  1. I would like to submit my grandson Chuck Bowen, Jr. and his family for an Extreme Home Makeover consideration. Chuck and Jessica live in Walkerton, Indiana on the same dirt road as his grandparents, Steve and Carol Beam. Chuck and Jess just purchased their first home from an elderly couple. The home is almost non inhabitable. The house is a double-wide and has not been well kept in years. Frankly it is wreck. The kitchen is very small, windows don't stay open, they are not insulated. The kitchen/breakfast room floor slants. The roof has a small pitch making ceilings low. The master bathroom window opens up to the family room between the house and garage. Their electric pops nightly due to poor electrical wiring. They have a two year old daughter and Jessica is expecting another girl in December. Jessica suffers with kidney stones that become more intense during pregnancy, however, she never complains.Chuck just got a job working for the state as a counselor at a correctional facility and Jessica is a teacher in a Christian school. Neither one of them make much money, let alone having extra to make their new house into a safe and comfortable home. Jessica just enrolled in on-line classes to get her Masters degree. Chuck survived a four-wheel accident that has left him with Bells Palsy on one side of his face. They never ask for help and struggle to make ends meet. Living in a tornado area is an issue as they have no basement to go to in an emergency. These are two very loving, giving individuals who love each other and their family and really deserve a break.

  4. Hi, my name is Chloe. I am 14 and I live in a crappy trailer. This is a very old trailer and its falling apart piece by piece every single day. It has mold every where, and its not good for me or my mom. I have two brothers, and they dont even live with my mom and I anymore, they live with their dad. My mom has really bad back problems and she cant move around the house to pick things up. We can only use half of the trailer because the other half of it is falling apart. My room is in the living room, so we dont have a living room.. We can't even eat dinner with each other because there is no space in the kitchen. There is a few spots on the floor with plywood over it because there are holes in the floor. My mom cant work because of her back, and she hasnt worked for two weeks. She takes multiple pills a day, everyday, and they dont even help her. So her trying to do the dishes is a hard task. She doesnt even get disability, so we literally depend on child support, food stamps, and her boyfriends job. The floor in my moms room is falling through, and i dont know how much longer its goung to stay a floor. My mom can barley take a shower because its hard for her to lift her legs up to get into the shower. Our bathroom is so small and i cant get in there at the same time to help her. . Iwant the best for my mom because my brothers should be living here and its not okay that they dont. And I want my mom to be able to walk around our house without getting sick from the mold. I have faith and I trust that you guys coild help us. We really need it.

  5. I have a family that desperatly needs help! My boyfriends cousin and her family's house burned down to the ground a week ago! The Kilgore Family are originally from South Louisiana. They survived Katrina and moved to Jefferson in 2011. They have 4 kids. 3 girls, ages 2, 12, 15. And a 16 year old son. Monday, August 4, 2014, their truck, while parked in their carport caught fire. The carport and truck went up quick and caught the house on fire as well. They lost everything in the fire. The children have no shoes. The baby is in need of diapers. They have no clothes. And ultimately. No where to live. Thr American Red Cross has out them up until at least Wednesday, . After that, they are on their own. They need help! Iv been trying to find out how to send in and application on their behalf… They are a really sweet family that made me feel welcome when we went over last thanksgiving… I feel they truly deserve this

  8. My name is McKenzie Williams and I am 15 years old and my stepfather was just forced out of the military due to budget cuts. We are now homeless with a 3 and a half month old baby. I also have another sister and a grandmother who is disabled and can barely get around. We have no home and my stepfather has no job. We need your help before my mom was married she was a single mom for 12 years and she thought that we would finally be ok but now we are homeless. Please we really need your help. My family deserves this because it has seemed to be one bad thing after another and this could be our good thing.

  9. OUR TOWN NEEDS THIS:)
My name is Catherine, my husband, myself and our 4 year old son live in the small town of Sharon Springs, KS. It would definitely be want you call a "hole in the wall" but it is home. We live in my husbands grandmothers house on the family farm. In our town you will find a gas station, restaurant (family owned and ran), a diner with a hotel, a grocery store, and a few other locally owned shop, but there is one thing you wont find. You wont find a Day Care Facility anywhere in our town or within 30 miles of us. You will find 10 moms gathering to find out if any of the stay at home moms are looking to add one more to their group, or trying to encourage someone to just open a daycare. For the last 2 years my husband and i have been through 1 daycare facility (that closed) and 3 baby sitters and are currently on the search for another. Thankfully our son adapts to change fairly well but not all children do. I am worried about the future of our community, mothers having to quit their jobs because no one is available to watch their children, if we don't have help established businesses could be compromised. I want to be the BIG change in our TINY community, but at the age of 22 we need a little jump start.

I am asking for your help to build a facility that will help parents feel safe to bring their children too, and a place children love like a home.
    Thank you,
    Catherine Abbott

  10. I have dreamed of something better, but the people you choose is well deserving. I cry ever time. I thank you for what you are doing. Keep it up and God Bless

  11. I am writing about a family in Long Beach, NY. This is a family of a single dad who lost his home in Hurricane Sandy and has been living in a trailer outside his home for 2 years with his four sons and a dog. This summer his 12 year old son had a surfing accident and right now is paralyzed from the neck down. Their house is still being worked on and the dad spends all his time in the hospital with his son. Now, the house needs to be handicap accessible. This family needs all the help they can get.

  13. Hi my name is Natia and I SINCERELY HOPE this post is read and considered. I know everyone has a story; some worse than others, but I TRULY wish I could grant my parents a home makeover. My parents have lived in our house for over 30 years. EVERYTHING, I mean EVERYTHING needs tending to. If I had the money to knock the house down to the ground and rebuild I WOULD. Both of my parents have ailments against them. My father is legally blind, hard of hearing, and has vertigo (dizzy spells and can pass out at anytime); and my mother recently had a stroke. She's recovering but she's not capable of doing the things she was before the stroke. We (dad, mom, me and my 4 kids, and my sister) live in a over filled 3 bedroom (technically it's a 2 bedroom; we turned the rec room into a bedroom to make it 3) 3 story townhouse and my parents room is on the top floor of the house. That means they have to come down 1 flight of stairs to use the restroom and 3 flights of stairs to get to the kitchen. Healthwise, neither are in the condition to climb all those stairs anymore. There's mold in the house; so bad that it's plant-like and coming through the ceiling in the living room. The bathroom needs to be completely gutted out and started from scratch. There's been instances where they have fallen trying to get in and out of the shower. The list goes on and on…they just need a new house. My mom is a real people person and has extended herself in many ways to help people. From the time we were kids even until now, she's always feeding those that are hungry, opens her home to those that need a place to stay (even though there's already a house full). She has 5 kids of her own, but she's taken in and raised numerous of our friends who parents put them out. People that she's encountered in the neighborhood call her "Ma" as she provides that motherly love to all. My mother is a great person of character and I'm not just saying that because she's my mom, I truly mean it. She's loved by many. She instilled in me that you should always help others even if you think you don't have enough. "It's a blessing to feed and help others". I REALLY wish I could give my parents a better living environment. Sincerely, Hopeful.

