  1. Hello my name is Rochelle and my family could use a home makeover. We moved into our home almost 4yrs ago and was not told about the mold hidden in the walls, after the first yr we noticed a smell in our infants room and went in and discovered the mold and replaced a section of drywall. Then we found another spot in the closet and had to remove the carpet and wall, we could only replace the wall since we had some left over from the last fix. Now in the kitchen the skylight started leaking when it rained and our kitchen was flooded. We got the skylight out and made a temporary fix after we found an infestation of carpenter ants. It still leaks but we have no funds to fix the issue. We are a family of 5, kids are 11,4 and 8mths at this time and I'm due in April 2017. We are living in a 2 bedroom home and we converted the formal dining room into a bedroom for the girls. My husband is the only one working and we are just able to pay the bills and the mortgage is still behind 2 mths. I run a small rescue at our home for animal's who's owners can't handle them any longer, right now I have taken in 2 pregnant pigs, a 8mth old Billy Goat and we had only 1 Rottweiler and I have taken in 3 more from breeders who just throw them out because they were done breeding them. I would appreciate help.
    Thank you

  6. Hi Ty, my name is Tasha and I would like to share my childrens story with you. I have 3 wonderful boys that have been through so much, but always have a smile on their faces. My oldest son is 12, he was revived at birth after having meconium in his lungs. Many trips to the drs and specialized drs at Riley Hospital over the years. My son was diagnosed with disabilities at the age of 4years old. Over the years we would get one diagnosis under control and then another would come up except one that is always occurring, we thought he had IBS and was put on lots of new medications to help. Unfortunately we always ran into a road block skipping through lots of years, we now are working with an amazing specialist that is going to do tests and surgeries to determine if he has Hirshsprungs disease. I was talking and reminiscing the past…. My son has the biggest heart, he always wanted to be liked and wanted friends, there was a time ill never forget this little boy on the school bus loved his shoes so my son was going to take them off and give the shoes to this boy. Another time my parents had purchased soclastics from school, well he passed them out to the kids on the bus. He has such a big heart. He currently attends a special needs class room in middle school and enjoys everyday there with his friends. I would love for you to meet him and help spread the loving caring joy to all other special kids in our town that are less fortunate. That brings me to my youngest son, he was diagnosed with epelispy being a toddler. He defiantly is an angel baby, at the age of 2 having a grandma seizure he was flown ny helicopter to Riley Childrens Hospital and was put in the intensive care unit on a ventilator. We spent almost a week in the hospital asking so many questions. Over the last several years having numerous seizures tryimg to find a cure finally came to a point where brain surgery was the option, however with being on an EEG test for 5 very long stressful days determined we were at a block in the road. He had several parts of the brain discharging in different areas that made this no longer an option. Skipping forward we came to a point where je started experiencing a new type of seizures that were occurring more and more each day. We finally got admitted into Riley for more testing and at this time he was having up to 20 seizures an hour. I still will never understand why amd how he always has a smile on his face amd always so happy no matter what! I think everyone would benefit hearing these wonderful stories. Ty my middle son is so amazing, he has auditioned for Disney, loves Judo parkour gymnastics basketball baseball dancing hip hop and so many more things especially the drums, i have a little future super star growing up. I really hope you will meet my family and be able to see all the joy my children bring no matter what disability they are battling time and time again.

  7. I really am in need of some help for my 84 year old grandma. She's been through more than I can even imagine. Losing children, husband, sisters, brothers, & still yet till this day is raising children that's not even hers, including me. She's raised kids since she's been 20 years old and has had a rough life that I wouldn't want anyone to experience. She lost her husband to a heartatache while in bed with him the night he came home from war, lost children that's drowns, all types of crazy stuff. The crazy part is she's still going strong. This house has several holes in the floor , ceilings, & walls. Water leakes are very bad throughout the house as well. She's been in this house since I can even remember. It's always been us at the bottom around this community & im looking for you guys to change that! Thank you so much for your time. I hope to hear back from you soon!

  8. Hi there? An extreme makeover would be the biggest blessing. See my husband and I and lots of my nephews friends have done as much as we can ourselves. My nephew has ALS. The disease is ever changing his abilities and he has been fighting so hard to hang onto anything he is still capable of doing himself ( with much help from his wife). At 4'11" his wife lifts him in and out of bed and in and out bathroom and in shower. Did I tell you he is 6'3". Yes she is pretty amazing and deserve a really cool way to be disabled. They also have a 7 and 10 year old boys. At this point our nephew cannot walk, talk or move his armed but that does not stop him from laughing his butt off and playing jokes on everyone. It would be so nice to be more independent and easier for wifey to get him around the house to be with kids. I know you can make anything look cool. Make this young dad even make ALS look cool! Thanks

  9. I am looking for help for my mom. She is physically unable to work, but has been denied disability 3 times now. She is relying solely on the money that my dad sends her each month. He lost almost everything in the flood that happened in south Louisiana earlier this year, so he isn't able to help he as much as he has been able to in the past. The trailer that she is living in has been through a number of hurricanes and other bad storms. These events have cause damages that cannot be repaired, and she is just doing the best that she can. The trailer currently has a hole in the ceiling in the master bedroom as well as the laundry room, mold growing on the inside of the house on the ceiling in 90% of the home, and we are in the process of pulling up the carpet because she physically can't vacuum as often as it's needed. She has various health problems and living in a house that's molding is only making those conditions worse. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  10. Hello,

