  3. Hello my name is Jennifer Przybyla. I live in Mariposa,ca. My husband, myself and our son live in a house built on land that came from my husband's father. He has since passed away. My husband and I moved in here after his x-wife had lived here for 8 yrs, just destroying the property. We moved in June of last year, the house is a disaster. My husband was shortly diagnosed with cancer after we moved in. He's been in the ICU for 2 mos and we are still not sure when he is coming home. I cannot afford to do anything to this property, except pay for it. Our son is 5 and this whole cancer situation has been terrible on him. At this point I don't know if he's going to make it. This property is special because it's been in the family for 3 generations. This property may be the only thing my son will have to remember his daddy by. Any help you can give would be greatly appreciated, please consider our family. Thank you TY xoxo

  4. I live on two acres in The Old Mines Concessions Cadet MO in a three bedroom house built in the 1970s. I live here with my elderly mom and my dog. My deceased dad and my mom designed and had a couple guys help them build this house onto one of the old log rooms that was here from when the miners came here to mine tiff from France. There is a well house with well water and a barn that my dad and mom also built. The very first log cabin that was built here is down on the church grounds because my dad donated it as a part of history. Anyway it all seems neat but there are some things about this house that need repair repair and sometime I just wish I could dose it down and build a new one. First the moisture especially in raining season because we are sort of in a wet area so water sits under the house causing a mold problem and the floor is rotting and the walls are shifting. Every now and then you'll hear a thump and it is the wall falling through the rot. The ceiling in the hall also sweets everyday meaning I have to turn on the attic fan. The carpets are old and need replaced. The paneling is so dark and there are not ceiling lights in every room but we have lamps so it is depressing me to live here. The house also has a lot of wear as my mom and dad had 10 children and several grandchildren along with relatives and friends in and out for years. This house is big stress on my mom and I want to help her because she deserves to enjoy life in a beautiful new home so I'm asking you to please pick us for extreme home makeover. We do have a dream for the ideal house for us to live in and it would be a brighter home with more room because we are also cramped up with no closet space or storage space. I am in music and would love a music room and I'm sure my mom has her own ideas. Wed love to have an extreme makeover.

  5. My mama needs this so bad. She tries to take care of all her children. We love in a 14 by 14 ft trailer with 9 people. There's so many problems in her home. She an barely cook for us bc it's always so hot in there bc the air doesn't work good at all. When she washes clothes she has to run the water in washer with the water hose. She has no pressure on the water. We have to take bathes behind each other c of he water. When she washes clothes or dishes everything runs outside. She needs some help I'm not asking for a lot. The house is so small and it also has some mildew and mold. She tries so hard but fails at times. I want her happy and to just see her happy and enjoy a home before its to late. Please help her.

  6. My beautiful selfless friend "sweet melissa" desperately needs your help. I mean extreme, like xxxxxtreme!!!!!

  7. Hi my name is Kenneth Sandusky. First and foremost, I am in no way related to Jerry Sandusky. For those who know who he is. I'm 20 years old and from Dexter, Missouri. Not really sure where I should start so I'll just make this short and sweet. I grew up in a separated house. Parents are divorced. So that led to a bunch of moving around and a bunch of "New Beginnings". My dad retired out of the military and my mom worked all the time. I have two older brothers Tony Sandusky and Joshua Sandusky. Never been separated from them in my life. Until the end of my 7th grade. Moved to LaFayette, Georgia with my mom. Felt like I was all alone. My mom worked all the time and I didn't have my brothers. My oldest brother joined the marines and I barely saw him anymore. My older Josh bounced back and forth from living with my dad in Missouri. To living with me and my mom in Georgia. Then 2 years ago, a week before Christmas, I awoke to a phone call saying my older brother Josh died in a tragic house fire. I lost it. My brother whom I grew up with, whom I've never lived without, was gone. Just like that. The house fire burned our house in Missouri completely to the ground. Everything from baby pictures to articles of clothing. Everything. We didn't have any insurance nor did we have life insurance. So not only were we left with gaping holes in our hearts, we were left penniless and without a home. I ended up moving down to Florida to live with my oldest brother. But worrying about my dad all the time started to take a toll on me. So I moved back to Missouri. My dad ended up buying a RV that we parked on our land and pretty much live out it. But my dad doesn't know that I'm contacting you guys but I have no clue what else to do. We don't have enough money to afford another house, or to afford lumber or anything to build a house. I go from sleeping on my bestfriends moms couch to a couch in an RV. I haven't had my own bed in over 2 years. And right now I'm living out of a duffel bag. But thank you for taking the time to read this. Your help would be greatly appreciated.

  8. Hi my name is Kenneth Sandusky. First and foremost I am in no way related to Jerry Sandusky. Just so we can clear the air. But I am from Dexter, Missouri. And I'm not to sure where to start. Let me start from the beginning. When I was young my parents got divorced. Which caused me to move around a lot. But no matter what my parents were always there for me and my two older brothers, Josh Sandusky, and Tony Sandusky. Didn't really have a lot but what we had, we shared and was thankful. Jumping forward a little bit to high school. I had to move to LaFayette, Georgia. First time in my life I had to leave my brothers. I was 15 and didn't have my older brothers to help me from being bullied or to ask for help on my homework. And my mom worked in a factory at all hours of the day. Then my oldest brother, Tony, ended up joining the marines and went into basic so I never really got to see him much. And my older brother Josh bounced back and forth from living with me and my mom in Georgia, to living with my dad in Missouri. But 2 years ago, a week before Christmas, I woke up to a phone call saying my brother Josh had passed away in a house fire. I kinda went off the really deep end. I didn't know what to do. Non of us knew what to do. My brother whom I was with almost every single day of my life, was gone just like that. So needless to say I haven't really enjoyed Christmas like I use too. The house fire took almost everything me, my dad and brothers ever had. And we had no insurance on the house, nor did we have life insurance on my brother. So not only are we left with a huge gaping hole in our hearts, but we are also left with nothing. My dad went and bought an RV and parked it on our land and we have been sleeping in it. But I just recently moved back to Missouri because I was worried about my dad and I missed him. But that's a little bit of my story. Thank you for your time. And if you read this. My dad has no clue I'm doing this. Thank you.

  9. Hello my name is Hannah(16), I live in California. I live with my mom (Kathryn, 45), my autistic brother (Patrick,29 mentally 3), my uncle (Ray, 49), my Grandmother (Bobbie, 76) and Grandfather (William, 79). As you can tell that is several people for one home. There is 3 bedrooms, and 6 people. I currently share a room with my mother in the living room. We do not have an AC, and money has been a struggle. My father abandoned me when I was 2. My mom has taken care of my brother and I. In California, there is extreme heat, and we do not have a AC. It would be a dream come true to have my own room. My brother as said has autism rips up my books and clothes, so I have to keep thing hidden. We also have to keep a lock of the fridge to keep him out of it because everything is so compact for a family of 6. It would be a DREAM come true to have my own room. Please help us!

  11. I purchased a property at the Orangeburg County delinquent tax sale in South Carolina and didn't even realize what it was. I had acquired almost 6 acres of land with two ponds and a community center. The person who tried to develop his dream for this blighted community never had the resources to finish the property. I would love to see this dream finished in a senior center or community center that would provide service to a community that could use a hand up.