  16. Hi, my names Heather I live in Louisiana and I'm 14 yrs old. When I was 2 years of age my mom and dad got a divorce. My mom took on a 2,4 and 6 year old girls as a single mother. Being a broken family wasn't always easy, well it never really was. My moms an extremely hard working women but everything she does to help our family always back fires and it's never good. In the begging of the year she tried too rent us a nice house but as the bills became higher she wasn't able too pay them so we got evicted. We've always lived in apartments, unhealthy houses or with family. I want the best for my mom because she the most loving person I know but it seems the harder she tries too do what she can for me and my sisters it never works out. When we got evicted she stayed in a hotel for awhile. My mom has two sisters in Chicago but one of them is sick with a lot of fatalities such as cancer. My mom went too stay with them so she can see her sister before she passes away. I've never been away from my mom because I've always been there even when we had no place too go I will never leave her side. Her struggles are mine. Me and my sisters are currently staying with my dad, we don't really have a choice because my mom couldn't afford plane tickets for me and my dad wouldnt pay for them. It's reached the point where were now drowning. She's turning 45 in September and she needs a stable home. We need a stable home. I want too know what it's like too bring home friends and not be embarrassed because I don't have the best house. That's why I'm applying for a show I've been watching for years!

  18. i'am contacting you on behalf of an omaha nebraska family, on july 27, 2014 Frank and Yvonne Pivonka were killed in an auto accident, they leave behind 7 children ranging in age from 3 to 20. Their Aunt Cathy has taken on the task of caring for these 7 children in addition to her own, and although our community here has raised almost 60,000 to aid this family, it is not going to accomplish the most important task which is keeping these kids together. They are going to need a home that can accommodate them and all the children, there is talk that the state of nebraska wants to get involved and split them up because they don't think that Cathy and her husband can provide for all of them, but we have vowed as a community, and friends of the Pivonka family to provide support where and when it is needed, the only thing that we can see being an issue is proper living space for that many people, if we can solve that issue, they can stay together and stay a family here. i'am pleading on their behalf for you to consider them for a home makeover, for these children to be split up would be devastating and they have already lost too much, loosing both of their parents.

  19. Hi I'm going to try to keep this short. My names is Mysti Johnson and when I was 16 i fell in love with a boy named Kyle Lehenbauer. My family had a lot of issues that made me leave home when I was 16. With no where else to turn Kyle's mother Kelli Lehenbauer took me in. Almost 7 yrs. later she has been living with a family member for the past 3 yrs. because we do not have the time or means to repair their family home in Ringwood, OK. I would just love the opportunity to give something back to someone who gave everything to me. I just want to show my future Mother, that without her I wouldn't be where I am today.

    Thank you for your time,

    Mysti Johnson

  20. Hi everyone, I would like to ask for your help with my family's home. We live in a 4 bedroom, 2 bathroom home but we are having a lot of plumbing and electrical issues, we have to use a BUCKET under the sink in the kitchen to drain our sink because our drain lines are in such bad shape, the toilets do not flush most of the time and my husband has to plunge them several times a day, the shower does not drain either, the one bathtub that does drain(it drains under our house) the hot water does not work to it, I have to either carry hot water to the tub or go to my mother in law's house to bathe my family. My husband and I are raising 4 children under the age of 4 and we are kinship foster parents to our 3 nieces and there is another niece due any day that we will bring home from the hospital, this will make 5 children under 4. We have one boy, he is our only biological child and due to fertility problems we cannot have anymore biological children and God has blessed us with the opportunity to raise and love our nieces as if they are our very own. We have other issues with our house and property as well, the floors in our house are slanting as if our house is falling, our "garage" has termites and it is where we store things because it is not accessible as a car garage. Our son has asthma and one of the things that triggers his asthma is pine trees and we have two on our property both of them are right by our driveway and every time we come home from going somewhere he starts coughing and wheezing so bad that he vomits…we have to have a trashcan ready for him at all times. We have been buying our home for 4 years now and it is not cost efficient to just move out and rent a house and we do not earn enough money to fix the things that need to be fixed and we do not qualify for any kind of loan that could help us. I will be praying for help, please let us know soon! God Bless You!

  22. My parents could use this very badly. They moved into a house with a m.I.l. just so me and my 2 boys could have a place to stay. He is a retired firefighter but goes back to work while in pain from injuries help make the bills. My mother has been at her job over 17 years and stills manage to be a mother of two and a grandmother of three. The house is old and falling apart inside. The shower downstairs doesn't work due to flooding everywhere. And the back playroom has flooded due to a leak in the concrete walls. We found that the downstairs has no insulation in the walls after that incident. The plumbing always backs up shower and bathtub upstairs. The Windows are so old that I get worried about people getting in so easy. I have to stay at home right now because of my two year old and his needs. My parents have been nothing but outstanding honest good hard working people. I would be so greatful for ever if you could make this miracle happen because it couldn't go to a.more deserving pair who just had their 36th anniversary on August 5th.

  23. To begin, I'd like to thank ABC and extreme makeover home edition for the fabulous work they do. It's a reminder in these times that there is still faith in humanity and the remarkable power of volunteer commitment. My name is Ashley and for the past year I have suffered from Congestive Heart Failure, and severe heart failure. To begin, my fiancé and I tried for months to have a baby. God blessed us with a beautiful baby boy who was born on 11/12/13. We both looked at this day with optimism and genuine luck! He was born healthy and beaming. We were excited to complete our family, to say the least. Unfortunately, a few weeks later I woke up unable to breath. It literally felt like I was drowning. I knew after a week of torment that I wouldn't make it through another night so I decided to go to the Emergency Room. After many tests, I remember the sadness in the physicians eyes as he told a 30 year old mother that I was in congestive heart failure. I don't remember hearing anymore words. I guess you could say I "checked out." I do however remember his tender embrace during the darkest time of my life. Life as I knew it changed, flipped, and befuddled me in that instant. After I got out of the hospital some time later, I was unable to hold and nurture my beautiful baby boy. I was unable to play with my 4 year old twins and I was unable to be the role model my 12 year old daughter needed. I knew without a doubt that life would never be the same. I was right. It's August and my ejection fraction is 7%. December 15, 2013 it was 25%. It's been an uphill battle, I prefer not to look at it as a landslide. The medication I am on enduces an incredible urgency to use the bathroom. OUr only bathroom is upstairs. Using a "potty chair" just to make it on time is not only embarrassing it's also humiliating. My fiancé is the lucky man that loves me enough to do the cleanup work.
The heart failure also causes me to faint on a daily basis. With everything gory detail, I become more and more depressed. I'm sure you've heard the phrase "this isn't what I thought my life would be." But, this is my life now and I will never give up. Those 4 faces wouldn't allow that! We are discussing placement on a heart transplant list. But currently my kidneys are failing as well. Due to the lack of blood flow. Forgive me if I am coming across regretful. I'm not. This happened toe because I NEEDED this to happen. I've learned to slow down. Enjoy the tiniest of moments and listen to my body and the lessons I am being taught. In the meantime, while dealing with my health issues the house is falling apart. The basement has mold, it floods. The walls are cracked and this 100 year old house is drafty with animals living and excrementing above our heads.
ABC, we need your help. If not for me, please consider my family, my children. I can't leave them like this. I don't know where else to turn. Bill works his fingers to the bone. He's lost his finger in a work related accident, and I know he does it everyday for us.
We need 1 ounce of good news. It's been too long and too many tears. Thank you for reading. And thank you for your consideration. May God bless you all. -Ashley