I am applying for my wonderful amazing Auntie. She has had a life that no one could imagine. As a child she was severely abused, outcast by her family as an adult, and for the past couple of years has been battling with Multiple Sclerosis. (Multiple sclerosis (MS) is an unpredictable, often disabling disease of the central nervous system that disrupts the flow of information within the brain, and between the brain and body.) She has to fight this disease everyday just to be able to walk. My uncle does everything to keep this household together. He works nonstop in order to provide the insurance and the salary to keep everything running. These two go through so much everyday to keep it together. After 20 years of marriage they are as in love as the day they said their "I do's". They have done so much for me growing up and still to this day. My mother was on the brink of losing our house every month if it wasn't for my auntie. My mother would have been homeless several times if they hadn't opened their home to help her. While continuously helping my mother they also reached out to help their niece that was in a horrible and abusive situation. She moved in with them the day she turned 18 and they helped her connect with society. She is now successful in her career and has a place of her own. As for me, these two have acted like the parents I needed growing up. They have shown me what true love is, how to establish credit, how to stay strong, and how to stay out of trouble. They have never missed a dance concert, never missed a birthday, never missed a cheer competition. Throughout my siblings and my life my auntie and uncle have always been there. They do everything in their power to ensure everyone's well-being that they are unable to provide the lifestyle they deserve. With MS working is very challenging, not only that but extremely painful. MS is like wearing drunk goggles everyday all day. Can you imagine trying to step over a bathtub to take a shower without falling? Can you imagine trying to pick something off of the ground? Can you imagine getting infusions every month just to stay alive? I see her do it everyday. Of course I help any chance I get, but I can not provide what they wish most of all. My auntie is an amazing cook!! Her kitchen is small and hard for her to move around in. Not to mention the lack of cabinet space. She also get heated extremely fast which means she can't be in their long without over heating and she gets kicked out of doing something she loves the most. Among all of this we are worried that the new health care acts that will be put in place in January will prevent her from getting the treatment she needs. Please help me help her and my uncle receive a house that can better support them! Thank you for your time.

  11. Hello extreme makeover. My mom has been battling cancer for four years now. Shes actually in the hospital right now at this very moment laying next to me as i type this. She was diagnosed with stabe four breast cancer & shes tried almost everything to over come this battle. Shes losing hope. It has always been my sisters & my mother. My father is there but when he chooses to be and he dont have a job so when he is around he is no help with the bills. Well the reasoning for my mother being in the hospital at this moment, she started chemo pill and which has made her very sick. Shes losing hope and faith. Its hard with it being only me and my oldest sister having to figure ways to find the right help to free my mom from this pain. At home it is my mother, myself, oldest sister and her family which would be her boyfriend and my two nephews. We live in a 3 bedroom and it is impossible for us to get into something bigger while having to worry about motel bills or food or gas so we can go be with our mother while shes in the hospital. I have another sister who lives hours away for college and visit when she can but being a college student she dont have much money herself to stay in motel when she visits so she stays at home with us. It would be very appreciated to be able to get my mother a bigger home. Just the fact that my mother can have us there with her gives her hope and faith and motivation to keep fighting knowing we are the only ones that will be there for her every step of the way. my mother has to be the strongest women i know shes always made things happen for my sisters and i on her own. i thank god for that women. i do believe in miracles and i do believe in good deeds. thank you

  16. My name is Josette Beauvais. I am writing on behalf of Niko Kontonis. His sister Maria Kontonis was brutally murdered by her husband Robert Crumb. On 11/4 leaving two children behind. Tiffany 16 years old who was stabbed numerous times by her father in a failed attempt to kill her. Robbie 12 years old witnessed his mother being murdered by his father. Niko and his wife Evelyn are taking the children to live with them and their two small children and grandmother. They have a small modest home 131 S. Fordham Rd. Hicksville, NY.
We laid Maria to rest yesterday and I know they are very concerned about having not enough bedrooms for the children.
I've never written a letter like this nor have I ever asked anyone for help but my heart is broken for this family.
I do not know if there is anyway your department would be able to help Niko with an addition to his home to have enough space for he children to work on getting some type of normality.
If your department can not help can you recommend anyone I can reach out to that might be able to help.
Any and all help is greatly appreciated.

My grandma who is very old and is always sick, dont have money(only her SSI), takes care of us only. For some reason this house mess and stick.

When I leave to school I don't want to come back home because of the house I live in but because I still have 4 younger siblings that I need to take care of it have to come back home. All I want for this Christmas is a new home for my family. A home the I can call mine. A home that feels like home. A home that have air conditioner and heater. A home that is not broken down. This house is broken down. There's mice. Sometimes you will see rats and roaches. I got bite my a mice once and a mice came under my blanket one night crawling on me. Gosh. My siblings we been sleeping on the same matters for over 10 years and it have mice wholes and it's all dirty and not good to sleep on no more so most of the time we sleep on the ground. I'm very embarrassed to show anyone where I live because I am a 4.0 student and principal honor roll.

  20. Hey my name is Jodie Marie. I am 15 years old and from Ireland. My dad and brother are farmers. So our house is always a mess from them dragging dirt all around the house. My mam is a nurse and works so hard. I do my best to try and keep the house nice but it is very outdated. The house is hundreds of years old. The most of the furniture was bought around 2003 when we moved into our house handed down by our family. My mother liked the leather couches in 2003. So much so that we dont have a couch that isnt leather. Did i mention that they need to be cleaned regulary because they grow mold. The carpet on the stairs is awful. Ive seen rags in better condition. And the wall paint is chipping off. Ive been trying to do up my room with the past 6 years. Finally its happening. But that means that we cant do anything with the rest of the housem The house is freezing. Its my mothers dream to have our house done up. Please help

  22. My name is Hilary. My family and I just moved to Florida about 3 months ago, because my grandmother wanted to live close to the beautiful beaches. We previously lived in Texas so when my grandmother bought this house in Florida she bought it off of photographs alone. After driving from Texas to Florida we find the house sadly did not look like the pictures. The floors are rotted out with big holes, the kitchen is gutted with no cabinets or countertops or sink. My brother is having to live in the laundry room because there just isn't enough room and my other brother is having to sleep on the couch. My family is so upset, but nobody in my family is as devastated then my grandmother. She is living with the thought that it's her fault that her family is now living in these conditions. I've tried telling her it's ok we will make it work, but my family is falling apart from it. Please help us.

