on their home. They own their home and the property that it is on, but they do not have the money to have a new home put there. They are very loving people that are willing to help anyone weather they know them or not, and will invite anyone into their home for a meal. They live on a fixed income, their home needs major repairs, and they do not have the money or resources to have it done themselves. She is going blind and there is nothing that the doctors can do to stop it. Her husband does everything he can to help them and her, but he was involved in an accident with a tractor that has left him unable to work. I know that they would be forever grateful if you could help them.

  46. Hi, Ty my name Jourdin and I'm from Nashville, TN. I'm 14 years old and i have a brother that is 13 years old. My mom is a hard working single parent that is just trying to provide for us. We really need the home make-over. I'm not really good at this kind of thing this is my first time but please hear me out. My brother and i are very active. i dance and he plays basketball almost everyday of the week. Our house is not terrible but it just need to be bigger because we always have family gatherings every year on christmas and thanksgiving. We have a big family and not enough space. Its hard to keep clean because we have so much and don't know where to put it because the lack of space. We need a bigger living room so we can spend more time together. We need room to have fun and hang with friends. My mom needs a room where she can go and just clear her head and have peace. We watch the show all the time an just imagine what an phenomenal job you could do to our house that could bring our family closer together. We really need your help to make our house more peaceful and fun to be at. Please Ty, help us.

  47. I have been fighting with myself whether to send a message or not. My husband (currently a Staff Sergeant in the Army Reserves) and I have 9 wonderful children the oldest of which is 13 and the youngest just 6 weeks old. Two years ago we purchased a 3700 square foot home that would actually fit our large family. Since moving in we have found many things that need to be repaired or replaced. We have found it extremely difficult to keep the baby warm enough due to poor floors, lack of insulation and our outdoor wood furnace going on the fritz.Last winter our monthly heating bills were more than double our mortgage making it extremely hard to make ends meet and still the house wasnt really warm, just passable. Last winter my husband was permantently layed off from his roofing job and the bills piled up. He has a good job now, but we are really struggling to get caught up and still stay current with normal bills. This makes it nearly impossible to do the renovations that we really hoped to have completed by now.We love our home and are so thankful for the room that it provides our children, we would just LOVE to be able to make the renovations that are so needed. My husband gets so frustrated. He works so hard, works as much overtime as he can get and still there is just not the extra funds to make the changes. Please help us!

  48. Dear EHM; I have seen all of the good that you do for families and communities. I appreciate that you are looking for families or communities in need. My mother owns her home, but after the death of my father nearly 5 years ago her home has become a permanent construction zone. There are projects that were started but, never finished. My mother's home is missing walls in some areas, has exposed flooring in the bathroom. The kitchen sink is mounted on plywood being held in place by 2×4's that are now molded and rotting. There are no steps off the back door so you have a large drop to a cement slab. She lives with several of my younger siblings, and three grandchildren. I've tried to help, but I don't know the first thing about home repairs. I myself am a single mother of a sweet angel born with a congenital heart disease. Recently my daughter lost her disability benefits, because I am working a full time job. SO with the added expenses of her medicine and equipment I can no longer afford to live alone. I will be moving in with my mother at the end of Jan. 2015. I desperately want my mothers home to be a safe place for all of the people who are residing there. I would appreciate any help that you can provide. Thank You.

I now have 2 rooms that are in a whole lot of repair beyond our control now. If you could PLEEEASE HELP us get these 2 rooms the way he's dreaming of I would be 1 HAPPY WIFE. If there's ANYTHING you can do for us, we would GREATLY APPRECIATE IT. It's been about 2 years since we started this project. 51. Hello my name is Wendy and I am writing to you about a friend of mine who lives In PA. I know that she was in a terrible car accident which has left her unable to work. She has a 10 year old son who has asthma. They currently live in a mobile home, which does not have good heating. Apparently it need to be converted to propane. The ceilings are fallen down. I do not have anymore details on the home. Was just hoping you would be kind enough to redo her house so they can have suitable living conditions. Thank you

  52. Hi, my name is Marina. I am a part of a military family in Idaho. The year my mom got pregnant we also found out my dad was going to be deployed. Ever since then my parents have lived paycheck to paycheck providing for us. I feel my parents deserve a shot at this show, because they have worked so hard and there's not enough that i can do to show them i appreciate everything they have done to push us forward and hold us together. My story may not be as touching as others, but thank you for taking the time to read.