  27. EXTREME HOME MAKEOVERS

Hello my name is Janet. I have a heartfelt encouraging story I’d like to share with the world for the sake of other women who are struggling seeking help in a one year residential program.
At two I was abandoned by my mother left to die until the police rescued my two sisters and me due to crying. From there we were taken to an orphanage and from there foster care. My childhood abuse turned into abuse and continued for years. At 36 I was desperate for a changed life and healing from emotional pain. I came to understand the biblical cause and effects of abuse. Because of understanding and healing I was able to go to Africa as a missionary in March of 2007 to March of 2008 to help establish a home for abused women. I had to give up “all” my possessions to do that. That was the best decision I ever made. Today I have a board of directors and friends in South Africa. That mission’s trip serving others turned into what is known today as Global Gogirl, Overcoming Abuse God’s Way. Then there is the miracle of my published book called Overcoming Abuse God’s Way, Rags to Riches (Rags the orphan and true riches which is peace and joy). What a miracle story as is with rest of my story. My biological mother who I only remember seeing once at 18 years old for 20 minutes went on to have other children – 2 sisters I never met who died of aids and 1 sister who last I heard was in prison. This news came when I was 33 and they were all younger than me. As founder and executive director of Global Gogirl, Inc. this organization trains community leaders to help others overcome the effects of abuse. We also have community support groups for those who are suffering from the effects of abuse in the Greater Memphis Area since January of 2010.
In July I was given the keys to a church turned into a 10 bedroom home to help establish a home for abused women. Since serving the South Africans my dream has been to establish a home for women in the United States. This mission goal has been on our documents for 6 years. I believe this is a story of hope. Hope for those who think God has forgotten them. Hope to see a future and hope for homeless women who want a new life. I would be so honored to hear MOVE THAT BUS on our property we were given the title to for FREE.
Thank you so much for considering sharing my story WITH THE WORLD!

  28. Hello and thank you for the opportunity to share our story. I would love to nominate the love of my life and our home. He grew up in this house and its full of memories, his father built many of the items and since his father died in a tragic accident when he was three years old he feels as if this is all he has left. It is a extremely very old home and everything is falling apart but determined to keep the memories and the only thing left of his fathers for many years now we have tried to save a work on the house as we live in it. Seems like as soon as we fix one thing another breaks, the foundation is not level so no matter what we try nothing ever comes out right. The roof and pipes leak leading to mold problems and in one room the roof has collapsed through the ceiling. We cant seem to get ahead enough to repair the roof. The leaking roof causes all kinds of electrical problems which have problems of their own (did i mention the electrical wiring is original) and i believe the home was built is the 1930s-40s. We live every oklahoma winter without heat because there is no heat or air in this home yet either. I remember finding newspapers in the walls while trying to remodel that the original builders used for insulation. With that said you can imagine there is no insulation throughout the home, some days you can literally see your breath. The windows are cracked or broken and covered and the doors have gaps underneath them from the home being unlevel. He also has a daughter age twelve, he didnt meet her until she was almost two years old. She doesnt live with us because of the condition of the home, although he prays everyday that we will get the home finished and she could come live instead of the occasional visits. We have been together for several years with no children and i worry the home conditions may have contributed to this and it breaks my heart. This man gives everything to everyone else before he ever gives to himself and i know there are probably more deserving families out there. But this man has been there for me from losing my mother to a lupus battle to finding out i have to fight the same battle. This man deserves this for his family and having your ability to preserve his fathers memories at the same time. I am honored to have the chance to share my story with you and hope it read and considered along with the thousands of other families that deserve the same. Thank you!

  29. Hi my name is Mindy I am 20 years old and I live with my Mother in law Karen Sapp and my Fiance Sam, and our 4 month old daughter Kyra. We live in Grand Rapids Michigan. I know my story probably isn't one of the worst but I think this would be a great opportunity for our family. Our mom Karen just had a pacemaker put in at the beginning of this year because one of her valves isn't working right and she is the most amazing woman in my life right now. Late 2012 I got kicked out of my father's house and the first place I came was to her. Sam and I had been dating since 2009. We met on my yearbook. And this was my first time meeting his mom. She took me in and took care of me like I was her daughter. She had adopted 2 boys Sam and my brother in law Joe and is such an awesome person. She takes pride in her home and in her gardens. But she stresses all the time. She works full time for Spectrum and barley makes enough to cover her house payment and bills. Our house was built in the 1920's. The foundation is literally falling apart actually making our house slant. We have all old Windows and the house is freezing in the winter because she doesn't make enough to be able to use the heat in the winter time. I am worried about living her with my daughter this winter because of that. Our water pressure is horrible and barley runs when you turn it to hot. And all the plugs in our house are 2 prong so we are constantly creating fire hazards by using adapters for our cords. If it storms bad outside our kitchen will get flooded because the balcony leaks . our bathroom has holes in the floor and the ceiling slants over the shower so Sam can not stand up straight and has to tilt his head completely over to take a shower. And we have termites in the wood work of our house. And not enough money to test for them and take care of it.. She is always so stressed out about her house falling apart and about her bills and I don't want the stress to get to her with the pacemaker and cause her to have a heart attack or a stroke. I love her so much and if I could see her happy and stress free it would make my dreams come true. We live in a 2 bedroom house and I would really like my daughter to have her own room… Another one of my dreams is to have a beautiful nursery for her and for when she grows up.. I just want my family happy and stress free. I want my mom to be able to not worry about her bills and stress about them.. This woman accepted me into her house not once but twice and she lives me like her own! She does everything she can to help Sam and I with or daughter and all I want is for her to be happy and I want to give something back to her after how much she has done for me.