  23. Hi my name is Nyla, I am from the UK but my husband is from Florida. My husband is a great man and comes from an awesome family. He has been through alot these past few years, after having 2 heart attacks and a stroke which left him paralyzed for 8 months and partially blind in his one eye he then was put on dialysis with failed kidneys and has been waiting for a kidney transplant for 6 years. He is such a great man, hard working and loving and is friends with everyone but sometimes life really gets him down. He lives with his parents, his sister and 2 daughters who he was recently given full custody of. He doesn't have his own space, his girls aged 12 and 9 sleep in the same bed in his room and after long hours at work or at dialysis he sleeps on the couch or in his car. My sister in law has MS and struggles to get around and has to share a really small bathroom with Lawrence and the girls. Also my father in law is a pastor and has his office in his bedroom which takes up alot of space, he and my mother in law both do alot for the community and have had their own health issues , with my father in law having been on dialysis himself for almost 7 years before having a transplant. The house is old and is falling apart, the kitchen taps are broken, cupboards are falling down and they could really do with a whole new house. I am currently in the process of getting my visa so myself and my 2 daughters can relocate to Florida to be with my husband and step daughters so we can be a family and I can take care of him. Please help my family.

  25. My name is Larry Thomas, my daughter and I live at 1510 Delevan street Norfolk, Virginia. I retired from the U.S. Navy forty + years ago and am presently employed as a CDL operator ( school bus endorsement ) locally. I began purchasing the home we live in about twelve years ago. Being anxious at the time to own a home, did not look thoroughly at the structure which proved later to have many major defects. The roof is sagging and leaking creating dampness and mold growth. Floors are weak and unlevel. The foundation is sinking because the back yard floods and is constantly wet. My daughter is semi-disabled with a condition called myasthenia gravis and is home bound. Having to breath the mold daily is not helping her at all. I cannot afford to make the necessary repairs and cannot get rid of the house without placing myself in even more dire straits. The dwelling is really uninhabitable and unsafe but I have no place to turn. PLEASE PLEASE HELP US. Thank you.

  28. Hello, my name Sean Lewis and before I continue, I'd like to introduce to you a wonder woman. Her name is Juanita Wilkinson to most, but to me she will always be grandma. She had opened the doors of her home to about 12 or so children (at the time) and who one of which were my father. After both my father's birth parents passed, she took my father in and raised him as her own. Now, all the children she raised are all adults she is still the center of support in our family. When the cards were low, she would always help out even if it puts her in a bind. For example, when my sister and I were on the verge of being evicted from our apartment, she gave us the money we need even though it came at the expense of her electricity. She has always looked out for her children and grandkids, but with 3 mortgages, 4 car notes (of only 1 in which is hers), and her age catching up with her I don't know how long she keep being that support. Please help my family gave back to the woman who's given us so much. Thank you

  30. I would like to know how to apply for a friend in need of an extreme home makeover. She is a single mother of a very special needs child and her elderly mother. She is the sole caretaker of both and on a very limited income. Her house is in need of numerous repairs. She gives 24\7 care to both with no time for herself. How do I apply.?

  31. Hello, my name is Maimouna. I am the middle child of three. I live with my mother and my younger sister. My mother has raised my sister and I by herself for 19 years. Our house has been falling apart for years now. My mom has done everything in her power to raise us but because she does not have a stable job the house has been neglected. She can barely afford for anyone to cut the lawn. She does not have a bedroom or a bed, so she sleeps on the sofa downstairs in the living room. This may sounds weird but believe it or not every may and November our air or heat stops working. Some winter and summers we are not able to get it fixed because we don’t have the money. One day I came home and our bathroom and basement was infested with termites. According to my mother they have been there for weeks and she cannot afford for an exterminator to come take care of them. There have been multiple times when out gas an electric has been cut off and we had to go stay with a family member. My mother is 54 years old and between trying to run her own business inside of our home and take care of my sister and I she is really burnt out. By the grace of god we have not been formally kicked out of our home. Our home has been in foreclosure for several years. My mother really deserves better, she’s had a bankruptcy, our basement, garage, kitchen and bathroom look like an abandoned mess, honestly I cannot but our story in words. She works hard day and night for her children. Honestly, You would have to come and talk to us and see our living conditions. I barely ever want to come home because its just so depressing. My mother literally is my heart and I can see that she’s so stressed but she’s so strong for my sister and I. She left my father because he was abusive and he was cheating on her. But she made sure that my sister and I did not have to live in a chaotic household. I just want to see my mother happy, please she has been through enough in her 54 years. I have an older sister who is 33 and she raised her all by herself as well and I will do what ever I can for my mother as soon as I get into a position to do so. I honestly cannot put everything in this comment. We have a hole that’s just sitting in the middle of the ceiling where it can rain in the house. They barely have food in the house; it’s a struggle each day to figure out what they can eat. Usually its beans and tuna fish. I just wish that someone could please give her a push and having a new home would definitely be just wonderful. She used to own a daycare center and it was in our home, but she had to close it because I became extremely extremely ill. This can be explained even more if we ever talk in person. Our life has been very challenging and I believe that this opportunity will give this fighter hope again. We’ve never been on a vacation before. My mom always says, when we get money we’ll go here, we’ll go there. I stopped believing her at 15 because our situation just kept getting worse and worse. This is why my sister and I work so hard in school, day and night because we want to pull my mother out this situation. We want her to be happy and comfortable for once. My sister is 16 and she works non-stop all the time, she goes to school and she plays soccer. She can barely keep any other money she makes because that is literally the second income in our home. I also work and I also contribute to many things that we need in our home. We do not make that much, we only make minimum wage but anything helps. We all want to be comfortable for once. We just all want to live in a place that’s at least healthy and comfortable. I know I’m asking for a lot and you have thousands of applicants, but please. I used to watch your show all the time. 34. Hello! My name is Summer Jackson and I live with my parents Robert and Crystal Jackson. I have 8 people living here and there is no room what so ever. My sister Kara Nye and my nieces lives with us. I have three nieces Darlene is 3 almost 4 years old, Eleesabeth is 2 almost 3 years old, and Piper just turn 1 years old. My younger brother is Jonathon Jackson he is 10 years old. We lived in this house for almost 5 years and this house is going down. The ceiling is falling down and our floor is falling. We have a basement with our washer and dryer and it floods when it rains. The house cannot keep heat. My dad goes out of town and works 6 days a week sometimes he works for two weeks straight. My sister and my nieces lives in the living room because there is no room. There only one bathroom and three bedrooms. Outside we have a porch the goes on for the half of the house, the back of the porch is dangerous. We can barely take the kids because of that and all the poison oak. My dad barely home to fix it, he works really long hours to keep up with everything. We just hope you all can help us. Thank you!