  13. Hi Hellen. My name is Cory Tracy I am 27 yrs old living here in Las Vegas with my 9 month old daughter Selene and her mother my soul mate Ashley. The house we live in was bought by my step father Robert Morris. It was for Selene. About 2 months ago, we had a run in with both bathrooms and toilets over flowing with water and nastyness. My parents own the house and were willing to pay to get this fixed. So we called Mr Rooter and when they showed up it started a whole thunderstorm off horribleness. They 1st quoted us and over priced everything. When they noticed upstairs was gutted out they asked if they could call in guy they new that could come in and contract the job. My parents said yes, and Damon Henderson was called in. After Mr. Rooter left giving us the estimate on fixing the job, Damon came with a nother proposal for doing the upstairs and do the entire bathroom upstairs. Long story short, job after job,, nothing got completed around the house and the jobs that I thought were done were not done right at all, in fact Damon is long gone, MIA and he wasnt even a real licensed contractor. My step father Rob is into the job for over $30 grand!!! That was taken out of his retirement funds… I feel horrible, living in a non complete house with my daughter knowing her grand father wont be able to retire happily. I want so much to help and get the house done right, so I am hoping you can help with the connections you have.

  14. Hi. We are living in an old ranch on 4 acres here in MN. Instead of an empty nest we adopted 2 more children, We have been through the ringer with our youngest kids. They both have attachment/PTSD issues. Despite the challenges we have never regretted adding to them to our family.
Right before we finalized the adoptions I underwent lower back surgery. The surgeon felt it a success, but I ended up spending a month in the hospital. I came home in a wheelchair, & spent almost 2 years with a walker. I am better, but live in constant pain.
Unfortunately our house has suffered while I have been down. We knew our home would need many repairs when we bought it, but never imagined that I would become unable to work on things myself. Having to pay for those repairs isn't feasible. Spring flooding has required us to gut the basement. Leaving quite a mess.
Despite the struggles we are having, we would love to be able to open our home up to more children. Our present situation doesn't allow us to do that.
Thanks for considering this. God Bless

  15. I was going to ask for help as we started to build our dream home put every penny I had Into it as it is all framed out as my husband is a contractor and business got slow and we have no money to finish it and had to tell our children and their hearts broke as mine did seeing their faces as I told them we will not be able to move into the house that they watched go up but after reading such sad stories of people asking you for help I feel blessed that we have our health and each other you have a hard decision in choosing a family to help wish you could help them all god bless those families and thank you for the ones you have .

  16. Hello, my name is Allison. A few days ago my place of employment caught on fire. It hit the community hard. It's not just where I work, it also happens to be a fire department. It has been around for years upon years. A lot of well respected men and women lost there home away from home. They risk their lives everyday for other people and now they are lost knowing that the place that made them feel proud, brave, and special was burned down right before their eyes. The fire destroyed half the building. The half that made them money to keep the trucks running. They don't get paid to do what they do, they do it because it's what they feel needs to be done. So I am asking you to give these brave men and women their second home back. Give this whole community their firefighters back. A fire can happen to anyone, so please fix the place that helps people from losing their homes. They volunteer to keep you safe and save your home and assets. I'm just asking you to return the favor for them.

  17. Hi my name is Jimmy, my grandfather lives in Berwick, pa with my aunt, he has lived there sence 1965, about 10 years ago my grandmather had a stroke. With taking care of her he hasn't had much time to work on the house or the garage, then about 2 years ago she passed away. He is a WW2 veteran and he will 93 in october. He doesnt have much money and I'm not sure how long he is going to be with us, but it would really help him if the house and the garage could be fixed up.

  18. hello my name is chelsy. i currently live in Naples Fl, with my three children and my mother. recently my middle child JahNailee which is 3yrs old was recently diagnosed with a rare condition of allergies and Atopic dermatitis. she was born a healthy beautiful baby girl. a few weeks after birth eczema started to appear on her body, then started the allergies, one by one. it all started with a protein allergy to milk, then as she started to grow, things have just been going down hill. she has had 2 kidney failures in the last 2yrs. she has become allergic to 100% of outdoors. she can enjoy most outdoors activities but not very long due to her allergies can she be outside. allergies start from concrete to all trees, grass, weed and just all around outdoor air. she is allergic to about 75% of all foods from anything with dairy product eggs, milk, cheese etc. Anything that has nuts peanuts, almonds, cashew, walnuts, pecans any type of fish all fish just the aroma from NUTS & FISH makes her stop breathing just in one year alone we have had 6 moments when her air way has closed and stopped her from breathing she can not eat anything that has any type of SOY soybean soy oils anything made with soy she can not enjoy fruits such as BANANAS,STRAWBERRIES,KIWI,GRAPES,ORANGES. she can not enjoy sweet potatoes any bean from the white bean family. she can not eat anything from onions, garlic, mustard, any many other erbs anything tomato based her choices in fruits and veggies are very limited. she is allergic to 50% of indoor she is allergic to any leather, any adhesive, mold mildew, dust in the air, wool, alcohol all soaps, body washes, detergents. her body can only be bath in spring water and we have well water. she can only bath in organic oats or take bleach baths because of her skin conditions which can cause her to itch a lot. therefore that leads her to scratch her skin open and can get staff infections. it makes it hard on our family. i had to move back home with my parents to help me out with her care. she is not able to go to daycare or any school because of her conditions. everything is limited for us as a family my other 2 children ages 5 and 1 can not enjoy there lives because we are so focused on tending to JahNailee's needs she has to be taken 200+ miles away from home to go to the nearest children's hospital, which started out to miami childrens hospital, which she just wasn't getting any better and now going to tampa, fl childrens hospital, where now they will start treating her to get the proper care that she needs. not that miami chidrens hospital wasn't, there was no more they could do for her at her age. taking her to a public park is not safe due to germs. this is a difficult situation, but we are fighting for jahNailee to get better and with your help, some way she can go outside to play. she is our bubble baby. i am pleading for your help to come and help my family give us a healthy backyard for my baby girl and her siblings to go outside an play like a normal child. so please can you help my family ….

    Thank You, Chelsy.

  20. My dad was diagnosed with Type I I diabetes over 25 years ago. Over the past few years he has swiftly declined. He now can barely walk from his chair, to the bathroom, and to his bedroom. My mom spends most of her time caring for my dad. She has her own health issues, having epilepsy as a child and recent hernia surgery. Over the years their small ranch has suffered from neglect. The foundation is cracked, the paint is chipping, you can see the outside through the window frames,it needs a new roof and the interior hasn't been upgraded in years. I am very worried about my mom when my dad goes. They are both retired and she is not going to have the money or the stamina to fix up the house. She loves this home and it would be perfect for her when the unfortunate day comes and she is living on her own. My brother and I have been blessed with wonderful parents. We had the best childhood. Unfortunately we are not able to help them financially. I would love for my dad to know that my mom could stay in the house and for them both to see their beloved ranch habitable. Thank you in advance for any consideration .