  30. Hello we really need your help. We are a family of four. Our house is really old and out dated. Our base ment is not finished it floods when it rains. Our rooms are getting to small for me and my sister. My dad does every thing he can to help us by taking us to pratices and games that we play with or school. He does whatever he can to make sure our Mom to feel better and relax so she is not in a lot of pain. My mom has pancreatitis and gastroreasis which are both very pain full. She has had many hospital stays because she can't get the help she needs at home with her medicine and IV's. The last year alone she had about 130 days of hospital stays alone not counting all the ER visits. She hardly can get up with our being in pain. Being a 33 years old, she is to young to be this sick. She also has a feeding tube because she cannot eat with out getting very sick. I have a extra passage way in my heart that is a very rare. I had a surgery when was 7 and they fixed it but it wasn't a permanent fix. I am only 1 of 3 kids in Indiana that have this heart defect. I am also a heart ambassador of American Heart Association. I really would love if you could help us, but this is really for my mom she loves the show and she needs the space for all of her supplies that she needs so she doesn't have to go to the hosipital.

  31. AHello guys at Extreme Home MakeOver! I'm 23 and I love my mom very much! But I do have to say I feel so bad that I can't just buy her a new house.she's the most loving person in the world but her house is deffently not a safe place for anyone to live in. Her my little brother and my step dad live on my grandma's 14 acres of land in Katy tx swell as me and my fiancee we stay in a camper trailer in front of the barn.I. our whole little family stay all on this property my grandparents have worked very hard to be able to keep this land. Over the years our septic system has gotten full and it has been giving us problems. Basically I'm just saying I know you guys would lo've to see what the land looks like it's amazing and has so much potential and my mom deserves to not have to worries in her sleep if the hours is gonna catch fire. It would mean the world to me if you guys could change our life's!!!! 🙂

  32. I am a bilateral BKA (both my feet have been amputated BKA – below the knees) and I'm in a power chair. My husband works for a local grocery store, he is 43 and I'm 50 and we have moved from NNY NYB (Northern New York – New York Boonies) to Hickory NC for my health, we've been renting and would like a home of our own and we have found one that is within the amount we qualified for but it needs work (termites and standing water under it among other stuff) and needs to be updated. We don't have that kind of money and the owner will not do the work, I'm assuming because she doesn't have the money either. Please come remodel or replace because the place where this house is, is where we would like to live. We have made friends and gotten used to the stores also it's close to where Jeff works. It has been so hard being away from family, it was 8 months between the time that I was able to see my two adult children, their spouses and our 3 year old grandson. Maybe if we had a house with the extra bedroom they might come see us but this tiny one bedroom apartment just doesn't have the room for all of us to enjoy each other. Also, there is a pool here at the complex but there is limited times that I can go for a swim because when the office is closed I would have to go around in the grass and my power chair does not go in the grass most of the time, so if we had our own home we could put a small blow ring pool and a blow up hot tub from Walmart so we could get in whenever we wanted to (would love a heated and indoor pool, I keep saying 'someday'. PLEASE CHOOSE ME TO HELP OUT. I don't have good luck so I'm hoping that maybe you could bring us some good luck!! I love watching your shows, some I have over and over, YOU GUYS ARE ALL GREAT!!!

  35. I was abandoned at 2 years old (now 56) put in an orphanage then foster care. I had abuse all my life. I was molested beaten raped and so much more. At 36 I gave my life to God after trying to do things my way with no success. Divorced a year, after years of abuse – at 49 I was asked to help establish a home for abused women in South Africa. My children were out of the house so I said yes after prayer and consideration. I gave "everything" I owned to be a missionary to South Africa from March 2007 to March 2008. When the mission was done I was sad wanting to go back. My friends and colleagues were saying did it every occur to you God wanted you to take the vision and run with it and start an organization for abused women. I refused and said no. Three months passed and I finally decided to pray. I said God if you want me to start a ministry for abused women I need a name when I wake up otherwise I am just going to go back to being normal meaning not wondering if someone would send me back to South Africa where today we have directors and affiliate directors but instead get a job and re-establish myself. Long story short today I have a published book called Overcoming Abuse God's Way and a Non-profit Charitable 501C3 business with our names tradmarked. I worked for a Dr. almost 5 years until he retired December 2013. Something in my heart told me to wait and not look for work. I went without work (extra income) for 6 months even till today. In July I was given the keys to an old church that was turned into a 10 bedroom home to turn into a home for women. The property is totally paid for and signed over to another organization i am working with. I have tried to present what I do (training community leaders and facilitating support groups for abused women) in excellence with some kind of success. from March of 2007 till this day I as Founder and Executive Director I have been a volunteer. This home looks like a church. Repairs and bedding are necessary along with a rusty propane tank etc. I would love for your team to come fill a dream of mine of helping women discover themselves and be able to see the beauty God sees in them by establishing this home is excellence. Homeless, abused, broken women. Who so ever would want to try our one year residential program. I need your help to make this a reality. I want to hear MOVE THAT BUS and drop tears of joy. Thank you. 36. This is a story about an average home on an awesome piece of property in beautiful Upstate NY. My father built the home as an earth-home in the 1960's. Around 1978 he added an upstairs to accommodate our family of 5. You see, three boys sharing one small bedroom with no closet would just not do. He poured his labor and his love for his family into this house. He hand cut every stone in the stone fireplace. His father (my grandfather) helped him measure all the angles for the long railing of the spiral staircase. He was a man of little means so he did all the work himself and often leaving features of the blueprint out of the build in order to save costs. Fast forward 20+ years… My parents retired to TX and I purchased the house from them because of the sentimental value of the home. I married and my wife and I both attended school while I worked and we raised our three boys in the house that my father built. As you can imagine, things get neglected over time when you have no means to pay for repairs.
This house has been filled with love for almost 50 years and yet, it has never lived up to its potential because neither I or my parents have ever had the funds to make it the house that it was meant to be. I've cashed in my retirement just to make some of the required repairs to keep water and heat in the house.
My wife and I are done with college. She found a job 2.5hrs away so we maintain another apartment, plus pay our loans, plus we're helping our middle son attend OSWEGO university. It seems that there will never be enough extra funds to make this home what it should be. Now, my youngest son will be a junior in High School this year. My wife has committed to staying in our town until our kids are out of High School. I would love to keep my family home so that I can some day pass it onto my kids but if we never have a chance to make it awesome, we'll never have the house worth keeping.
This house is a designer's dream renovation. Sitting on 3 acres with 500ft of road coverage it has a view for many miles of hilly horizons. In addition to the spiral staircase my father built, I've added some features like a 200 gal fish pond in the front foyer or a regulation size horseshoe court with night-time lighting. I have endless ideas to improve the house. If Ty looked at it for 5 minutes I promise that he'll see a wealth of potential. This is one of those homes that yearns to be more than it already is.
I'd be interested in showing Ty and the crew the house either by video or I'd love to give them a tour.
It is my hope that I've peaked an interest in checking out the house and that I may hear from you soon.
    Kind Regards,
    -Jason

  37. I am 51years old, disabled and have custody of a friends 20month old grand son. I hope to adopt him. I have raised for children. I have eight grand children and two great grand daughters. I bought this house for $7500.00 in 2008 because I had some medical problems and was afraid that I only had eight or ten years left that I would be able to work. It happened sooner than I thought. In a little less than a year the money I worked for was no longer there. My son left school at seventeen to support us. He is married and it off the home now. But I have been blessed with this toddler that has kept me going. My problem is that you get what you pay for. My home is in really bad shape. We redid floors and cabinets and plumbing. We even had to get a water meter installed and run all new sewer lines. I would like to raise this baby here and live it my life here, but the roof is bad. There are so many problems that you could start a mini series fixing it! I have taken care of other people my whole life, it would be nice if someone took care of me now. I really need your help here and I would always be grateful. Thank you for your time.

