Fans around the world can rejoice because Barbershop 3 has been given the greenlight for another hilarious adventure and aspiring performers of all ages can rejoice because the producers and casting directors for the film have announced a host of fantastic audition opportunities for it. The comedy of the year is here. Auditions are being held now for the next chapter of the beloved Barbershop franchise.
Barbershop 3 will be the long awaited new chapter in the timeless series that began with a bang back in 2002 and has continued on with a sequel, the spin-off film Beauty Shop and a TV series run. Returning franchise favorites Ice Cube (Friday, Three Kings, All About the Benjamins), Eve (xXx, Spider-Man, The Cookout), Cedric the Entertainer (A Haunted House 2, Lemony Snicket’s A Series of Unfortunate Events, Johnson Family Vacation), Troy Garity (Sunshine, Bandits, Ballers), Garcelle Beauvais (NYPD Blue, Coming to America, Grimm) and Sean Patrick Thomas (Save the Last Dance, The Fountain, Lie to Me) will be joined by a host of incredible new players including Common (Wanted, Now You See
Me, Entourage), Nicki Minaj (Ice Age: Continental Drift), Anthony Anderson (The Departed, Me, Myself & Irene, Scream 4), Regina Hall (Scary Movie, Malibu’s Most Wanted, Death at a Funeral), Garcelle Beauvais (NYPD Blue, Coming to America, Grimm) and Utkarsh Ambudkar (The Mindy Project, Pitch Perfect, The Electric Company) for what is sure to be yet another comedy classic. Director Malcolm D. Lee (Welcome Home, Roscoe Jenkins) will helm the film from a script by Kenya Barris and Tracy Oliver based on the iconic original story and characters created by Mark Brown.