  22. I am writing to you not for myself but for a family in my community that could use your help. I know of a girl named Ashlyn who has just started 4th grade. She has extreme Eczema and many allergies. I am her PE teacher at school. Ever since Kindergarten I have got to witness how the breakout on her skin has affected her day at school each and every day. She very seldom is able to wear tennis shoes to participate in PE because her feet are to broke out. She will spend hours a day scratching her skin until it is bleeding. She has tried multiple creams, steroids and medications. Nothing has completely helped this girl in the 4 years I have been her teacher. Just seeing what she goes thru every day at school has motivated me to find some help for her. At school kids don't want to hold her hand and each year the teasing and comments get worse. I looked into what is causing her to not get better. I found out the house she lives in is full of black mold. That is one thing her doctors say she can't be around. Her mom is a hard working single mom of three kids. When I have asked her why she doesn't get the mold taken care of or even move she says she can't afford to. Like I said she is a working mother trying to do what is best for her daughter. I do know Ashlyn has been to several doctors but nothing clears her completely up. I am willing to help get my community involved in helping extreme home makeover create her a home she is safe to live in. I am reaching out to you today because Ashlyn was not in school on Friday and when I asked why it is because she might have to go to the hospital because her skin is very broke out and she is running a fever. I do know in the four years I have been her PE teacher she has missed lots of school because of her skin and has been hospitalized one time. I really would like to Help you and your crew make a difference that will last a lifetime for Ashlyn. Thank you for your time to consider Ashlyn for your extreme home makeover.

  25. Hello I'm writing this to recommend a friend that needs help. On August 2,2014 her family was in a car accident that took the life of her 5 year old son. Her 6 year old daughter and 2 year old son are paralyzed. Our small community has been raising money for them since the father is the only source of income and was also injured and will not be able to return back to work for some time. But they live in a single wild mobile home which is going to be very hard for them to be able to move around with to children in wheelchairs and have some kind of normal life for these sweet babies. Please if you can help them an any way please do so they are they best people and going through such a hard time right now.

  26. I am just one of the volunteers at our local EMS here in Philippi WV. We have been serving our community in our current building for over 30yrs. The county commission has recently given the property with our building to the squad, but it is in need of major repairs. We only have enough bays to park five out of seven ambulances at this time. We have been doing our own fundraising but can only do this twice a year which helps but still doesn't cover most building maintenance. Our board of directors is doing everything they can to attept to either find a way to rebuild or find new land and start fresh but we are not going very far at this time. We serve our community with much pride & dedication, & love what we do! I am hoping that you can help our dream to get a new building or at least help us fix the one we have now. You see, our wash bay (though still able to use it) has mold beginig to grow on some areas of the walls. In another bay, when it rains, we have lots of water running through the rear of the building which causes a slip hazard for everyone. We have both paid staff & many other volunteers who stay over night but most sleep on the couches in the day room due to not having enough room for bunk rooms for either males or females. We have a super small kitchen & a few of us love to cook for everyone here when possible. In the winter (especially the past two) our electric has went out which in turn kept us from being able to use our radios or phones due to not having a backup generator. We also had no heat due to our LP tank running out. Again, we love our jobs, take this very seriously and pray we will be here for many more years. Is there anyway you can help us help our community better? We would greatly appreciate anything you can do. Thank you and God bless you all!

  27. Hi my name is Tina I live in a house with my husband my two beautiful girls and my mother and father in law. My in-laws have lived in this house for almost 40 years but it has fallen into extreme disrepair. Holes in the walls wiring that is not even up to code the only reason any of this has happened is due to extreme health conditions. My mother in law marie has battled lung cancer twice and was involved in a horrific car accident that left her in a coma for 3 monthes she is bound to a wheelchair and this house is not with the ability to.allow her to move around the house. My father in law is currently in the icu due to a massive heart attack and is breathing by support. This man served 25 years in the army and was in Vietnam twice shot in battle and still came home to train hundreds of men and every single one came back alive. Theyve given a home to dozens of people over the years because they had no place to go. Theyve been giving to the community for over 4 decades. They took us in with my two children because we needed a place to go and they needed help for my mother in law. My oldest daughter has a heart condition called svt and it left us with the decision of heart surgery last April that had failed and nearly left her with a pacemaker. My youngest developed epilepsy and has been having seizures quite often. Me and my husband are unable to work because we have to care for the two kids and my inlaws. Our furnace broke this year and we dont have the money to get a new one. They are 4 years from this house being paid off and its looking like we wil end up losing it before we have that time. Please please help my family I dont want them to lose the only home they have ever known. They deserve to be shown the good in life.like they have shown so many

  28. Hello my name is Jesse Williman my parents live in a one story house that was built in the 50's. The insulation and air conditioning is not very good and the house has more repairs than there is money. There is probably asbestos in the house and with my mothers lung condition it is dangerous to her health. My father is self-employed at the age of 60 and all of his money has had to be put into the business so that he does not have a retirement fund and the bills are just pulling up. My Mother is one of the oldest living cystic fibrosis patients in the USA that I know of she also has diabetes and is in and out of the hospital very 6 months. Most days it is all my mother can do to just get out of bed and take her breathing treatments. My father has been having to cook dinner for him and my mother when he gets home from work. They are probably the most giving parents that I could ask for and now they are having a very ruff time trying to live in there home. 30. Hello my name is Valencia and I live in Silver Spring, Maryland. I was watching the news last Thursday and heard that a war veteran's home was burned down in Laytonsville in Montgomery County Maryland. My heart goes out to this family and I'm hoping that their home could be rebuilt for them. The veteran is Captain Edward Klein who served in Afghanistan. I don't know how long he served his country but he was injured, he stepped on a roadside bomb and now he's a triple amputee. When he came home from Afghanistan he was being treated from his injuries at Walter Reed Hospital. I don't know this family at all but I'm hoping I can help them get a new home. He served his country and made it possible for us to have freedom. If he can do that for us with no complaints why can't we help him. Thank you

  31. I like to have a new home because MY Daughter and I have Epileps.in I will be love to have you all here. Love Miranda,Carrie,David Nolen

  32. Hello, my name is Kelsey. I am a 20 year old woman who is currently expecting my first child. I understand that most people have bigger problems than I do; I just wanted to take a chance. I was going to school a year ago when I was in a dangerous relationship. I quit my job, quit college and moved back in with my parents. I tried to get back on my feet for awhile. Id gotten a waitressing job at a bar, and made it on my own enough to afford an apartment by myself. Then I met the love of my life and he moved in with me. At first it was hard because he had just moved back home as well, so it was extremely difficult paying for two and trying to stay on my feet. About six months later we were finally starting to do better. We both had lower class jobs and were trying to save up money so we could move to a place that we both would enjoy. Then I found out I was pregnant. I'm now I'm my second trimester; and after I told my boss I was pregnant he fired me. Which is illegal, but he just told them I was incompetent. So now my fantastic boyfriend is trying to support me. It was difficult with both our incomes. You can imagine how it is now. Nobody else will hire me right now because of my situation and I'm due in march. I can't even nest the way I should. I wanted to decorate my baby room and make everything perfect but I'm going to get evicted soon and I'll have to move back in with my parents. Like I said, other people have way more important situations. So I understand completely. I just need a little help. Thank you for your time.

  35. Well, my story is a little different from the norm on your show. quick synopsis. A very good friend of mine bought this property which included rv park marina and restaurant. He bought it to help a friend out of foreclosure. He leased the restaurant, got raked over the coals by the lessee, started to redo the place, ran into countless problems from building dept because of prior owners. Finally had everything almost done, including new equip for restaurant! The new person that was supposed to run it, well, found out she was an alcoholic and had a friend help her burn the place down!! Now looking to rebuild but not sure insurance will cover it all. To top it all off, the owner has leukemia and he is just intent on seeing this place reopen and succeed before he dies

  36. Hello I'm Joseph, I grow up, with one disabled dad, and
a Mother, who over the years took care of us, and dad. I
can't image what that was like, she on top of that with very low income, still took in kids who had no where to go, but still made sure we came, and made them feel like family. Working in the outside or cleaning, and but the same time listening when we had problems, just make time for us. She disabled now, and still so minutes problems with the house, she touch the heart of so many. For more information contact me, I have video and other stuff, and she never has time for your self even now. Thank you for what you do, no matter who pick.