  38. Its not really a home but a shelter for dogs. Its called Animal Ark in Columbus GA. They have over 120 dogs and cats and not enough space to put them in. It stinks and there are horrible places to put these rescue dogs. I highly wish something could be done to where they could be makeovered. This is a place where they save stray dogs and cats from the pound to where they wont be put down. This place is strictly volunteers with some actual workers. These men and women spend hours a day cleaning up dog and cat pee and cleaning up period. They are limited to cleaning supplies also. Please help this wonderful organization.

  39. HI, my name is Marie and I not here for myself I'm here for my sister and I really hope she don't mind I'm doing this for her. Well my sitter is just awesome. She a great daughter even better sister. Always tries to do the right thing. When she was young in school she always made good grades. Never brought any guys around the house until she met my brother in law Rick. Everything was great. They got engaged on Christmas, my sister got pregnant with my nephew and then a few years later had twins. I swear I felt things were just great but one night while my
sister and her family was asleep someone shot up or at her house killing my brother in law, shot my sister in both her legs and almost harming my nephews Thank God the bullets didn't go that far. My sister was in the hospital for a while had to get sum surgery's on her legs and now.to cover the scars she usually wears longs shorts to cover the scars. After my sister got better she went to collage so she can better her education and support her 3 kids alone. My mom and I try to help out my sister by watching the kids and helping out cleaning. So she can get her schooling done. I feel so bad sometimes she'd be up all night studying. While my sister is not trying to break down cause she knows she has to be here for her 3 boys, my sister's house is there are whole in her wall mold going in certain areas. Her bathroom doesn't work right so everyone just use the front bathroom. There are crack on there walls. I just feel my sister Elizabeth would be grateful if she had help fixing this house up. She really needs this after everything so i'm praying that you'd consider her in this Thank you and have a great day

  40. Hi my name is Shawn. Me and my wife been living in our home for ten years. We have five children. Our 18 year old has his own room. Our three other children share on room. Our oldest daughter Fiona is becoming a young lady. And she told us she wants her own room. So do our other children. Christopher told us he would like a room for him and his younger brother Pablo. JoeAnna tells us that she would like her own room too. Our house needs major repairs. The main support beam has split in two. The middle of our house is sinking in. Our basement is partial. I have put 4 floor jacks to keep it from falling in any more. In our kitchen by our sink there is a bad soft spot. Our air conditioner quit working also. Our bath next to our kitchen needs repairs. On the outside some of our siding is falling apart. I have lost my job and we have been leaving on my wife's income. I pray everyday that GOD is hearing our prayers. Me and my wife our so tired of fixing and fixing up our home. GOD BLESS all of you and take care. Love the sole family.

  41. I have had a really tough life. I got pregnant very early and that was the 1st of five kids. They mean the word to me and their dads are never around and are both behind about $30,000 on child support. Our home is getting worse and worse. Most of our plumbing doesn't work properly, our floors are terrible, there is this smell that never goes away, our windows are breaking and we have tape on them to keep what we have for cool air in, and we don't have air conditioning. I know that we have a 1 in a million chance of getting this amazing opportunity, but I would be the most grateful person on earth if my babies get exactly what they deserve. Please consider helping in us in this very difficult time. Thanks 🙂

  42. Hi My name is Kelly.I Live in a small town In alberta called Edson. It is 2 hours west of the capital. I have lived here all my life. I have lived in my home for 33 years. it is an older trailer. we have moved it once. I love it here and it has so much memory to it. my grandperents had it for years and i lived with them and my dad. and then they passed it on to me. I have ran my own day home from it for 15 years. I focues more on single moms or low income families, so I am only bringing in $20 a day per child. it is not much but it is my life. I do not want to leave it but I need something done. There is mold in most of the ceiling and leaks in many places rain or shine. I know that u might not be able to help because it is in a trailer park. But I have seen you do wonders for others. I wouldnt ask but I know that my health is not good cause of the mold and so I know that even though the kids are only here a few hours a day it is still no good for them. But I have a 12 year old daughter and was unable to have more, so to help raise others children means the world to me. I also have issuse with being out around people. so it limits what jobs I can do. so being home with little ones all day is my heaven and my heart. Also in the last year I have found out my daughter has ADHD, depretion and ODD. I also have a fiance that is my world but he is 66 and can not retire, because I can not get out and get a better paying job. and some day I am scared to death to loss him. then where would I go. and I could never keep up the repairs on this place. so that is me and my life in a nutshell. God Bless

  43. I know that there are many people in need these days as I am also one of them. I am a single Mother of six kids, four of which are all grown up, so with only my youngest two at home now. I also know that we each have our own story, unique to each of us. So I will share part of mine with you. Just about 2 years ago, God made it possible that we could buy our own home, it sold for a small amount as it needed much work, but it came along at just the perfect time to get my kids out of a bad situation. A friend of ours started some of the work on the house, but was unable to finish it, so now our home is sitting part way up in the air with no foundation under it and winter is coming once again, so it will be very cold in our house. We do not live in the USA, but in Canada, so not even sure if we would qualify. I do wish to thank you for your time and will send this comment with a pray from God himself that someone will be able to help us. God bless you all and keep you safe.

  44. My name is Devin Taylor. I've never done something like this. So here goes nothing. I'm writing you this for my mother. Her name is Tangela Sly-Peterson. She is the most precious person in my life. She has suffered so much these past couple of years. Death after Death this is a tuff one for me. First it was her late husband. Then her Father. And now my little brother her son. We just had his funeral last Saturday smh. I'm still lost. All I can do is say everything is gonna be alright that our family will be okay that's a promise I made. But in actuality I don't know that. My mother is a strong woman of God. But this pill she just had to swallow was really big. She resides in Panama City Florida right now. All the years she has been there she has always had a house full of children. I never did understand why in the world did she cater to so many people's children. May be its her calling I'm unsure of that. Even now that I'm older she still keeps a house full of children lol. I'm guessing children lifts her spirits and there's nothing wrong with that. Children need love too. If you ever visit panama city Florida and ask about my mother all you would hear is good things and everyone calls her mama Tan. Every one has depended and leaned on her shoulder all of my life that I've known her. She has put so many smiles on people's faces and made so many people's lives turn around. You would just have to see it to believe it. Now she lives in a cooped up apt that's not worth wat she is renting for it. Her and my step father have land that has not been touched and I feel like if I had some help to explore the idea of her having a shoulder to lean on. Something that can make her happy put a smile on her face. Something she can call her own. I writing you for help and if you can help me keep my promise that everything is gonna be okay. If you can't no hard feelings. I really appreciate you taking the time out to read what I've wrote here. Devin Taylor