  35. I am reaching out for help in hope to get my daughter an space so she can get around our house better. She is suffering from brain cancer now in a wheel chair now to the point she is no longer walking and having a hard time standing. Her cancer is called Anaplastic Astrocytoma, located bithalamus and now entered in her brain stem and left side of her occipital lobe. Its terminal and inoperable. We found out last week she is now having silent seizures. Her name is Allison Helmin age 9. Our home is one level, 1200 square foot, 2 bedrooms and 1 bath. Our home was not build to be handicap assessable and Allison has a hard time getting from one room to another. She runs into the walls constantly and we put bars up by her bed so she can pull her self up in bed or by the toilet. Now we need to help her with those task besides every all day needs and there hardly no room for us to get past the wheel chair or the beds ect.. She now sleeps on the couch in our living room because its easier for her to get around. We have 2 other children ages 5, Payton Marie and age 4 Shelby Ann. Please help Allison get the space necessities she needs to make her final days easier on her and us. My husband works full time, and Im a stay home mom. We cant afford to put an addition on before our credit history is suffering from having late payments with hospital bills and household bills needing to be paid extra necessities that her insurance will not pay. We are in the process of getting her disability insurance in hopes to make her time her with us better for her. We hope to hear from you, thank you.

  36. Wow, so many people in need of help. Some make my situation seem not as bad as I had thought. I wish this was avaliable in Canada. I live in the province of Newfoundland in a small commonly of about 200 people. I own my own home, a small 3 bdrm bungalow which hasn't been maintained in the last 15 years. I am a single mom of 3 super kids, 16, 15 and 3 years old. The 2 oldest are a boy and a girl and my youngest is a beautiful Autistic boy who doesn't sleep more than 2 to 3 hours a night. I have to relief or supports available to me to be able to get the house functional for us. Right now, my youngest is in one bedroom, my teen daughter is in another and my teen son is in the other….. I am on the couch. I am 35 years old and 155% of my day is dedicated to my kids. I have been unable to work the last 3 years because my son has at-home therapy for 30 hours during the week, at which time I have to be present. Even though I do not meet the requirement or being a US resident, if anyone knows of any programs that may help me, please feel free to let me know. Wishing you all the best of luck and I'll be watching from Newfoundland, Canada!! Cheers!

  37. Hi my name is Lori. I've been a huge fan of your show and never ever thought I would be messaging you myself for help. I could not of been more excited when we found out
Here is our story. We were finally expecting. We completely renovated our upstairs to get ready for our new addition to the family as we lived in an older farm house that really needed it! We thought we made a safe little home for our much loved baby; but that was until we were hit hard by his medical condition. He has a rare epidermal Nevis as well as an auto immune disorder. After going to doctor after doctor and spending a lot of time in isolation in the hospital we got some answers. Although we cannot help his epidermal Nevis we found out that we have mold in our basement that is making him even more sick. It kills me that the home we fixed up and got ready for our baby is actually hurting him.. the air quality is not good because of the mold in the basement. We live in an area where there is a high water table. At only 9.5 months old our little boy has been through 6 spinal taps, numerous pokes for bloodwork and iv's, etc. We love our home but just do not have the finances to redo our whole basement and kill all the toxic mold that is hurting our little one. I have been praying every day for a miracle to help. There are no words to express what that would mean to us! We have watched every show and it is just so heartwarming to see how it cgages a families life. This would mean so much not only for my husband and I but for our little boy who needs this done so much. We hope to hear from you!
Love Brad, Lori and baby Blake

  40. Hello my name is Ondra Whitmyer. I have a friend that's been going through it for some time now. We'll were do I begin. Her life started at an early age she had 3 beautiful daughters. Her two youngest daughter was in a car accident that killed one of her daughters and left the other daughter disabled for life. Recently I get a call from her crying saying that the lady at the extended stay hotel didn't want to wait for her husband to come back to pay the room up so the security cameras in the room and took her things and her disabled daughter and put them on the ground outside. 17 minutes later her husband came so they took all there things got on the bus with all there boxes and they daughter took the money that he just got from donating blood. To get a room for the night. So she's telling me this tears start to fall. She asked me if my husband and I have some money until she gets paid so I know we didn't have it. So I called my husband told him what happened so since we don't have money we do have a place to stay. We knew it was going to be tough because 7 people already stay here our 4 kids, my husband and my great nephew that I take care of plus myself. That's not including my stepdaughter so that come in the summer. But we will get through it. Everyone needs a helping hand something. I don't know how this works but if you can please please help my dear friends in their needs right now.