    A Fan
    Joseph.

  37. My name is Barbara Spradlin I have been married to my husband David of 20 years .We have 5 children ..4 are still at home Desiree , Marcus , Dustan and Alexus Spradlin.Last October what started out as potassium problems and now current I have been hospitalized 20 times ..I had go have a permanent IV port placed in the right side of my chest that resulted in a blood clot in my juggler vein in my neck .The hospital and Doctors walked away from me when I got the blood clot.I was lucky another Hospital agreed to take me and replace the port! .Well because the left side port clotted and had to be removed so just 2 days ago I had another port placed in the left side. The potassium destroyed the strength in the right side which placed me in a wheel chair along with the blood clot that can never be touched leaving me on blood thinner the rest of my life. We sold our home last November and what was suppose to be the money to build us a home my illness and hospital stay drained are money because my Husband has been unable to work due to having to care for me due to my potassuim from some odd reason dropping to 2.4 which is very low and a blood clot.I have now finally found help through the state to pay for a care taker so my husband can go back to work .So now the home we are currently renting the Land lord is asking us to move so he can use the house to house his mexican farm hands .My husband is an excellent carpenter so work is not a problem however we do not have the funds to build a home and he hasn't had enough income in the last year to finance one .So I feel like this is all my fault my illness has ripped away everything including my families happiness. We found a tiny house to move in to but its not handicap assessable and needs a lot of work . I am 41 years old and I feel like the burden I have placed on my family is horrible. We truly hit rock bottom hard all because of me.My family has had to help us to pay the bills because my husband has been unable to leave me plus he has had to be both father and mother to the kids.My kids have had to step up and help their dad with the meals , laundry and dishes ..My 11 year old does dishes and helps clean when she should be enjoying life.Everything in our lives have changed I was the mom that did it all and now they have to do it all..I am a Pentecostal and I even had to ask God why this had to happen to my family. I just feel that I let my family down..so I decided to write to you for help not for me but for my family .They deserve to have a home they deserve to enjoy life again with their friends not taking care of me and doing house work.I have never asked anyone for anything ever and I wouldn't now but my family is suffering because I got sick.I know they love me because they never complain but I would just love to be independent and be able to take care of them again from my power chair not stuck in a corner somewhere watching them do it all .I would love to have an open concept home where I can see everything my family does and continue to watch them grow up that's made for a handicap person like me .I know you have tons of people who need help because when I did ministry work I also helped a lot of people .So I know the need so thank you for your consideration . God Bless Barbara

  38. Hello my name is Judy and I have a friend that is desperate need of a new home makeover. She has seven (7) children ages 10 to 3 months. Her husband is the town veterinarian and is not home much because he is very busy. We live in a very small town and making a living is very hard to do here.
The home they have is currently in pretty bad shape. It was built and used for several different businesses. Now they are trying to remodel it into a home and a business. However, they do not have the money nor the people to help them. Currently her father is trying to do it by himself and it is not happening.
The outside is all torn off with the siding off show insulation and the plastic along with bare walls. The inside is not much better and the living area appears no better than a hermits cabin in the mountains.
Please help this family as winter is coming and with a lot of windows out and no real insulation on the outside as well as the roof leaks. This is a real nightmare.
    Thank You

  41. Hello, my request is not for a home, it's for an art studio for a group of very deserving artists who have given so much to their community. Yet, even though they dedicated years of their lives to creating a local non-profit studio, through changes in the management who have no idea the history they are displacing, these artists are, once again, without a place to call their "home".

They are some of the most dedicated, giving, honest, not to mention talented, people I have ever met, and yet balancing the demands for rent + required volunteer time within narrow four hour windows of time has resulted in their being evicted from their studios. Studios they personally spent years developing for use by the entire community. My heart aches for them, that their commitment and talent was so easily dismissed.

They are starting over, what choice to they have? The leader agreed that I can handle business transactions for them, as most of them hate paperwork. I found a space for them to start over. It's perfect, because there is a historic mill undergoing revitalization to beautiful condos just a block behind it. It's on a major state road with lots of visibility. It's in the geographic area convenient to them. It's in the community where they've lived their lives, so they have history here. It's very like the arts buildings in the Asheville, NC River Arts District, and the city has restricted future businesses in that corridor to similar businesses. It's a unique mix of potential and history that suits them so well.

But, it's a shell. The plumbing is there, but the sinks and toilets have been torn out. The upstairs right corner burned, and it's not been properly repaired. Some windows, and a back door need replacing. I can see it as what it can be, but they need space now, and nobody in the group has money for that type of investment upfront. We have been offered four months free rent if we do the plumbing. I want to do more than that. I am afraid, to get a business license so these artists' works can be insured, more than that will have to be done. I am thinking, if we find a way to do more, maybe they have a shot at buying this place instead of renting, so they (most in their 60s) finally have a true arts home that they can call their own.

If you met them, saw their work, knew their stories, knew their dedication to their art, you'd want to do more, too. They deserve it. This community deserves to know the value of their artists and their history. It's a story that needs to be told.

Being creative people with vision, I think you may understand what I am saying. Your vision would probably be so much more beautiful than mine. I know you have resources I couldn't begin to match. It would be such a blessing for them to be able to finally have an art home where they could create without the struggle of starting from scratch, again. They will, of course, but I so hope that their energy and passion can be put into their work, and not their studio.

You have such passion, too. I know you can see the value of inspiring these artists to be all that they can be. I hope you respond soon.

Thank you for all the love and positive energy you have put into the world. It's a very, very good thing.

  42. We own a small spanish style home in Bakersfield California. This was one of the first homes built in the 20's in a small place best known as "Oildale". While this house is cute as can be, it needs more help than we are physically or financially able to do ourselves. Our kids are helping us as much as they are able but unemployment has hit us hard and we need wiring, a roof, subflooring, and well your help to keep this adorable small house from falling apart. We've qualified for a program to help us make payments but it can't help us with repairs and if the drought ends it will be raining in doors as well as out! We are in trouble out here in California. We've used our retirement funds up just to survive to this point and we're like the rest of America trying to hang on here through these rough times. The 4 of us are praying for a miracle (two adult kids living in back apartment adorable also)in the form of an Extreme Makeover!