  45. I am here in hopes of getting a extreme home makeover for a friend of mine who's 35 and works as a para . About 3 years ago everything changed unexpectingly , her fiancé passed away. She has 2 young sons she is raising on her own now. She got tired of paying rent in an house where landlord was going to raise the rent but not wanting to repair anything in the house. So she found a home and put in a bid. Her bid was excepted . She was excited about having her own home. Recently she had to replace the central heat and air when hers went out . An expense she really couldn't afford but had to purchase. The roof leaks and needs to be replaced. She had to way her options out the unit or roof . She has worked so hard to come this far and there again obstacles keep popping up. She's been so strong through it all. I really admire her for all life has dealt her. I know her and her kids would be so greatful if they were chosen for an extreme home make over.

  46. Hi megan and im 15 years old. Three years ago me my mom and my step dad got into a car accident which led to my mom becoming paralyzed and divorced. we have moved around trying to find a steady home but have had no luck. we currently live with my best friend and her family and things have not been great. We have no home that we own all we have is each other. My best friends family has been good to us to let us stay with them but now its different. My mom worries about where we are gonna go and is taking it hard because we are used to having our own but now we dont. She is an amazing woman and never lets me go without anything she is just working herself up and i hate seeing her like this. If there is anything you can do it would be great just to know thatthere is hope is wonderful. Thanks Megan

  47. My name is Kali and I live in a 3 and a half bedroom with 11 people in it. My older sister moved in a couple of years ago and had 3 children. 2 of them have autism and the living environment is in bad shape. They have tantrums and hit their heads on everything and they throw themselves on the ground. We have a pool outside and we had to put up a gate so they cant fall in. I'm sharing a room with twins and we can't fit all of our stuff in the same room so we have it shoved in the garage. My older sister shares a room with her 2 toddlers and infant. My parents share a room with another toddler and my other brother gets his own room. The rooms in our house are between 10×10 to 11×10. Fairly small rooms. There are one and a half bathrooms. The garage is filled with everything that we don't have room for because of such a large family. I have epilepsy and have to sleep on a bunk bed because me and my two younger sisters (twins) share a room and that is a very dangerous situation for me, but the twins won't separate. We need a makeover badly!

  48. Hi my name is Tori and I am writing on behalf of my mom.

In 2012 my mom started Guardian Oak Growth by Giving, a therapeutic equine program and equine rescue. In 2013 my mom with help of some awesome followers assisted in the rescue of over 65 horses locally and in the slaughter network. My whole life has been growing up watching my mom help others. When I was 5 my mom started and ran a Domestic Violence Shelter in MO. And went on to work at MCADV teaching people how to start them and help women and children in need. From there she went to work at one of the men prisons to help men who were in for domestic crimes to help them. When I was 9 I was diagnosed with Bi-Polar and my mom was and always has been my biggest advocate. Along with advocates for many kids, adults, and animals with no voice. When my brother passed away in a drunk driving accident, my mom teamed up with MADD to help pass the word. I can count more times that she has given herself and not worried about what the outcome is on her health. Well I am now acting as an advocate for my mom. In Jan. of this year, we lost our home of 17 years, my dad lost his job, and not only did we (My parents, my 16 year old sister, myself, my boyfriend, and 3 rescue dogs, and a few rescue cats have to move) we had 30 days to get a house livable and a farm set up enough for 45+ rescue horses. My mom who's life dream is to unite these horses who where abandoned with the community. But at this point we are living in a 1/2 finished house. And my mom is now unable to feel her legs because she cant afford her meds. My dad is over the road and my boyfriend quit his job to help manage things here so they dont have to hire someone. We need help. And you all coming in would be a blessing that I am not sure with out you that I can give my mom. Which is giving her a house she can comfortably move around in. At this point she will be in a wheel chair and our house wont accommodate that, and to have a place that she can use to unite these awesome horses and the kids and adults in the community that may just need a safe place to go, or to learn job skills, or a kid who can walk to be able to feel what its like to walk on the back of a horse. This is an awesome program and a dream worth making come true. Thank you for your time.

  49. I have 3 kids and they are sickly, breathing problem, sizer, yes they take medicine too. House need fix on it right now, roof, redo kitchen, bathroom and add a bathroom, living room need fix, and 4 bed room too. My youngest child have ADHD or ADD. The house was build in the 60's. Don't have a job, but the little income come in the house is for the run of the house so please me to fix my house and the outside of the house too.

  50. My name is Michael I am doing this application For my Girlfriends mom. Last year in August I was in a rough spot and her mom took me in. She is my inspiration. my girlfriends mom is a founder of a Missouri non profit Horse rescue and with her having MS things aren't as easy when we got this farm it was trashed me and my girlfriends dad have put in over 2000 man hours to clean this farm up but is getting very tough all together we have saved 65 horses from the slaughter market and turned alot of the horses in therapeutic riding horses for kids and adults with special needs. This house nor farm is very MS or Special Needs friendly. I am hoping and praying this gets looked at because i would love to give this incredible women a home that would not just be for her but a place she could use to give back to the community as well.. this would be huge it would be the least i can do to repay back everything she has done for not just me but her community as well thank you for your time.

  51. Hello – I'm writing to you from Providence, RI and I cannot think of a more perfect worthy candidate for a home makeover than my boss, Teny Gross. Teny is Executive Director of The Institute for Study & Practice of Nonviolence. The Institute works with youth who are at high risk of dying due to street violence. He and our staff work very hard to give the youth the self-esteem to leave the gang lifestyle and reach out to employers to give them a chance to prove they are better than just living in danger. We have had many successes but we also live in the world of nonprofits where funding cuts cannot be avoided. Teny has taken many, many pay cuts to ensure the staff can survive and that our youth receive services. Teny is a father to 2 boys who he adores. He recently bought a home which is in much need of repairs and we know he will struggle to repair but he wanted to secure a stable home for his boys. The house is really in dire need of repairs. I mean really in need of repairs. He took it on because it was affordable but the repairs will be overwhelming for him. Please strongly consider Teny as a candidate and pick him. He does so much for the community. He advocates for these young men and women who will otherwise die in the streets, if he didn't raise our awareness that they are young human being who deserve a chance to live and to survive in their environment. Please pick Teny – we would be eternally grateful to be able to do this for him after he has done so much for us. Even with his many paycuts, if anyone is in need they know Teny will never say no and they can count on him. If they are hungry, he goes into his pocket to feed them. Teny works endless hours to continue to advocate for the youth of Providence. Please pick Teny – Thank you!