  53. Hello, I am a 20 year old mother of 3 children. My husband and I live with his parents. He recently got diagnosed with testicular cancer and has to start chemo soon. I just finished school for cna and with three small children, I'm having trouble finding a job. His parents are unable to work, we are going through hard times, just receiving one disability check. We are living in a 2 bedroom home that's not in good condition, the piping is terrible, leaking roof and molded basement. and small for our big family. I'd love the chance to be on your show. I watch your show all the time , I cry almost every episode. God bless you all

  54. Hello my name is Wayne Rayner, we,ve been living in our house for almost 8 years and it is slowly falling apart. I am a single father raising 6 kids in a 4 bedroom house. One I have just recently gotten out of foster care because her mother was not able to care for her. My kids are crammed 2 to a room. Our upstairs bathroom's floor is rotting and we are afraid the tub might fall through. In our downstairs bathroom the ceiling had fallen out because water leaked from the upstairs bathroom and the toilet is broken and the sink does not work. We have started to fix the ceiling but cannot afford gas so we have been living with 2 pellet stoves that always need fixed and barely keep the house warm. We can't get house insurance because we need new siding and eaves troughs. I have been forced to get most of our furniture off the sides of roads or by family. My kids had to live with their grandmother a couple years ago because the house wasn't suitible for them. It's hard because I can't even afford to get my kids new clothes or everything they need. I just got layed off of my previous job and am starting a new one soon, it doesn't pay much but I have no choice, I have a shut off for my electricity and water because I can't pay the bill. My oldest daughter is turning 16 in June and I don't know how I'm going to get her a car. I just want a good home and environment for my children.

  55. When people ask me who my hero is I say my mom. She has always been my rock and my best friend.when our house burned down in 2012 I was a senior. My mom cant remember half of that day. She never replaced anything for herself. She put us kids first. My mom decided to rebuild in the same spot to later get divorced from her husband forcing us to sell the house and move. She slept on the couch for a year until the house sold. We currently live in a 3 bedroom 2 bath house with my brother and his girlfriend who is expecting, my little sister my son and my mom. My mother gave the master bed to me and my son.she still sleeps on the couch. We constantly have to watch our sewerage system because when it rains the kitchen sink and bathrooms don't drain correctly. We cant shower with the fan on because that leaks. The window over the sink had to be replace because it leaks. she has been looking for a house big enough to hold everyone. She can easily find land to buy but wont have enough money to pay for a house to go with it. She is constantly stressing over bills. I am starting school this year to get a good job and help her with the bills but its going to take time to reach that goal. So I'm asking for help from you to help her lose some of her stress problems until I can help her myself.

  56. 57. My name is Thomas and I am submitting this on behalf of my younger brother, Anthony, and his wife, Teresa. Anthony and Teresa live on Long Island, NY in a levit cape that is in desperate need of repair. My brother and his wife have two children. Michael, age 12 and Aidan, age 11. The youngest has Autism. Diagnosed in 2005, my brother and his wife have the best they can by exhausting themselves and their finances in getting Aidan the best care possible. If that was not enough of a hardship, in late 2012, Teresa was diagnosed with a very rare and debilitating blood disease called POEMS syndrome which is in the family of Myeloma (a blood cancer). There is no known cure for POEMS syndrome and the costs for treatment have beed a significant burden for my brother and his family. As you can imagine, the needed home repairs are something they simply cannot afford. I believe that my brother's family would be a great candidate for the show. It will not only help them but also bring much needed attention and awareness to Autism and POEMS Syndrome.

  61. Hello I thought I posted my audition but I cant find it. My name is Evelyn Clines I have 3 kids one boy two girls, ages 11, 15, and 16. We have a 10*56 70's model trailer, bedrooms. We all bunk together which is very difficult for teenagers going through puberty. We have been forced to rent recently. last year i spent most of my evening and night working on busted water lines. Which was hard considering I was under the trailor most of the winter. I have redone most of the electric but the fuse box. Which has the screw in fuses and they buzz and continuously go out. I noticed this this year it would have to be jacked back up and reset. It is sliding over the hill. The floors all started to fall though this year and we werer forced to rent. I put all my money and time off into trying to make this home livible and cannot. I have prayed for many years for a home for my kids I have promised for years "we will have a good home one day"? I lie yearly. They are ashamed of me and what I have provided them. They see me as a failure. They have never invited friends home because they are ashamed to. They hate to get on and off the bus, because people see where they live. I am single, work 40 to 50 hr. a week. I'm also a fulltime student at Somerset Community College, currently getting my Bussiness degreee to become a grant writter. I plan to write grants for people living on fixed incomes, for food baskets, and small home repaire. I only recive medicade and foodstamps. I dont recive govermental housing, childsupport, or welfare. We only get what I can work out. I need help. I'm loosing faith in myself as a mother. How can I be a good mother if my kids home is falling to the ground around them and unsafe? I have tried hard all a women knows to do, and I am loosing hope. Hope and faith have brough me through many years, but as I see adult hood growing in the faces of my kids and I cant seem to help them I carry a weight of failure. We would live in the home you tare down they are far more nicer then what I have been forced to live in dew to lack of money. I have tried really, but have no where else to trun. Please help me. Or provide me with the right dircetions to help.
    Sincercely
    Desperate Mother

  63. Hi. My name is Danielle Gaines. I want to make a request that my mother, Mary Mills be given the chance of a lifetime to have a home makeover. My mom is a very hard worker. From the time my dad left the house when I was a baby, she did a great job of taking care of me and my other two siblings. When I was ten my mom was able to move us out of the projects into a home that she is working on owning. The house has been slowly falling apart the past years. She has always said that she would love to re-do the home. Even when she had 3 jobs there was just too many bills. I would love to be able to do something for her to show her how much we love her and appreciate all that she has done for us. It would not only make her dream come true, but it would also make my dream of seeing her be happy come true!