We have moved 3 different times already, well we were just basically left a house that his family were living in let's just say they trashed the house.. There are leaks, holes in the walls, nasty smelly carpets, both porches need to be torn down.. The cabinets in the kitchen and bathroom are missing doors, the whole house basically needs to be redone. The past 3 years have been rough on us, before we got married we had our 1st son who was born very early and he lived for seven hours and then passed away, then our 2nd son was born. After I had him my mom died and we had to move to a another house due to mold, we just had our 3rd son who was born a month early but is doing great! Really over the last 3 years we have had it rough and in 2 months we have to be out of where we are living now, and with us being on a tight income I don't know if we will have a place to live. Really my main thing is we have never had something nice to call our own, also I want the very best for my kids and i will do anything to give them that. Please come help us, we don't have much time and it would mean the world to me and my family. Thank you so much for taking the time to read this

  50. Dear extreme makeover,
I watch your show all the time. What a wonderful thing you do for so many deserving family. I really don't know how to ask this but just to come out with it. I am a single mother, Gauge(20) Taylor(19) Sydney(16) and Stephen(11). I am currently unemployed and have been for some time now. Me and my ex-husband started a house in 2007 at the time I managed the best ever paint contracting crew. We had started the house when the economy was great. It was hard painting so many beautiful homes and go how to a mobile home that the roof leaked among other things. Well shortly after we started laying the floor (crawl space) the market started dropping. Well remember I said I had the best crew ever well I talked to a couple of members of the crew who had previous framing experience to see if they could frame my house. After hearing that the could and would I approached the remaining crew members I asked them all if I could pay them their regular hourly pay to help at the homesite I drew up the blueprints a 5 bedroom 21/2 bath 3000sqft. We got started and before you knew it we had it all dried in. Well in 2010 I went through my second divorce. Well last year me and the kids found ourselves having to move into this house. No air conditioning no heat no bathroom no water. We pulled extension cords for power walked down to my parents which is approximately an eighth of a mile to brush our teeth take a bath use the toilet(when we didnt use the bathroom I called it using the woods) even to eat. My oldest was approximately 13 when the house was started and at the time his comment was it will never be finished before I graduate. Lil did.I know he was right. Its going on the third year after his high school graduation. I'm a very proud person who doesnt know what to do or where to turn. I need your help please.
    Sincerely,

    Pleading for.a helping hand

  51. My name is Tammy, my husband is Ken and we have two amazing boys, Kash (4) and Kollin (1.6) We recently moved into our dream home in West Chester, Pennsylvania. Since the move our children and I have had continuous medical problems because of the air quality in the house. This Reno isn’t about what looks good, it would allow my boys and I to move back home again. Ken and I love spending time with family and helping others. For the last 6 years we have been blessed to provide respite services for children with special needs. Due to the concerns with our new home this hasn’t been possible. We have spent a lot money on special testing (all levels are in normal range) and remodels, still with on relief in sight. Ken is an engineer and I am an out-patient mental health therapist. Ken enjoys working in the yard and finding ways to recycle materials for other purposes. For myself, I take great pride in my work and find my peace in my boys as they play. We don’t need anything fancy, just the ability to live comfortably in our home. Thank you for taking the time to read this and perhaps helping us to resolve these problems. As my Dad, also says, “Do what you can and pray a lot.” And this is what we will continue to do until we are back together.
    Blessings,
    Tammy

  52. Hello, my name is Amber.. I live with my boyfriends family in Saginaw, MI. This isnt for me, this is for my boyfriends Mom, Sharon. I was homeless in NY before I came here, and they took me in, even though they had nothing. Sharon is a hero. She works two part time jobs that are awful and stress her out beyond imagine. She works at Mcdonalds and a Low grade Pet shop, barely making over minimum wage. She works non stop and still always struggles to even pay one bill. She's always behind on house payments and she hates that she can never buy her kids anything for christmas and birthdays. She has 4 kids, one is a 23 year old and autistic. Shes struggled with people stealing from her, and people taking advantage of her. No matter how far behind she is on house payments and how hard she is struggling, she always ALWAYS helped me. I have a dog, Pepper, who has a compromised Immune System, and she's paid over 200 in vet bills that she really didnt have money for.. Plus she always buys me things when I need it. She can never support any of us and yet she works NON STOP. She has no life other than working herself to death and I hate seeing it. The house is falling apart, and too small for everyone here. No one has anything nice… All of our beds are stained and springs sticking out, and everything is just beyond repair. Sharon always does things for me, and everyone else just screws her over. I just lost my job and sunk into a horrible depression, yet she always tries to help me. Sharon can never keep food in the house stocked, and any day our electric is getting shut off. I want to give sharon something that no one else has ever given her. A break. I hate seeing her cry – for as much as she does for everyone no one helps her. I want her to have a house that doesnt make her sick to her stomach to come home to, I want her to be happy, and I want everyone in this house to be able to have a nice room. Sharon has been struggling too long, and she deserves something positive in her life.. instead of barely making it check to check, and having to decide what utility to lose.. Please help me give something to her, she deserves it more than anyone in my eyes… I need a miracle. Thank you for your consideration, Ty.

  53. Hello, my name is Dawn Mark um. I live in Potts Camp, MS.I was left the house I live in by my grandfather, who built the house in 1956. I have been battling Systemic Lupus since 1998. My muscles and joints are slowly deteriating, making it difficult for me to go up and down stairs. My shower is down there, and my laundry room is downstairs and outside on the back porch. My house sits on a hill and I've had two trees fall but I cannot afford the repairs and yard care that needs to be done. The house is full of mold, which is not helping my lungs, and the stairs are going to make it impossible for me to stay in my home. I love where I am at, but I need help to be able to stay and not have to be put in an assisted living facility. All of my organs have been affected and I am fixing to have to go back on my chemo, but I would truly be blessed to receive help from you and some help to the Lupus Foundation of America to help find a cure. It needs to be recognized because more and more people are being diagnosed with this horrible disease. I want to stay in my home, so please consider this my plea for your help and support! Thank you, Dawn

  55. Hi ABC, My name is Christy Smith and I live in a small, farming town named Rockingham, NC. I have been married to my high school sweetheart for 12 years. We have been living in our house since 2002. My husband is a farmer and I was a elementary school teacher for 15 years. We had the perfect house and 2 beautiful children, until an unexpected event happened. I found out I was pregnant, but not with one baby, twins!!! It was a shock to us all. I was 37 years old. At 20 weeks pregnant I found out that they were identical girls. At 23 weeks I found out that they had Twin to Twin Syndrome. This is when 1 twin has more placenta fluid than the other. By the time the doctors found out, it was too late, one twin was almost dead. I had to rush to a hospital 2 hours away that specialized in what I had. They did what they could but I still had to fly to Cinncinati Childrens Hospital in Ohio. There I had to have a specialized surgery to save the twins lives. But it was already too late for one of them. She survived but she had a stroke in utero due to all the fluid building up in her organs and heart. They told me that there was a 90 % chance that she would have cerebral palsy. I came home and continued to have weekly doctor visits at the hospital 2 hours away. Then, my water broke and I had to be put on bedrest at this hospital. I was 2 hours away from family, my husband, and my other 2 small children. It was the loneliest 15 days of my life. Then, on January 15, 2011, I had to have an emergency C-section. The twins were born 3 months too early. They only weighed 2 pounds each. They had to stay in the NICU at the hospital 2 hours away for 3 months. I had to stretch myself between my newborn twins and my 5 and 7 year old children at home. I was so worn out. But I have tried to be strong and positive for everyone else. I named the twins Macy and Madison. They are truly 2 beautiful miracles. I could only take off 1 year medical leave, so I had to resign from the school system. Madison was diagnosed at birth with Hemipalegic cerebral palsy and developmental delays. It has been an emotional roller coaster for me and my family. Having 4 kids is a very hard task for all mothers. But having 3 typical developing children and 1 handicapped child is even HARDER. They are now 3 and a half years old, and I am just now getting an assistant to help me with Madison. We have been financially struck because I haven't been able to return to work and we are relying on my husbands income. I have been taking care of the twins and my other 2 kids while my husband works very long hours. The doctors have told us that Madison may not ever walk. So I have been preparing myself for that, while traveling hours away to all sorts of therapies and doctors. I have done so much for her to try and get help for her. She has come so far. Madison has already over come a bunch of odds. However, the house we live in has bedrooms upstairs. The only bedroom downstairs is mine. I know she is gonna need a down stairs bedroom and bathroom that is handicapped accessable. I just don't know when we will ever be able to afford to add on her a room, or make any needed changes in our house to accommodate her. PLease consider my family for a home makeover. Our little Madison has been such a blessing to our family and she is a precious child. I just want her to have all the opportunities that her brother and sisters have. Thanks for reading and god bless…