  41. Hey my name is Zack Fitzgerald I was wondering if you could help me. My grandma wants her bathroom remodeled and we have some electrical outlets that are going bed and we need sheetrock in the downstairs replaced. Also I'm in to country music and karaoke

  42. My name is jason and I know this show airs in the usa but I am applying for a family I know actually writing on behalf of 2 children ages 10,12. I have known this family for many years and they actually used to watch your show on a weekly basis. The reason for this is I would like to see something truly special done for this family. I watched the person in question and by no means this isnt about feeling sorry for them but it is genuine and true. This is for the kids to help there mother and father. The father was injured on the job 8 years ago and of course many people get injured but this was a man who everyday showed up to work and helped many people. This was a man who fought al odds and believe me many odds were stacked up against him and his wife. He came from a bad back ground and started working at the age of 14 years old. He was always told he wouldnt amount to anything but he worked and studied his Biggest goal was to have a family of his own since he did not have one. His wife has colitis and was told she could never have kids but that didnt stop them the only way was through invetro fertilization. The first time did not work and since the company did not have benefits he worked 3 jobs around the clock. Second time same thing did not work but he kept telling her believe in god and again they spent everything and of course nothing happened. Most people would have given up but not him even though he was exhausted he still pushed and pushed to help his wife accomplish her biggest dream. See this family cancer has hit it many many times. Then it hit them very hard, her sister at the age of 32 years old who was his wifes bestfriend died from cancer. She had a brain tumor but everyday He would work harder and harder as there were 6 people living in a 2 bedroom apartment. If anyone was in trouble They would donate and help, they put others before them. Then there son got sick he has asthma and scoliosis. This fmaily could not catch a break they wanted a house of there own and each time they got kicked down over and over. He would give his bonus at work to workers who were laid off, he would help and offer kids in the neighborhood help. He was always telling people never give up. I know there are many many people out there less fortunate and I know this family may not be at the top of the list or even second glanced but this is a family who has been through it all cancer, her mother having a triple bypass , son being sick and then the worse thing happened. He was injured at work. This was a big company and everyday he was on the floor doing his job helping people giving them time off when everyone else got wrote up his motto was family first. The day he got hurt changed the lives of everyone his children were 2 and 3 at the time and all they have ever seen is the father in pain. The mother has quit her job and now he is in a wheelchair for life. His speech is here and there and still he tries to be a good father. he is housebound and he is only 43 years old. For the past 8 years he has had to sleep on a recliner chair as there is no way to get him up stairs. They have moved 4 times to each home that would sbe more suitable same time they would put away every single dime away to afford a house to afford the kids joined clubs. Its always everyone else comes before him even with little money they had because the mother inlaw and father inlaw had only one income as the mother was laid off he still paid her . Thats the thing he gave everything to everyone. Now they finally got a house and his biggest wish is to have it so its all handicapp accessable as well as a special room for him and his family. This man worked over 100 hours a week helping people helping family members and have time sheets as proof. He has always been there for others and no person should be housebound and stuck in one room. Most people would give up go insane and if you met this family you would see how much love there is. This is a man who overcame unbeatable odds, and still each time he got knocked down he got back up. They sacrificed everything. Hes too proud to ask for help but every year the kids write to Santa every birthday the kids. Ask not for themselves but asks please make daddy happy and the job he has done raising those children is unbelievable. When he found out I was going deaf and was about to lose our home because of my injury. Not without any hesitation did he help back. Everyone knows this family and knows the type of people they are and again yes This situation may not be as bad as other peoples and my heart goes out to them hugs for everyone. But his was a man left on the streets who studied at work, worked over and over job after job and then after he was injured was terminated(yes was illegal). Yes working those hours are unheard of but if you don't belong to a union the company can do everything. They have never asked for anything in life and after trying for 30 years they finally got a home of there own something they could afford and now it just really needs to be changed. He has changed so many lives always there now I hope this is something we can do to help them back. The kids have only ever seen there father in pain and the mother spend 24 hours a day helping him. Between the hospital visits for him and the hospital visits for there son who simply adores his father. Most people would just simply give up or cur rel up in a ball and let life take its course. * years he has had to sleep on that recliner and be stuck in one room and never has he ever complained. * years going to the foodbank wearing hand me downs he has never complained. His kids find there father there hero. Please take a chance and give this family a home where happiness can come alive again and help us please put a smile back on his face. If not accepted I hope other family do find happiness as you only get one chance at life to livwe and yes we all go through a test everyday.

  43. Hi there I was hoping to get in touch with someone who can help me help my parents with their house. My dad has recently been off work for 4 months with a broken back from a work injury. My step mom is the most amazing woman and the glue of our family. Their house is literally falling apart and now being taken over with mice as well as a basementry that has flooded numerous times. My daughter and my nephew both have sleepovers at their house a couple times a month and has now become a major health concern for me with my daughter going there. They are the most genuine loving and caring grandparents/parents anyone could ask for. They just need some serious help with there house. I think they have just become so overwhelmed with all the things that need to be done that they don't know what or how to do it financially. Now with my dad not being able to work and waiting for surgery I'm afraid that house will become worse. That house has been our family house for 23 Years. My brother and I and our kids have all grown up in it and it breaks my heart to see it this way. Please help ♡
Thank you for taking the time to read a very personal issue.

  44. I would like to apply my parents. These two are both retired members of the US Navy and have fallen on hard times that often follow after service. They both retired roughly around 1997 in Norfolk Virginia.
My father is currently working two jobs (in addition to odd jobs) one of which is a maintenance job for northrope gruman aviations and the other being a mechanic in a local shell service station. He has sacrificed much of his health in the attempt to keep their heads above water. He has recently had to have surgery for a hernia, both knees and lower back. Yet he continues to work to keep him and my mother alive.
My mother has spiraled into a deep depression due to years of issue from Naval service. She feels so powerless based on the level of damage to the house (Which is in her name) as she continues to stave off creditors and bill collectors. Damages to the house lead to an over $600 water bill from a damaged shower mixing valve. With the debt piling up getting a plumber was mostly out of the question.
I have attempted to gain orders to Norfolk so I would be able to apply my skills as a former Seabee (Naval construction force) to fix the issues, however the levels of damage exceeded what I could do in the short time there. Due to obligations I have orders elsewhere and will be unable to offer as immediate assistance.
Both my sister and I owe much to our parents, both veterans of Desert Storm and served their country faithfully and with honor. The circumstances are dire enough to warrant this long-shot attempt for aid, Please consider them in your deliberations.