  64. I am currently living in Avon Park, Florida with a 75 yr old veteran. His house is in need of a overhaul. My boyfriend and I have been working on this on our own, but we have no money or jobs. I go to school full time. Please call me. I have more information but it is hard to put this in words. Please call me or give some leads on how to help this man out without putting him in harms way. The house is not fit to live in, but we have no other means.

  65. hey my name is kodie and my dad is disabled and cant really get around his small house. he also had a tree fall on his almost 12 years ago and broke his back. he has always dreamed of living in a log cabin and I was hoping that you guys could help us out for not just him but for me and my little brother we all frezze every night when its could cause this house is not built right and it does not have anything to help keep heat in the house. so please ty come help my dad out and help make his dream come true. I have also always wanted to come work for you guys and meet you guys. thank you guys for you time

  66. My dad is on dyalisis and Is blind and my mom works 2 jobs trying to afford the house payment. My dad is unmoblie and our house is barely liveable. We have no heat and water.

  67. My name is Shelby Schnurstein. I am the daughter of Troy and Emily Schnurstein. Unfortunately, I am an only child. I am a miracle, considering my mother has had six miscarriages. In November of 2014, a little over a month ago, our house burnt to the ground. Not just the part of the house, but the only thing left are some of the cement walls. From the earliest I can remember my family has been working their hardest on giving me all they can and what they can for the family. This not only includes having food on the table and me having school supplies, it also includes having usable vehicles, and having enough money for bills. My dad and I are big into working on vehicles and are pretty outgoing people. We just got our 76 Chevy Short box step side running with a new motor we put in ourselves. I guess it's the time spent on things that are just automatically gone and you can never have them back. Maybe it hurts so much because we lost our dog and I can not even remember the last thing I said to her. We lost so many prized possessions. We lost all of the things I myself made in woods class, all of our clothes, and all of our vehicles besides two. We did not lose those two vehicles because one was parked at the school while I rode the bus down to State Volleyball and my parents had the other vehicle. We also lost two brand new rebuilt transmissions that cost us $1,400. The point is, my parents have worked very hard for what we owned and cared deeply for what we lost.

  69. Hi my name is Shawna I work for Hospice of the East Bay, I work at the Bruns House in Alamo CA which is a non-profit facility where patients come to spend their last days and can have unlimited visitors 24/7 we have room for up to 6 patients at a time, we also are located in a residential area and are in a normal looking home so our patients, family and friends can feel at home in a very hard time of their life. we also have nurses, Aids and Doctors available 24/7 to keep them pain free as much as possible.
although the house is very nice there is A LOT of work that needs to be done like our plumbing is always backing up, we have a problem with our water where we can only get hot or cold never both which makes bathing our patients difficult, there is always something going on with our electrical. Right now we just found out in most of our rooms the outlets aren't working so we cant plug in our medical equipment in most of the outlets, our foundation is slipping in some areas so we are starting to see dips in our hallways which is a hazard for anyone walking and also making our doors be off and constantly having to be fixed so there is no gaps and cold air is coming in. There is so much more that needs to be fixed and getting the money for repair is very hard since we are non profit, I would hate for everything to just get out of control to where we would have to close down. I really hope you guys can help my company out it would be so nice to have it all fixed up and up to compliance.

  71. Hello EHM, I am writing to nominate the family of a coworker of mine. He works really hard, and he and his wife have three kids at home. His wife recently had to go on disability do to an auto-immune disease and their 5-year-old son has autism. The apartment that they live in was just condemned because raw sewage leaked through the pipes and ruined their clothes and furniture and they are having to stay in his Son's tiny apartment. This is an incredibly nice family. My coworker has a big heart and keeps a positive attitude through it all. Please help this family!!!

  72. PLEASE go to Facebook and search "Cards for Dusty," to read the story of Dusty Hardee. I have never met Dusty however he has touched so many lives this Holiday Season. I know that all Dusty wanted for Christmas was cards and to help Santa buy gifts by picking names of several needy children from an Angel Tree. Please read about Dusty's disabilities and his mother who alone cares for Dusty. Thank you!!!!

  73. I was wondering if you ever have thought about or perhaps have built a home for chronic pain sufferers. I have chronic migraines and suffer almost daily now. its gotten to the point where i can no longer go to school or work out of the home. I have so many triggers and they have tried so many different therapies and pain medications. I dont have quality of life and its not fair to my family to see me suffering like this. I know there are so many deserving people out there but it sure would be nice to see you come up with something like this where the home would be migraine proof. The air quality is so important in the home and Ive seen you do similiar things. Please help me because I dont know what to do anymore