  56. First, I would like to say God Bless this show for all you do & I love to watch the miracles take place as you restore hope to these families. I would of never thought that "my" family would be one of the ones in need but troubles come to all. My name is Radrequia Finley,I am currently sending this request from Afghanistan(I am on a duty tour for the Air Force)for my mother Rosland Graham, a nurse who resides in Alexander City, Alabama with my 4 year old brother and older sister who moved in with my mom to help her with my little brother after my mom's recent divorce. She lives in a 3 bedroom house,2 baths, full living and dining area. With a basement that includes another bathroom and 2 other rooms. Sounds amazing right? Well it was until the plumbing went bad in all the bathrooms, the kitchen floor is actually falling in, they have a leaking problem that has made the basement a wreck and due to all the water damage, the infestation of roaches is spreading rapidly. The roof is caved in due to a storm but the insurance company won't fix it because she is also up for a foreclosure. When her husband left her with my little brother to take care of the bills became too much and she became behind on her payments. My mother is one of the most wonderful people I know and I hate to see her struggling. She has always done what she can for others and housed many people in need before the house started to break down. I would just like to see her helped for once. Do you know how heartbreaking it is to fight in the military so other people can have their homes but see my mom taken from hers? Thank you for the consideration and all you do. God Bless

  58. Hello, my name is Katelynn DuBois I am 16 years old and I am from Moncks Corner, South Carolina. I am submitting an audition for my grandmother (Jeannie) and the family that lives there. To start off my grandmother has a bad foot and back. She may have to get surgery on them both. She has 5 kids of her own but is now taking care of me and my 4 other siblings. (Alyssa, Raven, Makayla, Michael) it's hard for her because we are all getting older and so is she. She is a strong woman and that is why we all look up to her. The reason we are not with my mother is because she likes to go out and pretend she's still 21 years old. So she leaves us with our grandmother and then goes on about her day. Anyways, about the house. My grandmother has had this home for about 12 years. It's in bad condition. We have mold in many places of the house mainly the bathroom. Which isn't good for our little sister Makayla because she has asthma. We have leaks all over the home. Whenever it rains it leaks. The leaks are bad in the kitchen the most there is about 10 leaks in there. Right above the stove, washer and dryer and dishwasher. The roof has came in about 3 places in the house and that would be my sister Ravens room and my grandmothers room and one in her bathroom. The one in her bathroom is HUGE. It makes it smell in there and it's just bad. The animals here make the house smell bad as well. There are 9 dogs and 8 of them stay in the home. We try and build fences but they never work. We have 2 goats and 6 chickens that need homes like built for them. They just run around the yard and we can't have that. We could have the dog run around out there too if animal patrol wasn't called all the time. There are 5 kids here and two adults with only 4 bedrooms. We need more bedrooms (that don't leak) all the rooms in the house leak. I would be so grateful if you guys could help. I have seen and admire your work that you have done to change so many peoples lives. Please help if you can. There isn't a day that my grandma stresses about the house falling in. Please. Thank you so much.

  59. I would like to nominate some friends or the family. This is their story. Scott and Rhonda Pineau form Nashua, NH have 2 children. They live in a very old run down house. Their daughter is heading of to Plymouth State in a couple of weeks, she is a very talented music major. Their 2nd daughter is 13 and is severly autistic. She is nonverbal and still wears diapers. Both parents have to work and still cannot afford the extra care for their daughter. Just recently Scott was diagnosed with advanced MS. He has just begun treatment but it is unclear how long he will be able to work. He is the main provider for the household and is already losing his balance and has a hard time getting around. There is a good chance that he will end up in a wheel chair and this house is by NO means set up for a child with a disability and a husband with a disability. It breaks my heart to see what the future might have in store for this family. They desperately need and deserve this makeover. PLEASE consider the difference that you could make for this family. They are very scared right now with the finicial concerns of college and how they are going to make ends meet when Scott is going to have to go out of work on full-time disability. He is trying to hold out until the end of the year.
    Thank You so much…
    A dear friend Beth

  60. Nominating the Lockhart Family.
My sister is raising two children, her son Dylan who is wheelchair bound age 9 and her daughter Alyssa age 6.
They live in a small single wide mobile home which was a great fit for their family 5 years ago. Since that time my nephew Dylan was diagnosed with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. He has recently been upgraded to a power wheel chair, which he loves! He feels so much more independent now. Their home makes it difficult for him to manover because of the tight space.
The bathrooms are small and narrow, because his chair will not fit, my sister must carry him to and from the restroom. This might not sound like a huge task, but because Dylan can not walk, or crawl, she is lifting almost 150 pounds of dead wait. He can not hold on like a typical child would when being carried. I would love for Dylan to have the independence and freedom and a home that caters to his disability. They are on limitied income, as my sister is a stay at home mom to care for dylan and her husband a factory worker. A new home is not something that is reasonable for them to do for themselves at this time. Any time or consideration for this family would be greatly appreciated! Dylan is the most loving child you will ever meet. The most memorable thing that he said, that will impact me forever, is that now that he has his power chair, it's almost like he can walk. That broke my heart but at the same I felt joy for him. The smallest things are taken forgrated by people, I just want to share our story to show the world a child is a wheelchair is not a monster. He is a child, he muscles just don't work like they should. I would absolutley love to see dylan in a home that he can roam free in his chair and not be confined to a specific space. I am willing to do ANYTHING to help make this possible. Please Consider! Thanks & God Bless!

  61. My name is Leslie Jacobson, I would like to tell you about my story. I had found out that in 2010 my sister was diagnosed with lung cancer. At the time, I was living in Alabama helping my mother remodel and we were homeless so I had no choice, but to go there. I am actually from Minnesota and after finding out the news about my sister I had made a quick decision that we needed to get back so I could be with my sister. I bought my house on an impulse and didn't have the greatest inspector. Three weeks after getting into my home, I had my sister come live with me so I knew she was taken care of. I drove her four times a week to chemo and radiation which was two hundred+ miles a day. I also had to drive her to the mayo hospital 6 times a month which was 350 miles a shot. I quit my job and school because it got to demanding. So my husband was the only income coming in. We fully supported her financially and emotional. We went through all our savings and more. So we have not been able to maintain our house like we should have. I also suffer from sever asthma. When we bought our house we were in a rush so I could get my sister in a loving and safe place. My sister passed away in September of that same year. The cancer had spread to her brain and took her life. In the process my house wasn't' inspected properly. My husband and I are financially strapped. We have had some concerns with our house and at this point I am truly scared of some of them. I have a front porch and the wall is separating from the floor it was told to us that one day the floor will fall. I was told that our fireplace is collapsing from the inside. The wall is separating from the floor. We had a basement person come look at it and he told us that there is shims and they are not the proper shims. He also told us that our house is imploding from the lack of structure. That is some of the more major issues that we know of. The plaster is cracking on the ceiling and I don't mean a little. The crack is going around the whole ceiling and I am scared that one day it will fall on one of my five children or someone else. We have nothing left and I fear for the safety of my children. We are still trying to catch up on bills that we got when my sister pasted. My sister wanted to invest her time in helping use maintain and fix up our house. She had many plans. Thank you very much for listening to my story.