  45. Well here goes a shot in the dark. My name is Kelli and I nominate my mother, Laura. She Is a single mother of 3. Myself, 22; my brother, 16; and my sister, 14. Currently I am in the navy deployed to Bahrain for a year. So she is also taking care of my son who is 3. Not too long ago she got notice she was being evicted from her house which she is renting due to an unpaid mortgage. Turns out the owners stopped paying the mortgage bill over a year ago even though my mother was always on time. So there was a court process and now 5 days ago (after I've been in Bahrain for only a month) she is told she has 90 days to find a place. 90 days for a full time working and college student, single parent who is already struggling to get by and I'm not even there to help. And it doesn't help that her credit is too low to buy a house because of her divorce. It breaks my heart that I'm not there to physically help with the move and I hate to see my family struggle. They're doing a great job helping me while I'm over here supporting our country and this is all I could think of. Was a helping hand from extreme makeovers home edition and their wonderful crew. I know there's worse to go through in life, but my mom deserves this house. All the way around. She's been struggling since I was 10 which was 12 years ago. She makes it everytime but I just don't know how much she can take. Please help MY family! Thank you for your time!
    LOVE,
    Kelli Gallagher

I am super excited to do the project but going into it I'm also scared of it. 50. Hi, we are the Deans & we are from a very small town know as Hazard, Ky. We have a 1 year old daughter named Heaven & we are currently between houses, even though my grandparents are allowing us to stay in my aunts old house, she passed away a few months ago & I just cant bring myself to stay there because of how close we where. My daughter almost passed away when she was 6 weeks old due to bad medical treatment here where we live & we where sent to Ohio where she was diagnosed with a Hemangioma & a herpies virus that she contracted (Not spreadable nor contracted from a parent) from a cold sore she had received while she was sick & because the tumor has ulcarated to the veins on her lip, it go in her blood stream & almost killed her, we stayed in Ohio for a month, it was awful! We just want something stable for our daughter we are providing for her, but ubfortunatley we can not afford to buy or rent our own place I am only part time and I work as much as I can to make ends meet & my husband being full time doesnt make enough even though he gets more hours to make a lot of extra. Wede love to have our own house! No one knows what it would mean, either way I hope God blesses whoever is on the show & I hope they get a lifetime of happiness<3

  51. Hi my name is Shakeeya Addison I'm 20 years old and I live in North Philadelphia going through a SERIOUS Struggle in my home. Its only me and my mom living here now. It use to be my grandparents house. So were not paying rent or anything this is OUR house and its complety old and falling apart. Pipes coming from the bathroom are old and broken and it makes water come down from the bathroom to the dining room floor. Which is really bad for us because we have to wash up in ways that aren't normal to others. At first I didn't care because we still get clean regardless of how we do it but now it's beginning to stress me out a whole lot. And I didn't say just clean water falls down… Dirty water as well We have to catch the water in a bucket and have newspaper under it. The floor still gets wet and we have to dump the buckets outside and change the news paper. And I can't keep living like this. And these are only the most important issues we are facing that need to be done ASAP but there are others. And I feel so guilty that we let my grandparents house get like this. I'm so ashamed and I've lost all hope in life because I feel like nobody can help us and nobody understands or even cares about what its like to be in our shoes. I got a call back from a corporation that does home repairs and they said they couldn't help me. I've made a dozen calls and sent pictures and emails and haven't gotten any responses back except for that one and I've been crying all day I don't even think I can cry anymore. I'm just hoping and praying to god that this message is seen and I can get the help that me and my mom desperately need.

  52. 53. Hello. My name is Brian. I live in Cassville Mo. with a loving family. I am one of three brothers who were raised by the most amazing parents. My dad loved to tell us stories and travel to different places here and there and could always make us smile. My mom was the same way, she was always there for us. As time went by our family was stunned when my dad had a heart attack. It happened around thanksgiving and died three times. We were sitting there waiting as the doctors kept coming out left and right saying he was not going to make it and then a miracle happened he made it. Soon after he then went into a coma for another month and finally woke up from that. Later he now has a pacemaker placed in and can no longer do the things he can. A month prior to that my mom was diagnosed with a disease called lupus. The lupus caused three strokes and lung damage. On October 27, 2016 she will then follow procedures on full time oxygen/ a lung biopsy. We have been threw a lot. There trailer house has been threw so much that it is almost beyond repair and we need a lot of help. Me and my brothers and family can help so much do to different times on jobs we have slowly started remodeling but keep running into problems after problems and cant keep up with them and we need a miracle. I would love to see my Mom and Dad wake up knowing that they wont fall threw the floor, feel cold threw the walls, have water leaks ect. it keeps going and I would love to see a breath of relief come to them for they have done so much for us and in return a miracle to them. Please can you help me and my brothers send a miracle to my mom and dad who live in Purdy, MO.

  54. Good day. I trust this post finds everybody reading in good health. I have been watching extreme makeover home edition as often as possible when our local channels air it. I reside in Cape Town in South Africa. Why you may ask am i asking for assistance on a United States Of America platform? Our local government has no ontention of assisting my family and i so i have to use other avenues to share my plight. Im sure you dont want a long sob story so i will keep it short. Ive been staying in the same house for 41 years and built a house on my late sisters property. She passed away 6 years ago and the executor and master of the high court wants us out on thr street. My late wife passed away fighting for this place and im now trying to keep my 2 month old daughter, 9 year old stepson and 10 year old daughter with a roof over our heads. I know other people have worse problems but the USA are a nation of people who care for others and I was hoping that someone reading this would be able to assist us to get a place of our own. I'm not looking for a mansion just a place to call our own. Please take my word for it that this is not a scam. I have all the documents and trailing emails. Currently we have no water as the executor refused to sort out a leak and the City of Cape Town shut down our supply. We have no drinking water and cannot use the toilet as it can't flush. I could go one but I hate complaining and as I stated other people do have worse problems. I am literally at wits end and I hope someone across the ocean can help as my own country doesn't want to help us. Thank you in advance.