  53. I'm here to nominate my boyfriends family. They have been through a lot with their house. First they had a beautiful home next door that they lived in for 7~9 years until they lost it to the bank. So they ended up buying the house next door. But here's the catch the place isn't even finished yet there's still a lot of work that needs to get done. Like sheet rocking etc. The place is small for four people and I feel as though they deserve more for such a kind loving family. My bfs niece was in and out of the hospital as a young child for medical reasons and now they're still stuck paying off her medical bills. I just feel as though they deserve something like this as a huge miracle to get their home remodeled heck even finished for that matter. Thank you for Reading this and I hope they get picked
    Amber

  54. We, the parents and students of the Greene County High School Marching Band, in Leakesville, MS need your help to build a newer concession stand for our football field. We have 2 existing concession stands now,1 small one with restrooms for visiting team and 1 larger one with restrooms for home team; but we need to utilize them for bigger restrooms and build a BIGGER concession stand to accommodate our football fans. Due to the schools budget cuts, the school and band boosters do not have extra expenses to fund a new concession stand. Our first home football game is Sept 5th and we would greatly appreciate any help that your team could do to make this happen.

  56. Hi my name is Bradley Cotten and I am a minister in a small town in Eastern KY called Grayson…and I'm calling to ask if you could help a young lady in my community who is in need of a lot of help.

Jennifer Waggoner is a young lady who was injured and subsequently paralyzed in a car accident around 10 years ago…on top of that both of her parents died within 6 months of one another. Jennifer lives in a double wide that's foundation has been cracked and that has very little by way of handicap accessibility…the house is falling down around her and she doesn't even have a bathroom she can use in her condition…our church has repaired one of her ramps and is trying to fix a shower for her as well but I fear that her house won't be able to stand much longer.

I just want this young lady to have a simple safe house that will allow her to be able to do the things regular people take for granted… Plus the van age rides in is dangerous with bad brakes and is not fit for her to ride in

Please please please help this young lady

  57. Hi. My name is Jeniffer and my husband Ryan has been fighting melanoma cancer for almost 8 years now. We have 2 boys ages 12 & 7. My stepdaughter is 14. In April we decided that we should sell our home in Delta Pa and move to Missouri so that Ryan could spend what time he has left with his family. And in the hopes that we could afford to live. Well we found a house in wellsville Mo. And the house needs alot of work that with the help of my husbands family we would be able to do the work. Unfortunitley we are not going to be able to do everything that the house needs done. As all of this is going on Ryan's health is declining fast. He now has 3 more brain tumors. The biggest one is 5.5 cm. Which the doctor's are saying that he needs full brain radiation. So we are planning to have this done soon in the hopes that he will finially be able to start yet another study. He has lost the usesage of hif left arm and left leg, due to the big tumor in his brain. He has tumors spread throughout his body. which the biggest one is by his adrenal gland (by kidneys) at 7cm. With us moving here we were in the hopes of thinking that we would be able to find a house that would be more affordable for use, But with his declining fast, I'm now not able to work, and I need to be home to take care of him. So I am just not seeing how we will be able to bring this 3 bedroom rancher that we just bought back to life with Ryan being really sick. With me not being able to work and us just living off his social secruity. I'm just not sure what to do. We really could use a miracle at this point in more than one way.. Thank you for taking the time reading this. Jeniffer Fowler

  58. I wanted to share a story about a woman that was a neighbor of mine. Her name is Samantha, she is the mother to four wonderful little boys.I know that so many people have heart wrenching stories, but this woman has touched my life and my heart in so many ways. throughout the small time that I have known this woman, I have never met such a caring, selfless person. A while back, one of her older children was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia, through the sickness, treatments, etc this woman maintained her smile daily to ensure her other children were taken care of and at peace.soon after, another blow came when her younger son became ill due to a torn intestine. During this time her childrens father stole everything this woman had and left her to deal with her sickly children. shortly she realized she was expecting her youngest child. Im sure afraid and alone, living next door to my family, I never witnessed even the slightest frown as this woman maintained a smile throughout all of the hardships she was enduring for the sake of her sick children, as if losing their father wasn't horrible enough. about a year later, I fell terrible ill and barely knowing me, Samantha jumped right in to help me with whatever I needed, She helped take care of my two autistic children, shes helped foster stray animals, has helped pure strangers in need all while battling the struggles she had with her own children. Shortly afterwards,Samantha met a man that she eventually married who takes her and her children as his own. They barely make ends meet and all of the stuggling this woman has been through has taken a tremendous toll on her. they bought a house in the south florida area of west palm beach and are barely maintaining the homes needs. I am writing to nominate this wonderful woman in hopes to try to give back to her what she has given to so many wonderful people here in our area.

  60. I have a friend who has Leukemia, with very few family members left, one brother is incarcerated and the other it legaly blind so neither of them can do anything to help thier brother with the home. It is in all 3 of thier names. The current one living in the home is on disability with limited income and so is the one that is blind. The house was left to them by thier deceased mother and needs a lot of work. They have an upstairs apartment that cannot be rented due to roof needing repaired badly plus they have the old type electric wiring in the home that could pose a threat of fire to who ever is in the home. He does not have the extra income to even hire a roofer or even an electrician to improve the safety and well being of himself and the home. I would so love if there was a way and means of help for him through your program somehow. I would love to be the one who can say, I may have saved someones life in that home because I cared when no one else did!

  65. OH HOW I PRAY SOMEONE WHO CAN HELP ACTUALLY READS THIS My daughter is asthmatic and Asperger's. In fact, two of my three children are Asperger's. But its my daughter I'm most worried about. We live in the family home-the one I grew up in. Its been in disrepair for a decade
+ and recently the disrepair has become more dangerous. You see, the problem is much bigger than the sinking kitchen floor, bad wiring or leaky basement… Its the fact that ( and I hesitate GREATLY) our home is grossly infested with roaches-my daughter's #1 allergen! In fact, its believed she came to have asthma due to the living conditions. She now takes 4 allergy shots a week, uses two inhalers and takes breathing treatments, prn. Over the years, we've tried everything-EVE-RE-THING to get rid of them, but to no avail. The reason, I've found, is because no matter how diligent we are, there is always a life source present due to the leaks, dampness, rotting wood and the things attracted by it… we can't save my daughter's health because we can't afford to fix the root of the problem. Currently, the basement is now an issue. It covers an area as big as the upstairs and is completely covered in blue and black mold. The children and I are sandwiched between the mold and the roaches. We have to wear masks in our own home to lessen the allergy suffering and breathing problems caused by the roach dander and mold. My washing machine and dryer are down stairs, so I don't allow the children down there-just me. My children are half grown now and have dealt with these issues ALL their lives. I am worried for them and even for their futures, on more than a physical level. Hope, opportunity, these are things I always wished to give them, but have not been able to. They are not without it, though. Despite their social anxieties and other limitations, all three of them volunteer for an organization that brings healthy, locally grown food to the dinner tables of our community. They serve in soup kitchens and prepare meals for the elderly. The produce, which they raise, along with others, themselves, is sold at the local Farmer's Market and even delivered to people who can't get around, targeting low income and food stamp recipients, such as ourselves. …I don't want to be the one who refers their self, but the situation is dire and I do not know what to do. I've contacted EVERY agency around and then some. If we continue to live in these conditions, Trinity is put at a more imminent risk of asthma attacks/allergic reactions. So, I will tell myself (and whom it concerns) this: I am nominating my kids for this service. An exceptional set of three, that have loved me, one another and stranger alike, being humble, accepting nothing, dealing with the strife and stress, all with a smile on their faces and in their hearts. God bless you all for your service. Thank you.