  62. Hi I was just surfing the net looking for some kind of support and remembered your show. I actually didn't know you were still making new shows. Me and my kids love the show! It is so heartwarming and gives so many people hope. My 13 year old daughter really wants to do what you guys do! I'm looking for help for my mom, she has raised 7 of us! Three girls, a boy and three more girls. We lost my only brother 2 years ago in august. He was a single dad of 5, 4 girls and one boy. His oldest just turned 18 and is headed to a university! He has a 15, 13, 6, and 4 year old. He was mister mom! All while busting his butt doing construction! He was building a hope house for women when his untimely accident took him from us. It has been devastating. And very difficult for my mom. She was already watching the children while he worked and they were at home with gramma so it was natural for them to stay with her. Besides she wouldn't have it any other way. They live in an inner city and struggle in a 100 year old house with a leaking roof and very scary old electric wires that spark when you plug anything in. I wish more than anything to see them in a home they could stay safe and grow without the stress that may take gramma sooner than need be. Thank you for hearing my story. We are so private and it wasn't easy to even write this. Especially seeing how many people truly are in need. If you don't choose us I only ask for prayers. Thank you so much

  63. Hello my name is charlynne. I am a single divorced mother of three. I guess I can start here my mother grew up in an orphanage and was adopted. My mother has always had a hard life she grew up having to take care of children instead of being able to be a child herself. My family is not big its just me my three children my three sisters two aunts 2 nephews and about 10 cousin's this is all the blood family We have. My son became I'll when he turned 3 yrs old. He was diagnosed with nuephrotic syndrome. On April 24, 2014 my son underwent immediate open heart surgery to remove a blood clot from his heart. The make a wish foundation has granted him a wish. My son is 13 yrs old he asked if he could wish for a home.It has been soo hard on me and my children being able to be stable in a home. When my son wished for a home it made me very sad because all I want is too finally be able to have anything to call home, our own instead of always having to stay here or there. We have not had a place to call home for a long time. Whoever is reading this I Pray that this message touches your hearts, and that maybe with faith you can help my son with his wish…A Place to call home…please let us know if there is anything you can do to grant my son his wish please. A HOME. I Thank You in advance!!!

  64. Hello my name is Jessica I'm 34 yrs old. My sister Tammy is 42 yrs old and has a 6 yr old son and is a single mom. Tammy was diagnosed with diabetes when she was 16. 4 yrs ago she was diagnosed with a very rare skin diseases called Hydrogentic I might have spelled that wrong, this disease leaves a constant infection in her body that she has to take antibiotics for every day. She was informed this year she was in stage 3 kidney failure which has now lead into stage 5 kidney failure and is awaiting on a transplant they are putting her on dialysis as soon as possible because her kindney function is only 13%. She is so scared and worried not for herself but for her son. Her son was born with club feet and has under went 5 surgeries since he's been born and yet to this day is still being corrected for it. Because of the kidney failure her diabetes has became out of control and her pancreas is not producing the incline that is needed for her body so the doctors are also discussing a pancreas transplant. Its been a really long road for our family. We lost our dad in 2002 at the age of 53 lost our mother in 2012 at the age of 56 due to kidney failure and heart disease. IN 2008 I was diagnosed with uterine cancer and had to undergo a full hystrocomy, 2010 had complications of the 2008 surgery and they had to go back in, 2012 I had a recurrence of the cancer on my spine which broke my spine in 1/2 I had to undergo reconstruction back surgery also the removal of the tumor, now I have a small spot on my collar bone that has been in remission for 2 yrs which im currently doing hormonal therapy for. My sister Tammy and I live together we are both on disability which barley makes ends meet but we get by. Its extremely hard at times our brother stays with us as well to help out. We normally never ask for help but we would be so blessed and thankful if we were chosen.
    Sincerely
    Jessica Ortega

  65. Thank you for the opportunity to share my story. This story is not for me, it is for a friend/client of mine. They are a lovely couple living in San Diego, CA. Both the husband and wife are not well and have been in and out of the hospital almost weekly. The wife has problems breathing and uses an oxygen tank and can no longer work. Her husband today found out his cancer came back and he stated he may not be able to battle it longer. He is a retired general contractor. He can no longer work as well since he fell ill. The home they currently live in was his parents which has been left to him. The home is pretty much in original condition (built 1961) except for a few things he has done on his own prior to falling ill. It is all they have. There is a second story which had been added 15 years ago or so and never completed. Exposed wires, no plumbing etc. The kitchen is original, with old appliances. The home can not be sold in its condition nor can it really be habitable. They love this home and have no place else to go and no means or money to repair it. Their medical expenses continue to rise. They are such a lovely, hospitable couple who certainly deserve so much more then they have been given. Please consider them for this amazing opportunity. It would be the most wonderful gift. Thank you for your consideration.

  66. Hello. My name is Danita and I live in Texas we have two children one name Colby who is 11 and the other Colton who is 7! I'm reaching out to you because both our boys have chronic illness the oldest has 19 medical diagnosis and megacolon where his colon is three times the size it should be so he can not go to the bathroom on his own, he had appendececostomy done where he gives himself stomach enemas every night so he can use the restroom Colby sees 6 drs on a regular basis and that will pretty much be the rest of his life. He is now in the danger zone of not growing and we finally got approved for insurance for the growth hormone shots to help him live which we will still be responsible for 400 a month unless we get approved for financial help! Our son Colton has a rare disease called PCD it's incurable lung disease with no cure and it worsen over time!! He is in and out of hospital a lot and has had 2 lung bronchcoscopy and 6 major sinus surgeries. He is now growing a rare mold in his sinuses which he needs allergy shots to help desensitize his body if that doesn't work he will have to have another surgery!! I know y'all help a lot of people and I'm sure there are others way worse than us. It's so hard having two kids with chronic illness and not knowing what there future is it's even more frustrating trying to do the treatments he needs and the vest to help keep him out of hospitals but insurance won't pay for it or balk at the diagnoses!! I can't work because I'm at a drs appt or hospital or test being done on one or the other all the time. My husband and I know are house has mold and that we need to tear it down and start over but a one income family and tons of medical bills makes it almost impossible to tear down and start over!! We pray every day that our boys will grow out of this but deep down we know that's not possible we just want our boys to be kids and know just because they have diseases the disease doesn't have them!! We have never needed help till now this year has sucked the life out of us my husband can't move up in his job or promote to a new location unless we have hospital near by so please extreme makeover take our story into consideration we want to stay in our area near family who can help with the boys but we need a new home one that won't make our children sick all the time they just want a break from hospitals and drs and test!! Thank you for your time I know God continues to bless you each and every day he gives us the strength to handle the storms that come our way on a daily basis!!

