Deepwater Horizon will tell the horrific and heroic story of the world’s largest oil spill and the crew that worked on the rig where it began. On April 20, 2010 the Deepwater Horizon, a massive oil rig located in the Gulf of Mexico, experienced a massive explosion that lead to an 87 day spill and almost 100 crew members fighting for survival. 2-time Academy Award nominee Mark Wahlberg (Three Kings, The Departed, Lone Survivor) will lead a stunningly strong cast that so far includes fellow Oscar
nominee Kate Hudson (Almost Famous, Wish I Was Here, How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days), Gina Rodriguez (Jane the Virgin, The Price We Pay, 10 Things I Hate About You), Dylan O’Brien (The Internship, The First Time, Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials) and the impeccable veteran Hollywood duo of Golden Globe nominee Kurt Russell (Escape from New York, Tombstone, Forrest Gump) and 2-time Academy Award nominee John Malkovich (Warm Bodies, Transformers: Dark of the Moon, Being John Malkovich). Peter Berg (Friday Night Lights, The Kingdom, Very Bad Things) will direct this important film from a page-turning script by a trio of talented writers – J.C. The Deep Water Horizon event impacted the Drilling Industry in numerous ways, including mine that involves water wells and the contingency plans that we must have in place.