  55. Hello. I'm asking for help for painting and fixing up our house. No major damage. Just really depressed because there isn't a home for all we have being a family of Six. 56. My name is Kennedy Jade Haugh, granddaughter of Jean and William Haugh. My whole life I have watched my grandparents struggle to provide for themselves and others. My grandparents have earned everything the hard way. For the longest time my grandmother was always alone because my grandfather worked long hours to provide for his family. Unfortunately, almost 6 years ago my grandfather fell down the stairs in their run down home they have worked so hard for. Due to his fall, he shattered his shoulder and now has a metal ball as a shoulder which gives him little access to do anything, which caused him to lose his job. Two short years later, my grandfather was diagnosed with Rectal Cancer. My grandmother now is constantly bringing him to dialysis, due to liver failure from chemo, and changing his bag. There are major problems with the house they have lived in for nearly 16 years now such as: the bathrooms, unfinished rooms, limited space, and hard to squeeze places for my grandfather's walker. My grandfather has always been such a hardworking man and I know it breaks his heart to not be able to do things for my grandmother that she oh so deserves. I truly could not think of anyone that deserve this more than my grandparents, they are the most selfless people I have ever met. I try to help them as much as possible but I can only do so much by myself. They deserve this and it would make my world to see them happy again.

  57. For about 3 years my mom has suffered from stage 4 breast cancer & it has spreader, this is now the 3 time it has came back & now she has to do chemo for the rest of her life. We live in an old brick house down in Eastover, North Carolina. After Hurricane Mathew had hit, our house was destroyed. This old house, was her "dream home" we had lost pictures, clothes, & memories. This house had good & bad memories. Me, myself had almost died from an overdose. Those bad memories in the house should be replaced immediately. There is still partial water flooding in our house & 3 feet of water on our road. When they had spotted it, they blew it off until it got a little worse. They went to a family friend that lives on the road behind us, but to get to the house, my mom & her fiancé had to ride in a fire truck & use a boat. They are now safe, but devisated that our goat drowned & our other goat is going to a the vet. I think my mom deserves her old-but newly fixed- dream house back.
~a daughter with mother with a dream! Please contacts me by my email. This is so important us all in the family.

  58. There is an amazing family that lives in Evansville Wi. Who recently lost their life work, this man owned a family run business in the towns historic district. Well it recently burned down. They employed and helped at least a dozen employees and are the most caring- family oriented people you could know, they take in all there employees and love them like family ( I know because I was one of them). These people are community involved and the whole town is showing love for them right now, this would make such great viewing as this family is truly loved by everyone and very humble. But more importantly besides a Father and two sons making a living from this business it made for many displaced workers who need jobs! This family needs and deserves your help! Their journey and history behind this historic building is amazing you could listen to the stories for hours !

  59. My husband and I love to watch Extreme Makeover Home Edition. We just moved back to Haiti 2 yrs ago to contribute in each of our fields. Today my mother have lost the only bed and breakfast that was in Jerémie, Haiti (South West of the island) after Hurricane Matthew (catg. 4) destroyed the whole city. AubergeInn was receiving any official personalities and stars as well. I would love to have Extreme Makeover House Edition come and help us rebuilt a new "AubergInn"that was the name of her Inn. My mom spent 23 years making her BnB a nice, cosy, sympathetic and welcoming for all. We are in despair to see "AubergeInn" back to life. We hope you will come and help us, we need your help in Jerémie, Haiti (Department of Grande Anse) "Extreme Makeover Home Edition".

  60. My wife helped her parents save the family homestead when they lost the acreage due to low crop prices in the eighties. She always had the dream of moving home and using the saved homestead to use as a camp or retreat style setting. Now we have moved home but after 30 years the home is much older and in need of so many repairs. The bank does not think the house will be worth the money needed for the repairs and we work over forty hours a week in a depressed farm community to keep ahead of bills and support our three children as they are going off to college. I would like to surprise my wife with an "extreme makeover" to fulfill her dream.

I lived on my own for quite some time my ended up homless for a while after staying with me because i could not have her living with me. Now her and my dads widowed wifes exhusband are back up here in Ashtabula ohio and that was back in 2014 then my dad died and his wife god his military flag. Me and my sister got no flag or salute and now i just recently moved in with them to help them out cause my moms boyfriend has lost two toes to diabietis and we all live on dissability i cant work cause of my mental problems. And i have couple of new problems added. I am staying inside the house that needs fixed up and the only thing holding the first floor up is two or three floor jacks plus the chimney. And holding the second floor is nothing. My mom and her boyfriend stay in the big shed out back. And its getting cold.

  64. Hello, my name is Tiffany I would first like to say thank you for all your team has done for many families in need. I myself try and do whatever I can to help anyone in need. I never exspected to become in current situation and only continues to get worse I know this is a long shot but this may be my last hope for all my options have came to an end and that's why I desided it was worth a shot for myself to ask for help.