  66. I am a widow with four biological children and four other children of my late brother. My house is in a dilapidated state. The ceiling has mildew, cupboards are broken, carpets are tattered and old. Even some of the doors are broken and some have no handles. Taps are not working. The house needs repainting inside and outside. I live in Harare, Zimbabwe. I would really appreciate if someone would make my family enjoy and live a better life. Thank you so much for fulfilling the desires of my heart.

  67. Hello, I am a 32 year old mother of 4 children 3 girls ages 17,12,10 and 1 boy age 7. I live in a small college town of Williamsburg Ky. We are fairly tight knit community and have a warm sense of home feeling here. On July 20,2014 my family was given the most devastating news, my son was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma. I was working a minimum wage job at the locally famous Hamburger joint called the Highland Park Drive In, a place that has been open in my town for 40 years. Since my sons Darren's diagnosis he has went through 3 spinal tap infusions a bone marrow aspiration, a femoral line placement,a power port placement, among many other pokes sticks and tests. The nearest cancer treatment hospital for children is 100 miles one way from here so needless to say I was struggling to make the trips. Daren had an allergic reaction to one of his chemo meds and nearly stopped breathing just one week into his treatment. Now he has to be at the hospital 3 times a week for alternative chemo that is only given in IM injections. Darren is going to be susceptible to all kinds of illness and infections, one item that is a major problem is mold and mildew. I live in a 3 bedroom house that was my childhood home as well, it is not in great shape we have many issues that are hazards to his condition one major problem is our roof has 2 wholes that are leaking and causing mold to grow in the living room wall and the other is letting water run in and causes a mildew damp smell in the whole house. This is just a few problems among a laundry list of problems. Darren has remained from day one, positive that he will make a full recovery! He is the bravest little guy and has a heart of gold. He has had only one concern through this so far and that has been the fact of losing his hair. This whole ordeal so far has been kind of a blur to me I just feel like I am inside a washing machine on the spin cycle. I haven't allowed myself to let anything really sink in I keep telling myself it isn't real! Well my financial situation has been dicey to say the least and Williamsburg being the great town it is they have held bake sales and are currently planning a benefit singing and dinner to help raise money for my family and I in this rough time to help with fuel and food. I have a nephew in texas who just got out of the Army and his girlfriend set up a gofundme.com site called #DarrenStrong to help as well. All the help and prayers from people I didn't even know truly showed me just how lucky I am to live in such a great little town. I would like to be considered for the show to help get my home livable so my son can enjoy being home what time he is allowed here because anytime his counts drop he cant be here and we have nowhere else to stay so he will be hospitalized. He is going to have very intensive chemo for the next 3 years and I would love nothing more to have a beautiful healthy home environment for him while he goes through this and Lord willing once he is cancer free. Our journey down this path is just getting started but I know if I keep my smile as big as his has been through this so far we will come out of this victorious!!

    Thank You,

  68. I am without a home! But this request is not for me,. This request is for my brother – in -law. He takes care of his elderly mother, and his house is worse than stable quarters. Althougth I need housing, I must yield this Opportunity to my 90 years-old mother-in-law and her son. I live with them momentarily, and they seem to dislike me, however, they are the ones that deserves Mercy. I wish them at the very least a new tub so that the mother can bathe regulary, and insulation in the home is nonexisting. I know God will give me a home, so that's why I letting them have this Opportunity instead of asking for myself. If I told ABC my story, it would be shockingly amazing, but I can handle this hardship, a 90 years old mother deserves better from this century. And the son spends his day helping so many , that I can only feel sorry for them and their living conditions. If God is watching, then these will be chosen, and they will know the power of God!
    Thank You!

  72. My name is Lori me and my family and friends live in a house that is not in the best shape. The walls are wood and not insulated that good, there are holes all over the house you can feel the hole when you walk around the house. My husband gets sick alot in the house. Even my dogs get sick because of the house,. The septic tank in the back is no good and it is causing every one in the house to get sick. We have had rats in the house and all kinds of other bugs as well. There is even mold in the house as well.

  73. We are writing this on behalf of Ida Terranova, our grandmother. She is a
young, caring, giving 92 year old who moved into her home in Toms River, NJ in 1972. She and her husband of 32 years (at the time)
bought the land and built their modest "forever" home there. They watched others move into the neighborhood and welcomed them all with open arms. Her husband Sal died in their home in 2000. His spirit lives
on through their home. Grandma too had plans to live there until she passed, but a devastating storm named Sandy changed all of that.

The home sits right on Silver Bay and was a prime target for the storm, but it wasn't
Sandy's wrath that ultimately destroyed Ida's hope of moving back home, it was the contractor, Joe, who took her money and hope leaving her with a home worse off than what Sandy had left. Joe's promises and what
seemed like kindness at first, now in retrospect, was a con man in the middle of
    a con.

Our wonderful grandmother has taken a mortgage out on the 'home' to
make it livable again. This money was taken by Joe without completion of any of his promises. She has been displaced for 2 years, and the stress is taking its’ toll. When we asked grandma if she wanted to just walk away and sell the land to be done with this she said "if I can be back home even just one more day it will all be worth it". So we will fight on and get grandma back in her house one way or another!

    Our Gratitude
    Erik & Katie Wojcicki

  75. Hi I am 22 years old with a sick mother that suffers from multiple healthconditions. We are living in a house that's not easy for her to live comfortably in.. She has been in and out if nursing homes for the past years because the house has become hard for her to live independently in. I have two children that I am caring for as well as my mother. This house is what my mom worked so hard for to raise me and my brother in growing up. It is all she has but it has become more of a depression then a blessing. It is not at all easy for her to deal with physically as well as emotionally. I myself would just love to have a home for us to live in so my mother can cherish the rest of her days with her family. She is bed bound and can only get around with a wheel chair. But it is a everyday task getting around in the house with narrow door ways. She cannot bathe in a tub because there is no way to get her up the stairs. She cannot go outside everyday just to get air because we have no ramp. Its just an extreme struggle. So please if there's anyway we can get any help I would truely appreciate it and it would be a great blessing. Thanks