My husband & I were college sweethearts & he went into the Army in March of 1998 & in 2001 switched over to the Michigan Army National Guard. For the past 13 yrs he has been a National Guards men. Between tours, state side orders, schooling & deployments he has been away for a total of 7 1/2 yrs. We have 3 children, Jocelynn who is 15, Marcus who is 12 & Jayden is 3! Jocelynn excels academically & is very involved with cheer & church. Marcus does well in school too & is a football, basketball, baseball & soccer player. On May 13, 2011 we had our little Jayden. We didn't know before he was born, but Jayden is our little miracle baby. He was born anopthalmic ( born without eyes – blind ), he was born deaf, he has multicystic dysplatic kidney disease, at birth had several holes in his heart & is completely dependent for mobility. Jayden was 1 month & 1 day old for his 1st surgery which Antoine wasn't here for. Jayden was only months old when Antoine was deployed to Kuwait in 2001-2012 with the 1462nd out of Howell, MI. Jocelynn, Marcus, Jayden & I embarked on this amazing & crazy journey with Jayden. I had to quit my job as accounts payable & receptionist due to Jayden's demanding medical schedule. Jocelynn & Marcus stepped up in ways that I have never saw kids do, they still do all& inspire me daily. Antoine returned home to Jayden who had numerous surgeries, eye procedures including his 1st set of prosthetic eyes, plus bilateral cochlear implants… A huge change for everyone. 3 months after he was home we were becoming financially strapped so we decided he should go on another deployment so he did & is currently in Afghanistan with the 1460th out of Midland, MI. I could go on & on about our story but that's what the show is for. As far as our home goes we have a 1080 sq ft house that is not adaptable for the needs of Jayden as he is getting older & will have a wheelchair his entire life & has Occupational therapy & Physical therapy needs. We have a 3 bedroom home, Jayden is in our room, Jocelynn & Marcus each have a small room. We have 1 bathroom & it's also our laundry room! Our living room has mold coming through the walls & our yard is so low it floods & washes back under our house and the sump pump has blown twice. Sometimes there is a smell from stagnant water that enters the house. Jayden's incoming equipment will be taking up the little space we have left & we all would be such an overwhelmed family & community! Our small town has rallied around us & when they say it takes a village, our community does help in a major way. To give back we give a The Jayden Fair Honor Scholarship to a graduating senior from our local high school & I organize a Jayden Fair Easter Bunny Breakfast & Easter Egg Hunt every year, along with one of my closest friends. Last year we had nearly 200 children that attended. Our small town would benefit so much from this as well… I would love to see something special to happen for our school as well as my family!

  68. hi,my name is patricia and i do not know where to began, the house i live in needs windows, insulation, plumbing, electrical and a roof and in the living room the chimmley needs to be replace it is brittle and i do not know how i am going to pay the taxes on it,untill it passes all inspectios my taxes are high the only thing i can say is thank you for your time

  69. Hi my name is Lacie and I'm 27 years old. My family lives in a dilapidated 2 story home in Sac City, Iowa. I live with my boyfriend, my two kids, his two kids, and his father. Shane (my boyfriend is 35), Madison 12, Kylee 9, Seth 9, and Melodee 5 along with Gary who is 58 all live together. We are an extreme mix of a family with varying issues. The youngest child in the family has severe asthma and we're constantly battling her symptoms and trying different treatments. We are on our third doctor with her and looking forward to more testing coming up in the next few months. My boyfriend is an amputee. He had a motorcycle accident 7 years ago and lost his left leg above the knee due to the trauma. His father who lives with us has a severe mental illness to the extent he can't care for himself. Our house is in despair compared to our needs. When it rains our bathroom becomes a swamp of rain water and falling plaster, lathe, and insulation complemented by mold. Our bedrooms have windows that allow bugs and the elements to get in due to cracked windows, old windows, and plain just don't seal right windows. Last winter we had to spend time at my boyfriend's mothers due to our furnace going out. We had all four kids home and had no heat. We have no clue when this will happen again as we just bypassed the problem at the time due to not having any money to actually fix the problem or buy a new furnace. Some of our bedrooms my boyfriend can't access due to the steep nature of the steps and his limited mobility. I would love for my family to be able to not worry about being sick anymore and able to tuck our kids in at night in their beds without fear of the elements causing no heat or simply not being able to climb the steep steps. I would love for our family to not have to worry during the winter for a fire due to the need to use space heaters due to inadequate insulation and furnace.

  70. Hi my name is Danielle. I'm posting this for my mom and dad who live in the small town of rural retreat in Virginia. There is 7 people that live in a 4 bedroom trailor. This might not sound that bad. The floors are falling in, the walls have black mold, there are some spots that are just ply wood for flooring there is only one working bathroom and many more complications. My mom was diagnosed with breast cancer awhile back and had to have it removed and thank god she survived. Years later she was diagnosed with MS and carpal tunnel syndrome. This put her out of work and left everything up to my dad who had two knee surgery and just recently had heart failure and was in the hospital for three weeks and almost passed away. He now has a pacemaker and depends on his at home small engine busineaa to pay the bills buy groceries and get to doctors appointments. his dream has always been to given his family a beautiful home and what he started he wasn't aloud to finish sue to his health. My family needs help. My sister her husband and two children live with my parents to help them I would love nothing more than to not see them have to struggle

  71. Hi. My Sierra. I'm a a 16 old year from Toledo Ohio.
This is my family and my story.
My mom messed up her knee when I was 3 years of age. Since then we've in and out of houses and she's been in of work. By my count it's been 14 different houses. In many different towns and cities. Due to that fact I've been to 12-13 schools. Me and my 2 brothers and sister have been through hell and back.
My oldest has been able to move out to live with his girlfriend and childern.
My sister is engaged but… That's kinda of gone down hill.
My other brother is a young father with problems of his own.
And right now I'm living with my father.
My mother has lost her home. Her husband has left us hanging. He was a trucker on and off work. The man never a real help for our family. My mother was in love blind. And in love with the man she once knew.
Events are a turn for the worse…
Right now my brother, sister, and mother are living in a motel room with two beds. No car. And most likely end up in a box. I don't know how to help.
This is the best idea I've had I guess. You guys and maybe Ellen. I know this isn't a joke but I had to put in a laugh so I don't always have the worst on my mind.
I also know I don't have a terrible story… But my family needs help.
    ~Sierra Hogrefe

  72. We are a pretty normal family with 3 children ages 13,10 and 5. We have been blessed with most everything we need. My husband and I both work full time jobs to pay a mortgage on a home that we have sadly outgrown.although we are blessed abundantly I would love to just have some room to grow. Myself and my two daughters suffer from asthma and severe allergies. We have mold growth in the walls and struggle breathing in the winter with our woodstove. I know there are plenty of stories worse than our and I love that you guys keep helping people in extreme need. I pray that you are able to continue to help those in the most need. God bless.

  73. Hi, my name is Reggie. About 3 1/2 years ago my life was changed. As I working overseas in Iraq doing what I thought was setting my family up financially, my wife of 10 years decided that marriage was no longer in her plans. I came home to find my home abandoned and run down. My yard and trees totally dead. I came home to find my mortgage was 5 months behind and bills were stacked sky high. I am a father of 3, with a son in college and my youngest daughter living with me. It's been a very trying time to say the least. To have our home remodeled would be a dream come true. Thanks you for your consideration in advanced.