  65. hi my name is Veronica and I am hoping to get my parents a makeover on their home, my mom has passed away 3 months ago from lung cancer. My dad is a retired Marine that is ill and served this country for many of years. He is in need of surgery very soon, but my daughter and grandson lives in the home with him. Should anything happen to him my daughter and grandson will be very sad being that they watched my mom die in front of them. The house needs a lot of work far as the roof and gutters the wiring of the house the pipes for the water to flow through the kitchen and bathroom. My dad has a lot of stuff in the house that belonged to my mom and he finding it hard to get it packed up and cleared out. he does not have the strength to do anything he has slipped and fell in the bath tub several of times. I am praying that I can get some help for a grieving husband to help him live and not die of a broken heart, but fight to stay here with us. He visits her grave and sees a grieving counselor and it seems to be helping somewhat , but he has beat cancer once recently and I pray that it does not return. My dad is a very kind person he loves cooking and feeding people and having his grand children around. They are the reason he has not given up, it would really be a blessing to bring life back into my parents home and put a smile on dad's face once again. I thank you in advance for taking the time to even consider my parents home for such a thing as a makeover. My dad would be speechless if he was picked because God only knows he needs a miracle, inside look like hoarders. I get tired just looking at it and the only way things can be done away with is to send dad away and do a makeover !!!!!! Please make this dream come true save an old man that thinks he has nothing left to live for because he can't get anything done without my mom who did everything to keep this old house to gather on a fixed income. This I pray in Jesus name Amen. I would love to be able to have holiday Dinner at my parents home again with all the grandkids like we did when Mom was still here with us. I want to see Dad make it through these Holiday's coming up

  66. My Name is Nthabiseng from South Africa. I am writing this letter to ask for help.

In 2012 I meet a GOD fearing guy the man of my dreams and he proposed. In 2013 while we were busy preparing our traditional wedding, three days before the wedding he was hospitalised and was diagnosed with Massimo Rectal Cancer. Because he loved me he asked me to continue with the wedding even if he was in hospital. All went well but all could do was cry.

He went through a major operation and by the grace of GOD, he survived the operation, though he now cant be able to relief himself normally as he used to because his normal system has been closed and he is now using colostrum bags which needs to be changed regularly.

During all this tragic times we used the medical aid and we ran out of funds, and only option was for me to go and apply for loans to pay for some of the medical expenses. I am now in debts and cant even afford anything, I tried to get a second job but it is not happening.

My biggest problem is when he got sick we were also renovating the house and now the house is not plastid is like we are living in a cave and it is not healthy for us especially for our 6 year old daughter. Can I humbly ask if you can help us to finish the house we will appreciate.

    Thanking you in advance.
    Warm regards

  67. My name is Roxanne Woods. I am writing because my aunt is in desperate need of some help! She is trying so hard to take care of my uncle who had a severe stroke and they see no signs of improvement. The nursing facility that he is living in says that since he isn't improving he needs to be released. Well here's the bad part. Their home has not running water and is falling apart. He will be going home this week and needs 24 hour care, but she don't even have the space to put a bed for him. My dad is trying to help her fix it up, but he's not in the best health himself. Please help!!

  68. Hello, my name is Kay. I don't know where to start, other than this would be a blessing if you would consider my daughter (Jennifer) and son-in-law(Amos). My daughter has helped me since she was a kid. She took care of her brothers and sister while I worked, and even after she was grown took them in her home. She has really been my back bone so many times. Now she has her own family with four kids ( ages 10,5,4,& 10months) and one on the way. The problem is they live in an older home with only two bedrooms! You have to turn sideways to get to her closet because of the baby bed. They have water leaks that needs fixed threw out the home. The roof leaks. I'm going to stop there but I could keep going. She has had a difficult life and still stays strong and positive. Her older kids are from a previous marriage that at the end was a very hard marriage. The kids doesn't get to see their dad much ( not because of Jennifer), but Amos stepped up and for the last two and a half years has raise them as his own. They deserve this so much I can't even put it in words! When the oil field went down Amos lost his job, now they can't afford to make the changes to their home like they had planned. They are about to have their last baby and instead of it being a joyful time like it should be they are very stressed because of their home. There is so much more I could say but this just sums it up a little. If they are picked it would be amazing for all of us. Thank you and God bless!

  69. We are currently dairy farming in Stearns County, Mn and recently took over my husbands multi generational farm from his parents. At the beginning all was good but with the decline in milk prices we have been putting every penny into keeping the farm above water at this point. Much like the farm the house wasn't the only building holding up when we took the farm over, and although it is a roof over our head, it just never feels like home to me. We live our lives daily on the belief that life is never to be taken granted for, and to have a grateful heart. Me and my husband work day in & day out and we truly enjoy the farm life, its an honor every day working side by side with my husband, and I know he wants to give me the house of my dreams but its just not going to happen but I reassure him that we could have less. Our story is probably not as horrific as others, but we are a hard working story.

  70. On August 27, 2014 , the home in which I grew up, purchased by my father, a World War II Veteran (deceased) and my mother, an [elementary] school teacher, was left in ruins by an electrical fire. The extensive damage caused the home to be uninhabitable, displacing my now 93 year old mother. Through our State Farm homeowner’s insurance policy, we hired a preferred contractor to begin rebuilding what was destroyed by the fire. Per the agreement, repairs to the property should have been completed within two years from the date of loss, however, in October 2015, restoration was ceased as the contractor was cited for illegal construction by the Department of Regulatory Consumer Affairs (DCRA). Since then, State Farm has not accepted any liability or assumed any actions to rectify this matter. They have also discontinued reimbursements for storage and housing fees incurred as a result of this tragedy. To make matters worse, the stress of being unexpectedly stripped away from her place of peace and comfort, coupled with a looming battle to hold State Farm and its affiliates accountable for their negligence has taken a toll on my mother’s health; this year, she’s suffered several small strokes.
It’s now two years later. Little progress has been made on the house and while Mom’s living expenses have increased, her mental, physical and emotional state has decreased. This is why I’m appealing to you for help to get her back home.

Since that fateful day in August of 2014, she has longed to return home and speaks of it almost every day. With your help, I hope that we can make her wish come true sooner rather than later.
